Reedâs 18 points and 10 rebounds helped No. 9 Tarleton defeat No. 4 Angelo State 85-67. It was Reedâs LSC-
leading eighth double-double of the season, which ranks second in the nation. Reed was 6-11 from the floor
and 6-6 from the free-throw line in the win. Reed followed with a 17-point, 8-rebound performance in a win on

percent shooting and nine rebounds in the two wins as Tarleton improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in the Lone
Star Conference.
MENâS DEFENSIVE
Xavier Smith, Tarleton State University, JR, Forward, Richardson, Texas, Plano East HS
Smith posted nine points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench for the No. 9-ranked Texans in an
85-67 win over No. 4 Angelo State. Smith led the Texansâ defense in limiting Angelo State to season lows in
points (67) and field goal percentage (36.5) when the Rams came in averaging 95 points per game. Smith
also prevented the Rams from a single second-chance point, the only time all season for ASU. Smith followed
with four blocks and four rebounds in a tough road win over A&M-Kingsville. With the help of 6-foot-8 Smith

Jordan Stevens, Midwestern State University, poured in a season-high 31 points to lead No. 6 Midwestern

Ladarius Stewart, Eastern New Mexico University, after missing practice and game time over the holiday

knocked off No. 4 Angelo State 93-88 on the road in San Angelo. Carson was exceptional scoring 10 points in

from the floor and led the Lions with 7 assists.
Erin Maxwell, Texas Womanâs University, led the

rebounds and four blocks against No. 1 West Texas
A&M. With 40 seconds left in the game and the
Pioneers leading 55-53 against ENMU, she recorded
her fourth block of the game on a jumper by ENMUâs
Mikaehla Conner and grabbed her 14th rebound
to seal the win for TWU. Maxwell also helped the

anchored the TexAnn defense that allowed Angelo
and Kingsville to shoot just .366 from the floor and
average 60.0 points per game, which included the
leagueâs top-scoring offense entering Wednesday
night (Angelo) and the leagueâs top scorer (Taylor
Dorsey), who Tarleton held to just two points.
Johna McClelland, Eastern New Mexico
University, led a superlative defensive effort by the
Greyhounds last week, which limited the opposition
to an average of 67.3 points and a .358 shooting
percentage over three games. Her seven blocked
shots and 19 defensive rebounds limited offensive
opportunities for the three LSC opponents, while her
14 offensive boards increased ENMUâs possession
time. McClelland had four blocks and a pair of steals
against Cameron, in addition to 14 points. She also
rejected three shots against the Pioneers.
Amari Jones, Texas A&M University - Commerce,
continued to be a big presence on the court in the

rebounder, paced the Lions in rebounding, steals,
and blocks. Her best performance came against
Texas A&M-Kingsville where Jones recorded her third
