Working Title:
Pixel Video Game
I am going to call my game “Animatch”
Audience:
My target audience is 16-19 year olds. My game will appeal to this age range as with my game
being based off ‘Candy Crush’ it will grab their attention and be a game they are interested in
playing. My primary gender for my game is female as the majority of people who play this sort of
games are female so it will appeal most to them, the secondary target audience is male, my game
will also appeal to male as it is easy and fun to play. The primary social status is middle as this
covers a range of status and is the main status that my game will appeal to, with the game being
based off a popular game it will interest them straight away. The secondary social status is working
class this also covers a range of status and is another status that will appeal to my audience. I
chose these two social status as they will know about other games similar but will still be interested
in playing my game. I think that the psychographics for my game is Belonger as my game will be
family friendly and will suit this type well with is responding well to messages that is family
oriented.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I did level 2 creative media last year and I had to create 2 videos games throughout the course so I
have an advantage to this project as it is something I have done before. From doing level 2 it has
helped with my knowledge of Photoshop and the skills needed for it. I will use these skills on my
video game as I know how to do this.
My advergame was a Mario style game, the pipes and flag moved. Doing this will impact my game
as it gave me more practice on Photoshop and helped me to remember the different skills I learnt
from last year.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept of the project is to make your knowledge on Photoshop more advanced. Doing this
project will help as the project is to be made on Photoshop so you are able to learn the different
skills and learn what tool does what. I am going to make a matching game which was inspired by
Candy Crush. The concept of the game is there is 4 different animals you have to match at least 3
of the same animal to get points to be able to move onto the next level. I am going to have 3 levels
for my game with different themed animals to make it more exciting for the audience.
The research I will need to do is to look at different style of games and use different details to use
on my video game to try make it look realistic but to also make it original but include items to make
the games link. Doing research will also help me to see what themes run through the games and
try not to make mine look the same as I think this make it more appealing and exciting for my
audience to play as it will be something different.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
Doing a Production Reflection is a good way to evaluate your work by taking screenshots and
using them to explain what you changed or continued to use in your game. This helps to evaluate
your work to show things you did well.
I think getting opinions from different people helps to evaluate your work as you can see the
different thoughts they have and a way you could change things in the future.
