The red background is
a symbol for blood
and death which is the
main storyline in the
movie.
The title is different
in size to attract the
readers attention
and make the reader
think and look as to
why this is done.
The fear in the eyes of the
person make it known to the
audience their fear and nerves
in this moment of the film. And
this makes the audience think
and intrigued as to what
happens. Does she die? Or
does she survive?
The blood dripping effect
gives a tantalizing feel as to
what the movie could be
about, and the audience will

The actor in the picture is
upside down and upright
on both sides which is
interpretating time travel
and how it can run
forwards and backwards,
up and down like a
hourglass.
The dark clouds could be
a reference to a bad
dream the actor is in or a
nightmare.
The image size is very large
and big compared to the
words which shows the poster
is trying to tell you about the
movie through the picture
and the visuals more than the
words and title.
The poster looks as if it is
on an axis and is in a
loophole going round and
round in circles, which is
like the movie which
goes back and forth in
time.
The poster makes you
think harder and makes
you intrigued as to what
messages the poster is
giving the audience
about the film.
The subtle touches of the actor being made like a
hourglass, the clouds being a dream gives the
idea of reverse phsycology but not directly as it is
within subtle clues on the poster engaging them
and making the audience think and use their
minds and brain.

14. Production techniques
The Tenet
They filmed people doing various things and reversed it and watched
that. That was how the stunt department worked, they filmed
themselves doing something, reversed it, and then they watched that
film and learned how the movement was and the weight a body
would feel like in terms of timing. So, they were mimicking exactly
what they looked like when they were reversed, just from the foot
falls and the bounce and how the timing looked.
As well as that, there was no green screens which were used and he
blew up a real plane to provide the most immersive and believable
experience for the audience, highlighting his dedication to the film.
15. Production techniques
The Tenet
• One of the highlights of the film was seeing
Hoyte Van Hoytema talk about shooting IMAX.
They tried to make most of the effects
practically and capture it in camera. Van
Hoytema was operating those cameras
handheld, which is not an easy task even for a
seasoned cinematographer.
16. Production Techniques
The Tenet
• Regarded as an auteur and postmodern
filmmaker, Nolan is partial to elliptical editing,
documentary-style lighting, hand-held camera
work, natural settings and real filming
locations over studio work. As well as that, he
also favours practical effects over computer-
generated imagery and is a proponent of
theatrical exhibition.
18. Interview 1
1)Do you think the production technique is good to
do as it is very complicated trying to do scenes in
reverse and do you think it can be pulled off?
I think the technique of including scenes that are in
reverse in a product, is a great idea because it
makes the item unique and will keep your targeted
audience entertained as well as allowing you to win
over your viewers and understand their personal
preferences through their responses.
19. Interview 1
• Observation: My interviewee likes the idea of scenes being reversed as it makes the
movie unique for them and different which will win over the target audience and get
personal preferences through their responses which relates to the film and category of
film as the audience like the genre.
• What this says about my audience: This shows that the audience
are interested in the genre I have chosen and also the way I have
changed it to be reversed which doesn’t normally occur in horror
films which makes it more interesting for them and will make them
want to go out their way to watch it straight away.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will be
very interesting and fun for the audience as majority of my
audience are into the movie having reversed scenes and telling the
script and movie in a different, unique way which makes the movie
more scary and unexpected compared to a usual horror film.
20. Interview 2
2)How do you feel the movie is and does it fit the
description and plot as to how I described the film
would be on my questionnaire research?
As an interviewee I can see that the results in your
questionnaire fits your description of your movie
which makes it easier in order to produce your final
product and incorporate your audiences
perspectives to make it more suited to them.
21. Interview 2
• Observation: The interviewee has has seen that the movie fits with the
description which I have said it will be from the questionnaire survey. This
makes it easier to produce my final product as I can then incorporate the
audiences perspectives in the film to make it suited for them and will
encourage them to go watch it.
• What this says about my audience: My product will attract my audience
straight away as I have included everything which my audience want to
see and this will attract them to go watch the movie which I produce.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My product fits the
description of a horror film which I have said and I will do which attracts
the audience wanting to see these horror, gory scenes but the suspense
and making the movie unique with the reverse scene helps different
audiences who are not really into horror films but because it is different
and not normal for a horror film to be in reverse it will help attract people
who are not really into horror as there is lots of different things happening
making the movie more interesting.
