3. I used a digital camera to take my photos, this allowed me to get
good quality photos for my magazines that would look
professional and affective. The camera being digital allowed me
to take multiple pictures and choose which ones were most
effective for my magazine.
4. I used Photoshop to to edit my
images. I wanted the images in my
magazine to have no background
so I took the pictures against a
white wall and used Photoshop to
edit the background out. The
reason I wanted to do this was
because I found that many
images in rock magazines didn't
have backgrounds.
5. I used Photoshop as it was the
best program that I had access
to for editing images. It is a
good program for this. I deleted
the background by using the
quick selection tool. Using this I
highlighted the parts I didn’t
want and simply deleted it.
6. I made my front cover, contents page and double page spread
in publisher. Publisher allowed me to make my magazine with a
conventional layout. Also also allowed me to use a range of
colours, fonts and images. Publisher also allowed me to take
fonts from the internet and easily use them to make my
magazine. Publisher has many useful tools like image cropping
and setting transparent colours, I used both of these a lot.
7. Before the production of Rockit! I didn’t know how to use
Photoshop at all, this was because I had no previous experience of
it. However now I feel fairly comfortable using it which could have
me in tasks in the future whether it be media related or not.
As well as developing my Photoshop skills I also feel more
comfortable using publisher. I have learnt how to things that
previously I didn’t know. This includes things that are fairly simple
like re ordering the items on the page.
8. I haven't just developed my skills while producing my magazine, I
have also developed skills making my evaluation. I now know how
to use websites like Blogger, SpicyNode, Animoto and Bubbl.us.
These are all good websites to now how to use as they will allow
me to present my work in a more creative way than just writing an
essay on Microsoft Work. Before working on my evaluation I hadn’t
used or even heard of some of the websites that I have not only
now used but also feel confident while using them.
