Human Experiences In Harry Potter And The Cursed Child
Human Experiences in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Most likely before the age of 14, teenagers experience a situation where they think they feel as though
they are out of place. In the novel, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, by J.K. Rowling, J.K. Rowling
writes about the struggles of a teenage boy by the name of Albus Potter. His father, Harry Potter, is
very famous and receives plenty more attention than Albus likes. Albus is very different from Harry.
He feels as though like his father fails to understand him. Albus knows very little about the sacrifices
that were made during the time his father was his age and all the pain surrounding Harry s childhood.

They are very different, but also alike in many ways. Some may argue that Albus is more like Ginny
than Harry. However, this hardly holds any truth. Ginny did not have a saving people thing (Rowling,
J.K. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ) as Harry did. Many readers may testify that Albus
going back to save Cedric Diggory definitely qualifies as a saving people thing. This makes Albus and
Harry more similar than Albus realizes in the beginning, middle, or end of Harry Potter and the Cursed
Child. J.K. Rowling s use of immense detail in her novels illustrates the characters, relationships, and
settings better than a drawing ever

Ministries Of The Church From A Biblical Standpoint
Ministries in the Church From a Biblical Standpoint
Eston Racey
THEO 202 001
March 10, 2017 The topic discussed in this paper is the doctrine of the ministries of the church. This
doctrine informs of the different services and resources performed or distributed by the church.
Whether being the church as a whole or on the local level of the community and the world. This topic,
though it may seem relatively simple on the surface, is very important. There are many different
interpretations and practices of how the church should or should not perform ministry. A clear
understanding of the surrounding people and culture, as well as biblical truth is required or chaos and
disunity will be the outcome. To begin a theological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that along with the leaders of the church being required to minister, but all believers in
Christ as well. This is seen clearly in Mathew 28:19 20, as Jesus is addressing His followers
instructing them to go out into the world and make disciples of Him. This command was not just in
regard s to the original twelve disciples but a command for all believers to come. Ministry has no
perfect formula or model that all churches or believers should follow. 1 Corinthians 12:4 6 in short
says, that their is one true God who has given everyone different abilities, gifts, and purposes. These
things allow each person to minister in different ways and spread His Word. So in essence not only is
everyone called to minister and share the gospel, but also everyone will share biblical truth in the way
God intend them to. Believers must allow God to work through them and take hold of the unique traits
He has gifted to each individual, so that His Word may be spread.
Throughout the different periods in church history: The Ancient Church (100 AD 590 AD), The
Medieval Church (590 1570 AD), The Reformation and Counter Reformation (1570 1648AD) and
The Modern Church (1648 present), the church has developed many different ways of interpreting
what scripture said and how to apply it to church ministry. The Ancient Church (100 590 AD), refers
to the era directly after Jesus crucifixion and ascension into Heaven. This time period was the
beginning of the first church and only

Dual Credit Course
This semester taking English dual credit I believe that not only my writing skills have improved but
my reading skills as well. Through this course I have learned how to find the deeper meanings of other
author s writings. I learned that part of understanding and comprehending comes from being able to
analyze. By learning how to analyze my skills as a writer have improved because I am able to use
some of the other writers skills and techniques on my own paper. Overall this course has helped me
tremendously. When comparing the other dual credit course I took last year to this course I would
have to say that the difficulty of both courses is similar even though the courses are very different.
One reason that made the other dual credit course I took which was U.S. History seem more ... Show

This year with the assignments being due on mainly Sundays it has helped substantially, I am now
able to submit the work because my Sundays are not as busy. A reason for this class being harder is
because this course was a more time demanding, but I think it may be all English classes. The reason
for it being more time consuming is because in my other classes it was mostly just answering multiple
choice questions while this course is more breaking down components which takes a lot more thinking
which take sup more time. One big advantage of this course for me was that there were no test. I am
not a very good test taker because I think too much and sometimes get anxiety. This has affected me in
other classes because my bad testing skills results in bad grade on test which leads to the outcome of
my grades falling. With there not being any test, the stress that I would get is not there anymore. I am
able to write freely and not have anxiety and stress myself out. Another aspect of this course I believe

Reading 7: Unromancing the Dream Summary
The reading begins with two researchers Aserinsky and Dement, researching into why humans need
sleep. Then, it begins to talk about another two researchers, Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley. They
both came up with a new theory about dreaming, which was in essence, was that dreams are nothing
more than your attempt to interpret random electrical impulses produced automatically in your brain
during REM sleep. (Hock 2013). Basically what they were saying is that while we sleep, a part of our
brain produces electrical charges in the brain stem. While we sleep most other parts of the brain are
inactive, but the brain stem isn t. Hobson and

Narrative Essay On A Carnival Dream
The memorable mornings of waking up on a rocking ship in the vast ocean cannot be properly
described without experiencing it first. When I look off the balcony of our ship and see rolling waves
of deep blue water, I imagine the strange and wonderful creatures of the ocean. The miles and miles
straight down into the abyss can only be imagined, yet can never be understood or fathomed by the
mind. While the ocean is incredible, so many other things are happening around you on the cruise
ship. My family has made so many unimaginable memories on our superb vacations. While the
thought of being in the middle of the ocean and going to foreign countries excited me, I was nervous
at the same time. The summer of 2015 changed my life. My family journeyed to New Orleans amid
the horribly humid summer heat. My parents, my brother, and I had never been on a cruise before, but
we had heard so many great things and were expecting just that. We arrived the night before the cruise
and had previously decided to spend the night in New Orleans. We did not want to risk being late and
missing our awaited trip. The next morning we drove the streets of New Orleans and discovered the
port where we would soon board the boat. We were finally ready to board the expansive Carnival
Dream! After working our way through lengthy health forms, metal detectors, and other forms of
security, we claimed our spot on the ship at the buffet. Before we knew it, we were tossing the ropes
from the port and heading

Our world is currently facing a deadly epidemic which we are calling it a very dangerous viruses that
humanity is facing since HIV/AIDS. This virus is called the Ebola hemorrhagic virus. Although there
were broadcasts about tentative cures that were conveyed to be prosperous with treating the virus,
people all around the world remain to pass on from Ebola. Although this virus is fatal, its signs are
occasionally the same as other less dangerous diseases like the flu or a fever. To relax your anxiety
about the spreading of the virus, it is very important to know what people are currently dealing with
when it comes to this sad epidemic. On the banks of the Ebola River in 1976, Ebola was first revealed
first in Africa. There are two types of the virus some are deadly and some are not. There were only

Compare And Contrast Essay On The Lovely Bones
Compare and Contrast of the remediation of Novels to film with reference to The Lovely Bones.
The Lovely Bones is a 2002 novel by Alice Sebold about a teenage girl called Susie Salmon, a 14 year
old girl who was raped and murdered by her neighbour George Harvey in 1973. She then watches
from her own personal Heaven as her family and friends struggle to move on with their lives while she
comes to terms with her own death. We follow Susie Salmon throughout the story as she witnesses the
events on the earth, experiencing hopes and longings for the everyday things she can no longer do. In
2005 Director Peter Jackson secured the books film rights and created his own film adaptation in 2009
which was met with mixed reviews but overall was well received. The film relatively stays faithful to
the novel by Alice Sebold but major themes of the story are glanced over or emphasized, characters
aren t as developed and some major plot points are missing entirely.
The novel The Lovely Bones has many characters who each have their own subplots which contribute
to the overall story in minor ways and gives the reader the opportunity to learn about each character.
For example one of the biggest elements of the story is Heaven and its depiction. In the novel Sebold
who was raised Episcopalian intended the heaven to be simplistic in design and not to be the focus of
the story. Unlike in Peter Jackson s film where heaven is ultimately a large proportion of the film,
focusing more on spectacle

The Growth And Poverty Improvement Of A Country Essay
CHAPTER 1 1.1.1 INTERNSHIP INTRODUCTION Finance is assumed to be one of the most

Theme Of Forgiveness In Purgatorio
The act of forgiveness may appear to be a simple task. Well, it is not. The play Purgatorio written by
Ariel Dorfman explores the concepts of revenge, repentance and forgiveness that progresses deeply
into the concept of love and betrayal. The play attempts to provide the answers to questions such as,
how can people move on with their lives without forgiveness? But how can you forgive someone who
does not want to be forgiven? Purgatorio is a glimpse of what can actually happen to people whose
sins of their past can still haunts them even after death.
Honestly, when the lights first opened and only revealed a plain white set with a chair, table, and a
bed, disappointing thoughts flooded my mine as I assumed that my money will be put into waste by
spending it to a play that consists of only two characters placed in a boring set. Initially, we know
nothing about the man and the woman. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Needless to say, this is the judgement area after one s death where a soul must achieve the state of
repentance before being accepted to heaven. It was clear why the walls were stained with white;
however, Dorfman interpreted purgatory as a familiar therapy or interrogation session situated in a
room that can be associated with an asylum or prison which is why the woman was in black while the
man was dressed like a doctor. The bareness of the room heightens the process of the purgation of the
souls and to literally portray purgatory as a lifeless place wherein the individuals can only focus on the
purification of their souls. The souls are trapped and can only go out if they abide with the rules and
procedures which are being monitored by a CCTV camera. A mind might wonder why there is a
camera in the purgatory. Every detail of the play has hidden and different meanings, including the

Implementing Nationwide Health Enrichment Goals And...
Initial Post: Access to healthcare
Paula Moran Lally Healthy People 2020 aims to establish nationwide health enrichment goals and
increase public knowledge regarding the indicators for health, disease and disabilities while
supporting opportunities for enhancement (Nies McEwen, 2015). One of the most crucial goals Access
to Health Care has been highlighted in lieu of the fact that in 2014 the United States health care
system needed to provide the 32 million uninsured Americans with needed health insurance for the
first time as a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Healthy People 2020, 2012). The ACA has

There are many key components in approaching access to health care: coverage, services, timeliness
and workforce (Healthy People 2020, 2015). Patients who have a positive and consistent source of
care will ultimately have better end results, minor discrepancies and fewer costs (Healthy People
2020, 2015). Timeliness is the health system s capability to optimize services in a convenient manner,
whether it embraces the time spent either waiting in a doctor s office or an emergency department. At
the same time for many patients it encompasses the time between analyzing the need for tests or
treatment and obtaining those results. Working as an ER nurse there has been incredible long waiting
times in emergency rooms secondary to the fact that people are using the ER for care and more
notably as their primary care physician. Likewise prolonged Emergency department wait times can
decrease patient satisfaction and notably people leave without been seen. Finally the different element
of workforce is vital in contributing access to health services. Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) play an
important role in providing access to health services and it has been noted that many medical students
are leaning away from working in primary care (Healthy People 2020, 2015). Our ultimate goal is to
direct them towards that needed profession. The Healthy People 2020 leading health

It executes Bataille s need to express through his writings what could not be contained by the cultural
system within which he lived and worked, and it expresses his need to recognize the existence of what
the system cannot contain the vision of that other eye out of which he looks at the world. Thus rather
than dismiss this text as juvenile or adolescent writing, readers should be aware of it as an early
declaration of identity formation, one affected by actual events in his life and, although
overwhelmingly privileging his sexual obsessions, one which contains nevertheless the core of his

In Bataille s profession of librarianship, cataloging or classification of material becomes obsessive to
the extent that every item within a collection must have a named place or it cannot have a place in the

U.s. Military Draft History
The draft started on April 16, 1862 for the Confederate States during the Civil War. The Union then
conducted their own draft on March 3, 1863. The Northern 1862 draft was an attempt to let states
handle their own conscriptions, instead of the old volunteer militia. The next draft took place on
September 16, 1940 for World War I and remained in effect continuously until 1973. The president,
Woodrow Wilson, decided that A draft was needed and nearly 3,000,000 soldiers were drafted
following the Service Act of 1917. (Understanding the U.S. Military Draft History 1). The reasoning
behind President Wilson calling for the draft is because Before the draft only 73,000 soldiers
volunteered during the first 6 weeks of World War I (Understanding the U.S. Military Draft History 1).
Before July of 1973 The draft was in effect continuously from 1940 to 1973 (Smith 1). This means
that more than 10,000,000 men were drafted and sent off into battle throughout the past wars. One of
the most controversial drafts was the infamous Vietnam War Era. The Vietnam war was also called the
Ten Thousand Day War because of how long it took to end. The United States was not initially

Japanese Literature Throughout History And History
In Japanese literature throughout history, there tends to be an idea of nature that is not nature as it
really is, but is a projection of the subjective self. This is portrayed through the concept of Mappō.
Mappō in Japanese Buddhism, is the age of the degeneration of the Buddha s law, when only the
teachings remained, the practices were no longer pursued, and enlightenment was a mere word. This is
a concept that has substance, especially when combined with mujō, the idea of impermanence. Mujō
became an idea because Buddha taught that because all things within our lives and our world are
constantly changing, it s important to remember that nothing is permanent. Kamo no Chōmei s writing
presents a variety of elements related to Mappō, which, through the concept of mujō, shows the
impermanence of nature as well as humanity fading into the vastness of nothingness. Through the
traditions of simplicity, isolation, and religion, specifically Buddhism and the Lotus Sutra, Hōjōki
shows this disastrous fleeting through a calm, poetic, narrative voice. This paper will argue that
themes of nature are connected to the idea of the subjective self, through impermanence, and studies
how Chōmei s worldview affects his perspective on nature and the natural world.
Immediately, Kamo introduces Hōjōki with a smooth, pessimistic, poetic tone, describing the
impermanence of foam floating in a river pool. This gives the reader an abrupt sense of sadness which
is further produced through a direct

Expectation In Emerson s Self-Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson argues in the essay Self Reliance how not being independent could potentially
take a person to hate his/her inner self, which is truly seen in today s world which makes Emerson s
claim practical because imitation turns individuals to be someone else.
Many people around the world envy, but some take it to another level. According to Psychology
Today, it states that being envied is dangerous do to those who are victims of jealousy. They state that,
People who are the recipients of envy can feel uncomfortable and hurt. What this statement points out
is that people desire to be someone else which leads to an ambition on knowing everything of that
individual. The victims of these jealousies catch scareness and awareness because of the stalkers that
follow them everywhere at every moment. Many members of society are focused on others than in
themselves. Researchers have shown that individuals focus on what they hate about the person than on
what should be appreciated. A few take envy as an evil stitution which only points out the negative
side and not the positive side of the person, which leads to other citizens doing harm. For example,
nowadays they are hundreds of ways that a civilian s information could spread, such as fake
advertisements or social media, which gives unknown creatures the information at their disposal. In an
article from Futurity, it explains how some people enjoy seeing Someone they envy experiences
misfortune or pain, which give them the satisfaction of seeing them fall. Most of the time individuals
are stalked or are followed by predators. Some of these predators are Schadenfreude and do not care
what happens to the person they envy because they can only be one or be in the same level as the
jealous person. For instance, studies sought to better understand who is among these envied groups
and whether that envy and jealousy elicits a harmful response, which is an action to prevent anymore
harm to anyone else. A essay written in University of Innsbruck in Austria called Envy or Emulation:
A Christian Understanding of Economic Passions states how Envy has become an important topic of
recent intellectual debates. In this current time, envy in seen in places such as

Electronic Media And Sleep Research
Electronic Media and Sleep Over the years, electronic media has contributed different ways in the
modern society, especially young adults, who has been the largest group among media users. The use
of Electronic Media has recently raised a concern regarding to sleeping behaviors that are presented
among students around the world. Since the early 21st century, researchers have conducted a study
that shows the connection between electronic media and sleeping patterns with young adults (Journal
of Sleep Research, 2014, 389). As students increasingly continue their habits of using Electronic
Media as personal entertainment purpose, they are at a potential risk of developing insufficient amount
of sleep as well as encountering health problems. Even though Electronic Media has given students
access to their education and promote social network connection, Electronic Media use should be

New World Order in Conspiracy Theory
New World Order (conspiracy theory)

The reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States (1776). The Latin phrase novus ordo seclorum ,
appearing on the reverse side of the Great Seal since 1782 and on the back of the U.S one dollar bill
since 1935, means New Order of the Ages and only alludes to the beginning of an era where the
United States of America is an independent nation state, but is often improperly translated by

Thus, activists around the globe formed a world federalist movement bent on creating a real new
world order.[11] In the 1940s, British writer and futurist H. G. Wells would go further by
appropriating and redefining the term new world order as a synonym for the establishment of a
scientifically managed world state and socialist economy.[12]
During the Red Scare of 1947 1957, conspiracy theorists of the American secular and Christian right
increasingly embraced and mongered unfounded fears of Freemasons, Illuminati, and Jews being the
driving force behind an international communist conspiracy . The threat ofworld communism in the

Reasons To Break A Social Norms Of Society
Social norms are unwritten rules about how to behave. They provide us with an expected idea of how
to behave in a particular Social group or culture. They act as accepted standards of behavior of social
group. It is the hope of society that people adhere to the social norms of the given society they find
themselves in. For my social norms paper, I chose to break a social norm by using a fork to drink soup
and then using my fingers to eat a rice dish at a restaurant on a dinner date with a guy I was meeting
for the first time. I chose to break this norm for several reasons. Firstly, I wanted an experience to
write about for my psychology paper. Secondly, I loved the fact that I was going to be the only odd
one in the restaurant and possibly get stares and murmurs from other customers staff. Most people that
eat at this restaurant eat with cutlery so I knew I was bound to be a topic of discussion. Thirdly, I
wanted to see the reaction of my date, if he was going to leave, play along or just feel uncomfortable.
Lastly, I just missed eating with my fingers as I come from a place where some foods are eaten with
the fingers. It was a Sunday evening so the restaurant was packed with customers. Before I embarked
on my mischief, my date and I ordered our meal and I excused myself to go to the washroom to wash
my hands ready to consume my food. I had every type of feeling running through my head. I was
feeling anxious, scared, weird, and stupid for the most part of the date

best not to think more of practical advantages than of [one s] mental or moral well being . . . in the
case of the State or of anything else (Apology 36c). He scorns the materialism of Athens powerful
figures, and their obsession with power and status. These judgements would suggest that Socrates
ideal Prince would not only never do injury upon others, but would in fact be entirely unconcerned
with gaining political status. The true champion of justice, he insists, must necessarily confine himself
to private life and leave politics alone (Apology 32a). This attitude represents the antithesis of all of
Machiavelli s advice in The Prince, although, as already discussed, Machiavelli does not claim that a
Prince should be a champion of justice, another point on which Socrates would disagree. In addition to
land and power, Machiavelli s Prince, as previously mentioned, is also chiefly concerned with his own
security and wellbeing (Prince 57). In this ruthless world which Machiavelli envisions, a Prince must
protect himself and his state at all turns from power hungry nobles, a dissatisfied populace, and
foreign invaders. While this Prince is likely to think of security and wellbeing in terms of the security
and wellbeing of his state and his person, Socrates claims that the wellbeing of the person is above all
a matter of the soul, encouraging the citizens of Athens

Case Study Of Heinz
BRAND HEINZ Heinz
Introduction:
Till a few years back the fast food market in INDIA was not a very prominent industry mostly because
there were less of fast food joints and disposable incomes. But with the growth of both these elements
the fast food market in India received a boost. Fast food and ketchup are directly proportional to one
another. The sweet and tangy taste provided by ketchup adds to the entire experience of a delicious or
finger licking meal. Thus the rise in the demand for fast food has resulted in the rise in the demand for
ketchup in INDIA. According to a recent survey, it is estimated that Indians spend about Rs.4,449
crore a year in fast food centres.

Though the blind test it has been found that Heinz is in 2nd number followed by Maggi and Kissan.
Heinz gave tough competition to Cermica (1st position) but due to lack of tanginess and little sweeter
taste it occupied second place.
Verdict on Positioning:
After studying all the above aspects I found Positioning of Heinz Ketchup in India is CORRECT .
Earlier, their positioning of product was not right and they were not concentrating on their POP s and
POD as their value proposition was Redder Thicker and Tastier which is very common in today s
ketchup market.
Heinz Ketchup Brand is getting up in market after its new campaign Grown Not Made .
Heinz has used its retro style of packaging which makes their product easily identifiable on the
shelves of the supermarket.
Recent commercial Indian ad launched by Heinz was as per their POP s and POD.
Recommendations:
Ready meals are one of the fastest growing areas of the food market in developed, as well as
developing countries such as India, so there is a tremendous growth opportunity for ready meal
manufacturers. Hence, company should also introduce new varieties of ketchup to enhance its brand

Essay on the Burning of Bridget Cleary
Bridget Cleary or more popularly described as the last witch burned in Ireland , though not actually
accused of witchcraft, was murdered and burned by her husband in 1895, whose motive was his belief
that she had been abducted by fairies and in her place the fairies had left only a changeling; he claimed
to have killed the changeling and not his actual wife. Bridget was burned immolated which either
caused her death or was done post mortum which prompted extensive press coverage during a time
when Ireland s quest for self government was being hotly debated.
During this time it is clear that many changes were occurring in Ireland, a land that was once
dominated by tradition was now becoming a modernized country. Where then does ... Show more

However, to say that tradition was the sole cause of her murder is not quite accurate as there is a line
that divides tradition from superstition, that line being knowledge.
Unlike tradition, where there is a clear understanding of a specific belief and its lack of validity,
superstition contains a clear lack of knowledge altogether or perhaps even a dismissal of evidence
against an idea, belief or practice that is irrational; most often based on the supernatural. What
Michael Cleary did to his wife can be seen as a result of superstition brought on by tradition; the idea
that his wife went off with the fairies and that a changeling was in place of her would only be derived
from oral tradition of the community and his family. However, it is the lack of knowledge, being the
superstitions, in regards to these traditions that lends itself to acting upon them in an irrational manner.
At one point Bridget asks her husband as he is questioning her, if he thinks that she went away with
the fairies because his Mother did; indicating a history of superstitions regarding fairies. He then goes
on to commit the horrendous act, and though one wants to attribute the cause of murder to
superstitious acts based on the oral tradition of fairy legends, superstition just labels it, it does not
explain it. (Bourke, 153.)
The understanding of fairy folklore is necessary when looking at the motive of Michael Cleary. Fairy
legends run abundantly throughout Irish Oral tradition

The Avant Garde Die First
In the 19th century, under the suffocating weight of a centuries long tradition in academic art, artists
began to break free. Tired of meaningless imitation and decoration, the avant garde artists pushed for
drastic revolutions in aesthetic and social taste. This experimentation rapidly grew less and less
controlled, and new technique and new style, which shocked and enraged the critics and public,
stopped being experimental and started desiring the side effects of shock and disgust. There is an error

Their ideas may have been the first of a radical new tradition, but they weren t the most ostentatious.
Later movements like Dada, Surrealism, and art post World War II, would more clearly demonstrate
the extreme separation the term avant garde implies.
It is important to reflect on the detachment of art from its former religious manifestations, where the
painting was a moving piece of symbolic meaning (Barzun 32). According to Jacques Barzun, a
painting connected with the viewer because it reflected some manner of spiritual recognition; it was
the attachment to God or spiritual symbolism that satisfied the patron and provoked emotion, not the
piece of art itself. The Renaissance glorification of man, the scattering and weakening of the creeds of
Protestant Reformation, and the general unbelief caused by the progress of science caused art to
become an idea into itself (Barzun 33). These modern issues Barzun blames for the rise of art as a
religion, with the avant garde artists acting as seer, and prophet bearing revelation (33).
As Barzun stated, progress in science and technology became gradually more and more important as
both were seemingly helping humankind advance itself (Arnason 46). Artists, no

Reflection Paper On Wrestling
One of the biggest goals I have in life to win a state championship in my favorite sport. That sport is
wrestling. I have wrestled since I was young in the third grade. I was considered very overweight for
my age. I sat at about ninety pounds as a 9 year old. My parents wanted me to start being physically
active and to get in shape. I remember being in a buffalo wild wings and watching a wrestling match
on the television and how cool I thought it was. I told my paresnts that wrestling was the sport i
wanted to do. The coach was a short man from India and he had tons of experince from teaching
wrestling back in his home country. He showed me all of the basics and I felt very proud as i mastered
each technique. When the day of my first match came I was so nervous. My first match was called and
I went out and lost pretty bad. My next match was called and I lost again and because I had lost two I
was out. During the third grade I only won one match. When the fourth grade came around I didnt
want to do wrestling anymore because I thought I would just lose again. When I turned twelve and
started junior high i heard that the wrestling team was pretty good at that school so I gave it a shot.
Since the third and fourth grade I had gotten in much better shape and I did a decent job at wrestling
and all the technique I learned was coming back to me. Once seventh grade came I was already ready
for wrestling to start. The first duel of the season we had was amazing. I did great my first

How Successful Was Elizabethan Foreign Policy Between...
How successful was Elizabethan Foreign Policy between 1558 and 1588 From the amicable friendship
with Spain and traditional rivalry with France and Scotland at the beginning of her reign, Elizabeth
had transformed the state of foreign affairs so that, by 1588, England was friendly with Scotland,
allied with France and warring with Spain. Facing these three threats at different points in time and
having to keep an eye on the Spanish Netherlands a gateway to England for any invading nations
along with the varying opinions of her Privy Councillors, the aims of Elizabethan foreign policy
constantly varied, but one thing was clear: At all costs, Elizabeth wanted to avoid war with any major
power thus her policy was limited and defensive for the majority of the time period. But how
successful was Elizabethan foreign policy? Through the different threats and aims, the success of her

There was a struggle for power between the Catholics and Protestants, and it was only with Elizabeth
s intervention that the Lords of the Congregation managed to retain their power, but even this was a
close call. This can be seen as a failure for Elizabeth as she was wholly against rebellion against the
rightful monarch, thus her intervention against Mary s seat of power in Scotland went against
Elizabeth s own beliefs. Further failure can be seen in 1579 80 when Esme Stuart became a favourite
of James VI in the Scottish court. Likely an agent of the Guise, Esme manipulated James VI and
overthrew Morton in an attempt to revive the Auld Alliance between Scotland and France, planning an
invasion of England with the English Catholics. This shows how, in Scotland, Elizabethan foreign

Jainism And Religion Essay
The Verdas, a collection of ancient Indian religious scripts, formed the basis for Brahmanism. With
heavy emphasis on the caste system, the religion dominated
Indian culture for several hundred years but eventually became the platform from which Jainism,
Buddhism, and Hinduism sprang. Initially, the local Aryan and
Dravidian societies worshipped gods whose presence manifested itself in physical phenomena such as
lightning and fire. As a result, members of early Indian civilizations found spiritualism in external
events. The Upanishads however, recorded between 750 B.C.E. and 500 B.C.E., introduced
fundamental concepts that suggested humans, not gods, are ultimately responsible for what happens to

In order to compete with the influx of Jainism and Buddhism, Brahmanism was forced to evolve.
Hinduism, much more reflective of orthodox Brahmanism than the teachings of Mahavira or Buddha,
revolved around the moral law dharma. Perhaps the most unique feature, however, is the polytheistic
approach that promotes the worship of personal gods, which provided an appealing versatility.
Hinduism evolved with the
Bhagavad Gita, a manifesto for how adherence to dharma could be balanced with the pleasures of life,
contrary to the asceticism of competing religions. Additionally, dharma brought optimism to the
working class by offering the promise of serenity in the afterlife, though it ultimately subdued them
and perpetuated the caste system found in ancient
India. Hinduism remains the most dominant religion in the region.

Misconduct Shocks the Defense Industry
In 2003 misconduct of conflict of interest laws shocked the defense industry. Serious violations were
committed at The Boeing Company by former top Air Force procurement official Darleen Druyun

Peter Paul Rubens Massacre Of The Innocents
Religious imagery has been a staple in artistic culture throughout history. It has been used to
communicate ideals and concepts to communities while encouraging the worship of a holy being.
Often, it also represents certain important qualities of the artist responsible for the making. In terms of
Catholicism, biblical scenes have been painted, sculpted, and repeatedly represented artistically in
order to provide a strictly visual representation of what many believe is God s word. The content that
is displayed in these works is often graphic in order to convey the intensity and importance of what is

Silk Roads Or Steppe Roads In World History, By David...
David Christian proved his passion for digging deeper into history through use of writing the article
Silk Roads or Steppe Roads? The Silk Roads in World History, published in the eleventh edition of the
Journal of World History, in the spring of 2000 by the University of Hawaii Press. Christian points out
that trans ecological exchanges are not fully appreciated and recognized in conventional
historiography about the Silk Roads; he believes they should be since they play an important role in
the expansion of the roads in the North and were apart of the flourishing of the Silk Roads. In David s
article, he recognizes different interpretations of the Silk Roads throughout different regions and time
periods and relies on a plethora of sources to do. Christian recognizes that the Silk Roads are
ingrained into historiography of China, the Mediterranean world, inner and central Asia, and also play
a vital role as links between different regions of the Afro Eurasian landmass. As mentioned previously,
this article observes that historiography focuses on the trade between trans civilizational societies and
credits them as important to expansion and success of empires and trans civilizational regions. In later
centuries, the historiography describes the flux and flow of the Silk Roads flourishing. Through the
use of sources, Christian describes these successes to have been at peak from 100 CE to the first,
second and third centuries.
The Golden Era was claimed to have ended after the Mongol period, due to being out shadowed by
other trade routes and sea routes. However, the article acknowledged that trans Asian trade and travel
later resumed, but the Silk Roads would never return to their original flourishing state. Different
interpretations of the Silk Roads continued throughout Christian s article. Conventional historiography
in the classical era depicts that the birth of the Silk Roads dates from the opening of the state

Cancer Is The Largest Revenue Generator Of American...
Cancer is now the largest revenue generator in American Traditional medicine. (Garcia M.D.)
Alternative medicines are more effective than chemotherapy and radiation with far better side effects.
Not only has chemotherapy been proven non effective on many cancers, and it also comes with deadly
side effects. Chemotherapy has been found to be nearly as effective as spontaneous remission.
According to the Scientific American Journal, studies as early as 1985 have proven chemotherapy to
be only 3% effective at best. In the 1985 Scientific American Journal, John Cairns duly states All told,
adjuvant treatments now avert a few thousand (perhaps 2 or 3 percent) of the 400,000 deaths from
cancer that occur each year in the U.S. ... This figure might be conceivably pushed up to 5 percent; an
extra 1 percent, for example, could possibly come from the treatment of breast cancer with cytotoxic
agents... (pg. 59) Cytotoxic drugs prevent the replication of cells and thus used in the treatment of
cancers. If 1% could be gained by just treating breast cancer patients with this drug that puts into

Human Experiences In Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Human Experiences in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Most likely before the age of 14, teenagers experience a situation where they think they feel as though they are out of place. In the novel, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, by J.K. Rowling, J.K. Rowling writes about the struggles of a teenage boy by the name of Albus Potter. His father, Harry Potter, is very famous and receives plenty more attention than Albus likes. Albus is very different from Harry. He feels as though like his father fails to understand him. Albus knows very little about the sacrifices that were made during the time his father was his age and all the pain surrounding Harry s childhood. When Amos Diggory and his niece Delphi show up at his house begging for Harry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are very different, but also alike in many ways. Some may argue that Albus is more like Ginny than Harry. However, this hardly holds any truth. Ginny did not have a saving people thing (Rowling, J.K. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ) as Harry did. Many readers may testify that Albus going back to save Cedric Diggory definitely qualifies as a saving people thing. Ministries Of The Church From A Biblical Standpoint Ministries in the Church From a Biblical Standpoint Eston Racey THEO 202 001 March 10, 2017 The topic discussed in this paper is the doctrine of the ministries of the church. This doctrine informs of the different services and resources performed or distributed by the church. Whether being the church as a whole or on the local level of the community and the world. This topic, though it may seem relatively simple on the surface, is very important. There are many different interpretations and practices of how the church should or should not perform ministry. This is seen clearly in Mathew 28:19 20, as Jesus is addressing His followers instructing them to go out into the world and make disciples of Him. This command was not just in regard s to the original twelve disciples but a command for all believers to come. Ministry has no perfect formula or model that all churches or believers should follow. 1 Corinthians 12:4 6 in short says, that their is one true God who has given everyone different abilities, gifts, and purposes. These things allow each person to minister in different ways and spread His Word. So in essence not only is everyone called to minister and share the gospel, but also everyone will share biblical truth in the way God intend them to. Believers must allow God to work through them and take hold of the unique traits He has gifted to each individual, so that His Word may be spread. When I look off the balcony of our ship and see rolling waves of deep blue water, I imagine the strange and wonderful creatures of the ocean. The miles and miles straight down into the abyss can only be imagined, yet can never be understood or fathomed by the mind. While the ocean is incredible, so many other things are happening around you on the cruise ship. My family has made so many unimaginable memories on our superb vacations. While the thought of being in the middle of the ocean and going to foreign countries excited me, I was nervous at the same time. The summer of 2015 changed my life. My parents, my brother, and I had never been on a cruise before, but we had heard so many great things and were expecting just that. We arrived the night before the cruise and had previously decided to spend the night in New Orleans. We did not want to risk being late and missing our awaited trip. • 17. Japanese Literature Throughout History And History In Japanese literature throughout history, there tends to be an idea of nature that is not nature as it really is, but is a projection of the subjective self. This is portrayed through the concept of Mappō. Mappō in Japanese Buddhism, is the age of the degeneration of the Buddha s law, when only the teachings remained, the practices were no longer pursued, and enlightenment was a mere word. This is a concept that has substance, especially when combined with mujō, the idea of impermanence. Mujō became an idea because Buddha taught that because all things within our lives and our world are constantly changing, it s important to remember that nothing is permanent. Kamo no Chōmei s writing presents a variety of elements related to Mappō, which, through the concept of mujō, shows the impermanence of nature as well as humanity fading into the vastness of nothingness. Through the traditions of simplicity, isolation, and religion, specifically Buddhism and the Lotus Sutra, Hōjōki shows this disastrous fleeting through a calm, poetic, narrative voice. This paper will argue that themes of nature are connected to the idea of the subjective self, through impermanence, and studies how Chōmei s worldview affects his perspective on nature and the natural world. They provide us with an expected idea of how to behave in a particular Social group or culture. They act as accepted standards of behavior of social group. It is the hope of society that people adhere to the social norms of the given society they find themselves in. For my social norms paper, I chose to break a social norm by using a fork to drink soup and then using my fingers to eat a rice dish at a restaurant on a dinner date with a guy I was meeting for the first time. I chose to break this norm for several reasons. Firstly, I wanted an experience to write about for my psychology paper. Secondly, I loved the fact that I was going to be the only odd one in the restaurant and possibly get stares and murmurs from other customers staff. Most people that eat at this restaurant eat with cutlery so I knew I was bound to be a topic of discussion. Thirdly, I wanted to see the reaction of my date, if he was going to leave, play along or just feel uncomfortable. He scorns the materialism of Athens powerful figures, and their obsession with power and status. These judgements would suggest that Socrates ideal Prince would not only never do injury upon others, but would in fact be entirely unconcerned with gaining political status. The true champion of justice, he insists, must necessarily confine himself to private life and leave politics alone (Apology 32a). This attitude represents the antithesis of all of Machiavelli s advice in The Prince, although, as already discussed, Machiavelli does not claim that a Prince should be a champion of justice, another point on which Socrates would disagree. In addition to land and power, Machiavelli s Prince, as previously mentioned, is also chiefly concerned with his own security and wellbeing (Prince 57). In this ruthless world which Machiavelli envisions, a Prince must protect himself and his state at all turns from power hungry nobles, a dissatisfied populace, and foreign invaders. Bridget was burned immolated which either caused her death or was done post mortum which prompted extensive press coverage during a time when Ireland s quest for self government was being hotly debated. However, to say that tradition was the sole cause of her murder is not quite accurate as there is a line that divides tradition from superstition, that line being knowledge. Unlike tradition, where there is a clear understanding of a specific belief and its lack of validity, superstition contains a clear lack of knowledge altogether or perhaps even a dismissal of evidence against an idea, belief or practice that is irrational; most often based on the supernatural. What Michael Cleary did to his wife can be seen as a result of superstition brought on by tradition; the idea that his wife went off with the fairies and that a changeling was in place of her would only be derived from oral tradition of the community and his family. However, it is the lack of knowledge, being the superstitions, in regards to these traditions that lends itself to acting upon them in an irrational manner. At one point Bridget asks her husband as he is questioning her, if he thinks that she went away with the fairies because his Mother did; indicating a history of superstitions regarding fairies. He then goes on to commit the horrendous act, and though one wants to attribute the cause of murder to superstitious acts based on the oral tradition of fairy legends, superstition just labels it, it does not explain it. (Bourke, 153.) The understanding of fairy folklore is necessary when looking at the motive of Michael Cleary. Fairy legends run abundantly throughout Irish Oral tradition ... According to Jacques Barzun, a painting connected with the viewer because it reflected some manner of spiritual recognition; it was the attachment to God or spiritual symbolism that satisfied the patron and provoked emotion, not the piece of art itself. The Renaissance glorification of man, the scattering and weakening of the creeds of Protestant Reformation, and the general unbelief caused by the progress of science caused art to become an idea into itself (Barzun 33). Hinduism evolved with the Bhagavad Gita, a manifesto for how adherence to dharma could be balanced with the pleasures of life, contrary to the asceticism of competing religions. The Silk Roads in World History, published in the eleventh edition of the Journal of World History, in the spring of 2000 by the University of Hawaii Press. Christian points out that trans ecological exchanges are not fully appreciated and recognized in conventional historiography about the Silk Roads; he believes they should be since they play an important role in the expansion of the roads in the North and were apart of the flourishing of the Silk Roads. In David s article, he recognizes different interpretations of the Silk Roads throughout different regions and time periods and relies on a plethora of sources to do. Christian recognizes that the Silk Roads are ingrained into historiography of China, the Mediterranean world, inner and central Asia, and also play a vital role as links between different regions of the Afro Eurasian landmass. As mentioned previously, this article observes that historiography focuses on the trade between trans civilizational societies and credits them as important to expansion and success of empires and trans civilizational regions. In later centuries, the historiography describes the flux and flow of the Silk Roads flourishing. Through the use of sources, Christian describes these successes to have been at peak from 100 CE to the first, second and third centuries. The Golden Era was claimed to have ended after the Mongol period, due to being out shadowed by other trade routes and sea routes. However, the article acknowledged that trans Asian trade and travel later resumed, but the Silk Roads would never return to their original flourishing state. Different interpretations of the Silk Roads continued throughout Christian s article. Conventional historiography in the classical era depicts that the birth of the Silk Roads dates from the opening of the state sponsored trade between China and Central Asia at the end of the second century BCE. However, David argues that Eurasian steppeland had vigorous systems of trans Eurasian exchanges before then. Leaders in that time basically got handed pre established trade systems and routes. ...
