A Case Of Walt Disney World Co. V. Aloysia
515 So.2d 198 (1987)

Aloysia Wood filed suit against Disney, and Disney sought contribution from Daniel Wood After

Sys. v. Mineral Explorations, 704 P.2d 1266 (Wyo. 1985). The Illinois Supreme Court in Coney v.
J.L.G. Industries, Inc. gave four reasons justifying the retention of joint and several liability:
(1) The feasibility of apportioning fault on a comparative basis does not render an indivisible
injury divisible for purposes of the joint and several liability rule. A concurrent tortfeasor is liable
for the whole of an indivisible injury when his negligence is a proximate cause of that damage. In
many instances, the negligence of a concurrent tortfeasor may be sufficient by itself to cause the
entire loss. The mere fact that it may be possible to assign some percentage figure to the relative
culpability of one negligent defendant as compared to another does not in any way suggest that
each defendant s negligence is not a proximate cause of the entire indivisible injury.
(2) In those instances where the plaintiff is not guilty of negligence, he would be forced to bear a
portion of the loss should one of the tortfeasors prove financially unable to satisfy his share of the
damages.
(3) Even in cases where a plaintiff is partially at fault, his culpability is not equivalent to that of a
defendant. The plaintiff s negligence relates only to a lack of due care for his own safety while
the defendant s negligence relates to a lack of due care for the safety of others; the latter is tortious,
but the former is not.
(4) Elimination of joint and several

Causes Of Natural Disasters Essay
There has been a large increase in natural disasters in the U.S and in the entire world recently,
these natural disasters include Earthquakes, Floods, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Tsunamis, and
Wildfires 4.4 billion people have been affected by natural disasters, and 1.3 million people have
been killed from them, according to Childfund.org. The countries that have been most affected
by these natural disasters recently have been Zimbabwe, China, Peru, Afghanistan, Democratic
Republic of the Congo, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Columbia, Sierra Leone and South Asia. In just the
past year, floods devastated Thailand and food shortages struck East Africa. The current food
crisis has put about 18 million people in Africa s region at risk of deeper starvation. And extreme
weather will likely increase in the next few years, according to recent reports from the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. A recent drought in East Africa has put their
people at the worst food crisis in 20 years, making 11.5 million people in need of food for
themselves and their families. Severe droughts can be caused after a region has not received
rainfall or snow after a period of time. People can also play a bid role in droughts, if we use too
much water in times of normal rainfall, we might not have enough water when a drought happens.
Another thing the world is affected by is tsunamis, earthquakes under water can cause tsunamis.

Milgram Experiment Unethical
The (Unethical?) Milgram Experiment The Milgram experiment was an experiment that took place
in 1961 at Yale University, created by Stanley Milgram. The experiment was conducted to test the
public s obedience to authority, especially in circumstances in which they are told to participate in
activities that are clearly wrong. In this experiment, subjects were told that they were to be
administering shocks to another subject. This subject happened to be not a subject at all, but an
actor. As the experiment went on, the subjects were told to administer more and more painful
shocks, and the actor expressed how they were in severe physical pain, not to mention at a possible
risk to their health, although not actually being shocked. Those who... Show more content on

ethics during the time, and how the guidelines surrounding them needed to be drastically improved

The Bronx Zoo, And The Botanical Gardens Essay
When one thinks of the Bronx, we think Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, and the Botanical
Gardens. But ultimately, many neglect the Bronx as the poorest county, with the highest dropout
rates, and unemployment rates in the State of New York. I spent the last five years trying to fix
some of these issues, working especially with children from the ages of nine to seventeen with a
nonprofit organization called CBALL. We aim to empower young leaders and prevent children
from falling victim to the criminal culture that plagues the Bronx. A direct correlation exists
between the well being of the residents in the Bronx and the crimerates. For example, seven out of
the twenty New York City neighborhoods with high violent crime rates come from the Bronx.
As a future attorney, I would like to attack this problem legally. For this reason, I actively
swapped my ride along with Ben Cruz to intern with the Bronx Defenders. Do to their stellar
reputation; I was eager to see the Bronx Defenders approach towards helping the borough. Also,
my experience of that day impressed me and inspired me to one day potentially work for the
Bronx Defenders. The Bronx Defenders impressed me with their holistic approach and resembled
the work I do with nonprofits. While at the Bronx Defenders office, I got a firsthand look at their
overarching approach to criminal defense and their tremendous dedication to their clients. I

High Cost Of College Essay
The importance of obtaining a college degree has been heavily stressed in society. For many
students, their high school careers act as the prerequisite for higher education at a university. To
them, college brings about opportunities for better lifestyles and higher roles in society. However,
the high costs of collegetuition keeps some students wondering if it is truly the right path to take.
Although some argue that the relationship between a college educationand success will become
more and more significant in our information driven global economy, (Hansen) many students are
finding that college attendance simply is not worth the remediation, subsequent debt, and
unavailing degrees. Often, students grow up hearing these college for... Show more content on

Many college graduates discover that the so called great career opportunities have been
outsourced or automated, (Photo with caption) leading to them working in jobs that do not even
require a degree. Degrees do not guarantee that someone will be prepared for a certain job. A
blogger named Rob mentioned that many of his acquaintances have graduated from college with
a business or criminal justice degree and absolutely no idea how to get a job with it. Most end up
starting on the bottom rung of some company, about where they would have started without a
degree, (Rob). Required college attendance for all students could possibly deplete the value of a
degree. College does not guarantee intellectual capital for the business market, (Rob) but would be
a waste of resources.
Though it is true that college graduates tend to have higher salaries and better life skills, the
remedial classes, excessive debt, and potentially outdated degrees is not worth the required
attendance of all students. It is possible to be successful without a college degree. Sending every
student to college would not necessarily mean a better life for all who

Gender Roles And Contributions Of Women
Although women are roughly equal to men in number, many different stories across many
different cultures have chosen to focus on the roles and contributions of men. Women are often
included only as a way to further a man s story, rather than as the protagonist in her own journey.
One way in which women can impact the narrative, regardless of whose story is being told, is in
giving birth. The act of creating a new life forces a change in the world around the characters.
However, even this role can be taken from women, and sometimes they must resort to other means
to gain agency in their stories.
As women are the ones who give birth, not men, their role as a creator of life is clear. Simone de
Beauvoir writes that woman is a womb, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women are usually the ones who give life to others, and here he seeks to take that role for
himself. In addition, it is not as though he has switched the roles, and men now do most of the
work with women only helping at the beginning. This could have been one way to minimize
women s contributions. The character has also not gone the route of men doing most of the
work with only initial help from another man, which could have been another way to emphasise
the superiority of men while still keeping a process of creation largely recognisable to humanity.
Instead, he has removed altogether the necessity for two people to be involved in the act of
creation. His act of giving life thus seems more advanced than any at present. It is also notable
that the main character never considers dreaming a woman into being. This could be because he
seeks to create someone of the same gender so that both of them will have something in common.
However, it could also be that he views women as inferior, and so never thinks to create one.
Furthermore, he wants to dream the man in painstaking detail. His dream is not just to create a
man, but one whose appearance he has a great deal of control over. This seems to go even further
than women, as they can create a child, but they cannot influence what the child looks like when it
is born. He not only seeks to supplant women, but also to do their role better than them.

Cornelia De Lange Syndrome
Cornelia de Lange Syndrome typically presents with a constellation of distinctive features affecting
several different parts of the body. There is a wide degree of variation between individuals with the
disorder in the presentation and severity of symptoms; however, the features described below
represent a typical presentation. Slow growth during both fetal and post natal development is a
characteristic feature of the disorder. Approximately 90% or more of patients display delayed
skeletal maturation, and about 50% were noted to have intrauterine growth retardation (2). Because
of this, individuals with Cornelia de Lange syndrome tend to be short in stature, with height and
weight falling below the fifth percentile throughout life (3).... Show more content on

Other limb issues such as small hands (micromelia) and incurved fifth finger (clinodactyly) are
prevalent (3,1). In addition to the above core features, the syndrome tends to have effects on
several major systems of the body. For example, sensorineural hearing loss impacts 80% of
children with CdLS; approximately 40% are severely affected (3). Opthalmological issues, such
as myopia (near sightedness) and nystagmus are also common. Patients may also have
inflammation of the eyelid of droopy eyelids (ptosis) (1). Neurological issues can include sleep
problems and seizures. Approximately 25% of diagnosed individuals experience seizures (3),
which can usually be well controlled with standard medical intervention (4). Neuroimaging has
shown characteristic features such as enlarged ventricles at the basal cisterns, undergrowth of the
brainstem and cerebral vermis, and atrophied white matter especially in the frotal lobes. High pain
tolerance caused by problems with peripheral neuropathy have also been reported (4). Cornelia de
Lange Syndrome can also include cardiovascular concerns. Congenital heart disease occurs in
approximately 25% of individuals with the disorder. The most common

Dangers Of Teenagers In The Malls
Malls are not protected. This is an issue that needs to be resolved in the near future. Though not
very pondered, mall safety is a large concern in this country. Many people are unsuspecting of
the dangers when going to the mall. Teenagers should be watched by an adult until they turn
eighteen. By being accompanied by a guardian or an adult, teenagers are less likely to act out or
cause trouble. A constant eye will discourage any unorderly behavior. If the teenagers in the mall
the day they set off those firecrackers had been watched by an adult, there s a high chance that
never would have happened. Teenagers can be influenced to do the right thing just as much as
as they can be influenced to do bad. It s simply better to have any teen under the age of eighteen
need to be watched. Malls will be much calmer if this simple task is enforced in all malls. The
adult should be responsible for the teenagers and their behavior. This will serve as an incentive
for the adult to keep the teenagers tame. The adult along with the teenagers would receive the
same consequences. Teenagers attending the mall will have little to no outlet to misbehave. This
within itself eradicates some worry mall goers may have concerning their trip to the mall. It s a
fact: teenagers make dumb decisions and do dumb things! It was definitely a dumb choice to set
off fireworks in the mall. Though the teenagers were probably just wanting to fool around, they
caused mass panic and wreaked havoc on that day.

that human beings are naturally equal; that means everybody including the slaves has the human
right, equality, and freedom to everything in the country. Concerning civil power and political

Cause And Effect Of Terrorism
Kabooom! The explosion erupts from a busy and crowded street, the windows are shattered, hot
fiery debris flies, the desperate and pleading cries of children, adults, and elderly are so loud you
could hear them for miles. Many of these unlucky people just became victims of a type of extreme
crime, terrorism. Terrorismis a great extreme that threatens the safety of America and American
citizens everyday. The threat is so serious it has caught the attention of the national and
international governments, impacted the lives of millions of people, and is growing more
dangerous as technology advances.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation,
Terrorism is the calculated use of unlawful force or violence, or the threat of unlawful force or
violence, against person or property for purposes of intimidation, coercion or ransom in the pursuit
of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological . (What is Terrorism?)
Terrorism attacks impact thousands of people every year. These extreme, unnecessary attacks are
responsible for copious amounts of physical and emotional issues.
These traumatizing attackers, or terrorists, create a great sense of fear throughout the entire
population. These extreme criminals use a variety of extreme weapons that can cause great

According to Mark Twain, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, two local teenagers
have been charged with aggravated arson in an ongoing investigation into last week s East
Tennessee wildfires that spread into Gatlinburg, killed 14 people and injured over 150 others.
The fires, which were first recorded in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Nov. 23rd,
spread over 15,000 acres and 2,000 structures, burning down single family homes, Churches and
other edifices in its wake as it strode through Sevier County, destroying two of the country s most

to the drought in the area at the time, exceeded 80 miles per hour. In a statement, Greg Miller,

Symptoms And Prevalence Rate Of Adolescents
Symptoms and prevalence rate
This is a serious mental illness that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. Schizophrenia
means a split mind and this may be the misconception of split personality took root. It is hard for a
person who has this illness to distinguish between real and imagined experiences. Schizophrenics
may hear internal voices that are not heard by others or may see things that are really not there.
Psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions usually emerge in men in their late teens

There is also an increased risk of assaultive and violent behavior. Schizophrenia can run in families.
The risk for inheriting schizophrenia is 10 percent in those who have an immediate family member
with the illness, and 40 percent if the illness affects both parents and an identical twin.
Antipsychotic medication shortens the duration of psychosis in Schizophrenia, and prevents
recurrences (but psychotic relapses can still occur under stress). Usually it takes years before
individuals can accept that they have Schizophrenia and need medication. Life long treatment with
antipsychotic medication is essential for recovery from Schizophrenia. Course and age of onset
Study shows that people with schizophrenia recover fully, and lots of others people improve to the
purpose wherever they ll live severally, usually with the maintenance of treatment therapy.
Fortunately, this accounts for the common cases. However, about 15 percent of individuals with
schizophrenia respond only moderately to medication and need intensive support throughout their
lives. While others 15 percent don t reply to existing treatment. New therapies could supply hope
for the treatment of those most seriously affected suffers.
Differences in age of onset are the most replicated finding in studies into gender differences in
schizophrenia. Men sometimes develop the heath problem at age 18 25, whereas in girls, the mean
age of onset is 25 35. Moreover, the onset distribution curves of

that being said, could compassion have been a key factor in stopping the Holocaustearlier than it

Argumentative Essay On Plastic Surgery
Plastic Surgery
Plastic Surgery has become a worldwide epidemic in today s world. The number of plastic
surgeries continues to increase since 2010. In today s day and age, plastic surgery is one of the
most popular and requested procedures. Females are opting to have plastic surgery because they
dislike their body image. Society has impacted many people by brain washing them to believe that
a person s body has to be perfect. In order for one to be considered beautiful, television and media
influence people s perceptions of beauty.
The definition of plastic surgery can be resumed as the process of rearing parts of the body. This
process is typically recognized by the transfer of tissue, either in the treatment of injury or for
cosmetic reasons. When idealizing plastic surgery, majority of the people think of it only as a
change of personal appearance. For example, breast augmentation or liposuction. Plastic surgery
aides people who have gotten burned, by replacing the burned skin with other tissue from another
part of the body.
Usually, plastic surgery can be associated with individuals that tend to be self conscious or have
low self esteem. Acquiring cosmetic surgeries can significantly boost a person s confidence and
self image. Normally, beautifying procedures are seen to improve psychological damage. Plastic
surgery can be beneficial for mental health. Although this may be true, plastic surgery has become
an addiction. The perception of beauty should not be held at the hands of surgery.
The motives behind surgery can vary; it can go from the removal of birthmarks and unattractive
looking scars, to the riddance of breasts deformities. Recently, a study showed, how Reconstructive
breast augmentation is generally performed to correct asymmetry caused by congenital errors,
trauma or disease, Poland s Syndrome and tuberous breast deformity (Singh, 58). Normally, woman
with breast deformities, such as, large breasts or cysts, deal with many problems like pain in the
back, shoulders, and loin. In this types of situations, breast reduction helps reduce the pain while
helping them fix their posture, and allowing them to live a normal, fulfilling life.
Furthermore, another research shows that one of the of

Analysis of Why are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria by Beverly Daniel Tatum

book of many subjects, theories, ideas, as well as opinions that are discussed, challenged and

These questions I hope to answer for myself and for others.
One of Beverly Tatum s major topics of discussion is racial identity. Racial identity is the meaning
each of us has constructed or is constructing about what it means to be a white person or a person
of color in a race conscious society. (Tatum, pp Xvii) She talks about how many parents... Show

She goes on about Affirmative action in the workplace and the views and opinions of all
different kinds of people. Tatum believes in Affirmative action because of the many encounters
and experiences she had witness and encountered. She goes on to say, Affirmative action is
needed to lessen bias in the paid labor force because affirmative action is the only legal remedy
in the United States for discrimination that does not require the victims (or someone with a
stake in their welfare) to notice their condition and come forward with a grievance on their own
behalf. ; (Tatum pp 123) In my opinion Affirmative action is a touchy subject, just like abortion.
There are places where it should belong and places it shouldn t. I think it should be implemented
in places of business where needed. For example if two candidates for a position are interviewed
for a job and one happens to be white and the other black, and the black candidate is obviously
more qualified for the job but doesn t get the job then that is a place where Affirmative action
needs to b added to the system. It is sad that something like Affirmative action even had to be

Should Welfare Subsidies Be Limited For Only The Social...

Mr. Williams
AP Government and Politics, Period 2
March 28, 2015
Should Welfare Subsidies be limited to only the Social Security System? Social programs for
aiding the needs of the U.S. population are called welfare subsidies. Federal social programs were
first proposed with Theodore Roosevelt s New Nationalism, and expanded during the Wilson,
Roosevelt, and Johnson Administrations. There are eighty three overlapping federal programs
which vary in eligibility requirements. They help provide food, shelter, healthcare, education and
money to American citizens. These services are provided through primary and secondary education,
subsidies of college education, pensions for eligible persons, subsidies for eligible low wage
workers, subsidies for housing, unemployment disability insurance, Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program benefits, subsidies for housing, and health insurance programs that cover
public employees. The largest and most prominent welfare subsidy is the Social Security Program
and the second largest is Medicare. Aside from Medicare and Social Security, Congress allocated
$717 billion to welfare subsidies in 2010. That same year, states allocated $210 billion. The total
allocations for Social Security and Medicare were $1.3 trillion in 2013, which was 37% of the
total Federal expenditure budget of $3.684 trillion. Aside from government welfare programs,

respiration also decreased from 106 to 44 breaths per minutes. The null hypothesis, that the change
in temperature has no effect on the respiration per minute of a goldfish. The null hypothesis can be
rejected because of the temperature of the water as a direct effect on the respirations of a goldfish.
The results give support for an alternative hypothesis. A goldfish is an ectotherm which means the
fish s body temperature depends mainly on the environmental temperature (White and Campo
2013). However, there were many outside factors which made the experiment

Healthy Fast Food
It is nearly impossible to turn on the television or radio and not be hit with advertisements
introducing the latest fast food trend В– fresh and healthy food options. More often, the media
bombards us with slogans such as Subway s common pitch to eat fresh or McDonald s million
dollar advertisement campaign to try the new fruit and walnut salad. Attention has made an abrupt
turn from the greasy, deep fried originals at the fast foodchains to more health conscious food
choices. Even a documentary of a man named Morgan Spurlock made headlines and won awards
when he ate McDonald s three times a day for a month and publicized the effects through a movie
called Super Size Me. Shortly after Super Size Me caught high publicity... Show more content on

Obesity and the desire for freshness are the two focal reasons fast food chains have gone healthy.
A high percentage of Americans are over weight, and those same individuals supply the profit for
the fast food industry. Close to one hundred percent of the items on a fast food menu contain excess
amounts of fats, sugars, and carbohydrates В– leaving people full with empty calories. Many
individuals today, however, are recognizing the side effects fast food has on their lifestyle. The
demand for fresh products that meet dietary food guidelines is forcing the fast food industry to
create salads, fruits, yogurts, and grilled entrees. Arguing that the new healthy food choices are due
to a desire to expand the market has its valid points, however, are not the causes for the change В–
it just happens to fit in perfectly with the scenario. Obesity and freshness have provoked a new
health trend in fast food, and it is no secret with all the advertisements. So dare to super size an
order of healthy fast food В– a once considered oxymoron now becoming more of a reality.

The War in Iraq Essay
In April of 1920, Allied Nations coming out of World War I met at the San Remo Peace
Conference. It was here that a mandate involving France s desire to hold Syria and Lebanon and
Great Britain s desire to hold the lands of Palestine, Transjordan, and Mesopotamia was born.
Britain s holdings were renamed Iraq, which was created out of the Ottoman provinces of
Baghdad, Mosul, and Basra. In October of 1932, Iraq gained formal independence under Faysal I
and through the League of Nations becoming its own separate country. In the years to follow, the
Iraqi Oil industry flourished providing the country with its main source of income and making the
Middle East as a whole the richest source of petroleum on earth. Iraq would continue with its...

During this period of pressuring, UN inspections revealed holes that had been cut through the Iraqi

was largely believed this was executed by US Special Forces. Amidst pressuring from all sides,
even from the Turkish and Kurd forces who sought an opportunity to fight amongst themselves, Iraq

Have you ever read of the book Bud, not Buddy ? Well, if you haven t here is a summary of the
book. First off, the books began with the main character, Bud in an orphanage, he gets adopted
by a family of three a mother, a father, and a son named Todd, but when it comes to lying they
believe their son, and only their son. Now, that combo isn t exactly ideal, long story short Bud
gets locked in a shed, he escapes, and then after getting revenge on the Amoses Bud runs away.
Then he finds his friend, Bugs from the orphanage, then they leave to go find a town named
Hooverville, later to discover that Hooverville is a town made of cardboard that homeless

Essay on Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis
In the United States, an estimated 2.3 million couples are considered infertile [Wekesser, 1996].
This creates a large need for infertility specialists and clinics specializing in fertility treatments.
With the quickly advancing field of rep roductive services and the quest for creating better, healthier
babies, a new service called Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is being offered in
conjunction with In vitro fertilization.
PGD is a procedure that combines In vitro fertilization and genetic screening. In vitro fertilization
is a procedure that requires a large time commitment; the entire procedure lasts about four weeks.

It can also be used to test for Tay Sachs Disease, Fragile X Mental Retardation, Cystic Fibrosis,
Down Syndrome and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. In the past couples who wanted to have childr
en, and were carriers of inherited diseases, worried about the possibility of their children
inheriting the disease. Parents will no longer have this worry. In 1989, an English couple became
the first to use PGD [Grady,1995]. It was used because they were at risk of passing along a form
of severe mental retardation. Because it only affected sons, PGD was used to ensure that the couple
had a daughter.
Public Policy Debates
Although PGD is a relatively new procedure, there are several ethical questions surrounding its
use. One question is, Should parents be allowed to choose characteristics for their children that
are not related to disorders such as their baby s eye color, personality, or even the sex of their
baby? [Wekesser,1996]. Until the genes responsible for inherited traits such as the previously
mentioned are mapped, this is not an issue. If scientists do not know where the gene is located,
they are unable to create a test determining the presence of the gene. However, because we do
know how the sex of a child is determined, a specific gender can be screened for. Many believe that
this should

A1. Budgetary Items Of Concern Within the budget for Competition Bikes, Inc., there are a few
different items of concern. Some items that raise a concern within the budget are the projected
number of unit sales and the amounts budgeted for advertising and research and development. I
think it is obvious in the previous years that the amount the company spends on advertising has a
direct effect on the number of sales. According to the projected number of units that are expected
to be sold, the company is expecting an increase from 3,400 in year 8 to 3510 in year 9. This is a
considerable increase because of the fact that in year 7, there were 4,000 units sold, and in year 8

were only 3423. While this is an unfavorable variance within the flexible budget, in reality, it is a
positive thing because there was an improvement in sales from the prior year. The next four
variances were favorable ones for the company. Direct materials, direct labor, manufacturing
overhead, and variable selling expenses all had favorable variances. This is to be expected as
the company sold fewer units than they had projected for. Competition should be spending less
on variable expenses when they are producing less than expected. Overall, variable expenses as a

that the variances within the advertising and transportation out categories were unfavorable. All of
these variables accounted for show an unfavorable contribution margin variance of$ 41,076. This is
due to the money lost in the unit sales and the few unfavorable variances. Overall, fixed general

Magnetic Organizer Essay
Name:David Toledo Room: 401 Review of Literature Target Audience The Magnetic Organizer
will appeal to a young older audience. Both boys and girls can be unorganized, and therefore the
Magnetic Organizer is for both genders. The Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students
who have trouble being organized in school. Leaving folders, papers, or homework somewhere
are constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can be used by both amateurs and
professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a professional, or stay one.
The disabled could probably not use this design, as the main function needed to operate my
design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic lock, and be able to grab whatever is placed inside
of the magnetic binder. This is not a very complex design, so it can be used without much

Ethics And The Real Estate Field
Ethics is an ongoing issue when any sales position is in question. When people think of sales
people, the first thing that comes to their minds is liar, thief and someone who is trying persuade
you do something for more of their benefit than yours. Ethics is an issue that will never go away,
until we find a solution that will divert this behavior. Majority of salespeople especially in the real
estate field are commission only, so its feast or famine. It would be fitting if all sales people
were made to take a budgeting course, before they could apply for their license or make it a
requirement within the licensing. This will help those people realize that the 1099 money they
make is not all theirs, that they need to learn to budget for taxes, office and licensing expenses.
Majority of fraud and ethical issues in the business derives from those who don t know how to
budget and need to get paid immediately. Being a real estate you have duties you have to fulfill
not only to yourself, your company but most importantly to the customers. Being a real estate
does mean you automatically make a ton of money, this is a total misconception of people. Yes,
you can make a lot of money, but it takes time and you have to build your business. What does
this have to do with duties to yourself? It means you can t go in thinking you re going to make all
this money and start living beyond your means, in turn this can cause a person to make something
happen or push someone in a way you know

During the early 20th century, the expansion of the immigrant population and wealthy class
represented the changes occurring in America. Through Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis and Hester
Street, directed by Joan Micklin Silver, we absorb personal stories of both sides. Babbitt epitomizes
the lifestyle of the wealthy through his desire for material things and his discontent with his life.
Jake represents the immigrant population, caring more about finding his identity as an American

In Hester Street, Jake heavily depended on Mamie economically to get by. Before his wife and
son moved to America, he lived with Mamie in order to save money. However, when he learns of
their plans to immigrate, he realizes that not only will he need to end his affair, but he will also
need to rent his own apartment and pay for the associated costs himself. Unfortunately, he doesn
t have enough money to afford this, so he needs to borrow $25 from Mamie. During this time
period, the man was usually the only one in the family who worked and was supposed to treat
and pay for the women. Therefore, it is almost shameful that Jake has to rely on Mamie for
money, essentially demonstrating that he has failed as a man to provide a decent living for
himself and those he cares about. Similarly, Babbitt s affair results from his failure, but in his
case, it s his failure to find happiness in his life. While Babbitt had faced turmoil for quite some
time, once Paul gets thrown in jail, he begins flirting with younger women and has an affair. He
felt sick and tired of his wife and thought that mixing things up might bring him more pleasure.
However, when he notices the pain he s brought upon his wife and learns that she falls ill with
appendicitis, he regrets his decisions and wants to care for her again. Unlike Jake, who continues
to mistreat his wife and eventually divorces her, Babbitt recognizes his mistakes and takes action
to repair the damage. The failures of Jake and Babbitt to be proper men led them to breaking their
loyalty to their wives, but differing end results, particularly Babbitt s ability to save his marriage,

Analysis Of Barbie Doll
Vying for Perfection (1a) The poem Barbie Doll written by Marge Piercy contains several
denotations and connotations throughout the work. Denotation, signifying the literal meaning or
dictionary definition, whereas connotation signifies the various meanings related to the word. In the
poem, the words cosmetics (20) and happy ending (25) stood out. The poet writes, In the casket
displayed on satin she lay / with the undertakers cosmetics painted on, / a turned up putty nose, /.
(lines 19 21) Cosmetics as presented in Webster s Dictionary is relating to or making for beauty
especially of the complexion. The reader could also interpret that word as maybe not just to
look better but to also mask the internal struggle that the individual is dealing with. Using make
up, women more so like to paint a facade to feel and look a certain way to attract others, as the
woman in the poem does. Going to the next phrase, happy ending , denotes that it will end on a
good note for the protagonist. To every woman a happy ending. (line 25) Happy ending could
also be characterized, especially in this poem as the opposite. The woman throughout the poem
is struggling to appeal like a Barbie Doll on the exterior and wants to fulfill society s own
preference for beautiful causing the female to resort to physical harm. She was advised to pay
coy, / exhorted to come on hearty, / exercise, diet, smile, and wheedle. (lines 12 14) As emphasized

Photography Is A Moment, An Instant
Photography is like a moment, an instant. You need a half second to get the photo. So it s good to
capture people when they are themselves. This is a quote from Patrick Demarchelier, who is a
french fashion photographer. Photography captures a moment that won t happen again, so you
have to make sure you re prepared. There s a lot of aspects that come in when capturing a
photograph, the most important being aperturesize, shutter speed, and the ISO.
One of the most important aspects of taking a good photo is aperture. Aperture is the hole that
light travels through in the camera. An easy way to understand aperture is to compare the parts
of a camera to the human eye. The aperture is like the pupil; how much light that enters the retina
(camera sensor) depends on the size of the pupil. Typically, larger aperture size equals more light,
just like a larger pupil means there s more light. So, the easiest way to remember aperture, is by
associating it with your pupil. Large pupil size equals large aperture, while small pupil size equals
small aperture .
Our cornea is like the front element in lens; it gathers all the external light, then bends it and
passes it to the iris. Another important part of the camera that affects the aperture is the
diaphragm. The diaphragm is the iris of the lens that is in control of the aperture size. The
diaphragm s purpose is to block out all light that doesn t go to the top.
Aperture are expressed in f numbers, or f stops. They are a way

Distinctive Features of Near Death Experiences
It is estimated that only 5% of the population will have a NDE, this being a time when an

NDE are the link between whether there actually exist a separation between the physical body

The feelings that people experience while near death have had similarities, they are described as

At the point of injury there was a momentary flash of pain, but all the pain vanished... the day was
bitterly cold, yet while I was in blackness all I felt was warmth and the most extreme comfort I

The darkness that was mentioned in that mans experience is part of another feature that of the Dark

Reformation in the Church 2002
My Reformation for the Church in 2002
By Sally Smith
There are several problems in the church that I can see right now. The biggest problem I see is
that most Christians have made being a Christian a religious act. You have to do this and you can t
do that and if you don t you will go to hell. We have made being a Christian long and labor some.
Few church members understand the concept of grace. They have forgotten that Jesus just wants be
our friend. That being a Christian is not following a bunch of rules but having a relationship with
Jesus. The second problem I see is that most seminaries don t and refuse to ordain women and very
few churches have ordained women elders and deacons. Most churches have started doing ... Show

Whoever serves should do it with the strength that God has given him, so that God will be
praised through Jesus Christ. All glory and power and dominion belong to God both now and
forever. Amen. Another problem I see is music. Throughout history, every time there was an
outbreak of new music an instrument was banded. Right now, most churches have banded guitars
and drums. Most churches also still sing long winded and mournful songs. Churches should sing
new songs that are happy and joyful. They should have well behaved drummer and guitar player.
The fourth problem is in the worship service. Most church services are predictable, long and
boring with no variety. The worship service should be thoughtful, yes even exciting and full of
variety. A problem related to the one above is communion. It has become boring, long, predicable
and not meaningful. Most people have no clue what the symbolism of communion is. Every
communion should be different and meaningful. The next problem I see is the Sabbath. My
church follows the letter of the law on this subject but most chuches don t even do that. The
Sabbath should be a day that you look foreward to in spending time with God. We seem to do
whatever we want on the Sabbath. Or we make mindless rules like the pharisees did; don t do this,
do that. We have forgotton the true meaning of the Sabbath. The last problem is that the church

Economic feasibility and Market
With the aforementioned nearly 40 million tourists last year bringing with them their 9.5 Billion in

George S. Patton Rhetorical Analysis
General George S Patton, also known as Old Blood and Guts, was by far one of the greatest and
most controversial generals within the U.S army during World War 2. Renowned for his
leadership of the Third Army, he was the center of controversy, such as the time when he called for
war against the Soviets (Wilcox, 2010, p. 112). In doing this, General George S. Pattonpainted
himself as an agitator, which is an individual who speaks of the violation or misappropriation of
the present form of society, but he does not hold it ultimately responsible for social ills (Lowenthal,
1948). According to the Portrait of the American Agitator, the average agitator George S. Patton fits
this description quite well, in the sense that he refused to capitulate to what could be deemed in
today s terms as political correctness. Unfortunately, as history has demonstrated, those who speak
out against public opinion are often scorned, ostracized and even subject to violence. Within
Blumenson s book, The Patton Papers, George S. Patton shares his unpopular opinion of the
Germans in a letter to his wife Beatrice:
The stuff in the papers about fraternization is all wet... All that sort of writing is done by Jews to
get revenge. Actually the Germans are the only decent people left in Europe. It s a choice between
them and the Russians. I prefer the Germans. So do our cousins... (p. 744).
Inarguably, these words written by Patton were possibly some of the most dangerous statements he
could

Personal Narrative-Heated Tie
An imagery of a heated duel is neatly embroidered upon the back of this armchair. Two
opponents stand a short distance apart from each other in a wide, sandy arena. The entire arena
is empty save for the two wolves sizing each other up. The wolf on the left is female; she stands
about five feet, but grips her longsword with both of her delicate paws like a professional. The
handle of her sword is bound with black leather, the hilt decorated yet understated, with a long,
polished steel blade. She is covered head to toe in shiny snow white fur which has been neatly
trimmed over her muscles and curvy frame. Her silky jet black hair is pulled back into a high
ponytail that neatly drapes behind her back. She is clad in loose black pants that fit her waist
with a tie belt and a white button down blouse. Black leather boots complete her simplistic martial
look. Her narrow, deep green eyes are mostly green slits as she eyeballs the male before her.... Show

Gray swordsman pants are all he wears save his black leather boots and a matching belt. His
spiky, nut brown hair is wildly tousled as if his hand has gone through it numerous times. All six
feet of him looms over the woman as a small, but a visible smirk of confidence plays on his thick
lips and his storm gray eyes twinkle with amusement. He carries a steel edged cutlass, perfectly
holding it at an undaunted horizon, leveled at his nose. He is prepared for any attack as he clearly

The Swimming Pool Reconstruction At Naperville North
The swimming pool reconstruction at Naperville North was part of a two part renovation
project, including the parking lot where the students park their cars. This two part project ended
up costing the school $4,353,142.00, according to Lamp Incorporated Construction. Obviously,
the parking lot renovations were completed for the beginning of the school year in August,
because if they were not there would be no space for students to park and many people would be
upset. There were fewer people to complain about the swimming pool not being completed for the
start of the girls swim team season, so, logically, the parking lot was the more prominent focus of
the construction workers to finish for the start of the school year.Needless to say the start of my
high school swimming career did not go as I had imagined it, and the genderinequality became more
and more evident as I continued in the NapervilleNorth swim team program. We had early
morning practice at Naperville Central, meaning we practiced earlier than a normal morning
practice so we would have time to travel back to Naperville North. Sometimes the bus that would
take us from Naperville Central in the morning to Naperville North was late and the swim team
was late to class, which was frightening as a freshman. Then after school instead of going
straight to practice we would go home, for what seemed like no time at all, and then we would
have to change and get the carpool going so we could all get to Naperville Central to

Nitric Oxide On Oxygen Levels
Nitric Oxide on Hypoxia Levels in Metabolism and Vasoactivity Regulation This review paper is
based on research and learned techniques through this semester (Fall 2015), conducted under Dr.
Kenneth Kambis in the Adair Hall Facility. Although final approval was authorized in December,
there were previous volunteers that were informed under another approval given. In the research
project titled: Individual Variability Upon Acute Exposure to a Normobaric Hypoxic Environment
Simulating a Physiologic Altitude Equivalent to 3,500 Meters it covered and explores hypoxia
levels in various ethnic backgrounds at rigorous activity. The concept of metabolism and
vasoactivity in certain species systems is highly regulated under laboratory conditions with proper
materials, methods, and equipment. Measuring ranging levels of oxygenwhether in humans, sheep,
rats or mice is essential to understand chemical regulation in the organism s system. This may be
done in vivo or in vitro. In the laboratory, a normobaric hypoxia chamber is utilized to decrease the
oxygen content of the chamber atmosphere to a percentage that closely reflects the partial pressure
of oxygen in a given hypobaric environment without reducing the atmospheric pressure (Kambis,
2015). Thus the regulation of oxygen in partial pressures is similar to those found in hypobaric
atmospheres of up to extreme altitude. Innovation In human research the demographics to consider
in a study are age, gender, height, weight, and

The Characteristics Of Scopophilia Freud s Analysis Of...
Human beings have an innate desire to look, to stare. As humans we are curious and always
want to know more than we already know. Things that seem mysterious entice us, making us
more inquisitive. It starts from an early age. In his analysis of scopophilia Freud uses the
voyeuristic activities of children, because children are more curious and always want to see
what is considered private (Mulvey, L. 2003: 59). The cinema industry has made it easier and
appropriate for us to satisfy our curiosity as spectators. This is conventionally done by producing
stories, using spaces and people that inhabit the real world, which we can easily recognize and
identify with. The cinema industry has also been providing a space that allows the spectator to sit
in the dark and be active observers of the people on screen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There is an act of voyeurism as the spectators look through the screen. (Mulvey, L. 2003:60). The
spectators have an understanding that it is a flat screen, that there is no depth but there is an
illusion produced and they are looking through somewhat a mirror. This allows the spectators to see
with pleasure but most importantly the spectators are in the dark and the objects of the gaze created
for the sexual gratification of the spectators are in the light. So the spectators are able to observe
them unobserved. We are safe in our scopophilic viewing, the pleasure is almost sexual
gratification (Mulvey, L. 2003: 60). For the purpose of this essay, I will thoroughly explain and
elaborate on Freud s terms as I analyse a sequence from the point where Ellie arrives at Oscar s
house to the moment Oscar sees Ellie s castrated genitals, through the act of peeping . Taken from
the film Let the Right One in by Tomas Alfredon (Alfredon, T. 2008). My analysis of the sequence
will be centred on the ideas of voyeurism and fetishism as set out by Laura

(with professor edits) Aloysia Wood was injured in November 1971 at the grand prix attraction at Walt Disney World (Disney), when her fiance, Daniel Wood, rammed from the rear the vehicle which she was driving. Aloysia Wood filed suit against Disney, and Disney sought contribution from Daniel Wood After trial, the jury returned a verdict finding Aloysia Wood 14% at fault, Daniel Wood 85% at fault, and Disney 1% at fault. The jury assessed Wood s damages at $75,000. The court entered judgment against Disney for 86% of the damages. Disney subsequently moved to alter the judgment to reflect the jury s ... Industries, Inc. gave four reasons justifying the retention of joint and several liability: (1) The feasibility of apportioning fault on a comparative basis does not render an indivisible injury divisible for purposes of the joint and several liability rule. A concurrent tortfeasor is liable for the whole of an indivisible injury when his negligence is a proximate cause of that damage. In many instances, the negligence of a concurrent tortfeasor may be sufficient by itself to cause the entire loss. The mere fact that it may be possible to assign some percentage figure to the relative culpability of one negligent defendant as compared to another does not in any way suggest that each defendant s negligence is not a proximate cause of the entire indivisible injury. (2) In those instances where the plaintiff is not guilty of negligence, he would be forced to bear a portion of the loss should one of the tortfeasors prove financially unable to satisfy his share of the damages. (3) Even in cases where a plaintiff is partially at fault, his culpability is not equivalent to that of a defendant. The plaintiff s negligence relates only to a lack of due care for his own safety while the defendant s negligence relates to a lack of due care for the safety of others; the latter is tortious, but the former is not. A recent drought in East Africa has put their people at the worst food crisis in 20 years, making 11.5 million people in need of food for themselves and their families. Severe droughts can be caused after a region has not received rainfall or snow after a period of time. People can also play a bid role in droughts, if we use too much water in times of normal rainfall, we might not have enough water when a drought happens. • 5. Milgram Experiment Unethical The (Unethical?) Milgram Experiment The Milgram experiment was an experiment that took place in 1961 at Yale University, created by Stanley Milgram. The experiment was conducted to test the public s obedience to authority, especially in circumstances in which they are told to participate in activities that are clearly wrong. In this experiment, subjects were told that they were to be administering shocks to another subject. This subject happened to be not a subject at all, but an actor. As the experiment went on, the subjects were told to administer more and more painful shocks, and the actor expressed how they were in severe physical pain, not to mention at a possible risk to their health, although not actually being shocked. • 6. The Bronx Zoo, And The Botanical Gardens Essay When one thinks of the Bronx, we think Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, and the Botanical Gardens. But ultimately, many neglect the Bronx as the poorest county, with the highest dropout rates, and unemployment rates in the State of New York. I spent the last five years trying to fix some of these issues, working especially with children from the ages of nine to seventeen with a nonprofit organization called CBALL. We aim to empower young leaders and prevent children from falling victim to the criminal culture that plagues the Bronx. A direct correlation exists between the well being of the residents in the Bronx and the crimerates. For example, seven out of the twenty New York City neighborhoods with high violent crime rates come from the Bronx. As a future attorney, I would like to attack this problem legally. For this reason, I actively swapped my ride along with Ben Cruz to intern with the Bronx Defenders. Do to their stellar reputation; I was eager to see the Bronx Defenders approach towards helping the borough. Also, my experience of that day impressed me and inspired me to one day potentially work for the Bronx Defenders. For many students, their high school careers act as the prerequisite for higher education at a university. To them, college brings about opportunities for better lifestyles and higher roles in society. However, the high costs of collegetuition keeps some students wondering if it is truly the right path to take. Many college graduates discover that the so called great career opportunities have been outsourced or automated, (Photo with caption) leading to them working in jobs that do not even require a degree. Most end up starting on the bottom rung of some company, about where they would have started without a degree, (Rob). Required college attendance for all students could possibly deplete the value of a degree. College does not guarantee intellectual capital for the business market, (Rob) but would be a waste of resources. Though it is true that college graduates tend to have higher salaries and better life skills, the remedial classes, excessive debt, and potentially outdated degrees is not worth the required attendance of all students. • 10. Gender Roles And Contributions Of Women Although women are roughly equal to men in number, many different stories across many different cultures have chosen to focus on the roles and contributions of men. Women are often included only as a way to further a man s story, rather than as the protagonist in her own journey. One way in which women can impact the narrative, regardless of whose story is being told, is in giving birth. The act of creating a new life forces a change in the world around the characters. However, even this role can be taken from women, and sometimes they must resort to other means to gain agency in their stories. As women are the ones who give birth, not men, their role as a creator of life is clear. Simone de Beauvoir writes that woman is a womb, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Women are usually the ones who give life to others, and here he seeks to take that role for himself. In addition, it is not as though he has switched the roles, and men now do most of the work with women only helping at the beginning. This could have been one way to minimize women s contributions. The character has also not gone the route of men doing most of the work with only initial help from another man, which could have been another way to emphasise the superiority of men while still keeping a process of creation largely recognisable to humanity. Instead, he has removed altogether the necessity for two people to be involved in the act of creation. His act of giving life thus seems more advanced than any at present. It is also notable that the main character never considers dreaming a woman into being. This could be because he seeks to create someone of the same gender so that both of them will have something in common. However, it could also be that he views women as inferior, and so never thinks to create one. Furthermore, he wants to dream the man in painstaking detail. His dream is not just to create a man, but one whose appearance he has a great deal of control over. This seems to go even further than women, as they can create a child, but they cannot influence what the child looks like when it is born. • 12. Dangers Of Teenagers In The Malls Malls are not protected. This is an issue that needs to be resolved in the near future. Though not very pondered, mall safety is a large concern in this country. Many people are unsuspecting of the dangers when going to the mall. Teenagers should be watched by an adult until they turn eighteen. By being accompanied by a guardian or an adult, teenagers are less likely to act out or cause trouble. A constant eye will discourage any unorderly behavior. If the teenagers in the mall the day they set off those firecrackers had been watched by an adult, there s a high chance that never would have happened. Teenagers can be influenced to do the right thing just as much as as they can be influenced to do bad. It s simply better to have any teen under the age of eighteen need to be watched. Malls will be much calmer if this simple task is enforced in all malls. The adult should be responsible for the teenagers and their behavior. This will serve as an incentive for the adult to keep the teenagers tame. The adult along with the teenagers would receive the same consequences. Teenagers attending the mall will have little to no outlet to misbehave. This within itself eradicates some worry mall goers may have concerning their trip to the mall. It s a fact: teenagers make dumb decisions and do dumb things! It was definitely a dumb choice to set off fireworks in the mall. Though the teenagers were probably just wanting to fool around, they caused mass panic and wreaked havoc on that day. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tennessee Wildfires According to Mark Twain, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, two local teenagers have been charged with aggravated arson in an ongoing investigation into last week s East Tennessee wildfires that spread into Gatlinburg, killed 14 people and injured over 150 others. The fires, which were first recorded in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Nov. 23rd, spread over 15,000 acres and 2,000 structures, burning down single family homes, Churches and other edifices in its wake as it strode through Sevier County, destroying two of the country s most tourist heavy towns and an amusement park. • 18. Argumentative Essay On Plastic Surgery Plastic Surgery Plastic Surgery has become a worldwide epidemic in today s world. The number of plastic surgeries continues to increase since 2010. In today s day and age, plastic surgery is one of the most popular and requested procedures. Females are opting to have plastic surgery because they dislike their body image. Society has impacted many people by brain washing them to believe that a person s body has to be perfect. In order for one to be considered beautiful, television and media influence people s perceptions of beauty. The definition of plastic surgery can be resumed as the process of rearing parts of the body. This process is typically recognized by the transfer of tissue, either in the treatment of injury or for cosmetic reasons. When idealizing plastic surgery, majority of the people think of it only as a change of personal appearance. For example, breast augmentation or liposuction. Plastic surgery aides people who have gotten burned, by replacing the burned skin with other tissue from another part of the body. Usually, plastic surgery can be associated with individuals that tend to be self conscious or have low self esteem. Acquiring cosmetic surgeries can significantly boost a person s confidence and self image. Normally, beautifying procedures are seen to improve psychological damage. Plastic surgery can be beneficial for mental health. Although this may be true, plastic surgery has become an addiction. The perception of beauty should not be held at the hands of surgery. The motives behind surgery can vary; it can go from the removal of birthmarks and unattractive looking scars, to the riddance of breasts deformities. Recently, a study showed, how Reconstructive breast augmentation is generally performed to correct asymmetry caused by congenital errors, trauma or disease, Poland s Syndrome and tuberous breast deformity (Singh, 58). Normally, woman with breast deformities, such as, large breasts or cysts, deal with many problems like pain in the back, shoulders, and loin. Tatum believes in Affirmative action because of the many encounters and experiences she had witness and encountered. She goes on to say, Affirmative action is needed to lessen bias in the paid labor force because affirmative action is the only legal remedy in the United States for discrimination that does not require the victims (or someone with a stake in their welfare) to notice their condition and come forward with a grievance on their own behalf. ; (Tatum pp 123) In my opinion Affirmative action is a touchy subject, just like abortion. There are places where it should belong and places it shouldn t. I think it should be implemented in places of business where needed. For example if two candidates for a position are interviewed for a job and one happens to be white and the other black, and the black candidate is obviously more qualified for the job but doesn t get the job then that is a place where Affirmative action needs to b added to the system. Safwan Siddiqi Mr. Williams AP Government and Politics, Period 2 March 28, 2015 Should Welfare Subsidies be limited to only the Social Security System? Social programs for aiding the needs of the U.S. population are called welfare subsidies. Federal social programs were first proposed with Theodore Roosevelt s New Nationalism, and expanded during the Wilson, Roosevelt, and Johnson Administrations. There are eighty three overlapping federal programs which vary in eligibility requirements. They help provide food, shelter, healthcare, education and money to American citizens. These services are provided through primary and secondary education, subsidies of college education, pensions for eligible persons, subsidies for eligible low wage workers, subsidies for housing, unemployment disability insurance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, subsidies for housing, and health insurance programs that cover public employees. The largest and most prominent welfare subsidy is the Social Security Program and the second largest is Medicare. Aside from Medicare and Social Security, Congress allocated $717 billion to welfare subsidies in 2010. That same year, states allocated $210 billion. The total allocations for Social Security and Medicare were $1.3 trillion in 2013, which was 37% of the total Federal expenditure budget of $3.684 trillion. This is a quote from Patrick Demarchelier, who is a french fashion photographer. Photography captures a moment that won t happen again, so you have to make sure you re prepared. There s a lot of aspects that come in when capturing a photograph, the most important being aperturesize, shutter speed, and the ISO. One of the most important aspects of taking a good photo is aperture. Aperture is the hole that light travels through in the camera. An easy way to understand aperture is to compare the parts of a camera to the human eye. The aperture is like the pupil; how much light that enters the retina (camera sensor) depends on the size of the pupil. Typically, larger aperture size equals more light, just like a larger pupil means there s more light. So, the easiest way to remember aperture, is by associating it with your pupil. Large pupil size equals large aperture, while small pupil size equals small aperture . Our cornea is like the front element in lens; it gathers all the external light, then bends it and passes it to the iris. Another important part of the camera that affects the aperture is the diaphragm. The diaphragm is the iris of the lens that is in control of the aperture size. The diaphragm s purpose is to block out all light that doesn t go to the top. Aperture are expressed in f numbers, or f stops. They are a way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That is one minute to tell where the Vietcong are or his father gets shot. The boy does not say a word by the time that was requested by green beret so he ordered the boy s father to get shot. As the gun shot shatters through the forest the boy crouches down and starts to cry. One mercenary then goes over to Green Beret and says to him he didn t know a damn thing we killed the old guy for nothing At that time the mercenary didn t know how wrong he was because the boy knew all there was to know about the Vietcong. The caves, the trails, the hidden places and all the names. Green Berets use of direct speech and its narrative structure produce a very focused poem. It is direct and hard hitting, unlike Tennyson s, which is more romantic, honourable view of war. The vital signs were temperature 36.5 degrees, 80 beats per minute, 20 respiratory rates, blood pressure was 140/70 and oxygen saturation was 99%. This objective data is all within normal range (Bellchambers 2015, p. 588). It is important to monitor the patients blood pressure as he has hypertension. This gives the healthcare professionals a baseline of his blood pressure so they can determine a difference in the patient s health. A capillary blood sample is used to test the blood glucose level (Kucia 2015, p. 875). The normal level is 3.9 6.1mmol/L (Sanchez 2014, p. 582). This is measuring the glucose levels in millimoles per litre of blood (Sanchez 2014, p. 582). Essay on Distinctive Features of Near Death Experiences Distinctive Features of Near Death Experiences It is estimated that only 5% of the population will have a NDE, this being a time when an individual is pronounced clinically dead but for some reason survives death and lives to try explain why and how they had this experience. Experiences like this are usually life changing. NDE are the link between whether there actually exist a separation between the physical body and the soul this is because the features of NDE s are purely personal and take place in an individuals mind; there are no signs from the physical body that this experience has ever taken place. The feelings that people experience while near death have had similarities, they are described as extremely pleasant sensations during the earlier stages in the experience these include feelings of peace and quiet, warmth, comfort and solitude. All feelings you would not associate with a near death experience. One example is from a man who after a severe head injury lost all signs of life: At the point of injury there was a momentary flash of pain, but all the pain vanished... the day was bitterly cold, yet while I was in blackness all I felt was warmth and the most extreme comfort I have ever experienced. The darkness that was mentioned in that mans experience is part of another feature that of the Dark tunnel which is also often concurrent with the noise It is basically a sensation of being pulled at a ... • 39. Reformation in the Church 2002 My Reformation for the Church in 2002 By Sally Smith There are several problems in the church that I can see right now. The biggest problem I see is that most Christians have made being a Christian a religious act. You have to do this and you can t do that and if you don t you will go to hell. We have made being a Christian long and labor some. Few church members understand the concept of grace. They have forgotten that Jesus just wants be our friend. That being a Christian is not following a bunch of rules but having a relationship with Jesus. The second problem I see is that most seminaries don t and refuse to ordain women and very few churches have ordained women elders and deacons. Most churches have started doing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whoever serves should do it with the strength that God has given him, so that God will be praised through Jesus Christ. All glory and power and dominion belong to God both now and forever. Amen. Another problem I see is music. Throughout history, every time there was an outbreak of new music an instrument was banded. Right now, most churches have banded guitars and drums. Most churches also still sing long winded and mournful songs. Churches should sing new songs that are happy and joyful. They should have well behaved drummer and guitar player. The fourth problem is in the worship service. Most church services are predictable, long and boring with no variety. The worship service should be thoughtful, yes even exciting and full of variety. A problem related to the one above is communion. It has become boring, long, predicable and not meaningful. Most people have no clue what the symbolism of communion is. Every communion should be different and meaningful. The next problem I see is the Sabbath. My church follows the letter of the law on this subject but most chuches don t even do that. The Sabbath should be a day that you look foreward to in spending time with God. We seem to do whatever we want on the Sabbath. Or we make mindless rules like the pharisees did; don t do this, do that. We have forgotton the true meaning of the Sabbath. The last problem is that the church members rarely fellowship together anymore. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. George S. Patton Rhetorical Analysis General George S Patton, also known as Old Blood and Guts, was by far one of the greatest and most controversial generals within the U.S army during World War 2. Renowned for his leadership of the Third Army, he was the center of controversy, such as the time when he called for war against the Soviets (Wilcox, 2010, p. 112). In doing this, General George S. Pattonpainted himself as an agitator, which is an individual who speaks of the violation or misappropriation of the present form of society, but he does not hold it ultimately responsible for social ills (Lowenthal, 1948). According to the Portrait of the American Agitator, the average agitator George S. Patton fits this description quite well, in the sense that he refused to capitulate to what could be deemed in today s terms as political correctness. Unfortunately, as history has demonstrated, those who speak out against public opinion are often scorned, ostracized and even subject to violence. Within Blumenson s book, The Patton Papers, George S. Patton shares his unpopular opinion of the Germans in a letter to his wife Beatrice: The stuff in the papers about fraternization is all wet... All that sort of writing is done by Jews to get revenge. Actually the Germans are the only decent people left in Europe. It s a choice between them and the Russians. I prefer the Germans. So do our cousins... (p. 744). Inarguably, these words written by Patton were possibly some of the most dangerous statements he could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. The Swimming Pool Reconstruction At Naperville North The swimming pool reconstruction at Naperville North was part of a two part renovation project, including the parking lot where the students park their cars. This two part project ended up costing the school $4,353,142.00, according to Lamp Incorporated Construction. Obviously, the parking lot renovations were completed for the beginning of the school year in August, because if they were not there would be no space for students to park and many people would be upset. There were fewer people to complain about the swimming pool not being completed for the start of the girls swim team season, so, logically, the parking lot was the more prominent focus of the construction workers to finish for the start of the school year.Needless to say the start of my high school swimming career did not go as I had imagined it, and the genderinequality became more and more evident as I continued in the NapervilleNorth swim team program. Nitric Oxide On Oxygen Levels Nitric Oxide on Hypoxia Levels in Metabolism and Vasoactivity Regulation This review paper is based on research and learned techniques through this semester (Fall 2015), conducted under Dr. Kenneth Kambis in the Adair Hall Facility. Although final approval was authorized in December, there were previous volunteers that were informed under another approval given. In the research project titled: Individual Variability Upon Acute Exposure to a Normobaric Hypoxic Environment Simulating a Physiologic Altitude Equivalent to 3,500 Meters it covered and explores hypoxia levels in various ethnic backgrounds at rigorous activity. The concept of metabolism and vasoactivity in certain species systems is highly regulated under laboratory conditions with proper materials, methods, and equipment. Measuring ranging levels of oxygenwhether in humans, sheep, rats or mice is essential to understand chemical regulation in the organism s system. This may be done in vivo or in vitro. In the laboratory, a normobaric hypoxia chamber is utilized to decrease the oxygen content of the chamber atmosphere to a percentage that closely reflects the partial pressure of oxygen in a given hypobaric environment without reducing the atmospheric pressure (Kambis, 2015). Thus the regulation of oxygen in partial pressures is similar to those found in hypobaric atmospheres of up to extreme altitude. Things that seem mysterious entice us, making us more inquisitive. It starts from an early age. In his analysis of scopophilia Freud uses the voyeuristic activities of children, because children are more curious and always want to see what is considered private (Mulvey, L. 2003: 59). The cinema industry has made it easier and appropriate for us to satisfy our curiosity as spectators. This is conventionally done by producing stories, using spaces and people that inhabit the real world, which we can easily recognize and identify with. The cinema industry has also been providing a space that allows the spectator to sit in the dark and be active observers of the people on screen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is an act of voyeurism as the spectators look through the screen. (Mulvey, L. 2003:60). The spectators have an understanding that it is a flat screen, that there is no depth but there is an illusion produced and they are looking through somewhat a mirror. This allows the spectators to see with pleasure but most importantly the spectators are in the dark and the objects of the gaze created for the sexual gratification of the spectators are in the light. So the spectators are able to observe them unobserved. We are safe in our scopophilic viewing, the pleasure is almost sexual gratification (Mulvey, L. 2003: 60).
