Islamophobia In Australia
THE UNDENIABLE TRUTH ABOUT RECLAIM AUSTRALIA
Gaidaa Salih investigates further into the truth
The abuse, stereotyping and scapegoating of Australian Muslims is on the rise in 2016 and the
media isn t helping.
Extremist and terrorist are terms synonymous with Muslim. But who is responsible for this
negative, simplified word association? Do we need to cast a critical eye over the role of the media?
This is simply because that is how the media typically portrays Islam. They have an influence over
our perceptions of many controversial issues such as Islamophobia. But has there been strategies
and efforts used to prevent and eliminate Islamophobia?
The media has generally represented the Reclaim Australia group as fringe. The question you could
be asking is why, even after this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Muslim preachers, teachers and parents . According to Bolt the government shouldn t fund Islamic
schools or organisations, that should not need our money. These type of media sources, that
continue to portray the ideologies of the Reclaim Australia movement in a positive light causes
controversial issues.
Jeff Sparrow, author of Reclaim Australia: the fear remains the same, but targets keep changing
published in ABC News, has effectively in his text appealed to you emotionally through the use of
rhetorical questions. When you read these words, you were intended to feel in a certain way. Hence
being persuaded to support Sparrow s logical arguments. How you can be against Islam without
targeting Muslims? wouldn t you agree with that statement? Sparrow provided evidence of how the
fear s the same but victims have changed throughout the years that and have faced similar
discrimination that we are experiencing

The Role and the Relationship Between Professionals and Lay Persons in the Process of Civil
Admissions Under the Mental Health Act 1983
The process of civil admissions under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983 may be viewed by civil
libertarians as a violation of the individual s freedom. The state s justification for such a violation is
for the need to protect the individual concerned or to protect others in society. The Mental Health
Act 1983 does not explicitly require that an individual would have to be dangerous in order for that
individual to be admitted to hospital. However, there has developed a dangerousness criterion,
(whether the individual would be considered to be dangerous to himself ... Show more content on

Section 3 allows for treatment of a patient who is suffering from one of the specific categories of
disorder,[4] which is deemed necessary for the patient s health or safety or for the protection of
others.
The process of civil confinement requires an application for admission to the hospital from
either an approved social worker (ASW) or the nearest relative (NR) of the individual who is to
be confined. The applications must also be certified by two medical recommendations (one
medical recommendation will suffice in an emergency under s.4). Section 26 (1) of the MHA
1983 provides the legal definition of the NR. The relatives of whole blood are usually preferred
over relatives of half blood. In the event that there are two relatives of the relevant class, the elder
of the two will usually be chosen as the nearest relative .
Section 114 (2) of the MHA 1983 requires that ASWs should have appropriate competence in
dealing with persons who are suffering from mental disorder. An ASW must also undergo twelve
weeks of training and must also attend regular refresher courses. This is in contrast with the NR,
who does not require any specialist training or knowledge. It is also a divergence from the duties
of the Mental Welfare Officer under the Mental Health Act 1959, who also did not require any
specialist training to undertake their

Evaluating and Improving Hr Practices Within an Organization
Introduction Corporate America and government agencies continue to improve their HR practices
to stay competitive in today s changing marketplace. By taking too long to find and to hire talented
professionals in a tight labor market, companies and government agencies are losing out on top
candidates and limiting their ability to become innovative and dynamic organizations. Traditional,
deliberate, and risk averse hiring and retention models lead to positions remaining open for long
periods, opportunities lost as top prospects find other positions, and a reduction in the overall talent
level of the organization. To be more competitive and effective in their recruitmentand retnetion
processes, organizations must foster manageable... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the source of defects has been identified, an improvement program can be defined and
implemented to remove these causes of defects (http://www.taleo.com).
What is a defect in internal recruiting? The Six Sigma methodology defines a defect in terms of
the expectations of the customer, which in the case of an internal recruiting department is the
hiring manager. Hiring an unqualified candidate, a below average performer, or even an employee
that demonstrates a lack of fit to the corporate culture could all be considered a defective outcome
of the recruiting process. How can you reduce defects in corporate recruiting?
Screening out unqualified candidates
Recruiting can be viewed as a screening process. This is especially true during periods of high
unemployment, when the job market is characterized by an oversupply of talent. Under these
conditions, the recruiting function in an organization is to eliminate unqualified people as much as
to seek out talent. To improve the quality of an overall recruiting process, each step of the process
must be designed to maximize the probability that the candidate ultimately selected meets the
expectations of the hiring manager. One way to do this is to maximize the chances that an
unqualified candidate is screened out at each step. The following are some key areas in which to
focus on quality (Ibid.).

Anthrax And Photosynthesis
Anthrax is the disease caused by Bacillus anthracis, it is a gram positive organism because of its
thick peptidologlycon cell wall which stain crystal violet and they are rod shaped. The initial
infection happens when spores get into the body. The spores can be activated and become Anthrax
bacteria .They can then multiply and spread throughout the body producing toxins and causes
severe illness.
Anthrax can be dated back to early 1250 BC it was thought that during Moses time when God
casted the ten plagues that Anthrax was responsible for the fifth plague that caused illness to the
cattle. It was also said that it was in the Iliad, some think that it might have also caused the fall of
Rome. In the 1700s the first clinical descriptions were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then later on he conducted one of his most historic experiments to inject animals with the bacteria
to see how the disease develops. While also conducting this experiment he found out the life
cycle of the bacteria which became Koch s postulates, the relationship between microorganisms
and the diseases caused by it. By the 1800s doctors have seen cases of Anthrax but have not yet
came up with diagnoses of the disease and they haven t found the cause of Anthrax. Wool sorters
disease came about because they saw a link between sheep and the people in animal hair
industries. The mid century researchers have seen rod shaped bodies in blood of infected animals.
The first vaccine was created in 1881 by Louis Pasteur. He experimented with his vaccine by first
giving two shots to twenty five animals of the vaccine then with a weaker form of the bacteria, after
he gave the animals live anthrax. The ones that had the initial vaccination were the ones that
survived, he also gave live Anthrax to animals that haven t had the vaccine those animals did not
survive. Anthrax began to be well documented around the 1900s in the United States, Britain, and

Advantages Of Contingency Theory
In the 1960s, the academic world that was engaged in management theory and research began to
adopt a new and simple orientation, which enabled significant advancement in the study of
organizational management. This new orientation is known today as the contingency approach.
This approach highlights the importance of situational influences on the managementof
organizations and questions the rationale of an optimal, single way to manage and organize
(Zeithaml et al., 1988).
As stated by Donaldson (2001), the contingency theory of organizations is a major theoretical lens
used to view organizations. It yields many insights and has substantial empirical support. As he
said, today the contingency approach dominates theory and research in the management ... Show

When using the contingency theory, the focus has been on organizational effectiveness because it
has been concerned about explaining the success or failure of the organization. Donaldson argued
that organizational effectiveness can have a wider meaning, including efficiency, profitability,

defined as the ability of the organization to attain goals set by itself or by its ability to function as

Seed Drill In The 1500s
Imagine that it was the 1500s and you were in your garden trying to plant 100 seeds, but out of
the 100 seeds you planted, only one actually grew into a plant/vegetable/fruit. This was how
farming and agriculture was before machinery, such as the seed drill, invented in 1566. Farmers
/workers would carry a bag full of seeds and would walk up and down the field randomly
throwing seeds into the ground. Seeds were wasted in the process, so it wasn t very useful, and
also took up a lot of energy, even though it was much cheaper to do. In the 1500s, if you were
bad at farming, you weren t so lucky and would have probably starved/died. So, how did the seed
drill help for those that struggled and also make farming easier? Jethro Tull improved the seed drill

Meaningless Life In Ecclesiastes
After I read Ecclesiastes, I learned that everything is meaningless if you don t believe in God.
Our hearts still have a hole in it and only God could fill up that emptiness in our lives. According
to the writer, he hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to...[him].
All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. (Ecclesiastes 2:1 26). This proves that life
without God is meaningless and empty, you would hate life because there isn t a meaning to it.
The quote gives us an example of a meaningless life; it is like chasing after the wind because it s
pointless and no use, it isn t beneficial. This is disappointing to know because I think that life can
be meaningful if you make the best out of it. Try your best in everything and don t give up, don t
be lazy and actually try contributing to this world because a lot of things could surprise you. In
Life Shaping Decisions , it states that God has a plan for everyone and we should follow it, or
else you will be tragically disappointed. Solomon told this in a perspective most people pursue in
life, which is a interest centered life. In Life Shaping Decisions it tells us that doing whatever
interests isn t always the smartest way to go, you have to consider other things. The person in the
story just did whatever he wanted to do and at the end he felt empty and that everything was
meaningless. This is because he didn t accept God into his life, so he didn t follow God s plan. The

The Women s Pavilion The Columbian Exposition was notable for its impressive architecture and
large international attendance. Of particular importance was the Women s Pavilion. The first of
its kind to have been designed by a female architect, it revealed much about the social plight of
women at that time, and the need for further progress in the movement for equal rights. While its
existence did not trigger significant changes for the Women s Movement, this pavilion was
certainly a promising first step that would set a precedent for women s involvement in later years.

The Lais of Marie de France is a collection of poems that tell enchanting stories of handsome

love emphasizes being in love with a certain individual (Braxton Davis 1). In the lais Bisclavret,

reckless actions. Marie de France demonstrates how these characteristics combined with romantic
infatuation, passion, and a yearning desire; influences corrupt behavior. This behavior then

Bomb Calorimeter Essay
Bomb calorimeter The Usages Introduction:
Like other calorimeters, the bomb calorimeter is used to measure the amount of heat that is
released by an exothermic reaction. The term bomb refers to its usage of a sealed container that
contains an even smaller container within that can endure high pressures. Inside the smaller
container which is surrounded by water, the reaction takes place.
The main difference between a bomb calorimeter and all the other types of calorimeter is that the
change in enthalpy (О”H) isn t being measured. Instead, the change in internal energy(О”U) is
measured.
q reaction = (q water + q bomb)
A bomb calorimeter is made up of:

Natural Disasters And Public Health Of The Affected...
Introduction
Natural disasters will always cause damage to the infrastructures and public health of the affected
communities. Low income countries are the most vulnerable because of a lack of preparation for
coping with the displaced population. Displaced populations of vulnerable areas are often subjected
to poor sanitation and hygiene practices and inaccessible clean water, both as effects of crowding
and being in an unfamiliar environment. It is the primary cause of communicable diseases
following natural disasters. Until recently, policy makers were widely under the misconception
that disease is spread from bodies. While it is still exaggerated in the media, the main cause of
illness and death following disasters is due to an inadequate provision of water, sanitation, and
hygiene (WASH) practices. Preparation by governments and foreign organizations should focus
on the sanitation of those displaced in order to address communicable diseases in the short term.
Having a strong plan before the disaster can promote sustained WASH practices after disaster
recovery and improve long term health. Governments of at risk countries often do not have the
resources for integrating WASH and disaster preparation and rely on foreign assistance. Their goal
is to identify hazards and risks of likely natural disasters, and take it into account when designing
new infrastructure. Hardware like latrines and sanitation facilities should be able to withstand the
disaster or be safe to use

Descriptive Essay About Paradise Point
Julianne De Armas Installment 2 I visited my place Paradise Point Resort and Spa for the second

history and timeline of how Paradise Point came about. For my second visit to Paradise Point I
went at 4:30 on a Monday, with the weather being in the mid 80 s. There were vacationers,
guests, and employees all occupying the island. According to my prior knowledge and my
observations from last time I visited Paradise Point the animal life was a lot less active. When

not impressed with the bay because it was not deep enough to accommodate his ships, so he left

Donald Trump Beliefs
We live in this world conforming to rooted values and faiths that direct our knowledge of what is
right and what is wrong, and which inspires us to generate a sense of the world in distinct
approach. We attain and develop into our beliefs, and which are constructed into countless factors,
including the media, family, friends, and one s culture. With these factors, we may be able to
distinguish and analyze a few beliefs and values, and even other different factors may construct the
decisions we make without even being aware of them. Although, even with or without that sense of

The American people play a factor into why the US is falling short of its democratic ideals.
There are people who are losing their moral values and social media is a vital factor as to why
people have been encouraged to the loss of moral values. It is very simple and easy for one to
write something negative that can invade an individual s privacy and against one s religion. For
example, political leader Donald Trump uses Twitter as a place to share his thoughts, and
opinions about certain beliefs and factors. Social Media is very simple and just takes a click of a
button to post anything for the world to see. The powerful things the media can create are
alarming and needs to be viewed with more consideration to protect individual principled values.
In fact, people should be more conscious of how social media and the web brings influence into
other s lives. But, although it may suggest that the only values that are held by our society is the
idea of fulfillment, as if people do not care about individual actions affecting others. In present day,
all things are about instantaneous fulfillment. For instance, I have the power and ability to do
whatever I please to anybody, but they better not do it back to me. The example above demonstrates

Caste System In The Medieval Era
Born into Hope How would it feel to be nothing? How would it be to be born without hope? This
is something that is often true about the Medieval Period, this is a time without social privileges
unless you were born into wealth. Even if many were not born into wealth there are select few that
have the advantage to be a nobleman, kings, queens, and church people. The people right under the
king are the nobles. The nobles are born into their place in society which guarantees them wealth,
privilege, and powerful family. During the times of the medieval era there was a form of
government set up that was similar to a caste system. (thefindertimes.com) To define a caste
system, it is a class structure determined by birth. If your family is poor then you will be poor,
also the same about rich families. During medieval times a hierarchy existed, a pyramid of sorts
with royalty at the top and peasants, comprising the bulk of the population, at the bottom.
(thefindertimes.com). This is a recognition of a caste system. The part that is different from a
caste system is the possibility to change your own fate. This could be done through loyalty or
hard work. Even if thought impossible it would not be easy. But if granted land by the king for
service then your family to come will also be wealthy. The riches and respect may be given to
nobles and other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Over Thinking Leads To Indecision In William Shakespeare s...
When one is internally struggling between two choices they can easily become lost in their
choice, or rather no choice. Over thinking can lead to indecision, being costly to one s goals. In
William Shakespeare s 1601 play, Hamlet, Hamlet s indecisiveness on wanting to revenge his father
s death is consuming his sanity. Torn between his indecision leading him to inaction and revenge is
where Hamletbreaks and his sanity becomes consumed. Revenge was a cornerstone of life during
the 1600 s, a source of pride and honor. If one s family member were killed then they would kill the
murderer, no extra thoughtor decision to make. This is true for many, including Prince Fortinbras
and Laertes. Hamlet did not want to fall short of this honor. First learning of the most unnatural
murder of his father he was covered in rage and a need for revenge. This rage wavered but came
back after Hamlet s envie of Prince Fortinbras s quick action, he declared my thoughts be bloody,
or be nothing worth. This declaration is so pivotal as we see the effects of the internal battle that
Hamlet has had to deal with, his sanity slowly fading... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

wanting revenge for his wife and kingdom? All these questions were filling his head, causing him
to halt and begin his long journey of inaction. He felt trapped, in need of answers. Hamlet s
decision to find out the truth or lies of the Ghost led him to say O, what a rogue and peasant slave

Women s Role On The Home Front
With the problem of World War I, women had to band together and become strong to help defend
the nation while the men went to war. Women s new role on the home front was that many women
(nearly three million) were employed in food, textile, and war industries. Not only did women
maintain their households, but they also played the roles of helping to support the war. Having been
exposed to labor, they learned new skills which advanced women farther. The women and girls
cooked for the soldiers, nursed the wounded and sick and helped them survive their injuries and
their sicknesses. Not only were women working jobs in factories that had only been reserved for
white males but also African Americans migrated from the rural south to the urban north,

It s Time to Abolish The Penny! Essay
Between 2001 and 2006, there has been an increase of .6 cents for the reproduction of the penny.
This increase displays economic problems that may lead to fatal ones. The penny is composed of

materials to skyrocket. Many Americans think the penny is putting our country in jeopardy with

revenue loss. (Accenture, 2014). It is clear that the new driving force behind U.S. Manufacturing is
having a strong, skilled workforce. The skilled workforce of the industry is often the one thing that
sets them apart from their competitors. Manufacturers that want to dominate their particular market

guide this research: 1.What is there such a pending skilled workforce shortage? 2.How does this

and retention of skilled workers? 1.4 Significance of the Study The purpose of this student is to

our industries depends on solving the problem of getting more people interested in skilled work and
the importance of retaining them has on the success of industries. 1.5 Limitations and Delimitations

different qualifications for skilled workers. Another limitation to the student is the variability

US Sectionalism Essay
From colonial times there were differences in geography that gave rise to variations in culture and
economy in the United States. Due to the differing characteristics, a sectional economy molded the
United States into two distinct regions: the north and the south. The north, a commercial society,
which supported industry and commerce while the south, an agrarian civilization, flourished in the
production of raw materials with use of slaves. The two economies were both self supporting and
capable to create a stronger, more productive nation. The regional differences sought to build
America, in turn threatened to destroy it. Many Historians believe that the Civil War was
constructed over the issue of slavery. However, the concerns of states... Show more content on

Along with the demand for cotton came a demand for labor. Black slaves from Africa were used to
hand pick cotton in cotton fields, a tedious and daunting job. After Eli Whitney s invention of the
cotton gin, cotton production skyrocketed from the average 3,000 bails per year to 300,000 bails
per year. Unlike the north, the south lacked transportation improvements such as railways, roads,
and water canals. In contrast to the many economical differences of the industrial north and
agrarian south, few similarities arise in the struggle of sectionalism. Both the societies consisted of
utilization of trade, westward expansion, and the use of unskilled labor. The north s industrial
businesses such as textile industries demanded the south s production of cotton in order to maintain
its market with oversees buyers. Also, the fight for westward land was among the many conflicts
between the north and the south. And the use of unskilled labor was highly shared between these
two economies. In the south, the use of untrained African slaves was its main entity to economic
success. Like the south, the north used amateur workers in its industries to boost its production.
Among the economies of the north and south arose many conflicts that led to the tension of the
Civil War in 1861. In the 1800s, slavery was a major sectional issue. Northerners were strongly
opposed to slavery unlike the south s belief that slavery was economically beneficial.

Natural Gas Is A Non Renewable Resource
Natural Gas
Natural gas is a non renewable resource, meaning that it will not last forever. If the production of
natural gas continues at the same rate, it will only last for approximately another 91 years.
Natural gas is a power source used to power particular things in homes, for example heaters, hot
water and stoves. The way this particular power source is produced/sourced is that at the bottom of
the ocean, deceased animals and plants etc. otherwise called organic matter are found and can be
broken down into the formation of natural gas through a series of wells and pipes, and delivered to
homes and businesses and other places where natural gas is used through the pipes. Scientists are
trying to find other resources for gas because they are aware that the current one won t last and
that they are harming the environment and habitats of creatures in the sea through this procedure.
This procedure is called Hydraulic Fracturing, otherwise known as fracking . Part of the fracking
procedure is that a high water pressure is sent through tubes and pipes under water being forced
onto different rocks. This water, however, contains several harmful chemicals that damage the
organisms and animals and their habitats under water. Once the rock is cracked/ fractured, the oil
and gas is carried back up the pipes. The air is also polluted in this procedure as the findings of the
fracking process are relocated into either evaporators or into condensation tanks releasing dangerous

Henri Lefebvre (1991) asserted that the production of space concerns the performances of
power through (as cited in Aitken Dixon, 2006, p. 332). Space is power. Large spaces between
the rich and the poor in the buying area underline the performance of space. The representation
of space is much more crowded for the poor as shown in the Piazza Vittorio. Gonzaga (2017)
would call this the cinematographic unconscious of slum voyeurism (p. 102). Representational
spaces are filled up with the power of the government and the rich. The scene of the linen being
brought up in the warehouse of linen characterizes society s gross inequality, suggesting that the
rich steals from the poor the most. Depicting the poor as they are illustrates the spaces denied to
them. If they are concentrated in any space, it is the space of neglect and impoverishment. Filmic
landscapes in The Bicycle Thief reveal the reel and the real, the widespread social conditions and
their social meanings for the working class in desperate conditions. De Sica uses mise en scene to
reveal poverty and mobility to underline the lack of movement of the poor. In the end, they steal
from each other, an ironic misdeed, when the rich steals from them the most, specifically by
denying them better economic opportunities. The ending is pessimistic but realistic: the poor have

The Role Of Emotions Of Memory And Learning
Role of Emotions in Memory and Learning

Introduction
Think back to one of your earliest memories, perhaps a memory of being frightened as a young
child, or being delighted by a new experience or sensation. Why is it that we remember certain
events in our life that are triggered by a deep or intense emotion, but we cannot remember what we
had for lunch last Tuesday? The way in which we relate to the world is so heavily influenced by
our memories, and in part by the emotions in which we felt when we experienced said event. If
once as a teen you were nearly hit by a car when crossing a road, you future interactions with road
crossings is probably going to be a slightly more heightened event than if you had never
experienced such an event.
The same phenomenon is evident in the way in which we learn also. If you had to write an
English paper as a teen about the turbulent love story of Romeo and Juliet whilst experiencing a
breakup with your high school sweetheart, the story will probably be attached in your memory
forever, even more so because the emotions expressed in the story are very similar to what you
yourself are experiencing. We have all had the experience of hearing a certain song or smelling a
certain perfume whilst we are experiencing an intense, mind rattling emotion hearing said song in
the future could be like reliving the entire event, physiologically and mentally.
So why is it that we can recall events or

If the identity of being a Nazi is subtracted from the identity of the German occupiers, the young
reader is likely to perceive Germanness as an intrinsic predisposition towards evilness . What is
more, when the responsibility for these atrocities is put on monsters and other metaphysical

eight girls and eight boys, and is almost entirely made up of students from a low socioeconomic

The graphic organizer allows students to inform their teacher what they know, what they want to
know, and what they learned. This was the only constructivism observed in the class. Due to time
constraints, the teacher does not have enough time to go more in depth with the students with the
concepts to evoke more meaningful learning. The students in this class could benefit from more
class discussions to elicit a better understanding of the subject matter. The worksheets that the
students work with have very little relevance in their lives, which only adds frustration to the
learning process. With time being the main reason that there is a lack of constructivism, the teacher
could look into alternative approaches. One approach that might work well in this classroom is
problem based learning. The students are inquisitive and innovative. Classroom distractions would
be lowered, and the students would be actively engaged in their learning.
Theories of Intelligence Howard Gardner s theory of multiple intelligence s (MI theory) is a
valuable resource for teachers, if they understood how they could apply this in the classroom
(Snowman McCown, 2012). In this class, there are multiple intelligences observed amongst the
students; however, there is minimal differentiated instruction to allow the students the best
opportunities for success. It is critical that teachers understand that their teaching methods may not
be wrong, but they

Medical Flight Transportation And Medical Safety
When individuals think of a nurse they often think of a bedside nurse at a hospital. Hospital nurses
see to the comfort of the patient and administer medications which have been ordered by a doctor.
But when a nurse is mentioned, very few people think of a flight nurse, yet these nurses have saved
countless lives. During transportation, flight nurses are solely responsible for the well being of
their patients. Flight transportation becomes necessary in a life or death emergency, or when the
distance from a patient to a hospitalis too far for practical ambulance transportation. Medical flight
transportation has also been used during war time to transport wounded soldiers from the battlefield
to a hospital. Flight nurses must cope with physical and mental stress, have superior knowledge,
and be able to independently make life saving decisions...ultimately they are heroes
Flight Nurses must be prepared to face virtually any medical emergency. They must be
competent in advanced cardiac life support, have critical care experience and must also have
good judgement. The may be called upon to take care of anyone, from infants to the elderly. The
patient could have injuries from a car accident, or they could be hanging on to life after a heart
attack. In Australia, it is common for elderly farmers to be severely injured by their livestock.
Flight nurses must have enough experience to know the correct procedure for any of these events.

Pablo Escobar, also known as the king of cocaine, changed the western world. He also changed

films about Anne Boleyn, and they have all shown Anne from a different perspective. These
different outlooks of Anne allow readers to form their own opinions and decide for themselves
who Anne Boleyn really was. We ve been able to see her character portrayed in the documentary
Henry and Anne: The Lovers Who Changed History, the book The Creation of Anne Boleyn, and

This young audience would then be exposed to a positive version of Anne, which would in turn
influence how they would see her. I believe this novel greatly impacted what would go into my
interpretation of Anne Boleyn, because I do see Anne in a respectful way. In my opinion this
book is a great example of rhetoric. As defined before rhetoric can be a piece of writing that is
used to persuade someone to think a certain way. Since the book is fiction, most would probably
assume that it is just for entertainment. However, if you step back and look at the big picture, you
can definitely see a hint of persuasion in it. I feel that Dunn was able to influence her readers to
think of Anne the way she does, and sways them to look at Anne in a not so typical way. This
novel also shows great support for feminism. Feminism is a belief to advocate women s rights and
interests. Both of the main female characters, Anne and Kate, show an immense amount of strong
traits and interests. They are both mature, honest women who stand up for what they believe is right.
Another work that has centered around Anne Boleyn is the documentary by Suzannah Lipscomb
called Henry and Anne: The lovers Who Changed History. The goal of this film is to try to reveal
the truth about Henry and Anne s love story while also providing a different idea of how the two

The Parthenon Sculptures Should Be Returned to Greece
The Greeks finished building an exquisite temple to their beloved goddess, Athena in the year 432
BCE. (Sayre 60). The name of this enriched, unique temple was the Parthenon. The Parthenon took
the Greeks approximately fifteen years to complete and as Pericles stated, it was built to give
gratitude to their goddess Athena for the salvation of their city, Athensand all of Greece in the
Persian Wars (Sayre 60). It was also a symbol of their power and superiority among other cultures.
It was something the Greeks took great pride in and recognized it to a great extent. The Parthenon
was built on the highest point of the city of Athens to look over the precious Greek city. On the
exterior walls of the Parthenon there was beautiful artwork that... Show more content on

Therefore, I strongly believe that these exquisite sculptures need to return to where they were
originally built, in Greece. As I mentioned, this is an extremely controversial topic that has raised a
lot of difference in opinions. Furthermore, I must admit that those arguing for the sculptures to
remain in Britain do make some interesting points that plenty of people have taken into
consideration. One of their arguments is that the sculptures were already in a damaged and fragile
condition, and leaving them in Greece would have destroyed them completely ( The Parthenon
Marbles: Refuting the Arguments , par 6). In the YouTube video, Parthenon Marbles Debate , one
of Tristam Hunt s arguments is if the Greeks are able to acquire their historic artwork, this may
cause other countries to demand their historic artifacts as well, not just from the British Museum,
but from museums all over the world as well. I can see the counter arguments that this controversy
issue involves. However, regardless of whether they were in a horrible condition, the Greeks were
never consulted, nor did they have a say regarding the selling of this artwork to Elgin. Now, when it
comes to everyone claiming and demanding they receive their ancient artwork, like historian Hunt
said; this is true. It can happen, but I don t believe that any other artifacts have the amount of
significance that these sculptures do. The Greeks worked their hearts

Victims of American Westward Expansion...Accommodation or Resistance? When viewing a map
of the country of Mexico prior to the American westward expansion, it was actually larger than the
United States had been at that time. Some lands that Mexico lost in the Mexican American war

California(the third largest state in the present US) and New Mexico(the fifth largest state in the

By doing this she is clearly stating that she is not willing to except the traditions of the

Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo was an influential man from California who unlike Vigil y Alarid,
was in support of Americans coming to California. He thought that it would be strong, positive
and economically smart to develop unoccupied lands. But what he did not realize was that the
Americans were not interested in adapting to the culture of Mexicans. They wanted the
Mexicans to adapt to the Anglo ways of life. On June 14, 1846 a group of 35 or so American
men led by John C. Fremont invaded Sonoma expecting to go to war with the Mexicans but
found nothing but a sleeping town (Padilla, 53). Vallejo writes Doubtless God had decreed that
June 1846 was to be the blackest month of my life (Padilla, 53). The Americans that Vallejo had
befriended had turned against him: ...who seems to have struck a bargain with the devil: he had
been friendly toward the same American immigrants who were now about to seize him as a
prisoner of war (Padilla, 54). The irony was there was no war in Sonoma at the Bear Flag Revolt

Tell All Truth But Tell It Slant Poem Analysis
Poetry is defined as writing that formulates a concentrated imaginative awareness of experience
in language chosen and arranged to create a specific emotional response through meaning,
sound, and rhythm (CITE) There are many great poets but one of the most highly regarded is
Emily Dickinson. Dickinson is considered the recluse of Amherst, little did everyone know, she
would turn out to be one of the most influential poets of not only her time but forever. Two of her
poems This is my letter to the world, and Tell all truth but tell it slant both deal with society and
people s emotions. In the poem this is my letter to the world Emily writes about the feeling she has
as she leaves society. Tell all truth but tell it slant is a piece about how the truth is not meant for
everyone. Emily Dickinsonuses poetic devices such as personification, rhymescheme, and metaphor
to accurately convey the unique themes of her pieces.
In Dickinson s poem This is My Letter to the World, she is expressing her reclusiveness towards
the world. What Emily means by this is that she wrote a letter to the world, but the world does
not know who she is since she never leaves her home. She also writes about what nature has
taught her in hopes to teach other people lessons. In the closing of the poem she asks the readers
to not judge her harshly on what she has written. The overall theme of this poem is that if people
were to judge, they should judge by the truth. She does not want to be judged harshly for
separating herself from the world, she just wants to belong. She uses many devices through all of
her poems to help convey the overall theme. In the poem This is My Letter to the World, Dickson
uses the personification of nature, rhyme scheme, and metaphor to show her overall theme.
Within the poem, Dickinson writes, The simple news that Nature told, With tender majesty.
Dickinson is using personification because nature cannot literally speak to her and tell her the basic
truths about life. In this poem, Dickinson communicates with the world, though the message from
Nature. She views nature as her friend, which stresses to the reader that nature is personified.
Dickinson uses slant rhyme within the poem, she also uses

Euthanasia And Healthcare Workers Essay
Euthanasia means different things to different people. The definition provided by
www.euthanasia.com states that euthanasia is the intentional killing by act or omission of a
dependent human being for his or her alleged benefit. (The key word here is intentional . If death is
not intended, it is not an act of euthanasia) . There are several key definitions listed on the euthanasia
site such as voluntary euthanasia, involuntary euthanasia, assisted suicide, and euthanasia by action
or omission. There are those who feel that euthanasia is an act of compassion at the end of ones life,

Like Judaism, Christianity teaches that God endowed human life with intrinsic value. From the
first century A.D. to the twentieth century, virtually all Christians condemned suicide as a means of
escaping the suffering that afflicts human beings. This accounted for the uniformity of opinion
throughout Christendom about the virtues of extending human life and enduring suffering when
death approached as an essential part of God s providential plan for each and every individual.
Once Christianity became more widespread, it is easy to see that the trend moved towards
saving each and every person s life, even to the detriment to the quality of life experienced before
death. Early Christians built hospitals and cared for the sick, while many monks became
Hippocratic physicians and continued the Hippocratic tradition through the Dark Ages (Reville
2010). Largely driven by Christian ideals, medicine and nursing spread throughout the world, and
remained under this Hippocratic Christian consensus until the 1950 s (Reville 2010). In fact
America began to get its first taste of a shifting public opinion on euthanasia in 1915 when a
doctor by the name of Harry J. Haiselden allowed a severely deformed baby to succumb to death
rather than perform surgery (Dowbiggin 2003). This sent shockwaves across the country and
marked a milestone for opening up future dialogue between Americans

How Did The Government Influence The Development Of The...
Throughout the history of the American government, there have been changes that have ultimately
influenced the way our society runs. From the rapid growth of the thirteen colonies to today s 21
century political and legal systems, the development of the American government has grown
substantially from the creation of the Continental Congress to the what is now known as the United
StatesSupreme Court. The origins of the American government traces all the way back to the
struggle between the developing colonies and England. During the development of the United
States of America, there arose many issues that resulted in violent outbreaks caused by the
overrated demands from the government against their people. The hatred toward the government
took the form of the Revolutionary War, and its success against England gave the American people
the opportunity to provide a legal way to their ideas as expressed in the Declaration of
Independence.
On the other hand, declaring independence was one thing, but figuring out the next step into this
new adventure of freedom was another. No individual had an idea of what was going on or what

Linkedin Vs. Pinterest Marketing Strategy
As a small business consultant, I am constantly having to change mindsets especially when it comes
to digital marketing. At the top of my battles is hearing small business owners claim that their
customers are not active social media users.
However, if my business customer is on board with adding a social media strategy to their marketing
mix, they feel pretty confident what platforms are not for them. Most of the time the two platforms
they are sure will not lead to sales are LinkedIn and Pinterest.
True, not all social platforms are perfect for each and every business. However, LinkedIn and

As for ethics, the most important thing to not forget is the copyright law. Next, and one of my

Arguments In Favor Of Immigration Reform
I would like to formally state how I deeply disagree on how you would carry out your
immigration reform if you do end up winning the presidency. On your campaign website, you
claim that you will build a wall across the southern border, round up all those who had entered
illegally, and you will make Mexicopay for the building of the wall. These ideas of yours are
inhumane and goes against what the U.S. government stands for. The better alternative is we can
give them a six month period, like Ben Carson said, for them to register for citizenship. Those six
months would give them time to register for citizenship, get a job, and show that they have not
caused any harm to this country.

Trump, claim that the U.S has become a dumping ground for people s problem, but Mexicans do
not come to this country to cause mayhem. According to the Japan times, the country poverty rate
had increased to 46.2 percent since last year, 2 million more joins that ranking, from 45.5 percent in
2012. As previously stated, Mexicans do not come to this country to cause mayhem, but they come
to this country because they must. They must give a better opportunity for their family to survive.
When Mexicans come to this country, they take jobs that Americans are not willing to take. Though
those jobs do not offer them much, they do offer them enough to put a a roof their heads, food on
the table, and clothes on their back.
So by rounding those who entered illegally and their U.S. born children, you are sending them
back to a country that continuous to struggle greatly and to the poverty they were incredibly
trying to escape. Please Mr. Trump, reconsider your plans of building the wall, and sending them
back to a place of poverty, and Mexico paying for the contrsuction of the wall with the money they

Many processes associated human habitation of an area cause loss of this area and decrease the
carrying capacity of the land for that species.
Examples of habitat destruction include grazing of bush land by farmed animals, changes to natural
fire regimes, forest clearing for timber production and wetland draining for city expansion. Impact
of introduced species
The vast majority of species exposed to a new habitat do not reproduce successfully. Occasionally,
however, some populations do take hold and after a period of acclimation can increase in numbers
significantly, having destructive effects on many elements of the native environment. The Rattus
Rattus is native to India, but it has spread to almost everywhere in the world. This rat has directly
caused, or contributed to, the extinction of multiple wildlife species including a variety of birds,
plants and other small mammals. They re blamed for the incredible decline in seabirds on several
islands, including many Hawaiian species
Some introduced species (such as most of our food crops and pets) are beneficial. However, others
are very damaging. People have moved species around the world for millenia, sometimes by
accident, but often with considerable enthusiasm. English garden birds in New Zealand are merely
quaint curiosities introduced by settlers wanting the familiar species of their former homes. Some
introductions have been devastating

Essay about The Powers of Satan in Paradise Lost
The Powers of Satan in Paradise Lost Since the beginning of Paradise Lost, a reader can witness
the dramatizing power possessed by Satan, and how he takes advantage of this very power in
order to satisfy his own causes. One such property of Satan s fantastic powers is his ability to
manipulate any individual into a false belief of who he really is, and therefore prevent a habitant
of paradise from discovering his true purpose that is hidden behind his actions. One such example
of this, and one of the most major in the epic, are the events that occur in Book IX involving Satan
and Eve around the forbidden tree. Here, Satan uses, what is to Eve, excellent reasoning to convince
her to eat the forbidden fruit, thereby exploiting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though her beauty momentarily stuns him and he, for the time remained stupidly good,
his dedication to his vengeful cause prevails, and allows him to continue his appropriate plan. It
is this same dedication that throughout Satan s conversation with Eve, he does not allow her to
retreat back to Adam in order to lose such an ideal situation. Initially, Satan s actions with Eve
involve little effort to convince her that he is not any evil demon that Adam told her to expect
on her voyage. Simply, he uses his ability to flatter Eve in order to gain her attention and trust, an
essential objective if he was willing to destroy mankind (p. 248 249 lines 540 548): #8230;By
gift, and thy celestial beauty adore, With ravishment beheld #8230; #8230;who shouldst be seen
A Goddess among Gods, adored and served By Angels numberless, thy daily train? Using this
flattery to compliment her beauty, and allowing her to recognize the fact that all of Eden s
animals adore her, he slyly inserts the proposition that will allow her to become greater in power
and being, A Goddess among Gods, rivaling the omnipotent power possessed by God. Satan came
in the form of a snake, the only reptile and animal that could have the ability to pluck the forbidden
fruit from the tree. When questioned how he attained the ability to talk and interact, he simply
answered that he ate the fruit of the tree, and received the knowledge equal to that of a human.

Extremist and terrorist are terms synonymous with Muslim. But who is responsible for this negative, simplified word association? Do we need to cast a critical eye over the role of the media? This is simply because that is how the media typically portrays Islam. They have an influence over our perceptions of many controversial issues such as Islamophobia. But has there been strategies and efforts used to prevent and eliminate Islamophobia? The media has generally represented the Reclaim Australia group as fringe. The Role and the Relationship Between Professionals and Lay Persons in the Process of Civil Admissions Under the Mental Health Act 1983 The process of civil admissions under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983 may be viewed by civil libertarians as a violation of the individual s freedom. The state s justification for such a violation is for the need to protect the individual concerned or to protect others in society. The Mental Health Act 1983 does not explicitly require that an individual would have to be dangerous in order for that individual to be admitted to hospital. Section 3 allows for treatment of a patient who is suffering from one of the specific categories of disorder,[4] which is deemed necessary for the patient s health or safety or for the protection of others. The process of civil confinement requires an application for admission to the hospital from either an approved social worker (ASW) or the nearest relative (NR) of the individual who is to be confined. The applications must also be certified by two medical recommendations (one medical recommendation will suffice in an emergency under s.4). Section 26 (1) of the MHA 1983 provides the legal definition of the NR. The relatives of whole blood are usually preferred over relatives of half blood. In the event that there are two relatives of the relevant class, the elder of the two will usually be chosen as the nearest relative . Section 114 (2) of the MHA 1983 requires that ASWs should have appropriate competence in dealing with persons who are suffering from mental disorder. An ASW must also undergo twelve weeks of training and must also attend regular refresher courses. This is in contrast with the NR, who does not require any specialist training or knowledge. Evaluating and Improving Hr Practices Within an Organization Introduction Corporate America and government agencies continue to improve their HR practices to stay competitive in today s changing marketplace. By taking too long to find and to hire talented professionals in a tight labor market, companies and government agencies are losing out on top candidates and limiting their ability to become innovative and dynamic organizations. Traditional, deliberate, and risk averse hiring and retention models lead to positions remaining open for long periods, opportunities lost as top prospects find other positions, and a reduction in the overall talent level of the organization. Once the source of defects has been identified, an improvement program can be defined and implemented to remove these causes of defects (http://www.taleo.com). What is a defect in internal recruiting? The Six Sigma methodology defines a defect in terms of the expectations of the customer, which in the case of an internal recruiting department is the hiring manager. Hiring an unqualified candidate, a below average performer, or even an employee that demonstrates a lack of fit to the corporate culture could all be considered a defective outcome of the recruiting process. How can you reduce defects in corporate recruiting? Screening out unqualified candidates Recruiting can be viewed as a screening process. This is especially true during periods of high unemployment, when the job market is characterized by an oversupply of talent. Under these conditions, the recruiting function in an organization is to eliminate unqualified people as much as to seek out talent. To improve the quality of an overall recruiting process, each step of the process must be designed to maximize the probability that the candidate ultimately selected meets the expectations of the hiring manager. One way to do this is to maximize the chances that an unqualified candidate is screened out at each step. The following are some key areas in which to focus on quality (Ibid.). • 10. Meaningless Life In Ecclesiastes After I read Ecclesiastes, I learned that everything is meaningless if you don t believe in God. Our hearts still have a hole in it and only God could fill up that emptiness in our lives. According to the writer, he hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to...[him]. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. (Ecclesiastes 2:1 26). This proves that life without God is meaningless and empty, you would hate life because there isn t a meaning to it. The quote gives us an example of a meaningless life; it is like chasing after the wind because it s pointless and no use, it isn t beneficial. This is disappointing to know because I think that life can be meaningful if you make the best out of it. Try your best in everything and don t give up, don t be lazy and actually try contributing to this world because a lot of things could surprise you. In Life Shaping Decisions , it states that God has a plan for everyone and we should follow it, or else you will be tragically disappointed. Solomon told this in a perspective most people pursue in life, which is a interest centered life. In Life Shaping Decisions it tells us that doing whatever interests isn t always the smartest way to go, you have to consider other things. This is because he didn t accept God into his life, so he didn t follow God s plan. The parable in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Natural Disasters And Public Health Of The Affected... Introduction Natural disasters will always cause damage to the infrastructures and public health of the affected communities. Low income countries are the most vulnerable because of a lack of preparation for coping with the displaced population. Displaced populations of vulnerable areas are often subjected to poor sanitation and hygiene practices and inaccessible clean water, both as effects of crowding and being in an unfamiliar environment. It is the primary cause of communicable diseases following natural disasters. Until recently, policy makers were widely under the misconception that disease is spread from bodies. While it is still exaggerated in the media, the main cause of illness and death following disasters is due to an inadequate provision of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices. Preparation by governments and foreign organizations should focus on the sanitation of those displaced in order to address communicable diseases in the short term. Having a strong plan before the disaster can promote sustained WASH practices after disaster recovery and improve long term health. Governments of at risk countries often do not have the resources for integrating WASH and disaster preparation and rely on foreign assistance. Their goal is to identify hazards and risks of likely natural disasters, and take it into account when designing new infrastructure. Hardware like latrines and sanitation facilities should be able to withstand the disaster or be safe to use ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to my prior knowledge and my observations from last time I visited Paradise Point the animal life was a lot less active. Unfortunately Cabrillo was not impressed with the bay because it was not deep enough to accommodate his ships, so he left it. In 1852 the United States Army Corps attempted to prevent water from flowing into the San Diego River, this resulted in False Bay and the waters surrounding Paradise Point to become an estuary. This only last two years as two dams were eventually built on the North and South side to constrain the river. Then in the late 1800 s some recreational development that included hunting and fishing facilities were built but later destroyed by flooding. Finally in 1902 George Hall, the city horticulture commissions recommended that the 4600 acres of water be developed into an aquatic park. Both the societies consisted of utilization of trade, westward expansion, and the use of unskilled labor. The north s industrial businesses such as textile industries demanded the south s production of cotton in order to maintain its market with oversees buyers. Also, the fight for westward land was among the many conflicts between the north and the south. And the use of unskilled labor was highly shared between these two economies. In the south, the use of untrained African slaves was its main entity to economic success. Like the south, the north used amateur workers in its industries to boost its production. Among the economies of the north and south arose many conflicts that led to the tension of the Civil War in 1861. In the 1800s, slavery was a major sectional issue. Northerners were strongly opposed to slavery unlike the south s belief that slavery was economically beneficial. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If the production of natural gas continues at the same rate, it will only last for approximately another 91 years. Natural gas is a power source used to power particular things in homes, for example heaters, hot water and stoves. The way this particular power source is produced/sourced is that at the bottom of the ocean, deceased animals and plants etc. otherwise called organic matter are found and can be broken down into the formation of natural gas through a series of wells and pipes, and delivered to homes and businesses and other places where natural gas is used through the pipes. Scientists are trying to find other resources for gas because they are aware that the current one won t last and that they are harming the environment and habitats of creatures in the sea through this procedure. This procedure is called Hydraulic Fracturing, otherwise known as fracking . Part of the fracking procedure is that a high water pressure is sent through tubes and pipes under water being forced onto different rocks. This water, however, contains several harmful chemicals that damage the organisms and animals and their habitats under water. Once the rock is cracked/ fractured, the oil and gas is carried back up the pipes. The air is also polluted in this procedure as the findings of the fracking process are relocated into either evaporators or into condensation tanks releasing dangerous ... Irony In The Bicycle Thief Landscapes of Power and Powerlessness in Graziadei and De Sica s (1948) The Bicycle Thief Set in the depression times of post World War II Italy, Graziadei and De Sica s (1948) The Bicycle Thief narrates the story of Antonio Ricci (Lamberto Maggiorani), who, after finding a job as a bill poster, loses his bicycle to a young thief. He tries to look for it with his son Bruno (Enzo Staiola); however, despite seeing the thief, he fails to recover his bicycle. Desperate, he tries to steal a bike himself but is easily thwarted by a group of bystanders. Space is power. Large spaces between the rich and the poor in the buying area underline the performance of space. The representation of space is much more crowded for the poor as shown in the Piazza Vittorio. Gonzaga (2017) would call this the cinematographic unconscious of slum voyeurism (p. 102). Representational spaces are filled up with the power of the government and the rich. The scene of the linen being brought up in the warehouse of linen characterizes society s gross inequality, suggesting that the rich steals from the poor the most. Depicting the poor as they are illustrates the spaces denied to them. If they are concentrated in any space, it is the space of neglect and impoverishment. Filmic landscapes in The Bicycle Thief reveal the reel and the real, the widespread social conditions and their social meanings for the working class in desperate conditions. De Sica uses mise en scene to reveal poverty and mobility to underline the lack of movement of the poor. In the end, they steal from each other, an ironic misdeed, when the rich steals from them the most, specifically by denying them better economic opportunities. The Role Of Emotions Of Memory And Learning Role of Emotions in Memory and Learning Name Institution Course Date Introduction Think back to one of your earliest memories, perhaps a memory of being frightened as a young child, or being delighted by a new experience or sensation. Why is it that we remember certain events in our life that are triggered by a deep or intense emotion, but we cannot remember what we had for lunch last Tuesday? The way in which we relate to the world is so heavily influenced by our memories, and in part by the emotions in which we felt when we experienced said event. If once as a teen you were nearly hit by a car when crossing a road, you future interactions with road crossings is probably going to be a slightly more heightened event than if you had never experienced such an event. The same phenomenon is evident in the way in which we learn also. If you had to write an English paper as a teen about the turbulent love story of Romeo and Juliet whilst experiencing a breakup with your high school sweetheart, the story will probably be attached in your memory forever, even more so because the emotions expressed in the story are very similar to what you yourself are experiencing. We have all had the experience of hearing a certain song or smelling a certain perfume whilst we are experiencing an intense, mind rattling emotion hearing said song in the future could be like reliving the entire event, physiologically and mentally. Not everyone is required to have the same views on a particular topic or subject in order to be a good rhetorician. I believe that Anne Boleyn is a prime example of someone who has a wide set of views about herself. Throughout this course we have been given different texts and films about Anne Boleyn, and they have all shown Anne from a different perspective. These different outlooks of Anne allow readers to form their own opinions and decide for themselves who Anne Boleyn really was. We ve been able to see her character portrayed in the documentary Henry and Anne: The Lovers Who Changed History, the book The Creation of Anne Boleyn, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This young audience would then be exposed to a positive version of Anne, which would in turn influence how they would see her. I believe this novel greatly impacted what would go into my interpretation of Anne Boleyn, because I do see Anne in a respectful way. In my opinion this book is a great example of rhetoric. As defined before rhetoric can be a piece of writing that is used to persuade someone to think a certain way. Since the book is fiction, most would probably assume that it is just for entertainment. However, if you step back and look at the big picture, you can definitely see a hint of persuasion in it. I feel that Dunn was able to influence her readers to think of Anne the way she does, and sways them to look at Anne in a not so typical way. This novel also shows great support for feminism. Feminism is a belief to advocate women s rights and interests. Both of the main female characters, Anne and Kate, show an immense amount of strong traits and interests. They are both mature, honest women who stand up for what they believe is right. Another work that has centered around Anne Boleyn is the documentary by Suzannah Lipscomb called Henry and Anne: The lovers Who Changed History. As I mentioned, this is an extremely controversial topic that has raised a lot of difference in opinions. Furthermore, I must admit that those arguing for the sculptures to remain in Britain do make some interesting points that plenty of people have taken into consideration. One of their arguments is that the sculptures were already in a damaged and fragile condition, and leaving them in Greece would have destroyed them completely ( The Parthenon Marbles: Refuting the Arguments , par 6). In the YouTube video, Parthenon Marbles Debate , one of Tristam Hunt s arguments is if the Greeks are able to acquire their historic artwork, this may cause other countries to demand their historic artifacts as well, not just from the British Museum, but from museums all over the world as well. I can see the counter arguments that this controversy issue involves. However, regardless of whether they were in a horrible condition, the Greeks were never consulted, nor did they have a say regarding the selling of this artwork to Elgin. Now, when it comes to everyone claiming and demanding they receive their ancient artwork, like historian Hunt said; this is true. It can happen, but I don t believe that any other artifacts have the amount of significance that these sculptures do. The Greeks worked their hearts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tell All Truth But Tell It Slant Poem Analysis Poetry is defined as writing that formulates a concentrated imaginative awareness of experience in language chosen and arranged to create a specific emotional response through meaning, sound, and rhythm (CITE) There are many great poets but one of the most highly regarded is Emily Dickinson. Dickinson is considered the recluse of Amherst, little did everyone know, she would turn out to be one of the most influential poets of not only her time but forever. Two of her poems This is my letter to the world, and Tell all truth but tell it slant both deal with society and people s emotions. In the poem this is my letter to the world Emily writes about the feeling she has as she leaves society. Tell all truth but tell it slant is a piece about how the truth is not meant for everyone. Emily Dickinsonuses poetic devices such as personification, rhymescheme, and metaphor to accurately convey the unique themes of her pieces. In Dickinson s poem This is My Letter to the World, she is expressing her reclusiveness towards the world. What Emily means by this is that she wrote a letter to the world, but the world does not know who she is since she never leaves her home. She also writes about what nature has taught her in hopes to teach other people lessons. In the closing of the poem she asks the readers to not judge her harshly on what she has written. The overall theme of this poem is that if people were to judge, they should judge by the truth. She does not want to be judged harshly for separating herself from the world, she just wants to belong. She uses many devices through all of her poems to help convey the overall theme. In the poem This is My Letter to the World, Dickson uses the personification of nature, rhyme scheme, and metaphor to show her overall theme. Within the poem, Dickinson writes, The simple news that Nature told, With tender majesty. Dickinson is using personification because nature cannot literally speak to her and tell her the basic truths about life. In this poem, Dickinson communicates with the world, though the message from Nature. She views nature as her friend, which stresses to the reader that nature is personified. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like Judaism, Christianity teaches that God endowed human life with intrinsic value. From the first century A.D. to the twentieth century, virtually all Christians condemned suicide as a means of escaping the suffering that afflicts human beings. This accounted for the uniformity of opinion throughout Christendom about the virtues of extending human life and enduring suffering when death approached as an essential part of God s providential plan for each and every individual. Once Christianity became more widespread, it is easy to see that the trend moved towards saving each and every person s life, even to the detriment to the quality of life experienced before death. Early Christians built hospitals and cared for the sick, while many monks became Hippocratic physicians and continued the Hippocratic tradition through the Dark Ages (Reville 2010). Largely driven by Christian ideals, medicine and nursing spread throughout the world, and remained under this Hippocratic Christian consensus until the 1950 s (Reville 2010). In fact America began to get its first taste of a shifting public opinion on euthanasia in 1915 when a doctor by the name of Harry J. Haiselden allowed a severely deformed baby to succumb to death rather than perform surgery (Dowbiggin 2003). This sent shockwaves across the country and marked a milestone for opening up future dialogue between Americans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. How Did The Government Influence The Development Of The... Throughout the history of the American government, there have been changes that have ultimately influenced the way our society runs. From the rapid growth of the thirteen colonies to today s 21 century political and legal systems, the development of the American government has grown substantially from the creation of the Continental Congress to the what is now known as the United StatesSupreme Court. The origins of the American government traces all the way back to the struggle between the developing colonies and England. During the development of the United States of America, there arose many issues that resulted in violent outbreaks caused by the overrated demands from the government against their people. The hatred toward the government took the form of the Revolutionary War, and its success against England gave the American people the opportunity to provide a legal way to their ideas as expressed in the Declaration of Independence. On the other hand, declaring independence was one thing, but figuring out the next step into this new adventure of freedom was another. No individual had an idea of what was going on or what was going to become of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 48. Linkedin Vs. Pinterest Marketing Strategy As a small business consultant, I am constantly having to change mindsets especially when it comes to digital marketing. At the top of my battles is hearing small business owners claim that their customers are not active social media users. However, if my business customer is on board with adding a social media strategy to their marketing mix, they feel pretty confident what platforms are not for them. Most of the time the two platforms they are sure will not lead to sales are LinkedIn and Pinterest. True, not all social platforms are perfect for each and every business. However, LinkedIn and Pinterest are two that can benefit most businesses and do lead to sales generation. This post will provide strategic insights on small business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pinterest doesn t like them and will warn those who click on your pin that the link is suspicious and may block the referral completely. If you are repinning, edit the description to align with your brand. For example, if I run a Thai restaurant and repin a recipe for Pad Thai I may edit the description to read Similiar to our Seafood Pad Thai prepared by our chef at Business Name . Finally, with the increase of men joining Pinterest, improvements in the search feature have been made. Now, search results served differ depending on whether the user is male or female. This is a great tid bit to be aware of when naming your boards or pins. As for ethics, the most important thing to not forget is the copyright law. Next, and one of my biggest peeves, check the origin of the pin. Prior to repinning, see if the pin opens up to a legitimate website. If content points to another site not relevant to the pin, don t repin it. Also, read the content to see if it is quality content your customers would appreciate. Finally, for your protection and to preserve pin integrity, on your original content add a watermark of your website or logo to your image. • 49. Arguments In Favor Of Immigration Reform I would like to formally state how I deeply disagree on how you would carry out your immigration reform if you do end up winning the presidency. On your campaign website, you claim that you will build a wall across the southern border, round up all those who had entered illegally, and you will make Mexicopay for the building of the wall. These ideas of yours are inhumane and goes against what the U.S. government stands for. The better alternative is we can give them a six month period, like Ben Carson said, for them to register for citizenship. Those six months would give them time to register for citizenship, get a job, and show that they have not caused any harm to this country. According to the Washington Post, Mexico s economy has totally declined. The values of their peso have decreased radically against the U.S. dollar, growth rate has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trump, claim that the U.S has become a dumping ground for people s problem, but Mexicans do not come to this country to cause mayhem. According to the Japan times, the country poverty rate had increased to 46.2 percent since last year, 2 million more joins that ranking, from 45.5 percent in 2012. As previously stated, Mexicans do not come to this country to cause mayhem, but they come to this country because they must. They must give a better opportunity for their family to survive. When Mexicans come to this country, they take jobs that Americans are not willing to take. Though those jobs do not offer them much, they do offer them enough to put a a roof their heads, food on the table, and clothes on their back. So by rounding those who entered illegally and their U.S. born children, you are sending them back to a country that continuous to struggle greatly and to the poverty they were incredibly trying to escape. Please Mr. Trump, reconsider your plans of building the wall, and sending them back to a place of poverty, and Mexico paying for the contrsuction of the wall with the money they are not able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many processes associated human habitation of an area cause loss of this area and decrease the carrying capacity of the land for that species. Examples of habitat destruction include grazing of bush land by farmed animals, changes to natural fire regimes, forest clearing for timber production and wetland draining for city expansion. Impact of introduced species The vast majority of species exposed to a new habitat do not reproduce successfully. Occasionally, however, some populations do take hold and after a period of acclimation can increase in numbers significantly, having destructive effects on many elements of the native environment. The Rattus Rattus is native to India, but it has spread to almost everywhere in the world. This rat has directly caused, or contributed to, the extinction of multiple wildlife species including a variety of birds, plants and other small mammals. They re blamed for the incredible decline in seabirds on several islands, including many Hawaiian species Some introduced species (such as most of our food crops and pets) are beneficial. However, others are very damaging. People have moved species around the world for millenia, sometimes by accident, but often with considerable enthusiasm. English garden birds in New Zealand are merely quaint curiosities introduced by settlers wanting the familiar species of their former homes. Some introductions have been devastating ... • 51. Essay about The Powers of Satan in Paradise Lost The Powers of Satan in Paradise Lost Since the beginning of Paradise Lost, a reader can witness the dramatizing power possessed by Satan, and how he takes advantage of this very power in order to satisfy his own causes. One such property of Satan s fantastic powers is his ability to manipulate any individual into a false belief of who he really is, and therefore prevent a habitant of paradise from discovering his true purpose that is hidden behind his actions. One such example of this, and one of the most major in the epic, are the events that occur in Book IX involving Satan and Eve around the forbidden tree. Here, Satan uses, what is to Eve, excellent reasoning to convince her to eat the forbidden fruit, thereby exploiting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though her beauty momentarily stuns him and he, for the time remained stupidly good, his dedication to his vengeful cause prevails, and allows him to continue his appropriate plan. It is this same dedication that throughout Satan s conversation with Eve, he does not allow her to retreat back to Adam in order to lose such an ideal situation. Initially, Satan s actions with Eve involve little effort to convince her that he is not any evil demon that Adam told her to expect on her voyage. Simply, he uses his ability to flatter Eve in order to gain her attention and trust, an essential objective if he was willing to destroy mankind (p. 248 249 lines 540 548): #8230;By gift, and thy celestial beauty adore, With ravishment beheld #8230; #8230;who shouldst be seen A Goddess among Gods, adored and served By Angels numberless, thy daily train? Using this flattery to compliment her beauty, and allowing her to recognize the fact that all of Eden s animals adore her, he slyly inserts the proposition that will allow her to become greater in power and being, A Goddess among Gods, rivaling the omnipotent power possessed by God. Satan came in the form of a snake, the only reptile and animal that could have the ability to pluck the forbidden fruit from the tree. When questioned how he attained the ability to talk and interact, he simply answered that he ate the fruit of the tree, and received the knowledge equal to that of a human. ...
