3. Research
• The strengths of my research was that the movies which I analysed had
very great backgrounds to them which involved clowns and this helped me
what I wanted to do as I added ideas from them to my final product.
As well as that, the movies in which I researched had very excellent lighting
which is very good to have especially in horror films when there is a very
spooky scene with a ray of bright light behind which glow up the character
and makes them look very scary.
The weakness was that I couldn’t find any movies similar at the beginning
and was struggling to find any but I kept on persisting and found some and
also got one sent to me by my tutor who helped me massively with the
product she sent me to talk about. As well as that, I could have also filmed
little bits which I could have used to see how it contrasted with the movies
which I researched.
4. Planning
• The strengths of my planning gave a clear structure and pattern of how my
movie would turn out and the scenes were made on storyboard which is a
very good website to make a template of what my movie would look like
before I actually make it. As well as that , this website helped me think
about scenes more and the colours and things which would be in them to
make it more interesting to watch for viewers.
• The weaknesses of my planning Power point was that I could have looked
at more films and their filming techniques with how they use cameras and
the lighting they use for their horror movies. As well as that, I could have
also actually watched the movies which I researched as then I could have
actually seen myself how they made the lighting ,scenes, the camera
angles and filming techniques to help with my own movie which wiould
have made mine a lot more creative and greater.
5. Time Management
• Yes I definitely managed my time well as I am up to date so far with all my
work and I have completed it to a sufficient level which I will be pleased
with and also my tutor will also be pleased with. As well as that, I have
completed my project in time but if I had more time then maybe could
have actually filmed clips rather than just pictures which I used for my
FMP and if I filmed this then I could have also used the music and haunted
sound effects which I was planning to use but I ended up not using them
as I havn’t filmed anything which I would have used for the film which I
was going to do such as haunted and classical music.
6. Technical Qualities
Similarities
The main point vocal point of my movie
is similar to a movie which I research
called IT and this movie also has a a
group of teens who killed a clown and
ten years later also they grow older to
then get haunted messages from the
returning clown who has come back
from the dead but mine has different
scenes and a completely different twist
ending which is very surprising.
Differences
The differences between my movie to the
movie IT ,is that the scenes at the
beginning they are playing football in my
movie whereas in the movie IT they are
on a bike ride. As well as that, my movie
has more dark, haunted colours as my
film is set in a haunted church which goes
with my dark colours whereas the IT movie
Is filmed outside therefore the bright,
vigilant colours
7. Aesthetic Qualities
On the left hand side my picture is more horror like as the dark, illuminous
blue colour gives a dark, horror feel and also the viewpoint in first person is as
if your in the characters eyes and it looks more realistic with the raindrops as if
it is on the camera.
On the right hand side however it is different as there is more lights and bright
colours which also make the man look haunted and like a ghost which looks
more scary as the he is like a black shadow in the bright light.
If I had to improve on my picture it would probably be the floor in my picture
which I increased the contrast but if you look closely it doesn’t look real and
looks quite cartoon like which I could have improved by leaving the floor when
I edited it.
8. Audience AppealMy movie affects my audience as
they like horror films with a lot of
suspense and twists this is
shown in the film I have prepared
and want to film as the ending is
a massive twist to how it started
and there is a lot of suspense in
majority of the scenes to build up
the tension till the end where the
big finale of the film takes place.
This is proved as the dead clown
then comes back to haunt the
teens and possesses one of the
people from the group and which
they find out from and help him
survive but the twist comes when
there is another person also
possessed which no one except
the person possessed knows
about and leaves the movie on a
great, big cliff hanger.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– The aspect I like the most with the photography is the
way you have made each one eerie and used different
angles with the camera to show off your own skills.
Also, the natural modern landscape of the pictures are
really good
What improvements could have been made to the
product? The pictures are great but to make it even
better you could add a few lighter ones from the
ones which have been taken.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the different colour contrast with the
orange and blue which bring out the nature in the
photo to give a sense of eeriness and realness of
the horror film you are making.
What improvements could have been made to
the product? Maybe use some different types
of photography linked with horror such as
indoor scenes also.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– The affects you used really drastically changed the
mood of the pictures. The orange through the window
panes and the blue illuminated gates work particularly
well.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? The blue one is a bit too blue so it
doesn’t look as real but if you change the opacity
of that one then it would make it look much more
realistic.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback? I agree about the picture with the
blue bars being too blue and not as real so
changing the opacity of the blue will help this.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback? I disagree with making some
photos lighter as it is a horror film and horror
films are usually mainly dark and haunted.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
Based on my peer feedback I would definitely work with the tools of
toning and changing the colours in the picture to make it more
lighter and easier to see the main picture.
As well as that, the pictures being blue makes it look a bit fake and as
if it has been maybe taken from the internet and not taken
physically from yourself.
Also, I could have had indoor scenes such as locked up scenes and
trying to get scenes where it is in their perspective when being
threatened by the clown in their own home so it makes the audience
feel as if they are apart of the film and enjoy it though roughly.
