2. This is a colour scheme I was
thinking of using for my pop
magazine. The bright colours are
often used in pop magazines to
attract attention to the audience.
It also makes the magazine look
exciting and interesting. Bright
colours are often used in pop
music videos so the bright colours
on the magazine link to this.
This colour scheme can
be used along side a
grey scale colour scheme
to keep the cover neutral
but also have the link to
pop music.
3. This colour scheme is common in pop
magazines and is one I would like to use for
my magazine. The colours are bright yet are
dark at the same time. This allows the pop of
colour to be included in the theme while still
having the grey scale. The colour schemes
also fade to dark colours so the cover would
not look messy. This colour scheme includes
colours that are often used in pop magazines
and music videos so it would be clear what
type of magazine it is without even reading it.
4. These colour schemes are all similar because they
are all light colours used. The colours are pastel like
and do not go too dark. These colour schemes do
include some bright colours but are mainly dull and
basic. These could be used for the cover of the
magazine because the colours in each colour swatch
compliment each other. However, I don’t think I will
use these colour schemes because they do not have
the feeling of a pop magazine and do not fit with
the theme I am trying to create. These colours are
too basic and boring for a pop magazine and would
not give out the right message to my target
audience. These colours would not attract young
adults as they are not bright enough and do not
stand out.
5. The main colour scheme I am going to use for
my magazine is grey scale. I think this type of
colour scheme can easily be carried out through
the magazine. This colour scheme makes the
magazine look modern and fits with a lot of pop
music magazine covers, music videos, and
albums. The grey scale will work really well on
the cover of the magazine, especially with bright
colours added in some spaces.
The grey scale keeps the magazine
neutral so both males and females
would be comfortable buying the
magazine, making it more popular. The
grey scale can also be carried on with
the background photo, if the photo will
be in black and white.
6. Colour scheme inspiration…
I was inspired by this colour scheme for a pop magazine. I liked how it was gender neutral
because of the grey scale and how the colour part of the cover really stands out because of the
grey. I liked that this style of cover grabs your attention and so I wanted my magazine to be of a
similar style. The grey scale theme looked modern on the cover and I think this theme will be
good to carry on throughout the magazine.
