2. For my magazine, I want one main colour alongside a different shade
of this colour with black and white. This is because I feel the
contrasting colours will not only make my magazine noticable but will
make my magazine visually appealing.
My first colour scheme I’ve chosen a rouge colour which would be the
colour sybolising importance. This is because it has very bold
connotations associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power,
determination as well as passion, desire, and love. Passion, strength
and power alongside a good energy are the main traits which I want
to make prominent my magazine as I feel it will appeal to my
magazine. I think black, grey and white alongside the light
pink will together look quite mature which again is the look
I’m going for in my magazine, but at the same time the colours
together aren’t over powering making my magazine easier to read.
3. This colour scheme of Purple, grey and black is slightly more dull then
my other chosen colour schemes as I want my magazine to be seen as
more mature. This is because I feel there is a gap in the market for this
target audience so it’s essential my magazine my colour scheme is right.
I’ve chosen purple as my main colour, again making the important
details prominent on the page. The purpose of this is to make the
information which I think could help increase sales on my magazine
visible. For example, an article on a popular, successful artist as they
are likely to have a larger fan base behind them. The connotations of
purple is related to dignity and ambition, which again are traits which
my artist will contain as I’m including both well known and upcoming
artists so ambition is key. The use of the duller colours is purely because
I think they work well together with out coming over powering giving
my magazine a mature, modern look which is also visually appealing.
4. My final colour scheme contains a more pastel tone. This is
because in my survey results, a pastel colour scheme is something a
large amount appealed to. I think colour schemes can be quite
restricted as I feel you should use one main colour alongside shades
and black and white. But I feel a good colour scheme is what will make
your magazine stand out on the shelf. The use of the pink as my main
colour is because it’s quite vibrant and therefore it’s visually appealing.
Pink is stereotypically a more feminine colour and despite the fact my
magazine is aimed at both genders I think if the main image is at a
high quality I feel the magazine will appeal to boys to. This colour
scheme isnt the most mature looking however I feel it will add a fun
and modern tone to my magazine which could potentially expand my
target audience. Personally, I think that visually these colours are the
most visually attractive although I’m not sure it will fit the tone of my
magazine in the way I would like.
