1. Neem Bio compost
Presented By:

Noorul Islam College of Arts and Science.
2. Introduction
• Neem bio compost is the modification of ordinary
compost.
• It used as manure as well as bio pesticide.
• It is cost effective project for farmers.
• It doesn’t affect the ecosystem.
• It increases beneficial insects in the field.
• It also increases the vegetative growth of the plant.
4. Objective
• To increase soil fertility
• To reduce the usage of pesticide.
• To develop the best Ecosystem.
• To produce cost effective manure
• To avoid root rotting
6. Neem
• Its bitter taste protects plants roots from
nematodes and white ants (Bio pesticide).
• It enriches the nitrogen and phosphors
content in the soil and also rich in Sulphur
and calcium.
• It act as a ecofriendly substance.
7. Azadirachta indica
Kingdom: Plantae
Subkingdom: Tracheobionta
Super division: Spermatophyta
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Subclass: Rosidae
Order: Sapindales
Family: Meliaceae
Genus: Azadirachta A. Juss.
Species: indica A. Juss.
8. Straw
• It is a valuable addition to the
compost pile.
• It decomposes the neem
quickly.
• It helps heat to the mixture
(Compost).
9. Cow dung
• It eliminating harmful ammonia
gas and pathogens like E.coli.
• It increases organic matter.
• It improve moisture holding
capacity to the soil.
10. Pseudomonas Powder
• Assess the quality and stability of the
compost.
• It controls fungal disease.
Pseudomonas fluorescens
11. Why I’m taking this as trial?
• Compost are used only for basal dressing.
• Ordinary composts are not effective to control the
nematodes and white ants so we used additional
pesticides it increase the Cultivational cost.
• In order to avoid the additional usage of pesticide
and reduced the cultivation cost and improve soil
fertility and balanced ecosystem.
12. Methodology
1. Selection of Area –
– The site should be protected from strong sunlight,
wind, high rainfall and flooding.
2. Preparing the site –
– Cleared the site of stones, weeds and grasses
– Minimum area 1.25 m x 1.25 m.
– Depth 20 – 25 cm
13. 3. The three basic layers -
i. Layer 1 – Neem Leaves, twigs and seeds.
ii. Layer 2 – Straw (for quick composting).
iii. Layer 3 – Fresh and dried cow dung (for
increasing the microbial activity).
4. Covering layer - Wet mud (To protect against
sunlight).
5. Sprinkling water – 2 or 3 days (To maintain the
temperature).
14. Factors analyzed in Biofertilizers
Factor Result
pH 7
Moisture Content 18.8 %
Final Product
After 45 days I got fine compost
Result
15. Field trial
Used this compost for my home garden it gives better result than
other compost.
• It reduced the nematodes and increased the beneficial insects.
• It increased vegetative growth.
• It reduced the pesticide use.
16. Suggestion
• Farmers use this in their field it increases the yield.
• Reduce the cultivation cost and increases their
income.
• It create the healthy environment.
