• I chose to look at advertising for my first film section. This is
because they are all short films that need to get there point
across quickly. I found that these will help me in my FMP and
at future projects in university for projects that are quick and
snappy. in the adverts that I watched, they all had different
styles. Such as one of them being fully black and white. I like
they way that they set the video being in portrait and being
black and white as this makes it stand out to the audience
and as it is only on for a short time, you want to make sure
the audience is fully focused the whole time.

• As in past projects and future projects I have/ will animate
characters. I thought it would be interesting to watch film
done in the animation format. Out of all of them, my
favourite was the 6th one about an elderly couple holding up
their retirement home because of a hand full of toffees. I
thought this was a twist that I didn’t expect when I started to
watch it. This is also unexpected for people of their age
which adds to the comical value

• I chose to look at a documentary for a film section. This is
because I am currently making a documentary and I thought
that It would good to see how another creator used a
documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this
as it will help with future projects in university for projects
that are detailed and in this format. As I'm not the biggest
fan of documentary work I found that I wasn’t interested at
certain parts. I also found that it was a little hard to follow at
times.

The Deathless woman Documentary

• My next 6 films where comedy. I chose this as for my FMP I
wanted to add some comical traits into it and think that
these might show me some techniques that I could use. A
film that stood out to me was one called greasy spoon. This
had two lads in a café catching up. What I liked most about
this was that the café background gradually changed into a
hipster spot. This is a technique which I liked. I also inspired
me for some transitions for my FMP.

• I chose to look at a documentary for a film section. This is
because I am currently making a documentary and I thought
that It would good to see how another creator used a
documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this
as it will help with future projects in university for projects
that are detailed and in this format. These 6 films have
different ways of portraying it. Such as colour. The first one
was set with more of a black and white saturation while
others where full colour. I found that this effect how it made
me feel, i.e feeling more interested.

• I chose to look at a documentary for a film section. This is
because I am currently making a documentary and I thought
that It would good to see how another creator used a
documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this
as it will help with future projects in university for projects
that are detailed and in this format. I found that this was
informative and I like the way that they brought over the
information. The interview is something that I will want to
try do for my documentary.

• I chose to look at a documentary for a film section. This is
because I am currently making a documentary and I thought
that It would good to see how another creator used a
documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this
as it will help with future projects in university for projects
that are detailed and in this format. One that I was most
interested in was about two grannies living peacefully. This
showed their living ways which I found curious and hw they
survive.

• As in past projects and future projects I have/ will animate
characters. I thought it would be interesting to watch film
done in the animation format. I found that this family
friendly format would be good for me to watch for one of my
last films as it is a genre where I haven’t experience much. It
is also something that didn’t interest me. From watching
these they have a innocent and educational feel to them. As
they are aimed for children, it feels like they are trying to
educate and entertain them at the same time.

• My next 6 films where comedy. I chose this as for my FMP I
wanted to add some comical traits into it and think that
these might show me some techniques that I could use. My
favourite out of these was one called breakdown. At first it
started of a normal breakdown but the comical side comes
out eth their reactions and to what comes to save them from
their breakdown. Some of the others I didn't find as funny,
which I thought lost interest in them.

Masterclass 1
• As I am interested in post production and editing, I thought
that It would be good to watch this masterclass. This
focussed on the VFX that goes in on blockbuster films such as
spiderman, star wars and captain marvel. This mindset made
the think about my FMP as that will be heavily post
production. It will also help me with future university
projects. This taught me about the process of making
landscape. This was useful as I had an InSite of how to make
them which will allow me to try create landscapes in future
projects.

Masterclass 2
• As I am interested in post production and editing, I thought
that It would be good to watch this masterclass. This mindset
made the think about my FMP as that will be heavily post
production. It will also help me with future university
projects. This taught me about the process editing. I find this
to be useful as one of the biggest things of a product is the
editing. Seeing a professionals process was inspiring of how I
can portray my work and editing.

University Showcase
• I have chosen this university showcase as their main target
that they are talking about it visual effects in the post
production side of the industry. This is something that really
fascinated me. As I am interested in post production and
editing, I thought that It would be good to watch this. Their
talk focused on the entry points into getting into this
medium of the industry. From real people who do VFX to
graduates they all had their own thing to say and how they
could get into the industry.

  • 4. Films 1 • I chose to look at advertising for my first film section. This is because they are all short films that need to get there point across quickly. I found that these will help me in my FMP and at future projects in university for projects that are quick and snappy. in the adverts that I watched, they all had different styles. Such as one of them being fully black and white. I like they way that they set the video being in portrait and being black and white as this makes it stand out to the audience and as it is only on for a short time, you want to make sure the audience is fully focused the whole time.   • 5. Films 2 • As in past projects and future projects I have/ will animate characters. I thought it would be interesting to watch film done in the animation format. Out of all of them, my favourite was the 6th one about an elderly couple holding up their retirement home because of a hand full of toffees. I thought this was a twist that I didn’t expect when I started to watch it.   • 6. Films 3 • I chose to look at a documentary for a film section. This is because I am currently making a documentary and I thought that It would good to see how another creator used a documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this as it will help with future projects in university for projects that are detailed and in this format. As I'm not the biggest fan of documentary work I found that I wasn’t interested at certain parts. I also found that it was a little hard to follow at times.   • 7. Films 4 • My next 6 films where comedy. I chose this as for my FMP I wanted to add some comical traits into it and think that these might show me some techniques that I could use. A film that stood out to me was one called greasy spoon. This had two lads in a cafĂ© catching up. What I liked most about this was that the cafĂ© background gradually changed into a hipster spot. This is a technique which I liked. I also inspired me for some transitions for my FMP. FILM TITLE FILM GENRE The world is strange in times of change Comedy
  • 8. Films 5 • I chose to look at a documentary for a film section. This is because I am currently making a documentary and I thought that It would good to see how another creator used a documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this as it will help with future projects in university for projects that are detailed and in this format. These 6 films have different ways of portraying it. Such as colour. The first one was set with more of a black and white saturation while others where full colour. I found that this effect how it made me feel, i.e feeling more interested. This is because I am currently making a documentary and I thought that It would good to see how another creator used a documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this as it will help with future projects in university for projects that are detailed and in this format. I found that this was informative and I like the way that they brought over the information. The interview is something that I will want to try do for my documentary. This is because I am currently making a documentary and I thought that It would good to see how another creator used a documentary style to portray their project. I also chose this as it will help with future projects in university for projects that are detailed and in this format. One that I was most interested in was about two grannies living peacefully.   • 11. Films 8 • As in past projects and future projects I have/ will animate characters. I thought it would be interesting to watch film done in the animation format. I found that this family friendly format would be good for me to watch for one of my last films as it is a genre where I haven’t experience much. It is also something that didn’t interest me. From watching these they have a innocent and educational feel to them. As they are aimed for children, it feels like they are trying to educate and entertain them at the same time. My favourite out of these was one called breakdown. At first it started of a normal breakdown but the comical side comes out eth their reactions and to what comes to save them from their breakdown.   • 13. Masterclass 1 • As I am interested in post production and editing, I thought that It would be good to watch this masterclass. This focussed on the VFX that goes in on blockbuster films such as spiderman, star wars and captain marvel. This mindset made the think about my FMP as that will be heavily post production. It will also help me with future university projects. This taught me about the process of making landscape. This was useful as I had an InSite of how to make them which will allow me to try create landscapes in future projects. MASTERCLASS TITLE Industrial Light and magic
  • 14. Masterclass 2 • As I am interested in post production and editing, I thought that It would be good to watch this masterclass. This mindset made the think about my FMP as that will be heavily post production. It will also help me with future university projects. This taught me about the process editing. I find this to be useful as one of the biggest things of a product is the editing. Seeing a professionals process was inspiring of how I can portray my work and editing.   • 15. University Showcase • I have chosen this university showcase as their main target that they are talking about it visual effects in the post production side of the industry. This is something that really fascinated me. As I am interested in post production and editing, I thought that It would be good to watch this. Their talk focused on the entry points into getting into this medium of the industry. From real people who do VFX to graduates they all had their own thing to say and how they could get into the industry. SHOWCASE TITLE Visual Effects: Industry Breakthrough
