The camera will start to
move in, but it will cut

the next shot.
The facial expression of
the character will be
composed showing no
emotion. The
performance will be the
actor slowly strolling
down the street. Dark
and dull the lighting will
be with a few bright
street lamps glowing in
the distance. To make
sure the actor looks the
part he will wear a suit
and a tie, he will be
smart and neat. He will
also wear a bowler’s hat.
The prop will be a fake
knife. To start with the
setting will be an
abandoned street;
houses will be visible
behind the character.
4 Shallow focus, rule
of thirds
composition, and a
medium close up
shot.
The camera will move
with the character,
while he is walking
down the street. This
will be a track/dolly
movement.
5 Establishing shot. The camera will not
move, it is used to show
the audience where the
scene is set at.
To perform the actor will
be reaching to open the
door. It will be day time
so the lighting will be
bright but not too bright.
The investigator will be
wearing a suit, tie, and a
badge. His props would
also be the badge and
his gun. The scene will
be set outside of the
dinner, it will first show
the full dinner then it
will be the door. The
dinner will be retro to go
with the theme of noir.
6 Deep focus
composition,
medium shot.
Match on action when
the investigator is
coming through the
door. The match on
action is to take the
audience to the next
scene.
7 Long shot, deep
focus composition.
The actor will have an
intense facial expression,
when walking. The
investigator will
continue to walk
through the door and
search for his co-worker,
and then he will proceed
to walk over to the table.
The lighting will be

audience that the
character is looking for

Both characters will be
wearing suits, ties, hats,
and dress shoes. Some
props that will be used
are glasses with drink in
them, guns, and bowler
hats. Tables will be set
out in the dinner; the
character will look
around to see the full
setting of the place.
10 Deep focus
composition,
medium shot.
The camera will stay still
till the next scene; it will
be pace so that the
table and the characters
are in the scene.
Facial expressions will
change throughout the
conversation; their faces
will mainly be straight
because it is a serious
subject they are on
about. They will perform
natural, but be glancing
around before they start
the dialogue this will
show they are being
secretive. Both
characters will be
wearing suits, and dress
shoes. The may be
carrying a gun with them
for protection. They will
be sat at a table, with
drinks placed in front of
them, showing that the
characters feel
comfortable to drink
there.
11 Extreme long shot,
two shot.

The camera will not
move after it has been
put in place. This is to
make sure that the 180
degree rule is not
broken. Making the
conversation flow
properly.

14 Extreme close up,
deep focus
composition.
The camera will not
move, it will focus on
the face of the
investigator.
The facial expression of
the actor will be stern,
this will be explained
why the narration is
playing over the top of
this scene. The lighting
will be shady as it is on a
night time, only small
busts of light from the
street lamps will be
seen. The investigators
will be wearing suits,
ties, and dress shoes.
They will also have

badges and guns as
props.
15 Long shot
(Establishing), deep
focus composition.
The camera will zoom in
so that the audience
can see the characters
more clearly. This will
lead onto the next shot.
Actors will be used to
make facial expression;
these expressions will
change through out
there conversation. As
the gang are content
with the murder of
people during their
conversation there will
be a lack of remorse.
Being in a gang they will
be performing casual
and naturally. As they
are in there hide out
they will be conferrable
talking about anything
between each other.
This scene will have a
small light sourceAll of
the actors will be
wearing suits, and will be
neatly dressed. Their
hair will be neatly jelled
down, to make them
look professional. The
props that will be used is
a gun. The scene will be
set at the Scouts centre;
it will be shot in the hall
area. The hall looks run
down, which will work
for the scene as it is the
gang’s hide out.

leader once he has

it has been placed in
this is to ensure that
both characters are in
the shot.

The camera will be a
pan movement; this pan
movement will follow
the character while he
walks into the room.

The camera will have no
action till the next
camera shot; it will stay
the same level.
23 Close up shot,

The camera will stay on
the level with the
characters shoulders,
not moving in any way.
The gang member’s
facial expressions will
change throughout the
conversation. The main
gang leader will first of
all be angry, and the
gang member he is
talking to will be
confused and worried.
The other gang members
will be calming the gang
leader down. The gang
members will be
preforming there words

to make them sound
believable for the
audience. The lighting
will be harsh when the
leader is speaking
because he is angry, for
the others it will be a
brighter light source.
When the leader is no
longer angry he will
receive the same lighting
as the other characters.
Wearing suits will be the
gang, this will be there
costumes. They will wear
ties, and their hair will
be neatly gelled down.
Being the gang leader he
has a lot of worries so
darker make up will be
used under his eyes to
make him look warn
down. No much setting
will be seen as the
camera will be in shallow
focus composition, but
the walls and the floor of
the hall will be visible.
27 Extreme close up,
deep focus
composition.
The camera will zoom
out. It will zoom out
from the murder
weapon till the
investigator is in the
shot.
The lighting will be dull,
but bright enough to be
able to see the blood on
the knife. The only part
of the costume that will
be visible will be the
trousers. The prop will
be a fake knife; it will
have fake blood dripping
off from the end of it.
28 Medium shot, deep
focus composition
The investigators facial
expression will have no
emotion, as he is
thinking everything out
in his narration. He will
be lightly slouched over
showing he isn’t happy
with what he has done,
but to the end of the
scene he will stand up
tall and be alright with
what he has done. The
lighting will be dull but

the street lamps will
shows little glimpses of
light. Wearing a suit, tie,
and dress shoes will be
the inspector as part of
his costume. The prop
will be the knife and the
fake blood in his hand.
The setting will be an
abandoned street;
houses will be visible
behind the character.
29 High angle, long
shot.
The camera will first be
close to the actors face
so the audience can see
him die, then the
camera will zoom out to
show his body
motionless.
The gang leaders facial
expression will look in
pain then will go
motionless when he
dies. Performing the
scene will be the gang
leader, he will be acting
like he is dying and then
he will lie still to show he
has died. The lighting
will be dark because it is
night time, and only light
enough to see the actor
die within the scene. He
will be wearing a suit
with a tie and dress
shoes. Make up will be
used to make the
character look dead, his
face will be whiter. The
props will be the fake
blood on the gang
leader, and on the floor.
The setting will be the
dirty floor of the
abandoned street.
30 Long Shot, canted
angle.
The camera will
continue to zoom out,
and the character will
slowly walk into the
cameras shot.
The mysterious woman’s
face will be straight like
she expected this
outcome to happen. Her
costume will be all black
she will wear a black
dress and a big hat to
hide her identity. The
lighting will be limited
because it will be night
time, but the characters
will be visible. The
setting will be the

abandoned street with
the dead gang leader
laid on the floor. She will
have her hat as her prop.
31 Extreme close up
shot.
Crash zoom movement
will be used to show
that the character has
realised something, in
this case it is who killed
the gang leader.
The mysterious woman
will express through her
face that she now has
some information that
was not meant to be
known. She will perform
through her facial
expression she will
slowly show her face by
lifting her head up. The
pop that will be used will
be her hat which at first
will hid her face. The
actor will be wearing
make-up which will be
eyeliner, a dark lipstick,
and blusher on her
cheeks. Again as it is
night the lighting will be
limited, but there will be
enough to see the
character.
