Andreas initially had no ideas for the game but after learning it would be a 2D Mario-style game, considered a driving game. Andreas is creative with Photoshop and good at designing objects and scenery. The genre may involve simulation and action in virtual reality. Andreas will use 3rd person perspective mainly but some 1st person. Other ideas included racing and building. The mind map, mood board, and schedule were included to help develop the game idea and plan production.
2. Initial Reaction
As soon as we were told that we were planning today, nothing came to my head.
As soon as we were told about the age range for he game, I had a narrow idea of
the potential I could do; for example, violent games or adult humoured games.
After finding out we are making 2D games, super Mario based games came to
mind. But after a while, I've had an idea of doing a driving game. Its something I
can get creative with when making the car and the scenery. I am good at creativity
when designing certain objects and certain scenery in Photoshop. The genre could
be simulation and action, as the game involves something in virtual reality. I may
do a mix of 3rd and 1st person (mainly 3rd) as it shows more detail.
Other ideas:
Racing
building
6. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
• There is a repetition of the amount of cars in each image. I've notice that I do
include a lot of cars in the mood board, mainly cop cars fast cars. There is also a lot
of blue and yellow/green used in the images, from the police colours and the
scenery in the top left image. The majority of the images seem to be bright with a
light back/foreground. There seems to be action or something involved with action
in the images, for example police chases and hunting down for a castle.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• The mood board helps me think of the different styles and angle that my game can
be. It also helps me with inspiration of the design style of the car. It helps me have
an idea of the types of cars used, and the layout used in it, based from the tone of
the images.
