2. Masthead Font Styles
Font Name: Vonique 92
The denotation of the name of the font style is the style of this font is slim and stylish
using a modern conception of the use of font. In particular the stand out in this font is
the ‘K’ which is bigger compared to the other letters to set the tone of the article.
Overall I am uncertain about this magazine because it is not bold enough and the ‘g’
looks very awkward and hard to understand which will set a poor standard for the rest
of the magazine.

3. Masthead Font Styles
Font Name: Raider Crusader
The denotation of the name of the font style is bold but is slanted to the right to make
the masthead more effective. The actual font itself is sharp and thick which fits well in
to the hip hop category. Alongside this the font’s characteristics is modern which
connotes that it fits into the target audience of the younger ages. In conclusion I don’t
think this masthead font is suitable mainly because the font is too sharp and therefore
it would not suit my magazine’s style which is plain but effective.

4. Masthead Font Styles
Font Name: True Lies
The denotation of the name of the font style is connoted in brush streaks of black
which conjoin together to give more definition within the masthead. The style of the
font also symbolises ‘danger’ due to the cautious streaks which represents the origins
of the hip hop/ rap genre which will suit perfectly in my magazine. Overall this font is
very appealing but I do not think it is bold enough to be my masthead so I may use it
for my cover lines or elsewhere in the magazine.

5. Masthead Font Styles
Font Name: Futurist fixed-width
The denotation of the name of the font style is spaced out and clear which connotes
the professionalism within this font style. The basic and simplicity of the style is
effective as it stands out and would be presented across the top of the magazine. As a
result this font is a strong contender but it is not bold enough and this is crucial so it
appeals to the reader more.

6. Masthead Font Style –
FINAL Idea
Font Name: The bold font
The reason I decided to choose this font style over the choices was because the
denotation of the name of the font style is the style of this font is bold and thick
reveals how big and popular the genre the magazine is representing which is hip hop/
rap. The size and boldness of this font will also be more appealing to the audience
who will buy this magazine.
The colours used within the font will be either black or white alternating to it’s
background to make the masthead stand out even more to the reader. The size of the
font also reflects to the name because it refers to the strength of the logo which is just
like the style of XXL.
