2. ■ During this project I did nothing but integrate technologies. Doing this
was seamless due to technological convergence and the recent
proliferation of hardware and content, almost all the resources I used in
each stage were digital.
During this presentation I am going to look at how I’ve successfully
integrated technologies in terms of pre-production, production, post-
production and distribution as well as in the creation of my poster and
website.
3. Research.
■ For research in the first stage of my project I used a
lot of online websites (on my laptop) to conduct
research and find first hand examples of codes and
conventions that I would need to follow to make a
professional looking short film.
■ It allowed me to find similar texts like “glance” for
me to analyze.
■ (Click on any of the images for a link to the
website.)
4. Development.
■ I used Excel to create a spreadsheet to schedule my project.
■ I used an online site called Celtx to write the each draft of my script.
■ I used Survey Monkey to create an audience feedback survey when establishing my
target audience.
■ I also used a printer to scan and digitalize my hand-drawn storyboard.
■ I then uploaded all of these onto my project blog on Blogger.
5. Filming.
■ I shot my film on a 4K IPhone camera at
24fps with a gimbal to keep it steady.
■ The gimbal linked to my IPhone via
Bluetooth and an app called “DJI GO”
6. Post-Production.
■ I then moved the footage from the app onto a computer using airdrop where I then
imported them onto the software “premier pro” to cut all of the footage together and
edit by adding things like cross-fades, fade-outs, a picture grade and opening/closing
credits.
■ I was also able to edit the sound with HPF’s and LPF’s on this software and add sound
effects (which I got from a website called freesound.org)
■ To make the main soundtrack I used a condenser, cardioid microphone and used a
software called logic to edit it.
7. Distribution
■ To distribute my film I used multiple sites,
firstly, I created aYouTube account and
uploaded it onto this
■ I also embedded this video onto my blogger.
■ And I uploaded the final cut ontoVimeo
■ All of these were done using free accounts
draft 2 of my film.)
8. Poster
■ To make my poster I first had to organize the shoot which I did through messaging
apps (Facebook and I-message)
■ I then took the photos on a DSLR camera then moved the SD card from the camera to
my mac to import the photos.
■ I then used the software Photoshop to edit the images and usedYouTube tutorials to
teach me things I didn't know how to do on the software.
■ I exported the edited image into a Photoshop file of a template I had previously
created of a conventional film poster. I then exported this as a JPEG and uploaded
onto my blog.
9. Website
■ To create my website I used “WIX” which is a website I have
often seen advertised onTV. It is a free to use software and there
are many tutorials onYouTube to help beginners like me learn
quickly how to use it.
■ I used Photoshop again to create the main “Love Story
No,514432” title so that it was matching fonts with my poster.
