Gender Stereotypes On Children
Gender stereotypes affect children substantially. From the baby boy in blue with trucks and action figures to the baby girl in pink with dolls and princesses,
these roles and generalizations affect children s personalities while they are still developing. Those guiltiest of stereotyping in children s media are Disney,
Nintendo and other video game companies, and reality television. These influences are expansive, and they reach past elementary age kids to teenagers.
Stereotypes negatively impact children of all ages through these forms of media, and parents need to be aware of this. Disney, and the princess brand in
particular, enforces gender stereotypes on young girls. Monika Bartyzel, free lance writer and mother, accuses Disney princesses of inflicting stereotypes on
her daughter. Bartyzel says that her daughter does not run or jump, because it is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is certainly true isolated, there is nothing wrong with these things. When these things embody femininity and become the expectations of all women, then
they are problematic. Liechty also says that characters such as Snow White and Cinderella are admirable for remaining nice, despite bad people trying to hurt
them. Again, she has a point: princesses do teach girls to treat others with respect, but their respect would take them further if it was reciprocated. Liechty s
final arguments involve men: what is wrong with not being happy without a man, and why is it bad that boys are taught to be gallant and courteous? The
answers to both are simple. Firstly, there is a difference between loving a person enough that their loss would ruin one s life, and losing one s value because
there is no longer male attention to validate it. Secondly, the example princes set for boys are good ones, but with gender roles declaring princess movies to be
a girly thing, most boys may not be exposed to these positive role

Young Godman Brown Principle Of Faith
Principle of Faith Young Godman Brown is a prime example of the dark romantism and illustrates in a very straightforward way a principle of faith. Nathaniel
Hawthorne was an American novelist of the beginning of the 19th century. At one point in life, he discovered the true about his father he thought to be deeply
religious man of pure heart. John Hathorne was not only a judge involved in witch trial he also never repented for his actions. His novel Young Godman
Brown is clearly a deeply personal reaction to this revelation. Godman is an ordinary man, same as every other American, leading a rightful life that would get
him to heaven. He is married to a woman aptly named Faith that represents not only purity of his whole world but also his way to heaven, his belief in the
goodness in everyone and the faith itself. It s almost night and Godman sets to a mysterious journey, leaving his wife alone for an unknown, important but evil
errand. The distance between Young Godman and faith, both literally and figuratively, grows with every line. It starts with his wife s nightmare: as if a dream
had warned her what work is to be done tonight and her fears, continue with a parting kiss and a longing, worried gaze. So while Godman remains clueless, it
is becoming more and more clear, where the book is heading and will eventually end. From the moment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Economics in One Lesson Essay
Economics in One Lesson is an introduction to free market economics written by Henry Hazlitt and published in 1946. Hazlitt begins his monumental book by
describing the problems with economic science, showing that its fallacies are greatly exacerbated compared to other scientific fields because of special
interests in government. The special interest groups consistently advocate policies that they benefit from at the expense of everyone else. Many people,
however, believe these fallacies because of man s nature to see only the immediate effects of a given policy, or its effects only on a special group. Those people
neglect the long term effects and the implications on other groups by an economic policy. Hazlitt goes on to explain that ... Show more content on

Considering the role of government in lending and the overlap on taxation, Private lenders are more stringent in their lending policies and, consequently, have
to turn down some high risk borrowers. The government is willing to lend these borrowers the money they need for capital to carry out their businesses. These
borrowers will then be able to acquire the resources they need to produce what they need. What is overlooked at this point is the fact that, because these high
risk borrowers were able to get what could have been acquired by low risk borrowers from private lenders, the resources ended up in the hands of less efficient
producers who may not be as productive as the producers who qualified for private lending. Furthermore, high risk borrowers get the money from the
taxpayers and taxpayers can not fet benefit from this lending and this means the practice to the benefit of a few at the expense of everyone else. For the short
term result, government lending can encourage entrepreneurship to create more GDP and bring benefit for the high risk borrowers. But for the long term result,
high risk borrowers may not produce and use money efficiently when get money from the government. The worse is that this only benefit for special groups.

Second Leading Cause Of Unintentional Drowning
It s summertime, and the perfect time to hit the pool, or in Colorado even a lake or reservoir. There s nothing better than a relaxing dip in the cool water on a
hot summer s day. However, did you know that everyday 10 people die from unintentional drowning? Drowning in fact ranks fifth among the leading causes of
unintentional injury death in the U.S. Additionally, about 1 in 5 people who die from drowning are children ages 14 and younger, and for children in this age
group drowning is the 2nd leading cause of unintentional injury death. When you are out enjoying recreational water activities it s important to be aware of all
important safety measures. Sadly, it can take only 20 60 seconds before a drowning victim sinks underwater.

Comparing Brave New World And Man s Search For Meaning
The stories of Frankl, Mustapha Mond, and Ivan share several similarities and differences. In Viktor E. Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning, he tells us that
finding the meaning of life is finding our happiness and we must not avoid bad situations. A short story called Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Mustapha
Mond is one of the ten controllers of World State. In this story we learn that people in a World State are brainwashed to accept what they are given and told to
do, and by that keeps them stable and happy. Another short story is Gooseberries by Anton Chekhov where we are introduced to a character, Ivan, who
believes people like his brother, Nikolai, repress their emotions in order to remain happy. Frankl and Mustapha Mond both believe in happiness, disagree on
whether or not there should be distance from reality, and Frankl also disagrees with Ivan on how suffering should not be ignored. ... Show more content on

B. Main point II: Kindness reflects leadership quality because it teaches leader how to lead and take initiatives.
Orly Wahba, CEO of Life Vest Inside, once said that a small act of kindness shows that we have a power to make a change like a leader (TED Talk, 2014). It
also demonstrates that we push ourselves out of our comfort zone and take actions to help others (TED Talk, 2014).
She emphasizes that our kind actions, big or small, prove that we want to take charge and make the world become a better place (TED Talk, 2014). And that, in
her opinion (also mine), kindness is such a simple, valuable quality which demonstrates a powerful role, a leader (TED Talk, 2014).
Transition: I want to you take these two points and understand them through my story and my perception.

The neglect of our dying friendship
We, what is remaining of the Jedi Council; find that the misconduct of Anakin Skywalker s crimes against the Jedi to be horrendous crimes against the galactic

this to be Self evident. I have watch Anakin grow up for most of my adult life. When we first made acquaintance, he was just an innocent boy; living on
Tataouine. From there, we grew together to become more like brothers. It sickens me to figure out that he has joined the dark side. As time perpetuated, Anakin

Galaxy with him. Beholden to this new information he began to scheme with the Chancellor. It began with the killing of my fellow Jedi brother, Mace Windu.
Learning this, I knew I must forgive Anakin because it would not be the Jedi way to do so. However, he would continue further on the same path. He would go
on working with the chancellor with destroying the foundations of the galactic republic. He did not try to intervene when the chancellor ordered the execution
of all Jedi. Even with this, I still had high doubts that Anakin was a part of this coup. I began to start having great doubts towards Anakin when a hologram

The Acknowledging Language
Acknowledging Language The Turing test is, at bottom, about the act of communications (Christian), writes Brian Christian in a 2011 issue of The Atlantic. He
titled his article: Man vs Machine. First introduced by Alan Turing in 1957 as the Imitation Game, the Turing test has since grown in fame and controversy.
However, the Turing test is not fundamentally about knocking humanity off its pedestal of intelligence; it is actually an observation about our human ability to
communicate about intelligence to each other. While language is not sufficient proof of intelligence, communication is fundamental to how people
acknowledge each other as intelligent beings. Turing began by proposing the question, Can machines think? (Turing 433). However, instead of answering this
question directly, he remade the problem into the form of a test, one that he called, the imitation game (Turing 433). Turing s game was played with three
people, a man (A), a woman (B), and an interrogator (C) who may be of either sex where A pretends to be B and B pretends to be A in individual conversations
with C (Turing 433). Then, as a substitute for the original question, Turing suggests that we ask, What will happen when a ... Show more content on

As explicitly stated by Turing, the test is meant to be a substitution for the question. When talking about the implications of passing the test, he states that these
questions replace our original question of Can machines think? (Turing 434). There is no suggestion that passing the Turing test has any answers for the
original question. In fact, Turing found the question of about machine thinking too meaningless to deserve discussion (Turing 442), pointing out that the
muddled and varying definitions of the words machine and thinking would confound the question and constrict the answer to be sought in a statistical survey
such as a Gallup poll (Turing

Living Constitution
Is it reasonable to believe that the United States of America should be governed by a document that was written 220 years ago? Is it also reasonable to believe
that the same society that was over two century ago is the same one today? By definition, a Living Constitution is one that evolves, changes over time, and
adapts to new circumstances, without being formally amended. (Strauss) Through the origins of the Constitution, the history on why the Constitution was
written, and the different court cases that has transpired and lead to amendments being added to it will show why the Constitution is considered a living

Constitution, was made for the betterment of particular people who had the power and means to make national changes. One example of why the document is
a living constitution is the thirteenth amendment. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have
been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. (United) This amendment ended slavery in United States
which was not originally part of the founders forethought. With the semi flexibility of the Constitution, enslaved black people were set free from the chains
that bound them physically, but not the chains that bound them mentally. Through the monumental court case Plessy v. Ferguson of 1896 initiated the
establishment of the fourteenth amendment which upheld state racial segregation laws for public facilities under the doctrine of separate but equal. However
this doctrine did not stand for long thus, on May 31, 1955, Warren read the Court s unanimous decision, instructing the states to begin desegregation plans with
all deliberate speed. (Documents) Without the document having the ability to be tweaked, life for black people in America would be even worse than it already

Different Climatic Conditions For Marine Desert Areas
7 Recommendations
7.1 Climatic Condition
Warm dry areas characterized by high temperatures ranging from 40 50 degrees Celsius, with sharp variations in day and night alike and seasonal (summer
winter) temperatures and precipitation (rainfall, snow) which is scarce, unreliable and irregular, but may nevertheless cause severe floods. Winter prevails in
which dust, sand storms and cold winds. The intensity of solar radiation is very high and enhances the radiation emitted from the ground. This climate below
air humidity in general and is healthier than warm moist ground. Different climatic zone scans are distinguished from the desert areas according to their own
geographical characteristics.

Just as there is a need for cooling, there is also a need for negative heating during cold nights in the winter. The construction of the house requires prevention
of various climatic conditions such a heavy radiation coming from the sun as well as the prevention of other conditions such as sandstorms, dust and insects. In
addition, the spread of dust should be prevented and provide proper ventilation, shad and control of buildings and settlements.
Proposed solutions
The Main Points:
Provide a maximum of shielding against direct sunlight in the hot season.

The Famous Concept Of Scientific Management
The famous concept of Scientific Management was originated by Frederick W. Taylor few centuries ago. Scientific management is a way of organizing and
administrating the industry with its own system involving rules, methods and policies (Thompson, 1916). His goal was to standardize and connect all the
current improvements in industrial organization and to push it further according to his concept (Thompson, 1914). His work later gave inspiration to many
researches from other fields (Wren, 2011). On the other hand, Elton Mayo research later on the Hawthorne Experiment has deviated the industrial psychology
from what relates the worker s relationship to his job instead to workers prioritizing work relations and attitude (Cubbon, 1969). Elton Mayo then develops the
concept of Human Relations by studying the workers in groups instead of how Taylor did by studying workers as individual. Through this, he noticed workers
prefer working in groups and it even increases the productivity of the work place. (Ionescu Negrusa, 2013).
According to Scientific management, workers were assumed to be passive and reluctant to put in all their effort without the interference of the management.
They also try to minimise and even avert responsibility (Hekman, 2002). Besides, it is inferred that workers have cooperation dilemma where some workers
try to disadvantage their own colleagues by doing less work but still earning the same profit, known also as the soldiering behaviour (Wagner Tsukamoto,

Polar Bear Challenges
Polar bear is the largest land carnivore in the world, it is an animal native to the Arctic. They live without definite residence but migrate across the ice and
through the seas from Russia to Alaska, Canada to Greenland and onto the Svalbard archipelago. Adequate food and energy are the key for polar bear to
survival in the harsh arctic environment. In recent years, however, the polar bears have faced enormous challenges in arctic, where they have no natural enemy.
It is well known that the normal temperature of human body is around 36.5 degree centigrade, sometimes, sudden illness causes a rise in body temperature.
Every sudden increase in temperature of human body is a threat to human health. The same is happening with the global climate system. On the surface, the
temperature is just a fraction of degree centigrade but the air temperature can be changed very severe during a certain period and it also causes a chain reaction
of weather and climate. The Intergovernmental panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that since the industrial revolution, the average temperatures of Earth
surface has risen by 0.6 degree centigrade (Lisa V. Alexander). Moreover, the rise in temperature is concentrated in recent decades, there has been an upward
trend of about 0.2 degrees Celsius per decade. Global warming has already affecting the Earth s ecosystems. The polar bear was the first species be listed as a
threatened species in the US under the Endangered Species because of the threats

it near the playground. Whenever we have free time, my friends and I spent some time and enjoyed each other company in this place. We were like kids who
used to feel so much fun to play in the swing and seesaw. After that, we prepared ourselves in the first activity, which was to harvest rice crops in the field.
Around two in the afternoon, we started to walk and straightly went to the farm field without wearing our slippers. Initially, everyone felt uncomfortable
because of the heat from the sun. There was a man who guided and taught us the proper handling in the tool, which we used through for harvesting the rice
grain. It was a great experience, I realized that the farmers really sacrifice themselves just to provide rice that is very important in our daily meal, and I really

Jeannette Rankin
Moral Courage Hero
Jeanette Rankin
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Jeannette Rankin believed, What one decides to do in crisis depends on one s philosophy of life, and that philosophy cannot be changed by an incident. If one
hasn t any philosophy in crises, others make the decision (Lewis, 2011). This quote introduces us to the life of an amazing woman who dedicated her life to the
rights of women, children, blue collar workers, veterans and most importantly peace. Many times in this paper, Jeanette s own quotes will serve as the voice of
her moral courage. Born in an era of limited women s rights, Jeannette Rankin challenged conventional thought about the influence and power of a woman.

Environment
An important factor in shaping Jeannette was being born in Missoula, Montana. It is important to this report to understand the community where Jeannette
grew up. It was a factor in the formation of her worldviews. John and Olive settled in a beautiful area of the Missoula valley called Grant Creek. Even to today,
Grant Creek is a lush, tranquil setting that has a quiet sense of Jeannette s world 130 years ago. Again, Lewis and Clark had visited the Missoula valley only 75
years before Jeannette was born. It was a vibrant, diverse community. John Rankin was amongst its first settlers and treated the local Native Americans as he
would any other neighbor.
At that time, there was enough for everyone; poverty was a distant concept. Anyone who wanted to work and thrive could do so. This was where Jeannette
formed her perspective of how the world can be. The relative equality that existed was a given right to all. Even today, Missoula is a liberal community with a
high level of acceptance of diversity and free thought. Jeanette was among the first generation of non Native Americans born to this valley.
Socially, a significant issue affecting Montana at the time of Jeanette s formative young adult years was the rise of the labor unions. Butte, a major mining
center, had just formed a Miners Union. This created wide divisions in politics around the state. This would have a great impact on Jeannette s eventual

Second Circuit Conjunctive Analysis Essay
Since Frank Lyon, the Circuit Courts have been divided on how to apply the two prong test of the economic substance doctrine. The inconsistency is reflected
in the current and ongoing STARS transaction cases. Each circuit has chosen a different path pertaining to the test. The Second Circuit applies a flexible
unitary analysis. The Federal Circuit applies a conjunctive analysis but takes a different approach from the Second Circuit in applying the objective prong of
the test. The Eighth Circuit also applies the conjunctive test and also applies the objective prong differently. Finally, the First Circuit applies a disjunctive
analysis.
Alongside similar facts, the courts faced a common key question in analyzing the objective prong in the STARS cases: whether the relevant transaction created
a reasonable opportunity for profit exclusive of the tax benefits claimed.
BNY explicitly included the foreign taxes paid by the U.S. bank as part of the costs of the transaction, despite authority that both U.S. taxes and foreign taxes
should be ignored in the evaluation of pretax profitability. However, BNY and Salem did not include income from the Bx payment in their analysis of
profitability because they had characterized that payment as a tax effect. Santander took the opposite approach. It concluded that the Bx payment was not a tax
rebate and therefore treated it as income for purposes of the profitability analysis, resulting in a determination that the satisfied the objective prong

The Battle Of The Marine Corps Community Service Website...
When it comes to intervening in a dangerous situation, most people are too afraid to stand up for what is right. There are some clear steps as to how to
intervene in a dangerous situation such as sexual assault. According to the Marine Corps Community Service website article,( Master The Three D s To
Bystander Intervention ) Bystander intervention is one of the most effective ways to prevent sexual assault. There are 3 D s that help an individual intervene in
a dangerous situation. According to the article, the three D s are To delegate, direct, and to distract.
The first step in intervening or preventing a dangerous situations is to delegate. For example, if someone has too much to drink, let a bartender or another party
goer know that a person has had too much to drink and that they need to make sure no one takes advantage of them. By delegated you are making sure that the
intoxicated individual is taken care of by one person or more. When you have more than one person checking in on an individual you are ensuring that the
individual is taken care of. Sometimes delegation doesn t only just apply in dangerous situations like sexual assault, but sometimes dangerous situations in a
workplace environment. In the medical field, nurses often delegate certain tasks within their team when a person is coding and may die. This helps the nurse
because he or she is not taking the sole responsibility to save a person s life. The Fact of the matter is the more people that are

Presentation- Carbon Fibre in Tennis Rackets Script
Intro
Hi, I m going to be talking about Carbon fibre in tennis rackets
What I will cover in the next ten minutes is this.
I will talk you through what Carbon fibre is, its atomic structure, properties which then makes it the ideal material for modern tennis rackets.
What is Carbon fibre?
Carbon fibre consist of tiny filament about 5 8 mu metres in diameter. Carbon fibre mostly contains carbon bonds which are bonded together in a crystal
Alignment. This means there are strong covalent bonds between the molecules. Being in its crystal alignment, this gives carbon fibre a high to strength to
volume ratio which basically means it strong for its size.
For example if you could make a tow from several thousand of carbon fibres bundled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The stiffness is high due to the carbon fibre reinforment. But it is fairly light, and fit for someone like me.
As it is for advanced player with a large swing it needs to be pretty aerodynamic. The tension can go up to 62 lb which definitely gives it more control and
feel. With the weight the power is medium.

Apparently, this is part of a dirty joke that involved them slipping in a dirty word without anyone noticing.

The Accounting Principles Of Accounting
Introduction
Measurement of accounting elements is the most significant factors that entail the process of preparing financial statements. Accounting measurements
presents the vital economic objectives for various accounting entities (Horngren, 2009). Fair value refers to a financial reporting approach operating under the
accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This accounting method is also referred to as Mark market accounting practice. In united Sates majority of the public

actual or the estimated current fair market prices (Barth, 2014). It is evident that any changes that occur in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, fair value entails the replacement and also the cost of substitutes. For instance, the fair value of an asset is expressed as the given amount at which a
specified asset is bought and sold in the current transaction involving willing parties, other than in the process of liquidation. On the other side, when dealing
with a company s balance sheet, the fair value of liability is the state at which the liability is likely to be incurred or settled in the agreed transaction between
various willing parties. In this case, if the fair value is available, the quoted market price in the given active market remains the best evidence of the fair value,
and it is usually expressed as the basis for the measurement. In any active market, fair value is more liquid with small bids which makes the difference between
the sell and the product purchase prices. Fair value is different from the carrying value in that; the carrying value is expressed as the current asset or liability
value commonly based on the company s balance sheet, while the fair value of an asset or liability is mostly expressed as the market to market value different
from the carrying value which accounts to the figures of the particular asset on the company s balance sheet. Estimates of company s fair value are made using
either the quoted market price or using the best information available in a given circumstance (Barlev Haddad, 2013).). If the two factors are not available,

New York s Fresh Kills Landfill
The city that never sleeps also happens to be a city that has an enormous garbage problem that it needs to solve. Whether this problem it be due to a
mismanagement of resources from the beginning or stemming from the throw away culture of today, New York is in a situation where its trash is piling up and
it s pawning it off on others to discard of it. New York City, like most cities across the United Sates utilizes landfills to dispose of their waste. Fresh Kills
Landfill opened in 1948 and was only intended to be a temporary landfill used for 20 years, however by 1955 it became the largest landfill in the world as it
was turned into New York s primary dumping ground for the second half of the 20th century. At the peak of operation Fresh Kills was receiving twenty barges
carry 650 tons of waste each and every day. In March of 2001 Fresh Kills reached capacity and with the urging of the United States Environmental Protection
Agency and local residents it was shut down. That left a big question for the Department of Sanitation as to what to do with New York City and its surrounding
boroughs trash? (Fresh Kills Park Alliance) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, garbage is collected with highly polluting diesel fueled trucks and then that garbage is brought to transfer stations where the waste is then sorted and
transported to another solid waste management facility for further processing, treatment, transfer or disposal. This process is again handled using highly
polluting diesel fueled trucks that ship it to landfills and waste to energy incinerators in other states. The long term plan introduced is to reduce costs
drastically increasing recycling which in turn will reduce waste and to build a waterfront transfer system in order to be less dependent upon the highly
polluting diesel trucks and use barges hauling containers to ship garbage and also trains to transfer the waste. (Transfer

Winston Churchill Was A British Statesman
Winston Churchill was born on November 30, 1874, in Dublin, Ireland. His father, Lord Randolph Churchill, was a British statesman. His own father, John
Spencer Churchill, was the 7th Duke of Marlborough. Churchill s mother, Jeanette Jerome, was a New York socialite. A socialite is somehow who is well
known and thought of among the upper class for attending large social gatherings such as parties or fund raising events on a regular basis.
In the early years of Churchill s schooling, he was quite unruly and did badly in his first two schools. In the spring of 1888, he was sent to Harrow School,
which was a boarding school near London, England. After a very short time there, he joined the Rifle Corps. This action led to the beginning of his own
military career. One of the first steps to becoming an official member of the British military was to pass an exam for the British Royal Military College. He
took the acceptance exam three times before finally passing it. At the end of his time there, he graduated 20th out of 130 in his class and was believed to have
been a solid member of the college while there.
Churchill s relationship with his parents was distant and almost based off of their own reputations, rather than him actually knowing his parents extremely
well. He wrote letters to his mother while in college, begging her to visit him, but she rarely did. Duke John Spencer Churchill passed away when Winston
Churchill was only twenty one. It s often believed

Geography of Bliss
The Geography of Bliss
In 2008 Eric Weiner wrote and published the book The Geography of Bliss, one grump s search for the happiest places in the world. This paper describes Mr.
Weiner s search for happiness over the course of a year, traveling through ten very different countries, including our own land America. His search has sent
him through the darkest corners of the world to the brightest and busiest places of all. Places that possess, in spades, one or more of the ingredients that we
consider essential to the hearty stew of happiness: money, pleasure, spirituality, family, and chocolate, among others (pg. 2).

In harsh climates, we need each other. Weiner observed that there did not seem to be much envy in Iceland, everyone seems to be an artist of some kind, and
the relationship Icelanders have with their language and the joy they get from it. They also loved their large quantities of alcohol but only on the weekends. It
is difficult to argue with such sturdy, Nordic logic (pg.145). Iceland, can obtain national bliss easier than huge countries such as the U.S. It seems like people
have more trust in each other therefore peace and happiness and sometimes drunkenness, is able to run wild without a care in the world.
Weiner decided to visit and experience the most miserable place of all time, Moldova. Moldova compares themselves to the richer countries even though they
have absolutely no wealth. They also had no nationalism to fall back on after the Russian empire collapsed. The people are neither Russian nor Moldovan.
They exist in a nether world of no identity or culture. How can you feel good about yourself if you don t know who you are? There seems to be a lack of regard
for trust and friendship in Moldova and proves that if you have no culture and no community then you will become hopeless. Their unhappiness breeds
mistrust, which breeds more unhappiness, which leads to more mistrust. (Pg. 211). Happiness is definitely somewhere else and probably in their vegetables
and their fruit since that s the only good thing about that country.

Perseverance Reflection
When I first started to think about what the theme of my lesson was going to be, I immediately thought about my preschool and pre k students that I work with
on a daily basis. What are they learning now? What are some important concepts in life that haven t been taught in depth? What concept can be difficult to
comprehend without implementing drama? These were just some of the many questions that were going through my head. When I first came across the book
The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Speirs, I immediately was captured by the theme of perseverance in the book. The week that I found the book, I had
been working with a student who was trying to complete a puzzle and she was getting frustrated. I sat down with her and encouraged her to continue trying and
with a little help she completed the puzzle. The look on her face when she completed that puzzle was electrifying. She was so excited and so proud of herself
when she finally fit that last piece into the puzzle. This experience helped me when choosing the topic of my monologue because when I came across the book,
I realized that the concept of perseverance would be a perfect concept to teach through the integration of drama. One reason, I felt like the integration of drama
would be so useful in teaching this concept was that many students are probably able to comprehend the definition of perseverance, but what does
perseverance look like? How does it feel when you persevere? That is where I thought integrating drama

RFID, or Radio Frequency Identification, is becoming the new technology through which data can automatically be collected and transferred, along with the
capability of tracking assets such as inventory, machinery, or even people. RFID readers collect, store, and relay important data to other application systems,
and receives this information from RFID tags. The two types of RFID tags are active and passive. Active RFIDs use power and can broadcast signals to the

Hospitals are finding all kinds of uses for RFID systems in order to improve safety and save money long term. Many of these same uses can be applied
elsewhere as well. For our senior project, RFIDs will be put to use in a very similar way as hospitals have started to do so. We plan to use active and passive

Another huge, relevant problem that began budding under the presidency of Ronald Reagan was mass incarceration. Incarceration rates rose quickly during his

people imprisoned. From a mere 338,029 in 1970, the figures rose to a shocking 2,042,479 in 2001 according to the information supplied by Dr. Barrett. In the
document Why Mass Incarceration Matters by Heather Ann Thompson, it states that Between
1970 and 2010 more people were incarcerated in the United States than were imprisoned in any other country. What was not surprising was the fact that
African Americans once again were the ones who were the most unfortunate, recording the highest imprisonment rate among all races and sexes. The numbers
before the 1960s do not even compare to the numbers following. For example, numbers taken from the document show that 35 years before the 1960s, the
number of American people imprisoned had increased by 52,249 people. However, the 35 years after, the same group had increased by a drastic 1,266,2435.
Even with the massive numbers documented in statistics of the numbers of American citizens incarcerated, historians have ignored this integral piece of the
post war period and failed to recognize its impact. For example, mass incarceration had a direct effect on how thriving American urban centers became full of

The Influence Of Beauty In Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye
Beauty is not always skin deep. Although many first impressions are based off of appearance, what really counts is what is on the inside. In The Bluest Eye by
Toni Morrison influences from propaganda and other people affect the confidence of the characters. The people of color during this time long to be just as
accepted as the white people. Racism and discrimination are still apparent during this time and crushes the confidence of the African American youth. A
common misconception is that beauty and skin color results in complete acceptance and happiness. Propaganda during this time focusses on portraying
beautiful white people with blonde hair and blue eyes. In Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye, society s concept of beauty negatively affects Pauline s perception
of beauty, and Pecola s opinions of her own self beauty. Society s view of what true beauty is dramatically alters Pauline Breedlove s personal opinion of what

Biological Macromolecule Polyhydroxybutyrate ( Phb )
ABSTRACT
The important biological macromolecule polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) producing Bacillus subtilis was isolated from the sewage sample and identified by means
of 16S rRNA analysis. The renewable nature and biodegradability of PHBs make them suitable materials to replace synthetic plastics in many applications.
Currently their production is expensive, but these plastics are only in their first stage of commercial development. In the present study the physico chemical
parameters such as Time, Temperature and pH were optimized for increased production of PHB. It was found that maximum production of PHB was observed
at 48th hour (328µg/ml) of incubation time, temperature 370C (336µg/ml), pH 7.5 (362 µg/ml). The low cost production media was developed using fruit peel
extract and sugarcane industrial waste. The amount of PHB produced using low cost production media in fruit peel (234µg/ml) and industrial waste
(218µg/ml). The PHB was characterized using FTIR and NMR analysis.

Analysis Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Introduction What s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. This quote from Shakespeare is from the balcony
scene when Juliet tells Romeo that his name is meaningless and that he is still a handsome young man and that only their family names are enemies. This same
quote can be applied in today s society in how people address each other based on different situations, especially when addressing women. There are many
different titles that can be used to address women as opposed to men, but despite the title used, the woman herself does not change. Only the meaning and
stereotype associated with the title used changes.
Throughout the years, the titles used to address women have slowly shifted meaning from that of a social status to that of a marital status. Erickson (2014)
explains that the titles Miss and Mrs. are the oldest coined terms used to address women, and both of them derive from the title Mistress. Both titles were
generally only used for those of higher power and status. Miss described young girls while Mrs. , described women who had governed subjects, was skilled, or
who taught. Upon reaching adulthood, a Miss became a Mrs. , and according to the Oxford English Dictionary, it was common for older, unmarried women to
still use the title Mrs. so they could increase their standing to be on par with married women. This was why sometimes this referred to as a title of politeness or
courtesy title. But by the

The Old Testament Essay
Introduction
The Old Testament can be very hard for many people to look to for guidance. The difficulty often comes because the questions they have in today s society
may not relate to the Old Testament. Much biblical scholarship is narrowly historical critical and does not seek to draw out the ethical theological dimensions
of the text. (297) Pastors have the task of relating the Old Testament to today s problems and it can be quite a challenge. Addressing moral issues is a difficult
issue that pastors are faced with when addressing them through the Old Testament. This article addresses many factors that contribute to pastors not effectively
addressing morals because of the complexity of relating them to Old Testament context.
Article Summary
Terence E. Fretheim speaks from a perspective that shows the challenges that pastors face in regard to morality in today s society and how it compares to the
Old Testament. He points out that pastors often overlook these aspects:
1. Our world raises many ethical issues that the Bible does not reference. 2. Scripture works with many perspectives that have little if any pertinence to today s
world, from the treatment of women and slaves to serve punishments. 3. The Old Testament especially is thought to be problematic ethically and hence is less
helpful than the New Testament, through New Testament violence finally exceeds that of the Old Testament. 4. Questions arise about the authority and
consequent use of the Bible.

Benefit Of Artificial Technology
Today we are living in a second renaissance, because of the wide spread of knowledge about our world. With knowledge spreading like fire, new and better
technology has transformed our society, such as communication, transportation, and weaponry systems. Through the field of engineering, now AI (known as
artificial intelligence) is next in line to transform our society. In the American society robots have taken a bad rap, because of the belief that robots will take
over jobs. Negative views over artificial intelligence can be even seen in movies such as The Terminator . But however the truth about artificial intelligence is
that it is beneficial for the future of our society because it will create new and better jobs, it also will better our living conditions, and will impact the power of
America in our world. Making artificial intelligence better and smarter in America will benefit us because it will create better and new jobs. It is true that new
artificial intelligence technology will displace jobs, but however by taking away laborious jobs, it will forge a movement of new companies and help
Americans pursue enjoyable jobs that are made. For example, CEO of Narrative Science, Stuart Frankel, said Look at almost every technology job that exists
in any enterprise today. None of those jobs existed twenty years ago, and most of them probably didn t even exist ten years ago. . What Stuart Frankel said is
true, looking at employment today new technology has created more

Narrative Essay About The First Day Of School
Ahh , Ronnie yawns, as he gets up for his first day of school. The door creeks open as his mom peeks inside to check if Ronnie is awake.
His mom in her calm soothing voice asks, Are you excited for your first day of school? Ronnie sees in his mother s eyes that she herself was excited for him to
start middle school.
Ronnie replies, Not really. He was, however, excited to see his friends that he hasn t seen since summer break. Ronnie gets up and dresses up in the best outfit
he could find to impress his friends. While walking down stairs Ronnie smells the air. Mmm blueberry pancakes, my favorite Ronnie says as he sniffs the air
with delightment.
His mom rarely makes blueberry pancakes, so Ronnie takes full advantage of this and devours the squishy dough with the juicy blueberries until he was
satisfied. Ronnie s dad comes downstairs and asked in his very low voice Are you ready to go to school?
Trying to chew the last of the pancakes, he replied, Yeah . So he grabs his backpack from the seat next to him.
But before they leave his mom kisses him on the cheek and says Have a good day sweetie! They opened the door, Ronnie waved bye to his mom and off to
school they went.
During the car ride his dad asks him loads of question such as, Are you excited or Do you have all of your stuff so Ronnie just played along and answered his
questions. When they arrived, Ronnie scanned the campus for his friends. As he s scanning, his friends Joseph and Eddie sneaks

Permanent And Temporary Components Of Stock Prices Using...
This paper reexamines the permanent and temporary components of stock prices using the vector error correction estimation method. Fama and French (1988)
show that a slow mean reverting component adjusts stock prices by constructing decile portfolios by firm size. In this context, I would like to propose the
model that able to consider dynamic time varying component and long term stable component at the same time. 1. Introduction Fama and French (1988)
introduce that there is a slow mean reverting of stock prices, and the speed of mean reverting for smaller firms is faster. This is the same idea that no one can
obtain excess return using historical prices patterns, under the market efficiency. This is because all stocks have permanent component, which is the random
walk and drift, and temporary component, which is the stationary error term, in their model. Thus, prices will be slowly decayed a temporary component when
it moves far away from the mean. In this study, I follow their fundamental idea that stock prices have permanent and temporary components under the market
efficiency. However, I would like to employ the vector error correction model to capture the permanent equilibrium component and the temporary dynamic
component with a long period of panel data, rather than generating yearly returns by each decile portfolio. The major benefit of the vector error correction
estimation method is that we can directly compare the speed of adjustment between permanent

The Pros And Cons Of Human Cloning
At least 95% of mammalian cloning experiment have resulted in failure in form of miscarriages, stillbirths, and also life threatening anomalies ( Reproductive
Cloning Arguments Pro and Con ) Reproductive cloning is inherently unsafe. Human cloning is a genetically identical copy of a living organism . The whole
reason for human cloning is used to process by which a person s DNA is used to grow an embryonic clone.
There was a fertility doctor that so called claim she is the first in the world to implant a cloned human inside a woman. She started to whole process and failed
and the woman did not become pregnant. She did some modifications to it, but still end up failing to clone an embryonic cell. Congress had made their
decision in reproductive cloning, the making of babies there is in essence genetic replicas of adults is both immoral and unsafe and should be banned. Many
scientists from Duke University believe that in the future human cloning would involve over many failures. They are a lot of controversy that human cloning
should not be permitted at all, no scientists had successfully completed human cloning, there is no possible way you can make a replica of a human without
having some complication with the woman s body.
Human cloning is unsafe, risky way of cloning a human inside a woman s body. Also how human cloning is a threat to society scientist who are trying to

A Double Life Essay
In Howards End we see the outer and inner worlds the prose and the passion, disconnected, but still existing within the same space. Although the material
Wilcoxs and cerebral Schlegels seemingly come from different worlds, their alignment is ultimately a matter of personal connection. Yet, just about sixty years
prior in Karolina Pavlova s A Double Life we see the same two worlds existing in separate spaces entirely prose in the waking life, poetry within Cecily s
dreams. One explanation for this is that of Konstantin Askakov, in his introduction to Pavlova s novella. For him, the prose represents the outer, frivolous
emptiness of everyday high society; the poetry, the voice of Cecily s soul. Cecily s dreams then represent an inner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Suddenly his previous characterization no longer stands; suddenly it is clear he was described as an outcast because he has access to this higher meaning in a
way his audience might not. It s worth again making explicit that the previously established form of the novella breaks down here. Not only does poetry briefly
inhabit the waking life, but so too does the higher meaning it has come to represent. But what s important here is not only that the narrative structure is broken
here, but who breaks it: the male poet. One explanation for this is a matter of difference in class. That is, the poet has access precisely because he did not grow
up under the circumstances of high society, while Cecily s social status renders her incapable of having depth. Yet, the version of Cecily we see in her dreams
does not support this reading; even in the presence of poetry she retains her social identity, and is even warned of her swaddled (51) upbringing. Rather, the
relevant distinguishing feature between Cecily and the poet is that he is a man. While male poets may be seen as lower class or even unrespectable, women
who pursue poetry are seen as pitiable, and as having a dangerous illness (60). In short: poetry is not an option, and thus not even a consideration for women.
There is perhaps something to be said that the women are shown

Spirits Homecoming
Based on the true story of Kang Il Chul, a comfort woman, the completion and screening of Spirits Homecoming was a triumph on itself, as you can read here.
The script moves on two axes: The first one takes place in 1943, during Japanese Occupation of Korea. 14 year old Jung min lives a poor but happy life with
her parents in the countryside. Her life changes radically for the worse, when she is picked by the Japanese army to act as a comfort woman for the soldiers, as
the authorities picked this way to comfort the stressed soldiers of the front. As her life becomes a living hell, with the beating and raping being an everyday
occurrence, she manages to make friend, Jung min. Evenutally, along with some other girls, she tries to escape. The second axis takes place in 1991, where an
older Jing min works as a tailor. One of her clients is the chief priest of a temple, where the newest members is a medium, Eun kyeong. The young girl, who
has fallen victim to rape, seems to be able to communicate with Jung min. Two radically different axes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first one, he depicts the horror of the conditions of the comfort girls lives in the most graphic and cruel fashion. The grotesque sense is heightened even
more by the almost constant sound of screaming and beatings, as Cho paints Japanese soldiers with the darkest colors, since the act like animals, with only one
exception among them. This recurring theme is exemplified in an artfully photographed sequence, with a panoramic take that shows the terrible things that
occur in all of the small rooms in the building, simultaneously. There are some scenes that are quite beautiful, as the ones in the beginning where Jung min
rides in the back of her father s bike and the one where the girls are sitting over a kind of pond and sing, but the general sense is truly horrific, as it is

Air Driven Engine Project Report
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
At first glance the idea of running an engine on air seems to be too good to be true. Actually, if we can make use of air as an aid for running an engine it is a
fantastic idea. As we all know, air is all around us, it never runs out, it is non polluting and it is free.
An Air Driven Engine makes use of Compressed Air Technology for its operation. Compressed Air Technology is now widely preferred for research by
different industries for developing different drives for different purposes. The Compressed Air Technology is quite simple. If we compress normal air into a
cylinder the air would hold some energy within it. This energy can be utilized for useful purposes. When this compressed air expands, the energy is ... Show

Fig. 2.1 working of two stroke engine
There are no traditional valves in a two stroke engine. In a two stroke the engines fires once every revolution. This makes the engine highly efficient and
lightweight compared to four stroke systems. Rather than entering through valves, the fuel/air mixture enters through an intake port and exhaust exits out of an
exhaust port. In place of traditional valves the two stroke engine uses the piston s position to force out exhaust or suck in fuel mixture.
Reeds are vital to a two stroke system. The reeds are placed between the intake manifold and the carburetor, open and close to allow the fuel / air mixture to
enter the case of the engine and trap it, and ensure the proper exchange of gasses in the engine. This procedure might sound complex, but it is, in fact,
extremely effective and easy to understand.
The whole cycle can be explained as follows:
1) As the piston moves from bottom dead center to top dead center it creates a vaccum to draw the fuel / air mixture through the carburetor and past the reed
valve assembly.
2) The piston moves down from top dead center to bottom dead center. The reed closes, causing the pressure to build in the cylinder. The movement of the
piston uncovers the intake port and pressurized the fuel / air mixture.
3) The piston now moves up from bottom dead center to top dead center, effectively ending a cycle and starting another. The spark plug

  • 2. Gender Stereotypes On Children Gender stereotypes affect children substantially. From the baby boy in blue with trucks and action figures to the baby girl in pink with dolls and princesses, these roles and generalizations affect children s personalities while they are still developing. Those guiltiest of stereotyping in children s media are Disney, Nintendo and other video game companies, and reality television. These influences are expansive, and they reach past elementary age kids to teenagers. Stereotypes negatively impact children of all ages through these forms of media, and parents need to be aware of this. Disney, and the princess brand in particular, enforces gender stereotypes on young girls. Monika Bartyzel, free lance writer and mother, accuses Disney princesses of inflicting stereotypes on her daughter. Bartyzel says that her daughter does not run or jump, because it is not ... When these things embody femininity and become the expectations of all women, then they are problematic. Liechty also says that characters such as Snow White and Cinderella are admirable for remaining nice, despite bad people trying to hurt them. Again, she has a point: princesses do teach girls to treat others with respect, but their respect would take them further if it was reciprocated. Liechty s final arguments involve men: what is wrong with not being happy without a man, and why is it bad that boys are taught to be gallant and courteous? The answers to both are simple. Firstly, there is a difference between loving a person enough that their loss would ruin one s life, and losing one s value because there is no longer male attention to validate it. Secondly, the example princes set for boys are good ones, but with gender roles declaring princess movies to be a girly thing, most boys may not be exposed to these positive role ... • 4. Young Godman Brown Principle Of Faith Principle of Faith Young Godman Brown is a prime example of the dark romantism and illustrates in a very straightforward way a principle of faith. Nathaniel Hawthorne was an American novelist of the beginning of the 19th century. At one point in life, he discovered the true about his father he thought to be deeply religious man of pure heart. John Hathorne was not only a judge involved in witch trial he also never repented for his actions. His novel Young Godman Brown is clearly a deeply personal reaction to this revelation. Godman is an ordinary man, same as every other American, leading a rightful life that would get him to heaven. He is married to a woman aptly named Faith that represents not only purity of his whole world but also his way to heaven, his belief in the goodness in everyone and the faith itself. It s almost night and Godman sets to a mysterious journey, leaving his wife alone for an unknown, important but evil errand. The distance between Young Godman and faith, both literally and figuratively, grows with every line. It starts with his wife s nightmare: as if a dream had warned her what work is to be done tonight and her fears, continue with a parting kiss and a longing, worried gaze. So while Godman remains clueless, it is becoming more and more clear, where the book is heading and will eventually end. From the moment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hazlitt begins his monumental book by describing the problems with economic science, showing that its fallacies are greatly exacerbated compared to other scientific fields because of special interests in government. The special interest groups consistently advocate policies that they benefit from at the expense of everyone else. Many people, however, believe these fallacies because of man s nature to see only the immediate effects of a given policy, or its effects only on a special group. Those people neglect the long term effects and the implications on other groups by an economic policy. Hazlitt goes on to explain that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Considering the role of government in lending and the overlap on taxation, Private lenders are more stringent in their lending policies and, consequently, have to turn down some high risk borrowers. The government is willing to lend these borrowers the money they need for capital to carry out their businesses. These borrowers will then be able to acquire the resources they need to produce what they need. What is overlooked at this point is the fact that, because these high risk borrowers were able to get what could have been acquired by low risk borrowers from private lenders, the resources ended up in the hands of less efficient producers who may not be as productive as the producers who qualified for private lending. Furthermore, high risk borrowers get the money from the taxpayers and taxpayers can not fet benefit from this lending and this means the practice to the benefit of a few at the expense of everyone else. He titled his article: Man vs Machine. First introduced by Alan Turing in 1957 as the Imitation Game, the Turing test has since grown in fame and controversy. However, the Turing test is not fundamentally about knocking humanity off its pedestal of intelligence; it is actually an observation about our human ability to communicate about intelligence to each other. While language is not sufficient proof of intelligence, communication is fundamental to how people acknowledge each other as intelligent beings. Turing began by proposing the question, Can machines think? (Turing 433). However, instead of answering this question directly, he remade the problem into the form of a test, one that he called, the imitation game (Turing 433). Turing s game was played with three people, a man (A), a woman (B), and an interrogator (C) who may be of either sex where A pretends to be B and B pretends to be A in individual conversations with C (Turing 433). • 16. The Famous Concept Of Scientific Management The famous concept of Scientific Management was originated by Frederick W. Taylor few centuries ago. Scientific management is a way of organizing and administrating the industry with its own system involving rules, methods and policies (Thompson, 1916). His goal was to standardize and connect all the current improvements in industrial organization and to push it further according to his concept (Thompson, 1914). His work later gave inspiration to many researches from other fields (Wren, 2011). On the other hand, Elton Mayo research later on the Hawthorne Experiment has deviated the industrial psychology from what relates the worker s relationship to his job instead to workers prioritizing work relations and attitude (Cubbon, 1969). Elton Mayo then develops the concept of Human Relations by studying the workers in groups instead of how Taylor did by studying workers as individual. Through this, he noticed workers prefer working in groups and it even increases the productivity of the work place. (Ionescu Negrusa, 2013). According to Scientific management, workers were assumed to be passive and reluctant to put in all their effort without the interference of the management. They also try to minimise and even avert responsibility (Hekman, 2002). Besides, it is inferred that workers have cooperation dilemma where some workers try to disadvantage their own colleagues by doing less work but still earning the same profit, known also as the soldiering behaviour (Wagner Tsukamoto, ... The inconsistency is reflected in the current and ongoing STARS transaction cases. Each circuit has chosen a different path pertaining to the test. The Second Circuit applies a flexible unitary analysis. The Federal Circuit applies a conjunctive analysis but takes a different approach from the Second Circuit in applying the objective prong of the test. The Eighth Circuit also applies the conjunctive test and also applies the objective prong differently. Finally, the First Circuit applies a disjunctive analysis. Alongside similar facts, the courts faced a common key question in analyzing the objective prong in the STARS cases: whether the relevant transaction created a reasonable opportunity for profit exclusive of the tax benefits claimed. BNY explicitly included the foreign taxes paid by the U.S. bank as part of the costs of the transaction, despite authority that both U.S. taxes and foreign taxes should be ignored in the evaluation of pretax profitability. However, BNY and Salem did not include income from the Bx payment in their analysis of profitability because they had characterized that payment as a tax effect. Santander took the opposite approach. For instance, the fair value of an asset is expressed as the given amount at which a specified asset is bought and sold in the current transaction involving willing parties, other than in the process of liquidation. On the other side, when dealing with a company s balance sheet, the fair value of liability is the state at which the liability is likely to be incurred or settled in the agreed transaction between various willing parties. In this case, if the fair value is available, the quoted market price in the given active market remains the best evidence of the fair value, and it is usually expressed as the basis for the measurement. In any active market, fair value is more liquid with small bids which makes the difference between the sell and the product purchase prices. Fair value is different from the carrying value in that; the carrying value is expressed as the current asset or liability value commonly based on the company s balance sheet, while the fair value of an asset or liability is mostly expressed as the market to market value different from the carrying value which accounts to the figures of the particular asset on the company s balance sheet. Estimates of company s fair value are made using either the quoted market price or using the best information available in a given circumstance (Barlev Haddad, 2013).). Whether this problem it be due to a mismanagement of resources from the beginning or stemming from the throw away culture of today, New York is in a situation where its trash is piling up and it s pawning it off on others to discard of it. New York City, like most cities across the United Sates utilizes landfills to dispose of their waste. What are they learning now? What are some important concepts in life that haven t been taught in depth? What concept can be difficult to comprehend without implementing drama? These were just some of the many questions that were going through my head. When I first came across the book The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Speirs, I immediately was captured by the theme of perseverance in the book. The week that I found the book, I had been working with a student who was trying to complete a puzzle and she was getting frustrated. I sat down with her and encouraged her to continue trying and with a little help she completed the puzzle. The look on her face when she completed that puzzle was electrifying. She was so excited and so proud of herself when she finally fit that last piece into the puzzle. This experience helped me when choosing the topic of my monologue because when I came across the book, I realized that the concept of perseverance would be a perfect concept to teach through the integration of drama. One reason, I felt like the integration of drama would be so useful in teaching this concept was that many students are probably able to comprehend the definition of perseverance, but what does perseverance look like? This quote from Shakespeare is from the balcony scene when Juliet tells Romeo that his name is meaningless and that he is still a handsome young man and that only their family names are enemies. This same quote can be applied in today s society in how people address each other based on different situations, especially when addressing women. There are many different titles that can be used to address women as opposed to men, but despite the title used, the woman herself does not change. Only the meaning and stereotype associated with the title used changes. Throughout the years, the titles used to address women have slowly shifted meaning from that of a social status to that of a marital status. Erickson (2014) explains that the titles Miss and Mrs. are the oldest coined terms used to address women, and both of them derive from the title Mistress. Both titles were generally only used for those of higher power and status. Miss described young girls while Mrs. , described women who had governed subjects, was skilled, or who taught. Upon reaching adulthood, a Miss became a Mrs. , and according to the Oxford English Dictionary, it was common for older, unmarried women to still use the title Mrs. so they could increase their standing to be on par with married women. Fretheim speaks from a perspective that shows the challenges that pastors face in regard to morality in today s society and how it compares to the Old Testament. He points out that pastors often overlook these aspects: 1. Our world raises many ethical issues that the Bible does not reference. 2. Scripture works with many perspectives that have little if any pertinence to today s world, from the treatment of women and slaves to serve punishments. 3. The Old Testament especially is thought to be problematic ethically and hence is less helpful than the New Testament, through New Testament violence finally exceeds that of the Old Testament. 4. I chose the career path of a Preventive Medicine Physician because it seemed to match a lot of the personality traits I already have rather than what the test scored me to have. Preventive Medicine Physicians promote health care to communities, aid in the prevention or reduction of risk of disease, injury, disability, or death. I will need to be knowledge able in medicine and dentistry, therapy and counseling and know laws and information about the government regarding health care. Being in this profession I will need to be able to communicate well as well as listening to understand what people say, be able to make general rules or come up ... • 45. Permanent And Temporary Components Of Stock Prices Using... This paper reexamines the permanent and temporary components of stock prices using the vector error correction estimation method. Fama and French (1988) show that a slow mean reverting component adjusts stock prices by constructing decile portfolios by firm size. In this context, I would like to propose the model that able to consider dynamic time varying component and long term stable component at the same time. 1. Introduction Fama and French (1988) introduce that there is a slow mean reverting of stock prices, and the speed of mean reverting for smaller firms is faster. This is the same idea that no one can obtain excess return using historical prices patterns, under the market efficiency. This is because all stocks have permanent component, which is the random walk and drift, and temporary component, which is the stationary error term, in their model. Thus, prices will be slowly decayed a temporary component when it moves far away from the mean. In this study, I follow their fundamental idea that stock prices have permanent and temporary components under the market efficiency. However, I would like to employ the vector error correction model to capture the permanent equilibrium component and the temporary dynamic component with a long period of panel data, rather than generating yearly returns by each decile portfolio. The major benefit of the vector error correction estimation method is that we can directly compare the speed of adjustment between permanent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. The Pros And Cons Of Human Cloning At least 95% of mammalian cloning experiment have resulted in failure in form of miscarriages, stillbirths, and also life threatening anomalies ( Reproductive Cloning Arguments Pro and Con ) Reproductive cloning is inherently unsafe. Human cloning is a genetically identical copy of a living organism . The whole reason for human cloning is used to process by which a person s DNA is used to grow an embryonic clone. There was a fertility doctor that so called claim she is the first in the world to implant a cloned human inside a woman. She started to whole process and failed and the woman did not become pregnant. She did some modifications to it, but still end up failing to clone an embryonic cell. Congress had made their decision in reproductive cloning, the making of babies there is in essence genetic replicas of adults is both immoral and unsafe and should be banned. Many scientists from Duke University believe that in the future human cloning would involve over many failures. They are a lot of controversy that human cloning should not be permitted at all, no scientists had successfully completed human cloning, there is no possible way you can make a replica of a human without having some complication with the woman s body. Human cloning is unsafe, risky way of cloning a human inside a woman s body. Also how human cloning is a threat to society scientist who are trying to created a cloned child. • 47. A Double Life Essay In Howards End we see the outer and inner worlds the prose and the passion, disconnected, but still existing within the same space. Although the material Wilcoxs and cerebral Schlegels seemingly come from different worlds, their alignment is ultimately a matter of personal connection. Yet, just about sixty years prior in Karolina Pavlova s A Double Life we see the same two worlds existing in separate spaces entirely prose in the waking life, poetry within Cecily s dreams. One explanation for this is that of Konstantin Askakov, in his introduction to Pavlova s novella. For him, the prose represents the outer, frivolous emptiness of everyday high society; the poetry, the voice of Cecily s soul. Cecily s dreams then represent an inner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Suddenly his previous characterization no longer stands; suddenly it is clear he was described as an outcast because he has access to this higher meaning in a way his audience might not. It s worth again making explicit that the previously established form of the novella breaks down here. Not only does poetry briefly inhabit the waking life, but so too does the higher meaning it has come to represent. But what s important here is not only that the narrative structure is broken here, but who breaks it: the male poet. One explanation for this is a matter of difference in class. That is, the poet has access precisely because he did not grow up under the circumstances of high society, while Cecily s social status renders her incapable of having depth. Yet, the version of Cecily we see in her dreams does not support this reading; even in the presence of poetry she retains her social identity, and is even warned of her swaddled (51) upbringing. Rather, the relevant distinguishing feature between Cecily and the poet is that he is a man. While male poets may be seen as lower class or even unrespectable, women who pursue poetry are seen as pitiable, and as having a dangerous illness (60). In short: poetry is not an option, and thus not even a consideration for women. There is perhaps something to be said that the women are shown ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Spirits Homecoming Based on the true story of Kang Il Chul, a comfort woman, the completion and screening of Spirits Homecoming was a triumph on itself, as you can read here. The script moves on two axes: The first one takes place in 1943, during Japanese Occupation of Korea. 14 year old Jung min lives a poor but happy life with her parents in the countryside. Her life changes radically for the worse, when she is picked by the Japanese army to act as a comfort woman for the soldiers, as the authorities picked this way to comfort the stressed soldiers of the front. As her life becomes a living hell, with the beating and raping being an everyday occurrence, she manages to make friend, Jung min. Evenutally, along with some other girls, she tries to escape. The second axis takes place in 1991, where an older Jing min works as a tailor. One of her clients is the chief priest of a temple, where the newest members is a medium, Eun kyeong. The young girl, who has fallen victim to rape, seems to be able to communicate with Jung min. Two radically different axes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The grotesque sense is heightened even more by the almost constant sound of screaming and beatings, as Cho paints Japanese soldiers with the darkest colors, since the act like animals, with only one exception among them. This recurring theme is exemplified in an artfully photographed sequence, with a panoramic take that shows the terrible things that occur in all of the small rooms in the building, simultaneously. There are some scenes that are quite beautiful, as the ones in the beginning where Jung min rides in the back of her father s bike and the one where the girls are sitting over a kind of pond and sing, but the general sense is truly horrific, as it is ... • 49. Air Driven Engine Project Report CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION At first glance the idea of running an engine on air seems to be too good to be true. Actually, if we can make use of air as an aid for running an engine it is a fantastic idea. As we all know, air is all around us, it never runs out, it is non polluting and it is free. An Air Driven Engine makes use of Compressed Air Technology for its operation. Compressed Air Technology is now widely preferred for research by different industries for developing different drives for different purposes. The Compressed Air Technology is quite simple. If we compress normal air into a cylinder the air would hold some energy within it. This energy can be utilized for useful purposes. When this compressed air expands, the energy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fig. 2.1 working of two stroke engine There are no traditional valves in a two stroke engine. In a two stroke the engines fires once every revolution. This makes the engine highly efficient and lightweight compared to four stroke systems. Rather than entering through valves, the fuel/air mixture enters through an intake port and exhaust exits out of an exhaust port. In place of traditional valves the two stroke engine uses the piston s position to force out exhaust or suck in fuel mixture. Reeds are vital to a two stroke system. The reeds are placed between the intake manifold and the carburetor, open and close to allow the fuel / air mixture to enter the case of the engine and trap it, and ensure the proper exchange of gasses in the engine. This procedure might sound complex, but it is, in fact, extremely effective and easy to understand. The whole cycle can be explained as follows: 1) As the piston moves from bottom dead center to top dead center it creates a vaccum to draw the fuel / air mixture through the carburetor and past the reed valve assembly. 2) The piston moves down from top dead center to bottom dead center. The reed closes, causing the pressure to build in the cylinder. The movement of the piston uncovers the intake port and pressurized the fuel / air mixture. 3) The piston now moves up from bottom dead center to top dead center, effectively ending a cycle and starting another. The spark plug ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
