1. Masthead Ideas
All of the colours of the masthead would
match with either the dark red or grey used
frequently throughout my magazine or
match with the colours presented on my
cover page image.
2. • Font: CF Rebelle
• I liked the look of this font as it think the messy and ‘scratchy’ look
adheres to the general relaxed and rebellious tone of my magazine.
I think it would also appeal to my younger targeted audience as of
these connotations and that it is different to many other mastheads
that I have previously seen. The title would be positioned at the top
of the cover page and spread across its entire width either being
behind or in front of the image, depending on what i think is better
for the overall look. This font is sans serif.
3. • Font: Rebellion
• I picked this font as I think although it has some sci-fi like qualities,
it also connects the different/ unique theme of my own magazine.
It is bold and therefore would attract the eye of the readers
however I do not think it would be used as it strays to far away from
the overall image which I would like to put across and may distract
from all the other information on the cover page. Sans Serif. Again
this font would be placed at the top of my page, probably behind
the image as I think the boldness would distract from the image.
4. • Font: Rebel Power
• This font is widely different to all others which I decided to choose. The
slightly fuzzy and messy nature of the font again like font number one
emphasis's the untidy and rebellious theme of my overall magazine,
therefore making the readers understand this before even reading the
magazine. I think this font which is sans serif could feature towards the
left hand corner of the top of the page and would be featured a box like
design, making it much more prominent and probably being placed above
the image and other text featured.
5. • Font: Indie Hand
• This font is again very messy and untidy, with the different letters each
having different sizes and placements in the word, furthering previously
spoken tone of my magazine. Going on from this the sans serif font looks
as if it had been drawn making the magazine more relaxed. Finally by
adding colour to the font is would allow it to be very prominent which
would again be enhanced as of its position at the top of page and most
likely spread out across the entire width, either being placed in front or
behind the image, each depending on the overall look.
6. X
• Font: Era Bold ITC, bold and italic
• This font was not made using the website DaFont.co.uk, but using the font
mentioned above which is given to me through the Microsoft word and
PowerPoint appliances. The bold and italic look of the name could both be
used for long words or phrases or as shown above in a single letter name.
The bold and italic features would give it a more relaxed feel however still
grab the readers attention on the shelves. I think that this masthead
would follow the same layout of Q magazine, with it being placed to the
top left hand side, either as it is or in a different coloured box. This font is
sans serif.
