Major General Sherman Outline
On November 15, 1864, Major General William T. Sherman received direct orders from president
Abraham Lincoln to a very rare but devastating tactic. Lincoln ordered General Sherman to march his
troops from Atlanta, Georgia to Savannah, Georgia. The total distance the army covered was nearly
400 miles from city to city. The trek was long and difficult for the soldiers but was even worse for any
family who lived in their path. The purpose of this march was to destroy Confederate supply lines and
split the South in two halves. General Sherman used the tactic which earned the name scorched earth
due to the harsh methods used. Anywhere the 60,000 man army traveled, they destroyed and burned
any obstacle that they encountered, whether it be travelers, families, or even entire towns. Lincoln
knew this would strike terror into the Confederate side and decrease their population by thousands.
The total fatality count is undetermined because of the mass slaughtering and burning. ... Show more

The men continued on to Macon and Augusta, still with ammunition and guns in hand. When ordered
by their general, the troops listened. Money was scarce and men were not payed highly. However, any
small amount of payment they could receive was enough for them.Once done ravaging a settlement,
the soldiers were told to take anything that they may need later on in the march. Men carried meat,
guns, clothing, ammunition, but destroyed wagons and homes. Sherman s soldiers could survive at
first because the men had knowledge of how to live off of the land. Before Sherman s march to the
sea, Georgia was relatively untouched by the war and suffered very little. These attacks came as a
shock to the population and many families were in awe. The Confederate forces were taking a blow
that was absolutely impossible to

Activity Based Costing And How It Works
I chose to write about activity based costing. I chose to write this paper because I wanted to know
more about activity based costing and how it works. According to our text, activity based costing
(ABC) has received a lot of attention since the 90 s. ABC has a lot of more details and can be more
complicated than all the other costing methods, however it s more accurate. Costing systems are
information systems. They require a specific type of information such as direct labour hours and units
produced, to be of value. It is from the input data that product costs and other information are
determined according to the specific costing system defined methodology. The results obtained would
depend on the costing system used, since the same input data could be used in different ways. In this
case the traditional costing system or an activity based costing system (Marx.) A costing system
should provide information to help minimize waste, but should not be wasteful in itself. In other
words, the resources required to design, implement and maintain a costing system should be less than
the benefit derived from the use of the system (Marx.) Activity based costing (ABC) assigns
manufacturing overhead costs to products in a more logical manner than the traditional approach of
simply allocating costs on the basis of machine hours. Activity based costing first assigns costs to the
activities that are the real cause of the overhead. It then assigns the cost of those activities only to

Essay On Black Panther
The Black Panther party was founded by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale in 1966. The Panthers placed
militant self defense of minority communities against the U.S Government, and fought to establish
revolutionary socialism through mass organizing and community based program. (Baggins, Brian.
Black Panther Party, www.marxists.org/history/usa/workers/black panthers/.). During the 1960 s the
civil rights movement was at its full strength. The BPP fought for change in America for African
Americans and even other minority groups too. They wrote the Black Panther: Ten Pointe Program in
the book War Against the Panthers by Huey Newton. It was a list of wants they believe they deserved
from the government. For example, point 2 in the list said We want full employment for our people ,
during this time period many African Americans and other minority groups were being discriminated
against by not being hired by the business owners. Leaving many minority people out of work, barely
being able to pay their bills. The Black Panthers believed the ... Show more content on

could take advantage of there tenants because of there skins. In the 1960s housing regulations weren t
strong, and people could take advantage of people because of there skin. So people did. Minority
groups couldn t fight back but they had The Black Panther party to fight for them. In the Panther s 10

South Stack Lighthouse History
South Stack Lighthouse, Wales Located to the northwest of Holyhead on South Stack Island, this
lighthouse is best known for its picturesque setting and also for being one of the most haunted
locations in the United Kingdom. Locals and visitors alike have reported countless ghost sightings of
former keeper Jack Jones, a man who was injured and killed during a massive storm in 1853 that
destroyed two hundred ships along the coast, including the famous vessel Royal Charter. South Stack
Lighthouse first opened in 1809 and is considered an architectural marvel. It is not a simple venture,
after all, to build a tower on the rock below steep cliffs, especially when the area is surrounded by
such rough seas. The structure originally used twenty one oil lamps but is fully automated today. It is

It was built on a rocky point in 1877 and has become an incredibly popular destination for tourists.
With a light scope of around nine miles, the structure consists of a round brick tower and a gallery

peak to take in a bird s eye view of the town. Hook Lighthouse, Ireland Also known as Hook Head
Lighthouse, this tower has watched over Hook Peninsula in County Wexford, Ireland, for nearly eight
centuries. This places it among the oldest lighthouses in the world and the oldest working one in the
country. It is said that, in the 5th century, a Welsh monk first made a beacon at this location out of
piles of stone and either local combustible products or timber as a way to guide ships into Waterford
Harbour. The lighthouse was converted to be fully automated in 1996 and is fully operational to this
day. The location also offers guided tours of the tower and a visitor s center. Creac h Lighthouse,

Why Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged
Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged Home schooling is becoming an increasingly popular choice
of education for parents in the United States of America. Homeschooling refers to the practice of
parents educating a child at home, rather than in a conventional public or private school setting (Hess
and Okun). This can take the form of individual instruction by a single teacher at home or in a small
group setting with combined resources of teachers and materials. It was estimated in a 1999 report by
the U.S. Department of Education that more than 850,000 students were being educated at home. This
number was increasing at rate of 7 to 15 percent annually (Hess and Okun). The numbers are
increasing because of the advantages for home school students. In order to promote individualized
learning, creativity, and self confidence, home schooling should be considered for more students.
Home schooling promotes individualized learning. Individualized learning is a learning environment
where a student and a teacher have one on one teaching situation. The teacher is able to focus on the
individual student. This method is beneficial because the instructor is able to focus and identify the
student s strengths, weaknesses, and needs immediately. This enables the student to know if he or she
is on the right track in the learning process. The student is better able to learn faster and cover more
material. Another reason individualized learning should be promoted is the student is able to have a
more in depth understanding of the content because it is tailored to the individual s learning styles.
These learners benefit because they are also able to get feedback as soon as the instructor examines
the work. This prevents the student from learning the subject incorrectly. Individualized learning is
obviously an advantage for home schooling students. The success of individualized learning is shown
in that some preliminary researcher suggests that children who are home schooled may outperform
their counterparts in public or private schools (Hess and Okun). When children are not in a classroom
full of other students, their creativity can flourish. Gillian Bowditch states that Home educated
children are invariably described as

What effect has the conflict in the Central African Republic had on it s children?
The conflict that Central African Republic had on its children is that they lost their innocence and that
they were forced into many actions or decisions they did not want to become apart of. The children of
the Central African Republic for an example in the article it says that many children were forced to

Theme Of The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
An Elegant Flop by Boyne John Boyne was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1971 and studied Literature at
Trinity College, Dublin, and creative writing at the university of East Anglia, Norwich. He has
published nine novels for adults and four for a younger audience, all of which are actually published
in 47 different languages, including The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas
follows the story of a nine year old boy named Bruno who reluctantly moves out his comfortable
home in Berlin to Out With because of his Father s job. After being rather bored in his new dismal
house, and given no answers by neither his parents nor servants, he is forced to stay with his older
sister who is a constant pain in the neck along with a rather brooding Lieutenant. From his window
Bruno has seen countless men and boys huddled by the barbed wire fence, scared of something he just
doesn t understand, and they were all wearing the same blue striped pyjamas. After doing a little
forbidden exploration, he meets a boy his age but not quite his size. Yet Shmuel is not here to play
with Bruno. John Boyne has demonstrated the theme of the innocence of childhood in such a way that
is rather interesting, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many argue time and time again that such an issue such as the Holocaust shouldn t be tackled through
the eyes of a frustratingly naïve boy as it trivialises the subject. As mentioned, the ominous storm that

never really finds humanity, thus the true horrors of the Holocaust isn t delivered. TBITSP is also quite
historically incorrect. These death camps were surrounded by guards and it s also surprising that a

Erp And Best Of Breed Software
A lot is being talked about in the market about ERP and Best of Breed software. ERP has been
dominating the technology area for a while now, whereas the best of breed is still struggling to find
place in the market. ERP might be an excellent platform to support any business but it has also been
criticized for not being flexible and not being able to meet specific needs of industry. This is where the
best of breed gains an advantage over the ERP systems, by developing standard software and
customizing according to the business needs. ERP and Best of Breed have their own advantages over
each other. While ERP can be used at bigger platforms where a complete solution is required, Best of
breed approach can be used when the focus is towards a particular area as integrating different
processes makes it a cumbersome process.
ERP software
Enterprise Resource Planning software is a cohesive system that is used by different organization and
businesses to integrate different applications and key operations. ERP can be used to gather, store and
handle data which include many different business process i.e. Product planning, manufacturing,
technology, human resources and marketing. In simple terms, it is essentially making things easier by
automating the time killing processed along with being efficient. ERP when performed in the right
way, can streamline process and can coordinate with different departments to have one integrated,

The J.B. by Archibald MacLeish Argues Why God Allows Evil...
If God is powerful and loving the humankind, then why does He permit evil as well as suffering in
this world? Various answers had been offered by many Christian philosophers and many victims of
suffering, but there was not a lucid answer that could settle this argument permanently. God uses
malicious acts of this world to rise up His own people and remind them that there is an opportunity
that they can posses their eternal life. Literature, especially biblical literature has exploited this
biblical nature to its fullest in various types of forms, including the play J.B. by Archibald MacLeish.
In the play J.B, Archibald MacLeish reanimates and modernizes elements taken from the story of Job
to come up with his own response to the ultimate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sarah once asked her children on a Thanksgiving Day, Has anyone of you thanked God? Really
thanked Him? (29). At first, Sarah fearfully respects God, because she already knows that her
prosperity that she has today is going to be taken by God eventually. Sarah s true temperament is not
truly revealed after the death of her five children. Has death no meaning? Pain no meaning? , Sarah
questioned J.B (109). Sarah is bitter and angry at God, because she does not expect God to take away
her loved ones that fast. She even becomes more depressed and hopeless when J.B is still faithful to
God at this point. At the end of Scene Eight when Mrs. Murphy said, And he s alone now , implying
the leaving of Sarah for her own good. Sarah is an example of fake piety that is fallen after an
astonishing punishment. Just like the story of Job where god takes away Job s animals and family, J.B
s five children are now gone along with his job as a banker. Fortunately, J.B still stays strong despite
the fact that his family is corrupting, because he believes that God will show him his guilt as one of
God s puppet so he can be released from the prison of anxiety.
All sufferings need to be comforted just like a wild fire that needs to be extinguished. Therefore, in the
story of Job, the Three Comforters come to Job and comforted him hoping that he would get a better

Essay On Phaseolus Vulgaris
The Phaseolus vulgaris, or better known as pinto beans, is known to be one of the world s healthiest
dried food. Pinto beans typically take about 90 days to grow as a dry bean, but can be harvested
sooner as green snap beans. The Phaseolus vulgaris L. plants is a dry plant that require a long growing
season in warm conditions. Pinto beans must not be planted too early, due to their intolerance for
damp or cold conditions. If the soil drops under or to 50 degrees Fahrenheit the seed will most likely
rot and if the plant is over watered it could lead to white mold in the seed, causing it to die. The
Phaseolus vulgaris L. plants are considered warm season crop; it prefers fertile and well drained soil,

Competition is defined as a struggle between equals, as well as referring to the survival of the fittest in
wake of Charles Darwin s Theory of Evolution(Went, Darwin). Interspecific competition is a form of
competition where two different species compete for the same resource in an ecosystem. Levels of
interspecific competition and how they will effect the plants within the habitat is highly dependent on
nutrient availability. (Aerts)We used the Phaseolus vulgaris as our control and Raphanus sativa as the
competition plant. The easy to grow nature of the pinto bean allowed for accurate analysis of results to
better understand how interspecies competition affects plants. Our hypothesis is that the more
competition present in the immediate environment, the smaller and weaker the pinto bean plant will
grow to be. A plant with more competition, has less nutrients available to be absorbed, causing it to
grow less successfully. Competition results in a plant s inability to maximize both growth rate and
nutrient retention. (Aerts) Weeds in gardens are an every day example of how negative competition
can be detrimental to plant

Who Is To Blame For Neil s Suicide
Boys, you must strive to find your own voice, because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you
are to find it at all. Thoreau said, Most men lead lives of quiet desperation. Don t be resigned to that.
Break out! Dead Poets Society is a movie that brings up much thought relating towards the astounding
English teacher, who s beliefs are shunned by those sceptical of his teachings, due to the suicide of a
beloved student at the private school he once taught at. The English teacher, Mr. John Keating, was
and was not to blame for the student s death. Mr. Keating might have been somewhat responsible for
the death of Neil Perry, the student, because he was a teacher with his own methods of teaching. I

it was not going to be. Mr. Keating tells Neil to stand up to his father and Neil does so by performing

Essay On Mass Customization
Chapter 7: Mass customization of products has become a common approach in manufacturing
organizations. Explain the ways in which mass customization can be applied to service firms as well.
While mass customization is a viable option in manufacturing with digital factories and employing
lean manufacturing designs, service firms have to employ a more productive environment to make
mass customization profitable. Mass customization refers to using mass production technologies to
quickly and cost effectively assemble goods that are uniquely designed to fit the demands of
individual customers (Daft, 2016, p. 271). The key challenge for service mass customization is to
translate information about consumer preferences gained through market research into a format that
can be easily used for service modularization decisions and customer contact personnel training (Haas
Kunz, n.d., p. 603). In the service arena, mass customization becomes an ongoing configuration
process with direct involvement of the customer coupled with professional advice by service
personnel who understand the configuration rules and know them by heart. A clear understanding of
the customer s needs is required, as well as a requirement by service personnel to provide the
customer clear and concise configuration options that strike the perfect balance between flexibility and
complexity. Also, a continuous interaction between frontline contact personnel and the customer is a
consequence that must be

Roger Avenger Essay
There are thousands of movies that can be watched today, so choosing the right one towatch can be
difficult at times. Therefore, movie critics write movie reviews about them, to giveviewers an
overview and as to how good the movie is in their opinion. One of the most famousmovie critics is
Roger Ebert. He evaluated many movies during his time and one of his lastreviews was over the
movie The Avengers. Roger Ebert is an adequate movie critic because hesummarizes the plot
exceptionally well, distinguishably describes the main characters, and givesan adequate final
evaluation. The movie The Avengers was released on May 4, 2012 and is a movie about sixsuperheroes
joining together to save the world (Ebert). The six superheroes are Iron Man,Captain ... Show more

In addition, to giving just the overall plot and order, Ebert also summarizes the keyevents that happen
in the five different events that he outlines. For example, he explains how theAvengers are brought
together and how the villain is dramatized when he states, The reasonthey re brought together in The
Avengers is that the Earth is under threat by the smirking Loki(Tom Hiddleston), Thor s adopted
brother, who controls the Tesseract, a pulsing cube of energythat opens a gateway to the universe;
through it, he plans to attack Earth with his fleet of reptile looking monster machines. ( Ebert, Roger)
In this quote he dramatized the villain, Loki, bystating he controls the tesseract and how he will attack
earth with his fleet of reptile monsters. Not only does Ebert effectively summarize the plot of the
movie, but he also gives a greatdescription of the main characters of the movie.Another reason that
Ebert s review of The Avengers is a quality review is the fact that hedistinguishably describes the main
characters, mentions the actor s names, and mentions thedirector of the movie at the end of the review.
Ebert does a great job of mentioning the maincharacters and describing what the character s super
powers are. As well as mentioning, thename of the actor that plays that character. For example, this is
how Ebert describes andmentions Hulk, The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is a mild mannered guy until he
gets angry, and thenhe expands into a leaping, bounding green muscle man who can rip apart pretty
much anything. (Ebert, Roger) He does a description similar too this quote for each main character in

The Bicycle Thieves
The Bicycle Thieves is an Italian Neorealist black and white movie directed by Vittorio De Sica. The
movie is about an unemployed father named Antonio Ricci, who is finding a way to recover the family
s lost bicycle. The bicycle was a very important thing that was owned by the Ricci family, but it was
stolen by a young man while Antonio was working. The movie was filmed in an outskirt of Rome.
However, this film is different from other films, because it is neither romantic nor sentimental, but it is
a movie that showcases the real life drama of the Italians after the second World War.
The editing in the last sequence of the movie The Bicycle Thieves is inconsequential in that it does
little on its own to contribute to a scene because it alludes to reality than fantasy. It continues to show
the audience a real life drama, rather than a stereotypical movie drama where fantasy is added.
Especially in the last sequence of the movie, the build up of Antonio s intensity does not need much
editing because then it will look overly dramatized. For example, with the long shot part where
Antonio finally stole the bicycle, there was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

New York. The Democratic party, of which Tweed was a powerful member, illegally counted
Republican votes and doctored Democratic votes to outnumbered them. A letter printed in the paper,
supposedly from Sam Tilden, another Democrat, asked New York politicos to send in their estimates

they were legitimate or not. In retaliation, Tammany raised mayor John Hoffman prohibited anyone

Republican deputies. When the polls closed, Democrats delayed or made distractions, allowing their

Rachel Hutter: Engineer, Imagineer, and Mother If you could have dinner with any person, living or
dead, who would it be and why? This question is most commonly asked at an event filled with a large
group of strangers, as an icebreaker. Many would typically answer, George Washington, Ben Franklin,
Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and maybe if someone wants variety they could say someone
like Marie Curie. All of these answers are superficial and simply the first historical person that
someone could think of. In fact, I know I would have answered with George Washington. He was the
first one to my mind, but why? Do I really want to have dinner with George Washington? What would
I even talk to him about? I imagine the conversation would go something like this, Me: So uhm, I just
wanted to thank you for crossing the Delaware River and stuff, that was pretty amazing and really
impacted the rest of our country and our freedoms, thank you. George: Yeah happy to, I m glad I did
that too. *Proceed to eat lunch quietly because I don t have questions nor really care. I could just read
a history book and know the information I would ask from him. So when I was asked, what engineer
would I want to have dinner with? it made me really hesitate and actually think for a minute. To then
specify further and be asked what women engineer I would want dinner with made me really self
reflect. What questions would I want to ask another female engineer? What are my final goals? What

The Origin Of Transatlantic Accents In The English Language
Transatlantic accent had a strong resemblance to musical type of speaking compared to details that
accompany the world s many leading phonetics that come from a sustained form of education. The
fact that transatlantic accent was mainly spoken by the affluent people in the society, means that it
copied the phonetics that educated people used to speak and dropped the letter r form the words used
in the accent, especially from the British accents. In fact, transatlantic accent upon embracing the
culture of r less pronunciation was promoted as the correct and right international English. Schools of
acting, speech, and elocution adopted transatlantic accent and the r less pronunciation as a method and
taught it in the schools. Speech schools in the United States advanced the accent, thereby, attracting so
many people from the elite families to join acting, elocution, and speech schools in order to learn the
transatlantic accent (Jenny).
The official origin of transatlantic accent traces its roots in Australian phonetics. The accent was
popularized by the William Tilly who taught in Columbia University, who introduced the Australian
phonetic consistency in the United States. The professor introduced the consistency of Australian
phonetics using a conscious standard of American speech. The phonetic grew to define the American
classical accent that was eventually identified as transatlantic accent that started declining during the
Second World War. Transatlantic attracted

Oppression In Women
Oppression is perpetuated in our society through supremacy and discrimination. Women of color have
been subjected to the justifications of unfair treatment from their oppressors both male and female for
generations and are expected to identify with misconceived definitions that have been externally
attributed to their own realities. There is an immense pressure on the women of color who have broken
out of the cycle of this socioeconomic imprisonment to maintain their standing within society s good

and modest demeanor are enough to erase the layers of transgenerational trauma from sight of the very
same oppressors that caused it. At the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

pieces mention Williams comfortability within her own skin. Both pieces accurately convey the ability
she has to bend situations to her will and thrive under circumstances of her own creation. However,
Rodrick takes on an underlying tone of critical commentary whereas Rankine uses one of comradery
and empowerment. Throughout his writing, Rodrick makes Williams out to be someone who has
completely bought into materialism and has a knack for self indulging gluttony. Zeroing in on
irrelevant comments about her lifestyle (such as her excitement to get her nails done and her
unenthusiastic response to being reminded about morning practice) Rodrick writes, No athlete alive
dominates a sport like Serena Williams does tennis. But on the whole, she d rather be eating a
cinnamon roll (Rodrick). In context, a comment like this serves to police and shame her unrestricted
nutritional choices. His writing lacks perspective and, although he does occasionally intersperse tidbits
of factual information into his dearth narrative, he tends to do so in a scathingly dismissive way.
Rankine does not trivialize Williams

The Origin Of Modern Human Behavior
The origin of modern human behavior is a subject in anthropology that accumulates much debate.
Cognition is the dominant factor in such behavior, therefore raises the question, when did this
separation of intelligent or modern thought from the primitive come to daily behavior for our genus?
There are two such answers that hold experts in the field captive in debate: the rapid imagination
revolution in the European centrailized Upper Paleolithic, and the steadiness of cognitive growth
provided first in Africa during the Middle Paleolithic. Although each argument provides supportive
evidence for their perspective claims, the more naturally convincing shows this creative revolution
taking place much earlier than the Upper Paleolithic. This explanations human cognition developing
with no brisk advantageous revolutionary response, and instead by gradual means. This
metamorphosis follows the pattern of biological human evolution. My argument combats the
imagination revolution claim to the origins of creativity using specific artifacts dated earlier than those
of European restrictions. Furthermore, it is the lack of excavation in Africa and the conditions of the
terrain itself that pose problematic preservation of artifacts, unlike in Europe, to exonerate this
innovative exclusivity. These pieces of evidence in Africa exemplify a higher process of thinking,
commonly those showing deliberate means of bead and rock art used for both personal functions of

Public management over a course of time has seen an influx in societal workforce dilemmas which

Gary Hamel (2011) spoke on the essence of: the reinvention of management techniques which,
challenged managers to rethink how they perform operational functions; in order to, create a solid
structure within the current market. Additionally, his [Hamel] presentation broke the seal on stagnate
managers and a need to reinvent themselves. Often in many organizational cultures there lays very
rigid, traditional and obsolete practices which struggles to remain existent. Organizations are now
flooded with multigenerational groups; where baby boomers sought to develop their succession plan
exit; now baby boomer are forecasted to have an large representation within the future workforce
alongside generation X and Y s. In the past, managers were more seasoned, traditional in
administration processes and managed a younger workforce. Due to the current market shift [and
potentially the future], managers are comprised of recent college graduates, ingenuities on
developments, and overseers of both seasoned and youthful employees. The idea of managing the
future workforce will require nuggets given by Gary Hamal (2011): (1) Challenge the change which is
currently changing, (2) construct innovations that involves everyone, and (3) manage the diversified
commodity of knowledge effectively. Authors, Martha Crumpacker and Jill Crumpacker (2007) stated:

Literature Review On HIV
Literature review The emergence of drug resistant strains of human immunodeficiency virus( HIV)
and treatment failure can result from non adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART). (Michel
Morin;2000) Non adherences to medication is widespread among patients (Margaret A. Chesney;
2000).An estimated average rate of patient that non adhere to the antiretroviral (ARV) treatment
therapy ranges from about 50 70%( Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) HIV becomes drug resistance when
the ARV treatments are not adhered to. Once the patient has taken their antiretroviral (ARVs)
medication then stops the HIV is able to replicate and will do so at a rapid rate. As a result mutations
are very common (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There can be one or more mutations that might
block the working of the ARVS making them less effected or even completely ineffective. i.e. the
virus will become resistant to any of the drugs and multiply. (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There
are many factors as to why patients do not adhere to their ARV treatment. The main factors for non
adherence would appear to be patient related, this would include patients that are alcohol and
substance abusers. However there are many other reasons, that could contribute, such as inconvenient
dosing frequency, dietary restrictions, pill burden, side effects, area which the patient is located and
patient health care provider relationships; and the system of care (Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) this
factors/reasons mentioned above can be improved by clarifying treatment plans and perhaps be able to
work around the patient schedule or lifestyle also the patient and their loved ones should be educated
in order to understand the risks and for the to create a financial plan. Medical centers/clinics should
also have support groups for the patients and should distribute pamphlets (like the ones that have
added been provided by ICAS) There are HIV related stigmas and discriminations that refer to the
prejudice, abuse and negativity that is shown towards people living HIV and aids.in many countries

Youth in Crime Essay

December 3, 2012 Essay # 5
Stereotyping happens all the time, more than people seem to believe it does. Appearance, location, and
race all deal with how people as well as police authority characterize individuals without truly
knowing how that person is. Race is one of the biggest factors when it comes to criminalization
because of what people see on the media and from what they are told. It usually is the younger
generation that are viewed as criminals not only because of where they live and who they associate
themselves with, or with what is seen on the media but also because some young people come from a
family history of criminals. The issue here is that not all young people are criminals; but when living

The media is a source of contribution to how society believes that police figures should punish certain
races because they believe that a certain race is more of a threat to them and their community than
another race.
In spite of the media and police authorities determining who are the main race/group of criminals; this
does not take away from the other issue that youngsters face. Even though they come from a area of
high crime rates, and/or come from the same racial background that is sought out to be a threat to
others, a wide group of these youngsters are ones that are not involved in any act of crime, or gang,
they go to school, and participate in community programs, but yet are still stereotyped as criminals
because of their appearance. According to Rios who interviewed a boy named J.T. he states, Despite
actively avoiding delinquency and never being arrested or suspended, J.T. believed that sometimes he
was treated worse than his delinquent peers (143). J.T. also told Rios that even though he tried to stay
away from trouble, authority figures often implicated him in the deviance and crime that his friends
committed, (143). This was a boy who got good grades in school, had a mother who worked hard,
who did what she could to discipline him well, and who participated in an afterschool program at the

as guilty. Many young boys try and avoid

The Case Of Riley Mahan Essay
Riley Mahan was reportedly born on 1/26/1997 in Ventura, California to the intact union of Kevin and
Kathleen Mahan. Mr. Mahan, the elder, worked as the director of theatre lighting at the Shakespeare
Theatre in Washington, D.C. before his death in January 2016. The defendant s mother, Mrs. Mahan,
also worked in the theatre business as a stage manager for several years. The defendant is the oldest of
two sons born to the Mahans. His brother, Bryce, is 14 years old and has been identified on the autism
spectrum according to Mrs. Mahan. His parents have been divorced for several years. The defendant
reportedly lived in California until he was two years old before relocating to the Northern Virginia
area. In March 2015, their family home was destroyed by a fire. Although no one was physically hurt
in the fire, as no one was home at the time, Mrs. Mahan believes the trauma from losing the home and
the death of his father contributed to her son s mental health symptoms. She described periods of the
defendant displaying appropriate, calm behavior that could vacillate in mood and behavior quickly
without a known trigger. She described her son as kind, smart, and helpful, but admitted that he has
met some traumatic disappointments in the last couple of years.
Mr. Mahan graduated from Woodson High School after first attending Robinson Secondary School
through 10th grade. He offered that he was classified as eligible for special educational services during

Dharma in Service to Vinaya Essays
India is renowned as an incubator of religion. The South Asian nation s countless sects have it widely
known for its deep, abiding spirituality. In some respects, the story of India is the story of conflict
among the most abided of these faiths. Even today, India s political landscape is defined by the
struggle between those who would insist that religion is nationality (Islam) and those who maintain
that, as a historical entity, India is essentially Hindu and all other faiths are interlopers. India is replete
with the history and shrines of the Hindu faith, though its most famous shrine, the Taj Mahal, is as
Muslim as Mecca. Nonetheless, it is a Hindu aura that permeates the India of the Western imagination.

BUDDHISM BEFORE ASHOKA Early Buddhism was wracked with factionalism in the century
following the death of Gautama Buddha, a situation that did not improve with the convocation of the
Second Buddhist Council. Primarily, the dissention within Buddhism stemmed from disagreement
over asceticism as a necessary part of monastic life, with certain sects advocating the strict discipline
commonly associated with the wandering monks of Hinduism and others embracing the ostensibly
Bacchanal yet introspective ethic most associated by Westerners with The Buddha. Naturally, many
controversies arose over these competing narratives concerning the nature of The Buddha, and, though
each camp has since split into the myriad disciplines Buddhism is known for today, every succeeding
schism is an analog of the first, a battle between the essentially Indian (and therefore Hindu) ideal of
Vinaya and the dogged quest for Dharma.

Ashoka s devotion to spiritual rule might be found in his family tree; his grandfather Chandragupta,

The Artistic And Architectural Evidence For The Nubian...

ART 2813

Describe the artistic and architectural evidence for the Nubian assimilation of Egyptian forms and
ideas.
Nubians art and architecture is traced back hundreds of years. They urbanized one of the oldest and
utmost civilizations in their region until they lost their last empire years ago. Nubia was a land of
expected wealth and prosperity and Sudan had remained the main home of Nubians through their long
history, but many live in Egypt today. Nubian art impacted Egyptian Art through their past art and
architecture, one can see how glorious and influential these group of people were to the world.

These forms were perhaps used to satisfy the desire to fill the void with selected or mixed elements
that may have resulted in a kind of chaos or art. It can be distinguishing by the manner in which the
artist regulates the elements of his composition by reflecting all the elements of the design which are
used for functional and aesthetic purposes.
The Nubians were also remarkable in their architecture. Ancient constructions that appeared to be
palaces at their time are discovered throughout Northern Sudan. Archeologists excavated the land and
identified few dwellings that date back to the pre Kerma period. Remarkably large huts reaching seven
meters in diameter have been found and interpreted by some as residence of wealthy individuals. The
architectural materials, structures, and the presence of staircases in most of the palaces suggest that
they were mostly built of more than one floor. The majority of the palaces had a rectangular or square
plans with long corridors and narrow rectangular rooms. The temples of the Kushite Kingdom were
built of durable materials, such as red fired bricks and stories that helped them to endure the ravages
of time and nature. Temple columns were worked with extensive designs curved to shape lotus flowers
and the heads of gods Bes and Hathor. One known Egyptian temple is The temple of Ramses II, and
the temple of Nefertiti dedicated to Hathor, they stood for a very long time, until they had a

The Perks of Being a Wallflower , presents Charlie as a scared child who transforms into an adjusted
teenager. The Perks of Being a Wallflower , is a young adult novel published in 1999 by Stephen

Charlie is not a high school freshman given his tidiness though he is a bit awkward and shy in the

his development of new friendships, experiences, sex and drug life. There is a revelation of a disturbed
childhood that present traumatic repercussions in the current life of Charlie. There are various themes
running through the novel with the theme of drug use taking a center stage of influencing the
characters through their journey through childhood to adulthood in the novel. There is no clear
indication of the exact location of Charlie within his letters other than assumptions of his being close
to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This clue comes from the fact that some of Charlie s friends and his
brother attended Penn State. Also, when he drives to Ohio for Christmas within two hours that is the
probable location for his departure. Another revelation about his location comes through his mention
of the Fort Pitt Tunnel that is in Pittsburgh and this takes care of the discovery of his location. Some of

Naturalism by Garland Naturalism is a literary movement that encapsulates the struggles of the
common population. Hamlin Garland presents an excellent example of Naturalist literature in his short
story Under the Lion s Paw , published in 1889. In this short story, many of Dr. Stephen doCarmo s
characteristics of Naturalism are visible. Dr. doCarmo describes three broad characteristics of
Naturalism: individuals are subjected to larger uncontainable forces, political undertones are prevalent
within the work, and the subject matter of the work appeals to the middle class. Under the Lion s Paw

Mr. Butler represents capitalistic society taking advantage of the common people: Mr. Haskins and his

resistance in the form of an unexpected price increase, to which he rebuts, But you ve done nothing to
make it so. You hain t added a cent. I put it all there myself, expectin to buy (Garland 761). Garland,
as if to emphasize the element of naturalism, writes, Butler laughed and has Butler respond to Mr.
Haskins, The law will sing another tune (Garland 761). Throughout this story the reader is encouraged
to pull for the underdog. Mr. Haskins and his family represent a family met with hardship, an
underdog, potentially pulling themselves up from the bottom and ascending towards success. This
subject matter would be unknown to a middle class, well to do family, and as Dr. doCarmo explains:
Naturalist works often deal with subjects most comfortable middle class readers wouldn t consider
part of their ordinary lives (doCarmo). Most middle class readers have never faced losing everything
such as livelihood, money, and home. This automatically captivates them in the beginning of the story.
Garland holds the attention of the middle class by reminding the reader of this unknown throughout
the story: It was the memory of this homelessness, and the fear of its coming again, that spurred

Archetypal Characters In Hamlet
Through Hamlet, William Shakespeare reveals that madness is driven by different factors, and
whether someone is truly mad depends on their inner self and life struggles. In the play the characters
of Hamlet and Ophelia are both mad. Shakespeare uses archetypal characters to compare one who is
driven to madness and one who is only pretending.
Ophelia is the good girl who has gone mad . Ophelia s archetypal innocence decieved herself and led
her down a dark path. Ophelia fears doing things wrong so her strategy is to things right, with that
being said she has become a pon in everyone s game. In the games of her father she is nothing but
obedient, I shall obey my Lord. (I.iii. Line 145). Essentially when obeying her father, Ophelia has no
control over her body, her relationships, or her choices. Though in the beginning Hamlet seemed to be
a romantic he later became abusive which was apart of his mousetrap , but Ophelia became blind
because of how naive she was. The problem is that her inner self was so obedient that she could never
fight back when she needed to. In act 3 Hamlet seems to know that Ophelia is spying on him for her

Louis Riel was born in 1844. He was captured and executed by Canadian authorities in November 16,

the Metis by sending surveyors to the Red River Valley. The Surveyors treated the Metis quite badly,
even caused physical abuses. The Metis needed someone who understood the Canadian law and
willing to help them in defending their rights. They chose Louis Riel as their leader. When Riel knew
how the surveyors treated his people, he and some followers quickly reacted to the threat posed by the
Canadian government. Riel formed an organization called the Comite National des Metis to defend his

Benefit Of Artificial Technology
Today we are living in a second renaissance, because of the wide spread of knowledge about our
world. With knowledge spreading like fire, new and better technology has transformed our society,
such as communication, transportation, and weaponry systems. Through the field of engineering, now
AI (known as artificial intelligence) is next in line to transform our society. In the American society
robots have taken a bad rap, because of the belief that robots will take over jobs. Negative views over
artificial intelligence can be even seen in movies such as The Terminator . But however the truth about
artificial intelligence is that it is beneficial for the future of our society because it will create new and
better jobs, it also will better our living conditions, and will impact the power of America in our world.
Making artificial intelligence better and smarter in America will benefit us because it will create better
and new jobs. It is true that new artificial intelligence technology will displace jobs, but however by
taking away laborious jobs, it will forge a movement of new companies and help Americans pursue
enjoyable jobs that are made. For example, CEO of Narrative Science, Stuart Frankel, said Look at
almost every technology job that exists in any enterprise today. None of those jobs existed twenty

High School Should Not Be Legal
What is the most common reason why high school would go to college? My old friend Sean Kisch is
going to graduate with a major in music. His eldest sister will be done with her degree in modern
dance this semester. Looking at myself, I am not that far along. I attempted to navigate around college
because it was seen as too expensive. The mountain of debt for going to a private Christian college is
to grate to pay off. Most people are not made out of money. The money may not be the case because
an alternative does exist, it just is not as glorious. A person can obtain an associate s degree at a
community college for considerably less. Which is the choice I have made. I remember watching part
of my brothers Dave Ramsey financial piece university video. It stated that most high school teens
have the expectation of making mountains of cash. Most expected after college, they would make
around one hundred thousand dollars or more. That figure is much lower, an entry level position with
a college degree is between thirty and thirty five thousand. If you survive the odds of finishing school,
there is still the mammoth task of finding a job. The majority of student who graduate do not have any
not enough experience to enter most jobs. My friend Sean is going to Seedarville Univercity in Ohio,
he will have around forty to eighty thousand dollars of debt unless his parents are paying for it. My

Going back to the original question, what is considered graffiti? McAuliffe and Iveson proposed an
idea, asking whether graffiti is still graffiti if it is taken from its illegal context on the walls of the city

Affordable Care Act Tax Penalties
When the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into legislature in 2010, it had a large
impact on every American. If you are a citizen of this country, you face the possibility of a penalty if
you do not have the proper health insurance coverage. At DS Financial Advisors, Inc., we are here to
help you determine if you are a tax payer who is facing one of these fines. Our skilled team of
accountants and tax preparers in Pennsylvania know all of the details related to the Affordable Care
Act, and how they may influence your next years tax return.
What is the Affordable Care Act
This health insurance coverage program was designed to lower the costs of health care while
increasing the productivity and results seen by patients. Stipulations set forth with the Affordable Care
Act ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to receive health coverage. At the same time,
hospitals and doctors offices are expected to streamline their costs while continuing to provide above
average services. Doing these two things in combination allows public and private health insurance
systems to offer coverage to Americans at a reduced rate.
To facilitate the entire program, citizens are forced to either have health coverage of some sort, or
suffer a financial penalty. There are some exceptions

Federal Scholarships Benefits
A student can also apply for federal scholarships. These scholarships are given to students that need it
through the government. The different types of federal scholarships are as following: up to five
thousand eight hundred fifteen dollars for federal pell, up to eight hundred dollars for federal
supplemental educational opportunity grant, a minimum of one thousand five hundred dollars for
access missouri grant, and up to two thousand three hundred dollars for federal work study. If one
chooses to do work study it is approximately 10 hours a week, the pay is seven dollars sixty five cents,
and it goes straight towards his or her tuition (Missouri Baptist University). If a student is eligible for
these scholarships, it is another way to make the costly tuition seem not as expensive. These
scholarships are harder to acquire though.
Loans are nearly essential when paying for college. A student would take out a student loan and pay
the bank back in payments over the years. This allows a student to have enough money to still be able
to pay for other necessary things. Unfortunately depending on a student s age, he or she is only
allowed to have a loan of so much money. A freshman in college may only have a loan of nine

A student studying communications studies would qualify for a semester long internship in Los
Angeles, California. The internship would be twenty to forty hours a week, which would be spread
over a three day schedule. He or she would gain 16 credits, including core courses and electives, while
on the trip (Council for Christian Colleges Universities). Although it is an amazing experience, it is
quite costly to have the opportunity for this internship. This specific trip would cost a student
approximately seventeen thousand dollars (Council for Christian Colleges Universities). This would
not only be a great learning experience, but it would look great on job

Analysis Of How Blunt Are You On The Grid
A collaborating style is a type of conflict management style that is high in both assertiveness and
cooperativeness. When I took the Where Are You on the Grid? In Family Communication I got a 31
on collaborating. I also took a quiz on Buzzfeed called How Blunt Are You Actually? And I was
deemed Very Blunt . The quiz elaborated and said You re incredibly honest, but you know the line
between honest and mean. I personally, believe communication is more efficient when an individual
says whatever they need to say. While there is fine line between mean and honest, I have defiantly
found that working as a Student Advisor. The book mentioned collaborating requires individuals to
integrate the needs of both parties to the conflict so that

Empty Road Spaces
Of the different road spaces around your truck, the space in front of you is the most important. If you
ever get into an accident, it will likely be with something in your direction of travel. While it s true
that you want to maintain empty space to the sides of your rig whenever possible, you must always
allow plenty of empty road space in front. That one time when you re following too closely because
you re behind your delivery schedule, may be the time when that car in front hits its brakes too hard
for you to avoid a collision.
Remember that unlike you, people driving small vehicles don t understand that large trucks can t brake
as rapidly as they. The car in front will not take your stopping distance into account when they brake.

Blaise Pascal s Argument For The Existence Of God
Blaise Pascal was born on June 19th 1623 in Clermont Ferrand, France. As he established himself to
be a prominent French mathematician, physicist, inventor, and religious philosopher, he advanced the
fields of study in all of these subjects, such as inventing the calculator or improving the study of
fluids. When it comes to philosophy, he laid the foundation for the modern theory of probabilities. The
idea of Pascal s Wager was one of his most prominent pieces of thought. Pascal s Wager argues that
we don t know whether God exists, therefore we should play it safe and believe in him instead of
being sorry. Reason can not settle which way people incline, but a belief of a relevant outcome can.
The determination of this theory was based off of finite or infinite gains or losses. There were four
possible outcomes of probability where Pascal used to promote the belief in the existence of God. His
arguments for the existence can be defined between the Super dominance argument, the expectations
argument, and the dominating expectations argument. All arguments put a wager on believing in God,
basically putting a bet on their lives. As philosophers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Intellectualists state that is is impossible to adopt a belief just because we determine to. Believing and
disbelieving are choices that are made by each individual, no one should decide what people believe
in. For example, if a person walked up to you and said I will pay you one million dollars for believing
that grass is red. Can you adopt this belief by simply wishing to? No, many people object to Pascal s
Wager because of this reason. You can not force a person in believe something they don t want to.
Pascal s Wager gives no legitimate evidence to convince that God exist, it simply states that we would
be well advised to gable in believing for the existence of God. Evidently, people should not believe in
God if they don t already do

Employee Paid Time
Effectively managing and retaining today s human capital is a continual process that is affected by
every policy, procedure and decision related to people (Brundage Koziel, 2010). There are benefits of
paid time off other than reducing the amount of unscheduled time off. Not all employers provide
employees with paid time off, but for those that do it would be in the best interest of the organization
to have a written policy to prevent confusion. First, employees are able to manage their work/life
balance. If employees have 12 PTO days to use throughout the year, they will plan to use their PTO
according to upcoming events in their lives. Employees will be able to schedule time off to take care
of personal issues and leave some PTO available

Macro Explanations Of Poverty
Structural theories, or macro explanations, approach the issue of poverty by focusing on institutional
and organizational conditions. Mid level or meta theories bridge the gap between micro and macro, or
individual and structural explanations. They connect the individual people and places with the
dynamic patterns and relationships that contribute to poverty. Tickamyer provides a number of
examples for both kinds of explanations.
Modernization is a structural explanation that sees rural poverty as a result of a lack of economic and
industrial development. According to modernization, traditional values and practices prevented the
acceptance of new technologies and institutions. This point of view looks past the individual and

Immigration Is A Major Issue
Immigration is a major issue in the 2016 presidential election. Millions of undocumented immigrants
live in the U.S. and border agents spend so much time apprehending illegal immigrants that agencies
cannot focus on criminal and terrorist threats. The growing awareness that our immigration system is
dysfunctional has affected the candidate s position on the issue. The candidates I have chosen to
highlight are Democrat Hillary Clinton, Republican Donald Trump and Libertarian Gary Johnson.
Hillary Clinton, Democratic candidate stated: We have to finally and once and for all fix our
immigration system this is a family issue. It s an economic issue too, but it is at heart a family issue. If
we claim we are for family, then we have to pull together and resolve the outstanding issues around
our broken immigration system. The American people support comprehensive immigration reform not
just because it s the right thing to do and it is but because it will strengthen families, strengthen our
economy, and strengthen our country. That s why we can t wait any longer, we can t wait any longer
for a path to full and equal citizenship. (https://www.hillaryclinton.com)
Clinton promises she will work to ensure a fair and just immigration system. She is fighting for an
America where every family has a sense of belonging. She believes it is important to keep families
together and ensure a more human immigration enforcement system instead of breaking up

  • 2. Major General Sherman Outline On November 15, 1864, Major General William T. Sherman received direct orders from president Abraham Lincoln to a very rare but devastating tactic. Lincoln ordered General Sherman to march his troops from Atlanta, Georgia to Savannah, Georgia. The total distance the army covered was nearly 400 miles from city to city. The trek was long and difficult for the soldiers but was even worse for any family who lived in their path. The purpose of this march was to destroy Confederate supply lines and split the South in two halves. General Sherman used the tactic which earned the name scorched earth due to the harsh methods used. Anywhere the 60,000 man army traveled, they destroyed and burned any obstacle that they encountered, whether it be travelers, families, or even entire towns. Lincoln knew this would strike terror into the Confederate side and decrease their population by thousands. The total fatality count is undetermined because of the mass slaughtering and burning. ... Men carried meat, guns, clothing, ammunition, but destroyed wagons and homes. Sherman s soldiers could survive at first because the men had knowledge of how to live off of the land. • 3. Activity Based Costing And How It Works I chose to write about activity based costing. I chose to write this paper because I wanted to know more about activity based costing and how it works. According to our text, activity based costing (ABC) has received a lot of attention since the 90 s. ABC has a lot of more details and can be more complicated than all the other costing methods, however it s more accurate. Costing systems are information systems. They require a specific type of information such as direct labour hours and units produced, to be of value. It is from the input data that product costs and other information are determined according to the specific costing system defined methodology. The results obtained would depend on the costing system used, since the same input data could be used in different ways. In this case the traditional costing system or an activity based costing system (Marx.) A costing system should provide information to help minimize waste, but should not be wasteful in itself. In other words, the resources required to design, implement and maintain a costing system should be less than the benefit derived from the use of the system (Marx.) Activity based costing (ABC) assigns manufacturing overhead costs to products in a more logical manner than the traditional approach of simply allocating costs on the basis of machine hours. Activity based costing first assigns costs to the activities that are the real cause of the overhead. It then assigns the cost of those activities only to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Panthers placed militant self defense of minority communities against the U.S Government, and fought to establish revolutionary socialism through mass organizing and community based program. (Baggins, Brian. Black Panther Party, www.marxists.org/history/usa/workers/black panthers/.). During the 1960 s the civil rights movement was at its full strength. The BPP fought for change in America for African Americans and even other minority groups too. They wrote the Black Panther: Ten Pointe Program in the book War Against the Panthers by Huey Newton. It was a list of wants they believe they deserved from the government. For example, point 2 in the list said We want full employment for our people , during this time period many African Americans and other minority groups were being discriminated against by not being hired by the business owners. South Stack Lighthouse History South Stack Lighthouse, Wales Located to the northwest of Holyhead on South Stack Island, this lighthouse is best known for its picturesque setting and also for being one of the most haunted locations in the United Kingdom. Locals and visitors alike have reported countless ghost sightings of former keeper Jack Jones, a man who was injured and killed during a massive storm in 1853 that destroyed two hundred ships along the coast, including the famous vessel Royal Charter. South Stack Lighthouse first opened in 1809 and is considered an architectural marvel. It is not a simple venture, after all, to build a tower on the rock below steep cliffs, especially when the area is surrounded by such rough seas. • 6. Why Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged Home schooling is becoming an increasingly popular choice of education for parents in the United States of America. Homeschooling refers to the practice of parents educating a child at home, rather than in a conventional public or private school setting (Hess and Okun). This can take the form of individual instruction by a single teacher at home or in a small group setting with combined resources of teachers and materials. It was estimated in a 1999 report by the U.S. Department of Education that more than 850,000 students were being educated at home. This number was increasing at rate of 7 to 15 percent annually (Hess and Okun). The numbers are increasing because of the advantages for home school students. In order to promote individualized learning, creativity, and self confidence, home schooling should be considered for more students. Home schooling promotes individualized learning. Individualized learning is a learning environment where a student and a teacher have one on one teaching situation. The teacher is able to focus on the individual student. This method is beneficial because the instructor is able to focus and identify the student s strengths, weaknesses, and needs immediately. This enables the student to know if he or she is on the right track in the learning process. The student is better able to learn faster and cover more material. Another reason individualized learning should be promoted is the student is able to have a more in depth understanding of the content because it is tailored to the individual s learning styles. These learners benefit because they are also able to get feedback as soon as the instructor examines the work. This prevents the student from learning the subject incorrectly. Individualized learning is obviously an advantage for home schooling students. The success of individualized learning is shown in that some preliminary researcher suggests that children who are home schooled may outperform their counterparts in public or private schools (Hess and Okun). When children are not in a classroom full of other students, their creativity can flourish. Gillian Bowditch states that Home educated children are invariably described as ... • 10. The J.B. by Archibald MacLeish Argues Why God Allows Evil... If God is powerful and loving the humankind, then why does He permit evil as well as suffering in this world? Various answers had been offered by many Christian philosophers and many victims of suffering, but there was not a lucid answer that could settle this argument permanently. God uses malicious acts of this world to rise up His own people and remind them that there is an opportunity that they can posses their eternal life. Literature, especially biblical literature has exploited this biblical nature to its fullest in various types of forms, including the play J.B. by Archibald MacLeish. Sarah s true temperament is not truly revealed after the death of her five children. Has death no meaning? Pain no meaning? , Sarah questioned J.B (109). Sarah is bitter and angry at God, because she does not expect God to take away her loved ones that fast. She even becomes more depressed and hopeless when J.B is still faithful to God at this point. Pinto beans typically take about 90 days to grow as a dry bean, but can be harvested sooner as green snap beans. The Phaseolus vulgaris L. plants is a dry plant that require a long growing season in warm conditions. Pinto beans must not be planted too early, due to their intolerance for damp or cold conditions. If the soil drops under or to 50 degrees Fahrenheit the seed will most likely rot and if the plant is over watered it could lead to white mold in the seed, causing it to die. Levels of interspecific competition and how they will effect the plants within the habitat is highly dependent on nutrient availability. (Aerts)We used the Phaseolus vulgaris as our control and Raphanus sativa as the competition plant. The easy to grow nature of the pinto bean allowed for accurate analysis of results to better understand how interspecies competition affects plants. Our hypothesis is that the more competition present in the immediate environment, the smaller and weaker the pinto bean plant will grow to be. A plant with more competition, has less nutrients available to be absorbed, causing it to grow less successfully. Competition results in a plant s inability to maximize both growth rate and nutrient retention. Explain the ways in which mass customization can be applied to service firms as well. While mass customization is a viable option in manufacturing with digital factories and employing lean manufacturing designs, service firms have to employ a more productive environment to make mass customization profitable. Mass customization refers to using mass production technologies to quickly and cost effectively assemble goods that are uniquely designed to fit the demands of individual customers (Daft, 2016, p. 271). The key challenge for service mass customization is to translate information about consumer preferences gained through market research into a format that can be easily used for service modularization decisions and customer contact personnel training (Haas Kunz, n.d., p. 603). In the service arena, mass customization becomes an ongoing configuration process with direct involvement of the customer coupled with professional advice by service personnel who understand the configuration rules and know them by heart. A clear understanding of the customer s needs is required, as well as a requirement by service personnel to provide the customer clear and concise configuration options that strike the perfect balance between flexibility and complexity. The movie is about an unemployed father named Antonio Ricci, who is finding a way to recover the family s lost bicycle. The bicycle was a very important thing that was owned by the Ricci family, but it was stolen by a young man while Antonio was working. The movie was filmed in an outskirt of Rome. However, this film is different from other films, because it is neither romantic nor sentimental, but it is a movie that showcases the real life drama of the Italians after the second World War. The editing in the last sequence of the movie The Bicycle Thieves is inconsequential in that it does little on its own to contribute to a scene because it alludes to reality than fantasy. It continues to show the audience a real life drama, rather than a stereotypical movie drama where fantasy is added. Although each argument provides supportive evidence for their perspective claims, the more naturally convincing shows this creative revolution taking place much earlier than the Upper Paleolithic. Literature Review On HIV Literature review The emergence of drug resistant strains of human immunodeficiency virus( HIV) and treatment failure can result from non adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART). (Michel Morin;2000) Non adherences to medication is widespread among patients (Margaret A. Chesney; 2000).An estimated average rate of patient that non adhere to the antiretroviral (ARV) treatment therapy ranges from about 50 70%( Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) HIV becomes drug resistance when the ARV treatments are not adhered to. Once the patient has taken their antiretroviral (ARVs) medication then stops the HIV is able to replicate and will do so at a rapid rate. As a result mutations are very common (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There can be one or more mutations that might block the working of the ARVS making them less effected or even completely ineffective. i.e. the virus will become resistant to any of the drugs and multiply. (Jen Gorgan and Ruth Suter;2009) There are many factors as to why patients do not adhere to their ARV treatment. The main factors for non adherence would appear to be patient related, this would include patients that are alcohol and substance abusers. However there are many other reasons, that could contribute, such as inconvenient dosing frequency, dietary restrictions, pill burden, side effects, area which the patient is located and patient health care provider relationships; and the system of care (Margaret A. Chesney; 2000) this factors/reasons mentioned above can be improved by clarifying treatment plans and perhaps be able to work around the patient schedule or lifestyle also the patient and their loved ones should be educated in order to understand the risks and for the to create a financial plan. Naturally, many controversies arose over these competing narratives concerning the nature of The Buddha, and, though each camp has since split into the myriad disciplines Buddhism is known for today, every succeeding schism is an analog of the first, a battle between the essentially Indian (and therefore Hindu) ideal of Vinaya and the dogged quest for Dharma. ASHOKA MAURYA, NOT WITHOUT SORROW Ashoka s rise to the head of the Mauryan Empire was necessarily brutish, owing to the battle for succession that would leave siblings dead and the empire trembling. It would require four years of war to consolidate his position and the deaths of all but one of his brothers, Tissa, whom he left alone because he was a religious man. The roots of Ashoka s devotion to spiritual rule might be found in his family tree; his grandfather Chandragupta, the founder of the Mauryan Dynasty was said to have become a Jain ascetic, abdicating and ... The Nubians were also remarkable in their architecture. Ancient constructions that appeared to be palaces at their time are discovered throughout Northern Sudan. Archeologists excavated the land and identified few dwellings that date back to the pre Kerma period. Remarkably large huts reaching seven meters in diameter have been found and interpreted by some as residence of wealthy individuals. The architectural materials, structures, and the presence of staircases in most of the palaces suggest that they were mostly built of more than one floor. The majority of the palaces had a rectangular or square plans with long corridors and narrow rectangular rooms. The temples of the Kushite Kingdom were built of durable materials, such as red fired bricks and stories that helped them to endure the ravages of time and nature. Hamlin Garland presents an excellent example of Naturalist literature in his short story Under the Lion s Paw , published in 1889. In this short story, many of Dr. Stephen doCarmo s characteristics of Naturalism are visible. Dr. doCarmo describes three broad characteristics of Naturalism: individuals are subjected to larger uncontainable forces, political undertones are prevalent within the work, and the subject matter of the work appeals to the middle class. Most middle class readers have never faced losing everything such as livelihood, money, and home. This automatically captivates them in the beginning of the story. Archetypal Characters In Hamlet Through Hamlet, William Shakespeare reveals that madness is driven by different factors, and whether someone is truly mad depends on their inner self and life struggles. In the play the characters of Hamlet and Ophelia are both mad. Shakespeare uses archetypal characters to compare one who is driven to madness and one who is only pretending.
