Location
Time
Date
Why?
School
Time: during school hours, free periods
Date: whenever available
Why: this is a place where I can can easily meet
and speak to the chosen models I would like to
take photographs of. The school also has a
photography studio which I can take pictures of;
it’s isolated so there will be no disturbances.
Town/Park
Time: anytime after school or
on the weekends
Date: whenever available
Why: Both are easy places to
organise and meet the people
I want photos taken of; the
park can also be isolated at
times meaning that there will
be little to no disturbances.
Home
Time: during school hours,
free periods
Date: whenever available
Why: I can take photographs
anytime provided that I have
a participant (my sister).
Since my house is private
property I will have the
benefit of not having any
disturbances, for example,
people walking in front of the
camera.

Person/People
Why?
Lighting: variable as the lights in the
photography room can be adjusted depending on
the desired effect.
Person/people: classmates and friends as well as
volunteers.
Equipment: tripod
Lighting: will be difficult to
control so will need to take
advantage of it when it’s
there. Different times of the
day will be more suited to
different desired effects.
Person/ people: friends and
possible volunteer strangers.
Equipment: tripod
Lighting: variable as I have
variable lights in my house; I
can use lamps to focus light
to reach the desired effect.
Person/ people: family and
myself
Permission Needed
Contact needed to be made
Evidence of this?
I will need to ask the teacher of the photography
room for permission to use it. Also I will be sure
not to interrupt ongoing lessons.
Evidence: email repsonse awaiting
No permission needed as in a
public place, considering that
I don’t take photos of other
people. Evidence: UK law
states that photographers do
not require permission to
take a photograph of a person
in any public space. Only in
Trafalgar Square and
Parliament Square a
permission is required.
No permission needed as I’m
in my own house; as long as I
get consent from a volunteer
then there shouldn’t be any
problems.
Potential Hazards/Risks
Location specific
Why?
At school it can be difficult sometimes to get the
opportunity to take photos as I may be having a
lesson whilst my models are having their free
period and vice versa. I have to be specific in
planning photoshoot times.
Risk of offending strangers by
accidentally taking photos of
them; will need to either ask
for consent or be sure that
the area is 100% clear
otherwise I’ll need personal
consent from them.
At home it may not be the
most convenient place as I
have a very limited variety of
people to photograph. This
means that I can’t rely too
much on taking photos in my
house.
