2. Blogger
Blogger is a ‘make your own blog’
website that allows anyone to create
an organised, timely and interactive
blog (with the use of some features).
My blog was to keep my progress
documented for each adjustment or
piece of planning I did for my media
products throughout the year. It was
the first time I had used the website,
and found it relatively easy to follow,
yet creating blog posts and having to
embed HTML codes in them was more
difficult. Blogger was one of the most
useful assests of my production of the
media products as it was like a file for
all the work compiled over the year.
3. Photoshop
Photoshop was a vital aspect of my media project as this is the
software I used to construct each page of the magazine.
Photoshop is full of different tools to use and as a photoshop
amateur, I used the common, basic tool such as crop, text input,
shapes. However, new skills were learnt while background’s were
being changed and gradients were made. Photoshop can be
complex when you begin as it differs from other production
software that aren’t within the Adobe bracket, due to its layers
set up. Photoshop has so many features that at times it was
difficult to choose which route to apply a transformation, as there
are so many.
4. SlideShare
SlideShare is a website used to share
power point documents online for the
public to view. I used to when it came to
present research, feedback and
evaluations. You have the option to embed
these shared PowerPoints into your
blogger, which is an effective way to
present work rather than pages of words.
SlideShare was a website that I didn’t know
existed, but when it was introduced to it at
the start of this project I found it easy to
navigate, and was an asset in the
production of my blog.
5. Computers – apple macs
In addition, I used hardware and technologies such as
computers. I designed, researched and produced the
magazines on the computers, alongside our blogs being
created on one too.
PowerPoint, Word and Safari were the most used applications
on the computer, PowerPoint and word being to document
content while safari used to research. Using computers was
vital and made production efficient, easy and moreover
professional. We were able to be flexible in where we
produced work due to USB’s and internet which allowed us to
transfer work.
6. Cameras
When photographing my main image, contents page image and DPS image, I used
cameras to capture the images.
The cameras I used were:
Samsung Galaxy Camera
IPhone 6 camera
Each of these cameras have used technological convergence as they can take
pictures, video, record voice notes, access the internet, make phone calls and text.
The cameras being able to access the internet was extremely useful as they could be
uploaded straight to my blog, where I could download and utilize them in
photoshop.
The Samsung camera’s pictures proved to be more difficult to use in photoshop as
the pictures come out in widescreen format, which didn’t fit many sizes I wanted to
use in my work.
