Production Process Evaluation
Research
• I believe that I worked well on a whole with my research, as I was able to research different examples of
already existing products and get some rough ideas of how I would like my product to turn out in some sense.
I found these various different examples of already existing products, mainly of Google Images. This is good
as I was able to actually view the products, rather then just reading about them , with some however I was
able to do both. This also helped as I could see which products I liked and was able to visualise what my
product could look like but not so much that it wouldn’t look exactly the same as already existing ones.
• However, at first I struggled with my research slightly, as at first, I was struggling to find some ideas that I
could look at and although there was already many existing products, but I couldn’t quite visualise how I
wanted my product to look, so on a whole it took me a while to find an already existing product, that I could
get some inspiration from.
• I believe too make my research better, I could have worked faster on carrying out my research, as if I had
done this, I believe that I would have made more progress upon doing so and would have been able to
include more material/explanation text into the slides about the already existing products.
• One particular part of my research that influenced my final product a lot and didn’t change it in an way, was
my questionnaire survey and the response of which I got of it, as based around the responses I got, as I was
aiming my game around my audience and it was mainly my audience that answered the survey questions on
a whole, not just random people. To make my questions more successful I would have, added in some more
questions so that, I would have had a chance of getting more results and them being more accurate.
• My more based internet research (Google images), was I believe one of the main reasons that my research
helped too influence my final production, because without this method, how was I able too get ideas of how I
wanted my production too look, I got my designs from looking at already existing products from ‘Google’.
• My questions where also one of the main things that helped my final production from my research, as I was
able to aim it more at that one audience , and I am able to base my work on exactly how that one audience
range answered the questions on their preferences to how my production should look i.e. background is a
still//action shot.
Planning
• I am of the opinion that my planning went well , but believe that I could of made it slightly
better. On my first planning PowerPoint , initial plans, I came up with some good initial
ideas that would have been good to use as my final production, if I haven’t made the
production that I have now. At first with my initial plans , I chose an idea that I had initially
planned on making, however its not what I have made, my production is actually different
to what I had initially planned to make. This therefore is part of the reason that I believe
my planning didn’t go all well.
• With my pre-production work, I felt that it worked well, however I also believe that there
are some areas of which I believe that I struggled on. For example, when it came the
colour schemes for my actual production, some of the colour schemes did get used,
however other didn’t, also when it came too my style sheet, it is actually quite different to
what my actual production looks like, as I said my actual production had changed slightly ,
at the last minute. To improve my work I would go back and change my style sheet so that
it looked slightly more accurate to what my production looked like. Besides this though, I
am still of the opinion that my planning went well in some form on a whole, but yet still
believe that I can go back and make some improvements to it.
Time Management
• At first, when I started my PowerPoint work, I felt that I managed my time well especially with
the first few of the PowerPoint i.e. Initial plans, Research , with these power points I felt that I
managed my time in a good enough manor to keep up with the pace of the work rate. Also with
my proposal document, I believe that this was the document that I completed the fastest, as I
already knew straight away what I was going to include into my material of it as I already knew
what I was planning to do for my actual production, so on a whole I was quick in doing my
proposal document and had plenty of time to go back and read over it several times. When I
came to my experiments , I felt that time wise I feel slightly behind as I felt that I was struggling
with what I should put onto my experiments and by the time I had thought of what to put on
them and actually got them done I had practically run out of time and had still yet to fill in the
areas of which I had to type In ‘what I did/process/if was going to use any material in final
production’. With my pre-production PowerPoint I have mixed feelings for the time management
within this PowerPoint , because there was stages of which I was sticking to my time
management and also times of which I had in fact fallen behind with my work resulting in not
having being stuck my time management plan.
• When it came too my actual production on a whole level I thought that I was on time and kept up
with my time management, for example at first when it came too the first stage of my actual
production I was of the opinion that I was managing my time, well until it came too the stage
that I had to change the first part of my production, I slowly fell behind with my work, which I
found to be difficult as I began too find it stressful and hard to keep up with the workload.
Technical Qualities
The image in the top left corner of the screen is an already existing product example and the one in the top right corner
is my product, I am going too compare the similarities and differences of both.
The already existing product has the same kind of 3D style effect covering over the text.
It also makes use of it including the same kind of main background image and that is the idea of having a picture of
‘captain America’ dead centre of the of the background, both of which include him holding his shield in some way or
another.
The titles of the two products appear to look slightly similar in some sense, as they look to be in the same position ,
apart from the fact that the already existing product has a more larger/bigger, also they make use of, the text kind of
overlapping each other. Mine also stands out , due to the way of which I added in a glow feature, around the edge of
it, which also made it help too stand out, compared to the more darker background, along with the way that. The red
is more of a darker style which in a way helps to grab the readers attention.
On a whole however I believe that my text, stands out more on from the way that I have added in outer glows to the
text, which very ,much helps it to stand out, even if there is small parts of text.
The background of the already existing product is much more lighter than mine, but I believe that mine looks better
and it draws in the audience more
Technical qualities
The top left corner of the screen is an example of an already existing product and in the top right hand corner is
my production poster. The existing product and my product both have some things in similar and they both have
things in difference.
Both mine and already existing product have the same color scheme in some place, the background color scheme
for this ,is the same as the background color scheme for the bottom half of my poster, with the artic/ice area.
If you look closely at the poster , you can see how the image that represents my whole bottom half of my poster
can be seen behind the characters viewed on the already existing product.
The already existing product and my product can be show to be very similar, as by how my product has the idea of
the cars in and the existing has the idea of the family/characters in.. Making them link together more.
The existing product has the quote, ‘family no more’ in the top corner of the screen, I have a very similar thing if
you look at my production at the very bottom it says ‘all roads lead too this’. This is similar to it because of the
way that they use the same particular font/text but in a different color and different position.
Technical qualities
• In the top left corner of the screen, I have an example of an already existing animation game and in the
top right corner I have my animation game.
• From the comparison of my game and the already existing product , I can automatically see that there is
an immediate difference and that is of the color difference. As the already existing product, has a much
darker color scheme which gives the more sense that it is more of a danger/fighting game, whereas my
game has the idea of it being more brighter colors, which gives it a sense of it being more of a happier
kind/ will appeal to the audience much more as it appears to be a happier game, shown by the more
brighter colors.
• Although that my game can be seen to be more appealing to the audience by the brighter colors, it is
shown that the already existing product, is much more detailed compared to my game , but although
that can be seen to be a bad thing, it also isn’t as I originally wasn’t planning on making my game to be
so complicated, I wanted to make my game so that it was a tad on the basic side and much more easier
to play, than of how the already existing product appears to be to play.
Technical Qualities
• Also when comparing the already existing product and my product, you can see that, the already existing
product has made use of including more text parts in the front cover, where as in my product I have made more
use of using picture images in my front cover, which I believe on a whole too be much more interactive as it kind
of shows more , what is included/mentioned in the magazine, however underneath the images, I have however
included in some small text parts, but not much, it just briefly describes what the film is and what is going to be
discussed/spoken about.
• On the already existing product it has one image and that is the image for the background and the rest of the
material for that set front cover Is based around it being text, this can be seen as a good thing as it is more
detailed and is seen to have more material included in it. But there is so much text that, it could appear like it is
overly crowed, but in some peoples eyes I don’t think that would matter because of the way that the text flows
and the chosen font, some could appear to like the way of which it looked, in such a form that you get the sense
that the font/text is from a more olden time sense.
• with the colours of the already existing product being more brighter, it is going to draw in the audience more as
the brighter colours appear to be much more appealing than the colours on my front cover, as the brighter the
colours the better that it looks and the more chance you have of more people buying it. To improve my
background next time, I will use the idea of using a more brighter background as I believe that it will
attract/draw in the audience more by the brighter colors.
• The brighter colors from the already existing product are shown by the way it kind of reflects of a gold tinted
color from the center of the shield, which can also hint that the color is also based around a gold ish color.
Aesthetic Qualities
Yes I believe on a whole that my work looks good and is too a good enough standard and also is creative too a
good enough level, this is too be said about all of my production which is , magazine cover, double page
spread, advertisement poster and an ADV. Game.
From my front cover, I particular like the aspect of the background cover and the idea of how I made a 3D like
effect using ‘Captains Americas ‘ head to overlap with the title, to improve it I would enlarge the smaller parts
of text that appear below the images, to make it look more clear.
With my double page spread, I love the idea of how it flows together especially with the way that the image
and the text link together into one kind of theme and the way that the image blends into the background
clearly.
I am also of the opinion that my film poster looks good, the main strength in my opinion is how it looks to
have a 3D like effect on it, which is shown by the way that , I created it by cutting up two different posters,
using the Polygon lasso tool, in a Photoshop document. To improve my poster I would spend more time on It,
to make some slight adjustments/ improvements, so that it has the chance of looking slightly better.
With my adv. Game I like the way how it is quite simple and easy to play, I also like the way that it has bright
colours so it appeals to the audience more, which makes people want to play it.
Audience Appeal
Yes on a whole I do believe that I have met my target audience, this includes my target audience around, in my
magazine front cover, double page spread, advetisment poster and my adv. Game. my target audience was more
too be aimed around males and the age area of 20-30/40. My products met this age range, especially by the way
of which the front cover of my magazine especially by the background colours/image of my front cover, this
appeals to the target audience a lot, as the background has a 3D like effect to it.
My double page spread, doesn’t appeal as much to the specific age range for my target audience, or if it does, It
does so very slightly and it will be more towards the older age range, this can be shown by the font that is chosen
and used for the text part of my double page spread, it is obviously from an older time, were that type of text
would have been more common, but still in some sense it appeals too my target audience in a good enough
manor, although maybe more towards the older target audience.
With my poster I believe also that I met my target audience, in a good enough manor especially by the way of
which I took two images too make and put them together, to create a 3D kind of effect, which helps too make it
stand out, this also helps to draw in my male target audience and also appeal more too my younger age audience
, hence from the way that it is a 3D like effect poster.
On a whole with all my FMP production work , I believe that my FMP audience is based around the more middle
class people , as I didn’t intend to make it appealed towards the higher class, I worked on my FMP, with the
intention of it being aimed towards the middle class society, as more people from the middle class will view it.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
From your final production in total ,I like the way of which your production flows together. For
example like how you have the magazine cover background based around the topic for the adv..
Game, I also like the colour scheme of which what you chose for your magazine cover
background as it helps to make the text stand out from others.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I believe that you could have made your adv. Game too be slightly more detailed, then how
It already is, as I believe that by your game being more detailed/complicated you will of had
a better chance at getting a higher result/grade.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the way of which you presented you magazine double page spread, especially the way
that the large image on the second page blends in with the colour background of the double
page spread and also the style of which the font as in, as it In a way, represents the style of
which the films age range is based around, so the target audience is represented from the
text choice.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think that you could of, made the big image on the second page of your double page spread
slightly smaller as, you will have been able too include in some more text, which will have
made it seem more detailed.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the way of which you made your adv. Game to be more of the basic style, as it doesn’t
make it seem to be so complicated .
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think that you should make your adv. Game slightly more detailed, but not so much that it
makes it more complicated, maybe just add some more background features into it so that
more seems to be happening
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– From my peer feedback, I agree with the way that my production work all flows together
and in some way each piece links together In some form. I also agree with the fact that my
double page spread and front cover from my magazine look good and well presented.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I kind of disagree with the fact that I should add some more background features too my
adv. Game because I believe that it could make it appear too be more complicated, then
what it already is. But I also I see how by doing this it could draw people into wanting to play
it more , although I also believe that it could make it appear slighty more complicated then
of what it already is.
Peer Feedback Summary
Based upon my peer feedback I am planning on changing some things of my final production, for
example with my magazine work from my final production, I am planning on making the large image
from my double page spread slightly smaller/reposition it so that I will be able too fit a bit more text in,
and place it just next too the image on the second page, also I make the text slightly smaller so that, but
I am still going to keep the same text of which is already on my double page spread.
I am also thinking about adding in the idea of adding in some more background detail to my adv. Game
as it has been said that, my game would look better if I was too add in some more features to the
background of the game and that is what I am planning on doing. Some features which I may include
could be the idea of some random features, like flying objects, that could come flying down and hit the
shield , but yet bounce off, I will still use these similar colour scheme.

7. fmp evaluation

  • 3. Research • I believe that I worked well on a whole with my research, as I was able to research different examples of already existing products and get some rough ideas of how I would like my product to turn out in some sense. I found these various different examples of already existing products, mainly of Google Images. This is good as I was able to actually view the products, rather then just reading about them , with some however I was able to do both. This also helped as I could see which products I liked and was able to visualise what my product could look like but not so much that it wouldn’t look exactly the same as already existing ones. • However, at first I struggled with my research slightly, as at first, I was struggling to find some ideas that I could look at and although there was already many existing products, but I couldn’t quite visualise how I wanted my product to look, so on a whole it took me a while to find an already existing product, that I could get some inspiration from. • I believe too make my research better, I could have worked faster on carrying out my research, as if I had done this, I believe that I would have made more progress upon doing so and would have been able to include more material/explanation text into the slides about the already existing products. • One particular part of my research that influenced my final product a lot and didn’t change it in an way, was my questionnaire survey and the response of which I got of it, as based around the responses I got, as I was aiming my game around my audience and it was mainly my audience that answered the survey questions on a whole, not just random people. To make my questions more successful I would have, added in some more questions so that, I would have had a chance of getting more results and them being more accurate. • My more based internet research (Google images), was I believe one of the main reasons that my research helped too influence my final production, because without this method, how was I able too get ideas of how I wanted my production too look, I got my designs from looking at already existing products from ‘Google’. • My questions where also one of the main things that helped my final production from my research, as I was able to aim it more at that one audience , and I am able to base my work on exactly how that one audience range answered the questions on their preferences to how my production should look i.e. background is a still//action shot.
  • 4. Planning • I am of the opinion that my planning went well , but believe that I could of made it slightly better. On my first planning PowerPoint , initial plans, I came up with some good initial ideas that would have been good to use as my final production, if I haven’t made the production that I have now. At first with my initial plans , I chose an idea that I had initially planned on making, however its not what I have made, my production is actually different to what I had initially planned to make. This therefore is part of the reason that I believe my planning didn’t go all well. • With my pre-production work, I felt that it worked well, however I also believe that there are some areas of which I believe that I struggled on. For example, when it came the colour schemes for my actual production, some of the colour schemes did get used, however other didn’t, also when it came too my style sheet, it is actually quite different to what my actual production looks like, as I said my actual production had changed slightly , at the last minute. To improve my work I would go back and change my style sheet so that it looked slightly more accurate to what my production looked like. Besides this though, I am still of the opinion that my planning went well in some form on a whole, but yet still believe that I can go back and make some improvements to it.
  • 5. Time Management • At first, when I started my PowerPoint work, I felt that I managed my time well especially with the first few of the PowerPoint i.e. Initial plans, Research , with these power points I felt that I managed my time in a good enough manor to keep up with the pace of the work rate. Also with my proposal document, I believe that this was the document that I completed the fastest, as I already knew straight away what I was going to include into my material of it as I already knew what I was planning to do for my actual production, so on a whole I was quick in doing my proposal document and had plenty of time to go back and read over it several times. When I came to my experiments , I felt that time wise I feel slightly behind as I felt that I was struggling with what I should put onto my experiments and by the time I had thought of what to put on them and actually got them done I had practically run out of time and had still yet to fill in the areas of which I had to type In ‘what I did/process/if was going to use any material in final production’. With my pre-production PowerPoint I have mixed feelings for the time management within this PowerPoint , because there was stages of which I was sticking to my time management and also times of which I had in fact fallen behind with my work resulting in not having being stuck my time management plan. • When it came too my actual production on a whole level I thought that I was on time and kept up with my time management, for example at first when it came too the first stage of my actual production I was of the opinion that I was managing my time, well until it came too the stage that I had to change the first part of my production, I slowly fell behind with my work, which I found to be difficult as I began too find it stressful and hard to keep up with the workload.
  • 6. Technical Qualities The image in the top left corner of the screen is an already existing product example and the one in the top right corner is my product, I am going too compare the similarities and differences of both. The already existing product has the same kind of 3D style effect covering over the text. It also makes use of it including the same kind of main background image and that is the idea of having a picture of ‘captain America’ dead centre of the of the background, both of which include him holding his shield in some way or another. The titles of the two products appear to look slightly similar in some sense, as they look to be in the same position , apart from the fact that the already existing product has a more larger/bigger, also they make use of, the text kind of overlapping each other. Mine also stands out , due to the way of which I added in a glow feature, around the edge of it, which also made it help too stand out, compared to the more darker background, along with the way that. The red is more of a darker style which in a way helps to grab the readers attention. On a whole however I believe that my text, stands out more on from the way that I have added in outer glows to the text, which very ,much helps it to stand out, even if there is small parts of text. The background of the already existing product is much more lighter than mine, but I believe that mine looks better and it draws in the audience more
  • 7. Technical qualities The top left corner of the screen is an example of an already existing product and in the top right hand corner is my production poster. The existing product and my product both have some things in similar and they both have things in difference. Both mine and already existing product have the same color scheme in some place, the background color scheme for this ,is the same as the background color scheme for the bottom half of my poster, with the artic/ice area. If you look closely at the poster , you can see how the image that represents my whole bottom half of my poster can be seen behind the characters viewed on the already existing product. The already existing product and my product can be show to be very similar, as by how my product has the idea of the cars in and the existing has the idea of the family/characters in.. Making them link together more. The existing product has the quote, ‘family no more’ in the top corner of the screen, I have a very similar thing if you look at my production at the very bottom it says ‘all roads lead too this’. This is similar to it because of the way that they use the same particular font/text but in a different color and different position.
  • 8. Technical qualities • In the top left corner of the screen, I have an example of an already existing animation game and in the top right corner I have my animation game. • From the comparison of my game and the already existing product , I can automatically see that there is an immediate difference and that is of the color difference. As the already existing product, has a much darker color scheme which gives the more sense that it is more of a danger/fighting game, whereas my game has the idea of it being more brighter colors, which gives it a sense of it being more of a happier kind/ will appeal to the audience much more as it appears to be a happier game, shown by the more brighter colors. • Although that my game can be seen to be more appealing to the audience by the brighter colors, it is shown that the already existing product, is much more detailed compared to my game , but although that can be seen to be a bad thing, it also isn’t as I originally wasn’t planning on making my game to be so complicated, I wanted to make my game so that it was a tad on the basic side and much more easier to play, than of how the already existing product appears to be to play.
  • 9. Technical Qualities • Also when comparing the already existing product and my product, you can see that, the already existing product has made use of including more text parts in the front cover, where as in my product I have made more use of using picture images in my front cover, which I believe on a whole too be much more interactive as it kind of shows more , what is included/mentioned in the magazine, however underneath the images, I have however included in some small text parts, but not much, it just briefly describes what the film is and what is going to be discussed/spoken about. • On the already existing product it has one image and that is the image for the background and the rest of the material for that set front cover Is based around it being text, this can be seen as a good thing as it is more detailed and is seen to have more material included in it. But there is so much text that, it could appear like it is overly crowed, but in some peoples eyes I don’t think that would matter because of the way that the text flows and the chosen font, some could appear to like the way of which it looked, in such a form that you get the sense that the font/text is from a more olden time sense. • with the colours of the already existing product being more brighter, it is going to draw in the audience more as the brighter colours appear to be much more appealing than the colours on my front cover, as the brighter the colours the better that it looks and the more chance you have of more people buying it. To improve my background next time, I will use the idea of using a more brighter background as I believe that it will attract/draw in the audience more by the brighter colors. • The brighter colors from the already existing product are shown by the way it kind of reflects of a gold tinted color from the center of the shield, which can also hint that the color is also based around a gold ish color.
  • 10. Aesthetic Qualities Yes I believe on a whole that my work looks good and is too a good enough standard and also is creative too a good enough level, this is too be said about all of my production which is , magazine cover, double page spread, advertisement poster and an ADV. Game. From my front cover, I particular like the aspect of the background cover and the idea of how I made a 3D like effect using ‘Captains Americas ‘ head to overlap with the title, to improve it I would enlarge the smaller parts of text that appear below the images, to make it look more clear. With my double page spread, I love the idea of how it flows together especially with the way that the image and the text link together into one kind of theme and the way that the image blends into the background clearly. I am also of the opinion that my film poster looks good, the main strength in my opinion is how it looks to have a 3D like effect on it, which is shown by the way that , I created it by cutting up two different posters, using the Polygon lasso tool, in a Photoshop document. To improve my poster I would spend more time on It, to make some slight adjustments/ improvements, so that it has the chance of looking slightly better. With my adv. Game I like the way how it is quite simple and easy to play, I also like the way that it has bright colours so it appeals to the audience more, which makes people want to play it.
  • 11. Audience Appeal Yes on a whole I do believe that I have met my target audience, this includes my target audience around, in my magazine front cover, double page spread, advetisment poster and my adv. Game. my target audience was more too be aimed around males and the age area of 20-30/40. My products met this age range, especially by the way of which the front cover of my magazine especially by the background colours/image of my front cover, this appeals to the target audience a lot, as the background has a 3D like effect to it. My double page spread, doesn’t appeal as much to the specific age range for my target audience, or if it does, It does so very slightly and it will be more towards the older age range, this can be shown by the font that is chosen and used for the text part of my double page spread, it is obviously from an older time, were that type of text would have been more common, but still in some sense it appeals too my target audience in a good enough manor, although maybe more towards the older target audience. With my poster I believe also that I met my target audience, in a good enough manor especially by the way of which I took two images too make and put them together, to create a 3D kind of effect, which helps too make it stand out, this also helps to draw in my male target audience and also appeal more too my younger age audience , hence from the way that it is a 3D like effect poster. On a whole with all my FMP production work , I believe that my FMP audience is based around the more middle class people , as I didn’t intend to make it appealed towards the higher class, I worked on my FMP, with the intention of it being aimed towards the middle class society, as more people from the middle class will view it.
  • 13. Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? From your final production in total ,I like the way of which your production flows together. For example like how you have the magazine cover background based around the topic for the adv.. Game, I also like the colour scheme of which what you chose for your magazine cover background as it helps to make the text stand out from others. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – I believe that you could have made your adv. Game too be slightly more detailed, then how It already is, as I believe that by your game being more detailed/complicated you will of had a better chance at getting a higher result/grade.
  • 14. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? – I like the way of which you presented you magazine double page spread, especially the way that the large image on the second page blends in with the colour background of the double page spread and also the style of which the font as in, as it In a way, represents the style of which the films age range is based around, so the target audience is represented from the text choice. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – I think that you could of, made the big image on the second page of your double page spread slightly smaller as, you will have been able too include in some more text, which will have made it seem more detailed.
  • 15. Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? – I like the way of which you made your adv. Game to be more of the basic style, as it doesn’t make it seem to be so complicated . • What improvements could have been made to the product? – I think that you should make your adv. Game slightly more detailed, but not so much that it makes it more complicated, maybe just add some more background features into it so that more seems to be happening
  • 16. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? – From my peer feedback, I agree with the way that my production work all flows together and in some way each piece links together In some form. I also agree with the fact that my double page spread and front cover from my magazine look good and well presented. • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? – I kind of disagree with the fact that I should add some more background features too my adv. Game because I believe that it could make it appear too be more complicated, then what it already is. But I also I see how by doing this it could draw people into wanting to play it more , although I also believe that it could make it appear slighty more complicated then of what it already is.
  • 17. Peer Feedback Summary Based upon my peer feedback I am planning on changing some things of my final production, for example with my magazine work from my final production, I am planning on making the large image from my double page spread slightly smaller/reposition it so that I will be able too fit a bit more text in, and place it just next too the image on the second page, also I make the text slightly smaller so that, but I am still going to keep the same text of which is already on my double page spread. I am also thinking about adding in the idea of adding in some more background detail to my adv. Game as it has been said that, my game would look better if I was too add in some more features to the background of the game and that is what I am planning on doing. Some features which I may include could be the idea of some random features, like flying objects, that could come flying down and hit the shield , but yet bounce off, I will still use these similar colour scheme.
