The document discusses the tools used to produce a magazine, including Photoshop, InDesign, a Canon camera, and studio lights. In Photoshop, the healing brush and free transformation tools were used to edit photos. InDesign allowed text boxes, swatches, and centering tools to layout the magazine pages. The Canon camera was tricky to use but easier once the buttons were understood. Different lighting was used depending on the model's clothing, from brighter lights for bold colors to dimmer lights for darker atmospheres.
1. Whenproducingmy productI usedPhotoshop,InDesign,a Cannon7d 24-105mm lenscamera and
lightsin the photo-shootstudio.WhenusingtheseI learnedhow to use different toolsandwhat
the tools didand howthey couldmake my magazinelookgood.
UsingPhotoshop:
For this all of myimages I usedthe’healingbrush’togive myartista clearer
completion.Iclickedonthe healingbrushtool andfoundthatI couldremove
any markson my artistsface by clockingonthem. The curser had changedshape
to a circle and I soonlearnedthatyoucouldchange the shape of that circle and
it onlyneededtobe alittle bitbiggerthatthe mark youwere tryingto remove.I
neededtobe upclose to the actual image toview all marksI wantedto remove
and foundthatthe tool removedall marksthatI didn’twantto be there.
In Photoshop Ialsousedthe ‘free transformation’ tool (Ihadto google how to
do thisas I wasunsure) whichmade the backgroundof the actual picture
biggerI neededtothisin orderforthe image tofitperfectlytothe page on
InDesignsoI wouldn’thave awhite barrieraroundthe image whenitwas
placedintoInDesign. Before the actual stretchingof the image youneededto
increase the canvassize, thiswasto make the actual image have somethingto
stretchon otherwise itwouldgooff the original fittedcanvas.Once the canvas
was made bigger,Ineededtoselectthe areaonthe image I wantedto stretch,
clickon ‘edit’andclickon‘free transformation’.The selectedarea wouldthen
be able to stretchto the lengthof the now elongatedcanvassize makingthe
actual picture bigger.
I alsousedthe black and white tool onPhotoshop the imagesformydouble page
spread.I neededtoclickon‘image’thenthe ‘adjustments’ tool,thenthe ‘blackand
white tool’andthe image wouldchange fromcolouredtoblackand white.Ithen
made the image a bit lighterjusttomake the actual image lookbetteronthe
double page spreadandfitmore intomy colourscheme of greyblackand red.
2. Using InDesign:
For the formationof my magazine Iuseda rage of differenttools‘textboxes’towrite inthe texton
all pages,’swatches’tochange the colourof mytextand otherfeaturesonmymagazine pages (for
example the circlesonmy double page spreadandthe bannersonmy frontcoverand contents
page.I alsousedthe centringtoolsto centre textsandimagesonmy page,Ialso usedfadingand

I had to google quite alotof toolsasI was unsure onhow to use themas I wasnew to InDesignbut
these toolswere usefulastheymade mymagazine lookrealistic.
UsingCannon7d 24-105mm lenscamera:
Usingthis camerawas trickybut waseasierwhenIrealised
whatto do. It has a lotof differentbuttonsonitsuchas the
buttonfor focusingandthe buttonfor viewingall the pictures
youhad justtaken.I neededtotake a lotof picturesina row
but at the same time I neededtotell mymodelswhattodoas I
was takingthe pictures.
Lightinginthe photo-shootstudio:
Whenusingthe lightingpolesinthe studio,Ineededtotake intoconsiderationthe

Whentakingthe photosof mymodel wearingaAztectwo piece,Ineededdecidedtouse a

Whentakingthe photosof the modesinthe adidasclothing,Idecidedtouse a dimmerlightasthe
