3. Blogger
■ I used Blogger throughout the entirety of my coursework to easily
publish my work throughout the year. It allowed me to embed html
links of my work from different publication software including Prezi,
Emaze, Zoho (fromWord, PowerPoint etc) as well as theYouTube
textual analysis video I created during my research stage, plus text
only posts directly onto Blogger. This enabled me to put all of my
work in one place.
5. Paint.net
■ As well as using Paint.net on the laptops at sixth form, I downloaded
Paint.net software to my laptop at home, which was crucial in
completing my coursework as this was the main form of software I
used in the construction stage. Building on my experience of using
this from my AS coursework, there were plenty of tricks to using it
that I didn’t know of before that I do now, leading to a higher quality
production with different elements.
■ I used this form of technology to create the cover, contents, double
page spread and billboard tasks for my production. I also created
the brand logo for ‘LIFESTYLE Leicester’ using this as I could
manipulate the image from the plain black colour I imported from
DaFont.com to my icy blue colour which I used throughout.
7. ASUS laptop
■ My laptop was crucial in being able to complete large amounts of
my coursework in the comfort of my home whenever I wanted. I
have access to plenty of different technologies on there, such as the
Microsoft software, Paint.net and more.
9. Presentation Software
■ I used plenty of different technology in the presentation of my work
throughout all aspects including research, planning and evaluations.
This includes Microsoft PowerPoint, Emaze and Prezi.
■ Using a variation of different technology for this allowed me to
break up having text heavy posts from Blogger only. However, it
also added interesting and more interactive and creative elements
to the way in which I presented my work, which is something I really
like as it can be so tedious writing for long periods of time.
11. DaFont.com
■ Using DaFont.com as a form of technology was also a really
important element in completing my coursework. After selecting a
certain font (such as Champagne & Limousines, which I used often),
I saved an image of the preview from the website, then opened it on
Paint.net. I then used Paint.net’s image manipulation software to
remove the background, leaving only the text, then I was able to use
the ‘paint bucket’ to fill in and choose different colours for the text.
■ Using DaFont.com was important as it allowed me to use a much
wider and more interesting variety of fonts, rather than using the
ones that come with Paint.net.
13. Survey Monkey
■ I used Survey Monkey to gather valuable audience research in
learning about the opinions and expectations of my target
demographic regarding my production. The anonymous responses
allowed honest suggestions as well as opinions which was important
in the research stage of my coursework as I analysed the results and
looked at how my audience’s feedback would help my production.
■ I also used the html embed link to embed the survey directly onto
my blog.
