2. PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION
C O M PA N Y
We decided to use CandI studios and Sky view films, both
independent small companies which branch out to local audiences.
3. CANDI STUDIOS AND SKY
VIEW FILMS
We had decided to use smaller independent local distribution and
production companies as the film was a low budget film meaning that it
couldn’t afford to use bigger distribution companies such as Paramount or
MGM who work on a global base and they wouldn’t want to put their
money into a thriller made by amateurs or into low budget films. We also
chose candi studios and sky view films as they are London based
companies who can help us reach audiences on a local scale.
4. WHY DID WE CHOOSE CANDI STUDIOS?
We had chosen CandI Studios as it is a local independent
distribution company who could offer us a cinema screening, a dvd
release and for them to put it on social media websites which would
attract local and wider audiences depending on how far it was shared.
We also chose candi studios as they could help us become viral by
sharing our film on social media websites.
5. WHY DID WE CHOOSE SKY VIEW FILMS?
We decided to use Sky View Films as it was made by us as we
wanted to make the films on our own terms and not have our filmed
tweaked and changed by producers who may have not been happy
with the final product.
Using our own production company gave us the chance to run free
with our imagination and be able to handle our own budget to make
this thriller.
6. WHAT OUR PRODUCTION/DISTRIBUTION
C O M PA N I E S D I D F O R U S
They were able to provide us with a 250 dvd release meaning it can
reach a local audience
A screening at a local cinema, so people could come watch it and
write reviews on it, tell their friends about it, widening our audience.
To share it on social media websites such as vimeo, facebook,
twitter, etc. which could help us reach a nationwide audience if it is
shared enough.
7. SKY VIEW FILMS AND
CANDI STUDIOS
We chose these small companies as we didn’t want to the film to be
a massive hit at the box office and to be known worldwide just
because it was made by bigger companies.
We wanted the satisfaction of making our own film product that
we were happy with and not to create a generic film.
