2. Spotting or bleeding that occurs after sexual intercourse is
referred to as " Postcoital bleeding"
3. CAUSES:
•An infection such as a pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), a
sexually transmitted infection (STI), or chlamydia,
•Cervix or uterus polyps,
•Vaginal dryness,
•Vaginal trauma,
•Cervical ectropion,
•Abnormal cells on the cervix,
4. •Damage to the vagina, such as tears caused by childbirth, or
friction during sex,
•Cervical or vaginal cancer,
•Vaginitis,
•Endometriosis
9. TREATMENT:
•Vaginal moisturizers,
•Antibiotics for infections
•Surgical removal, cryotherapy, or electrocautery for cervical
ectropion,
•Removal of polyps,
•Surgery or therapy for cancer,
•Low-dose vaginal oestrogen therapy for vaginal dryness.
