4. Billboard advertising.
Billboard advertising is a great way for a company to
get there product across to a wider audience. Often
being put up in highly populated areas such as
motorways or town centres as millions of people will
go by and see it every single day. When people see
these billboards they will likely look into the film for
example more then maybe consider buying it.
Increasing revenue for the company.
5. Bus stops.
Films and other products are often advertised on bus stops
worldwide, due to the fact that they are located all
throughout cities and popular town centres… there is always
someone at the bus stop. This ensures that the product
being advertised will always be catching the eye of
someone, somewhere. Therefore making the bus stop a
perfect location for advertising.
6. Underground/Train station
The train station/Underground in London, England is a
perfect example as of why choosing this location is a
great way of getting your product across to a wide
audience. Roughly 2,000,000 people go on and out of the
train station daily, so it is inevitable that you will gain
more custom due to advertising here.
7. Colour Pallette.
Colour pallettes in films can determine the atmosphere and
mood of the scenes being displayed.
Its common to see the use of different colour families
whether it be in film production or art etc. the colours and
tones can create feelings of warmth, cold, comfort,
anticipation or fear.
10. What I am going to include in my film.
Within my film I am going to include several elements of horror movies, including the dark scenes,
ominous music and camera angles along with inspiration from popular films such as insidious and the
conjuring to ensure my film invokes fear but also curiosity within my audience and gives the urge to
watch more and maybe hope for a follow up movie.
Along with my film, I am going to create a line of merchandise to boost revenue and fan-base for my
movie. The merchandise line including items such as cups, accessories (bracelets etc.), hoodies, t-shirts
and so on.
11. Within my design I will be using the internet along with the huge billboards and advertisements
around me to draw inspiration for how I am going to present my film and advertisements.
For example I will take a look at the format of how usual horror advertisements are displayed whether
it be on the side of a building or bus stop to generate a rough idea of how to go about my
advertisement before i make it my own by adding my own elements to it, whether that be by drawing
or unique fonts etc.
Creating a social media page for my film is also a great way to advertise it, as in today’s world social
media is at the centre of it all. Arguably being the platform needed to generate as much exposure to
your product as possible as it can develop a large following and gain sponsors to hype the film up
before its release.
12. The purpose of my film is to entertain yet intrigue and each people of the true reality of the
world but also with my own horror twist to ensure that the viewer is intrigued and enjoying
themselves all whilst being educated.
I might use certain characters to resemble battles in peoples everyday lives, whether that be
some demons or monsters or ordinary people that will either represent things such as greed
and disease yet some also may be there for the sole reason of the viewers having a character
to relate too, as it is commonly seen within the film industry there is typically 1 to 3 at the
most characters that is put there for the audience to relate to and feel comfortable with. This
is done as it ensures there is a connection between the character(s) in the film and the ones
viewing, most likely ensuring the product will do well and carry on to do so if any more
releases are added to the franchise down the line.
13. All in all, my main goal for my promotional campaign is to
create huge billboards along with adverts and hidden clues
and merchandise around the city/area that I'm promoting in to
get an audience of people enjoying themselves and having fun
before they have even viewed the film. This then boosting the
likelihood of them actually watching my movie, that then
boosting sales and a fan base which is the main goals.
I personally would like a unique billboard, one with crazy
designs that doesn’t just look like a bunch of colours when
driving past it on the motorway, I need to ensure that my
design captures the eye of everyone who strolls, drives or even
fly's past to make sure they at least give it a look.
14. Things that inspired me are horrors such as the conjuring franchise, insidious films, but also
old films such as psycho and the shining. As it is the old films like these which give format for
a great film if you know how to take them and use them affectively.
Another film which was hugely criticised yet also great in its own way was a clock work
orange (Kubrick) as it was very abrupt and rough however it is this buzz around the film that
will shot it up into a position where it is remembered forever and always spoken about. A bit
of controversy within a film is always great to draw in viewers.
