Argumentative Essay On Cloning Horses

Cloning Horses
17 November 2017
Cloning Horses Cloning horses is like opening a pandora box, that s better left closed. In the years to
come cloning could become more common in the horse industry. As Ryan Bell states in the article The
Clone Age, When we clone we produce what we already have. (Bell Clone Age) Breeders must
remember; too much of a good thing is still a bad thing. So here s the question is cloning good or bad.
The first equine wasn t cloned until 2003. However, the first organism was cloned in 1928. Hans
Spemann was the first person to create a clone, he cloned a frog. The most well known clone may
have been Dolly the sheep. Dolly was born in 1996, that was the year cloning became more popular.
(Bell Clone Age)
Why clone? That s the question many breeders are asking. For breeding stock cloning could increase
amounts of offspring. A clone could manage a breeding career from a horse so it could continue to
show.Cloning could bring back beloved childhood horses or past champions. But is it worth the cost
of $160,000? (Bell Clone Age)
Many breeders are weary of cloning. Not only is cloning expensive but, according to the article Is
Cloning Horses Ethical by M. Campbell, a few breed associations (including the thoroughbred
association) don t even allow clones to be registered. These roadblocks may be the reason that
worldwide only 100 to 200 horses are cloned per year. (Campbell)
When cloning many people believe the product will be 100% the same as the original. Out of 20,000
genes only 13 are not the same as the original horse s genes. This is because the eggs needed to make
a clone are usually taken from slaughterhouse mares.(Bell Clone Age) In the article Equine Cloning
by Oliver Pynn the cloning process is explained. Mitochondrial DNA comes from the egg, and if the
egg doesn t come from the original horse the clone is only 99.99935% the same. (Pynn) In the United
States of America horse meat is not consumed. In some foreign countries horse meat is consumed. Is
cloned meat safe to eat? Many people worry about the potential health effects

Globalization and the Socio- Economic Development of the...
Abstract
Globalization, according to the Population Reference Bureau (2000) has encouraged women s
participation in the market economy by creating new job opportunities. This paper presents
globalization and socio economic development of the Nigerian women. It highlights the several ways
in which the concept globalization can be used, how globalization has assisted women in holding
conferences where key issues affecting them were discussed and how Nigeria and some other
countries of the world have implemented some of the issues discussed at the various global
conferences and the effects of the implementation on the socio economic development of the Nigerian
women. The paper concludes by recommending the incorporation of global education ... Show more

may be regarded as an international bill of rights of women all over world and a framework for
women s participation in the development process (Nwogugu, ,4). This is the result of the several

Technology And The Computer System
The brain has the capacity to recall information that was forgotten for a long space of time, regardless
of deleted information; the brain experiences some kind of traces that leave sequel remaining in the
neuron. It is the same thing that happens in the computer system after information are deleted. For
instance, after an address is programmed on the GPS to retrieve and lead to a destination, the
information is automatically encoded and released to track the direction leading to the desired address.
Just like the human brain, the computer has the capacity to capture and memorize multiple
information, and may proceed by a rapid retention after some information are deleted. It seems like
when an information is erased from the computer, it attempts to build or download new program to
prevent the definite dilution or process to save the deleted information through new programs.
Retrospection to the GPS, it has the option to retain many destination once input to it systematic
artificial brain or memory; the memorization can be kept for a long time as long as the machine and its
mechanism would remain active in terms of operation. By determination, if you happen to delete
every single encoded information from the GPS, even though the system is renewed, you will noticed
that the machine is still remembering some of the previous deleted addresses. In reality, the human
brain is more proficient in encoding and decoding information and its memorization capacity is more

Is College Worth It
Is college actually worth it? This is a question most students start asking as the college cost increases
and jobs are harder to get. Getting accepted into a good college is a great start, but in order to be
successful students themselves need to be hardworking, motivated, and creative. That way students
can make worth of the cost of college and become successful. College is worth it because it gives
workers a higher chance of being employed and gives student s problem solving skills to boost the
economy. For starters, those with a high school diploma are more likely to be unemployed than those
with a college degree. On the article ¨Education Still Pays¨ it was stated that Workers with less than a

Youĺl need the knowledge and problem solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases
like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our environment (Obama

and themselves education is required. By extension, education is also required to do most things in
life, as Obama said ¨No matter what you do in life I guarantee you will need an education for it. You
cannot drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You´ve got to train for it and work for it and

that going to college is worth it and dropping out of school isn t the answer. If wanting to be

education poor quality, even in brand name schools, and out of control costs are one of the biggest. On
the article ¨Why College Isn t (And shouldn t Have to Be) For Everyone¨. This statement is simply not

My Undergraduate Work At California Polytechnic State...
I chose to do my undergraduate work at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
Cal Poly was affordable, strong in the sciences and well known for its Learn by Doing philosophy. I
received a phenomenal education in science and nutrition helping me feel prepared to begin graduate
studies in advanced practice nursing. Prior to Cal Poly, I planned a career in nursing, ultimately
deciding that studying nutrition at Cal Poly could provide an excellent foundation. I found nutrition
fascinating. During my maternal and child nutrition course my passion surrounding the health and
wellness of women, particularly during pregnancy, solidified. I began finding ways to supplement my
learning in this direction. As a research assistant for a pediatric nurse practitioner, I sat in on
breastfeeding support groups, consultations and researched topics of concern for new mothers. Some
women had been advised to avoid certain foods while breastfeeding in order to prevent and treat colic
symptoms. As a nutrition major, I am interested in diet modifications as therapies but also aware of the
challenges women are facing to meet the current breastfeeding recommendations. Worried dietary
exclusions may not be evidence based and could contribute to breastfeeding avoidance, I began
researching to find the answers. With the support of my senior project advisor, Dr. Swadener, I dug
into the clinic trials. I found some success in treating infantile colic with a maternal hypoallergenic

What is a police officer.A police officer is someone who enforces the law and makes sure people
follow it.For my essay I decide that for my research project I wanted to choose something in law
enforcement, because I am really interseted in being a police officer because it looks like a cool and
interesting job..I was not sure if I wanted to be a police officer or a detective or something else but
when i looked into it more I decided that it was the right thing for me.I thought that it was the right
thing for me because since i was a little kid i was always interested in law enforcement.when i was
younger i would always say that i wanted to be a firefighter or a police or S.W.A.T officer, also when i
was younger i like to watch a lot of TV shows about law enforcement like COPS,DEA,CSI,and many
others. One other reason that i think the career of a police officer would be good for me is because i
like to be active and i like to be out doors alot and i think that i would not feel comfortable in an office
job because i would get really bored and i think that i would be stressed out all the time. One other
reason why i think this job is good for me is because i like to help people that are in need and that
need help and because i get a good feeling after i help someone. One of the main reasons that i would
like to have this job is because i do not have to study or go to school alot.I say this because to become

because i do not like to study.Although I only need a high school diploma to become a police officer I

Goethe Motherhood
In the concluding lines of Faust, Goethe introduces his notion of the eternal feminine, or vision of
ideal womanhood that would pervade The Sorrows of Young Werther and later European
Romanticists. For Goethe, the eternal feminine is not only a goal for women to strive for, but an ideal
that will provoke society s moral regeneration. Goethe s vision of the eternal feminine intersects with
his Romantic appreciation for nature, children, and sensibility, which radically diverge from the
rationalist ideals of Voltaire s High Enlightenment. In his attempts to personify the eternal feminine in
characters such as Charlotte and Gretchen, the eternal feminine inevitably becomes a symptom of his
unique fascination with children. While the correlation between womanhood and motherhood
arguably stretches back to Christian iconography of the Virgin Mary, ... Show more content on

The eternal feminine was thus a lie, one that bolstered the traditional discourse on gender that viewed
women as mothers rather than freethinking individuals. Jean Jacques Rousseau, who bridged the strict
rationalism of the High Enlightenment with the sensibility of Romanticism, articulated this shifting
attitude towards women and children in the late 18th century. Rousseau s attitudes towards children
and philosophy of education were particularly revolutionary, as his belief in the goodness of human
nature challenged Voltaire s pessimistic conviction that children were inherently wicked (Bloch 7). In
his philosophical novel Emile

William Wordsworth s Lyrical Ballads
Imagine traveling down a gravel road in the countryside, set in England during the 19th Century. As
you continue your journey, you stumble across a woodland child and inquire about general questions.
Being inquisitive and intrigued by her fair beauty, queries regarding he family arise and soon you find
her concept of death skewed. We are Seven, composed by William Wordsworth and published in
Lyrical Ballads, is one of Wordsworth darker poems and unlike his characteristic Romantic style.
Wordsworth lost his mother at the tender age of eight, coincidentally, the same age as the cottage girl.
This poem stems from Wordsworth s personal experiences from when he journeyed across Europe
later in life and stumbled across a child near Goodrich Castle, whom is alleged to be the muse behind
this poem. The poem depicts the struggle the speaker faces as he tries to verbalize the truth over the
deceased cottage girl s brother and sister. The characterizations regarding the speaker s social class
and age in regards to his audience, the little girl, contribute to the colliding ideology during this
exchange. Wordsworth begins the scene of this poem with the master strolling down a road in the
countryside. The silence and loneliness of the poem breaks when the man comes across a little girl
frolicking alone. Before any words are exchanged, a description of the child is given, alluding to her
social standing among society. Described as having Her hair so thick with many a curl / That cluster

The Conflicts Between Seeing Nature As A Medium Of Art
Imagine hiking and standing upon a mountain top and just basking in the beauty of the scenery
around. Some people consider nature as the purest form of natural expression. Some artists consider
nature as a medium of art. But what is a medium of art? Art is expressed to be man made, a form of
human expression, a tale of beauty or tragedy. The world is a beautiful place filled with unique
creatures, beautiful scenery and an overwhelming sense of power and importance. But a medium is
considered as materials used to help express the viewpoint of the artist. In this evaluation argument
one will see the conflicts between seeing nature as a contributor to art. where if it can be used as a
material that inspires the artist, can be used to express emotion, and help support the point of view of
the art work. One would think that nature would have nothing to do with art. But it seems that art can
be found centered upon this idea. Nature is used in many different forms either to build a giant
building or to just exists and to be admired. In many cases trees and other natural elements are used as
art supplies. One can view the use of nature being used as a medium of art. Using the materials as a
source of expressing the viewpoint of the artists.
Some disapprove of this viewpoint, some people suggest that art is to conceptual to be related or
influenced by nature. Some people also state that nature is based of evolution and science not on the
concepts of feelings

The Crisis No. 1 Syntax
AP English per.2
2/23/13
The Crisis No. 1 As we read this passage it is full of different rhetorical strategies and the reason they
were put in there. The writer s style is the way he uses his language and the rhetorical strategies that
he might use to enhance his writing. As I read the passage I came across syntax which is the war he
puts his words to send the reader a message, and ad hominem arguing his point against the person
instead of the argument. The rhetorical used in the reading is used cleverly enough to prove a point.
One of the first rhetorical strategies he uses is syntax and the definition is the way an author chooses
to join words into phrases and sentences. The words he uses for his syntax are ... Show more content

It matters not where you live...the evil or the blessing will reach you. The reason why he uses you
repeatedly and often is to address them or you so you can feel personally committed to the words he is
saying. When he uses you instead of the colonist or people it is much stronger to use you there is a
personal connection with the speaker and the listener. The use of you is to feel personally committed
because in times like this people only worry about themselves and that s the nature of humans. The
nature of humans is always to care for themselves especially in hard situations when you are being
addressed personally you have that sensation that you must help yourself. The person speaking knew
that and addressed them personally as you in order to get his message through the people. It helped get
the message through the people and soon got what he wanted. In conclusion the passage is full of
rhetorical strategies like the ones I have used to describe the feelings of the man trying to send out his
message to the colonist and the syntax used as well as the pathos to show how he feels about the king
and the wrong choices he has been doing he is trying to get the colonist to go against him and things
would improve without his ruling. He used them well to prove a point and send his message; those are
good uses of rhetorical

Analysis Of Words I Never Said By Lupe Fiasco
One of the many contentious issues raised and attacked in Words I Never Said by Lupe Fiasco is the
issue of America s war on terror, claiming that the idea of terror is used as a front to dominate the
Middle East for political and economical reasons, decreasing civil liberties and controlling the world s
supply of oil. This view is one held by millions, claiming that such force isn t needed to weed out a
flimsy opposition. A radical theory held by some is addressed a few lines later, asking if it was the US
government that orchestrated 9/11. Although I disagree with this claim that it was an inside job, I do
believe that the grief and fear of the American people was falsely harnessed and targeted to spread
America s dominance across the globe,

Pro Choice Vs. Pro-Abortion
All I m going to say is there is a difference between pro choice and pro abortion. Pro choice is
understanding that you have no control over what another woman does with her body. Pro choice is
understanding that people make their own decisions based on their life. Pro choice is not necessarily
approving of abortion, it s allowing people to make decisions, which is why it s called pro CHOICE. If
you are pro life, you are saying an unborn fetus is equivalent in value as a born child. If a fire was
destroying a building which an unborn fetus and a living baby we re trapped inside, and you could

Argumentative Essay On Political Reform
The social welfare groups, who deviously serve as underground pipelines for the furtive money are
considered harmless by the American public. Unknowingly, that these grossly mis designated
organizations accept secret donations and use the money to sway elections in the favor of some
devious donors. They do this by spending millions of dollars for campaigns, electioneering under the
tag of a humanitarian welfarist that supports the principles of the welfare state, barraging the airwaves
with negative political commercials and so far an inexplicable provision in U.S law seem to allow
that. And when the government supervisory body actually take the action to investigate these

Thanks to our representative democratic system, America is becoming more Oligarchic since our one

Epistemological And Psychological Views Of Divorce
Epistemological and Psychological Views of Divorce This paper looks at divorce from different
perspectives of thought. By using personal experience, critical thinking and Christian integration I am
able to evaluate the implications of divorce. Marriage is a vow intended to be kept, and when a couple
decides to separate it detaches from God s perfect will for their lives. From a sociological standpoint
divorce can effect kids, government policies and communities. Divorce does not only effect the couple
but people outside of it. The rate of separation is so prevalent that society accepts this as a social
norm. The goal of my paper is to prove that divorcing is not beneficial for long term happiness or
mental health. Identifying the solutions through a struggling marriage by epistemological thought and
psychology will ultimately decline the rate of divorce. The concept of divorce can be understood
through reason, empirical investigation and revelation. By reason, one can assume that divorce will
not lead to happiness but to loneliness and uncertainty. This paper will further explore empirical
investigation which has assessed that divorce will not guarantee true satisfaction or contentment.
Through the testimonies of many, their experience has led to a revelation of truth in their lives, and the
true meaning of marriage.

The Genetics Of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
The Genetics of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the most common genetic disease fatal in children, it is a severe and
rapidly progressive muscle disease with symptoms that first become evident due to the affected child
showing early motor developmental delay; for example, presentation of Gower s sign, a diagnostic
indicator of proximal muscle weakness characterised by the affected having to walk their hands up
their body to stand due to little strength being present in the lower limb.
By thirteen years of age the proximal muscle weakness is so advanced that the affected will be
wheelchair dependent, and as involuntary muscles (cardiac and respiratory) grow more affected
towards the age of eighteen, cardiomyopathy and respiratory diseases are common and often cause
death, with very few survivors past the age of thirty and the average lifespan at twenty five.
The cause of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the occurrence of mutations in the Dystrophin (DMD)
gene. The cytogenetic location off the DMD gene is Xp21.2; meaning at location 21.2 on the short
arm of the X chromosome from base pair 31,119,219 to base pair 33,339,609. DMD is the biggest
human gene currently known and instructs for the production of a 427 kDa protein by the same name.
The dystrophin protein is part of the dystrophin associated protein complex which is expressed at the
sarcolema and anchors muscle cellcytoskeletons to the extracellular matrix in skeletal and cardiac

The Epic Of Gilgamesh And The Iliad
The Epic of Gilgamesh and the Iliad are two extremely different stories, The Iliad being a tale of war
(specifically the Trojan War) while the Epic of Gilgamesh is a true Epic in the sense that it is a
journey, all about the development of the characters. While there are many different themes
throughout both books, one of the most important themes is the way that friendship develops both of
the people involved and the way that it ties into the story overall. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu
and Gilgamesh start off as polar opposites while in the Iliad, Achilles and Patroclus are great friends
from the very beginning. In each of the stories, one of the friends dies and it leaves a permanent mark
on the other that changes his behavior in a way that sets the stage for the rest of the story. However, I
think that the greater change of the two happens in Achilles since the death of his friend leads him to
completely change character, from the man who allows his friend to take his place while he cowers in
fear to the man who leads the charge that wins the war. Gilgamesh on the other hand, continues the
journey that he and Enkidu started but even until the end he struggles with his selfish nature. Prior to
Enkidu and Patroclus their deaths, the friendships in each of the stories already have a profound effect
on Gilgamesh and Achilles. At the beginning of the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh is a tyrannical ruler
in the land of Uruk. At the beginning of the story, we learn that he two

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Integrated Circuits
INTRODUCTION TO VLSI
Very large scale integration (VLSI) is the process of creating integrated circuits by combining
thousands of transistor based circuits into a single chip. VLSI began in the 1970s when complex
semiconductor and communication technologies were being developed. The microprocessor is a VLSI
device. The term is no longer as common as it once was, as chips have increased in complexity into
the hundreds of millions of transistors.
Overview
The first semiconductor chips held one transistor each. Subsequent advances added more and more
transistors, and, as a consequence, more individual functions or systems were integrated over time.
The first integrated circuits held only a few devices, perhaps as many as ten diodes, transistors,
resistors and capacitors, making it possible to fabricate one or ... Show more content on

Integrated circuits improve system characteristics in several critical ways. ICs have three key
advantages over digital circuits built from discrete components: Size. Integrated circuits are much
smaller both transistors and wires are shrunk to micrometer sizes, compared to the millimeter or
centimeter scales of discrete components. Small size leads to advantages in speed and power
consumption, since smaller components have smaller parasitic resistances, capacitances, and
inductances. Speed. Signals can be switched between logic 0 and logic 1 much quicker within a chip
than they can between chips. Communication within a chip can occur hundreds of times faster than
communication between chips on a printed circuit board. The high speed of circuits on chip is due to
their small size smaller components and wires have smaller parasitic capacitances to slow down the

perspectives. Symbolism, motifs and themes in these two films are explored to emphasise how
innocence is portrayed and corrupted throughout the texts. The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas reflects on

How Did Franz Ferdinand React To The Horrors Of War In 1914
In the late summer of 1914, the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, Archduke of Austria, occurred in
Sarajevo, Bosnia. This led to the July Crisis which was a month long diplomatic situation between
multiple European countries, with Austria Hungary delivering an ultimatum with the intention of
inciting war with Serbia, the party that was guilty for Franz Ferdinand s murder. This led to the
mobilization of Russia in defense of its ally, Serbia, which then led Germany to mobilize, then get
refused permission to pass through Belgium into France, and they subsequently declared war on
Belgium. This led to Britain declaring war on Germany as the British felt Belgium should be left out.
The ensuing war would go on to become one of the deadliest conflicts in history, with over 17 million
deaths, 7 million of those alone being civilians. Soldiers went through ... Show more content on

Franke, despite feeling that he and his mates would not survive the previous day s encounter, recounts
the craziness around him speaking about artillery shells flying past and shrapnel barely hitting him as
he wonders why doesn t one get me? (The Horrors of War, Macmillan) His descriptions of how
soldiers react in the trenches makes them sound battle hardened and accustomed to the chaos around
them but also numb to the dead bodies all around them. He later recalls being on the road riding
behind the next soldier and admiring the weather in the countryside. He also notes how much one
learns of human nature, good and bad, as well as the inner strength the war evokes in a person. This is
a strong contrast to his description of the rigors of war and speaks to his character being able to take in
what is around him and appreciate what he has since his next day could be his last. This also does a
great job of challenging the Allies propaganda that German soldiers were devoid of

Gender Roles And Gender Role Stereotypes
Gender role stereotypes have a negative impact on society by media, movies, commercials, for
instance, Kylie Jenner is a perfect example in which she felt insecure about her body and facial
features to where she was under the constant scrutiny of the media comparing her features to the likes
of her sisters which are, full lips, large back side and hips and petite nose as well as arched eyebrows.
For example, youth girls are seen and reprimanded to play with Barbie dolls, babying equipment and
supplies, nursing tools and adorable plush dogs and teddy bears, on the other hand boys are seen
playing big and bad wrestlers and G.I. Joe action figures with toy guns and knives, soccer balls, basket
balls, and baseballs things that would be outlandish and unusual for girls to be seen playing with. This
also sets a bad example for teenagers and adults and makes them want to do the same because these
are the people they look up to and want to follow in their footsteps. Meanwhile, movies give off a
negative effect for example, in the Walt Disney film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White
is cast out by a jealous step mother who only cares about superficial beauty. Snow White ends up
cooking and cleaning for the seven men dwarfs , while their off at work and despite the fact that she s
been warned of evil, she s easily tricked by the witch in disguise, of course in the end, she gets saved
by a man.
Everything from certain ethnic groups and cultures have a gender role

Critical Thinking Paper On The United States

Critical Thinking Paper: I assumed that I was looking for a house and I found three equally wonderful
houses in three cities that are located in different states of America. The first one was the city of
Cambridge located in the state of Massachusetts because you can easily live without a car. I believe
that cars cause pollution and I am against it. I believe, I can easily contribute by choosing a house that
is near my work place so that I can walk or bike easily. The second one was the city of Miami located
in the state of Florida because it is the warmest city in the U.S. It has been really hard for me to keep

UCR helped me to find out more about the crimes reported in this area by the UCR so that I can
determine the different levels of security before choosing the best city to live in. For the city of
Cambridge that is located in the state of Massachusetts, I found out that it had the least rate of part 1
crimes overall with 2692.2 part 1 crimes per 100000 people compared to both the city of Miami that is
located in the state of Florida and the city of New Haven which is located in the state of Connecticut
while the city of Miami that is located in the state of Florida had the most crime rate of 5908.4 part 1
crimes per 100000 people. It is more than a half (UCR, 2015:1). Considering the violent crimes rate
Miami that is located in the state of Florida still has the most rates of 1059.9 per 100000 people
compared to 278.1 rates per 100000 people in the city of Cambridge that is located in the state of
Massachusetts, which has the least rate of violent crimes(UCR, 2015:1). I believe that the best place
for me to live in is in the city of Cambridge in the state of Massachusetts. I made this decision basing
myself more on the overall rate of violent crime because I am more scared of the violent crimes since
this is the type of crime that can harm me. I looked at property crimes too but I was not so concerned
because I can survive and not get harmed at all, that s what I think is more

Solution Focused Theory
As solution focused practice is one of the main influencing theoretical perspectives used by my
organisation, I have done some research into this theory and found aspects that I like and dislike
within it. I read up on solution focused therapy in Howe s A Brief Introduction to Social Work Theory
(2009). Solution focused therapy is generally a brief form of therapy where the aim is generally for
problems to be fixed within around 5 sessions. Howe (2009) recommends small positive, specific,
concrete and attainable, changes to help the client believe that change is possible. O Hanlon Weiner
Davis, 1989, as cited in Howe, 2009, p.90 91) suggest the following as key principles underlying
solution focused therapy:
Clients have resources and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the chapter, I found again and again, emphasis on the fact that workers are disinterested and
see no point in knowing the cause or explanation of a problem. Stalker, Levene Coady (1999), in their
critique of solution focused therapy, suggest that information about the past is not seen as useful, but
as problem talk . There are a few possible reasons that I might find an aversion to this. It could
possibly be because of my own personality type, I am someone who needs to talk through feelings
before I am ready to do anything about them. I need to feel like I am being heard, if I don t, then I tend
to hold on to the feelings and not move forward. This is probably somewhat linked to my second
possible reason for aversion to workers showing little interest in the full story. While I mostly come
from a raiser of consciousness perspective, I am also a seeker of meaning. I like to get a full picture, of
all the how s and why s of a situation, to better understand it, before looking at possible solutions. I
do, however, understand that this is just my view, and that other people may have a different

Danaus Plexipus
The Decline of Danaus Plexippus The Danaus plexxippus, also known as the Monarch butterfly, is
spread all throughout North America during various parts of the year. In the summer they can migrate
as far north as Canada, and during the winter months they can migrate as far south as Mexico.
Because Monarchs cannot withstand low temperatures, they make use of different habitats during
summer and cold months. They spend the spring, summer and fall months in various places
throughout the United States and Canada, and they overwinter in central Mexico. Monarchs lay their
eggs on a species of plant known as a milkweed. Because of this, Monarchs can be found wherever
there is an abundance of milkweeds. Monarchs are very ecologically important because they provide
the service of pollination to many flowers and plants. While it is true the bees are the more prolific
pollinators, Monarch butterflies are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in 2009 during the dry season of their overwintering grounds, the Monarchs were hit
with record breaking levels of precipitation. From October through March, the overwintering ground
of Sierra Chincua was hit with 577 mm of precipitation. This was a huge increase in the precipitation
level, as the previous two seasons had only produced levels of 40 mm and 20 mm over the same time
span. With the rain, came heavy winds that blew down hundreds of oyamel firs in the Reserve core
zone and scattered the butterflies from their bough and trunk clusters. The storms also brought major
flooding, landslide and structural damage to the area. What ultimately led to the demise of 5 10% of
the wetted butterflies was the drop in temperature. Fortunately, the severe drop to 6 degrees Celsius
occurred the second morning after the storm, after the butterflies had dried. It is estimated that 90% of
the Monarchs could have died had the drop taken place while the Monarchs were still

Rivalry Of Elizabeth
Rivalry between Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots
Religion is a main reason why Elizabeth executed Mary. Evidence which supports this reason is that
some English Catholics would have preferred Mary as Queen of England. This would have made
Elizabeth feel as she would need to execute Mary because Mary gave Catholics a reason to rebel
against Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a protestant queen and most Catholics preferred a queen of their own
belief. Thus, this was the best time to rebel against Elizabeth and gain a new catholic queen who lead
the country. All they had to do, was releasing her from imprisonment. An argument in support of this
evidence is that in 1570 the Pope issued a Bull ordering. Catholics should disobey Elizabeth because
she was heretic. Catholics must follow the Pope and believe in him as the legitimate head of church.
McLaren describes that not solely the papal bull had consequences in the year 1570, but also James
Stewart s assassination:
If the near conjunction of the papal bull and the Northern Rebellion does not explain the change in
character of English anti Catholicism, 1570 still remains a key date in its career. The key event,
however, belongs to a British history whose parameters and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This would give the Catholics courage to take Elizabeth off the throne and crown a catholic queen
instead, as this is what the Pope wanted. A further piece of evidence is the Northern rebellion of 1569.
It was a catholic attempt to replace Elizabeth with Mary. This would have made Elizabeth feel that she
would need to execute Mary because this event happened so quickly as she has only been there for a
year. Mary did not agree to it because she knew it would fail. Religion links to other factors such as
dynastic reasons, because Mary said she was the rightful Queen of England and Elizabeth was
illegitimate because the Catholics did not believe in

1. Vapor pressure
The boiling point of a compound is often related to its polarity (see also polarity chapter). The lower
the boiling point is, the higher the vapor pressure of the compound and the shorter retention time
usually is because the compound will spent more time in the gas phase. That is one of the main
reasons why low boiling solvents (i.e., diethyl ether, dichloromethane) are used as solvents to dissolve
the sample. The temperature of the column does not have to be above the boiling point because every
compound has a non zero vapor pressure at any given temperature, even solids. That is the reason why
we can smell compounds like camphor (0.065 mmHg/25 oC), isoborneol (0.0035 mmHg/25 oC),
naphthalene (0.084 mmHg/25 oC), etc. However, their vapor pressures are low compared to liquids
(i.e., water (24 mmHg/25 oC), ethyl acetate (95 mmHg/25 oC), diethyl ether (520 mmHg/25 oC)).

As a result, polar compounds have long retention times on polar stationary phases and shorter
retention times on non polar columns using the same temperature. Chiral stationary phases that are
based on amino acid derivatives, cyclodextrins and chiral silanes are capable of separating
enantiomers because one enantiomer interacts slightly stronger than the other one with the stationary
phase, often due to steric effects or other very specific interactions. For instance, a modified
cyclodextrin column is used in the determination of the enantiomeric excess in the chiral epoxidation
experiment (Chem

Quand Subir Un Test De Depistage

The Importance Of The Age Of Discovery
Portugal is known for initiating the Age of Discovery. They played an important role in exploration.
Many new lands were discovered, boosting trade, power, and wealth, during the Age of Discovery.
Early exploration began in the late 1300s and early 1400s under Prince Henry, aka the Navigator.
One key factor that led to Portugal s power was Ceuta, a major port city in north Africa, that
controlled ships entering and exiting the Mediterranean Sea. King John I, Henry s father, conquered
the city after being encouraged by Henry. On an early morning on August 21, 1415, King John I,
along with his sons, led an army to Playa San Amaro, a beach in Ceuta. They sieged the garrison and
took the Ceuta by nightfall. They went on taking four more islands off the northwest coast of Africa,
in which they explored and colonized.
In 1431, the Azores were discovered and colonized. In 1443, the Bay of Arguin was colonized, and
later, the Portuguese constructed a fort. By 1462, the Portuguese had explored the coast of Africa as
far as present day Sierra Leone These colonies produced extozic trade goods, such as wine, spices,
ivory, gold, and herbs, making the Portigal not only wealthy but also powerful. In 1498, the Cape of
Good Hope was discovered, but Henry never lived to see this great discovery. He died at the age of 66
in 1460. His legacy lived on. Henry s navigation and discoveries officially began the Age of
Discovery, and it was not long before other European nations joined.

  • 2. Argumentative Essay On Cloning Horses Kassidy Schumann Ward English 1 Cloning Horses 17 November 2017 Cloning Horses Cloning horses is like opening a pandora box, that s better left closed. In the years to come cloning could become more common in the horse industry. As Ryan Bell states in the article The Clone Age, When we clone we produce what we already have. (Bell Clone Age) Breeders must remember; too much of a good thing is still a bad thing. So here s the question is cloning good or bad. The first equine wasn t cloned until 2003. However, the first organism was cloned in 1928. Hans Spemann was the first person to create a clone, he cloned a frog. The most well known clone may have been Dolly the sheep. Dolly was born in 1996, that was the year cloning became more popular. (Bell Clone Age) Why clone? That s the question many breeders are asking. For breeding stock cloning could increase amounts of offspring. A clone could manage a breeding career from a horse so it could continue to show.Cloning could bring back beloved childhood horses or past champions. But is it worth the cost of $160,000? (Bell Clone Age) Many breeders are weary of cloning. Not only is cloning expensive but, according to the article Is Cloning Horses Ethical by M. Campbell, a few breed associations (including the thoroughbred association) don t even allow clones to be registered. These roadblocks may be the reason that worldwide only 100 to 200 horses are cloned per year. (Campbell) When cloning many people believe the product will be 100% the same as the original. Out of 20,000 genes only 13 are not the same as the original horse s genes. This is because the eggs needed to make a clone are usually taken from slaughterhouse mares.(Bell Clone Age) In the article Equine Cloning by Oliver Pynn the cloning process is explained. Mitochondrial DNA comes from the egg, and if the egg doesn t come from the original horse the clone is only 99.99935% the same. (Pynn) In the United States of America horse meat is not consumed. In some foreign countries horse meat is consumed. Is cloned meat safe to eat? Many people worry about the potential health effects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Technology And The Computer System The brain has the capacity to recall information that was forgotten for a long space of time, regardless of deleted information; the brain experiences some kind of traces that leave sequel remaining in the neuron. It is the same thing that happens in the computer system after information are deleted. For instance, after an address is programmed on the GPS to retrieve and lead to a destination, the information is automatically encoded and released to track the direction leading to the desired address. Just like the human brain, the computer has the capacity to capture and memorize multiple information, and may proceed by a rapid retention after some information are deleted. It seems like when an information is erased from the computer, it attempts to build or download new program to prevent the definite dilution or process to save the deleted information through new programs. Retrospection to the GPS, it has the option to retain many destination once input to it systematic artificial brain or memory; the memorization can be kept for a long time as long as the machine and its mechanism would remain active in terms of operation. By determination, if you happen to delete every single encoded information from the GPS, even though the system is renewed, you will noticed that the machine is still remembering some of the previous deleted addresses. • 5. Is College Worth It Is college actually worth it? This is a question most students start asking as the college cost increases and jobs are harder to get. Getting accepted into a good college is a great start, but in order to be successful students themselves need to be hardworking, motivated, and creative. That way students can make worth of the cost of college and become successful. College is worth it because it gives workers a higher chance of being employed and gives student s problem solving skills to boost the economy. • 6. My Undergraduate Work At California Polytechnic State... I chose to do my undergraduate work at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Cal Poly was affordable, strong in the sciences and well known for its Learn by Doing philosophy. I received a phenomenal education in science and nutrition helping me feel prepared to begin graduate studies in advanced practice nursing. Prior to Cal Poly, I planned a career in nursing, ultimately deciding that studying nutrition at Cal Poly could provide an excellent foundation. I found nutrition fascinating. During my maternal and child nutrition course my passion surrounding the health and wellness of women, particularly during pregnancy, solidified. I began finding ways to supplement my learning in this direction. As a research assistant for a pediatric nurse practitioner, I sat in on breastfeeding support groups, consultations and researched topics of concern for new mothers. Some women had been advised to avoid certain foods while breastfeeding in order to prevent and treat colic symptoms. As a nutrition major, I am interested in diet modifications as therapies but also aware of the challenges women are facing to meet the current breastfeeding recommendations. Worried dietary exclusions may not be evidence based and could contribute to breastfeeding avoidance, I began researching to find the answers. With the support of my senior project advisor, Dr. Swadener, I dug into the clinic trials. I found some success in treating infantile colic with a maternal hypoallergenic ... • 8. Goethe Motherhood In the concluding lines of Faust, Goethe introduces his notion of the eternal feminine, or vision of ideal womanhood that would pervade The Sorrows of Young Werther and later European Romanticists. For Goethe, the eternal feminine is not only a goal for women to strive for, but an ideal that will provoke society s moral regeneration. Goethe s vision of the eternal feminine intersects with his Romantic appreciation for nature, children, and sensibility, which radically diverge from the rationalist ideals of Voltaire s High Enlightenment. In his attempts to personify the eternal feminine in characters such as Charlotte and Gretchen, the eternal feminine inevitably becomes a symptom of his unique fascination with children. While the correlation between womanhood and motherhood arguably stretches back to Christian iconography of the Virgin Mary, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The eternal feminine was thus a lie, one that bolstered the traditional discourse on gender that viewed women as mothers rather than freethinking individuals. Jean Jacques Rousseau, who bridged the strict rationalism of the High Enlightenment with the sensibility of Romanticism, articulated this shifting attitude towards women and children in the late 18th century. Rousseau s attitudes towards children and philosophy of education were particularly revolutionary, as his belief in the goodness of human nature challenged Voltaire s pessimistic conviction that children were inherently wicked (Bloch 7). • 10. William Wordsworth s Lyrical Ballads Imagine traveling down a gravel road in the countryside, set in England during the 19th Century. As you continue your journey, you stumble across a woodland child and inquire about general questions. Being inquisitive and intrigued by her fair beauty, queries regarding he family arise and soon you find her concept of death skewed. We are Seven, composed by William Wordsworth and published in Lyrical Ballads, is one of Wordsworth darker poems and unlike his characteristic Romantic style. Wordsworth lost his mother at the tender age of eight, coincidentally, the same age as the cottage girl. This poem stems from Wordsworth s personal experiences from when he journeyed across Europe later in life and stumbled across a child near Goodrich Castle, whom is alleged to be the muse behind this poem. The poem depicts the struggle the speaker faces as he tries to verbalize the truth over the deceased cottage girl s brother and sister. The characterizations regarding the speaker s social class and age in regards to his audience, the little girl, contribute to the colliding ideology during this exchange. Wordsworth begins the scene of this poem with the master strolling down a road in the countryside. The silence and loneliness of the poem breaks when the man comes across a little girl frolicking alone. Before any words are exchanged, a description of the child is given, alluding to her social standing among society. Described as having Her hair so thick with many a curl / That cluster ... • 11. The Conflicts Between Seeing Nature As A Medium Of Art Imagine hiking and standing upon a mountain top and just basking in the beauty of the scenery around. Some people consider nature as the purest form of natural expression. Some artists consider nature as a medium of art. But what is a medium of art? Art is expressed to be man made, a form of human expression, a tale of beauty or tragedy. The world is a beautiful place filled with unique creatures, beautiful scenery and an overwhelming sense of power and importance. But a medium is considered as materials used to help express the viewpoint of the artist. In this evaluation argument one will see the conflicts between seeing nature as a contributor to art. where if it can be used as a material that inspires the artist, can be used to express emotion, and help support the point of view of the art work. One would think that nature would have nothing to do with art. But it seems that art can be found centered upon this idea. Nature is used in many different forms either to build a giant building or to just exists and to be admired. In many cases trees and other natural elements are used as art supplies. One can view the use of nature being used as a medium of art. Using the materials as a source of expressing the viewpoint of the artists. Some disapprove of this viewpoint, some people suggest that art is to conceptual to be related or influenced by nature. Some people also state that nature is based of evolution and science not on the concepts of feelings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As I read the passage I came across syntax which is the war he puts his words to send the reader a message, and ad hominem arguing his point against the person instead of the argument. The rhetorical used in the reading is used cleverly enough to prove a point. When he uses you instead of the colonist or people it is much stronger to use you there is a personal connection with the speaker and the listener. The use of you is to feel personally committed because in times like this people only worry about themselves and that s the nature of humans. The nature of humans is always to care for themselves especially in hard situations when you are being addressed personally you have that sensation that you must help yourself. The person speaking knew that and addressed them personally as you in order to get his message through the people. It helped get the message through the people and soon got what he wanted. In conclusion the passage is full of rhetorical strategies like the ones I have used to describe the feelings of the man trying to send out his message to the colonist and the syntax used as well as the pathos to show how he feels about the king and the wrong choices he has been doing he is trying to get the colonist to go against him and things would improve without his ruling. • 13. Analysis Of Words I Never Said By Lupe Fiasco One of the many contentious issues raised and attacked in Words I Never Said by Lupe Fiasco is the issue of America s war on terror, claiming that the idea of terror is used as a front to dominate the Middle East for political and economical reasons, decreasing civil liberties and controlling the world s supply of oil. This view is one held by millions, claiming that such force isn t needed to weed out a flimsy opposition. A radical theory held by some is addressed a few lines later, asking if it was the US government that orchestrated 9/11. Although I disagree with this claim that it was an inside job, I do believe that the grief and fear of the American people was falsely harnessed and targeted to spread America s dominance across the globe, ... Pro choice is understanding that you have no control over what another woman does with her body. Pro choice is understanding that people make their own decisions based on their life. Pro choice is not necessarily approving of abortion, it s allowing people to make decisions, which is why it s called pro CHOICE. If you are pro life, you are saying an unborn fetus is equivalent in value as a born child. Unknowingly, that these grossly mis designated organizations accept secret donations and use the money to sway elections in the favor of some devious donors. They do this by spending millions of dollars for campaigns, electioneering under the tag of a humanitarian welfarist that supports the principles of the welfare state, barraging the airwaves with negative political commercials and so far an inexplicable provision in U.S law seem to allow that. • 17. Epistemological And Psychological Views Of Divorce Epistemological and Psychological Views of Divorce This paper looks at divorce from different perspectives of thought. By using personal experience, critical thinking and Christian integration I am able to evaluate the implications of divorce. Marriage is a vow intended to be kept, and when a couple decides to separate it detaches from God s perfect will for their lives. From a sociological standpoint divorce can effect kids, government policies and communities. Divorce does not only effect the couple but people outside of it. The rate of separation is so prevalent that society accepts this as a social norm. The goal of my paper is to prove that divorcing is not beneficial for long term happiness or mental health. Identifying the solutions through a struggling marriage by epistemological thought and psychology will ultimately decline the rate of divorce. The concept of divorce can be understood through reason, empirical investigation and revelation. By reason, one can assume that divorce will not lead to happiness but to loneliness and uncertainty. This paper will further explore empirical investigation which has assessed that divorce will not guarantee true satisfaction or contentment. Through the testimonies of many, their experience has led to a revelation of truth in their lives, and the true meaning of marriage. The Genetics Of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy The Genetics of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the most common genetic disease fatal in children, it is a severe and rapidly progressive muscle disease with symptoms that first become evident due to the affected child showing early motor developmental delay; for example, presentation of Gower s sign, a diagnostic indicator of proximal muscle weakness characterised by the affected having to walk their hands up their body to stand due to little strength being present in the lower limb. By thirteen years of age the proximal muscle weakness is so advanced that the affected will be wheelchair dependent, and as involuntary muscles (cardiac and respiratory) grow more affected towards the age of eighteen, cardiomyopathy and respiratory diseases are common and often cause death, with very few survivors past the age of thirty and the average lifespan at twenty five. The cause of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the occurrence of mutations in the Dystrophin (DMD) gene. The cytogenetic location off the DMD gene is Xp21.2; meaning at location 21.2 on the short arm of the X chromosome from base pair 31,119,219 to base pair 33,339,609. DMD is the biggest human gene currently known and instructs for the production of a 427 kDa protein by the same name. • 20. The Epic Of Gilgamesh And The Iliad The Epic of Gilgamesh and the Iliad are two extremely different stories, The Iliad being a tale of war (specifically the Trojan War) while the Epic of Gilgamesh is a true Epic in the sense that it is a journey, all about the development of the characters. While there are many different themes throughout both books, one of the most important themes is the way that friendship develops both of the people involved and the way that it ties into the story overall. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu and Gilgamesh start off as polar opposites while in the Iliad, Achilles and Patroclus are great friends from the very beginning. In each of the stories, one of the friends dies and it leaves a permanent mark on the other that changes his behavior in a way that sets the stage for the rest of the story. However, I think that the greater change of the two happens in Achilles since the death of his friend leads him to completely change character, from the man who allows his friend to take his place while he cowers in fear to the man who leads the charge that wins the war. Gilgamesh on the other hand, continues the journey that he and Enkidu started but even until the end he struggles with his selfish nature. Prior to Enkidu and Patroclus their deaths, the friendships in each of the stories already have a profound effect on Gilgamesh and Achilles. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Integrated Circuits INTRODUCTION TO VLSI Very large scale integration (VLSI) is the process of creating integrated circuits by combining thousands of transistor based circuits into a single chip. VLSI began in the 1970s when complex semiconductor and communication technologies were being developed. The microprocessor is a VLSI device. The term is no longer as common as it once was, as chips have increased in complexity into the hundreds of millions of transistors. Overview The first semiconductor chips held one transistor each. Subsequent advances added more and more transistors, and, as a consequence, more individual functions or systems were integrated over time. The first integrated circuits held only a few devices, perhaps as many as ten diodes, transistors, resistors and capacitors, making it possible to fabricate one or ... The Book Thief, directed by Brian Percival, and The Boy in Striped Pyjamas, directed by Mark Herman, are both films that share similar themes and are focused on the time of war during Hitler s reign of power. In both films, the idea of innocence is portrayed and corrupted through the friendship of child protagonists, influence of father figures, characterisation of children in war and the narrative perspectives. In this scene, there is a form of diegetic music being played and the film finishes with a fading camera shot, that creates a heart breaking tone to the film and the audience is able to feel the loss of innocence after the boys death. With a similar end of war scene in The Book Thief, after the bombings that occurred, Liesel lost the boy she loved which is another way that the idea of innocence has been corrupted. Within this scene the director uses a bird s eye view angle of the death of Rudy and mise en scene is also used in this text, placing Liesel sitting with Rudy in the middle of the ruins of their street, leaving the audience to feel heartbroken just as The Boy in Striped Pyjamas does with the death of both boys. • 31. Rivalry Of Elizabeth Rivalry between Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots Religion is a main reason why Elizabeth executed Mary. Evidence which supports this reason is that some English Catholics would have preferred Mary as Queen of England. This would have made Elizabeth feel as she would need to execute Mary because Mary gave Catholics a reason to rebel against Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a protestant queen and most Catholics preferred a queen of their own belief. Thus, this was the best time to rebel against Elizabeth and gain a new catholic queen who lead the country. All they had to do, was releasing her from imprisonment. An argument in support of this evidence is that in 1570 the Pope issued a Bull ordering. Catholics should disobey Elizabeth because she was heretic. Catholics must follow the Pope and believe in him as the legitimate head of church. McLaren describes that not solely the papal bull had consequences in the year 1570, but also James Stewart s assassination: If the near conjunction of the papal bull and the Northern Rebellion does not explain the change in character of English anti Catholicism, 1570 still remains a key date in its career. The lower the boiling point is, the higher the vapor pressure of the compound and the shorter retention time usually is because the compound will spent more time in the gas phase. That is one of the main reasons why low boiling solvents (i.e., diethyl ether, dichloromethane) are used as solvents to dissolve the sample. The temperature of the column does not have to be above the boiling point because every compound has a non zero vapor pressure at any given temperature, even solids. That is the reason why we can smell compounds like camphor (0.065 mmHg/25 oC), isoborneol (0.0035 mmHg/25 oC), naphthalene (0.084 mmHg/25 oC), etc. However, their vapor pressures are low compared to liquids (i.e., water (24 mmHg/25 oC), ethyl acetate (95 mmHg/25 oC), diethyl ether (520 mmHg/25 oC)). 2. Many new lands were discovered, boosting trade, power, and wealth, during the Age of Discovery. Early exploration began in the late 1300s and early 1400s under Prince Henry, aka the Navigator. They went on taking four more islands off the northwest coast of Africa, in which they explored and colonized. In 1431, the Azores were discovered and colonized. In 1443, the Bay of Arguin was colonized, and later, the Portuguese constructed a fort. By 1462, the Portuguese had explored the coast of Africa as far as present day Sierra Leone These colonies produced extozic trade goods, such as wine, spices, ivory, gold, and herbs, making the Portigal not only wealthy but also powerful. In 1498, the Cape of Good Hope was discovered, but Henry never lived to see this great discovery. He died at the age of 66 in 1460. His legacy lived on.
