Conformity Quotes In Fahrenheit 451
Don t step on the toes of the dog lovers, the cat lovers, doctors, lawyers, merchants, chiefs, Mormons,
Baptist, Unitarians, second generation Chinese, Swedes, Germans, Texans ,Brooklynites, Irishmen,
people from Oregon, or Mexico. (Bradbury 57). This quote, a statement from Captain Beatty, is an
example of how conformity is a big ideology in the society. His statement proves that they believe
conforming removes conflict. Take away opinions, likes, dislikes, and everyone is happy. Tell the
people how they should feel and what they should believe. Montag s society s idea of a utopia is that
compliance is honing. Mildred backed away as if she were suddenly confronted by a pack of mice that
had come out of the floor. (Bradbury 66). In this quote, Bradbury describes Mildred s reaction to being
presented books by Montag. An example of complying to the law. She reacts in fear to illegal objects.
She is unsure of why she s apprehensive of the books, other than that because the society says she
should be. If a book, tradition, or common practice, anything human, doesn t conform to the societal
standards, then it is offensive, therefore in need of being burned, or forgotten. They erase books to
erase the past. Erase tradition. An example to support the previous statement is when Beatty says,
Colored people don t like Little Black Sambo. Burn it. White people don t feel good about Uncle Tom
s Cabin. Burn it. Someone s written a book on tobacco and cancer of the lungs? The

Racism In America Chapter 1 Summary
In Chapter 1, Alexander provides a brief history of race and racism in America. For those readers less
familiar with the narrative of American history, this tour through slavery, Bacon s Rebellion,
Reconstruction, Jim Crow, Populism, the end of Jim Crow through Board, and the Civil Rights
Movement of the 1950s and 1960s is very instructive. Even if this narrative sounds familiar though,
what comes next is probably less so. The backlash to the Civil Rights Movement manifested itself in
the Southern Strategy and the first construction of stereotypes such as lazy welfare cheats and black
criminals. Law and order rhetoric became a popular way to stoke hostility towards blacks; it was
carried out by conservatives to win votes among poor whites.

Montana Dietetic Internship Personal Statement Essay
Montana Dietetic Internship Personal Statement:
My first introduction to nutrition began at age eleven when I would often read health books at my
leisure. As a result, I slowly began practicing nutritious habits and even encouraged family members
to join me. After realizing how I positively impacted close family members into making healthier diet
and lifestyle choices, I came to understand the value that education can have in creating change. I was
eager and motivated to start a career helping others live healthier lives and desired to use my dietetics

TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY EFFECTS ON COMPOSITE MATERIAL PROPERTIES
ANSHUL and RAHUL
ABSTRACT
This paper discusses the different properties of composite materials under static testing condition to
determine the effect of aging due to change in temperature and moisture content. Effects on tensile,
shear, impact, stiffness and fatigue parameters are studied. For each property, application specific
composite materials are taken into consideration with different stacking sequence and number of plies.
Different samples of these are then introduced to different hygrothermal environments for example:
temperatures ranging from 50 degree Celsius to +50 degree Celsius or kept in wet conditions for 24
hours at different temperatures of 21, 37 and 50 degree Celsius etc. Different tests are performed
based on the material property to observe a change from the initial unaged specimen. To study every
property a different test method is discussed. A final comparison for each property between the unaged
and aged specimen is shown in order to see the property s dependence on temperature and moisture.
This comparison highlights the temperature and moisture dependent properties and showcase a trend.
Properties like tensile modulus, shear modulus, shear strength, flexural stiffness and fatigue life show
a decrease with increase in temperature and moisture content while Poisson s ratio and impact strength
increase with increase in temperature and moisture content.

Spirits Homecoming
Based on the true story of Kang Il Chul, a comfort woman, the completion and screening of Spirits
Homecoming was a triumph on itself, as you can read here. The script moves on two axes: The first
one takes place in 1943, during Japanese Occupation of Korea. 14 year old Jung min lives a poor but
happy life with her parents in the countryside. Her life changes radically for the worse, when she is
picked by the Japanese army to act as a comfort woman for the soldiers, as the authorities picked this
way to comfort the stressed soldiers of the front. As her life becomes a living hell, with the beating
and raping being an everyday occurrence, she manages to make friend, Jung min. Evenutally, along
with some other girls, she tries to escape. The second axis takes place in 1991, where an older Jing
min works as a tailor. One of her clients is the chief priest of a temple, where the newest members is a
medium, Eun kyeong. The young girl, who has fallen victim to rape, seems to be able to communicate
with Jung min. Two radically different axes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first one, he depicts the horror of the conditions of the comfort girls lives in the most graphic
and cruel fashion. The grotesque sense is heightened even more by the almost constant sound of
screaming and beatings, as Cho paints Japanese soldiers with the darkest colors, since the act like
animals, with only one exception among them. This recurring theme is exemplified in an artfully
photographed sequence, with a panoramic take that shows the terrible things that occur in all of the
small rooms in the building, simultaneously. There are some scenes that are quite beautiful, as the
ones in the beginning where Jung min rides in the back of her father s bike and the one where the girls
are sitting over a kind of pond and sing, but the general sense is truly horrific, as it is

Popular Mechanics Raymond Carver Summary
1. What is the title of the text and what is the text about? Popular Mechanics by Raymond Carver is a
story that deals with an obvious dispute between a couple that is divorcing, or a least separating. The
text deals with an unfortunate fight that seems to also involve the couples child, which is an infant. 2.
What is the author s view? How do I know? It is difficult to discern what views the author chooses to
express in this story, that is a dispute that goes awry. With the use of short punchy sentences as well as
cursing and other aggressive tones, the author seems to have and understanding of what a horrid fight
may be like. The personal beliefs of this author is difficult to figure out, as little evidence is given to
the reader. The author clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3. What is the evidence presented by the author to support ideas? The idea of separation and
aggression can be seen in themes highlighted in the story. Specifically with references to snow in the
beginning of the story, the idea of purity and innocence being lost is mentioned as evidences by the
dirtying of the snow. The idea of anger is rampant, and can be seen especially with the woman who is
angered as she is seen doing the most swearing, whereas the male simply moves forward and seems to
not want to discuss problems any longer. 4. Is the evidence valid? How do I know? The evidence of
the dirtying of snow is valid, and that is known as it sets the tone for the rest of the story and its
conflict (Carver R). The idea of darkness and bitterness is continued. 5. Is the evidence relevant? How
do I know? The evidence is extremely relevant, as it allows to set an appropriate tone in the story. The
distance, disappointment and anger that is seen between the couple is so evident that it acts as the
main drive of the story. Without the indicator of anger, the story would lack appropriate tone, making
the evidence important as well as relevant. 6. Have I heard/read anything similar or dissimilar? What

Frederic Douglass Essay
The United States of America is a country that was founded on the basic principles of freedom and
liberty. This often leaves it with a reputation as a land full of hope, where anything is possible as long
as one is willing to work hard for it. Unfortunately, this idea is not always true. Frederick Douglas,
who was born a slave, did not have the privelege of this aforementioned freedom, liberty, and social
mobility. Even though he was an exceptionally bright man, he was enslaved and persecuted because of
his skin color. His life represents both the failure and success of the American dream, with the failure
being the extremely more dominant, because of the color of his skin.

(Quote where he says he felt freedom) Feeling this yearnig from freedom at such a young age shows
that being free was a god given right or quot;Law of nature quot;, as Jefferson so eloquently stated in
the Declaration of Independence. With all of this is mind it is very clear Douglass being born in to
slavery was a deifinite failure of the American Dream.
amp;#9;In the Declaration of Independence one of the most famous portions goes as follows: quot;We
hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed to certain
unailiable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. quot; This pursuit of
happiness is a very important part of the American dream, for it is the result of all the rights that were
layed out. By being alloted these rights a person is free to pursue happiness in their life, whatever
happiness may be to them.
amp;#9;It is very ironic that when Douglass finally got his first taste of freedom he had to be
deceptive in sneaking away from his owner, just as the writers of the constution were deceptive in
their defintion of quot;man quot;. Once Douglass escaped from slavery he was surprised to find that
the north also a very racist place. Not only did the majority of northern whites still feel that blacks
were inferiour, New York was full of people looking to turn in fugitive slaves. Frederick also found
that his abolitionist friends were not free from this prejudice. At gatherings

The Theory Of Cognitive Approach On Eating Disorders
Eating Disorders (ED) are a real epidemic plaguing industrialized and developed societies, affecting
mostly adolescents and young adults (Benas Gibb 2011). In general, the flawed thinking of people
suffering from such diseases is characterized by an obsession with perfection of the body. The impact
that eating disorders have on women has always been more prevalent than on males. (Benas Gibb
2011; Polivy Herman 2002). The culture bound syndromes are constellations of signs and symptoms,
that are restricted to certain the cultural pressure to lose weight, which is considered a key element of
the etiology of these disorders, therefore, along with biological, psychological and family factors have
been generating an excessive preoccupation with the body, an abnormal fear of becoming fat and
anxiety markedly accompanied by changes in the body schema. These are therefore the characteristics
of Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and Anorexia Nervosa (AN). The following ten literature review attempt to
demonstrate and support the theory of cognitive approach on eating disorders, briefly understanding
the neurobiological mechanisms.
Eating Disorders are defined as deviations of eating behavior that can lead to extreme weight loss
(cachexia) or obesity, among other physical problems and disabilities. The main types of eating
disorders are Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. These two diseases are closely related because
they represented some symptoms in common: a prevalent idea involving

Entanglement and Quantum Mechanics
Entanglement is one of the most fundamental and yet unintuitive concepts in quantum mechanics.
Maximally entangled two qubit states, often called Bell states, where shown to violate classical (local)
correlation properties [33, 34] and are an essential building block for quantum communication and
distributed quantum computation. Unfortunately, such entangled states are also difficult to generate
and sustain as interaction with a noisy environment typically leads to rapid loss of their unique
quantum properties. In the context of QSC, such an entanglement has been generated exploring
various types of interactions such as direct qubit qubit interaction [35, 36], coupling to a common
cavity mode [37] or photon mediated interactions for qubits embedded in a waveguide [38].
In this context, remote entanglement of spatially separated quantum systems have important im
plications in addressing the scaling problem for quantum information processing. Indeed, as a solution
to this scaling issue, we propose here to follow a modular approach where the quantum information is
encoded, protected and locally manipulated in small units consisting of a few cavity modes or/and few
qubits and the communication between modules is ensured through quantum teleportation techniques.
Sharing of a pair of entangled subsystems between two modules is central for these teleportation pro
tocols. While the isolation of the modules simplifies the scaling by avoiding any undesired cross talk
between the

Analysis Of Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell Of Arms
World War I, also known as the Great War, was a war of courage, glory, and selflessness. A Farewell
to Arms, written by Ernest Hemingway, is a recollection of his war experiences. The protagonist, an
American Lieutenant named Fredric Henry, struggles to find the middle ground between his affair
with the beautiful and radiant Catherine Barkley and pursuing heroism in the Great War. The lovers
lives are turned upside down once they realize they are infatuated with each other. Like Lieutenant
Henry, when Hemingway was serving at the front, he was wounded, was decorated by the Italian
Government, and spent considerable time in hospitals (nobelprize.org). In the hospital, Henry grew
impatient because he could not immediately walk away from the facility and his problems.
Hemingway uses characterization to develop the people within the story as well as the underlining
motifs of loyalty, love, and masculinity. Lieutenant Fredric Henry traveled to Italy for the soul purpose
of participating in World War I and touring Italy. His intensions become less defined when he meets
Catherine Barkley. Hemingway draws the reader farther and farther into the novel with Fredric s
thoughts, and the beauty he sees within Catherine. Fredric quickly becomes involved in playing
innocent games with her. Catherine hints at the game, questioning if Fredric loved her. After he
responds with a lie, Catherine catches him off guard by replying, You don t have to pretend to love
me. That s over for the

Gwendolyn Brook And Kwame Dawess Analysis
The African American Struggle Through Contemporary Poetry Ai, Gwendolyn Brooks, and Kwame
Dawes are all contemporary African American poets. Their works often focused on different aspects
of the post civil rights movement in the African American community. Ai was known for writing
poetry on hard subjects. She was also known for writing poems that were graphic. Being multiracial,(
1/2 Japanese, 1/8 Choctaw, 1/4 Black, and 1/16 Irish), many of her poems were based on the
complexity of identity ( qtd. in Ai, a Steadfast Poetic Channel of Hard Lives, Dies at 62 ). On the other
hand, Kwame Dawes is a Nigerian born man of Jamaican descent. Gwendolyn Brooks was an African
American woman whose adult years were spent during the civil rights movement. Tornado Child is a
poem written by Kwame Dawes in 2002. It celebrates different aspects of black womanhood. In
contrast, Gwendolyn Brook s We Real Cool is written in the sixties and talks about the negative
aspects of stereotypes. The Kid by Ai is graphic and depicts violence. All of the poems demonstrate
different struggles that are faced by the African American community. This essay will specifically
examine the African American struggle through the lens of misogynoir, stereotypes, and the
destruction of black families. The first poem, Tornado Child by Kwame Dawes, explores the African
American struggle through misogynoir. Dictionary.com describes misogynoir as the specific hatred,

The Role Of Independent And Non Medical Prescribing
The Role of Independent and Non Medical Prescribing: Prescribing is defined and the process
involving information gathering, clinical decision making, communication and evaluation which then

the prescriber takes responsibility for the clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of patients.

The following is a time line of the UK history of non medical prescribers and the factors influencing
its development. Prescribing in Australia is authorised by individual state and territory legislations that
deal with drugs and poisons. These legislations allow various levels of health professionals to
administer/supply medications under an assortment of protocols or direct order agreements. Any
prescriber must also follow processes that have been determined by their professional bodies, which is
legally binding in Australia. Legally, prescribers must also maintain all confidentiality and privacy
clauses. Also, the patient s health and wellbeing should be the focus of all decision making so that no
harm should come to the patient. The knowledge and skills obtained from the required training should
be used to optimise patient s health. Ethics of prescribing in Australia is a philosophy of clinical
practice that follows the following four principles the form the main framework for ethical decision
making; 1. Beneficence a. This is the duty by the health professional to do good. This usually overlaps
with efficacy, which is outlined by evidence based practice. 2. Non maleficence a. This refers to the
health professional s obligations to do no harm to patients. This includes avoiding adverse drug

Norman, The Conqueror And The Norman Army
Norman success in late 11th century England
The tactics used by William the Conqueror and the Norman army, militarily, administratively, and
culturally, impacted their success in imposing their power within the English kingdom. These tactics
worked in tandem, increasing the success of each of their objectives. The military force used by the
Normans was useful in gaining and later maintaining territories for the crown, the administration
allowed William the Conqueror s reign to act in a more effective manner under him in the early days
of his rule, and the cultural and religious structures allowed the Normans to integrate the already
closely tied Norman and English societies.
Arguably the most important factor in the exertion of power over the English was the ability by the
Normans to act militarily. The warlike attitude of the Normans, combined with the religious aspects
that will be discussed later, provided them with a ready and capable army with which to support
William s claim to the throne. The early years of William s rule, after the 1066 defeat of Harold,
emerged as a sort of military occupation within England by the Normans. These years were crucial in
the Norman advance within England. When William came to England he arrived with a large support
of military men and much of these supporting military men remained in England because of their
military duties. This army aided William not only in the initial battle against Harold, but later as well,
through their

against the issue of the letter, saying that it is a useful letter of awareness, but nobody can predict
whether robots will gain full autonomy in the future. (Lin qtd. in Knight Par.8) While the idea of
preserving human lives, the danger of robots given their free will could result in more than the deaths
of the adversary, but also innocent civilians. The liberty of the robots will make them persons and not
necessarily comply with our demands, since their freedom is superior to our control. In what follows, I
will argue that war robots are not persons and should not be given a higher level of autonomy and
moral value and that humans should keep them under control. Robots reduce the need for humans in
combat and therefore save the lives of soldiers, sailors and pilots. What parent would send their child
into a war zone if a robot could do the job instead? (Parkin Par. 8) Certainly, human lives are fragile
and are not finite, but one must not forget to consider

Mental Disorders And Social Media Analysis
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has long been a way for doctors to
assign a diagnosis to those who are living with a mental illness. While the terms of the disorder have
changed over time, this book has been more of a bible for the classification of mental disorders,
provided treatment options and a better understanding of the problems in general. Today while on the
DSM 5, we have another, not always reliable source for the everyday person, called Google Search. In
the twenty first century medical information and symptoms are resting under the fingertips of millions
who have access to the internet. Some days this may be helpful, but with easier access to this
information it is easier to self diagnose, and by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While some may argue this as a problem of a rise of the mentally ill, it also shows the growth of
awareness toward different disorders. Just a few decades ago it, someone that today might be
classified as down in the dumps or blue can now be diagnosed with different forms of depression
(Conley, 2015, p.433). The awareness and medical research has only recently become main stream.
The internet has made the stigma of having a mental illness, or even a physical illness, away. Today a
patient is more willing to research signs and symptoms of an illness and ask for some help, instead of
going to the doctor and assuming that they will find everything that is wrong with

The Mysterious Life of Edgar Allan Poe
There are different types of reading. There are novels, nonfiction works and tons of different genres.
But, some people like a story that is short and to the point; Edgar Allan Poe is an author who can
provide that. Although he had a rough life, Poe worked very hard to become the skillful author that is
known today. Some people like horror stories and others like romances. Edgar Allan Poe is a widely
accepted poet and author. He is known for his sullen horror stories and all of the tragedies in his life.
Two of his most known stories are The Tell Tale Heart and The Fall of the House of Usher. At first, the
stories seem like they have nothing in common. After analyzing the stories, they actually have quite a
bit in common.

Poe soon began his career as a starving writer. Although his foster father, John Allan, had remarried a
wealthy woman, he refused to help Edgar, who was always asking for more money. In 1831, he went
to New York City. Edgar had submitted stories to multiple magazines in hopes that they would be
published. His attempts were all rejected. Poe stated in his last letter to his foster father in 1833 that it
had been more than two years since the last time they had spoken. He requested his foster father s pity
for not having any friends and not being employed. He wanted aid and pity to save him from further
destruction. John Allan never responded. Allan later died on March 27, 1834 and took Poe out of the
will completely. His cousin, Virginia became Poe s love interest and an inspiration to him as well
(Biography Channel). He married Virginia in 1836. At the time, she was only 13. Some sources say
that she was 14. Poe s literary talents only started to show in 1835 when he became an assistant editor
at the Southern Literary Messenger in Richmond. After taking the position his literature started to
become more popular and was published (Mystery Net).
During his later life, he continued to work at The Messenger. While working there, Poe was both an
editor and a contributor (Mystery Net). During the year 1836, Poe had credits for about 80 or 90

The City Harmonic Essay
The City Harmonic: The band uniting the Church through music
By Jessica Morris
The City Harmonic is not your average church worship band. For one, the four members based in
Hamilton, Ontario attend different churches. This then, is why their commitment to expressing unity
and crossing denominational boundaries is so prominent on their album WE ARE.
We ve always felt like we re a little bit different than the typical model of a worship band and have

Wal Mart is a company based in North America but has become the largest retailer and is larger than

Essay On My Vacation
Everyone has gone on some form of vacation in their lives. I have gone on many vacations that have
been very hectic, but the cruise that I went on might have been the craziest. It all started with how we
were getting to the port in South Carolina. We couldn t fit me, my younger brother, my younger step
brother, my older step brother, my older step sister, my aunt, and my stepmom all into my stepmom s
tiny BMW, so we had to rent a big van. When we got to the car rental place, it turns out that the
company had accidentally gave the van we rented to someone else. After my stepmom did a little bit
of yelling, we got an even bigger van for less than the other one. Next comes the 13 hour car ride. My
7 year old step brother, Max, wouldn t sit still the whole ride and kept screaming at his I Pad every
time he lost his game. My 10 year old brother, Ryan, was sitting right next to Max screaming with him
like he was still 7. My step sister Emma and I were very annoyed and tired, so we both took about 3

Analysis Of Woodrow Wilson s The Straw That Broke The...
Following WW1, Europe was left in a bad state. Empires were destroyed and states were being
formed. The Minority question that arose following the war, albeit important, was not as much of a
destabilizing force in this time as people like to think. It was only the byproduct of events that took
place. These events include the publishing of the fourteen points, the settlements made during the
Paris Peace conference, and the creation of state constitutions. The minority question was, in essence,
the straw that broke the camel s back, breaking the already damaged infrastructure of post war Europe.
In order to answer the question on why minority rights became such a destabilizing force after the war,
we must first look at what caused this problem to become the forefront of many European minds. Two
pivotal events took place following the war that left stains on Europe; stains that, to some, indirectly
led to the start of World War 2. The first and most important event was the publishing of Woodrow
Wilson s fourteen points on January 8, 1918. These points were created in the hope to promote peace
and harmony among the recently war stricken nations of Europe. One prominent point that came from
this document was the idea of self determination. This encouraged people to form their own nation
where they could choose rulers and live amongst others who share the same culture. This piqued the
interest of the millions of people living in the various, and heavily

A Very Brief Look at Russian History
The country of Russia has a rich history which, unfortunately, cannot be discussed in its entirety
within the context of this briefing book. It should be noted that early modern Russia is often
characterized by the strong rulers that presided at the time, and the legacies they left that have helped
shape Russia.
The beginning of modern Russia begins with Peter the Great, who began a period of reforms and
westernization under his reign. He brought many European customs to the elites, attempting to
eradicate some archaic practices, as well as introducing technology that Russia sorely lacked. He
modernized the military, attempting to thrust Russia onto the international stage and make the country
a contender in world politics. He also consolidated the country under his rule, even going so far as to
move the capital to St. Petersburg. Often these reforms were financed and instituted with the labor of
peasants, so his legacy remains controversial. Peter s reforms were furthered by Catherine the Great, a
liberal reformer at the onset of her reign. Due to her, Russia s influence expanded within Europe and
Asia. However, she reversed many reforms later on, contributing to the strife felt by the peasantry.
Another phase in Russia s history that is notable is that of Napoleon s ill conceived incursion into the
country in 1812. Instead of fighting conventionally, Russia s military generals prudently decided to try
a defensive approach, whereby they retreated and left a barren

The Long Profile Of A River
Introduction
In this investigation, I will be investigating the changes along the long profile of a river. In order to do
this, I will be collecting data and making observations at three different points along the river; the
upper course, the middle course, and the lower course.
The river which I will be conducting my observations would be on Bartley Water. Bartley Water is a
river going through the New Forest which is located in the south of the UK, Hampshire. The source of
the river begins from Bartley, 109m above sea level, and joins to its end at Eling, flowing into
Southampton Water. The river has a length of 27km and a catchment area of 40sqkm. It is a tributary
of the River Test. The river bed contains of a mixture of sand, silt and clay which can change as the
river behaves due to erosion, transportation and deposition.
The sites which I will be investigating on are:
Site one is at Buskett s Lawn, grid reference: 309109
Site two is at Woodlands, grid reference: 325006
Site three is at Eling, grid reference: 362124
The surroundings of these areas differ at each site. Site one is mostly rural areas whereas, when it
moves onto the last site, it becomes an urban area. These will affect on the course and direction of the
river and its characteristics.
The long profile of a river describes how the characteristics of the river vary from the upper course to
the lower course. A quicker and easier way to present this idea is through a Bradshaw Model (see the

Causes And Effects Of The Green Revolution
When people discuss the Green Revolution they are talking about the quick adoption of new
technologies and the introduction of new scientifically bred crop varieties. The Green Revolution took
place due to inadequate amounts of food, depleted land, and economic poverty. Many changes
occurred as a result, some being positive and some being negative. A positive effect of the Green
Revolution was an increased amount of food being available for the population. However, the reduced
availability of nutritious crops, water shortages, and increased tensions and conflicts deterred some
gains of the movement. Because of this, the Green Revolution was more harmful than helpful. There
were many major issues around the world that brought around the start of the Green Revolution. One
major cause was the inadequate amount of food in relation to the population. In Doc. 1, a graph is
provided that compares the wheat yielded in Mexico and India from 1950 2010. From 1950 1970, the
graph shows that Mexico s crops yielded low amounts of wheat. For India, the graph shows that the
crops yielded low amounts of wheat from 1965 1985 which was after the Green Revolution began.
The purpose of this graph was to provide the statistics on wheat yielded and how it changed over the
decades. The intended audience of this graph was the scientists who wanted to see the progression
before and after the revolution. This graph is significant to the topic because it shows that the low
amount of wheat yielded

INTRODUCTION
While there are those who may be uncomfortable with the idea that worship is a goal in making
disciples, the goal of Christian education according to Mitchell is to make a disciple who worships
Jesus. Mitchell points out that worship is more than just showing up at church on Sunday morning for

A second way is when someone starts the process of becoming a disciple or being a disciple, such as
in Matthew 27:57 or Luke 14:26 27. Lastly, there are those who are referred to as disciples that only
occasionally followed Jesus, such as those in Matthew 8:21. Samra summarizes discipleship
succinctly by saying that it is the process of becoming like Christ.
A one on one discipling relationship allows for the greatest accountability and requires the greatest
amount of trust on the part of both individuals. This type of discipleship often is the strongest and
most effective to achieve true spiritual growth. While it is quite easy to evade issues that may be
struggles in your life while listening to expository preaching or in a Sunday school setting, it is almost
impossible when in a one on one relationship with another Christian. As a result of the trust that has
been developed in the course of the relationship and the permission given by both parties to ask the
tough questions of each other, there is no escaping the immense amount of learning that can produce a
great deal of spiritual maturity in a new Christian.
While the goal of Christian education and discipleship is spiritual formation of the new believer into a
true disciple who makes other true disciples, this concept has been watered down in the American
church today by emphasis on programs instead of progressive spiritual growth in every member s life.

Ascetic Hermits
Every single person in the world, regardless of their race, religion or gender, is different. Therefore,
there is more than one way to reach God, enlightenment, or whatever each respected person chooses
to believe in. In Christianity, there are two main paths taken to reach the divine; the communal path
embracing obedience and the individual route which focuses on asceticism. The Sayings of the Desert
Fathers and The Rule of St. Benedict in English reveal what each road to the divine entails while
explaining how the ascetic hermits and monks live for the mutual goal of reaching unity with God.
When taking the communal path to reach salvation, some people decide to become obedient monks
and live in monasteries. Once in a monastery, monks are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These followers can be referred to as ascetic hermits since they heavily rely on self discipline rather
than obedience. Hermits are constantly in journey, they don t have a permanent residency since they
withdraw themselves from society and all other formal ways of living. In order to be an ascetic hermit,
one must live off the food of the land, since they are living in complete isolation other than when they
pass by monasteries and stay for a few days. Therefore, hermits must have discernment and be able to
discipline themselves to stay on course with what God s scriptures tell them to do. If they fall off
course, they pray and confess their sins to God. Abba Anthony in The Sayings of the Desert Fathers
said that the great work of hermits was to always take the blame for his own sins before God and to
expect temptation to his last breath (Ward 2). Everyone will always have temptations, it s what makes
them human. However, it is one s own choice in whether to act on them or not. Ascetic hermits on the
individual path to the divine also practice hesychasm, which is constant prayer and silence. Bessarion,
a Desert Father, told a story when [he] came to [a prisoner s] cell [he] found [the prisoner] standing at
prayer with his hands raised towards heaven. For fourteen days he remained thus (Ward 41). This is

Kurt Lewin ( 1947 ) Divides The Change Process Essay
Answer 1.
Kurt Lewin (1947) divides the change process into 3 steps. Unfreezing, Changing and Freezing. It is a
very simple and practical model for understanding the change process. It is widely used and is a basis
for many change models. He widely stages them as follows:
a) Creating the perception that change is needed.
b) Moving towards the new desired level of behavior.
c) Solidifying the new behavior as the norm.
UNFREEZING
Unfreezing raises an initial awareness of the need for change. It is the first step in the change process.
As many people will resist change the goal during unfreezing is to create awareness as to how the
current level is hindering the organization in some way. Old behavior, ways of thinking, procedures
and process followed, Human resource, Organisation structure must be carefully examined to clarify
the people in the organization the need for change to maintain competitive advantage. The Proprietor
needs to convince his people the logic behind change and how it will be beneficial at Individual and
Organisational level. Besides Lewin states that people should be motivated to accept change
As an owner of Pink Donkey catering Ltd who wants to open his own restaurant and bring major

Australia Is A Country That Is Diverse, Multicultural And...
Australia is a country that is diverse, multicultural and unique. Our geography and cultural history are
different to anywhere else, which has definitely captured the attention of the rest of the world. For
migrants from diasporic communities, assimilating to the Western identity while trying to maintain the
cultural heritage is not an easy task, especially during the 20th century, where racial discrimination
played a large role in impeding multiculturalism. I believe my childhood experiences is an example of
global framework where race, class and gender are the factors that made not only me, but mostly
every other coloured child living in Australia felt like we were second class citizens . But because of
such upbringings, my familial tie with my external family became more strong and made me who I am
today.
Primary school was not the best experience for me as I felt like I was already different for having been
born overseas, and I wasn t about to accentuate this quirk any further. Like every other child of
migrants from another country, I have felt the culture shock and alienation on the first couple of
months of primary school. This estrangement was especially strong for me because my school was
dominated by white kids. I was often picked on and laughed at because I couldn t speak any English.
During P.E. (Physical Education) classes, I was either singled out or last to be picked because I wasn t
one of them . I hated school. I felt unwanted because of my complexion.

Biography of Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson was born April 29, 1958 to a working class family in Gary, Indiana. His parents, Joe

very musically inclined. Michael s father played guitar in a small R B band, his mother sang

great freedom that all other maid servants were jealous of her: Rabbu and Begum Jaan were the

(Bradbury 57). This quote, a statement from Captain Beatty, is an example of how conformity is a big ideology in the society. His statement proves that they believe conforming removes conflict. Take away opinions, likes, dislikes, and everyone is happy. Tell the people how they should feel and what they should believe. Montag s society s idea of a utopia is that compliance is honing. Different samples of these are then introduced to different hygrothermal environments for example: temperatures ranging from 50 degree Celsius to +50 degree Celsius or kept in wet conditions for 24 hours at different temperatures of 21, 37 and 50 degree Celsius etc. Different tests are performed based on the material property to observe a change from the initial unaged specimen. To study every property a different test method is discussed. A final comparison for each property between the unaged and aged specimen is shown in order to see the property s dependence on temperature and moisture. This comparison highlights the temperature and moisture dependent properties and showcase a trend. Properties like tensile modulus, shear modulus, shear strength, flexural stiffness and fatigue life show a decrease with increase in temperature and moisture content while Poisson s ratio and impact strength increase with increase in temperature and moisture content. The script moves on two axes: The first one takes place in 1943, during Japanese Occupation of Korea. 14 year old Jung min lives a poor but happy life with her parents in the countryside. Her life changes radically for the worse, when she is picked by the Japanese army to act as a comfort woman for the soldiers, as the authorities picked this way to comfort the stressed soldiers of the front. As her life becomes a living hell, with the beating and raping being an everyday occurrence, she manages to make friend, Jung min. Evenutally, along with some other girls, she tries to escape. The second axis takes place in 1991, where an older Jing min works as a tailor. One of her clients is the chief priest of a temple, where the newest members is a medium, Eun kyeong. This recurring theme is exemplified in an artfully photographed sequence, with a panoramic take that shows the terrible things that occur in all of the small rooms in the building, simultaneously. • 8. Popular Mechanics Raymond Carver Summary 1. What is the title of the text and what is the text about? Popular Mechanics by Raymond Carver is a story that deals with an obvious dispute between a couple that is divorcing, or a least separating. The text deals with an unfortunate fight that seems to also involve the couples child, which is an infant. 2. What is the author s view? How do I know? It is difficult to discern what views the author chooses to express in this story, that is a dispute that goes awry. With the use of short punchy sentences as well as cursing and other aggressive tones, the author seems to have and understanding of what a horrid fight may be like. The personal beliefs of this author is difficult to figure out, as little evidence is given to the reader. The author clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3. What is the evidence presented by the author to support ideas? The idea of separation and aggression can be seen in themes highlighted in the story. Specifically with references to snow in the beginning of the story, the idea of purity and innocence being lost is mentioned as evidences by the dirtying of the snow. The idea of anger is rampant, and can be seen especially with the woman who is angered as she is seen doing the most swearing, whereas the male simply moves forward and seems to not want to discuss problems any longer. 4. Is the evidence valid? How do I know? The evidence of the dirtying of snow is valid, and that is known as it sets the tone for the rest of the story and its conflict (Carver R). The idea of darkness and bitterness is continued. 5. Is the evidence relevant? How do I know? The evidence is extremely relevant, as it allows to set an appropriate tone in the story. The distance, disappointment and anger that is seen between the couple is so evident that it acts as the main drive of the story. Without the indicator of anger, the story would lack appropriate tone, making the evidence important as well as relevant. 6. Have I heard/read anything similar or dissimilar? What was ... This often leaves it with a reputation as a land full of hope, where anything is possible as long as one is willing to work hard for it. Unfortunately, this idea is not always true. Frederick Douglas, who was born a slave, did not have the privelege of this aforementioned freedom, liberty, and social mobility. Even though he was an exceptionally bright man, he was enslaved and persecuted because of his skin color. His life represents both the failure and success of the American dream, with the failure being the extremely more dominant, because of the color of his skin. amp;#9;The most fundemental of aspect of the American dream is ... • 11. The Theory Of Cognitive Approach On Eating Disorders Eating Disorders (ED) are a real epidemic plaguing industrialized and developed societies, affecting mostly adolescents and young adults (Benas Gibb 2011). In general, the flawed thinking of people suffering from such diseases is characterized by an obsession with perfection of the body. The impact that eating disorders have on women has always been more prevalent than on males. (Benas Gibb 2011; Polivy Herman 2002). The culture bound syndromes are constellations of signs and symptoms, that are restricted to certain the cultural pressure to lose weight, which is considered a key element of the etiology of these disorders, therefore, along with biological, psychological and family factors have been generating an excessive preoccupation with the body, an abnormal fear of becoming fat and anxiety markedly accompanied by changes in the body schema. These are therefore the characteristics of Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and Anorexia Nervosa (AN). The following ten literature review attempt to demonstrate and support the theory of cognitive approach on eating disorders, briefly understanding the neurobiological mechanisms. Eating Disorders are defined as deviations of eating behavior that can lead to extreme weight loss (cachexia) or obesity, among other physical problems and disabilities. The main types of eating disorders are Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. These two diseases are closely related because they represented some symptoms in common: a prevalent idea involving ... • 13. Entanglement and Quantum Mechanics Entanglement is one of the most fundamental and yet unintuitive concepts in quantum mechanics. Maximally entangled two qubit states, often called Bell states, where shown to violate classical (local) correlation properties [33, 34] and are an essential building block for quantum communication and distributed quantum computation. Unfortunately, such entangled states are also difficult to generate and sustain as interaction with a noisy environment typically leads to rapid loss of their unique quantum properties. In the context of QSC, such an entanglement has been generated exploring various types of interactions such as direct qubit qubit interaction [35, 36], coupling to a common cavity mode [37] or photon mediated interactions for qubits embedded in a waveguide [38]. In this context, remote entanglement of spatially separated quantum systems have important im plications in addressing the scaling problem for quantum information processing. Indeed, as a solution to this scaling issue, we propose here to follow a modular approach where the quantum information is encoded, protected and locally manipulated in small units consisting of a few cavity modes or/and few qubits and the communication between modules is ensured through quantum teleportation techniques. Sharing of a pair of entangled subsystems between two modules is central for these teleportation pro tocols. While the isolation of the modules simplifies the scaling by avoiding any undesired cross talk between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Farewell to Arms, written by Ernest Hemingway, is a recollection of his war experiences. The protagonist, an American Lieutenant named Fredric Henry, struggles to find the middle ground between his affair with the beautiful and radiant Catherine Barkley and pursuing heroism in the Great War. The lovers lives are turned upside down once they realize they are infatuated with each other. Like Lieutenant Henry, when Hemingway was serving at the front, he was wounded, was decorated by the Italian Government, and spent considerable time in hospitals (nobelprize.org). In the hospital, Henry grew impatient because he could not immediately walk away from the facility and his problems. Hemingway uses characterization to develop the people within the story as well as the underlining motifs of loyalty, love, and masculinity. Lieutenant Fredric Henry traveled to Italy for the soul purpose of participating in World War I and touring Italy. His intensions become less defined when he meets Catherine Barkley. Hemingway draws the reader farther and farther into the novel with Fredric s thoughts, and the beauty he sees within Catherine. Fredric quickly becomes involved in playing innocent games with her. Their works often focused on different aspects of the post civil rights movement in the African American community. Ai was known for writing poetry on hard subjects. She was also known for writing poems that were graphic. Being multiracial,( 1/2 Japanese, 1/8 Choctaw, 1/4 Black, and 1/16 Irish), many of her poems were based on the complexity of identity ( qtd. in Ai, a Steadfast Poetic Channel of Hard Lives, Dies at 62 ). On the other hand, Kwame Dawes is a Nigerian born man of Jamaican descent. Gwendolyn Brooks was an African American woman whose adult years were spent during the civil rights movement. Tornado Child is a poem written by Kwame Dawes in 2002. It celebrates different aspects of black womanhood. In contrast, Gwendolyn Brook s We Real Cool is written in the sixties and talks about the negative aspects of stereotypes. The Kid by Ai is graphic and depicts violence. All of the poems demonstrate different struggles that are faced by the African American community. Norman, The Conqueror And The Norman Army Norman success in late 11th century England The tactics used by William the Conqueror and the Norman army, militarily, administratively, and culturally, impacted their success in imposing their power within the English kingdom. These tactics worked in tandem, increasing the success of each of their objectives. The military force used by the Normans was useful in gaining and later maintaining territories for the crown, the administration allowed William the Conqueror s reign to act in a more effective manner under him in the early days of his rule, and the cultural and religious structures allowed the Normans to integrate the already closely tied Norman and English societies. Arguably the most important factor in the exertion of power over the English was the ability by the Normans to act militarily. The warlike attitude of the Normans, combined with the religious aspects that will be discussed later, provided them with a ready and capable army with which to support William s claim to the throne. The early years of William s rule, after the 1066 defeat of Harold, emerged as a sort of military occupation within England by the Normans. These years were crucial in the Norman advance within England. • 28. Essay On My Vacation Everyone has gone on some form of vacation in their lives. I have gone on many vacations that have been very hectic, but the cruise that I went on might have been the craziest. It all started with how we were getting to the port in South Carolina. We couldn t fit me, my younger brother, my younger step brother, my older step brother, my older step sister, my aunt, and my stepmom all into my stepmom s tiny BMW, so we had to rent a big van. When we got to the car rental place, it turns out that the company had accidentally gave the van we rented to someone else. After my stepmom did a little bit of yelling, we got an even bigger van for less than the other one. Next comes the 13 hour car ride. My 7 year old step brother, Max, wouldn t sit still the whole ride and kept screaming at his I Pad every time he lost his game. My 10 year old brother, Ryan, was sitting right next to Max screaming with him like he was still 7. My step sister Emma and I were very annoyed and tired, so we both took about 3 melatonin gummies and tried to fall asleep. That s when the car ride went bad. My brothers were being loud the ... • 29. Analysis Of Woodrow Wilson s The Straw That Broke The... Following WW1, Europe was left in a bad state. Empires were destroyed and states were being formed. The Minority question that arose following the war, albeit important, was not as much of a destabilizing force in this time as people like to think. It was only the byproduct of events that took place. These events include the publishing of the fourteen points, the settlements made during the Paris Peace conference, and the creation of state constitutions. The minority question was, in essence, the straw that broke the camel s back, breaking the already damaged infrastructure of post war Europe. In order to answer the question on why minority rights became such a destabilizing force after the war, we must first look at what caused this problem to become the forefront of many European minds. Two pivotal events took place following the war that left stains on Europe; stains that, to some, indirectly led to the start of World War 2. The first and most important event was the publishing of Woodrow Wilson s fourteen points on January 8, 1918. These points were created in the hope to promote peace and harmony among the recently war stricken nations of Europe. One prominent point that came from this document was the idea of self determination. This encouraged people to form their own nation where they could choose rulers and live amongst others who share the same culture. This piqued the interest of the millions of people living in the various, and heavily ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. A Very Brief Look at Russian History The country of Russia has a rich history which, unfortunately, cannot be discussed in its entirety within the context of this briefing book. It should be noted that early modern Russia is often characterized by the strong rulers that presided at the time, and the legacies they left that have helped shape Russia. The beginning of modern Russia begins with Peter the Great, who began a period of reforms and westernization under his reign. He brought many European customs to the elites, attempting to eradicate some archaic practices, as well as introducing technology that Russia sorely lacked. He modernized the military, attempting to thrust Russia onto the international stage and make the country a contender in world politics. He also consolidated the country under his rule, even going so far as to move the capital to St. Petersburg. Often these reforms were financed and instituted with the labor of peasants, so his legacy remains controversial. Peter s reforms were furthered by Catherine the Great, a liberal reformer at the onset of her reign. Due to her, Russia s influence expanded within Europe and Asia. However, she reversed many reforms later on, contributing to the strife felt by the peasantry. Another phase in Russia s history that is notable is that of Napoleon s ill conceived incursion into the country in 1812. Instead of fighting conventionally, Russia s military generals prudently decided to try a defensive approach, whereby they retreated and left a barren ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Long Profile Of A River Introduction In this investigation, I will be investigating the changes along the long profile of a river. In order to do this, I will be collecting data and making observations at three different points along the river; the upper course, the middle course, and the lower course. The river which I will be conducting my observations would be on Bartley Water. Bartley Water is a river going through the New Forest which is located in the south of the UK, Hampshire. The source of the river begins from Bartley, 109m above sea level, and joins to its end at Eling, flowing into Southampton Water. The river has a length of 27km and a catchment area of 40sqkm. It is a tributary of the River Test. The river bed contains of a mixture of sand, silt and clay which can change as the river behaves due to erosion, transportation and deposition. The sites which I will be investigating on are: Site one is at Buskett s Lawn, grid reference: 309109 Site two is at Woodlands, grid reference: 325006 Site three is at Eling, grid reference: 362124 The surroundings of these areas differ at each site. Site one is mostly rural areas whereas, when it moves onto the last site, it becomes an urban area. These will affect on the course and direction of the river and its characteristics. The long profile of a river describes how the characteristics of the river vary from the upper course to the lower course. • 33. Causes And Effects Of The Green Revolution When people discuss the Green Revolution they are talking about the quick adoption of new technologies and the introduction of new scientifically bred crop varieties. The Green Revolution took place due to inadequate amounts of food, depleted land, and economic poverty. Many changes occurred as a result, some being positive and some being negative. A positive effect of the Green Revolution was an increased amount of food being available for the population. However, the reduced availability of nutritious crops, water shortages, and increased tensions and conflicts deterred some gains of the movement. Because of this, the Green Revolution was more harmful than helpful. There were many major issues around the world that brought around the start of the Green Revolution. One major cause was the inadequate amount of food in relation to the population. In Doc. 1, a graph is provided that compares the wheat yielded in Mexico and India from 1950 2010. From 1950 1970, the graph shows that Mexico s crops yielded low amounts of wheat. For India, the graph shows that the crops yielded low amounts of wheat from 1965 1985 which was after the Green Revolution began. The purpose of this graph was to provide the statistics on wheat yielded and how it changed over the decades. A second way is when someone starts the process of becoming a disciple or being a disciple, such as in Matthew 27:57 or Luke 14:26 27. Lastly, there are those who are referred to as disciples that only occasionally followed Jesus, such as those in Matthew 8:21. Samra summarizes discipleship succinctly by saying that it is the process of becoming like Christ. A one on one discipling relationship allows for the greatest accountability and requires the greatest amount of trust on the part of both individuals. This type of discipleship often is the strongest and most effective to achieve true spiritual growth. While it is quite easy to evade issues that may be struggles in your life while listening to expository preaching or in a Sunday school setting, it is almost impossible when in a one on one relationship with another Christian. As a result of the trust that has been developed in the course of the relationship and the permission given by both parties to ask the tough questions of each other, there is no escaping the immense amount of learning that can produce a great deal of spiritual maturity in a new Christian. While the goal of Christian education and discipleship is spiritual formation of the new believer into a true disciple who makes other true disciples, this concept has been watered down in the American church today by emphasis on programs instead of progressive spiritual growth in every member s life. The Sayings of the Desert Fathers and The Rule of St. Benedict in English reveal what each road to the divine entails while explaining how the ascetic hermits and monks live for the mutual goal of reaching unity with God. These followers can be referred to as ascetic hermits since they heavily rely on self discipline rather than obedience. Hermits are constantly in journey, they don t have a permanent residency since they withdraw themselves from society and all other formal ways of living. In order to be an ascetic hermit, one must live off the food of the land, since they are living in complete isolation other than when they pass by monasteries and stay for a few days. Therefore, hermits must have discernment and be able to discipline themselves to stay on course with what God s scriptures tell them to do. If they fall off course, they pray and confess their sins to God. Abba Anthony in The Sayings of the Desert Fathers said that the great work of hermits was to always take the blame for his own sins before God and to expect temptation to his last breath (Ward 2). Everyone will always have temptations, it s what makes them human. However, it is one s own choice in whether to act on them or not. • 40. Kurt Lewin ( 1947 ) Divides The Change Process Essay Answer 1. Kurt Lewin (1947) divides the change process into 3 steps. Unfreezing, Changing and Freezing. It is a very simple and practical model for understanding the change process. It is widely used and is a basis for many change models. He widely stages them as follows: a) Creating the perception that change is needed. b) Moving towards the new desired level of behavior. c) Solidifying the new behavior as the norm. UNFREEZING Unfreezing raises an initial awareness of the need for change. It is the first step in the change process. As many people will resist change the goal during unfreezing is to create awareness as to how the current level is hindering the organization in some way. Old behavior, ways of thinking, procedures and process followed, Human resource, Organisation structure must be carefully examined to clarify the people in the organization the need for change to maintain competitive advantage. The Proprietor needs to convince his people the logic behind change and how it will be beneficial at Individual and Organisational level. Besides Lewin states that people should be motivated to accept change As an owner of Pink Donkey catering Ltd who wants to open his own restaurant and bring major change in the way business is done, I would emphase on Unfreezing as a first step in change management process.
