2. Process
• I used adobe premier pro to create my audio
book, I began by creating a new project and
importing my morning routine audio I also
created that by recording on my phone and
emailing that to myself this was 22 seconds
long. Once imported I used the move tool to
move my main audio so far I found this simple
because I have used premier with other
projects and practising steps like this really
help me to learn and achieve the best
possible audio outcome I normally like to split
my audio into different sections because I find
it confusing having to re listen to each part
because I might be editing the wrong section
however this audio isn’t as long as my final
audio will be although I wish I had done this
because it would result with better strategies
and helps me a lot.
3. Process
Secondly, began to experiment
with different sound effects for
example these where door
slams and hairdryers and when
brushing my teeth I found
these off the internet, and
added my first one underneath
the actual full audio I created
how i did this was got to file
and import and use my USB
stick to save the sounds on
there instead of downloads as I
wouldn't’t be able to then use
them on a mac computer. I
downloaded the sounds as a
MP3 and found this also quite
simple after I got the hang of
it. I chose simple morning
routine sounds so my audience
would be able to understand
what is going on and recognize
the sound effects.
One of my favourite things when creating
audios is finding the sound effects because this
is when I'm able to search and try different
sounds and test them out and pick which I
prefer this process doesn’t take too long either,
I think sound effects also finish a audio off and
make them stand out and grab the audiences
attention a lot more.
4. Process
The sound in which I used to get them all of was
soundbible.com this was really helpful because
it had every single sound in which I was looking
for at a perfect volume, in this process I had
began to add a lot more sound effects and I kept
adding this below the full morning routine
audio. I shortened the sound effects down and
used the audio gain tool and moved this up, so
my audio was a lot louder for certain effects and
then added them using the move tool which fit
correctly with the audio. At first struggled with
finding sounds until I found this website. I tried
searching on YouTube, but the sounds came
across quite boring and not many matched with
things like e.g. a hairdryer. However I did begin
to over crowd myself with sounds this is when I
struggled because I had to many sounds saved
on the side and began to get mixed up and
confused this was a bit time consuming so I had
to look through and delete ones I didn’t want
therefore next time I will know to not pick to
many and chose for definite on the ones I like.
5. Process
Lastly, once I added all my sound effects and snipped
them down, I listened through to make sure it fit all
together and sounded correct. I increased the audio
gain and used the erase tool to remove every sound
because they where too long and I only wanted
them to last at least 4 seconds each time. Within my
audio I think I did add quite a lot of different sounds,
but they was all short. I was also happy with my
main audio because it didn't have any background
sounds therefore it didn't ruin the audio. I am also
happy with my experiment outcome and it matched
my plan beforehand on word. However my
weakness within most of my projects is audio as I do
struggle fitting an audio together because next time
I feel I should chose my characters more wisely and
people who fit with the character description
because I don’t think my audio sounded as formal
and professional as I would have liked it too, my
experiments for this also took up a lot of time so I
didn’t have the chance to try out other experiments
with rushing onto my other PowerPoints which
needed to be completed.
6. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your
final product?
• The elements in which I will include within my final product
is mostly the same process to how I created this
experiment's will use the same type of websites for the
sound effects and I will be importing my own sounds by
emailing them from my phone on the computer and
making sure the quality is high. I am also looking to add
sounds underneath each one so they play at the same time
I think this gives a good effect when listening to the audio
book. I will also write out a script beforehand just like I did
in the experiment because this helps me a lot so I don’t
have to make things up in my head and I will actually
understand a lot more. Therefore all these elements will
have a huge impact with my final project and make them
turn out a lot more professional and high standards.
