The Space Race Continuity And Change
Walking, that s the original mode of transportation. The only things that could be moved are the things
that can be carried and the furthest part of the world was the furthest part a human could walk to. Then
came sailboats and wheels and the world was drastically changed forever. Everything changed. No
one could walk on water so sailboats were the first things used to travel the rest of the world. There
was more land and more water than anyone man could walk to. Sailboats helped with that. When
someone arrives in those places how is he or she supposed to carry everything? That is when the
wheel became so important. People had carriages and wagons and animals to pull those things which
are on wheels. The entire world changed as transportation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the late 50s and early 60s the United States was falling behind in this race, but it wasn t over.
The next task was to be able to send groups of people into space together on one ship. This initiated
the Voskhod and Gemini programs, Voskhod in the Soviet Union and Gemini in the United States. In
the Soviets case there was not much changed from the Vostok craft except for the fact that they could
fit 2 or 3 people on the craft. The Soviet Union only did two manned flights with the Voskhod
program and left it; one flight in 64 and one in 65. The United States had completely changed from
their original Mercury program though. It had a new design and the new design retained the conical,
nickel alloy walls and fiberglass ablative heat shield of Mercury, it also made use of new features such
as translations control thrusters to alter orbit, hydrogen/oxygen fuel cells to generate electricity, a
radar system to allow rendezvous with other craft, and avionics that could withstand depressurization
(Universe Today). These missions whether one manned or not all helped paved the way to the final lap
in the race to space. The United States and the Soviet Union each wanted to be the first to put a man
on the moon; thus the start of the Soyuz and Apollo programs. For the UNITED States and NASA the
Apollo missions started in 1961, but the first flight was in 1967 after they concluded with all the
Gemini missions. The first ever Apollo flight ended in tragedy with an electrical fire starting and the
capsule was destroyed killing the three people on board of the spacecraft. Many unmanned trials went
about until finally the second manned trial by NASA in December 1968 with the Apollo 8 flight.
Unlike Apollo 1, Apollo 8 was a huge

Essay On The Han Dynasty
The Qin Dynasty ended with the death of Shihuangdi and was followed by the Han Dynasty after Lui
Bang s army conquered the Qin Dynasty.. The Han Dynasty is known as one of the greatest eras
recognized in China. Lui Bang founded the Han dynasty in 206 BCE; it was the second dynasty of
China. He started a bureaucracy founded on intellect (Gill). Confucianism was the main philosophy at
this time, confucianism deals primarily with moral conduct and ethical living and is often categorized
as an ethical system. It emphasizes the earthly, not the heavenly (What). Once paper was invented
literature became very popular. This prompted Sima Olan to write the Book of History. This book
contains the first record of Chinese history. Porcelain was also new at this time and became a very

Fifth Century BCE is commonly referred to as the Golden Age of Athens. Athens culture strongly
revolved around trade. The Athenians traded all throughout the Aegean and Mediterranean (Athens).
Athens has provided more narratives, plays, and other literature than any other Grecian State, such as
the Iliad by Homer. Because of the ample amount of writings Ancient Athens is typically studied from
the Athenian point of view (The Rise). Greek artists portrayed a sense of harmony through out their

entertainment took place within the walls of the coliseum. Gods and Goddesses like in Athens also

Rent To Work
Financial literacy, defined as the understanding about individual or family finances and the application
of the skills to make responsible financial decisions, is one of the progressive economic courses for
individuals and families facing a financial crisis (Delgadillo, 2014). The topics investigated in this
literature review include the importance of financial education for all clients, the effectiveness of
financial literacy, and different approaches to financial literacy classes. The relevance to social work
involves several principles from the NASW Code of Ethics, specifically service, dignity and worth of
the person, importance of human relationships, social justice, and competence (Code of Ethics, 2008).
Also, the NASW specifies that commitment to clients is the primary ethical responsibility for social
workers (Code of Ethics, 2008). Although the literature presents the ... Show more content on

Keystone Memory

My first memory is when I got to fly down to Atlanta, Georgia for the National 4 H Congress during

Immigrants In America
During the late 19th century a new wave of immigrants hit in America. These communities of
immigrants came from all over such as China, French Canadian, and Italy. They had hopes and dreams
of a better life and flooded in for the opportunities that lay ahead of them such as religious and
political freedom. Thousands of immigrants came daily with millions arriving in total. Immigrants
fulfilled low wage jobs in factories, mills, and working on the railroads. While each immigrant
community had different experiences, and went through different challenges they all had one thing in
common: adjusting to their new life in America and experiencing the hostility from the traditional
Americans who had already been there.
One of the first immigrant communities to come to the United States were the Chinese. The author,
Roger Daniels, stated that, Immigration of Chinese into the United States began at about the time of
the California gold rush in 1849; the hundreds and then thousands of Chinese men who flocked to San
Francisco were drawn by the same gold fever that drew even larger numbers of other migrants to
California (Daniels, pg. #3). The Chinese flocked to the west coast for the job opportunities that were
presented to them. The Chinese hoped that by coming to America they would become very wealthy. In
fact, many hoped to become rich and then return to their homeland. This was not the case, many
became poor and were working low wage dangerous jobs. The jobs included anything

ā€œTo Build a Fireā€ Essay
To Build a Fire is a short story written by Jack London. It is viewed as a masterpiece of naturalist
fiction. To Build a Fire features a miner who is traveling to the Yukon Territory with a dog as his
companion. The miner is the protagonist and the dog companion is called the foil. The dog plays off of
the traits of the protagonist. The central motif of To Build a Fire concerns the struggle of man versus
nature. (Short Story Criticism) The most argued point in the short story is the reason of the protagonist
death. Some critics believe that it was his lack of intuition and imagination that lead to his death,
while others say that he dies because of panic. (Short Story Criticism) The protagonist in To Build a

The miner attempts to start another fire in the open but his efforts are futile. (London 9) The miner
thinks about killing his dog companion for the warmth but is too weak. The man then panics and
begins running until he can run no longer. (London 11) The man dies shortly after many attempts to
run to the camp. These facts lead some critics to believe that the protagonist dies as a result of panic
and the failure of his rational faculties. (Short Story Criticism) The protagonist meets his demise
because of his lack in intuition and imagination. (Short Story Criticism) The miner heads out to the
miners camp after being warned to not travel at such cold temperatures. The miner displays his lack of
intuition many times throughout the story. The miner proves he lacks in instinct when he says fifty
below zero is just uncomfortable and cold. (London 1) The protagonist travels against the advice of
experienced prospects, thinking that he will make it successfully. (Short Story Criticism) He shows his
inexperience further when he thinks it is fifty below when it s actually seventy five below zero.
(London 2)The recurring motif of man versus nature supports the lack of intuition theory. The
secondary main character displays the instinct traits the man does not have. It shows how the wolf dog
senses the severity of the climate while the miner just views it as uncomfortable and cold. The miner
further proves his lack of

Dear Shakespearian Partisan Theatre Company Analysis
Dear Shakespearian Partisan Theatre Company, Tis the season of war, heroism, and honor for the
country of England and its King. This will come at a cost; the cost of thousands of innocent lives.
However, who s the one responsible for all the bloodshed of the thousands of citizens slaughtered in
another country? It would be an honor to carry out Shakespeare s initial ideas to its full capacity, but I
cannot fulfill this deed without the support from your company. With your money, cast, and audience;

diversity of the English by contrasting theirs with the Congolese societies. However, the spotlight is

Prohibition Of The Former Flint Brewery Building
Ralph sits in the Pere Marquette rail depot in Flint, fidgeting with the lose button on his overcoat, and
looking down at his shabby brown shoes. The morning sun is low and catches dust in its light as it
shines through the windows. His eyes dart to the door every time it opens. He is expecting a cop to
walk in at any moment. He is getting desperate and would look suspicious if it wasn t for his overall
gentle appearance. He gets up and checks the time tables for the fourth time and debates if he should
inquire why the train is late. He walks to the window and watches the congregation gathering outside
the Lakeview Methodist Episcopal Church, which ironically is housed in the former Flint Brewery
building and has been since 1915, when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ralph went in to buy them. The salesman said that they were one of a kind, sure to be the only pair in
Flint. Ralph paid cash for the shoes and as store policy directed, a sales recite including Ralphs name

Ralph had gotten home and put the shoes on. They were a size to large and without question the nicest
thing he had ever owned. Ralph needed to deliverer some gin to a house around noon and was excited
to wear the new shoes out. Though he had never done a delivery before, he had sold to this guy plenty

About a block from the house Ralph saw the two foot patrol cops step out of Alvord s Market. They

Essay on The Power of Perspective
The Power of Perspective
All I needed was a bow tie. Everything else was packed, and I was ready for the weekend, except that
I needed a new bow tie. I assumed that some store on Boston s posh Newbury St. would have one, and
sure enough I found a store that sold tuxedos and wedding dresses. Upon entering the store, I noticed
soothing classical music playing in the background as the few patrons meandered through the
thoughtfully arranged display room. The sole operator of the store was busy with a customer, so I
waited for some assistance. Being a scruffy college student, I apparently didn t invoke any sense of
urgency in the store clerk. After a few minutes, he asked me if I needed any assistance in a tone that ...

I always try to imagine a situation from different perspectives. When observing someone s actions, I
try to understand the overall situation until I can say to myself I see where they re coming from. In
order to do that you need to have some background information on that person. In most cases this
involves making some intuitive assumptions, but you must be careful, as wrong assumptions can make
a situation worse. With some background information and careful assumptions you can try to put
yourself in their shoes as the saying goes, and then judge people by their actions. I m not saying this
would be a functional design for a court of law, but this is how I deal with small social problems.
For the most part I believe that this is an effective method for dealing with small conflicts because
usually I can understand a person s motives, and that is a step towards finding a solution. With small
conflicts it s usually a matter of conflicting personalities. These problems tend to be harder to solve
than similar problems generated from conflicting interests, as people with conflicting personalities
will do things just in spite of the other person. Such actions tend to create a perpetual problem.
I like my ability to see the other side of a situation, but only for small, insignificant problems. When I
look at larger social issues, a sense of hopeless pessimism spreads through me.

Labor Union And Labor Unions Essay
Labor union history began when the National Labor Union (NLU) was founded in 1866. After the
creation of this union, several followed after. Many riots occurred during this time, the Haymarket
Riot was one of the main reasons that the American Federation of Labor (AFL) was created. The AFL
will be a major part in the labor movement in the future. Labor unions began due to the need to protect
the workers. These labor unions formed to fight for reasonable hours, better pay, and safer working
conditions. These stipulations that the labor unions pushed for did not come from greed. Many
laborers were dying from different jobs. People were required to work 12 or more hour days, 7 days a
week for such a small amount of pay. Due to the overworking of these laborers, it caused them to
make mistakes. Not only were companies over working these people, they were hiring inexperienced
people with little to no training. Thousands upon thousands of people died because of this. To prevent
this from occurring labor unions were created to ne the barrier between a company and the workers,
the unions are there to help negotiate any stipulations the workers may request. However, after the
early to mid 1900 s the attendance and membership of unions declined drastically. In the past 50 years
the membership in labor unions have decreased, and at a rapid pace. There are many reasons why the
membership has decreased, but the focus will be on four main reasons. The first reason being that in

The Pianist And The Pianist
Holocaust is one of the most dreadful and unforgettable time in human history. This event of a huge
genocide has become the topic of many films; and The Pianist is one of the films. The Pianist is a
historical drama directed by Roman Polanski. The movie is based on the true memories of Wladyslaw
Szpilman, a Jewish pianist who had survived from the Holocaust. The movie describes how
Wladyslaw Szpilman manages to escape from the Ghetto and survive through the massacre of Jews in
Poland by luck. The most surprising scene in the movie is when a German captain, Wilm Hosenfeld,

the whole incident. The way how Polanski chose to direct this movie is very interesting. Polanski
chose to film the movie in a subjective way, where the audience can only see the incidents through

person perspective, instead, we existed in Szpilman s mind. The audience can get an idea of how the

Prosthetic Hip Dislocation And Its Effects
Prosthetic Hip Dislocation
A prosthetic hip dislocation means that your artificial hip joint (prosthesis) has moved out of place.
This can happen because of a hard, direct hit or injury (trauma) to the hip, such as a fall. A prosthetic
hip joint may be more likely to dislocate than a normal hip joint because a prosthetic hip joint does not
have all the structures that normally hold the joint in place.
After the prosthetic hip is moved back into place, you will generally recover fully. Prosthetic hip
dislocation is a medical emergency that requires immediate treatment.
CAUSES
This condition is often caused by trauma to the hip. Trauma may be caused by:
Falls, especially falls from a height.
Motor vehicle accidents.
Contact sports.
Industrial accidents.

People over 60 years of age.
People with bone loss (osteoporosis).
People who lack vitamin D.
People who are overweight or obese.
People who lack hip strength and flexibility.
People with poor vision.
SYMPTOMS

Reflection Of Women s Aspects Of Privilege In Society
As an individual s life is constantly progressing throughout a variety of perspectives, the conflicts of
the person s life becomes greater and these issues can be very complex. In the terms of injustice and
hardships, it is quite difficult to address these issues and to cope with them. Privilege is a term that is
described as an unearned right that is given to an individual for the purpose of a specific power solely
on a basis of one s culture, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc. It is important to
acknowledge privilege as many people have entitlements in some kind of way and they can misuse it
and use it to their advantage in negative ways, which can be the cause oppression against another
individual. I am going to discuss the content of invitation and reflect aspects of my life which I have
greater power and privilege than others. The questions corresponding to this article is why are you
interested in exploring these issues related to privilege? and is your interest connected in any
particular hopes for your work, for your life, for the world in which we live. The first question is why
am I interested in exploring these issues related to privilege and I believe that society generally does
not give lessons on how to cope or speak about privilege, so it is important to make a contribution to
addressing these issues. In my experience as an Indian girl, gender discrimination is very prominent in

Canada, the second largest country on earth, embodies 20 natural regions or ecozones such as the
Northern Arctic Ecozone and the Prairie Ecozone that are distinct in their nature. Each of these

the diversity of geographical landforms and species. Aside from the geological location difference of
these subdivided land masses, the Northern Arctic Ecozone and the Prairie Ecozone are also markedly
differed by landforms, vegetation, and wildlife. Covering 1.5 million square kilometers, or about one

The major landform of the Prairie Ecozone is much flatter than Northern Arctic due to its rolling
plains. Some local areas can be hummocky and potholed, providing depressions for the establishment
of wetlands, ponds and small lakes. On the other hand, in terms of vegetation, Prairie Ecozone is
considerably lusher than Northern Arctic that the short grass prairies in the south merge into mixed
grass and the tall grass areas. As the moisture patterns improve northwards, grasslands expand.
Though, as almost 95 percent of the Prairie Ecozone have been covert into farmland, the natural
vegetation is generally dominated by spear grass, wheat grass, and blue grama grass. The northern
edge of this Ecozone is dotted with groves of trembling aspen and balsam poplar. Sagebrush is
abundant but deciduous and coniferous trees are largely absent. Moreover, in terms of wildlife, the
Prairie Ecozone is richer than Northern Arctic. Plain bison, which were once plentiful, are now

his daughters to be charitable within their community. The beautiful young ladies were taught not to

teach them otherwise through the feast. She brought the disciples of the Dean and the sister s together
in communion. With the help of General Loewenheilm s rant on his mental and spiritual journey as
well as his regrets along the journey the guests of the dinner were able to reflect on their journeys and
how they have not been living their lives to their full potential because they have been so blinded by
religion. Babette made the people of Berlevaag realize that life needs to be enjoyed as much as
possible. This short story is not only a lesson for the constituents of Berlevaag, but it is a lesson for the
readers as well. We the readers are taught to be more like Babette, be selfless, to know our own worth,
and appreciate what we have on earth while we still have the opportunity. Therefore to answer the
question posed in the title, the meaning to life is determined by several subfactors within religion and

We installed VMware Workstation (VM) on all four laptops and then installed Windows 7 on VM.
Subsequently, we installed DaemonFS [20] a tool that monitors in real time files on the hard disk. We

used to preserve the integrity. We should note that no regular browser was installed. At this point we
were ready to do the web browsing activities. Each portable browser was individually launched in

The Day One Fight Test Poem
Day One: Fight Test Everyone was watching. The camera lurched forward, sweeping over land
blanketed in dense forests. It paused to range over the scenery: over there, a river, weaving a sinuous
trail through the undergrowth; down here, a lake, bustling with life; up there, a temple, dwarfing its
surroundings. View tilting precariously, another swathe of the arena was exposed. Tufts of cloud clung
to mountains circled by trees. A cave yawned open like a gaping maw. In the distance, soaked in the
rays of the setting sun, the geometric forms of distant factories loomed. The camera careened, showing
a panoramic view of the whole area, dotted with the figures of tributes. Or at least, this would show on
the monitors anchored to the trees, the projector ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One, two, three... five... eight... Nine. Nine deaths. It was to be expected on the first day, when
violence erupted in the main arena. That meant 15 remained, including him. A sequence of dead
bodies materialised on the screen: some mauled beyond recognition, some familiar. The corpse of
Devin sprawled across the ground in an almost comic fashion, his expression reflecting his sudden
death. A gaping vacancy where his chest should ve been. Whimsical, bloody flourishes about him, like
the killer relished the murder. A man with a spear buried in his stomach bubbled up next, his eyes
filmed over, bleak and lifeless. Deus , said the text above him. Blyss hadn t met him before, (nor
would he get a chance) but he knew the name would forever be seared in his memory. As would
Cherry, the ruddy cheeked girl whose fragments were now strewn across the arena. Bryce too, who s
charred corpse gurned up at the camera. He d remember them all. He flopped backwards and sighed,
yet his parched throat only issued a harsh sliver of sound. I gotta sleep, or dehydration will get the
better of me. Blyss realised, and, his senses melting away, the gentle rush of the river beckoned him
into much needed albeit fitful sleep. * * *

The Discrimination Of Female Applicants
To behave and treat servicewomen with respect and entitlement and those who recruit to display no
discrimination to female applicants. We have to approach the recruitment steps since discrimination
can easily begin here. Secondly, we have to implement a no tolerance policy concerning rape and
discrimination in the United States Military and to hold all those accountable who don t follow the
new regulations. There should be no exceptions to these rules; an illustration to this declaration is
when kin intervention occurs. Those who have a political or financial platform tend to use their
positions to exclude their family members from undergoing certain circumstances. It is hard to escape
the suspicion that Bush got an easy ride through the guard.
At the time he did his years in uniform, his father was a prominent Texas congressman, a fact not lost
on his commanding officers, who seemed, in the latter years of his service, disinclined to demand
regular attendance. I d have to have been an idiot not to know about [Bush s parentage], says
Lieutenant Colonel Albert Lloyd Jr, a retired personnel officer whose signature is on documents
released by the White House this week apparently confirming Bush s service.
Bush is sworn into the National Guard and there is his father, Congressman Bush, standing beside
him. It was a good chance for unit publicity (Goldenberg).
Reporting rape is currently not anonymous, there has to be a secure, safe, unbiased and

Employee Act Case Study
In 1998, Congress passed the IRS Reconstructing and Reform Act after hearings held by Congress in
1996 and 1997. There were many changes to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Relating to
individuals, the act states that people who fail to provide their taxpayer identification numbers are not
allowed to take the earned income credit for the year in which the failure occurs. Individuals can
deduct interest expense paid on certain student loans. Also the exclusion, from income, of gain on the
sale of a principal residence is prorated for certain taxpayers. And the use of a continuous levy must be
specifically approved by the IRS before the levy is effective.

Congress can pass legislation that alters the agencies activities, abolish existing programs,
investigative agencies and compel bureaucrats to testify. As well as influence presidential
appointments of agency heads, write legislation to limit the bureaucracies discretion.
The judiciary can rule on whether bureaucrats ha9ve acted within the law, rule on constitutionality of
all rules and regulations, and issue injunction.
The most effective check or balance on the bureaucracy is the legislative branch s power of oversight
and budget. The legislature has the power to set the budget for any bureaucratic agency. It also has the
power to summon officials from the agencies to appear at Congressional hearings to explain their
actions.
The term iron triangle is a mutually advantageous relationship among an agency, a committee, and an
interest group. An example of this kind of relationship is of the NRA and how they can lobby to block
new gun control measures. This can become an iron triangle issue if politicians respond to the NRA
lobbyists and block an initiative such as universal background checks, even if the initiative is

My Nurse Monologue
I woke up that morning, the same as any other. Still in that blank old hospital room, the same stiff
hospital bed with the little red button to signal the nurse when I woke up or needed help. I pressed the
button and heard Lilly coming down the quiet hallway. The door creaked open slowly and Lilly
peaked her head in the room, Good Morning Noah. She s always so smiley and sunshiney, she s the
only nurse like that here. Ready to get dressed and get some of that delicious breakfast you love so
much? I sat up and smirked at her cause she knows how much I hate the breakfast here. Grabbing my
glasses off the small cheap bedside table I could see Lilly s smile more clear now. She came by the
bed with my clothes and left the room to get my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I swear, for a 73 year old man you can be such a teenager sometimes, she giggled as we approached
the area which was once closed off by a curtain but now open. Allie was an older woman, not as old as
me, no she looked young but you could tell she was sick. Her skin was pale with the lightest bit of
color to it, her hair cut short probably from the treatments. She lay in with a book in her hands, trying
her hardest to hold it up and even harder to turn a page every so often. She was beautiful. Lilly had left
me out by some of the other wheelchaired patients to go to her desk and fill out paperwork. I wasn t
her only problem around here so I understood why she had to go. I slowly began turning the wheels
attached to my chair over to where Allie s bed was. She put her book down slowly, Hello? Do I know
you? No, we haven t had the chance to meet until now. I m Noah, and I hear you re Allie? Her face
seemed to light up a bit, Yes, I m Allie I m one of the quote on quote newer patients here. I see, so
miss Allie how did a beautiful gal like yourself end up here? I began to see more color in her face with
every word I said to her. I was diagnosed last year with stage 2 cancer and have been fighting it at

The plan I would need in place would first to address her respiratory status and maintain a patent
airway. I would also want to have the patient demonstrate how to splint while deep breathing or
coughing. I would ask the Cna to help with position changes every 2 hours or more if needed for
comfort for the patient. I would need to do a full assessment at this point if the patient is more stable.
By having the patient deep breath will also help her return to consciousness, (Ahmed, Latif and Khan,
2013). I would want to keep her comfortable and in as little pain as possible. I would also want to try
to educate her as to when to push for pain medications from her PCA pump. If there were any family I
would want to try to get them involved with the education as well. The use of an incentive spirometer
should be included in the teaching too. I would keep monitoring the incision site and watching for
signs that the patient is in pain. While I was working on patient education with this patient, I would
ask the CAN to do vitals on the 2 postop patients every 15 minutes for the first hour, reporting
abnormal vital signs to myself or the other R.N. I would also ask the other R.N. if she/ he would do
the discharge for that patient, while I remain with this patient and make sure she is going to stay
stable.

My Experience Of School Skiing
It was February sixteenth, I was in sixth grade and I had gotten a flyer for the annual school ski trip.
More excited than ever I took it home and put it on the fridge so my mom and dad would see it when
they got home from work. Twenty minutes after they got home they hadn t said anything, so I casually
took it off the fridge and placed it on the couch between my parents in the back room. My mom
looked at me with a tired sigh and asked what is was. I happily told her that it was an application form
for a school field trip coming up! She signed the form and stated that we d be renting skis from Barrie
s Extreme Sports Store. I was surprised that this wasn t a bigger deal! I had never been skiing before
and it was clearly something that needed way more attention! It was very upsetting. But on the other
side of the couch sat my dad, who would give me anything I ever desired. I m spoiled by both my
parents but he definitely spoils me more than my mother does, not to mention his constant enthusiastic
support. Skiing?! How exciting! You ve never been right? he exclaimed Nope, never been! You ll like
it, it s exhilarating! he was clearly very excited for me. That s when my brother, Lance, walked in.
What are we talking about, Lance began, Are we going skiing! Olivia is, you aren t my mother
responded. My brother, who had lots of questions, was not understanding why his little sister got to go
and not him. But I told him the details and that it was school trip. He got

The Significance Of Church Going By Phillip Larkin
David Doan
Kevin Moore
05/21/2015
English 111
The Significance of Church Church Going by Phillip Larkin is a poem which hectors, but also
provides an interesting perspective on the significance and purpose of religion. Throughout the poem,
one can instantly recognize Larkin s agnostic beliefs because of the story s duel nature. Church Going
begins with an obviously atheist narrator ironically sneaking into an empty church. Due to the narrator
s ignorant and naĆÆve personality, one can infer that the character could be a curious young boy. While
looking through all of the fancy decorations, books, and sacred items, he begins to wonder what would
happen to churches once people stopped practicing their faith and most of all what the allure of
religion is. In the end, the boy concludes that religion will forever exist because there will always be
big questions such as why are we here or what is the meaning of life. Although Larkin is very
skeptical about religion in his poem, it seems he cannot deny the significance and impact the church
has had in history. The church s ability to satisfy humanity s want for a metaphysical entity, is the
reason why there are so many followers even today. Larkin first begins his poem by empathizing with
atheists and viewing the church through their eyes. When the boy sneaks into the church, one can tell
how indifferent and almost disgusted he is towards the building based on his descriptions. He points
out how it is just another church:

The Problem Of Global Warming
Analyse the problem of global warming and suggest possible solution
With the rising global temperatures, the global warming has become more and more popular. In fact, it
is a natural phenomenon, which has developed in recent decades due to human?s activities, such as
burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. These actions will produce large amounts of greenhouse gas,
which would cause the Earth s temperature go up so that the climate will change. More importantly,
the Global warming melt all the world s glaciers and permafrost so that the level of the sea will go up.
As a result, human and natural ecosystems will suffer from great harm. There are many reasons why
the global climate is changing. Among those, there are two main reasons, the surge of population and
serious environmental pollution. Unfortunately, those two reasons are caused by our human?s
activities. This essay will analyse the cause of this problem and list two solutions on global warming.
The first one is to promote clean energy and reduce the use of fossil fuels. The second one is to call for
people to eat meat.
The most important factor the climate change is the growing population. Proportional to the increase
in human population and resource consumption, and faster population growth and large population
size, the more emissions will impact on the climate. The relationship between population and climate
change is complex, not as simply as reducing the performance of the total population change or the

  • 2. The Space Race Continuity And Change Walking, that s the original mode of transportation. The only things that could be moved are the things that can be carried and the furthest part of the world was the furthest part a human could walk to. Then came sailboats and wheels and the world was drastically changed forever. Everything changed. No one could walk on water so sailboats were the first things used to travel the rest of the world. There was more land and more water than anyone man could walk to. Sailboats helped with that. When someone arrives in those places how is he or she supposed to carry everything? That is when the wheel became so important. People had carriages and wagons and animals to pull those things which are on wheels. The entire world changed as transportation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the late 50s and early 60s the United States was falling behind in this race, but it wasn t over. The next task was to be able to send groups of people into space together on one ship. This initiated the Voskhod and Gemini programs, Voskhod in the Soviet Union and Gemini in the United States. In the Soviets case there was not much changed from the Vostok craft except for the fact that they could fit 2 or 3 people on the craft. The Soviet Union only did two manned flights with the Voskhod program and left it; one flight in 64 and one in 65. The United States had completely changed from their original Mercury program though. It had a new design and the new design retained the conical, nickel alloy walls and fiberglass ablative heat shield of Mercury, it also made use of new features such as translations control thrusters to alter orbit, hydrogen/oxygen fuel cells to generate electricity, a radar system to allow rendezvous with other craft, and avionics that could withstand depressurization (Universe Today). These missions whether one manned or not all helped paved the way to the final lap in the race to space. The United States and the Soviet Union each wanted to be the first to put a man on the moon; thus the start of the Soyuz and Apollo programs. For the UNITED States and NASA the Apollo missions started in 1961, but the first flight was in 1967 after they concluded with all the Gemini missions. The first ever Apollo flight ended in tragedy with an electrical fire starting and the capsule was destroyed killing the three people on board of the spacecraft. Many unmanned trials went about until finally the second manned trial by NASA in December 1968 with the Apollo 8 flight. Unlike Apollo 1, Apollo 8 was a huge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Immigrants In America During the late 19th century a new wave of immigrants hit in America. These communities of immigrants came from all over such as China, French Canadian, and Italy. They had hopes and dreams of a better life and flooded in for the opportunities that lay ahead of them such as religious and political freedom. Thousands of immigrants came daily with millions arriving in total. Immigrants fulfilled low wage jobs in factories, mills, and working on the railroads. While each immigrant community had different experiences, and went through different challenges they all had one thing in common: adjusting to their new life in America and experiencing the hostility from the traditional Americans who had already been there. One of the first immigrant communities to come to the United States were the Chinese. The author, Roger Daniels, stated that, Immigration of Chinese into the United States began at about the time of the California gold rush in 1849; the hundreds and then thousands of Chinese men who flocked to San Francisco were drawn by the same gold fever that drew even larger numbers of other migrants to California (Daniels, pg. #3). The Chinese flocked to the west coast for the job opportunities that were presented to them. The Chinese hoped that by coming to America they would become very wealthy. In fact, many hoped to become rich and then return to their homeland. This was not the case, many became poor and were working low wage dangerous jobs. The jobs included anything ... • 8. ā€œTo Build a Fireā€ Essay To Build a Fire is a short story written by Jack London. It is viewed as a masterpiece of naturalist fiction. To Build a Fire features a miner who is traveling to the Yukon Territory with a dog as his companion. The miner is the protagonist and the dog companion is called the foil. The dog plays off of the traits of the protagonist. The central motif of To Build a Fire concerns the struggle of man versus nature. (Short Story Criticism) The most argued point in the short story is the reason of the protagonist death. Some critics believe that it was his lack of intuition and imagination that lead to his death, while others say that he dies because of panic. (London 9) The miner thinks about killing his dog companion for the warmth but is too weak. The man then panics and begins running until he can run no longer. These facts lead some critics to believe that the protagonist dies as a result of panic and the failure of his rational faculties. (Short Story Criticism) The protagonist meets his demise because of his lack in intuition and imagination. (Short Story Criticism) The miner heads out to the miners camp after being warned to not travel at such cold temperatures. The miner displays his lack of intuition many times throughout the story. The miner proves he lacks in instinct when he says fifty below zero is just uncomfortable and cold. (London 1) The protagonist travels against the advice of experienced prospects, thinking that he will make it successfully. (Short Story Criticism) He shows his inexperience further when he thinks it is fifty below when it s actually seventy five below zero. (London 2)The recurring motif of man versus nature supports the lack of intuition theory. The secondary main character displays the instinct traits the man does not have. It shows how the wolf dog senses the severity of the climate while the miner just views it as uncomfortable and cold. The miner further proves his lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This will come at a cost; the cost of thousands of innocent lives. However, who s the one responsible for all the bloodshed of the thousands of citizens slaughtered in another country? It would be an honor to carry out Shakespeare s initial ideas to its full capacity, but I cannot fulfill this deed without the support from your company. With your money, cast, and audience; there is no doubt that anyone will exit the building without an enlightening experience. This time period in in the heat of the moment between racial wars, under the supremacy of unruly dictators, and the citizens of some of these countries have no voice. Therefor we should begin our tour in the heart of Africa: the Congo, then spread to the other countries of Africa and expand to the rest of the world. He is getting desperate and would look suspicious if it wasn t for his overall gentle appearance. He gets up and checks the time tables for the fourth time and debates if he should inquire why the train is late. Ralph paid cash for the shoes and as store policy directed, a sales recite including Ralphs name and address was retained in the men s departments as a record of sale. He packaged up the gin and headed out just before noon to travel the few blocks to the customer s house wearing the new red shoes. About a block from the house Ralph saw the two foot patrol cops step out of Alvord s Market. They waited for him to pass then flowed behind him. Ralph was worried but talked himself down. He had packaged the gin to look like bread and the house was just around the corner, besides he didn t recognize them and they likely didn t recognize him. Upon entering the store, I noticed soothing classical music playing in the background as the few patrons meandered through the thoughtfully arranged display room. When observing someone s actions, I try to understand the overall situation until I can say to myself I see where they re coming from. In order to do that you need to have some background information on that person. In most cases this involves making some intuitive assumptions, but you must be careful, as wrong assumptions can make a situation worse. With some background information and careful assumptions you can try to put yourself in their shoes as the saying goes, and then judge people by their actions. I m not saying this would be a functional design for a court of law, but this is how I deal with small social problems. For the most part I believe that this is an effective method for dealing with small conflicts because usually I can understand a person s motives, and that is a step towards finding a solution. With small conflicts it s usually a matter of conflicting personalities. These problems tend to be harder to solve than similar problems generated from conflicting interests, as people with conflicting personalities will do things just in spite of the other person. Such actions tend to create a perpetual problem. I like my ability to see the other side of a situation, but only for small, insignificant problems. When I look at larger social issues, a sense of hopeless pessimism spreads through me. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many riots occurred during this time, the Haymarket Riot was one of the main reasons that the American Federation of Labor (AFL) was created. The AFL will be a major part in the labor movement in the future. Labor unions began due to the need to protect the workers. These labor unions formed to fight for reasonable hours, better pay, and safer working conditions. These stipulations that the labor unions pushed for did not come from greed. Many laborers were dying from different jobs. People were required to work 12 or more hour days, 7 days a week for such a small amount of pay. Due to the overworking of these laborers, it caused them to make mistakes. Not only were companies over working these people, they were hiring inexperienced people with little to no training. Thousands upon thousands of people died because of this. To prevent this from occurring labor unions were created to ne the barrier between a company and the workers, the unions are there to help negotiate any stipulations the workers may request. The Significance Of Church Going By Phillip Larkin David Doan Kevin Moore 05/21/2015 English 111 The Significance of Church Church Going by Phillip Larkin is a poem which hectors, but also provides an interesting perspective on the significance and purpose of religion. Throughout the poem, one can instantly recognize Larkin s agnostic beliefs because of the story s duel nature. Church Going begins with an obviously atheist narrator ironically sneaking into an empty church. Due to the narrator s ignorant and naĆÆve personality, one can infer that the character could be a curious young boy. While looking through all of the fancy decorations, books, and sacred items, he begins to wonder what would happen to churches once people stopped practicing their faith and most of all what the allure of religion is. In the end, the boy concludes that religion will forever exist because there will always be big questions such as why are we here or what is the meaning of life. Although Larkin is very skeptical about religion in his poem, it seems he cannot deny the significance and impact the church has had in history. The church s ability to satisfy humanity s want for a metaphysical entity, is the reason why there are so many followers even today. Larkin first begins his poem by empathizing with atheists and viewing the church through their eyes. When the boy sneaks into the church, one can tell how indifferent and almost disgusted he is towards the building based on his descriptions. He points out how it is just another church: ...
