2. Process
The screenshot taken shows the first stage of my project, I have added to
background music to suit my vocal audio files. The music I found on YouTube,
this audio file was royalty free, so someone has made this piece of music and is
willing to allow other to use it and not get paid. Where as if you used songs in
the background that was owned by a company then there would be legal
issues. I could of possibly been fined for using someone else’s music. My
background music is used throughout the entirety of the audio book, the
reason for this is because I think it sounds better and I think people who listen
to it will get freaked out. The constant disturbing music in the background
helps create a more serious and unnerving atmosphere.
3. Process
My second stage is that I have added the other sound effects like, screams and edited the most
haunted episode, this way I can edit the project and just add the important parts of the video.
I have also edited the sound volume for the different audio’s, the first audio is the background
music. Which is a creepy ambient song without any lyrics.
The second audio file is the most haunted clips With the sound of ghost whistling and speaking.
These disturbing elements could be proceeded as sinister and scary if implemented properly into
audio books and movies. The differences in audio and sound is used to make the evidence more
clearer and making the background music lower pitched helps with making the other audio files
easier to hear. The audio I used, I didn’t create the file. I just used a sound sample video on
YouTube. But the main reason why I used this was because I couldn’t create a good enough
version myself, and it just didn’t sound right.
4. Process
This screenshot shows the individual effects and crossfades, they are
essential to making my project stand out and sound good with all these
different audio files combined. The way I do this is by adding the effects to
the individual audio files like the ghost crying, I used certain effects to give
it a static sound. I used this method to make it more believable that he is
using some old recording device. And that it actually authentic and not fake,
even though it is fake and completely created from scratch. The main goal it
to make it seem like it is real and is actually an audio file collected from a
student that recorded it on an old phone.
5. Process
The next thing I added was the third section of audio, this section was based on the theme
of a demonic spirit luring some teens into a trap. The audio reveals that there is a voice
saying “come over here and…” the sentence used could mean that the demon wants to
posses the people, it was perfect to make and adding into my project. I will add other
effects like scratching and a lower bass for the voice.
I made this audio with my friend billy, it was meant to be longer about 2 minutes but I've
just narrowed it down to the creepiest part. This was a good decision since it is a good
addition to my project and works really well and will sound much better once I have added
the voice over.
6. Process
My last step is adding in my audio file of my commentary over the audio book. I
also need to add a few effects to make it a bit better in terms of the quality. I had
to move the audio clips around since I wanted it to be in time the way I did this
was by recording the commentary files separately, I separated them into 3
sections. This was so useful and helpful and made it easier using the premiere
application. Since I didn’t have to record the entire script in one recording, so it
helped me do retakes if I messed up on the lines, and it was a lot more easier
because If I made a mistake towards the end of the recording then I would have to
do the entire recording again. I am very happy with how my work came out.
