written in third person with a specific emphasis on Buck, the main character. The third person point of
view enables the reader to learn about all the characters and their surroundings. Because of these

Call of the Wild is set in rugged Alaska; it is in the middle of nowhere with towns very sparse. Poor

and food. The dogs and their drivers are almost always hungry and exhausted. These conditions also
make their morale drop a great deal, which causes everyone to be desperate and irritable. The

The main characters in The Call of the Wild are Buck, Spitz, Hal, and John Thornton. The protagonist
in this story is Buck, the powerful hard working St. Bernard and Scotch Shepherd mix. There are two
main antagonists, Spitz and Hal. Spitz is a vicious and arrogant dog that despises Buck because he
challenges him for the lead dog position. They have several minor quarrels, but when their anger
explodes, they have a very intense fight to the death, during which Spitz meets his untimely demise.
The other antagonist, Hal, is an inexperienced and unskilled driver that doesn t know how to take care
of the dogs. Hal misjudges the supply amount, so they run out of, well, everything. Because of his
greed and quest for gold, Hal pushes and punishes the team far beyond their limits. Sadly, Hal beats

Anything to do with metal a welder is involved somehow. The first signs of welding were in the
Bronze Age what they did was heat the metal up in a forge so it s all red hot and soft and hammers it
till the two pieces were combined. All most any metal can be welded either with SMAW, GTAW,
GMAW, Gas or Oxy Acetylene welding. Welders are used to build skyscrapers, bridges, highways, oil
and natural gas pipelines, offshore oil platforms, giant wind turbines, solar panels, boilers, and anti

yourself, safety glasses/goggles to protect your eyes from flying projectiles, Welding gloves so you
don t get a sunburn and keep your hands protected from the extreme heat, Leathers or welding jackets

The framework of the human body is the skeletal system. Skeletal system organs include the bones,
joints, cartilages, ligaments, tendons and teeth. Bones offer support for the muscles, protect our vital
organs, and allow us to eat food. Our joints allow our body to move, twist and bend. Cartilage, like
our ears and nose, offer soft structures that are more malleable than bones. Two separate bones are
connected by ligaments, and bones and muscles are connected by tendons. Our teeth allow us to bite

3. Joints
Joints appear throughout our body. Our ability to move turn our head is because of our spine s ability
to twist and turn. Our shoulders and hips allow our arms to move in circles. Our elbows and knees are
hinge joints, which allow us to extend or retract our hands and feet. Our wrists and ankles give is the
ability to move them in circles. Our fingers and toes are hinge joints as well. Every place in your body
that moves, like your jaw, does so because of joints.
4. Ligaments
Ligaments are made of fibrous collagen tissue. The purpose of the ligaments are to connect two bones
to each other. These connects are located at joints, which control and enhance our movements. Our
hips, shoulders, elbows and knees are connected by ligaments. People who are double jointed have
ligaments that allow them to move their joints further than people who are not double jointed.
5. Tendons
Tendons, like ligaments, are also made of fibrous collagen tissue. Tendons connect muscles to bones,
which allow the movements of our muscles to cause our bones to move. When a muscle contracts, it
pulls the tendon which causes the bone in the arm to contract. When we walk, lift items, talk or make
dinner, we are moving our tendons.
6. Teeth
Our teeth allow us to bite and chew our food. Our teeth are connected to our jaw and are incredibly
durable. Teeth are one of the most important indicators of our health. Baby teeth are temporary teeth

The main theme of the Merchant of Venice is of Shylock, a Jew, and Antonio, a Christian taking part
in a deal involving the Jew lending the Christian a sum of money. The bond they make is that if
Antonio cannot pay Shylock back, Shylock can take legally a pound of Antonio s flesh as payment.
The other plots in the play consist of Jessica, Shylock s daughter eloping with Lorenzo, another
Christian and Antonio s friend Bassanio, who is courting a rich lady, Portia of Beaumont who are both

This would mean that a suitor if he chooses the wrong box, would have to leave and live forever as a
bachelor.
One suitor, a prince of Morocco, arrives only to choose the wrong casket and as he is leaving Portia
jokes with her servant Nerissa:

This comes across as Portia mocking the prince s black skin and blotches the kind and considerate
image of Portia that has been projected to the reader in earlier scenes.
Throughout the play, Shylock is continually mocked and projected as an evil man.
His daughter, Jessica eloping with Christian Lorenzo, and taking money and jewels with her, seems to
be a the subject of a sub plot written with the purpose to ridicule and mock Shylock even more than
would normally be acceptable. Even when Shylock attempts to stand up for himself and his beliefs,
the way in which he does this seems to give the other characters in the play even more reason to mock
him.
Shylock: Fair sir, you spit on me on Wednesday last,
You spurned me such a day, another time
You called me a dog, and for these courtesies,
I ll lend you thus much moneys?

Feminism In El Saadawi s Woman At Point Zero
Feminism is a worldly ideology that is recognized by everyone, some women are joining religious
groups despite their gender views. Others are fighting against the same groups, fearing the dangerous
mix of politics and religion misconception. Whether through or against religion they are choosing to
become part of the struggle for a better world. Non western women who proclaim themselves as
feminists often are critiqued for being disloyal to their culture and for selling out to western feminist
ideals. Through examining El Saadawi s book of Woman At Point Zero focusing on Islamic values and
western feminism, we can start to see where El Saadawi shapes Firdaus to stand on this issue of
femininity. The idea of feminism has a direct correlation to the Islam religion and what it expects of
Muslim women to do and act like. Because of preconceived notions that women are inferior to men, it
led to a stricter patriarchal regime.This made education for women become unnecessary because from
the beginning they were viewed like a tool for reproduction for the survival of the human species. In
Women Point Zero, the actions of Firdaus force men to change their beliefs and values to admit their
misconception about women. In the book the readers can infer the subconscious connection between
women and other women in a lower class. Lower class women have been through many problems in
the world and they are the wisest of them all because of their experiences compared to to higher class
women.

Soon a generation of young poets began various experiments, which led to the creation of modern
poetry. Some regarded themselves as the followers of Nima Youshij, but many, though inspired by his
innovations tried to find an independent path. Fereidoon Tavallali, for instance, remained very
restrained in his innovations, limiting them to a small variation of form. He usually divided his poems
into verses of four hemistiches, with the second and fourth hemistich of each verse having the same
rhymes. In his poetical outlook, Tavallali was deeply influenced by the lyric poets of the past. In fact
most of his poems are either expansions of the themes in single couplets of classical ghazals, or a
whole ghazal with a new rhyming pattern. Some of his greatest poems are those written in a
descriptive, in some cases a narrative form, recounting his own moods and feelings, or of his beloved

A story similar to Snow Falling on Cedars, called Divine Wind, is about a Japanese couple in
Australia. The story depicts a lifetime love story between two Japanese Australians, but the conflict of
war separates the two. This book not only shows what is was like to be a person of Japanese descent
during the war, but also how people would have treated you and acted towards you if you were
Japanese (Rosser). Today, the focus of racism and prejudice isn t so much on Japanese Americans, but
rather on some other minority races such as African Americans and Latinos. Prejudice among people
