Multimedia in the Classroom By: Irene Hart
Most Useful YouTube - I was able to use this as a research/teaching tool for the times I needed some re-teaching/reinforcement. Pixlr- I had so much fun using Pixlr! It took me a while to post my pictures because all I wanted to do was edit them some more. Animoto - I became a big fan of Animoto.  I had fun making my 30 second free video. I am looking forward to making more.
Challenges Computer Speak - At times the required reading became a bit much for me. Especially when talking file types. Audacity - I wasn’t a big fan of Audacity. But again mostly because I had to save the file in a specific format and for whatever reason it became frustrating. I tried to use an online slide show generator and was having little luck.  So I gave up and went to what I know.
Moodle I was a bit apprehensive about taking an on-line course. This was my first.  But I found moodle to be very user friendly! The freedom of the on-line course is a definite benefit.  I was able to work at my own pace.  I also enjoyed being able to see everyone’s projects. All in all I have new skills!  Although I have much more to learn I am proud of my efforts.
Using Images and Photography This  picture is of my friend Maggie .   Here is a before and after shot. Using Pilxr I was able to change her hair  and eye color.  I also gave  Her some  makeup!
Using Audio and Web Streams This was probably my least favorite of the projects.  I had some trouble and was a bit frustrated.  I also found the whole copyright issue to be very wordy. I decided to use a recording of a student reading aloud.  As part of a reading assessment the student reads  for a minute.  It should be a “fresh read,” something new.  The teacher notes any errors and uses a to calculate the WCPM (words correct per minute) score. The reason I decided to use this recording was because the parents  rarely get an opportunity to hear these recordings.  Now I have a way to share the audio with the parents.
Creating Video With Generators Like most, I used Animoto.  I really enjoyed this program and was very satisfied with the out come!
Posting Original Videos While I enjoyed editing this video I did have a little trouble.  My issues were most likely because it was my first attempt.  So after several attempts I was able to come up with something  I am proud of.
