Differences Between Traditional And Modern Society
A society s progressively evolution has based a process of collective conditions and consensus,
reversal parties which had obsolete ideologies. Besides, a society s changing in which individually
participates, then a society is prepared to innovate until a cooperative opinion is fulfilled. That a
process of society growth causes two different definitions: tradition and modernity. There are
numerous viewpoints and conversations between traditional and modern society. For example, in
traditional society, in the words of Thompson, the child labour was an intrinsic part of the agricultural
and industrial economy before 1780, and remained so until rescued by the school (Thompson, 1991, p.
121). However, within modern society, Conlin mentioned the argument of Karl Polanyi the economy
has a life of its own (Conlin, 2015). The questions arise, whether the tradition is more brutal to people
or community than modernity? Is modernity drifting apart from tradition as a heretic? Therefore, to
compare two societies this essay will provide the main view of modern society s traits and conducts
more conform the human beings, to compare two societies, and this essay will only elaborate an
opinion is more sympathetic to the modernity. This essay will first state a brief description of tradition
and modernity, to explain the distinction between two societies. Then will explore the attribute of
traditional society while it also references more scholarly explanation such as John K.

This starts through determining how life altering events have affected our current leisure behaviour.
The benefits we hope to gain from our leisure and our work become evident when we think about how
we would fill the time if they were suddenly taken away. Family traditions are a good example of a
way to find the routes of our feelings toward leisure (Hopp). Thinking about why we do not pursue
leisure activities we have always wanted to reveals the personal attitudes, relationships and external
factors that shape our leisure choices.
Understanding leisure in your community starts by uncovering all leisure opportunities in a particular
area. Looking closely at these leisure opportunities reveals an endless list of possible leisure spending
whether directly from a leisure provider or indirectly facilitated (Hopp). Thinking about how having a
disability, limited financial resources or being in a new place with a different language and climate
would limit leisure opportunities shows the importance of providing leisure opportunities for people
with such limitations.

Responsible Tourism
Retention of Visitor spending: The key to achieving economic sustainability for tourism in (i.e.
California and Giants Causeway) is maximising the economic retention of tourist spending in your
local economy. The sustainable tourism businesses need to develop strategies that are capable of
meeting the long term economic needs and aspirations of the local community. If the communities are
engaged by tourism organisations as stakeholders in tourism, and economic partners in the tourism
industry, this will actively support local tourism businesses. Tourism is a rapidly growing industry and
has far reaching economic and environmental impact across the destinations; hence, if tourism is an

Training and employment of local people tourism education: The travel and tourism originations
should employ local people wherever possible. Where local people lack of the necessary skills,
training programmes should be implemented. An example is Sandals in the Caribbean, who claim to
have compulsory training for 120 hours per year for line staff in their hotels.
Visitors and traffic management: Reducing the impacts on sensitive natural areas would enable the
local communities to protect and sustain for future generations. The Peak District National Park could
be shown as an example, as they have visitors from all around the world and it has enormous impact
on social life s as well as the landscape of the visiting places. By restricting, the visitor numbers would
essentially lead them to cover most of the areas and it will reduce the traffic. They can minimise the
risks by enforcing external visitors to visit at certain time, which will create an opportunity for
protection and other things.
Planning control: Restrictions on the quantity and type of building help prevent a destination
becoming over developed. In Majorca, tourism has become the most important source of revenue to
the economy. Parts of the island have become over developed due to mass tourism. Eventually action
had to be taken to try and reverse the decline in the islands image

Galileo Research Paper
Galileo was a coward
Galileo was an Italian natural philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician, who made
fundamental contributions to the sciences of motion, astronomy and strength of materials and
to the development of the scientific method. His discoveries with the telescope changed
astronomy and paved the way for the acceptance of the copernican Heliocentric system.
Galileo, using his own telescope he discovered that the moon has mountains and creators.
Galileo found a new position at the university of Padua, teaching geometry, mechanics, and
astronomy. Galileo was a coward because he didn t stick up for what he believed and was

published a series of newsletters called Starry messenger, which described his astonishing

He also found out the the earth s moon has an uneven surface. Galileo s description of the

Analysis Of Speak By Laurie Anderson
The book Speak by Laurie Anderson is a book about how Melinda Sordino overcomes the troubles in
her life, and how she learned to speak up for herself. The author uses a lot of archetypes and allusions
throughout the book to add a fuller description to the events Melinda had gone through, which will
help the readers to better understand what Anderson is trying to tell.
When Melinda started her first day of high school, she suffered from peer pressure with her best friend
who had just left her, and everyone had hated her because she ruined a party during summer break by
calling the police. Melinda knew that no one knew the truth, but she was afraid to speak out about it.
Laurie Anderson used the allusion of Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer ... Show more content on

Moreover, this drawing of the tree is representative of the mind growth of Melinda. For instance, the
drawing was poorly drawn at the beginning of the book, Melinda s pressure and her life were
weighing her down. As the drawing got better throughout the school year, Melinda s strength and
mindset also began to get better as well. If the tree meant to shelter , then Melinda sure developed a
very nice shelter for herself in the end. Laurie Anderson also used allusions while describing Melinda
s trauma. IT sees me. IT smiles and winks. Good thing my lips are stitched together or I d throw up.
(Anderson 96). The book Maya Angelou is written by a girl who was once raped. The experience is
similar between Melinda and Angelou. The audience may not fully understand what Melinda was
thinking during that time, but the book, Maya Angelou, fully describes the life of a raped girl which
gave us a fuller understanding of the situation that Melinda was dealing with. She also used the
archetype of darkness, when Melinda was raped, it was night time. Darkness represents Chaos,
emblem of bad judgment and destruction, for instance, Melinda was raped in the darkness. This word
should give the readers a clear foreshadowing of what will happen next. The author also used the
archetype of coldness throughout the story. For instance, at

1984 Mind Control Analysis
In our modern world we don t often think about the possibility that somebody could potentially gain
control of our minds. However even if we don t think about it, it doesn t make it any less of a fact. In
the book 1984 as well as in real life mind control proves to be a key technique in gaining power and
control over people.
In the book 1984 the government s main objective is to gain control of the population by shaping the
way they think. They don t want their people to obey their rules because of fear or a sense of duty,
rather they want the people to wholeheartedly believe in the government. Using mind control
techniques the ingsoc government transforms its people into beings who cannot think on their own,
but need guidance for every part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these very voluntary techniques such as hypnotism are quite different from the ones in 1984.
However many organizations such as the marines use mind control in a semi involuntary way. People
such as marines go into the program believing that they will just be taught how to protect their
country, but the disciplinary measures they go through often consist of mind control. They are
expected to lose their individuality, always act as they are told, and change their way of thinking.
These techniques can also be used in religious organizations to gain a fully committed following.
All of these unnerving real life examples raise questions of whether people actually have full control
over their own minds. However most of the examples provided in Captive Minds are quite different
than the methods in 1984 in the fact that they aren t brutally forced. In Canada we don t have to spend
our days worrying that someone will force us into joining a mind washing cult. The only thing we
have to do is avoid joining organizations or groups with blind faith by finding out what they are about

Understanding Of Cultural And Contextual Consideration Of...
Throughout the interactive orals, my understanding of cultural and contextual consideration of
Antigone by Sophocles has developed. You must receive further information about the playwright, the
role of women, and the symbols used in Antigone to have a full understanding of the play. Without the
knowledge provided from the interactive orals, the play would not have been understood as well as it
is now.
To understand the importance and meaning of Antigone, you must understand the playwright and his
purpose of writing the play. In his play, Sophocles illustrates the rival claims of the state and the
individual conscience. He does so by using the dramatic story of a young woman, Antigone, who
refuses to follow the law of her uncle, King Creon, on behalf of her brother s burial.
You must also understand the role of a woman during this time period to better understand this play.
Men were superior to women. Women were considered as the property of their husbands. This meant
women were expected to obey any and everything men said without questioning. This helps readers
understand why Antigone is going against her uncle s law to not bury her brother, which resulted in
such a punishment. Without this knowledge, the readers would not understand what caused all of the
conflict that resulted in the play.
To better understand Antigone, you must understand the symbols included in the play. Several very
significant symbols are represented by Antigone and Creon. These symbols are woman

The Value Of The Jaguar Essay
The jaguar is a highly known animal with notable affiliation in the Pre Columbian Mesoamerican
societies and belief systems. All major Mesoamerican cultures proudly presented a jaguar god. Jaguars
are known for their power and aggressive strength. They are great hunters and one of the big cats that
can tolerate water. Most information that is known about Mayan culture and Mesoamerican societies
comes from the countless and scrupulous findings on stone monuments, murals, documents, adorned
vases, and conventional sources, where we can survey that the Maya carried out religious exercises
with most of these objects. This is evident of the Mayan jaguar lidded vessel from the Fresno Art
Museum. Vessels are vases that were used not for just funerary purposes, but also for rituals, offerings,
and a plethora of other daily activities. Other important details about jaguar symbolism in
Mesoamerican cultures include the fact that the word for jaguar, bahlam, appears in many of the
names of Mayan kings than any other animals. This is not surprising since the jaguar is the mighty
emperor of crafty force. Andrea Stone and Marc Zender state in their book, Reading Maya Art: A
Hieroglyphic Guide to Ancient Maya Paintings and Sculptures, that, The jaguars ferocity made it an
ideal insignia of warriors who wore jaguar parts to wear it like a badge of honor, whether it was the
head, skin, tail, or paws. To spread out jaguar skin was an expression for war, and

Despite rumors that the defense team consisted of stronger evidence than their opponent, during the
mock trial Trial of the Tortoise, the prosecution team presented a cogent case of higher quality than
that of the defense, for their first impression in the trial had more emotional appeal, immediately
swaying the jury towards their case. For instance, during the introductory statement, the speaker used
a dark, mysterious tone, pausing occasionally to build tension as she described the murder and was
backed by a slideshow filled with corresponding images that went along with what she narrated. The
speaker was extremely powerful, for she described the horrible deed done by the defendant in such a
way that it greatly strengthened the prosecution s

Human Health Care System Is On The Brink Of Collapse
The Philippines has provided the world with skilled medical professionals for decades. But as more
and more workers abandon the Philippines for higher salaries abroad, public health experts say the
country s health care system is on the brink of collapse. Dr. Jaime Galvez Tan
This above quote is from a former Philippine health secretary commented about the brain drain crisis
regarding the health professionals, occurring right now in the Philippines. The phenomenon known as
the brain drain is the emigration of skilled, intelligent and highly skilled personnel from a country. The
Philippines have been exporting medical professionals since the early 1960 s and this has been an
issue ever since. Due to increase in migration of nurses and doctors, the Philippines medical
development has stalled for many years and one can even state that their medical quality has dropped
dramatically. (Philippine Medical Brain Drain) It is important to note that the government is
responsible for the brain drain of medical professionals in the Philippines and they have failed to
improve the living quality and payment of these medics. As a result of this, these doctors and nurses
chose to move to a more developed country for better living condition and better pay. Even though the
Philippines are gaining profit from brain drain of these medical professionals, the negatives of this
crisis covers up the positives. Furthermore, evidence has shown that the brain drain is more harmful

Remember The Titans Segregation
Remember The Titans is a great football movie, and an even better civil rights movie. The movie
shows how TC Williams handled desegregation and how the football team brought the community
together. When the white players and black players came together for the first time, they did not get
along. Coach Herman Boone took the team to a camp, and the players started to get along. When the
players went back to school, they experienced the racism all over again. Eventually, the team helped
the school and community get over the desegregation. The movie takes place in 1971, and TC
Williams High School was one of the first high schools in the area to desegregate. The type of
segregation that the school had was de facto, which means that blacks and whites could go to school
together. However, there were still segregated schools because the kids in a neighborhood went to
school together, and the neighborhoods were usually full of people of one race. Brown vs. Board of

The most important part of the trip was that the players became close to each other and the team was a

players were pushed, you can tell that they would be in very good shape. There was a big difference of
how the team was when they boarded the bus to go to the camp, and when they arrived home. I think
that going to the camp was one of the biggest reasons for the teams success. In conclusion, Remember
the Titans was a very powerful movie. It was very enjoyable to watch, and is personally one of my
favorite movies. Remember the Titans shows how a football team helps their community overcome
the integration of blacks into TC Williams High School. I would highly recommend this movie to

Oral communication is the process in which information or messages are exchanged among
individuals or groups using voice as the medium. It is one of the most common and frequently used
forms of communication because it can be used in many daily situations and activities. Oral
communication can be either formal or informal. Examples of informal oral communication include ...

It is also not a form of communication that can be used as a form of documentary evidence. In some
situations, even strong verbal skills can not substitute for putting things in writing. For example,
important information that needs to be documented using writing and some type of written record is
required in the business world.
Effective oral communication follows some basic principles in order to make sure that the message is
conveyed across properly. It is important to ensure that the words are pronounced clearly and are
delivered in the correct pace, pitch and tone. It is recommended to ensure the message contains clear,
brief and accurate information, but not complicated sentences and jargons. Information and idea in the
message should be organized in a sequential and attractive way so that the audience can understand
the message easily. It is also important to establish an eye contact and to modulate body language
based on the message. For example, a strict order can be conveyed better when communicated with a
formal and stern body language as opposed to a casual and friendly one.
Conflict Management
Conflict management is the practice of being able to identify and handle conflicts sensibly, fairly,
reasonably and efficiently. It is important that there are people who understand conflicts and know
how to resolve them because conflicts happen naturally in any business and workplace. Conflict

Religiosity, Spirituality In African American Women
The research article for this week discussion was Religiosity, Spirituality, and Cancer Fatalism Beliefs
on Delay in Breast Cancer Diagnosis in African American Women. The researchers used descriptive
statistics, logistic regression analysis, Pearson r correlations, Mann Whitney U analysis, and Chi
Square analysis to evaluate the data (Gullatte, Brawley, Kinney, Powe, Mooney, 2010). Furthermore,
the researchers used the Cronbach s alpha coefficient, with is an instrument to evaluate the internal
reliability within the study (Polit Beck, 2008). Within the study, Cronbach s alpha of the 15 item
subscale was 0.85, Religions Problem Solving Scale (RPSS) was 0.83, and Modified Powe Fatalism

The odds ratio is the probability something will occur over the probability that it wont (Plichta Kelvin,
2013). Odds ratio should fall in between the confidence interval, in the study s case it shows there is
no statistical significance in when comparing the odds ratio to the confidence intervals due to all odds
radio falling in between the confidence intervals. The Pearson test is where the researcher is able to
determine if there is an association between two variables of interval or ratio measurement (Plichta
Kelvin, 2013). When examining the value calculated by the Pearson test it is suggested that a value +/
0.10 is weak, value of 0.30 is moderate or typical, and +/ 0.50 is considered substantial (Plichta
Kelvin, 2013). Furthermore, we can suggest that if r equals 1 there is a negative relationship, or if r
equals 0 there is no relationships, and lastly if r equals +1 it indicates a positive relationship. In
reviewing the relationship between variables, we can conclude that is there is no relationship between
fatalism and religiosity due to r=0.11 and fatalism and spirituality due to r = 0.106. Furthermore, the p
value was set at 0.05 for each of these variables. The p value for fatalism and religiosity was 0.19 and
for fatalism and spiritualty was 0.23, subsequently since both these values are

Apathy According To The Dalai Lama
How does the Dalai Lama define apathy? Using this definition, discuss how apathy might manifest at
following energy centers: Root, Sacral, Solar, Heart and Throat. Be sure to provide supporting details
and examples.
According to the Dalai Lama, apathy is a form of selfishness that stems from concentrating solely
within our inner development. Apathy occurs when we lose connection to the problems to societal and
global problems. This includes being aware of these issue both also indifferent to them as they may
not affect us directly. The Dalai Lama suggests that we approach ethics with global responsibility,
which essentially indicates that we must be aware of and willing to appreciate about the environment
around us.

Individuals often operate out of fear regarding the environment around them. This fear may develop
from traumas around abandonment and physical neglect. Individuals with abandonment traumas are
likely not willing to feel safe in or trust the environment around them. They may feel like their
surroundings are dangerous and unpredictable.
Sacral: Guilt can feed apathetic disconnection with one s surroundings through defense mechanisms,
such as denial. Many are in denial about the issues plaguing the Earth today. They are more often than
not, suppressing guilt for their contributions to these global problems. People with imbalances in the
sacral chakra may experience lack of desire and passion to contribute positively to society, which
directly relates to apathy. In addition, these people were possibly neglected or experienced coldness
when growing up, so they project those expressions of disconnect out of habitual

Innate Essay
Innate or learned behavioural responses can be observed in a neural representation of the sensory
world. Naïve animals, which are without prior learning or experience, show an innate response to a
sensory stimulus suggesting that they are mediated by genetically determined neural circuits. Most
sensory stimuli, however, show an experience dependent response, allowing an organism to respond
appropriately in a variable and uncertain world. Thus, behav ioural relevance to sensory cues is mostly
acquired through learning. In Drosophila melanogaster, different forms of learning have been
observed in response to a number of sensory stimuli. The mushroom body (MB), in insects, is
responsible for memory formation and retrieval.

Most antennal lobe projection neurons (PNs) extend their dendrites to a single glo¬merulus while their
axons bifurcate to innervate the lateral horn and the MB of the brain. The lateral horn is thought to
mediate innate behaviours, whereas the MB translates olfactory sensory information into learned
behavioural responses. On the activation from an odorant, PN axons synapse onto the den¬drites of
the Kenyon cells (KCs) in the MB calyx. According to anatomical and physiological studies, each KC
is said to receive, on an average, 6.4 inputs from a random combination of glo¬meruli which indicates
that knowledge of a single input to the KC cannot provide information about all the additional inputs
and these connections differ in different flies.
The γ, α′/β′, and α/β lobes of the MB are formed from three classes of KCs that extend their parallel
fibers to these lobes and form synapses with a relatively small number of MB output neurons
(MBONs). The MBONs extend their dendrites into the MB lobes, while their axons are projected to
the neuropils which lie outside the MB. Modulatory input neurons which include the dopaminergic
neurons (DANs) and octo¬paminergic neurons, also innervate the MB lobes. The MBONs and DANs
extend their processes to locations such that they define spatially restricted subdomains in each lobe.
DANs are modulatory neurons of the MB that are most prevalent.

Access Of Contraception And Abortion Within The Latina...
Access to contraceptives and abortion within the Latina community in Los Angeles, California has
been influenced culturally, socially, and economically. Cultural beliefs, economic disparities, social
environment, and language barriers have all prevented Latina s access to proper pregnancy
termination services, which is causing in the detrition of Latina s sexual and reproductive care.
Ultimately in order to promote better reproductive/sexual health and provide better access to
contraceptives and abortion within the Latina community in Los Angeles, policy makers should
promote safe sex practices within families, communities, and schools and also should educate Latinas
of all options they have. In addition to education, sexual and reproductive health services such as
contraceptives and abortion should be able to be accessible to Latinas, in order to reduce the amount
of Latinas going through traumatic experiences that are indeed preventative.

have been overlooked and ignored especially for Latina women in Los Angeles, California. Hispanic
women in the United States accounted for 25% of abortion. (Jones, Finer, Singh, 2010)

reproductive and sexual health care. According to investigators at Washington University they report

Susan Glaspell s Play, Trifles
What are trifles? In Susan Glaspell s play, Trifles, we look at a murder case that happens in an isolated
farmhouse. Mr. Wright has been murdered while he was asleep. Someone has a strung a rope around
his neck. That someone is Mrs. Wright. Trifles illustrates that men have substantially more power than
women. They first start by going in to the kitchen. Everyone observes the kitchen to see that it is a
mess. The men leaves the room. The ladies wonder about the kitchen. Mrs. Wright requested that the
ladies bring her an apron to her. After finding the apron they both wonder around the kitchen to find
that the table was half cleaned. Mrs. Hale [Who is standing by the table.] Well, I don t see any signs of
anger around here. [She puts her hand on the dish towel which lies on the table, stands looking down
at table, one half of which is clean, the other half messy.] It s wiped to here. (line 68) Mrs. Hale says
that there is no sign of anger but that clearly is the case. A normal person won t just clean half the table
and leave the other half of uncleaned. There had a to be a reason for this. Even though Mrs. Hale
doesn t realize it, she was on to something. Mrs. Wright was mad at Mr. Wright so she didn t clean his
side of the table. The ladies find that Mrs. Wright had a quilt. Mrs. Hale It s log cabin pattern. Pretty,
isn t it? I wonder if she was goin to quilt it or just knot it? (line 72) Mrs. Wright could have quilted it
or knotted it. She ended up knotting it. Ms.

The Myth Of Atalant The Hero s Journey By Joseph Campbell
When you want to understand ancient culture you don t only need to understand what they did, their
activities, or what they ate, you need to understand the myths and stories from those ancient cultures.
Joseph Campbell wrote that even if most myths are different and have different heroes, they all follow
the same path of The Hero s Journey. In the myth of Atalanta, the Heroine from the Myth of Atalanta,
Atalanta, does indeed follow all the three stages of The Hero s Journey by Joseph Campbell:
Departure, Decisive Victory, and The Return.
Atalanta begins the Hero s Journey with Departure. Departure means that a hero ventures forth to the
unknown, which is known as the supernatural wonder and leaves common day . (Doc A) When
Atalanta was born, her father was utterly disappointed and left her on a wild mountainside to die from
coldness and hunger... But then, a She Bear summoned by the goddess Artemis. (Doc B) When

Essay on The Principle of Separate Corporate Personality
The Principle of Separate Corporate Personality
The principle of separate corporate personality has been firmly established in the common law since
the decision in the case of Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd[1], whereby a corporation has a separate legal
personality, rights and obligations totally distinct from those of its shareholders. Legislation and courts
nevertheless sometimes pierce the corporate veil so as to hold the shareholders personally liable for
the liabilities of the corporation. Courts may also lift the corporate veil , in the conflict of laws in order
to determine who actually controls the corporation, and thus to ascertain the corporation s true
contacts, and closest and most real ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The veil of incorporation can be described as being the separation between a company and its
members. Due to the separate legal status of a company from its members this is usually very strictly
maintained. However, there are certain circumstances when the courts will deny the people who run
the company the advantage of hiding behind the corporate veil. In these instances the veil of
incorporation is said to be pierced or lifted , i.e. the barrier between a company and its members is
removed so there is no legal separation between them. There instances are however, difficult to predict
as the reasons depend on the judges interpretation of fairness or policy or of how a particular statute
should be interpreted.
In the leading case of Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd, Salomon incorporated his boot and shoe repair
business, transferring it to a company. He took all the shares of the company except six, which were
held by his wife, daughter and four sons. Part of the payment for the transfer of the business was made
in the form of debentures (a secured loan) issued by the company to Salomon. Salomon transferred the
debentures to Broderip in exchange for a loan. Salomon defaulted on payment of interest on the loan
and Broderip sought to enforce the security against the company. Unsecured creditors tried to put

Equality In The Giver And Harrison Bergeron
Equality seems to be very good to have and it seems like everyone should have it, but is it really that
good? Surely everyone should have it, but how much equality should be? The Giver and Harrison
Bergeron both show examples of utopia and equality but both don t work out. Our world wouldn t be a
better place if everyone are lifted up onto the same level, because although equality is very important
and good, complete equality will be a bad thing, and complete equality is something that would never
happen in our world.
Equality is quite important for the majority of us, it is also good for society and the world. Can you
imagine if you are living in a place without equality, what you are going to face? Many people will be
living in instability and always feeling insecure. They might spend all their energy for basic survival
instead of creating what they love or enjoying their life. life would be very difficult for them if
inequalities are happening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though everyone would be lifted up onto the same level can it really happen? In all stories we
read about utopia they always have someone on the top and in someway controlling the other people,
the HG Men in Harrison Bergeron and The Elders Committee in The Giver are these people equal
with others? No, they are in a higher level where they known more than others. If we take this
inequality alway then the world will break down. For sure the world will always have new ideas
coming out, but if there are new ideas, new inventions, who is the one who thinks about it? That
person, is he equal to others? He would be more intelligent than others and so inequal. There is one
thing that everyone has to do in their life, work. So this world must have many different jobs, and
different jobs also have different levels of intelligence required. Then are they really treated the same

Critical Appreciation Of Waiting For Godot
On Thursday the 12, I attended the performance of the play Waiting for Godot at the Fannin
Performance Hall. This play was centered around two friends Vladimir and Estragon who are in the
conquest of meeting someone named Godot; throughout their adventure, you meet various characters
that influence the story and it also it makes the two main characters and their views on life pop out as
well as their actions and words. At the beginning, both Vladimir and Estragon were confused on
where they were and who exactly they were going to meet they are usually played with Irish accents
the play has a political undertone meaning that everything that is said and the way that is said has
often a double meaning. In the play you find a variety of archetypes and the way that they fit in the
script is very impressive because these archetypes have direct contact with each other, and although
they are all on the same platform meaning that you can see that Pozzo is better off than the duo and he
is obviously in a better socioeconomic position than they are but he doesn t treat them as animals
although he does treat them as inferior he doesn t treat them like he treats lucky. This is an important
because on the political and social side of the play it is the very way that rich treat the poor or the way
that a cast system comes into confrontation you see how much Pozzo has in comparison to others and
you wonder why he couldn t offer them food you can ask yourself a lot of these kinds of

Henry Ford and the Model T Ford
Cars are a major part of everyday life. People today cannot imagine walking from Northeast
Philadelphia to South Philadelphia, let alone traveling from Philadelphia to Florida. The vehicle that
started the mobile craze in America was the Model T ford by Henry Ford. Hitting it off with the entire
nation, The Model T Ford was a smashing success.
People would say that when the farm was under Henry s control. They would not see any tools. Henry
ran his farm the way of the future . Henry ran a very efficient farm however this was not what he
wanted to do with life. As we already know Henry wanted to create the first car.
Ford was raised on a small farm ran by his father outside of Detroit (Mitchell,1). As a child Henry was
very interested in machinery. He always wanted a simpler way to do everything. His Father would go
to town and ask the children what they wanted. Henry s brother and sister would ask for candy but
henry always asked for clock wheels.
Henry Ford was a very intelligent man throughout his life. Henry was only eleven when he began
experimenting in his workshop (Barbara Mitchell,7). Henry grew up on the Ford farm just outside of
Detroit (Barbara Mitchell,12). When he was sixteen he left the farm and went to live and work in
Detroit (Mitchell Barbara,12). Henry wanted to learn more about technology so he can build the first
motor vehicle. At four o clock one morning in the spring of 1896, Henry, Clara (Henrys wife) and a
friend named Jim Bishop gathered around

Sarah Baartman And Contemporary Society
Sarah Baartman and Contemporary Society Sarah Saartje Baartman stands as an historic symbol of the
racial injustices and sexual exploitation of African American women. Baartman is a female from
South Africa whose body shape became a fascination in western society. Her ample hips and large
buttocks were not idealized, but seen as savage, deviant, and apelike. In Europe, during the 19th
century, she became an object that was exhibited in freak shows under the name of Hottentot Venus.
Hottentot was the face of the inhumane performances that abrogated her basic human rights. Not only
was Baartman used for entertainment purposes, but she also became a subject for scientific studies.

Raw Documentary Analysis
Documentaries. A piece of multimedia produced to enhance viewers knowledge about a particular
subject or event. They purport to portray reality; strive to showcase an unbiased viewpoint; endeavour
to tell a truthful story. However, this goal is rarely achieved. Directors create documentaries in such a
way they can never portray the entire truth. Filmmakers manipulate numerous techniques such as
interviews, footage, and editing to construct their version of the truth. They depict reality in their
perspective about the topic they wish to exploit.
A remarkably influential tool filmmakers utilise to portray a version of reality is their assortment of
interviewees. These careful selections can severely influence the documentaries depiction of true to

It is foolish to believe a documentary maker merely documents events as they unfold and incorporates
everything in the final product. If this were true, documentaries would be several hours long, repeating
the same point indefinitely and they would not be as captivating. Throughout her film, Cowperthwaite
purposely applies footage of Orca s in the wild; their natural habitat; demonstrating how they should
truly live. Cowperthwaite proceeds to incorporate additional footage of Orca s in captivity,
highlighting the drastic and monstrous change in lifestyle to the viewers. Cowperthwaite also includes
in her creation, footage of employees at shows and during training. These videos show the trainers
carefully working through stunts for shows with the utmost care for safety, discounting SeaWorld s
numerous claims of workers not taking correct precautions before attempting a command. The
inclusion of this footage positions the audience to develop a further biased opinion of the unfortunate
events that took place, based on the truth the director includes. Therefore despite not being a feature
movie, a documentary maker makes deliberate decisions regarding what footage is used in their film,
eliminating an element of

A topic of great controversy is that of religion and the freedoms that are and are not associated with it.
The first amendment of the Constitution states that Congress shall make no law of respecting an
establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The State of Indiana has a Senate
Bill that is titled the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which contains a law that consents
individuals and companies to assert that their exercise of religion has been, or is likely to be,
substantially burdened as a defense in legal proceedings (Cohn). As this is obviously a commonly
debated issue, there are many points for and against the policy. Governor Mike Pence singed the

The issue of legalizing same sex marriage is one thing, but denying service to someone because of
their sexual orientation is a completely different topic. I think that denying a person a marital
ceremony could be because of religious beliefs. However, a person s sexual orientation does not affect
any other person, nor does it affect the way they should be served or treated in a public setting. The
United States is a free country so people should be able to express themselves however they want to.
If an employee is given the ability to deny service to a person because of something this small, people
will eventually be able to deny service to people for all kinds of pointless reasons. We should be
uniting together as a state and giving fair treatment to all citizens, instead of discriminating and only
offering certain services to people who we see worthy of receiving them. I believe that the government

Notes On Data Mining And Association Rule Mining Essay
CHAPTER 2
2. Background and Literature Review
The purpose of this chapter is to show an in depth review of the topics, areas and works related to the
research presented here. we conduct a brief but comprehensive in depth review of data mining and
association rule mining approaches and techniques, followed by a focus at interestingness quality, and
redundancy issues related to association rule mining. This review sets the basic work for our research
and the proposals made here.
2.1 Data mining
Data Mining technique is the result of a long process of studies and research in the area of databases
and product development. This evolution began when business data and companies was stored for the
first time on computer device, with continuous improvements in access to data and more newly,
produced technologies that allow users to navigate during their data in real time. Data mining is a
approach that help to mine important data from a large database. It is the technique of classification
during huge amounts of data and chosen out relevant information during the use of certain advanced
algorithms. Like more data is collected, with the amount of data doubling every one years, data
mining is becoming an more and more important tool to convert this data into information. Data
mining takes this evolutionary process behind retrospective data access and navigation to prospective
and proactive information delivery. Data mining is very useful and ready in applications in the

Comparing Plato And Shakespeare s Rage Against The Machine

fantastic quotes about how music makes the world turn. If music be the food of love, play on; Give me

Plato Quotes. ) You see music ties together many different types of people, poets, philosophers, and
many different cultures. Music has historical lyrics, political meanings, and emotional support for the
people who ask for it or need it. The ancient hawaiians used musicians as historians and their history
was in their chants. People of all cultures in all places still do this in their music. As an example The
song Renegades Of Funk is a song by Rage Against the Machine which surprisingly talks about
historical and scientific things. The song sounds like a song that is just trying to get people up and to

That a process of society growth causes two different definitions: tradition and modernity. There are numerous viewpoints and conversations between traditional and modern society. For example, in traditional society, in the words of Thompson, the child labour was an intrinsic part of the agricultural and industrial economy before 1780, and remained so until rescued by the school (Thompson, 1991, p. 121). However, within modern society, Conlin mentioned the argument of Karl Polanyi the economy has a life of its own (Conlin, 2015). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This starts through determining how life altering events have affected our current leisure behaviour. The benefits we hope to gain from our leisure and our work become evident when we think about how we would fill the time if they were suddenly taken away. Family traditions are a good example of a way to find the routes of our feelings toward leisure (Hopp). Thinking about why we do not pursue leisure activities we have always wanted to reveals the personal attitudes, relationships and external factors that shape our leisure choices. Understanding leisure in your community starts by uncovering all leisure opportunities in a particular area. Looking closely at these leisure opportunities reveals an endless list of possible leisure spending whether directly from a leisure provider or indirectly facilitated (Hopp). Thinking about how having a disability, limited financial resources or being in a new place with a different language and climate would limit leisure opportunities shows the importance of providing leisure opportunities for people with such limitations. Part 1: Understanding/Recognizing how Free Time is spent This portion of the report is largely based on data I collected in a time diary (see appended materials). An example is Sandals in the Caribbean, who claim to have compulsory training for 120 hours per year for line staff in their hotels. Visitors and traffic management: Reducing the impacts on sensitive natural areas would enable the local communities to protect and sustain for future generations. The Peak District National Park could be shown as an example, as they have visitors from all around the world and it has enormous impact on social life s as well as the landscape of the visiting places. By restricting, the visitor numbers would essentially lead them to cover most of the areas and it will reduce the traffic. They can minimise the risks by enforcing external visitors to visit at certain time, which will create an opportunity for protection and other things. Planning control: Restrictions on the quantity and type of building help prevent a destination becoming over developed. In Majorca, tourism has become the most important source of revenue to the economy. Parts of the island have become over developed due to mass tourism. They are expected to lose their individuality, always act as they are told, and change their way of thinking. These techniques can also be used in religious organizations to gain a fully committed following. Throughout the interactive orals, my understanding of cultural and contextual consideration of Antigone by Sophocles has developed. You must receive further information about the playwright, the role of women, and the symbols used in Antigone to have a full understanding of the play. Without the knowledge provided from the interactive orals, the play would not have been understood as well as it is now. To understand the importance and meaning of Antigone, you must understand the playwright and his purpose of writing the play. In his play, Sophocles illustrates the rival claims of the state and the individual conscience. He does so by using the dramatic story of a young woman, Antigone, who refuses to follow the law of her uncle, King Creon, on behalf of her brother s burial. You must also understand the role of a woman during this time period to better understand this play. Men were superior to women. Women were considered as the property of their husbands. This meant women were expected to obey any and everything men said without questioning. This helps readers understand why Antigone is going against her uncle s law to not bury her brother, which resulted in such a punishment. Without this knowledge, the readers would not understand what caused all of the conflict that resulted in the play. To better understand Antigone, you must understand the symbols included in the play. Several very significant symbols are represented by Antigone and Creon. These symbols are woman ... All major Mesoamerican cultures proudly presented a jaguar god. Jaguars are known for their power and aggressive strength. They are great hunters and one of the big cats that can tolerate water. Most information that is known about Mayan culture and Mesoamerican societies comes from the countless and scrupulous findings on stone monuments, murals, documents, adorned vases, and conventional sources, where we can survey that the Maya carried out religious exercises with most of these objects. This is evident of the Mayan jaguar lidded vessel from the Fresno Art Museum. Vessels are vases that were used not for just funerary purposes, but also for rituals, offerings, and a plethora of other daily activities. Other important details about jaguar symbolism in Mesoamerican cultures include the fact that the word for jaguar, bahlam, appears in many of the names of Mayan kings than any other animals. This is not surprising since the jaguar is the mighty emperor of crafty force. Andrea Stone and Marc Zender state in their book, Reading Maya Art: A Hieroglyphic Guide to Ancient Maya Paintings and Sculptures, that, The jaguars ferocity made it an ideal insignia of warriors who wore jaguar parts to wear it like a badge of honor, whether it was the head, skin, tail, or paws. The phenomenon known as the brain drain is the emigration of skilled, intelligent and highly skilled personnel from a country. The Philippines have been exporting medical professionals since the early 1960 s and this has been an issue ever since. Due to increase in migration of nurses and doctors, the Philippines medical development has stalled for many years and one can even state that their medical quality has dropped dramatically. (Philippine Medical Brain Drain) It is important to note that the government is responsible for the brain drain of medical professionals in the Philippines and they have failed to improve the living quality and payment of these medics. As a result of this, these doctors and nurses chose to move to a more developed country for better living condition and better pay. The movie shows how TC Williams handled desegregation and how the football team brought the community together. When the white players and black players came together for the first time, they did not get along. Coach Herman Boone took the team to a camp, and the players started to get along. When the players went back to school, they experienced the racism all over again. Eventually, the team helped the school and community get over the desegregation. The movie takes place in 1971, and TC Williams High School was one of the first high schools in the area to desegregate. The type of segregation that the school had was de facto, which means that blacks and whites could go to school together. Most antennal lobe projection neurons (PNs) extend their dendrites to a single glo¬merulus while their axons bifurcate to innervate the lateral horn and the MB of the brain. The lateral horn is thought to mediate innate behaviours, whereas the MB translates olfactory sensory information into learned behavioural responses. On the activation from an odorant, PN axons synapse onto the den¬drites of the Kenyon cells (KCs) in the MB calyx. According to anatomical and physiological studies, each KC is said to receive, on an average, 6.4 inputs from a random combination of glo¬meruli which indicates that knowledge of a single input to the KC cannot provide information about all the additional inputs and these connections differ in different flies. The γ, α′/β′, and α/β lobes of the MB are formed from three classes of KCs that extend their parallel fibers to these lobes and form synapses with a relatively small number of MB output neurons (MBONs). The MBONs extend their dendrites into the MB lobes, while their axons are projected to the neuropils which lie outside the MB. Modulatory input neurons which include the dopaminergic neurons (DANs) and octo¬paminergic neurons, also innervate the MB lobes. • 32. Equality In The Giver And Harrison Bergeron Equality seems to be very good to have and it seems like everyone should have it, but is it really that good? Surely everyone should have it, but how much equality should be? The Giver and Harrison Bergeron both show examples of utopia and equality but both don t work out. Our world wouldn t be a better place if everyone are lifted up onto the same level, because although equality is very important and good, complete equality will be a bad thing, and complete equality is something that would never happen in our world. Equality is quite important for the majority of us, it is also good for society and the world. Can you imagine if you are living in a place without equality, what you are going to face? Many people will be living in instability and always feeling insecure. They might spend all their energy for basic survival instead of creating what they love or enjoying their life. life would be very difficult for them if inequalities are happening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though everyone would be lifted up onto the same level can it really happen? In all stories we read about utopia they always have someone on the top and in someway controlling the other people, the HG Men in Harrison Bergeron and The Elders Committee in The Giver are these people equal with others? No, they are in a higher level where they known more than others. If we take this inequality alway then the world will break down. For sure the world will always have new ideas coming out, but if there are new ideas, new inventions, who is the one who thinks about it? That person, is he equal to others? He would be more intelligent than others and so inequal. There is one thing that everyone has to do in their life, work. So this world must have many different jobs, and different jobs also have different levels of intelligence required. Then are they really treated the same way as well as others, of example if I m a doctor will I be treated the same way as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Critical Appreciation Of Waiting For Godot On Thursday the 12, I attended the performance of the play Waiting for Godot at the Fannin Performance Hall. This play was centered around two friends Vladimir and Estragon who are in the conquest of meeting someone named Godot; throughout their adventure, you meet various characters that influence the story and it also it makes the two main characters and their views on life pop out as well as their actions and words. At the beginning, both Vladimir and Estragon were confused on where they were and who exactly they were going to meet they are usually played with Irish accents the play has a political undertone meaning that everything that is said and the way that is said has often a double meaning. In the play you find a variety of archetypes and the way that they fit in the script is very impressive because these archetypes have direct contact with each other, and although they are all on the same platform meaning that you can see that Pozzo is better off than the duo and he is obviously in a better socioeconomic position than they are but he doesn t treat them as animals although he does treat them as inferior he doesn t treat them like he treats lucky. This is an important because on the political and social side of the play it is the very way that rich treat the poor or the way that a cast system comes into confrontation you see how much Pozzo has in comparison to others and you wonder why he couldn t offer them food you can ask yourself a lot of these kinds of ... • 34. Henry Ford and the Model T Ford Cars are a major part of everyday life. People today cannot imagine walking from Northeast Philadelphia to South Philadelphia, let alone traveling from Philadelphia to Florida. The vehicle that started the mobile craze in America was the Model T ford by Henry Ford. Hitting it off with the entire nation, The Model T Ford was a smashing success. People would say that when the farm was under Henry s control. They would not see any tools. Henry ran his farm the way of the future . Henry ran a very efficient farm however this was not what he wanted to do with life. As we already know Henry wanted to create the first car. Ford was raised on a small farm ran by his father outside of Detroit (Mitchell,1). As a child Henry was very interested in machinery. He always wanted a simpler way to do everything. His Father would go to town and ask the children what they wanted. Henry s brother and sister would ask for candy but henry always asked for clock wheels. Henry Ford was a very intelligent man throughout his life. Henry was only eleven when he began experimenting in his workshop (Barbara Mitchell,7). Henry grew up on the Ford farm just outside of Detroit (Barbara Mitchell,12). When he was sixteen he left the farm and went to live and work in Detroit (Mitchell Barbara,12). Henry wanted to learn more about technology so he can build the first motor vehicle. At four o clock one morning in the spring of 1896, Henry, Clara (Henrys wife) and a friend named Jim Bishop gathered around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sarah Baartman And Contemporary Society Sarah Baartman and Contemporary Society Sarah Saartje Baartman stands as an historic symbol of the racial injustices and sexual exploitation of African American women. Baartman is a female from South Africa whose body shape became a fascination in western society. Her ample hips and large buttocks were not idealized, but seen as savage, deviant, and apelike. In Europe, during the 19th century, she became an object that was exhibited in freak shows under the name of Hottentot Venus. • 37. Raw Documentary Analysis Documentaries. A piece of multimedia produced to enhance viewers knowledge about a particular subject or event. They purport to portray reality; strive to showcase an unbiased viewpoint; endeavour to tell a truthful story. However, this goal is rarely achieved. Directors create documentaries in such a way they can never portray the entire truth. Filmmakers manipulate numerous techniques such as interviews, footage, and editing to construct their version of the truth. They depict reality in their perspective about the topic they wish to exploit. A remarkably influential tool filmmakers utilise to portray a version of reality is their assortment of interviewees. These careful selections can severely influence the documentaries depiction of true to life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is foolish to believe a documentary maker merely documents events as they unfold and incorporates everything in the final product. If this were true, documentaries would be several hours long, repeating the same point indefinitely and they would not be as captivating. Throughout her film, Cowperthwaite purposely applies footage of Orca s in the wild; their natural habitat; demonstrating how they should truly live. Cowperthwaite proceeds to incorporate additional footage of Orca s in captivity, highlighting the drastic and monstrous change in lifestyle to the viewers. Cowperthwaite also includes in her creation, footage of employees at shows and during training. These videos show the trainers carefully working through stunts for shows with the utmost care for safety, discounting SeaWorld s numerous claims of workers not taking correct precautions before attempting a command. The inclusion of this footage positions the audience to develop a further biased opinion of the unfortunate events that took place, based on the truth the director includes. Therefore despite not being a feature movie, a documentary maker makes deliberate decisions regarding what footage is used in their film, eliminating an element of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first amendment of the Constitution states that Congress shall make no law of respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The State of Indiana has a Senate Bill that is titled the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which contains a law that consents individuals and companies to assert that their exercise of religion has been, or is likely to be, substantially burdened as a defense in legal proceedings (Cohn). As this is obviously a commonly debated issue, there are many points for and against the policy. Governor Mike Pence singed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act last week and created an array of responses from the public. He claims that he signed the act because he supports the freedom of ... I think that denying a person a marital ceremony could be because of religious beliefs. However, a person s sexual orientation does not affect any other person, nor does it affect the way they should be served or treated in a public setting. The United States is a free country so people should be able to express themselves however they want to. If an employee is given the ability to deny service to a person because of something this small, people will eventually be able to deny service to people for all kinds of pointless reasons. We should be uniting together as a state and giving fair treatment to all citizens, instead of discriminating and only offering certain services to people who we see worthy of receiving them. Comparing Plato And Shakespeare s Rage Against The Machine Plato and Shakespeare have something in common, not only words, but they also have written fantastic quotes about how music makes the world turn. If music be the food of love, play on; Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,The appetite may sicken, and so die. Shakespeare in Twelfth Night, Act I scene i ( Musical Quotes and Inspiration. ) Plato said Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. ( Plato Quotes. ) You see music ties together many different types of people, poets, philosophers, and many different cultures. Music has historical lyrics, political meanings, and emotional support for the people who ask for it or need it. The ancient hawaiians used musicians as historians and their history was in their chants. People of all cultures in all places still do this in their music.
