The marketing campaign for the film "Gone" will include a mysterious television advert using a sinister clip to convey the horror genre without revealing too much of the plot. Posters will be displayed on public transport like buses to target their audience and in shopping centers and high streets with high foot traffic. A website will be created to provide updated information and preview trailers while maintaining an air of mystery around the film. Social media accounts will also be made on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to engage more of the audience and hold competitions to increase popularity and success.
3. Television adverts
We will have a television advert for our film ‘Gone’. It
will only be a short clip as it will leave an enigma and
seem mysterious. It will not be a long trailer, but
instead a slow sinister part of the film so that the genre
is clear to the audience. The advert will show what the
film is called, when it will be released and also the film
certificate so that the audience knows that it contains a
good amount of horror.
4. Posters
We will design a poster which will be put up in
numerous different places. One of these places will be
on big double decker buses as this type of transport is
used by many of the audience which we are targeting.
Also, buses are constantly on the move and they are
quite hard to miss. Many people will look at these
posters and will want to find out more about the film.
Another place in which we will put posters is in
shopping centres and high streets as nearly everyone
walks through/past these places.
5. Website
We will make a website which people can visit to see
updated information and preview trailers of the film.
This will encourage and excite people to come and
watch our film. It will contain a gallery which will show
images from the film so that the audience knows what
they are in for, however the gallery will make sure that
enigma is available.
6. Influenced Film
Sinister is an influenced film as it is a classic
modern horror which contains all of the conventions. It
also uses similar themes such as children and death. The
producers of Sinister used many different advertisement
techniques such as trailers, posters and social networking
accounts. Sinister was a successful film and some would
say that it was partly down to the good use of
advertisement skills.
7. Social media
We will create accounts on social networking sites such
as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This is so that we
can reach out to a wider audience and connect to them
instantly and easier. We will also hold competitions on
these social networking sites to engage with people
and this will also increase the films popularity and
furthermore success.
