Saturday. The sophomore only allowed four hits in a run-rule shortened game on Friday night. She returned on

NOTES (Submitted by LSC SIDâs)
Angelo State
3-1 last week.
Cameron
1-1 last week.
Eastern New Mexico
Last week, the Greyhound softball team would have had difficulty if it looked for tougher in-region competition.
The flow of the games could be a strong indication of the strides the team is taking. Although Lubbock Christian
pulled away late, the Greyhounds managed to tie the first game of Tuesdayâs doubleheader at 4-all, on Morgan
Greenâs fifth-inning home run. In three of the four games at Angelo State, ENMU held a lead in the fourth
inning or later. On Saturday, the Greyhounds earned their second-ever road win in the series against the
Rambelles. Early Saturday afternoon, Angelo State capitalized on an error and two hits to seize a 2-0 first inning
lead. Kiana Zerr limited them to just one hit from the second through sixth innings to keep the Hounds in the
game. ASU starter Kenedy Urbany, in pursuit of her 10th win of the season blanked the Hounds through five
innings as well. In the sixth, Susannah Chandler halved ENMUâs deficit with a homer, and Kyra Siragâs two out
triple tied the game. At that point, the floodgates opened, with Zerr leading the way, with two homers and
seven runs batted in over the final two innings. Angelo State scored seven in their final at bat, but Eastern held
on for a 12-9 win. The series finale went back and forth, with ENMU holding a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the
fourth inning, but the Rambelles scored the final three runs and withstood a seventh-inning rally. ENMU also
led the series opener 4-3, in the bottom of the fourth, but ASU scored late for a 7-4 win. Angelo State posted an
11-1 win in the nightcap. On Tuesday, Lubbock Christian posted a 10-5 win in the opener, and a 12-0 decision
in the second game. On Friday, the Hounds will open a four-game series against Texas A&M-Commerce. The
first game will start at 1 p.m.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State fell to 15-13 overall and 3-5 in the LSC after dropping a four-game slate to top-ranked West
Texas A&M in the home-opening series at Mustangs Park last weekend. MSU came close to handing the Lady
Buffs their first loss of the season in the series finale, scoring the tying run and loading the bases in the bottom
of the seventh before WT ended the frame with back-to-back strikeouts to avoid the walk-off. The Lady Buffsâ
Lacey Taylor then delivered a grand slam in the eighth after a walk and a pair of fielding errors loaded the bases
for WT. Midwestern State continues LSC play this weekend with a four-game set at Texas Womanâs.
Tarleton State
Tarleton dropped three of four games to Texas Womanâs in Stephenville last weekend. The TexAnns will play
Texas A&M International on Tuesday before returning home for a DH against St. Edwardâs on Saturday.
Texas A&M-Commerce
7-0 last week.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
Texas A&M-Kingsville fell to A&M-Commerce in a close series, losing two LSC contests by a total of two runs...
the Javelinas resume conference play this weekend hosting Cameron... Haley Boyett and Roxy Chapa lead the
club in hitting with a .328 batting average.
Texas Womanâs
TWU improved to 14-8 on the season after starting the Lone Star Conference schedule with a 3-1 series win
at No. 25 Tarleton State. The Pioneers split the two game on Friday before sweeping the doubleheader on
Saturday. Junior Tori Bice captured all three wins in the circle with three complete games. She posted a 1.67
ERA and 17 strikeouts during the weekend including a career-high 10 strikeouts in game-one win. Bice started
both games of the doubleheader on Saturday and went the distance in both while tossing 277 pitches on the
day. Senior Tealey Farquhar led the Pioneers with a .538 batting average, .600 on base percentage, six runs
and 7-for-7 in stolen bases. The TexAnns had trouble with the lead-off hitter as she reached base to start the
game in all four while scoring three times. Junior Nicole Nordie led the team with eight RBI and .818 slugging
percentage. She drove in the winning run in all three wins. On the season Bice leads LSC in ERA (1.85), tied
for first in wins (10) and second in innings pitched (72.0), strikeouts (54) and opponent batting average (.217).
Junior Logan Polasek is the team leader with a .431 batting average on offense while Nordie has a team-best
18 RBI. Farquhar has a team-best 25 runs and 17 stolen bases.
West Texas A&M
The top ranked and undefeated Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M continued to roll through Lone Star Conference
play this past weekend as they registered a Highway 287 Challenge Cup sweep of Midwestern State in Wichita
Falls. WTâs Lacey Taylor hit .500 on the weekend with a double and two homeruns to drive in seven RBI as
the senior led WT to the series sweep. Sophomore Kilee Halbert went 2-0 in the circle with a 2.10 ERA to
move to 10-0 with a one-hit shutout on the weekend. The Lady Buffs continue Lone Star Conference action
this weekend as they host the rival Rambelles of Angelo State with action starting on Friday night at 5 p.m. at
Schaeffer Park.
