3. Research
• The strengths of research are when looking at existing products you can
get ideas to link it to my horror film. I used the sinister looks and smiles
which I had in all my movies which I researched and I used the graveyard
like other films I researched which used the same idea. I researched a
horror movie which was called clown house and it used short words and
ellipses for effect. This is what I did for my movie cover to create suspense.
Also, the lighting I used was dark and suspenseful which I took ideas from
the movie IT which has a lot of good scenes where the lighting is dark and
sets each scene to perfection.
My weaknesses were that I could have put more information and analysis
about the movies as I don’t think I put enough analysis of all the movies I
researched. Also, I made a survey on surveymonkey to each individual in
my class to get feedback on the age range and types of horror my audience
like.
4. Planning
• The planning helped massively because set out how the movie will be
ordered and I had a vary of pictures which I could choose from to use in
my movie trailer. As well as that, the planning helped my trailer as I had
lots of ideas of what the trailer would construct of and what scenes and
locations I could use as well as the colours which would be in the trailer. I
used ideas for a graveyard setting from different horror movies as
graveyard settings are very common in horrors.
• One of my weaknesses in this project was thinking of 3 different ideas and
I found it hard to get the third idea which took a long time to get which
meant I lost time and fell back a bit because of the length I took to
complete that power point. An example for this was not completing my
film trailer which was my preferred option but I ended up doing a DVD
cover and a poster.
5. Time Management
• No I didn’t manage my time well as I wanted to do a DVD cover which I
completed , a poster which I also completed but I fell short with the
original idea of the film trailer as I took too long on other aspects of my
product. This took up a lot of my time and I only did the two of a DVD
cover and a poster but I was disappointed I couldn’t get the film trailer
completed.
6. Technical Qualities
Similarities
- The narrative is the
same as they are
being hunted for the
mistakes they have
committed in their
life.
- The killers are hiding
their identity by
wearing masks.
Differences
-the colours are different as my movie
poster is dark and spooky whereas Saw
has bright colours and it jumps out at
you
-In my movie they are being punished
by the clown because they killed him
and in saw they are being punished
because they have committed sin in
their lives.
-the killers are different and mine is
unique as I made it completely up.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
In my opinion I think my work has come out very good and fits the
image of what I wanted to create and it will be a good hit. The
strength is the wording as they are lettered in headstones which
are in graveyards which my movie is located. Also the text was
clear and easy to read so my audience will know the name of the
movie they will be watching. One example of an area I think came
out good was the ghostly affect of the clown which is dead and is
hovering over the cast as he has come back from the dead.
My weaknesses in this product was cutting out the people to fit
them at the bottom as it took a long time to do and it could have
been edited more neater as there are rough edges around the
characters.
8. Audience Appeal
I appealed to my audience as they liked horror movies which wasn’t normal
and has phsycopathic characters in movies. This is like mine as the clown is
not normal and has mental issues which makes the character more jumpy.
Also, my setting is a haunted house in a graveyard and my audience prefer
dark, spooky graveyards which is exactly like my movie which helps as they
will want to come and watch the film and will definitely enjoy as the results
show.

don’t think I could have added anymore detail.
14. Peer Feedback Summary

could have also put some punchlines and catchy
phrases to gain the readers attention a bit more.
