INTRODUCTION
Traditionally, an Indian woman had only four roles and those were; Her role as a daughter, wife,
sister, and lastly, a mother. The women in today s time however are experiencing far reaching
changes and are entering into new fields that were unknown to them. They are actively participating
in social, economic and political activities. Unlike the older times, women today have received
higher education. Rig Vedic women in Indiaenjoyed high status in society and their condition was

Women today participate fully in activities such as education, sports, politics, media, art and
culture, service sectors, science and technology, etc.
This timeline shows some of the cases that helped women achieve a better position in society and
break the stereotypes of just sitting at home and working.
In the 1970 s feminist activism gained momentum in India. One of the first national issues that
brought women s groups together was the Mathura rape case. Since alcoholism is often associated
with violence against women in India a lot of women groups launched anti liquor groups in Andhra
Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh.
In the 1990 s foreign donor agencies enabled the formation of new women oriented NGO s. Self
help groups such as Self Employed Women s Empowerment (SEWA) have played a major role in
the advancement of women s rights in India. Many women such as Medha Patkar of the Narmada

The Importance Of Community College Graduation Rates
There is a low number for community college graduation rates, and there are many ways to
improve it. The low graduation rates call for changes that must be made within the system. Articles
written by Alina Tugend (2016), Meredith Kolodner (2015), and KeriLynn Engel (2014) explain
how to improve the graduation rates. They go into detail to point out why there is a low number of
students graduating and reveal ways that show how the low number can be raised significantly.
Community colleges only have one third of students complete collegeand receive a degree (Engel,
2014, para. 2). Grauation rates in community colleges can be improved with these appropriate
reasons: reducing costs, providing more guidance, and offering less or no remedial classes.
One way that community colleges could raise graduation rates is by lowering costs of tuition,
classes, or others. According to Tugend s (2016) article, money can be one major reason
community college students drop out (para. 14). College can be very expensive even with financial
aid or scholarships which eventually leads to students dropping out. The author of the article Why
are graduation rates at community colleges so low? agrees that financial burdens do prevent
students from continuing (Kolodner, 2015, para. 12). When students cannot afford to pay the fees
required, they are forced to leave college all together. If administrators consider reducing costs, this
will raise the graduation rates significantly.

Literature Review Of Literature On Influenza
Review of literature: Acute respiratory infections are a major cause of human disease and are one of
the most important causes of child mortality throughout the globe. Though there are considerable
variations in infantile mortality, according to World Health Organization, the lower respiratory tract
infections are the second most important cause of death among children 5 years of age. (Carolina
et al., 2012)
Respiratory syncytial virus is most frequently detected in childhood illness. Factors predisposing to
severe ARI caused by RSV are well known in industrialized countries but little information exists for
developing countries. Infection with human metapneumovirus (HMPV) presents similar clinical
symptoms to that of RSV . Despite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The multiplication of the virus occurs in the respiratory tract and the main site of infection occurs
in the ciliated columnar epithelial cell. Crowded areas and cold climate favours the spread of the
virus. Highest incidence of influenza infection is seen in young population which may be due to
lack of exposure to different strains. Children are mainly affected during epidemics (Rao, 2003).
The influenza virus triggers pulmonary inflammation resulting in infiltration of inflammatory cells
and an immune response. The primary target and the principal host for the virus are Bronchial
epithelial cells. Generally influenza viruses are recognized and destroyed by innate immune
mechanisms which includes macrophages, interferon (IFN) a, b and other cytokines, natural killer
(NK) cells and complement. If influenza viruses escape from these early defense mechanisms, they
are captured and destroyed by adaptive immune mechanisms, where T and B cells and their antigen
specific effectors (cytotoxic T lymphocytes, cytokines such as IFNc and antibodies) target the
virus. subsequent viral infection is prevented by Antigen specific memory cells (T and B cells)

7.4 During approximately which days in the 14 day tide cycle do organisms living on the upper
part of the rock face their greatest potential exposure to air? Explain. At day 11 the organisms that
are at the highest part of the rock experience the greatest exposure to air because the tide does not
get as high during neap tides.
8.1 Briefly describe what you notice about the distribution patterns for each species on the
following days. Do both species settle on the same parts of the rock face? Do their distribution

The Efficacy Of Group Exposure Therapy
Introduction to the Problem Given the high number of service members returning home with
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, from Operation Iraqi Freedom, OIF and Operation
Enduring Freedom, OEF, it has been priority of the Military Health System and Veterans Affairs
to identify and implement effective treatment (This is the military, 2014). Exposure therapy is
the practice of flooding the client with images of their traumatic experience in an effort to
desensitize them, and help control and reduce their anxiety (DiMaurio, 2014). This essay will
discuss the efficacy of group exposure therapy when administered to patients with PTSD,
specifically OIF and OEF veterans and service members. The outcome in successful studies will
result in a decrease in PTSD symptoms. The applicability of the results and implementation of
the treatment in alternate settings will also be discussed. Literature Synthesis
ParticipantsMethodology Two studies analyzed the efficacy of group based exposure therapy.
Ready et al. (2012) held three groups of ten participants with primarily war related induced
PTSD. (Ready et al., 2012). Castillo et al. (2012) study treated 77 woman veterans with primarily
sexual abuse related PTSD. All patients were selected from local VA clinics in the southern United
States. DiMauro performed a meta analysis on 26 studies, with an average gruop size of 5
participants, to determine the efficacy of exposure therapy in treating PTSD (DiMauro, 2014). All

The Structural Transformation Of The Public Sphere...
Literature Review Jurgen Habermas can be seen as one of the founders of the term and details the
idea of refeudalization in their novel The Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere in which
he writes how the bourgeois public sphere eroded because of economic and structural changes. The
boundaries between state and society blurred, leading to a kind of refeudalization of society.
(Habermas, 1989). Essentially state and society became involved in each other s spheres and large
non governmental organizations replaced the old institutions of the public sphere. Furthermore,
where the public sphere takes on a feudal aspect is the process of politicians and organizations
representing themselves before the voters. (Habermas, 1989). These ideas are then further
explained in more contemporary contexts by Alain Supiot writing that primarily of the
refeudalization of law but also ignorance of the organization of powers underpinning the
government by laws is taking us back to government by men, that is, to feudal ways of hybridizing
the public and the private. (Supiot, 2013). Then further clarifying that Western feudalism today is
the dependency between people having a legal character where there are status differences and the
dependent party may be granted possession, but it is burdened by the obligations to the benefit of
the grantor. (Supiot, 2013). Supiot does however put forward the idea that refeudalization of law
does not mean a return to the middle agesbut

The Wrestler, By Darren Aronofsky Essay
The human condition, or what it means to be human, is a term the encoumpasses the innate and
unchangable aspects of human nature. It is the unique and inherent features of being human,
uninfluenced by factors such as race, class, gender or time. This idea has been examined through
literature for hundreds of years by the likes of Shakespeare, who through his philosophical depth
has given profound insights into human nature. As Noam Chomsky expressed it is quite possible
overwhelmingly probable, one might guess that we will always learn more about human life and
personality from novels than from scientific psychology. Darren Aronofsky s 2008 film The
Wrestler, due to its emotive exploration of what it means to be human, is strikingly compelling and
speaks to the audience on a human level. The film is a poignant portrayal of a washed up wrestler,
Randy, in the twilight of his career. Through Randy, Aronofsky is able to explore intrinsic
characteristics that define the human condition such as humans need for relationships and
connections, search for recognition, and awareness of the inevitability of death. Cormac McCarthy
s The Road is an exemplary novel which discusses the human condition and where these ideas are
also seen. Texts that explore what it means to be human are most compelling as they impart
knowledge about aspects of human nature that reside in us all, and rous strong feelings of interest
among the reader or audience. Sociality is essential to human

Question 3
Please provide definitions of the following theoretical approaches to the study of public policy
making and discuss and explain the policy categories listed below. You must cite an example for
each of the policy category types.
A.Policy Theoretical Approaches:
Group theory public policy is the product of the group struggle. Some public policies are born out
of group struggle. When a group seeks government intervention it becomes an interest group. The
main requirement is for the group to have access to the right people, which requires being well
organized, excellent leadership, and little competition, which will give a good chance of getting the
public policy approved. As a result, the dominant will gain the ... Show more content on

Disadvantage the policy agenda concerns or issues of the elite may not reflect the issues or
concerns of the greater community.
Political Systems Theory public policy where the environment consists of phenomenona that are
external to the political system. Its inputs are demands and support and its outputs are laws and
decisions. Public policy is created because political systems respond to the rising demands from the
environment. All the important decisions and bargaining happens outside the government in the
environment. An example: disgruntled voters in a nation decide to turn to violence in order to get
their voice out. This is a demand. The government officials talk among themselves and gather
internal feedback. Then this demand is changed into an output with a reward such as services and
opportunities as well as deprivations such as taxes and imprisonment. Easton believed that the input
was necessary because the government needs to generate internal feedback and then support for
that internal feedback in order to create laws and run the country.
Advantage action taken by citizen are heard. Disadvantage Theory can be considered relatively
abstract (theoretical)
Rational Choice Theory this public policy argues that policymaker s pursuit there own self interest
instead of any national interest. Policy is meant to maximize social gain unless the cost exceed it
benefits. For instance, the Trump Administration Executive Order on the Immigration

Hank Gray Family
The Conglomerate Entrepreneur A family s purpose is teach children morals as they are raised.
Entrepreneurship is often an overlooked trait that is deeply rooted in family values. An
entrepreneur is defined as a person who starts a business and is willing to risk loss in order to
make money (Merriam Webster). Not everyone is meant, or is willing, to be one, but most
successful entrepreneurs have a lot of their good habits originating from their childhoods.
Therefore, parents should give opportunities and promote entrepreneurship, if their child is one of
the few people cut out to be an entrepreneur.
Both of the people I interviewed, Hank Gray and Babe Hyett, were entrepreneurs. Hank Gray
was seeking a long term career when he was offered to buyout a machine shop from an older
man. After accepting the offer, Hank expected developed the company and eventually named it
Gray Machine and Welding. The business has not only provided a great career for him, but also
for his son who now manages the company. When I asked Hank what his family contributed to
his success, he said his father taught him how to work, be responsible, and be honest. These
traits he held true to and his business has grown over the years by word of mouth. Hank is a good
example of a person who did his best at everything, and as a result, never had to look for work after
he started his business.
I personally have taken on entrepreneurial tasks. Last winter, an insurance company asked my
father if he would

Intelligent Design is a Fact, Not a Theory Essay
There are things in the universe and on the planet that point to an intelligent design and that God is
that Intelligent Designer. There are many unique items within animals, plants, and human beings.
These items are just too unique and complex to have just happened. The intelligent design of these
items points to an Intelligent Designer not just chance. Intelligent design is the study of patterns in
nature, animals, and human beings that are best explained as the result of intelligence. (Dembski.
2010) Intelligent design investigates the effect of intelligence not the Designer. Therefore,
intelligent design directly challenges Darwinism, Evolution, and other naturalistic approaches to the

it cannot explain the unique, creative design of the toucan s beak that lies with the Designer.

Essay 1900 Vs 2000
1900 Versus 2000
I think that we take for granted the things that we have today. Just look at all of the innovations
in technology and quality of living over the last 100 years. Back in the year 1900, things went
crazy. All sorts of new inventions were coming out all of the time, and people were becoming rich
beyond their wildest dreams. In my opinion, the past 100 years have left us in a completely
different world.
Back in the early 1900 s people were amazed to see a person driving down the road in something
called an automobile. This was astonishing. People were getting around without a horse to pull
them. All the person had to do is press the gas pedal to make the car move. ... Show more content on

They had no idea how all of these complicated things worked and that scared them. many of them
wished that none of these things had ever been invented.
Today, technology is advancing at an incredible rate. You can t even buy a computer that isn t
already obsolete. People can now communicate with a video phone, or fly to another country in a
matter of hours. You can run a multi million dollar business from your computer at home. People
can go on the Internet and find out information on everything from the weather to a recipe for
chicken soup.
Unlike 1900, if you don t get a good education in today s world, you will not be successful. Even
people who go to college aren t guaranteed to make a lot of money. Today, a car can cost tens of
thousands of dollars, where as back in 1900 you could get one for under a thousand. Back then
people were worried about the destruction of the forests, and today, we worry about what countries
might destroy us with nuclear weapons.
It seems to me that people at the early part of the last century were a lot happier than people of
today. They were surrounded by all of the excitement of the rapidly changing world. People were
always going to parties and having fun. Today,
I hear a lot of talk about how bad people are. There is always something on the news about how a

The Application Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Nowadays, new technology is rapidly shaping the way how construction projects are delivered. The
application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is one of these examples. Unlike conventional
aerial measurement by aircraft, it doesn t require expensive aeronautical facility and trivial
procedure. Comparing to other surveying approaches like using the GPS navigation, the UAV
systems can outperform in many large scale projects by saving cost and time. There many

To fulfill that goal, the booming technology like point cloud technology can be utilized with the
UAVs. In construction aspect, the point cloud data is a set of coordinates produced by 3D scanning
process which executed by the UAVs. By software like Geomagic Studio, the point cloud data for
the job site can be converted into 3D topographic, or the sections inside the building can be
transformed into 3D models. By the year 2018, the domestic UAV industry is expected to grow to
be a $13.6 billion market (Hanna, 2014). Due to the small payload of the UAVs and the movement
attributions in the flight, the most of unmanned aerial vehicles utilized in the construction site
cannot be equipped with professional cameras. However, the data collected by UAVs still meets the
accuracy requirements for the construction. Comparing to other surveying options like using
measure station or GPS equipment, the data collected by UAV systems can still outperform the data
measured by traditional equipment and techniques in cost and time. Therefore, with proper
construction strategy, the UAV systems with point cloud can be a promising tool for construction.
It is important for construction managers to consider value engineering which means balancing
three elements: quality, cost, and schedule in the construction process. Basically, applying UAV
system with point cloud technology can improve the overall construction efficiency through three

Education and Dramatic Transformations:
In recent decades the family institution has undergone a dramatic transformation focusing on
increased divorce rates, cohabitation rates, and the number of children raised in step and single
marital families (Amato, 2000; Bumpass Lu, 2000; Graefe Lichter, 1999). Due to the increase of
divorce rates children move more frequently and deal with additional family transitions throughout
their childhood (Brown, 2006). As these changes slowly increase, about 40% of kids who are born
to wedded, two biological parent families have a higher chance of parental divorce prior to
reaching adulthood(Amato,2000). In addition, these children will likely experience a multitude of
family disruptions and transitions as parents decide to remarry and progress with new partners. The
family atmospheres during these times are incredibly detrimental to the growth and development of
these children (Sun Li, 2009). Research studies show that parental divorce can compromise
educational success for their children. Children in two parent families have noticeably higher test
scores than children who are in single parent families and also had lower chances of graduating
from high school (Sun Li, 2001). One of the rationalizations for the academic difficulty in divorced

Door Openers
What is the Difference Between Belt, Screw and Chain Drive Garage Door Openers Are you
considering automating your garage door in Dallas? There are three standard types of garage
door openers to consider. These are: 1. Chain drive garage door openers As the name suggests,
these openers employ the use of a chain in the opening mechanism of the door. The chain
attaches to the metal trolley in a similar way as a chain on a bicycle. Later models of the chain
driven doors get their power from DC motors. 2. Belt driven openers These models are similar in
operation to the chain driven models. However, a reinforced belt replaces the chain. This belt pulls
and pushes the trolley. Belts used in these doors are made of various strong materials including...

The belt used in this version eliminates any metal on metal contact. This reduces the amount of
sound or vibration associated with the operation of the door. Belt driven openers however, cost
much more than other types of openers. They therefore require a large investment up front for
their purchase and installation. 2. Chain driven openers These are the most economical choice for
garage door openers. They are also one of the most dependable models available. The main
disadvantage of using chain driven openers is that they produce a lot of noise during the operation
of the door especially if the garage is attached to the rest of the house. Later versions that use DC
motors incorporate soft start and stop technology. This has made them much quieter than the older
versions. 3. Screw driven openers These openers require the least amount of maintenance as they
have few moving parts. They also provide fairly quiet operation as they feature tracks lined with
plastic to reduce the noise. They are, however, not suitable for areas that experience large variations
in temperature between summer and winter. They tend to run into a lot of trouble when installed in
these regions. However, manufacturers continue to make improvements on these

Similar to what Dana Stevens is taking about in finding credibility in a television like 24, Jason
Zinser looks at this question in his article, The Good, the Bad, and The Daily Show. . Zinser
addresses both the benefits and downfalls of television, but ultimately ends up taking a stand
somewhere in the middle of how t.v. is both good and bad for people. Zinser s believes that The
Daily Show can be used as a starting point from which people can gain an understanding of
current events but it s not the most useful way. He claims that this type of information people
gain from watching a comedy news show can be both useful but damaging. The question that
needs to be addressed though, is why does it matter where people are gaining their knowledge
about the world and critical events as long as they are gaining some knowledge from what they re

properly. Although foreign and domestic issues aren t settled by popular vote, an informed public
wields great democratic power . It doesn t matter whether information comes from a comedy news
show or from a hard hitting formal newscast, any information that a person gains from television is
far better than receiving no information at all, because if the public is informed about the news in

This idea would be a great alternative since it brings in more fans and revenue without using
many seats to do so and also increases the Springfield Nor easters entertainment value and name
as a fun location for kids. In addition to fun, we ll sell food from concession stands or cater to
the parties needs. We would designate a section of the stadium for large groups to rent if they just
want to sit down and watch the game. These sections in the stadium are located in the left and
right field lines of the stadium oppose of each other. Space is plentiful as we estimate attendance
to increase. Kid s parties may bring in 20 30 students in their class along with 2 parents. This will
increase attendance an estimated 60 90 people per party. If you include siblings, friends, or facility
members, attendance can potentially amount to over 100/party. An estimated 100 in attendance
with an average concession stand rate of $11 $13/person can amount to roughly to $1,100 $1,300 in
increase revenue not including the rental of the party zone location.
Solution 2:
Shuttle service Another solution consists of providing shuttle buses for college students as the case
provided students didn t have proper transportation to the baseball stadium. To fill in stands at the
stadium I recommend we discount these tickets for students since they don t really have a lot of
money to spend.

Free Will In Sophocles Antigone
Sophocles Antigone is based on the idea of fate and the conflict if free will exists or not. While
Sophocles agrees that free will exists to a certain degree, morality plays a role in determining how
much fate can be changed. Unlike modern day American culture, which emphasizes individual
freedom of choices, the Ancient Greeks thought that life was predetermined by the Gods will and
laws. In Antigone, Sophoclesuses the theme of a tragedy, to emphasize the limitations of human
knowledge and wisdom, and the cultural conflict of state laws and religion to show how much
religion played a part in everyday life and culture. In Ancient Greece, suicide was considered a
controversial issue as it represented a problem in free will. Sophocles represented... Show more

According to Beauvoir, while the moralists are enamored with eternal principles, (1), and believe
in God and his sovereign, the realists who boasts in vain about his effective methods and the
useful results achieved (1) are practicalists. While moralists are preoccupied about how their
actions influence the future and afterlife, the realists are concerned with the present. The
conflict between moralists and realists, as a result, has always existed with neither side being
able to convince the other of the validity of its values each side is imprisoned its own value
system in the name of which it rejects the values of its adversary (1). In modern day society, the
perception of morality has shifted into what we known consider ethics. Unlike morality, which
is defined by God and the Bible, however, ethics is defined by people s perceptions of values and
principles. Society, as a result, evolved from one in which values and principles are defined by a
preset based on a supernatural being God and the Bible to a rational one in which people can
influence and control. Because people define what good or bad, man is capable of influencing
how their actions play a role to their future, or fate, emphasizing the idea of free will. Thus, reality
and ethics are subject to human decisions and is always dynamic;

Confinement In Water For Elephants By Sara Gruen
In the compelling novel Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen, there are many various messages to
be interpreted by the reader. One of the most axiomatic messages Gruen portrays is that of how
one must break free of perceived confinement to discover true love and acceptance. This is very
significant in the novel as there are numerous characters who are affected by their internal conflicts.
For example, the main characterJacob Jankowski suffered a great feeling of confinement after both
his parents die a sudden death. He escaped this by joining the circus, only to find himself
imprisoned once again. Only this time by his lovefor Marlena, an intriguing young circus

Jacob pleaded with her to see him again, she replied I just can t. I m married. I made my bed,

but felt obligated to stay in the marriage. This was Marlena s form of imprisonment as she
struggled with August s bipolar tendencies and his intense paranoia. Both Marlena and Jacob
struggled to break out of their self inflicted imprisonment in order to find love and acceptance. In
the end, when, Jacob and Marlena were able to be together, they finally felt the fulfillment that
the love of one another had brought them. On the other hand, elderly Jacob was a free spirited
old man. However; his imprisonment was that of his aging body. He felt that he did not require
the constant care and assistance he received at the Nursing Home his kids put him in after
breaking his hip. When protesting the indignity of having nurses insist on helping him shower and

Pliny The Patrician Upper Class
Leisure as a concept is not easy to define, and is subject to differing opinions and class structure.
Where a working class person may define leisure as a way to display wealth, conversely, the upper
class may simply view leisure as a means of having free time away from the demands of work or
duties. In Ancient times, leisurewas possible, due to the work of slaves and poorer citizens (Price,
2008 p 10). Whilst leisure has always been associated as a pursuit for the wealthy, in the19th
century with the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, and the development of the railway, this began
to change. The working classes had more disposable income, and the opportunity to travel cheaply
and experience freedom from work (Price, 2008 p 7). This assignment... Show more content on

Title: 4 Things You Likely Don t Know About Facebook Marketing
Have you been marketing on Facebook but don t seem to be getting a lot out of it? Are you
measuring your social media activities? As a business, you definitely should be, but many don t.
According to a recent report, only 42% of business surveyed stated that they were able to measure
their social activities.
When you spend money on advertising, you should be paying attention to your return on
investment (ROI). However, in 2014, only 37% of business said they were able to measure this
figure. Compare that number to the 87% of businesses who said they planned to increase their time
and money investment on social media, and you can see that there is an issue with those figures.
Many businesses using social media today don t know what it is doing for them, but they continue
to spend time and money on those platforms. Would you spend money on a diet meal service but
never get on a scale to see if you are making improvements in your health and weight? Blindly
spending money on Facebook without tracking your results is essentially the same thing. Wouldn t
you like to have a successful marketing strategy that allows you to see positive results?

What is the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo of 1848 and how did it affect the US and Mexico
Introduction
Stuck between 1846 and 1848, the US and Mexico (two neighbors) went to battle, which was a
crucial affair for the two countries, thus massive renovation of the region. The way was essential in
the generation of a new identity for the people. Following the end of the war, Mexico lost
approximately half of its territory relating to the present American Southwest from Texas to
California. The war was vital in enabling the United States to become a continental power in the
context of North America.
Background Information The hostilities between Mexico and the United States began in 1846 prior
to its continuation until 1847. According to the historical accounts, Mexico did claim the Nueces
River as its northeastern boarder. On the other hand, the US claimed the Rio Grande River
(McCaffrey, 1994). The troops from Mexico and the US met at the Rio Grande on April 25,
1846 prior to the Mexican army firing at the troops of the USA. This was the onset of the Mexican
American War. The Mexican American War associates with various struggles relating to land, legal

Lab Report On The Mass Of Actual Aspirin ( Acetylsalicylic...
Abstract: This experiment utilizes skills of titration in order to find the percent mass of actual
aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) in store bought aspirin. Two steps and two kinds of titrations are
used. First, approximately 0.1 M NaOH solution was standardized using titration with KHP. KHP
was used because it does not absorb moisture when it is stored, and it is soluble in water. The
reaction that takes place in this reaction is a 1:1 mole ratio reaction. The titrationdetermines the
volume of NaOH solution needed to completely react with the known amount of KHP. This
makes the calculation of molarity of NaOH solution fairly easy. The average molarity calculated
was 0.09897 M. The final part of the experiment is a titration to indicate the amount of
acetylsalicylic acid present in approximately 0.5 g of store bought aspirin. The volume of
0.09897 M NaOH solution indicated the moles of NaOH that reacted with the aspirin. The
reaction between NaOH and acetylsalicylic acid is a 1:1 mole ratio reaction. The calculated mass
of acetylsalicylic acid was 0.3963g. This was divided by the initial amount of aspirin measured
(0.4976g), and multiplied by 100 to give the percent mass. This value is 79.66%. This particular
experiment may not be very accurate. Specifically, only two standardization trials were counted.
This may cause a less accurate measurement of NaOH solution molarity, ultimately leading to an
inaccurate percent mass of acetylsalicylic acid.

The American Of American National History Essay
Introduction.
George Washington stands at the origins of American national history. Many Americans call him
the father of our country . Washington commanded the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War.
He led the American colonists to freedom from British rule. He headed the convention that created
the U.S. Constitution, as president of the republic Washington has created a basis for a federal
government in which the Americans were able to find their national agreement. Despite his
accomplishments as a general, political leader, businessman, and emancipator, Washington can also
be defined as a family man. After marriage with Martha Dandridge Custis, he raised her two
children as his very own. George Washingtonloved the country and its people. The country, also,
loved him and respected. James Russell Lowell, an American romantic poet, wrote about
Washington next:
Soldier and statesman, rarest unison;
High poised example of great duties done
Simply as breathing, a world s honors worn
As life s indifferent gifts to all men born (Harrington 49).
George Washington was a man of an extraordinary abilities and visionary leader, he left the trace
in the history of the USA as a great man, as genius leader of army and as the first president.

Importance Of Adrc Based Lfc Of Interconnected Power System
PhD Research Proposal School of Engineering Information Technology UNSW, Canberra, Australia
Proposed Supervisor: Dr. Hemanshu Pota, UNSW, Canberra, Australia
Applicant: Md. Mijanur Rahman
Title: Determination the response characteristics of ADRC based LFC of Interconnected Power
System.
Introduction:
The control of active power and frequency in a power system is referred to as load frequency
control (LFC). Stable operation of interconnected power system requires both constant frequency
and constant tile line power exchange [1]. An area control error (ACE), defined as a linear
combination of tie line power and frequency deviations, is taken as the controlled output of LFC.
LFC regulates ACE to zero such that frequency and tie line power errors are forced to zeros. PID
controller is widely used in LFC due to its simplicity but is gives long settling time and produces
large frequency deviation [2]. In recent years, active disturbance rejection control (ADRC)
developed by J. Han [3] and modified by Z. Gao [4, 5] has been proposed for the LFC controller [6
9].
ADRC has been studied for LFC of Bangladesh Power System (BPS) [6]. The work proposes
feedback connections from load rich area to generation rich area by considering load change in a
single area only, not simultaneous load change in all areas. Tie line power exchange of a power
system is inversely proportional with the reactance of transmission line [10]. In [11], it is described
that

Men would wear a tunic, called a chiton. It was made out of large squares of linen or wool ( wool

Persuasive Essay On Nuclear Weapons
In the day by day uproar of current crises facing the entire humankind, we almost forgot that
many generations are yet to come. Not the individuals who will live quite a while like 100 or
200 years from now, but 1,000 or a long time from now. Personally, I would use the word hope to
describe them since we are facing dangers, called existential dangers, that threaten to wipe out
the entire mankind. These dangers are not only for big disasters but rather the disasters that
could end history in few seconds. Today, nuclear war and climate change are the biggest threats
to civilization and are intrinsically linked. Beyond the physical destruction of the bomb and the
resulting radiation, the impact of even a small nuclear disturbance could be profound, leading to
serious issues of food scarcity. For as long as humans have walked this Earth we have been
concerned with one issue, domestic safety. Everyone around the world wants to feel as though
they are safe from all imminent threats to themselves and their homes. As technology has
progressed so has the threat to our safety as there is never world peace. The only counterbalance
is that as threats have become more advanced our defensive technologies and tactics have
improved as well. We have now reached a period in which innovation is at maximum capacity and
we are also trying to improve and implement new defense strategies. This innovation has brought
us to the day and age of Nuclear Weapons. Nuclear weapons have proven to be

The Significance Of The Munich Putsch
The Significance of The Munich Putsch
Written by Viviana Campos
In order to consider the significance of the Munich Putsch, we must take into consideration the
different ways in which this event was significant. This event was primarily significant for the
Nazis. Prior to the Munich Putsch, Mussolini s march on Rome, played out a crucial role into
the idea behind the Munich Putsch idea. However, Hitler s naivety caused the Nazis to fail
miserably. This led the Nazis to a short term failure but also long term success. To start, during
Hitler s trial, Hitler gained more support from legal powers and gained more publicity. This is
shown due to the fact that Hitler didn t get punished too harshly. This gives him time to write his
book called the Mein Kampf. The failure also taught the Nazis a very important lesson. It taught the
Nazis that to gain power, they would need to bypass the government system. The failure also taught
the Nazis that change was desperately needed. This caused Hitler to reorganize the Nazi party. The
failure also helped the Nazi Party gain more propaganda. The Munich Putsch also helped improve
Nazi propaganda all together because they now had a different approach. Even if the Munich Putsch
was a short term failure, the Munich Putsch had lasting impacts on the Nazis that would eventually
affect the rest of Germany.

Hellenic Vs Hebraic Story
Moreover, when taking about contemporary stories being more Hellenic or Hebraic, Auerbach
perfectly illustrates the key difference between them. Homer made the rhetorical tradition of the
poet in which he represents techniques of externalizing detail, is narrated in a leisurely time
fashion, and is explain in such deep detail that nothing can hidden. Most importantly, in order to
seek answer if contemporary stories are more Hellenic or Hellenic, Auerbach distinguish between
both of them, which helps readers to acknowledge stories in modern time. First of all, Auerbach
points out several key points in the upon Odysseushomecoming, and is viewed as the Hellenic
tradition. He points out the slowing technique also called the retarding element

Essay On Morning After Pill
The Morning After Pill
The emergency contraception pill, often wrongly called the abortion pill, is a solution to the high
teen pregnancy rate in the USA. There were 521,826 teen mothers in the United States in 1990
(Adolescent pregnancy 2). The United States also has the highest rate of pregnancy, abortion, and
childbirth among teenagers than any other country (McKeown 1). Also, the Untied States spends
an unbelievable 7 billion dollars a year on teen pregnancy costs (National Campaign To Prevent
Teen Pregnancy 1). Not only does teen pregnancy cause problems for the babies of these mothers,
and the United States tax payers, but the teen mothers themselves suffer too. Teen mothers are less

The RU 486 is an abortion pill. Taking the RU 486 is like having a surgical abortion. The ECP
should no longer be confused with the RU 486 pill. The ECP prevents conception instead of
inducing a miscarriage (Rosenthal 2). The ECP is taken before fertilization has taken place,
while the RU 486 pill is killing the child because it has already matured into a fetus. (Stewart 9).
Many people think taking this pill is just like killing their child, as if they were taking the RU 486
pill or getting a surgical abortion. This is an incorrect assumption on their part. The ECP is taken
within 72 hours of having unprotected sex, before the egg has been fertilized. This proves that the
ECP is not interfering with reproduction (Stewart 9).
Since the ECP is not an abortion pill, then how does it work? There are ten brands of emergency
contraception pills, Ovral, Lo/Ovral, Levien, Nordette, Levora, Alesse, Tri Levien, Triphasil,
Trivora, and Ovrette. These brands contain different combinations of Norgestrel, Ethinyl Estradiol,
and Levonorgestrel (Stewart 7). The emergency contraception pill is much like birth control pills
that many women take on an everyday basis, but just contain a higher dosage of hormones then
regular birth control pills (McKeown 1). The pills should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected
intercourse to ensure effectiveness. Treatment is divided into two doses. The

Essay On Operation Enduring Freedom
On September 10th 2001 a cold front swept through the East Coast with rain and thunderstorms
that would leave behind a cool clear morning on September 11, 2001. That morning started as
normally as any other Tuesday of the year. The sun shined and the birds were singing. Children
headed for school, as adults set out for work. There was no foreshadowing or any warning of what
was to come. The morning routine of a bustling New York City was well into a rhythm, when the
world that Americans knew, was brought to its knees, and would forever be changed.
At 8:45 a.m., Eastern Time, out of the sky hurdled, toward Manhattan, an airplane. The American
Airlines flight 11 was a Boeing 767 airliner that was flying uncharacteristically low. At 8:46 a.m.,
the plane struck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Operation Enduring Freedom started on October 20th 2001, Operation Enduring Freedom was
part of a larger conflict that would become known as the Global War on Terrorism. It was the
response to the attack on 9/11; it came swiftly and was very harsh in nature. In total 2,380
American troops would lose their lives to the conflict. The objective of the war was to free the
regions of focus from the grips of extremist ideology and rule. Operation Enduring Freedom was
gateway to another Middle East conflict that would begin to liberate a people from the
oppressive rule of a sadistic dictator. Operation Iraqi Freedom was started in order to liberate the
Iraqi people from the rule of Saddam Hussein and also to remove possible weapons of mass
destruction from the unstable control of said ruler. The conflict, which claimed the lives of 4,491
American troops, began on March 20th 2003 and ended on December 18th 2011. The Global War

Taking a Look at Graphic Novels
Graphic novels are seen to be successful to those who don t like reading pages of words upon
words, but instead acting more like a comic book with semi detailed pictures that help the reader
envision the author s intended view. Although, they do have their limitations on being condensed
and lacking details that could allow the reader to fully understand characters in the environment of
the novel. With graphic novels, history is a great use to portray many important events such as
the Boxer Rebellion in China and provide a novel that can inform an audience of the history and
reasoning behind the event. As a whole graphic novels are best in that they can get a point across
to the reader much more efficiently than a wordy novel, but not with it s limitations of being
condensed in nature and lacking the extra details needed to understand the characters in the story.
Therefore, graphic novels reach a wide set of audiences, remains strong in providing voice and
portraying it s setting, but is weak with characterization and providing sufficient detail to the
understanding of a historic event. To obtain a wider range of an audience, graphic novels will just
do that. Graphic novels have many positives to the reader that it helps the reader view the novel in
the author s light of thinking. Graphic novels illustrate the scene in comic strip form that only
narrative is needed to bring the images to life. In Boxers and Saints, the story of Bao and Vibiana
is illustrated so beautifully

Tone Of The Prelude
The Prelude: William Wordsworth s The Prelude, written in blank verse is an autobiographical
poem written from 1798 to 1799. Throughout the excerpt the speaker has changing responses to his
experience and conveys his responses with varying diction, imagery, and tone style. There are three
changes in the speaker s response to his surroundings, which portray his changing emotion
throughout the piece. The transitions occur on lines 11, 24, and 34. Tones of adventure,
decisiveness, obstruction, and darkness are used throughout the work. The speaker changes his tone
during the transition from the first to second section. He starts in the first with an awe filled and
adventurous tone. He then transitions to a tone of pride and decisiveness... Show more content on

The speaker s tone goes from nervous and scared to dim and dark. The man has had to turn
around and go back because of his fear for the humongous mountain that seemed to be
encroaching upon his every move. The word choice of and through the meadows homeward
went, in grave and serious mood; shows how he left his boat with a feeling of sadness, but had
not yet been robbed of his joy. But, in the next section his starting word choice of but after I had
seen that spectacle, for many days, my brain worked with a dim and undetermined sense of
unknown modes of being shows that he doesn t even know how to feel anymore in light of
recent events. This marks the change in him from sadness to dim apathy. His imagery of there
hung a darkness and no familiar shapes remained parallels the complete emptiness he feels in his
soul. The speaker once again refers back to the environment when he uses no pleasant images of
trees , of sea and sky , and no colours of green fields . He uses this environmental imagery to show
that his life is now devoid of all color. He closes this excerpt with like living men, moved slowly

Apple also has an advantage on their low production cost because of its economies of scale and
these are the main reasons that contribute to Apple Company dominance in the market with respect
to new market entrants.
Another force, which is the threats of rivals doesn t affect Apple much and Apple Company is not
too concerned about these threats. When Apple first introduced the IPod and Iphone products, their
company rose to the top of the market immediately and it made them the top leader of the mobile
electronic market.
Apple Company has created a strong brand name which represents quality and classy products.
The brand has also built up customer loyalty throughout these years and they gained a lot of trust
from their product users. Apple eventually leads when it comes to quality because their product
such as MacBook recorded only 17.4% failure rate which is actually lower than a lot of their
competitors. Besides that, Apple also stayed two years ahead of its competitors. They designed and
worked on products that are launched today two years ago such as the Iphone 6 which is launched
today were actually designed and worked on from year 2012. Even though they are ahead in the
market, Apple does not stagnate but instead conducted continuous improvement and innovation to

What Was The Impact Of Radio Broadcasting In The 1930 s
Radio broadcasting left a major social impact on Americans. It delivered news, advertising, and
entertainment to the American household. The radio allowed Americans from across the United
States to be up to date on the latest political news, sports, and radio shows. Companies used the
radio to spread their product to the American living room. The radio left the greatest impact on
society for the variety of content it contained and how popular it was. In 1913, Edwin Armstrong
invented a special circuit that made long range radio transmission of voice and music practical
(American). This technological advancement made it convenient to use the radio as means of
delivering the news. Whether you lived in a rural countryside or in a packed city, you were able to
get the news. Able to broadcast weather reports, sports news, and entertainment to thousands of
Americans, the radio proved to be an invaluable resource.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

presidential election campaign, networks sold more than $1 million in advertising time to the
Democratic and Republican Parties(American). The radio influenced American households in many
ways, at times, not in a positive manner. In the Radio show Amos n Andy, it portrayed African

According to the number on the dice, players move either 1 6 spaces. If they land on a normal
square, they read the writing on the space aloud before obeying the instructions, whether it tells
them to lose or gain points or miss their next turn. If they land on a fortune square, (the large
squares in the corner) they pick up a fortune card, read the quote aloud and then flip it, where the
fortune is. If the background is red, that will mean that you just picked up a good fortune card,
but if it is green it will be bad. Then the player follows the instructions on it, alike to the normal
squares where it might be gaining or loss of points. If the player gains points, and if that means
their total equals five they can place a button on one of the dots leading up to the centre. If not, they
simply mark another point on their tally sheet, which is included in the game. If they lose a point
and that means that their total is no longer five but instead four, they take off their counter and
mark on the tally sheet their amount of points.
Order of turns: The game begins with the player who has rolled the highest amount on the dice.
They move off their fortune square and onto another square. Once all players have moved off of
their starting squares, the fortune squares are in play.
Ending the game: The game comes to a close when one player has reached the centre of the board,
with 20 points and 4 counters. However, you can play off for second, third and fourth

The Asian Indians Immigration to America and Their Major...
The Asian Indians Immigration to America and Their Major Contributions to Society
Asian Indians come from an area with the second largest population in the world, but form only one
of the smallest minorities in the United States. America was influenced by their religious and
political beliefs long before the first immigrants arrived in the 19th century. The congressional act of
1947 granted them citizenship. Now, Asian Indians hold many important occupations (students,
teachers, writers, musicians, scientists). Their most important contributions are geared toward
engineering and the sciences. India was in a great shape up until the end of 19th century. When
British arrived, the country was depleted of its wealth and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To make matters worse, famine devastated India from 1899 to 1902. Thus, large scale immigration
began in 1906, when six hundred Asians applied to enter the United States. They came here in hopes
of changing their lives around. Unfortunately, they soon found out that life in America was very
challenging. Many Indians were farmers back in India, but when they came to the United States
they had to take jobs no one else would. They also encountered prejudice. Whites sometimes
associated the Asian Indian immigrants with blacks, Chinese, or Japanese. Very often, Asian
Indians were blamed for the violence directed towards them. Whites did not want or try to
understand Indian culture and traditions. The Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore (a winner of the
Noble Prize in literature) traveled to North America. When he applied for entry to the United
States, Tagore encountered difficulties and when he finally made it to the country, he experienced
racial prejudice in Los Angeles. He cancelled his tour and returned to India, saying in disgust, Jesus
could not get into America because, first of all, he would not have the necessary money, and
secondly, He would be an Asiatic. Despite of everything they encountered, the immigrants still
believed that the life they left behind was much worse than thy life they faced in America.
Another major problem Asian Indians faced came from the white population. Many people

My Journey For My Life
My college applications were complete and I was on top of the world. My father couldn t be
more proud of my accomplishment. His face beamed with excitement as he enthusiastically told
all of his friends, colleagues, and family that I was about to transfer to a university. The rejoicing
didn t last long, and came to an abrupt halt when I witnessed my father having a seizure and
collapsing. He was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor that week and passed away the
following summer, causing my life to take a drastic turn. Since my father was the only person I
relied on, his passing had a major impact on my life. Yet, the hardships subsequent to his passing
played a powerful role in the person I have become and fuel my pursuit of becoming an attorney.
My journey begins long before I was born and began when my parents were Iranian refugees and
escaped the persecution that ensued after the Islamic Revolution of 1979. The political turmoil
led my parents to leave their family and possessions behind as they sought to provide a better life
for their three children in America. Along their journey to the United States, I was born. After
years of strenuous travels, my parents arrived in Los Angeles in February of 1989. Shortly after
arriving, my parents decided to get a divorce. My mother remarried, and I gravitated towards my
father. He embraced me with open arms of love, and told me nothing had changed. At that point it
was clear that my father was my hero. My father supported me

Tarquin Character Analysis
How Sir Tarquin Came to Be In the novel Le Morte Darthur: The Winchester Manuscript, the
author, Sir Thomas Malory, presents the reader with many diverse villains, one of whom is Sir
Tarquin. Through Sir Tarquin s words, expressions, and actions, Malory portrays Sir Tarquin as a
malicious villain who despises one specific character, Sir Lancelot Du Lake. This built up anger
and revulsion Sir Tarquin feels towards Sir Lancelot results in Sir Tarquin becoming one of the
most dexterous knights in all of Christendom. He becomes such by searching out, challenging, and
defeating many knights of the Round Table.
The reader can ask, What is the motive behind Sir Tarquin s quest? Before Sir Lancelot and Sir
Tarquin duel, Malory leaves this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And for Sir Lancelot s sake I have slain a hundred good knights... (Malory 105). Since his brother
was slain, Sir Tarquin has sought after Sir Lancelot and made it his objective to seek out the
death of the one who murdered his brother. Sir Tarquin spent year after year fighting brave
knights and one could describe this villain as malicious and spiteful. Daniel Haybron writes in
his book Evil Characters that a person who is malicious is deeply hostile toward other people,
wishing them great misfortune (Haybron 136). When Malory writes of him, Sir Tarquin is one
of the best knights of the land because of malice. According to this definition of malice, Sir
Tarquin exemplifies a malicious behavior. Before learning about Sir Lancelot s identity, Sir
Tarquin was willing to spare Sir Lancelot if he was not the one who killed his brother. But Sir
Tarquin desires tribulation to befall his character defining enemy which he then resumes his battle
with Sir Lancelot until his death. Their four hours of fighting show how his years of wrath and
abhorrence towards Sir Lancelot drove him to raise his dexterity with the sword and become one of
the greatest knights written about in Malory s novel.
In order to investigate this claim, one must start from the beginning. The reader is first introduced
to the villain Sir Tarquin as Sir Lionel watches in horror as three of his fellow brethren of the
Round Table are bested by a lone, unidentified

Bhagavad Gita

translation based on ancient Hinduism. Throughout the scripture, it explains the teachings that can
be used in an everyday life situation. Its diverse audience can learn how to face different
dilemmas, and how to live in this world with happiness and peace by doings ones duties. It also
helps the audience understand the true purpose of life. For those who go through the encounters of

However, the second teaching Bhagavad Gita talks about is the three Gunas. Their names are
Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas. Sattva is known as pure happiness and knowledge. It helps us free
from all sinful reactions that can later lead to happiness and knowledge. Rajas are known to be
full of passion with intense desires. It helps us control our selfish desires. Tamas is known to be
the darkness, and crudeness. They are the ones who are born with ignorance, and madness.
Higher worlds are Sattva, middle worlds are rajas, and lower worlds are tamas. Each of the three
Gunas tries to have higher power, and overpower one another. Our souls are known to be
influenced by them. They are responsible for the behavior of all living things. The goal of the
three Gunas is to create a bondage through desires. Understanding the three Gunas helps a devotee
overcome their battles to accomplish perfection, and help us with complying with our duties. All
three are responsible to get rid of desire actions in all beings. Instead of just putting these practices
into use we should go beyond our own expectations. The one who is successful with all three
Gunas is a qualified devotee. Therefore, we must begin our journey into this world.
Another teaching the Bhagavad Gita offers is stability of mind. Knowing our own mind can help
us understand the world we are living in, react to problems, and make sure we can change them to
ensure survival. This can help us with challenging decisions,

Home Schooling Vs. Public Education
When one thinks of education, almost automatically public education comes to mind. Through the
years, preferences for educating children have slowly been changing. Home schooling was
primarily restricted to religious groups, but in the past several years, it has rapidly been moving
into mainstream society (Ray). Parents today are deciding to home schooltheir children, although
there are those who still believe public educationis better. Home schooling is legal in every state
and involves as many as 1.5 million children (Wingert Katrowitz). Critics of home schooling raise
questions about academic and social issues. Parents of the home schooled maintain they are not
valid. Home schooling is overall more beneficial than public schools in the education of children.
The idea of home schooling first became popular in the 160 s and 170 s in religious and hippie
communities in an attempt to train children in their values. However, in many states home
schooling was illegal until a court battle in the 10 s legalized it. Since that time, this type of
education has been growing worldwide. In 18, it was estimated that about 1.5 million children
were being home schooled. By 000, the estimate changed to 1.7 million children (Ray). In addition,
the reputation of home schooling changed considerably. In a survey conducted in 18, 5 percent of
the respondents showed evidence that home schooled children were well adjusted socially and
performed on standardized tests as well or better than

  • 3. The Importance Of Community College Graduation Rates There is a low number for community college graduation rates, and there are many ways to improve it. The low graduation rates call for changes that must be made within the system. Articles written by Alina Tugend (2016), Meredith Kolodner (2015), and KeriLynn Engel (2014) explain how to improve the graduation rates. They go into detail to point out why there is a low number of students graduating and reveal ways that show how the low number can be raised significantly. Community colleges only have one third of students complete collegeand receive a degree (Engel, 2014, para. 2). Grauation rates in community colleges can be improved with these appropriate reasons: reducing costs, providing more guidance, and offering less or no remedial classes. One way that community colleges could raise graduation rates is by lowering costs of tuition, classes, or others. According to Tugend s (2016) article, money can be one major reason community college students drop out (para. 14). College can be very expensive even with financial aid or scholarships which eventually leads to students dropping out. The author of the article Why are graduation rates at community colleges so low? agrees that financial burdens do prevent students from continuing (Kolodner, 2015, para. 12). When students cannot afford to pay the fees required, they are forced to leave college all together. If administrators consider reducing costs, this will raise the graduation rates significantly. Literature Review Of Literature On Influenza Review of literature: Acute respiratory infections are a major cause of human disease and are one of the most important causes of child mortality throughout the globe. Though there are considerable variations in infantile mortality, according to World Health Organization, the lower respiratory tract infections are the second most important cause of death among children 5 years of age. (Carolina et al., 2012) Respiratory syncytial virus is most frequently detected in childhood illness. Factors predisposing to severe ARI caused by RSV are well known in industrialized countries but little information exists for developing countries. Infection with human metapneumovirus (HMPV) presents similar clinical symptoms to that of RSV . Despite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The multiplication of the virus occurs in the respiratory tract and the main site of infection occurs in the ciliated columnar epithelial cell. Crowded areas and cold climate favours the spread of the virus. Highest incidence of influenza infection is seen in young population which may be due to lack of exposure to different strains. Children are mainly affected during epidemics (Rao, 2003). The influenza virus triggers pulmonary inflammation resulting in infiltration of inflammatory cells and an immune response. The primary target and the principal host for the virus are Bronchial epithelial cells. Generally influenza viruses are recognized and destroyed by innate immune mechanisms which includes macrophages, interferon (IFN) a, b and other cytokines, natural killer (NK) cells and complement. If influenza viruses escape from these early defense mechanisms, they are captured and destroyed by adaptive immune mechanisms, where T and B cells and their antigen specific effectors (cytotoxic T lymphocytes, cytokines such as IFNc and antibodies) target the virus. subsequent viral infection is prevented by Antigen specific memory cells (T and B cells) (Capelozzi et al., ... • 8. The Efficacy Of Group Exposure Therapy Introduction to the Problem Given the high number of service members returning home with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, from Operation Iraqi Freedom, OIF and Operation Enduring Freedom, OEF, it has been priority of the Military Health System and Veterans Affairs to identify and implement effective treatment (This is the military, 2014). Exposure therapy is the practice of flooding the client with images of their traumatic experience in an effort to desensitize them, and help control and reduce their anxiety (DiMaurio, 2014). This essay will discuss the efficacy of group exposure therapy when administered to patients with PTSD, specifically OIF and OEF veterans and service members. The outcome in successful studies will result in a decrease in PTSD symptoms. The applicability of the results and implementation of the treatment in alternate settings will also be discussed. Literature Synthesis ParticipantsMethodology Two studies analyzed the efficacy of group based exposure therapy. Ready et al. (2012) held three groups of ten participants with primarily war related induced PTSD. (Ready et al., 2012). Castillo et al. (2012) study treated 77 woman veterans with primarily sexual abuse related PTSD. All patients were selected from local VA clinics in the southern United States. • 9. The Structural Transformation Of The Public Sphere... Literature Review Jurgen Habermas can be seen as one of the founders of the term and details the idea of refeudalization in their novel The Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere in which he writes how the bourgeois public sphere eroded because of economic and structural changes. The boundaries between state and society blurred, leading to a kind of refeudalization of society. (Habermas, 1989). Essentially state and society became involved in each other s spheres and large non governmental organizations replaced the old institutions of the public sphere. Furthermore, where the public sphere takes on a feudal aspect is the process of politicians and organizations representing themselves before the voters. (Habermas, 1989). These ideas are then further explained in more contemporary contexts by Alain Supiot writing that primarily of the refeudalization of law but also ignorance of the organization of powers underpinning the government by laws is taking us back to government by men, that is, to feudal ways of hybridizing the public and the private. (Supiot, 2013). Then further clarifying that Western feudalism today is the dependency between people having a legal character where there are status differences and the dependent party may be granted possession, but it is burdened by the obligations to the benefit of the grantor. (Supiot, 2013). Supiot does however put forward the idea that refeudalization of law does not mean a return to the middle agesbut ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Wrestler, By Darren Aronofsky Essay The human condition, or what it means to be human, is a term the encoumpasses the innate and unchangable aspects of human nature. It is the unique and inherent features of being human, uninfluenced by factors such as race, class, gender or time. This idea has been examined through literature for hundreds of years by the likes of Shakespeare, who through his philosophical depth has given profound insights into human nature. As Noam Chomsky expressed it is quite possible overwhelmingly probable, one might guess that we will always learn more about human life and personality from novels than from scientific psychology. Darren Aronofsky s 2008 film The Wrestler, due to its emotive exploration of what it means to be human, is strikingly compelling and speaks to the audience on a human level. The film is a poignant portrayal of a washed up wrestler, Randy, in the twilight of his career. Through Randy, Aronofsky is able to explore intrinsic characteristics that define the human condition such as humans need for relationships and connections, search for recognition, and awareness of the inevitability of death. Cormac McCarthy s The Road is an exemplary novel which discusses the human condition and where these ideas are also seen. Texts that explore what it means to be human are most compelling as they impart knowledge about aspects of human nature that reside in us all, and rous strong feelings of interest among the reader or audience. Some public policies are born out of group struggle. When a group seeks government intervention it becomes an interest group. Political Systems Theory public policy where the environment consists of phenomenona that are external to the political system. Its inputs are demands and support and its outputs are laws and decisions. Public policy is created because political systems respond to the rising demands from the environment. All the important decisions and bargaining happens outside the government in the environment. An example: disgruntled voters in a nation decide to turn to violence in order to get their voice out. This is a demand. The government officials talk among themselves and gather internal feedback. Then this demand is changed into an output with a reward such as services and opportunities as well as deprivations such as taxes and imprisonment. Easton believed that the input was necessary because the government needs to generate internal feedback and then support for that internal feedback in order to create laws and run the country. Advantage action taken by citizen are heard. Entrepreneurship is often an overlooked trait that is deeply rooted in family values. An entrepreneur is defined as a person who starts a business and is willing to risk loss in order to make money (Merriam Webster). Not everyone is meant, or is willing, to be one, but most successful entrepreneurs have a lot of their good habits originating from their childhoods. Therefore, parents should give opportunities and promote entrepreneurship, if their child is one of the few people cut out to be an entrepreneur. Both of the people I interviewed, Hank Gray and Babe Hyett, were entrepreneurs. Hank Gray was seeking a long term career when he was offered to buyout a machine shop from an older man. After accepting the offer, Hank expected developed the company and eventually named it Gray Machine and Welding. The business has not only provided a great career for him, but also for his son who now manages the company. When I asked Hank what his family contributed to his success, he said his father taught him how to work, be responsible, and be honest. These traits he held true to and his business has grown over the years by word of mouth. Hank is a good example of a person who did his best at everything, and as a result, never had to look for work after he started his business. I personally have taken on entrepreneurial tasks. Intelligent design is the study of patterns in nature, animals, and human beings that are best explained as the result of intelligence. All sorts of new inventions were coming out all of the time, and people were becoming rich beyond their wildest dreams. In my opinion, the past 100 years have left us in a completely different world. By the year 2018, the domestic UAV industry is expected to grow to be a $13.6 billion market (Hanna, 2014). Due to the small payload of the UAVs and the movement attributions in the flight, the most of unmanned aerial vehicles utilized in the construction site cannot be equipped with professional cameras. Education and Dramatic Transformations: In recent decades the family institution has undergone a dramatic transformation focusing on increased divorce rates, cohabitation rates, and the number of children raised in step and single marital families (Amato, 2000; Bumpass Lu, 2000; Graefe Lichter, 1999). Due to the increase of divorce rates children move more frequently and deal with additional family transitions throughout their childhood (Brown, 2006). As these changes slowly increase, about 40% of kids who are born to wedded, two biological parent families have a higher chance of parental divorce prior to reaching adulthood(Amato,2000). In addition, these children will likely experience a multitude of family disruptions and transitions as parents decide to remarry and progress with new partners. The family atmospheres during these times are incredibly detrimental to the growth and development of these children (Sun Li, 2009). Research studies show that parental divorce can compromise educational success for their children. • 19. Door Openers What is the Difference Between Belt, Screw and Chain Drive Garage Door Openers Are you considering automating your garage door in Dallas? There are three standard types of garage door openers to consider. These are: 1. Chain drive garage door openers As the name suggests, these openers employ the use of a chain in the opening mechanism of the door. The chain attaches to the metal trolley in a similar way as a chain on a bicycle. Later models of the chain driven doors get their power from DC motors. 2. Belt driven openers These models are similar in operation to the chain driven models. However, a reinforced belt replaces the chain. This belt pulls and pushes the trolley. This reduces the amount of sound or vibration associated with the operation of the door. Belt driven openers however, cost much more than other types of openers. They therefore require a large investment up front for their purchase and installation. 2. Chain driven openers These are the most economical choice for garage door openers. They are also one of the most dependable models available. The main disadvantage of using chain driven openers is that they produce a lot of noise during the operation of the door especially if the garage is attached to the rest of the house. Later versions that use DC motors incorporate soft start and stop technology. This has made them much quieter than the older versions. 3. Screw driven openers These openers require the least amount of maintenance as they have few moving parts. They also provide fairly quiet operation as they feature tracks lined with plastic to reduce the noise. They are, however, not suitable for areas that experience large variations in temperature between summer and winter. They tend to run into a lot of trouble when installed in these regions. However, manufacturers continue to make improvements on these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Zinser addresses both the benefits and downfalls of television, but ultimately ends up taking a stand somewhere in the middle of how t.v. is both good and bad for people. Zinser s believes that The Daily Show can be used as a starting point from which people can gain an understanding of current events but it s not the most useful way. He claims that this type of information people gain from watching a comedy news show can be both useful but damaging. The question that needs to be addressed though, is why does it matter where people are gaining their knowledge about the world and critical events as long as they are gaining some knowledge from what they re watching. As Zinser states, An informed public is the grease that keeps democracy running properly. Although foreign and domestic issues aren t settled by popular vote, an informed public wields great democratic power . It doesn t matter whether information comes from a comedy news show or from a hard hitting formal newscast, any information that a person gains from television is far better than receiving no information at all, because if the public is informed about the news in the world they have an understanding of it and could possibly make decision about things ... We would designate a section of the stadium for large groups to rent if they just want to sit down and watch the game. These sections in the stadium are located in the left and right field lines of the stadium oppose of each other. Space is plentiful as we estimate attendance to increase. Kid s parties may bring in 20 30 students in their class along with 2 parents. This will increase attendance an estimated 60 90 people per party. If you include siblings, friends, or facility members, attendance can potentially amount to over 100/party. An estimated 100 in attendance with an average concession stand rate of $11 $13/person can amount to roughly to $1,100 $1,300 in increase revenue not including the rental of the party zone location. This is very significant in the novel as there are numerous characters who are affected by their internal conflicts. For example, the main characterJacob Jankowski suffered a great feeling of confinement after both his parents die a sudden death. • 30. Lab Report On The Mass Of Actual Aspirin ( Acetylsalicylic... Abstract: This experiment utilizes skills of titration in order to find the percent mass of actual aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) in store bought aspirin. Two steps and two kinds of titrations are used. First, approximately 0.1 M NaOH solution was standardized using titration with KHP. KHP was used because it does not absorb moisture when it is stored, and it is soluble in water. The reaction that takes place in this reaction is a 1:1 mole ratio reaction. The titrationdetermines the volume of NaOH solution needed to completely react with the known amount of KHP. This makes the calculation of molarity of NaOH solution fairly easy. The average molarity calculated was 0.09897 M. The final part of the experiment is a titration to indicate the amount of acetylsalicylic acid present in approximately 0.5 g of store bought aspirin. The volume of 0.09897 M NaOH solution indicated the moles of NaOH that reacted with the aspirin. The reaction between NaOH and acetylsalicylic acid is a 1:1 mole ratio reaction. The calculated mass of acetylsalicylic acid was 0.3963g. This was divided by the initial amount of aspirin measured (0.4976g), and multiplied by 100 to give the percent mass. This value is 79.66%. This particular experiment may not be very accurate. Specifically, only two standardization trials were counted. This may cause a less accurate measurement of NaOH solution molarity, ultimately leading to an inaccurate percent mass of acetylsalicylic acid. Introduction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Importance Of Adrc Based Lfc Of Interconnected Power System PhD Research Proposal School of Engineering Information Technology UNSW, Canberra, Australia Proposed Supervisor: Dr. Hemanshu Pota, UNSW, Canberra, Australia Applicant: Md. Mijanur Rahman Title: Determination the response characteristics of ADRC based LFC of Interconnected Power System. Introduction: The control of active power and frequency in a power system is referred to as load frequency control (LFC). Stable operation of interconnected power system requires both constant frequency and constant tile line power exchange [1]. An area control error (ACE), defined as a linear combination of tie line power and frequency deviations, is taken as the controlled output of LFC. LFC regulates ACE to zero such that frequency and tie line power errors are forced to zeros. PID controller is widely used in LFC due to its simplicity but is gives long settling time and produces large frequency deviation [2]. In recent years, active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) developed by J. Han [3] and modified by Z. Gao [4, 5] has been proposed for the LFC controller [6 9]. ADRC has been studied for LFC of Bangladesh Power System (BPS) [6]. The work proposes feedback connections from load rich area to generation rich area by considering load change in a single area only, not simultaneous load change in all areas. Tie line power exchange of a power system is inversely proportional with the reactance of transmission line [10]. In [11], it is described that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Hitler s naivety caused the Nazis to fail miserably. This led the Nazis to a short term failure but also long term success. To start, during Hitler s trial, Hitler gained more support from legal powers and gained more publicity. This is shown due to the fact that Hitler didn t get punished too harshly. This gives him time to write his book called the Mein Kampf. The failure also taught the Nazis a very important lesson. It taught the Nazis that to gain power, they would need to bypass the government system. The failure also taught the Nazis that change was desperately needed. This caused Hitler to reorganize the Nazi party. The failure also helped the Nazi Party gain more propaganda. The Munich Putsch also helped improve Nazi propaganda all together because they now had a different approach.
