3. Research
With the research it was very
effective finding radio shows similar
to what I wanted. This gave me a
good idea to show how it works.
While audience profiling was a bit
more difficult due to the fact it was a
different profile we had to go down
entirely.
4. Planning
We made an experiment
show to test out how we
would of done the final
product as well as how we
would do the final idea. This
set the bar quite high for the
final product. Unforchantly
we set it too high therefor
having to settle with a quite
stair case and a portable
recorder. We got the job done
but the standard was not to a
nature of what expected.
5. Time Management
The time we had to do the
production was perfect the only
issue was the use of it. I spent
more time writing the script and
getting music than actually
recording in the studio. This
ment I couldn’t rent out a studio
in time. This meant we had to
adapt fining a quite area to
record and the mic / studio. I
was able to finish the work in
time.
6. Technical Qualities
IGN Podcasts:
• Talked about upcoming
games
• Talked about how games
where good and how squeals
do better than the 1st game.
• Gaming news (console
release)
• Off topic conversation when
they're leading off topic.
My podcast
• Talked about my favourite
games. And why you should
buy them.
• Talked about Xbox exclusive
games as well as how long I've
been using the console for.
• How the games play out and
how they got onto the list.
• talked about the game in depth
and how they got onto the list.
7. Aural Qualities
What I liked about my product was the use of background
music, while the radio show was on. As well as the music
opening and ending making it sound like a proper professional
radio show with certain times songs to play.
If I could of improved it I would of stuck to the time frame and
not over do it by 6 minutes. This meant that they could only
mark 5 minutes of the show although this meant that the 1st 5
minutes had everything I needed in there.
8. Audience Appeal
How id make it appeal is that id advertise it therefor it being
aimed at my target audience. This means that the audience
are only the people I want and would be interested in the
radio show. This can be highlighted also on people just getting
the console to help them make their first choice in games.
Making it easy to know who I'm talking to. Therefor my
audience will have a basic knowledge of what I'm talking
about or disagree and a agree with my points made in the
show.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– The ideas and concept behind the show giving
information to old/ new players entering the Xbox
world. Having a knowledge of the console and the
games from people who have used it for so long.
What improvements could have been made to
the product?
More sound effects due to the fact it felt dragged
out and long without effects.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the intro but it was a bit long the conversation
is good as it seems natural and not like its been read
off of a script.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Make the intro down to 5 seconds.
Hail Hitler
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– The music works well behind the audio track and you talking about
and discussing the games. Fading the audio in between shows the
transition between the introduction and the topic.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
- As you get into the chat about the game it starts to flow better but to
improve flow at the beginning you could cut this together using the
blade tool. You and your contributor talk well with each other and it
makes for a good conversation. Introduction quite long and could be
improved by shortening, this would still be effective with the piece of
soundtrack you have used. The outro works well but also could be
shorter and could fade out earlier.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
• I agree the introduction was too long.
• Also adding in more sound effects. To create imagery for
the listener.
• Maybe more of a music variety for the show. And having
the music fade out sooner therefor being able to get more
content into the show.
• A different approach to the ending also that would flow
much better like the show did.
• Being able to use the bade tool effectively to cut out any
parts of the show that didn't’t flow. Making it flow better as
well as ending pauses that stop that flow in speech
