3. Research
• action because I already new what types of products I wanted to compare and this
gave me an advantage because I had the words already there to write down. The
research helped my product in such a way it influenced my colour scheme and
design. From one of my similar design I used the same colour some strengths of
my research was the sections where you had to find similar products and compare
them to your product. Feel like this is my strongest scheme because it was nice.
• One weaknesses of my research was when I had do the surveys. I sent my surveys
out but a lot of people did not respond and get back to me with completed survey,
this is hard because I can not make someone do my survey so I hade to be a couple
of people short on my survey but it still worked out. One way I could of improved
this was by printing some out and giving them the people then manually putting
them onto the computer, this would have been a more efficient way of collection
the data but less efficient for time.
4. Planning
• With my planning I had ideas what I already wanted to do, this made the process much easier
because I could get my ideas down in relatively fast pace. My planning helped my product
because I could constantly change it whilst still having the original document to work off if I
ever wanted to go back to that design. One other strength in my planning was that I could
adapt and had the ability to change my design because there is so many possibilities.
• One major weakness I found is that when I did come across a problem I found it hard to work
out a solution because I had exceeded all my other designs so I had to be unique and not take
ideas from other designs to compensate for the lack of creativity.
• One thing I could of done better was try to and get more designs just so I had a buffer on
choosing one but luckily I already had the design I wanted. I could of also improved certain
aspects on my designs like colour schemes and use of pictures.
• The improvements could have had a big enough effect on the product that it would of
changed the complete look and professionalism of the product. I feel like it would of not
been as good as it is now because I feel like this colour scheme is the perfect one so changing
it would of made it look terrible. But that is what planning is for and I know this because I
have tested with different shaped and colours as you can see below there are different stages
of the design and ideas that have come up with.
5. Time Management
• I feel like I could of managed my time a little bit better because some sections
got more time than others because I enjoyed them bits more. I would say the
sections that had the most amount of time would be designing and creating
the product and the section with the least amount of time would definitely be
the research section, the reason why I disliked the research section is because
it was very time consuming and so by me not rushing through it only made the
process more difficult and more time consuming than it already was. My
product might have been able to be improved with a additional time because I
would have had more time, this increasing the chance of creating a better
product overall but I feel like I have created the best possible product out of
my ideas and designs,
• If I had more time then I would of most probably tried and added more
information on my product. This would of been the biggest improvement I
could possibly think off, only because I had every thing on the product so there
would be no need to add more pictures and colour just to make them clash
and look disgusting. This would decrees the product in reputation over time.
6. Technical QualitiesAs you can see there is not much
different between the full sized
business card and the film poster.
Some of the colours are the same
and match, the only real noticeable
difference is the film poster has a lot
more detail than my business card.
One similar thing there is with this
though is there is a big symbol in the
corners of both of the products this
is used to identify what he company
or film logo is. There is also images in
the middle of them both as well.
As you can see here the small sized folded business
card, this is much different to the film poster. There is
more detail on the film poster again but that is
because it is much bigger but design I would say mine
looks a lot better than the film poster because it is
basic and simple and doesn’t clash with anything. My
writing as well stands out so people can see it this
makes it much easier. The writing on the film poster
however does stand out but only the white writing.
The orange doesn’t stand out.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
Yes I think my work looks good, every thing is where it should be. I think my product is
mildly creative In some certain aspects like you don’t see a coloured business card like
mine and with the certain fold design, the visuals I mainly like about my business card is
the fold design I have made it to make the product look good, this gives it a real unique
style and look. I also like how the colours just blend into each other, the colours do
match very well.
One main thing that I would improve would be the the picture selection, I would get
some more close ups and more pictures of the 3D modeling. This would be better
because then people can see the technology and capabilities of drones. I would also
make the pictures stand out from the background a bit more so It catches there eyes
and makes them want to look at it. I would improve all of these problems by
decreasing the brightness on the background and make it a little but more transparent
then try and focus all of the attention on the pictures and contact information down
below this increasing the chances of people calling up and getting enquiries and
bookings.
8. Audience Appeal
Main bits that would appeal to my audience would be the colour and design of the business card.
This is because my audience will think it Is just a normal business card and then when they look at
it they will realise there is more. This would stand out to them because people like that like the
look of this creative design and model. I have also managed to appeal to them by the quality of the
product. Therefor if they liked the product then they will recommend it to people like them who
are looking for thee same services.
As you can see there is 3 pictures
and these pictures represent what
the business card will look like.
This card is what it will look like
when it is fully folded as you can se I
look likes a little business card
nothing else. But when you open it
up it becomes sort of like a small
poster. This is good because it gives
more information towards the
costumers. The picture on the
bottom left shows the fold marks
how it should be folded.
