The Vagina Monologue
I attended the Vagina Monologues on Monday February 27th. It was very informative and intriguing
event. There were moments where I would laugh, while other moments I shed a tear. This event
involved 5 women sitting in chairs side by side. Each one told a story of who they were portraying to
be. One story involved rape, one was about an old lady, another was about a preexisting lawyer, and
many others. Their attire consisted of coordinated black white and red attire. They all had their own
specific body language and spark that moved the crowd. To start, I knew the basics of a women s
body. I know the anatomy and the functions of each parts. The monologue didn t go into depth about
how the body works or the physical appearance, in fact they

This must be done fairly. There are different types of dismissal: Fair dismissal Unfair dismissal
Constructive dismissal Wrongful dismissal
A dismissal is fair or unfair depending on: the employers reason for it and how they act during the
dismissal process.
Constructive dismissal is when an employee resigns due to a breach in employment contract. An
employee could claim constructive dismissal if: Their wages are cut without agreement Unlawful
demotion If the employer has allowed the employee to be harassed, bullied or discriminated against If
the employee s workload has been unfairly increased There has been a change in the employee s
location of workplace at short notice If the employer makes the employee work in dangerous
conditions.
A constructive dismissal isn t necessarily unfair, but it would be difficult for the employer to show that
a breach of contract was fair.
A constructive dismissal might lead to a claim for wrongful dismissal.
Wrongful dismissal is where the terms of an employee s contract are broken in the dismissal process,
e.g. dismissing someone without giving them proper notice.
Wrongful dismissal isn t the same as unfair dismissal.
Disciplinary procedures (The employment rights act 1996): Employers should have written
disciplinary rules and procedures to deal with employee performance and conduct, which thy must tell

Valley Forge Soldier
Valley Forge: Would you have stayed?
Pride is the best way to describe the feeling and anxiety of us soldiers: we feel confident that our cause
is worth fighting for. The Valley Forge army was supported and cared for by the Congress men which
made some soldiers stay. Many of the soldiers were ill, but still had the perseverance to keep fighting.
Valley Forge soldiers battled through difficulties of war. We know that life at Valley Forge was rough,
but it did not change the fact that this war is worth fighting for. I have decided to re enlist for three
reasons which are: I am fighting for freedom, some soldiers were happy, and the soldiers were
motivated to keep fighting.
In 1773 the Boston Tea Party was established. After, the installation ... Show more content on

I came to Valley Forge to fight for my freedom and my family. Us soldiers were motivated by a
speech, it made us keep fighting. Today we know that most of the army survived the winter (Roden
141). Once I realized that most of the Valley Forge army survived, that motivated myself to do my
best. Soldiers who did survive kept fighting and led us here. Victory seemed a long way off; in fact for
many, it seemed unlikely (Roden 141). I am only motivated by the fact that victory was a long way off
for many. We are determined to earn our victory. George Washington presented the Congressmen to
the Valley Forge soldiers (Powell 139). Valley Forge soldiers now know that we are motivated by the
action of the Congress. A great amount of soldiers died from illness, but the few who were alive were
still able to fight (Busch 147). The more soldiers we have the more confidence we gain. Since soldiers
were motivated, this is causing me to re enlist. Having determined soldiers motivated to fight is the
final reason why I am

Marita s Bargain Short Story
What changes take place that can actually make a one of a big difference to improve the success of
students. A change that can help many students in many ways that later on the future there is going to
be a big change and improvement on their lives. The change that has to happen now to be able to have
a better life and a easy path in life is to have a better support of motivation so the students can acutely
want to learn and be in school. In the story of Marita s Bargain explains how Everyone says that KPP
is hard, but once you get the hang of it, it s not really that hard. In the story Marita s is a young girl
who got the chance to be in a program name KPP where school was really challenging for her not only
because she is a young girl but becuase she and her family do not have the benefits of being wealthy,
so just with a chance even though she has to wake up really early and be up all day in school after all
you will eventually be use to it and it s going to be really easy at the end of the day. After all In return,
KIPP promises that it will take kids like her who are stuck in poverty and give them a chance to get
out. KPP is a one great program who prepare young kids for that later in the future they will have
something good out of it. And with the motivations that they get makes them want to do their
homeworks and not make them not go to school. These changes in Anaheim High School will sure
make a one of a big difference and the results are going to be really big with the students and a whole
big amount of students are really going to want to go to school and do good with the motivation and
later on in the future a bigger chance of change is going to be seen.
A difference is one of a big side of not being the same way as someone or something. Intelligence is
not known as to how students are viewed or seem to be smart. One of a big problem here in school is
how teachers only see that the smart kid is not struggling and the non smart kid is actually struggling
and when the teacher asks the class if they are doing fine if they need help only half of the kids that
somewhat get what they are doing say yes and the kids that have no idea of what they re doing on their
first try they do the job and

The Use of Chemical Weapons in the Tokyo Subway Attack Essay
The Use of Chemical Weapons in the Tokyo Subway Attack
Japan has long enjoyed the enviable reputation of being one of the safest nations in the world. The
country has one of the world lowest rates for murder and other violent crime, and the Japanese
National Police Agency and local Police forces are often praised as a model of law enforcement
efficiency. Tokyo enjoys one of the cleanest, safest and most efficient subway networks in the world.
Trains run on precise schedules and accommodate 2.7 billion passengers a year. All that changed on
March 20, 1995. A nightmare unfolded as the city of Tokyo experienced one of the worst terrorist
attacks of the century. This is what many considered to be the first true case of use of ... Show more

Some commentators began to think that the attack was targeted on NPA officers. Some commentators
evidently anticipated that the Tokyo attack was a prelude to the issuing of demands by the criminal.
Commentators also expressed surprise that, given the toxicity of sarin and the nature of the target, the
casualty had not in fact been much higher. Others suggested that the agent may simply have been
impure, perhaps deliberately diluted either self protection of the attackers or to keep the number of
fatalities low. This theory appeared confirmed by the discovery early on the traces of another
substance, acetonitrile (or methyl cyanide), which it could have been used to dilute the gas.
Some Unexplained Incidents: In the days following the subway attack, as the casualty toll continued
to rise, the Amu Shinri Kyo (or Supreme Truth ), whose leader Shoko Asahara, had in the past shown
an interested in chemical and biological warfare. Two days after the attack, large numbers of police
officers began massive raids on the sects many facilities throughout Japan, on the pretext of searching
for kidnap victims (since there was no immediate evidence linking it to the subway attack). At one
location particular, a compound or commune at Kamikuishiki in the surroundings of Mount Fuji 100
km west of Tokyo, they discovered extensive facilities for the

campaign such as (Product) RED. (Product) RED shows their corporate social responsibility by
engaging different companies that have products that we as the consumers use every day. Also, by

it a sign that they are making a commitment to corporate social responsibility or do you agree with
critics who say their involvement is an attempt to spit shine the company s image while continuing to
do business as usual? I think that it is a sign that they are making a commitment to corporate social
responsibility because many companies would not spend millions of dollars on a cause marketing

the company is facing. 3. Describe the various types of technology that have contributed to the media

Plot Points In Mean Girls
Acts and Plot Points
In class we learned that any script can be built up in to four parts, the parts being Act 1, Act 2, Act 3,
and the Ending. Act 1 is when the hero makes a wrong choice and it brings them to a decision where
they have to act to achieve their goal, it sets up the premise and is the beginning of the story. Act 2
follows with a series of events that prevent the character from achieving their goal. Act 3 is when the
hero confront their flaw in order to save them. And finally, the ending is an opportunity for the
audience to see what the hero learned through this experience. Every script can be broken up in to
three acts.
The introduction of Mean Girls begins by introducing Cady and setting up her character. We quickly
learn that she is a transfer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(One interesting thing is that the script has four goals, the fourth goal being her skanked out clothing
but the director clearly took out the fourth point. The main reason that I find this so interesting is
because of how prominent the idea of having things in threes is so much more appealing to
audiences.) Throughout the film it becomes evident that this large goal, built up with three smaller
goals is a challenge, but is achievable. Cady struggles with accomplishing it by having some events
set her back but in the end she is able to achieve it. The third part of a goal is that it needs to have the
character using her strengths in order to accomplish her goal. Well, if Cady s strengths are her
kindness, well, this becomes clear when Cady recognizes that she is in the wrong and becomes self
aware of how she has been influenced. She takes this and turns it around and shows kindness to the
other girls at prom as well as to the mathletes. These four points to the goal are evident throughout the
goal, therefore this script has a good goal that the audience can support in which the protagonist try to

The Nature Of Rome s Relationship
On the Nature of Rome s Relationship to the Individual and the Collective Livy s history tells in detail
the events that sum up to the life of Rome, from its inception to Augustus rule. Not a modern
historian, his writing is a milieu of transcribed cultural memory, creative narrative and more legitimate
historical writing. While there are undoubtedly moments of falsehood, it is equally true that Livy
captured many authentic historical facts in his work. In addition, this text became immensely popular
after its publishing, and so the vast audience the book enjoyed may have transformed literary fallacy
into accepted truth. What is certainly true is that Livy was writing in one of the most tumultuous
moments in Roman history; for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Livy s History portrays in early Rome the superior power of individuals over the collective in shaping
the world, their ability to enact change they themselves desire correlating to their consideration of the
collective s interest. Opposition to such a claim might make the correct observation that, over time,
power appears to dilute, slowly acquired by more and more of the populus romanus. kings make way
for consuls, patricians lose political monopolies to the plebs, etc. While the number of people with real
political power does in fact increase, collective action is almost never the impetus for any action in
Livy s writings. To start at the beginning, it is a series of kings transform an empty land to a sizeable
city state. After much warring, Numa established treaties and tempered the overly aggressive Roman
with religion (The Rise of Rome 24). Servius Tullius created the census, perhaps the greatest tool of
Roman governance (The Rise of Rome 50). But there was king Tarquinius Superbus. Not only did he
fail to contribute to the glory of Rome, but did he not also fall into exile by the hands of a collective?
No. He made the fatal error of crossing a powerful individual: Lucretia. After her rape by the king, she

The Western Artistic Tradition By Stephen Owen
The Western artistic tradition is limited to normative operations of representing reality through
mimesis while the Chinese were concerned with its hermeneutics. The Great Preface to the Book of
Songs claims that what a poem is consists in its articulation of inner intent (zhi 志). More importantly,
Stephen Owen points out that this zhi is something of an intense and involuntary fixture on reality.
With this in mind, Guo Xi echoes the words of the ancients by noting that a poem is a painting without
form and a painting is a poem with form. However, one can go even further by speculating that human
interpretations of reality call for a necessary mediation by form before they can be organized into
language. Thus, there is an immediate crossing over of spatial boundaries in the process of perceiving
reality, internalizing it, and manifesting it through a painting. Su Shi s notion of immediate reaction
complements the idea of zhi as involuntarily manifested, concerning a spontaneous movement of the
essence of reality from Nature to the human heart mind and finally into the painting.
The implication of this process is twofold, the first one being that the painter displaces an essential
Truth from the external world onto the silk scroll which says something about the world in which man
dwells. The second is that what the painting (including the process of painting) does is mediate a
necessary association between humans and the external world. The literati of Northern Song

Before 1990 and the emergence of disaster risk reduction...
Before 1990 and the emergence of disaster risk reduction or (DRR), humanitarianism, which is fueled
by the fervent belief in the kindness of strangers remained largely unchallenged as the preferred
approach to disaster management. (Hannigan 42). Humanitarian action is taken on a moral claim and
human rights are almost always based on a legal claim. Activism and humanitarianism have taken
parallel courses in recent years, due to the fact that the basis for intervention has shifted from
intervening states toward individual victims of abuses. (Hannigan 43). Not only has there been a shift
in intervention, but in how responses to humanitarian emergencies victims find themselves are
handled. I will explore the changes in responses to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It falls short on explaining why things like the famine in Ethiopia should have escalated into a
complex emergency the way it did. Ethiopia was ravaged by drought that caused a famine that killed
thousands of citizens in the African nation. Many nations and organizations stepped in to help but ran
into many roadblocks in trying to do so. Due to severe mismanagement of relief funds and food by the
government, those who needed help were not getting it.
The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), was more concerned as to how to the
government would respond to distributing whatever food was received rather than address the drought
and impending famine. (Keller 615). The FAO even denied the government assistance in 1981 and
1984, due to projected needs. Even the U.S. delayed responding to the crisis. They cut food donations
from 8,172 metric tons in 1982 to zero in 1984, even though millions were at risk of dying because of
the famine. (Keller 615). This source was proof that even though international organizations exist,
they can experience pitfalls and setbacks that Hannigan does not address. We have come a long way
from the famine in Ethiopia and in 2014; we would not have responded the way the Reagan
administration did. Many people lost their lives

Career Goals For My Career
Growing up, there were several different career paths I wanted to take but was not reachable at the
time. Throughout my high school my career goal was to be a civil or mechanical engineer. At the time,
it wasn t clear to me what an engineer s job function is. My family urged me to pursue that dream just
because of the perks that comes with it such as money. Math was never my strong suit, neither was
school and to become an engineer, several mathematics courses are required. My first two years as a
transfer student in college, I had no idea what my career path should be if engineering doesn t work
out. After taking careful consideration, working in the tech industry was something that needed to be
done. A few friends of mine gently pushed me in that direction, but my vision to pursue a career in
tech was a bit fuzzy. Eventually I started leaning towards business, but by then it was already too late
for me to switch majors. I chose Sociology as my major because I found the courses interesting to
learn, and it is something I can apply to business. Earlier this semester, I decided to push towards
specific fields such as sales or human resources. Eventually, I do see myself in a leadership position at
work such as a management position in my workplace. I do believe I have what it takes to become a
manager, but only after being with a company for some time so I can understand the concepts and how
to adapt to the given environment.

Phonological Awareness Paper
On January 30, 2018, at 2:00p.m., my newsletter presentation was given to four teachers in the
exceptional children s department at Douglas Byrd High School. It was important for me to review the
newsletter with my coworkers because our work team is currently in the process of gathering new
information for the start of the new semester which began on January 26, 2018. The age range of the
students in our department range from 15 19 years of age; however, because of their varied learning
disabilities and function levels, we use a lot of beginning reader teaching methods in an effort to work
more effectively with all of our students. The observation began with a review of what phonological
awareness means. According to Chard, D.J. Dickson, S.V. (2018), it is being aware of the fact that oral
language is made up of many smaller units, such as words and syllables. In order to be successful at
reading and writing language, an individual must develop skills in phonological awareness. Teaching
students to rhyme is very important also because it is one of the ways students show that they have an
awareness of phonological awareness. An example of rhyming is when a word is broken down by a
single letter or combination of letter sounds such as the word chop would be broken into the onset: ch
and rime: op. Students must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Tinker Vs. Des Moines Case
United States is one of the few nations that guarantees and protects freedom of expression of its
citizens. Freedom of expression is defined as a right to voice ones beliefs and ideas without any harm.
Under the Bill of Rights, the government has no power to restrict these unalienable rights. The First
Amendment is exceedingly important to the liberty and freedom of individuals. It guarantees citizens
the ability to express themselves, worship, voice their opinions, and rally to situations they disapprove
of and want to be heard. A great amount of laws and cases pertain to adults and their freedom. It is
often unrealized that adolescents and teenagers endure the same issues in their lives.
The Tinker vs. Des Moines case helped determined and interpret legal rights of young citizens for the
first time. A group of students made a decision to wear black armbands to school to support a peace
establishing agreement during the Vietnam War. As a result, the participating students; Mary Beth
Tinker, Christopher Eckhardt, and John Tinker got suspended for their actions (Tinker v. Des Moines
Independent Community School District). The school outlawed and attempted to penalize petitioners
for a silent, passive expression of opinion , that didn t cause any commotion (Tinker v. Des Moines
Independent Community School Dist). The parents decided to sue the school for disrespecting the
student s constitutional rights of expression.
The court decision was in favor of the students and

Comparison Of Oroonoko And Othello
Despite the obvious differences in Oroonoko and Othello, Othello being a play written in 1603 by
William Shakespeare and Oroonoko being a novel written in 1688 by Aphra Behn, the main characters
are both black men living in white societies. Throughout their journeys, Othello and Oroonoko
experience tragedies that result in the ending of their lives. Although their deaths are far from similar,
in both the reasoning and the action, the implications are comparable. Both men were pushed to the
point of no return by the influence of the people who surrounded them. Oroonoko and Othello s

about his reasoning behind his actions. The deal was that the captain would set ...[Oroonoko] ashore in
the next land they should touch at (Behn 35) and gave him his word. This did not happen, instead he
was sold into slavery and the captain s word, which rested on the Christian religion, became

Behn s novel. After the rebellion failed, Oroonoko s life was in jeopardy, yet he still did not back

Zimbabwean Refugees in South Africa
Post Apartheid South Africa has been a beacon of hope to the entire African continent. After its
democratic elections in 1994, South Africans were optimistic that life would be better and more equal
in every way. Many Africans used South Africa as a sign of better times to come and when these
hopes weren t realized in their own countries, an influx of immigrants appeared at South Africa s
borders. These newcomers arrived for a variety of reasons, many were escaping violence and torture
in their homelands while others were economic refugees who were seeking employment in South
Africa s growing economy.

The criteria for the program included proof of formal employment, a specified salary, and the payment
of the initial deposit and monthly installments (Zimbabwe, 4). The government was hoping to expel
the poor from urban areas, forcing them to the city outskirts and eventually out of sight back to rural
areas. The obstruction of international humanitarian assistance, the forced involuntary relocation to
rural areas as well as restrictions on their economic activities highlights quite a predicament that some
700,000 Zimbabweans were in (Zimbabwe, 23).
Those who escape do not necessarily trade their rags for riches. South Africa has had to adjust to the
influx of immigrants and simply has not been able to provide the necessary services for the many
thousands who are trying to integrate into the country. The Zimbabwe Torture Victims Project (ZVTP)
asked respondents whether they had ever been direct victims of violence and/ or torture, and whether
they had been threatened or intimidated by members or supporters of a political party or the security
forces. 30% said they had been direct victims of violence or torture. Of these, 47% can be identified as
having clinically significant psychological disorders and the prevalence rate overall was 14%
(Zimbabwe Torture Victims Project, 10). Despite this data, little resources are available to treat or to
alleviate the problems these individuals face.

The Theory Of Scientific Revolutions
In my essay I plan to argue that Thomas Kuhn was incorrect when he presented his theory that no
paradigm is better than any other paradigm and how he believed that people who occupy different
paradigms are in different universes, in his book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. I believe that
there is no valid deductive or inductive support for incommensurability, there are examples against it
throughout the history of science that do not exhibit the discontinuity and replacement of paradigms,
as Kuhn s incommensurability thesis predicts, but rather continuity and supplementation. If this is
correct, then there are no compelling epistemic reasons to believe that Kuhn s incommensurability

Cheryl s Journey Character Analysis
To hike the PCT, one would need to have three things: experience of hiking, knowledge of survival,
and the drive to continue forward. When Cheryl set foot on the trail, she knew nothing of hiking
besides a few basic skills she was taught by her step father. She suffered from her lack of knowledge
until she met these three people. One of these characters was an elderly man named Albert. His role as
mentor was brief yet the one of the most notable throughout Cheryl s journey. Albert is a seasoned
hiker who Cheryl met on the way to her first checkpoint. At first he teased her about the size of her
backpack then proceeded to ask her about her health (Strayed 93). The scene that presented Albert s
role as one of her mentors was in Chapter 7, ...feeling as if I were taking a test that I was bound to fail.
When I was done, Albert returned and methodically unpacked my pack. He placed each item in one of
two piles one to go back into my pack, another to go into the now empty resupply box... (Strayed
106). Cheryl considered Albert s method to packing every time she stopped a camping site. As Cheryl

her willpower to continue the hike and thought of quitting countless times but as she states after this
passage, I hiked in the heat of that day with a new determination inspired by Greg s faith in me, I didn
t give quitting another thought (Strayed 89). If it weren t for Greg encouraging her and telling her that
she has the strength to continue, Cheryl would have turned back. Her life before the PCT wasn t

How Far Do You Agree That Hitler’s Regime Was a ‘Consensus...
How far do you agree that Hitler s Regime was a consensus dictatorship ? A consensus dictatorship is
on that suggests Hitler s regime was surrounded by a general agreement. This would mean that the
majority of the German public were in cooperation with the Nazi regime and agreed with both the
enforced and promoted concept of the regime. Hitler had mainly achieved this by trying to win over
the hearts and minds of all non Jewish Germans this would mean he would have the majority of the
Germans citizens on his side. However, it is also suggested that many of the people had only
consented due to fear which can be inferred from source 5 that it was the methods of the Nazi
apparatus of terror that had led to the people conforming. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The public voluntarily had given in the names of Jews to the Nazis due to jealousy and terror imposed
on them by the Nazi s which suggests that the terror apparatus used on civilians was effective and the
public were forced to conform to the dictatorship but overall most people acted towards their own
benefit and the countless denunciations which included false accusations indicate that the regime was
a consensus dictatorship. On the other hand, the opposition faced by the Nazi regime is evidence that
the Nazi Regime was not a consented one. In Source 5 it mentions the political opponents being
detained in the concentration camps but even with this sort of mass terror of demolishing the left there
was signs of opposition against the regime. The fact that there were low level resistance jokes around
shows the Nazis were unpopular. People were trying to pick holes in the system rather than just accept
it. People were trying to spread the word. This also indicated the fear people had of Hitler and it was
this fear that forced the people to conform. The Church although having an agreement with Hitler
called the concordat had stood against the regime a number of times. For example, Bishop von Galen
of Munster had stood against the euthanasia programmes. There was also opposition from the youth,
an example the swing kids, they expressed their individuality by wearing their hair long and listened
to jazz. But most opposition and resistance was only involved

Essay Sam Houston
Sam Houston
Sam Houston was as legend reports a big man about six foot and six inches tall. He was an exciting
historical figure and war hero who was involved with much of the early development of our country
and Texas. He was a soldier, lawyer, politician, businessman, and family man, whose name will be
synonymous with nation heroes who played a vital part in the shaping of a young and prosperous
country. He admired and supported the Native Americans who took him in and adopted him into their
culture to help bridge the gap between the government and a noble forgotten race. Sam Houston
succeeded in many roles he donned as a man, but the one most remembered is the one of a true

Research Note On Distressed Debt
Research Note on Distressed Debt
Distressed securities are securities of companies or government that are experiencing distress (either
in financial or operational terms), default, or even bankruptcy. In case of debt, this is called distressed
debt. Investing in distressed debt can result in big returns, but the downside is that when a company
goes completely bankrupt, the value of your securities can go to zero.
Distressed debt sells at a very low percentage of par value, for example 30 cents on the dollar. This
percentage indicates that you can buy debt that is worth 1$ at maturity for 30 cents, which seems very
attractive but there is of course a reason that it is only worth 30 cents on the dollar. If the distressed
company emerges as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This limits the scope of potential investors to sophisticated individual investors, hedge funds, private
equity firms, vulture funds, and certain investment banks. The majority of distressed debt is bought by
these institutional investors because they have the resources, expertise, and sophisticated risk
management systems to assess the risk of these debt securities.
There are various ways investors can invest in distressed debt. The easiest way is to buy the distressed
debt in the bond market. Because most mutual funds are not allowed to invest in distressed debt, there
is ample supply of debt available shortly after a firm defaults. The second way is to buy distressed
debt directly from a mutual fund, since they have to sell according to their mandate. These
transactions are generally limited to institutional investors since large quantities of debt, and therefore
large quantities of cash, exchange hands. The third and final options is to buy directly into the
distressed firm. This involves working directly with the company to extend its credit, either in the
form of bonds or a revolving line of credit. Distressed companies usually need significant amounts of
cash for a turnaround, so it is common for a consortium of investment banks and hedge funds to
provide this cash to avoid overexposure to one

Comparison Of Greed In Elle Woods s Legally Blonde
Despite physical beauty, greed can create an ugly personality that affects relationships with others.
Elle Woods, worked her way up from nothing more than living as a pretty girl to get into Harvard, in
the movie Legally Blonde. While Glinda, of Wicked, used her high social status to remain in power by
tromping down others. Glinda the Good is known as the epitome of goodness but she stepped on other
to work her way up. Elle Woods however, was ambitious and worked hard to better herself and built
her way up to prevail as powerful. Both of these women may seem nothing more than beautiful, but
they arose above what people thought they could become to ensue as powerful, although in extremely
different ways. Glinda s greed left her well liked, but also isolated, depressed and alone, while Elle
Woods s ambition gave her a happier future and more successful life.
At the beginning of Legally Blonde, Elle Woods loses the man she loves to a different girl, which
makes her very upset. Vivian, the girl Elle s ex ended up going out with after Elle and her boyfriend
broke up, was extremely mean to Elle, but she didn t let it get the best of her. When asked how her
first day continued after meeting Vivian, Elle describes it as, good, except for this horrible preppy
girl..who made me look bad in front of the professor. But no biggie (SergeiK). Despite being bullied

College Accreditation
Pam: Are Online Master of Accounting Degrees Accredited?
Prospective finance students may be interested in pursuing an accredited Online Master of
Accounting. While an online education offers affordable flexibility, some students still worry about
the accreditation quality of their online program. Read on to learn about college accreditation for
accounting degrees.
Why Does Accreditation Matter?
College accreditation refers to the voluntary review of educational programs by independent
organizations in order to verify the school s academic quality and consistency. Colleges that maintain
accreditation from prestigious accrediting agencies demonstrate that their institution continually
maintains the highest learning standards. On the other hand, accreditation is also important because it
helps determine the college s eligibility for federal Title IV assistance, state financial aid programs and
employer tuition assistance programs. Additionally, recognized accreditation is an essential
requirement for graduate programs, college credit transfers and professional licensure, such as an
accounting CPA credential.

Amistad Field Trip
To be honest, I really did not want to go to see the Amistad, even though I had completed all written
requirements because I believed the boat was small and cramped. Jackie, who was the instructor of the
Amistad, who spoke at Options, gave us background history about the boat. It was from this
background history that I interpreted the boat was small and cramped. Even though I had not seen the
boat in person, I believed it was tiny and restricted.
My teachers at Options and my parents tried to convince me to go on the Amistad field trip. Elin
offered me information about who was going on the trip, the food that was being ordered, and staff
that were going. The Options staff that were traveling to see the ship were my teachers. My parents
persuaded me by stating that this might be the only time I see a piece of history like this because the
Amistad sails all over the country. One never knows when the Amistad will be in port in Connecticut.
My anxiety concerning the size of the boat dissipated because the Amistad ... Show more content on

I had gotten to school extra early because we were set to leave at 8:30 knowing it would take an hour
to get their. When we got to the boat it was misting out but that soon ended. We climbed aboard and
we went below deck. As soon as I heard how to climb down to get below deck(climb down backwards
like on a latter) I got nervous knowing my might slip and fall as it was raining with my wet shoes.
Wendy went first and was my spotter and helped me get down. After we got down we learned some
more history. Afterwards, we went above deck and learned how to tie knots when you sail on a ship. I
surprised myself at how well I was able to do some of them. Next, we went to the other side of the
ship and learned how they navigate the ship with their compass. After all that we took a few pictures
and had lunch, then left to go back to

  • 2. The Vagina Monologue I attended the Vagina Monologues on Monday February 27th. It was very informative and intriguing event. There were moments where I would laugh, while other moments I shed a tear. This event involved 5 women sitting in chairs side by side. Each one told a story of who they were portraying to be. One story involved rape, one was about an old lady, another was about a preexisting lawyer, and many others. Their attire consisted of coordinated black white and red attire. They all had their own specific body language and spark that moved the crowd. To start, I knew the basics of a women s body. I know the anatomy and the functions of each parts. The monologue didn t go into depth about how the body works or the physical appearance, in fact they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Valley Forge Soldier Valley Forge: Would you have stayed? Pride is the best way to describe the feeling and anxiety of us soldiers: we feel confident that our cause is worth fighting for. The Valley Forge army was supported and cared for by the Congress men which made some soldiers stay. Many of the soldiers were ill, but still had the perseverance to keep fighting. Valley Forge soldiers battled through difficulties of war. We know that life at Valley Forge was rough, but it did not change the fact that this war is worth fighting for. I have decided to re enlist for three reasons which are: I am fighting for freedom, some soldiers were happy, and the soldiers were motivated to keep fighting. In 1773 the Boston Tea Party was established. After, the installation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I came to Valley Forge to fight for my freedom and my family. Us soldiers were motivated by a speech, it made us keep fighting. Today we know that most of the army survived the winter (Roden 141). Once I realized that most of the Valley Forge army survived, that motivated myself to do my best. Soldiers who did survive kept fighting and led us here. Victory seemed a long way off; in fact for many, it seemed unlikely (Roden 141). I am only motivated by the fact that victory was a long way off for many. We are determined to earn our victory. George Washington presented the Congressmen to the Valley Forge soldiers (Powell 139). Valley Forge soldiers now know that we are motivated by the action of the Congress. A great amount of soldiers died from illness, but the few who were alive were still able to fight (Busch 147). The more soldiers we have the more confidence we gain. • 6. Marita s Bargain Short Story What changes take place that can actually make a one of a big difference to improve the success of students. A change that can help many students in many ways that later on the future there is going to be a big change and improvement on their lives. The change that has to happen now to be able to have a better life and a easy path in life is to have a better support of motivation so the students can acutely want to learn and be in school. In the story of Marita s Bargain explains how Everyone says that KPP is hard, but once you get the hang of it, it s not really that hard. In the story Marita s is a young girl who got the chance to be in a program name KPP where school was really challenging for her not only because she is a young girl but becuase she and her family do not have the benefits of being wealthy, so just with a chance even though she has to wake up really early and be up all day in school after all you will eventually be use to it and it s going to be really easy at the end of the day. After all In return, KIPP promises that it will take kids like her who are stuck in poverty and give them a chance to get out. KPP is a one great program who prepare young kids for that later in the future they will have something good out of it. And with the motivations that they get makes them want to do their homeworks and not make them not go to school. These changes in Anaheim High School will sure make a one of a big difference and the results are going to be really big with the students and a whole big amount of students are really going to want to go to school and do good with the motivation and later on in the future a bigger chance of change is going to be seen. The Use of Chemical Weapons in the Tokyo Subway Attack Essay The Use of Chemical Weapons in the Tokyo Subway Attack Japan has long enjoyed the enviable reputation of being one of the safest nations in the world. The country has one of the world lowest rates for murder and other violent crime, and the Japanese National Police Agency and local Police forces are often praised as a model of law enforcement efficiency. Tokyo enjoys one of the cleanest, safest and most efficient subway networks in the world. Trains run on precise schedules and accommodate 2.7 billion passengers a year. Some commentators evidently anticipated that the Tokyo attack was a prelude to the issuing of demands by the criminal. Commentators also expressed surprise that, given the toxicity of sarin and the nature of the target, the casualty had not in fact been much higher. Others suggested that the agent may simply have been impure, perhaps deliberately diluted either self protection of the attackers or to keep the number of fatalities low. This theory appeared confirmed by the discovery early on the traces of another substance, acetonitrile (or methyl cyanide), which it could have been used to dilute the gas. Some Unexplained Incidents: In the days following the subway attack, as the casualty toll continued to rise, the Amu Shinri Kyo (or Supreme Truth ), whose leader Shoko Asahara, had in the past shown an interested in chemical and biological warfare. Two days after the attack, large numbers of police officers began massive raids on the sects many facilities throughout Japan, on the pretext of searching for kidnap victims (since there was no immediate evidence linking it to the subway attack). • 9. Plot Points In Mean Girls Acts and Plot Points In class we learned that any script can be built up in to four parts, the parts being Act 1, Act 2, Act 3, and the Ending. Act 1 is when the hero makes a wrong choice and it brings them to a decision where they have to act to achieve their goal, it sets up the premise and is the beginning of the story. Act 2 follows with a series of events that prevent the character from achieving their goal. Act 3 is when the hero confront their flaw in order to save them. And finally, the ending is an opportunity for the audience to see what the hero learned through this experience. Every script can be broken up in to three acts. (One interesting thing is that the script has four goals, the fourth goal being her skanked out clothing but the director clearly took out the fourth point. The main reason that I find this so interesting is because of how prominent the idea of having things in threes is so much more appealing to audiences.) Throughout the film it becomes evident that this large goal, built up with three smaller goals is a challenge, but is achievable. Cady struggles with accomplishing it by having some events set her back but in the end she is able to achieve it. The third part of a goal is that it needs to have the character using her strengths in order to accomplish her goal. Well, if Cady s strengths are her kindness, well, this becomes clear when Cady recognizes that she is in the wrong and becomes self aware of how she has been influenced. She takes this and turns it around and shows kindness to the other girls at prom as well as to the mathletes. Not a modern historian, his writing is a milieu of transcribed cultural memory, creative narrative and more legitimate historical writing. While there are undoubtedly moments of falsehood, it is equally true that Livy captured many authentic historical facts in his work. Livy s History portrays in early Rome the superior power of individuals over the collective in shaping the world, their ability to enact change they themselves desire correlating to their consideration of the collective s interest. Opposition to such a claim might make the correct observation that, over time, power appears to dilute, slowly acquired by more and more of the populus romanus. kings make way for consuls, patricians lose political monopolies to the plebs, etc. While the number of people with real political power does in fact increase, collective action is almost never the impetus for any action in Livy s writings. To start at the beginning, it is a series of kings transform an empty land to a sizeable city state. After much warring, Numa established treaties and tempered the overly aggressive Roman with religion (The Rise of Rome 24). Servius Tullius created the census, perhaps the greatest tool of Roman governance (The Rise of Rome 50). But there was king Tarquinius Superbus. • 12. The Western Artistic Tradition By Stephen Owen The Western artistic tradition is limited to normative operations of representing reality through mimesis while the Chinese were concerned with its hermeneutics. The Great Preface to the Book of Songs claims that what a poem is consists in its articulation of inner intent (zhi 志). More importantly, Stephen Owen points out that this zhi is something of an intense and involuntary fixture on reality. With this in mind, Guo Xi echoes the words of the ancients by noting that a poem is a painting without form and a painting is a poem with form. However, one can go even further by speculating that human interpretations of reality call for a necessary mediation by form before they can be organized into language. Thus, there is an immediate crossing over of spatial boundaries in the process of perceiving reality, internalizing it, and manifesting it through a painting. Su Shi s notion of immediate reaction complements the idea of zhi as involuntarily manifested, concerning a spontaneous movement of the essence of reality from Nature to the human heart mind and finally into the painting. The implication of this process is twofold, the first one being that the painter displaces an essential Truth from the external world onto the silk scroll which says something about the world in which man dwells. The second is that what the painting (including the process of painting) does is mediate a necessary association between humans and the external world. The literati of Northern Song ... Due to severe mismanagement of relief funds and food by the government, those who needed help were not getting it. The U.N. In order to be successful at reading and writing language, an individual must develop skills in phonological awareness. The First Amendment is exceedingly important to the liberty and freedom of individuals. It guarantees citizens the ability to express themselves, worship, voice their opinions, and rally to situations they disapprove of and want to be heard. The Theory Of Scientific Revolutions In my essay I plan to argue that Thomas Kuhn was incorrect when he presented his theory that no paradigm is better than any other paradigm and how he believed that people who occupy different paradigms are in different universes, in his book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. I believe that there is no valid deductive or inductive support for incommensurability, there are examples against it throughout the history of science that do not exhibit the discontinuity and replacement of paradigms, as Kuhn s incommensurability thesis predicts, but rather continuity and supplementation. If this is correct, then there are no compelling epistemic reasons to believe that Kuhn s incommensurability thesis is true or probable. The argument that the point of the same kind terms changes or ceases from one theoretical context to another, it does not fundamentally mean that these two abstract frameworks are taxonomically or methodologically incommensurable. Kuhn s theory takes a relativist stance and uses it to make all theories and paradigms equal with none being better than the other. • 28. Research Note On Distressed Debt Research Note on Distressed Debt Distressed securities are securities of companies or government that are experiencing distress (either in financial or operational terms), default, or even bankruptcy. In case of debt, this is called distressed debt. Investing in distressed debt can result in big returns, but the downside is that when a company goes completely bankrupt, the value of your securities can go to zero. Distressed debt sells at a very low percentage of par value, for example 30 cents on the dollar. This percentage indicates that you can buy debt that is worth 1$ at maturity for 30 cents, which seems very attractive but there is of course a reason that it is only worth 30 cents on the dollar. If the distressed company emerges as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This limits the scope of potential investors to sophisticated individual investors, hedge funds, private equity firms, vulture funds, and certain investment banks. The majority of distressed debt is bought by these institutional investors because they have the resources, expertise, and sophisticated risk management systems to assess the risk of these debt securities. There are various ways investors can invest in distressed debt. The easiest way is to buy the distressed debt in the bond market. Because most mutual funds are not allowed to invest in distressed debt, there is ample supply of debt available shortly after a firm defaults. The second way is to buy distressed debt directly from a mutual fund, since they have to sell according to their mandate. These transactions are generally limited to institutional investors since large quantities of debt, and therefore large quantities of cash, exchange hands. The third and final options is to buy directly into the distressed firm. This involves working directly with the company to extend its credit, either in the form of bonds or a revolving line of credit. Distressed companies usually need significant amounts of cash for a turnaround, so it is common for a consortium of investment banks and hedge funds to provide this cash to avoid overexposure to one ...
