2. Process
The tools I used in this section of my final product is the “Key fade” tool , which makes
audio fade out to silence. This was used in my cuts as I would mispronounce words and cut
the audio out and fade it in with some other audio piece. I thought this was time
consuming as I would have to cut and remove each audio miss hap and drag the fade out
tool to construct my final piece. This tool also saved me from doing retakes as I could
construct it better and give the audio a natural flow to the listener. Therefore I do think if I
had more time I could achieve more detail and more quality audio if I hadn't messed
around and got confused with the fade out tool.
3. Process
The tool I used the most was the crop tool. I did this by highlighting the selected areas I do
not wish to add to my piece. It was called the “razor tool”, I liked it because the tool because
its quick and simple, it saved time and made a smooth edge to the audio. To move the audio I
used the mouse pointer. This made the work simple and effortless as you simply just clicked
on the audio you want to move and drag. The reason I choose this tool is to make the work
quick and accessible. I liked the tool that I used because its quick, simple and it saved time. I
used this for my audio speech and the music as seen in the image. I do think I could of
improved the editing/cropping as it did make the speech a bit robotic and strange.
4. Process
There were two types of editing format, here is an example of one. This give me multiple
chooses to edit the audio. There was a tempo tool which changed the speed of the audio
which gave the voice a deep voice or a high pitch, I did not use this as it would ruin and
destroy the podcast vibe, that I was wanting to achieve in my final product. I would also
miss out and lose valuable time if I were to change the tempo. Therefore I made a better
and more detailed sound quality. I do think I should of added more effects as it would
immerse the listener in the speech/podcast. Overall I do think I made the right choose in
not changing the tempo in my final product.
5. Process
I used the volume tool to change the volume to fit my voice and other audio. This made it
smother and gave it a natural flow to listeners. I do think the volume tool saved time and
made me focus on more important parts of the audio, than making the whole podcast quitter
or louder. The reason I liked it is because the tool was quick and simple, it saved time and
made a smooth edge to the audio. The reason I choose this tool was there was no other tool
like it. Either you made a new product or used this tool as for that it was worth my time and
helped me a lot. Overall I do think some audio was louder than other parts and some quite. I
would of liked to improve this but sadly I ran out of time.
6. Process
This is the effects tool bar, but unfortunately I did not use any effects as I ran out of time or
they were useless to my product. I do think overall, I wanted to add more effects such as
reverb which would make the effect of me talking really fast and would humour the audience
and make the product stand out more. I could also slow down my voice to also humour the
audience. I do think the pitch effect was not useful to my final product as it was funny.
Overall if I were to have more time I would add more effects and therefore widen the
audience. i would of wanted to use the noise reduction effect as I had noise in the last 5
seconds of my product. The noise does ruin the ending of my product as it makes the product
seem dull and boring. Therefore I would improve on time as the problem through out this
project was not having enough time. Therefore I would of got higher marks by reducing
background noise.
