1. The contrast between the monotone background image and the
pink and yellow texts and badges work really well as it makes the
text stand out. The bright yellow is a good addition to the cover as
it adds a touch of another colour and it makes a big difference. The
colours used in the magazine are overall a good contrast as they
are all very different but they all complement each other in
different ways i.e. . The black and white background image makes
the pink writing stand out and it also makes it readable.
The colour scheme of this magazine is a classic magazine colour
pallet that consists of red white and black. The NME magazine uses
this colour scheme regularly as it is one of their classic themes to
use on their covers as the colours all complement each other
without it being too overpowering. This classic theme appeals to all
audiences because the person in the image would appeal to young
audiences however the colour scheme would appeal to the more
sophisticated audiences. I will take in consideration my target
consumers when choosing my colour pallet as it affects who the
magazine would appeal to.
