I, Marilyn Dowling, am the vice president of the National Association Against Police Brutality. Which
is more commonly known as the NAAPB. We have been made aware of the incident between Mr.
Tony Roberts and Officer Blake Mattox. We would like to thank you for all of the footage that you
sent with your letter. It was very useful in helping us decide that Officer Mattox is guilty. We believe
this because of the video captured by Officer Mattox s body camera. From what we saw it is pointing
all of the blame to Mattox. A 911 dispatcher contacted Officer Mattox about a so called domestic
dispute. Mattox arrived and heard another officer claiming that shots have been fired. However, it was
the Fourth of July. With that being said, can you verify that the sound made was not an echo of a bottle
rocket? You also stated [Mattox] was attacked by [Roberts] conversely this is not what is shown on the
body camera video. According to the footage, he busted through Mr. Roberts door and proceeded to
attack him. It appeared that Mr. Roberts was attempting to lie on the floor, but before he could even

Racial Discrimination In African American History
It is normal for us to see people with different race around us now that do service and labor in America
, and they mostly don t get discriminated because of their race. However, there was a different story of
racial discrimination back in American history. Overtime there are many changes for racial
discrimination that has been made in the treatment of the people who build, serve, and protect our
country in different ways, those people are the African American and the Native Americans. One of
the most important group of people who are a big part of American history are African American.

Working Mothers Face A Whirlwind Of Responsibilities
Introduction Working mothers face a whirlwind of responsibilities. The working mother struggles
between both her family obligations along with her work obligations creating a constant clash between
which obligations are considered more important. A healthy balance between both spheres is hard to
develop without the help or give of the other. Work life balance or work family culture, as defined by
Chang, Chin and Ye is the, shared values and assumptions regarding the extent to which a company
supports the integration of employees work and family lives (2014). Work life balance and work
family culture are interchangeably used to demonstrate the same desired affect of balancing both
demanding obligations. Various studies have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Work family conflict or conflict due to work interfering with family is said to occur whenever work
responsibilities interfere with family demands (Fiksenbaum 2014). With the demands of the world
today, it is causing more of a blur between work time and family time. It is easier than ever for bosses
to communicate with their employees about work business after the employee has already left the
building, creating a constant conflict between family and work. Working mothers struggle between the
high demands of work as well as their family obligations and too few employers are taking notice.
Women will often decide to quit their jobs and become stay at home mothers because they feel they
are falling behind on their home responsibilities or they are burned out from trying to balance both of
their obligations. However, in order for employers to keep their high preforming employees several
have decided to investigate and create programs; through the use of job design and job analysis,
coupled with the help from their human resource personnel on how to create programs in order retain
top talent. Historically, employers would not even bother with such initiatives but they are finding
with retaining and keeping their top employees productivity continues to grow. Literature Review

Daft Punk Research Paper
The early days of EDM as concert attractions were off to an unsteady start with an audio/visual setup
consisting of little more than a few speakers and a film projector. Although, the shows changed and
matured with the genre, many point to Daft Punk s first appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and
Arts festival in Indio, California, in 2006 where the duo unveiled their now legendary pyramid as a
game changer. Manning a 24 foot tall aluminum pyramid of custom built supercomputers covered
with screens, Daft Punk created what many believe to be the best electronic show ever assembled, a
veritable LED infused honeycomb pulsing with music and purpose. The idea for the pyramid stage
setup came from Daft Punk s 2005 video for Technologic, which featured a little robot who chants the
song s lyrics which flash on a television monitor while sitting in a little red pyramid on a pyramid
themed stage where Bangalter and de Homem Christo are playing base guitars. The two thought it
would be funny to be perched in a larger pyramid in a crazy, tricked out show while trying to bring a
completely new and global experience to the audience. It was with that mindset that Daft Punk began
the Coachella show fittingly with the distinctive five note ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jude the Obscure and Social Darwinism Essay
Jude the Obscure and Social Darwinism
Jude the Obscure is indeed a lesson in cruelty and despair; the inevitable by products of Social
Darwinism. The main characters of the book are controlled by fate s compelling arm of extraordinary
muscular power (1), weakly resisting the influence of their own sexuality, and of society and nature
around them.
Jude s world is one in which only the fittest survive, and he is clearly not equipped to number amongst
the fittest. In keeping with the strong Darwinian undercurrents that run through the book, a kind of
natural selection ensures that Jude s offspring do not survive to procreate either. Their death by murder
and suicide is but one of many grisly instances of cruelty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not like our poor boy here. (3)
Although the Widow Edlin s words refer to Jude s physical status, Hardy is also using them to
comment on Jude as a societal and intellectual being. On that level too, he was clearly not fit enough
to emerge triumphantly from the struggles of Darwinian society.
If Hardy s message is that only the fittest can escape nature and society s cruelties, then one must ask,
which of the characters in the novel is most successful in the competitive atmosphere? Phillotson
certainly achieves some measure of professional success as a schoolmaster, but like Jude, he too was
unable to break into the echelons of university academia. Furthermore, despite marrying Sue, his
union with her was less than successful. One gets the sense that in his one sided love for Sue,
Phillotson was swept along powerlessly by the tides of his own sexuality just as Jude was. Rather than
pro actively seeking to cultivate Sue s love for him or to gain some form of self determination, he
chose to remain meek and impassive, very much allowing Sue to determine the course that his life
with her would take, if it was to be with her at all.
Is Sue then the prime candidate for social fitness in the work? Sue herself fought against the

Frankenstein
Within the first few years of life, babies gain a sense of self awareness. They start to realize that they
are different from the objects and people around them physically. There are many ways that people
can feel a sense of self identity or association within a group. People could identify themselves as
something small, like the town they are from or the school they attend. Or they could identify as a
bigger group of people like their religious beliefs and nationality. This paper will look at Frankenstein
as a Bildungsroman and the way that people in Europe during the nineteenth century could gain
knowledge and a view of self awareness and how people gain knowledge today. One thing that is
fascinating is that the nameless monster in the book is actually the Frankenstein that people tend to
think of, with the big square green head, whereas, his creator s last name is actually Frankenstein. This
is important because as the book progresses, the reader gets a sense that maybe the monster and his
creator, are not so different after all. Although Victor (the creator) was born with a family and has
friends, he distances himself from them when he finds his love for science. They also both try to help
humanity at first but then they both feel depressed and remorse from the recent past. They also both
use the weather and nature to indicate their mood and feelings. When it is nice outside he is hopeful

A Near-Death Experience Near Death
Is there a plausibility that beyond death, life exists? A minority of people deem the possibility there is
life beyond death, for they experienced near death. An individual who is considered clinically dead
and resuscitated to entail the experience of near death (Roe). However, death isn t simple, there isn t a
precise definition for it. The view of death challenged due to medical advances in technology. In
modern times, death thought to occur when one s vital functions, the lungs, the heart, blood flow, and
brain activity ceases (Death and Dying: Becker). Nevertheless, medical advances in technology can
continuously sustain a person s life through mechanical means, maintaining respiration, and cardiac
functions (Death and Dying). According to Carl Becker death occurs when the central brain functions
are unrestorable. How are near death experiences defined?

Convention. The Articles of Confederation helped pave the way to a better, more stable

Carrie The Musical Analysis
On the evening of July 27th, I attended a production of Carrie: The Musical based on the novel Carrie
by Stephen King. The musical was performed by Near West Theater in Cleveland and directed by
Devon Turchan. The main character who name is Carrie White is an outcast through the entire play
and her entire life you learn this when the other students talk about past experiences with Carrie. The
main antagonist in the play is her very own mother Margaret White. Ms.White is a very religious
woman that wants to protect Carrie from the dangers in the world and even herself, very
overprotective women and to what I believe very crazy. The plot is brought to life by supporting
characters/actors in the play who names are Sue Nell, Tommy Ross, Chris Hargensen, Billy Nolan,
Miss Gardner. The actions of all these people building up and resting on carrier shoulders throughout
the play cause her to find out she has powers. The end of Act II is when everything comes together
Carrie who was invited to the prom by Tommy Ross in a generous gesture that was purposed by Sue
Nell. The prom was going very well and Carrie was becoming carefree and was seeing everything she
missed out on. Things took things for the worse when Chris and Tommy pour pigs blood on her when
she won prom queen. Carrie took all the frustration and years of bullying and the powers she found
out about she burned everyone alive at the prom. When she got home she was covered in blood and

The term socio analysis is a term that is used to describe the way sociologists analyzes certain traits

Captain Beatty Character Analysis
Anyone who has read the book Fahrenheit 451 will immediately remember the infamous Captain
Beatty. For people who have not read the book, or do not remember Captain Beatty, he is the fire chief
who has a very controversial role in the book. He starts out looking like the antagonist of the story but
then towards the end of the book one could wonder if he was the alter ego of Montag, for example, he
shows the other way the story of Montag could have gone instead of him ending up with Granger s
group helping re educate the world one book at a time.
In the beginning, Beatty seems like the typical fireman in that time, against books, seems to have

The exact quote Beatty says There is no terror, Cassius, in your threats, for I am arm d so strong in
honesty that they pass me as an idle wind, which I respect not! (119) This shows that even Beatty was
reading books for quite some time. This is where the similarity between Montag and Beatty ends, and
where their stories take different routes. At this point, Montag stood up for what he believed in and
risked his life. This could have gone another way, Beatty s way, Montag could have sucked it up and
stayed a fireman and lived a lie like Beatty had.
Shortly after that quote, Montag realized that Beatty wanted to die, on page 122, and he was
wondering why. In class, we think that Beatty wanted to die because he did not want to have to carry
the burden of reading when it is against the law or without being able to share it with everyone and he
thought that the only way for him to get rid of that burden was to die. Montag could have thought that
and committed suicide like Beatty did but since we established Beatty was Montag s alter ego he did
not do that and he went to find Granger s group instead.
In conclusion, Beatty can be depicted as both an antagonist and as Montag s alter ego/ other half
because he was living a very similar life to Montag such as being a fire chief, reading books, being
bombarded with questions etc, until he took a different road at the end, which seemed like a safer road
because he still had his job and a good

Dance In Swan Lake Interpretation
Watching Silja Schandorff s fully realized performance in Swan Lake teaches much about what it

dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet and one of the originators of the role when it was created on the
Danes in 1996, replaced Miranda Weese in the dual role of Odette and Odile. I ve now seen four
women in these roles (Meunier, Weese, Whelan and Schandorff) and there s no question that
Schandorff was the best prepared, even with having to fly trans Atlantic and with perhaps a day s
rehearsal with her partner. She s now done the role for three years, but even more importantly, the
thought that struck one like a thunderbolt on even her first entrance was My God! She s actually been
*coached*! There was never a single moment Schandorff seemed left to her own devices. It didn t
look fey, or artificial and overcoached, it just didn t look thoughtless. It s not even a matter of her arms
and legs being in the right position (they were, always.) She knew who she was, whether Odette or
Odile. She knew who Siegfried was. She always knew why she danced. She knew when she was
swearing her love, when she was saying no , when she was leaving him forever. I m not trying to
denigrate Schandorff by emphasizing how much it seems she had help. She also very obviously has
excellent instincts and facility and can act. But in a full length narrative ballet like Swan Lake,
instincts are not enough,

Analysis Of Hypertext Transfer Protocol, Http
Hypertext Transfer Protocol, HTTP, is a primary standard which lays the foundation for which the
World Wide Web is built upon. HTTP s main purpose is to receive requests for and deliver content on
the Web. The Internet Engineering Task Force s, IETF, Request for Comments, RFC, 7230 describes
HTTP as .. a stateless application level protocol for distributed, collaborative, hypertext information
systems. (IETF 14). Overall it is essentially the main way of distributing web pages and is what the
http in the url of links stands for. HTTP s development began back in 1989 by a CERN, European
Nuclear Research Organization, known as Tim Berners Lee. Tim and his team had been developing a
new markup language known as HTML, another protocol that ... Show more content on

The protocol may be used for other applications as long as it is supported by both the client and server.
Typical connections work in a response / response format, where a client requests content from the
server and the server responds. For example you may type http://www.google.com/ and request a
webpage from the location google.com from a web server. The web server will see the request and
check to see if it has a webpage for that location and then send you a request with either the content
requests or an error code that let s you know that it does not have what you have asked for. To the
untrained eye, HTTP syntax may look rather complicated, but it is actually simple. There is a series of
request messages and response messages between the server and client where request methods are sent
and status codes are returned. A typical exchange has a client send a get method requesting content,
specifying the location, and stating which version HTTP the client is supporting. The response from
the server will return with what HTTP the server supports and a response code, which depends on
where the request is reasonable, or in other words if it has the content the client requests. A rough
example of this exchange is provided by the textbook, High Performance Browser Networking:

Health Insurance System
In the United States, there are three basic systems in which healthcare are financed: private insurance,
public insurance, and uninsured. Within private and public insurance, there are several different types
of plans that assist in financing health care. Private health insurance utilizes various healthcare
providers to provide cost sharing in receiving healthcare services through benefits provided by
employers or for premiums (Shi Singh, 2015). Some examples of healthcare providers are commercial
insurance companies, self insured businesses, and managed care organizations (Shi Singh, 2015).

This type of insurance is financed through governmental entities for the elderly, disabled individuals,

to pay a co payment dependent on the program and the financial abilities of the individual or family

their families or veterans and their families with health insurance plans for health care services at a

characteristics of a male, she was indeed a feminist in Willa Cather s novel O Pioneers! In the
introduction of the novel, an argument arises due to the differences of O Pioneers! in contrast to some
of Cather s other pieces as well as several other novels of that time period. Marilee Lindemann
references that law and custom in most (if not all) Western countries severely limited what are girl

At this point, Alexandra had spent numerous days and nights alone, those days when she only had her
little brother, Emil, to accompany her; however, he eventually went off to school and to pursue his
own career. As a result, Alexandra was left to confide in her neighbor Marie who didn t quite
understand her, herself, and her dreams.
Throughout Alexandra s childhood, she often dreamed of pleasures from a man, certainly, who carried
her, but he was like no man she knew... (p.112) and these fancies continued as she grew older. She
often slept in on Sunday mornings and during her lengthy sleep hours she accidentally fancied about a
man whom she knew nothing about. These dreams appeared during times when she found herself the
most fatigued from the unbearable work on the divide; we grow hard and heavy here (p.69).
Surprisingly, Alexandra became disappointed with herself after the epiphany elapsed. She would rise
hastily, angry with herself, and go down to the bath house... (p.112) to cleanse her body. As
incorporated in the novel, these feelings expressed more characteristics of Alexandra s feminism as
she daydreamed about a man in her life. However, little did she know that her dreams would soon
become a reality.
During times when the Divide experienced famine, most of its residents sold their property and
migrated to other, more profitable lands. Among those who

Essential Care Needs in Nursing and Midwifery
Essential care needs present specific requirements for an individual s survival. The Nursing and
Midwifery Council (2010), suggest nurses should be able to consider patient s essential care needs and
aid them with these needs when patients are not able to help themselves. Allowing nurses to make the
patient feel comfortable, during periods when they may be undergoing distress or discomfort. Nurses
have to deliver essential care such as making sure patients are eating sufficient amounts of food,
keeping hydrated and assisting with hygiene needs. Arnett (2013) emphasises care needs are unique to
each individual and vital for preserving patients health and well being. This links into Roper Logan
Tierney (1999) model of activities of daily living identifying 16 activities essential to maintaining
human life, including: eating and mobilising. Fulfilment and maintenance of these 16 activities
indicate an individual is healthy and gives a focus for nurses to deliver targeted patient centred care.
This is emphasised in Essence of Care (Department of Health, 2010) which reaffirms meeting
essential needs of patients is the main focus point of nursing in contemporary practice. The Essence of
Care is made up of 12 categories which health care professionals focus on in order to provide
thorough patient centred care. These categories include: bladder, bowel, continence care and personal
hygiene. Kitson et al (2013) identified the nurse s role as being one of promoting good patient

Advantages Of Prep School
A prep school is a place for students to learn, grow, and practice skills that will help them be
successful later in life. They offer different possibilities for students, that other schools often cannot or
do not have available. While public schools are where the majority of students go, due to a variety of
factors, prep schools are frequently more beneficial than public schools. Prep schools have better
facilities and higher success rates, and are therefore superior to public schools, despite what Holden
experiences. A prep school is a school that offers a higher set of learning to its students, through
various advantages. They only accept the best of the best students, which is one of the reasons that so
many of their students go on to attend prestigious colleges as well (College Admission from Prep
Schools | Ivy Coach Admissions Blog). These schools are known for offering diverse academic
programming led by teacher scholars, many of whom hold advanced degrees in their subject areas
(The 50 Best Boarding Schools in the U.S). Holden Caulfield in the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D.
Salinger attended prep school, and although he disliked it immensely, he still formed a close
relationship with one teacher in particular. That teacher, Mr. Antolini offers Holden a place to stay
when he needs it, which shows the kind of bond formed between teacher and student at a prep school,
compared to a public school. Shamus Raham Khan says small classes and individualized attention

Mary Rowlandson Book Report
From June 1675 to April 1678, there was a war between New England and English colonists called
King Philip s war. During the King Philip s war, the Massachusetts Bay Colony was attacked by
Native Indians and some people were captured by native Indians for 11 weeks and 5 days. Mary
(White) Rowlandson was a colonial America woman who was captured after that attack. After she was
released, she recorded her experience during the time being captured by writing a book called A
Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson which also known as The
Sovereignty and Goodness of God. This book was written from the personal experience of Mary,

Mary Rowlandson, the hero Mary Rowlandson really suffered a difficult time from the attack and
during the captivity, but she did get rid of these awful experiences. Through the book, the Bible she
gained due to the marriage encourages her a lot. In her opinion, all the things she experienced was led
by god, because the god wanted her to experience those things to let her learn a class that she had to
protect herself. During the time been captured and did not been released, she even thought that she
was not released because she had not learn the class sufficiently and need to experience difficulties

opinions, like the part that god led her, are too personal. In the book she also expressed that she did
not understand Indians behavior, but she acted like Indians in some aspects after she lived with
Indians for several weeks. In her opinion, Indians were always savage and away from civilization.
However, some Indians did wear colonists clothes and even did pray and claimed that they became

Adverse Effects of Oppressive Dystopias A genuine identity and individuality is not possible in an
oppressive environment especially when one s daily life, actions, and thoughts are dictated by
domineering societal expectations. Oppressive environments such as regimes controlled by a
dictatorship and that run off a totalitarian government system strip an individual of their civil rights as
a human being in order to gain ultimate control over its citizens. A government such as the Republic of
Gilead in Margaret Atwood s work, The Handmaid s Tale, controls their citizen s lives to the extent to

This is exemplified when Offred hears Aunt Lydia say, Ordinary is what you are used to. This may not
seem ordinary to you now, but after a time it will. It will become ordinary (Atwood 33). The repetition
of ordinary is used to reinforce how harsh realities (e.g. public execution) are perceived and justified
as normal by the citizens of Gilead; however, in Offred s previous life, she would have been repulsed
to see a public hanging of an innocent person. With Aunt Lydia s presence and words casting a shadow
in Offred s mind, she begins to have a sense of normalcy about life in Gilead. The Aunt Lydia s words
are so powerful and influential that Offred begins to transform her way of thinking, which mirrors the
lack of individuality that she displays. Not only can Offred not think for herself, but her vision is also
controlled by Gilead. For instance, Offred and other handmaids must wear white wings, which are a
headdress to restrict their vision. This is shown when Atwood writes, There remains a mirror, on the
hall wall. If I turn my head so that the white wings framing my face direct my vision towards it...[I
see] myself in it like a distorted shadow (9). The white wings are symbolic of her not being able to see
reality and only what Gilead wants her to see; therefore, her vision is restricted and so are her
thoughts. Furthermore, her vision is not

Victims Of Ignorance In Charles Bukowski s Post Office
Despite his later riches from his book Post Office, Charles Bukowski was a victim of neglect as a
child and often seemed to have trouble with women (Malone, 5 7). In his book Post Office, he
portrayed women as ignorant, without morals, and only having worth based on their sexual
abilities/sexual attraction. In Post Office, G.G. , a character portrayed as a kind old man is accused of
molesting a child by the child s mother. In this instance, the mother is depicted as ignorant. Not only
does she fail to initially see that G.G. gives candy to all children on his route, but she is shown as too
dense to understand this when the post office boss tries to explain it to her. Instead, she is shown to be
only thinking of sex and her only asset is her pussie . This is explicitly noted when Chinaski tells his
colleague that the woman got a dirty mind. Half of the mothers in America, with their precious
pussies...have dirty minds. Tell her to shove it (Bukowski, 44). The use of course and hostile language
that includes sexual innuendos suggest that women are only for sex, naturally are negative thinking
the worse, and are not intelligence. Throughout the book, the author refers to women as bitches ,

analyze the static electricity, electrical charge, charge grounding, inducing charge, and electric
polarization. We used two wands that created positive and negative charges when rubbed together one

When we used both wands, the electrometer almost read zero volts throughout the duration of the
experiment. This proves that the negativity of the particles on the blue wand were equal to the positive
charge of the particles on the white wand; so it cancelled each other out. While using the both wands
we encountered an error. The voltage should have been zero when the wands was out the pail and not
touching the pail; however the electrometer reading was 3 volt. This is most likely due to a random
error in measurement due to a faulty electrometer or pail. The electrometer may have not been
sensitive enough to pick up all the charged particles when the wands were not out the pail we should
have repeated this so we can get accurate readings. Voltage/ Distance 60 cm (Second Sphere

Back (far) 0.6 Volts 0.6 Volts 0.6 Volts Left 0.6 Volts 0.6 Volts 1.2 Volts Right 0.6 Volts 0.6 Volts 0.3
Volts In part two of this experiment, we set up two conductive spheres 30 cm apart from each other.
We applied 2000 volts to one of the spheres. We grounded the aluminum wand placed it tangent to the
charged sphere to collect particles. The wand was then placed into the pail without contact and record
a positive charge of 0.6 Volts. This lets us know that the electric field has a radius of at least 30 cm.
We repeated these steps with 2 cm distance

Analysis Of The Garden Of Earthly Delights
Art is all around us and whether we notice it or not we are always evaluating, deconstructing, and
deciding on if we like it or not. The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch is a triptych
done in the Renaissance period. A triptych is a painting or relief carving that has three different panels
and are hinged together side by side. I first came across this painting in my art history class in high
school and from then on I loved it due to all the imagery, colors, and the overall meaning that it had.
Ever since then this artwork has left a big imprint and got me to think about art as much more than a
picture, but to look at it as a whole and analyze it. This painting always seemed interesting and
intriguing for a couple of reasons. There are many themes going on, the colors are very monochrome
but yet look vivid and life like, and it has a very deep meaning with the themes of mortality, sin, and
shows the end results for evil doings. The triptych has three different panels and all three have their
own story to tell. When the triptych is closed and both left and right sections are shut you see the
world in tones of gray or neutral colors. At the uppermost left corner of the closed sections you can
see a depiction of God looking down at the world with an open book in his hands. The first one on the
left tells the story of how God introduced Adam to Eve. They are shown to be in a beautiful and
surreal looking location which is thought to be paradise. Adam, Eve, and God

Quite often Death is portrayed and perceived as dark, ominous, dangerous, and foreboding just to
name a few. In this particular drama, death does play a serious role and does possess some of the
above mentioned characteristics, but not the stereotypical role associated by many with death; here
Death is cast as an obvious servant of God, not the typical servant of evil. Certain uncommon qualities
are given to Death in this play as well; Death clearly demonstrates fairness and mercy in his allowance
of Everyman to take a companion with him to the grave. Ron Tanner, writing in the Philological
Quarterly, illustrates another, borderline, humorous quality in Everyman, specifically Everyman s
negotiation with Death:
What makes the exchange between Death and Everyman humorous is Everyman s attempts at
negotiation. First he asks for an extension of time, then he tries to bribe Death...it is ridiculous to
attempt such bargains. This is the end, after all. Now, gentle Death, says Everyman, still hoping to slip
away, spare me till tomorrow. The humor here is that Death is anything but gentle or noble: one has
only to imagine the ghastly figure of death looming over the now flattering Everyman to appreciate
the irony. Everyman s words are doubly ironic since his request for respite has dwindled from twelve
years to only one day. (Tanner 1991)

The Pros And Cons Of The Workplace Relations Act
The former procedures for seeking redress in workplace conflicts were long, expensive and rather
frustrating. One had to seek redress with multiple Courts arising from the same set of facts and the
appeal system was equally as frustrating. Therefore, the Workplace Relations Act 2015 has been a
welcome development albeit with its advantages and disadvantages and the process has been
shortened and simplified to make it less expensive for both sides to pursue. Multiple claims no longer
have to go to different Courts for redress as all employment rights disputes will go straight to the
Workplace Relations Commission based on the same set of facts and in the event that mediation fails,
the matter is dealt with by an Adjudication Officer. Sending ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Fever 1793 Compared To Modern Times
Time Period in Fever 1793 Compared to Modern Times Fever 1793 is a historical fiction novel written
by Laurie Halse Anderson that describes how Yellow Fever affected lives of everybody during the
three months of sickness and panic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Life today is more straightforward
than it was in 1793 because of the technology. Fever 1793 is a story about a young girl, Matilda Mattie
Cook, who faces challenges surviving in a Yellow Fever struck city (Philadelphia). Mattie loses her
grandfather on her journey of survival and her mother is nowhere to be seen, leaving Mattie to grow

This is because the female Emperor desires a partner who is able to survive throughout the
unfavourable environment during the long fasting period whilst incubating the egg produced by the

eggs as well as caring for the chicks once they re hatched while the female hunts for food. So, while
the female returns to sea in order to forage food, the male is left to fend for him and his egg and

Essay An Analysis of Ethical Dilemma of International...
Adoption boundaries have steadily extended since the World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War,
where many children became orphans. As a response to them winners, especially Americans, started to
adopt children from the war torn countries (Wilkinson 1995, 174). Thus, it was a start point for
international adoption. Intercountry (international or transnational) adoption is defined as adoption,
where child is removed to the adoptees country. In recent times motives to adopt internationally are
explained as charity of wealthier and more developed nations, a wish to help countries, which are
fighting with economic problems, and also insufficient numbers of babies within the country. The rate
of international adoption increased dramatically, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In past years a rate of international adoption increased by approximately 16% from 1998 to 2007
(Selman 2009, 576). Figure 1 shows the rate of international adoption increased dramatically from
approximately 32000 to 45000 children in 1998 2004 years; then it has started to decrease. Such big
numbers in the rate of international adoption and popularity of it raises more and more positive and
negative concerns. The whole society started to pay more attention to it, asking questions and raising
ethical dilemma of international adoption. The importance of this topic is significant, since children
should be considered as the most precious parts of every nation. Country s well being includes not
only economic stability and military force, but children s happiness as well. Especially the future and
happiness of abandoned children depends on international adoption. Accordingly, taking into account
rate of intercountry adoption and its current problems the topic is relevant nowadays. Figure 1: Trends
in intercountry adoptions to 23 receiving countries; top five receiving countries; USA and Europe,
1998 2007
(Selman 2009, 578)
The first argument against international adoption is that it is a way to traffic children. The procedure
of international adoption includes adoption fees, which are often in average ten thousand dollars;

Summary Of The Ghost
Chapter 1 Introduction About Ghost writing
The Ghost, Robert Harris s first sat nav (blend of satellite and navigation) novel was published on
26th September, 2007. It is a contemporary political thriller containing power, politics, corruption
and murder. It also highlights the problem which are involved in the art of ghost writing .
Ghostwriting is the act of writing books or other pieces such as a speech, book , article ,
autobiography and various other literary work in which another author s recieves full credit. Often
these authors are celebrity, politicians or other popular figures who can sell books but cannot write.
Autobiographical writing is the written account of one s life which is written by the same person.
On the other hand, Ghostwriting consists of written accounts of another person s life; mostly famous
personalities, whose autobiographies, memoirs or written speeches are written by the ghostwriter.
As the name suggest, the ghostwriters name is never mentioned in his or her literary work therefore
they are always away from limelight. Though many miss the attention, the recognition and the
authority of having their own name on the writing but most of the ghostwriters have fierce level of
pride. Its either the income or the independence, its hard to decide. The thin line between these two
literature writing is very fine.
The Ghostwriting involves, interviews, meeting various people and getting to know in depth of their

Analysis of Shakespeare s Loves Labours Lost
Shakespeare s story, Love Labour s Lost, focuses the story on the endearing lust of men. Women are a
powerful force, so in order to persuade them men will try to use a variety of different resources in
order to attract the opposite sex. Men will often use their primal instincts like a mating call, which
could equivocate today to whistling at a woman as she walks by. With the use of lies to tell a girl what
she wants to hear, the musk cologne in order to make you appear more sensual, or the cliché use of the
love poem, men strive to appeal to women with the intent to see his way into her heart. William
Shakespeare is a man, who based on some of his other works, has a pretty good understand and is full
of passion for the opposite sex. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new oaths have been laid out keeping all the men s separate nature in mind. King Ferdinand is to
spend the year in a hermitage. Berowne, who has always been quick to engage in jest and laugh at
others, must make the rounds of hospitals, there he is meant to promote the patients to laugh. Dumain
and Longaville must spend the year tempering their characters, to work on becoming more thoughtful
and mature. Don Adriano de Armado makes a promise of his own, telling King Ferdinand, I have
vowed to Jaquenetta to hold the plough for her sweet love three years. Holofernes, Sir Nathaniel,
Costard, and the other actors from the pageant then present a song about spring and winter. Don
Adriano speaks the last line of the play, You that way we this way as both the men and women depart.
The Lost in the title accurately describes the fact that the men gained nothing through their oath both
to their king, and to the women to whom they professed their love. It shows that no matter how hard
one tries, love is powerful and often more important and more respect gaining than remaining true to
ones word. As ironic as the story ends, the men all break their oath captured under the spell that
women often times cast on men. Yet in order to truly

Mission Control Diary
I performed the initial check on the rocket s systems. All the lights went green, the rocket was ready
and I radioed into Mission Control. Everything s good to go. Give us the countdown when you re
ready. I looked over to Logan and Trevor, who were seated a few feet away and said, I can t believe
this is finally happening! Logan was a thin man with blonde hair. He was the smartest out of all of us.
Trevor was tall and also had blonde hair. I was tall and I had brown hair and brown eyes.
Yep, ever since we went to JPL in highschool, I knew I wanted to go to Mars, Trevor said as he
buckled his safety harness. Trevor had a grin on his face that said more than his words ever could.

That weapon is super big! Doubt it d just shoot at us, it d destroy us. Besides, I can t run, my likes are
like freaking jelly! Trevor replied melancholically.
Mission Control...ARE YOU SEEING THIS? My voice cracked over the microphone.
We have detected a large energy source in your sector. Can you confirm? Mission Control inquired
smoothly.
Can can we confirm? WE ARE STARING DOWN THE BARREL OF A SPACE LASER! Logan
howled as he played through what he predicted would happen. We are going to die, he thought. We are
donezo!
Mission Control, with a slight hint of urgency in their voice, said, We, uh, we are not positive on what

We could only watch as a huge laser destroyed the Earth. Everything we had ever known was gone in
an instant. Mission Control, everyone working there, deceased. How could we move on? There was
nothing left of Earth but the despair in our hearts. We only had memories to look back at.
Sooo, uh, should we be glad that it was not us to die? Or is that not a nice point of view? Trevor
sighed. We never imagined this could happen, it was just us three and whatever aliens were still

We have been made aware of the incident between Mr. Tony Roberts and Officer Blake Mattox. We would like to thank you for all of the footage that you sent with your letter. It was very useful in helping us decide that Officer Mattox is guilty. We believe this because of the video captured by Officer Mattox s body camera. From what we saw it is pointing all of the blame to Mattox. A 911 dispatcher contacted Officer Mattox about a so called domestic dispute. Mattox arrived and heard another officer claiming that shots have been fired. However, it was the Fourth of July. With that being said, can you verify that the sound made was not an echo of a bottle rocket? You also stated [Mattox] was attacked by [Roberts] conversely this is not what is shown on the body camera video. Work life balance or work family culture, as defined by Chang, Chin and Ye is the, shared values and assumptions regarding the extent to which a company supports the integration of employees work and family lives (2014). Work family conflict or conflict due to work interfering with family is said to occur whenever work responsibilities interfere with family demands (Fiksenbaum 2014). With the demands of the world today, it is causing more of a blur between work time and family time. It is easier than ever for bosses to communicate with their employees about work business after the employee has already left the building, creating a constant conflict between family and work. Working mothers struggle between the high demands of work as well as their family obligations and too few employers are taking notice. Women will often decide to quit their jobs and become stay at home mothers because they feel they are falling behind on their home responsibilities or they are burned out from trying to balance both of their obligations. However, in order for employers to keep their high preforming employees several have decided to investigate and create programs; through the use of job design and job analysis, coupled with the help from their human resource personnel on how to create programs in order retain top talent. Daft Punk Research Paper The early days of EDM as concert attractions were off to an unsteady start with an audio/visual setup consisting of little more than a few speakers and a film projector. Although, the shows changed and matured with the genre, many point to Daft Punk s first appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in Indio, California, in 2006 where the duo unveiled their now legendary pyramid as a game changer. Manning a 24 foot tall aluminum pyramid of custom built supercomputers covered with screens, Daft Punk created what many believe to be the best electronic show ever assembled, a veritable LED infused honeycomb pulsing with music and purpose. The idea for the pyramid stage setup came from Daft Punk s 2005 video for Technologic, which featured a little robot who chants the song s lyrics which flash on a television monitor while sitting in a little red pyramid on a pyramid themed stage where Bangalter and de Homem Christo are playing base guitars. The main characters of the book are controlled by fate s compelling arm of extraordinary muscular power (1), weakly resisting the influence of their own sexuality, and of society and nature around them. Jude s world is one in which only the fittest survive, and he is clearly not equipped to number amongst the fittest. If Hardy s message is that only the fittest can escape nature and society s cruelties, then one must ask, which of the characters in the novel is most successful in the competitive atmosphere? Phillotson certainly achieves some measure of professional success as a schoolmaster, but like Jude, he too was unable to break into the echelons of university academia. Frankenstein As A Bildungsroman And The Way That People Greg Repa Dr. Arpaia History 307 12 September 2015 Frankenstein Within the first few years of life, babies gain a sense of self awareness. They start to realize that they are different from the objects and people around them physically. There are many ways that people can feel a sense of self identity or association within a group. People could identify themselves as something small, like the town they are from or the school they attend. Or they could identify as a bigger group of people like their religious beliefs and nationality. This paper will look at Frankenstein as a Bildungsroman and the way that people in Europe during the nineteenth century could gain knowledge and a view of self awareness and how people gain knowledge today. One thing that is fascinating is that the nameless monster in the book is actually the Frankenstein that people tend to think of, with the big square green head, whereas, his creator s last name is actually Frankenstein. This is important because as the book progresses, the reader gets a sense that maybe the monster and his creator, are not so different after all. Although Victor (the creator) was born with a family and has friends, he distances himself from them when he finds his love for science. There was never a single moment Schandorff seemed left to her own devices. It didn t look fey, or artificial and overcoached, it just didn t look thoughtless. It s not even a matter of her arms and legs being in the right position (they were, always.) She knew who she was, whether Odette or Odile. She knew who Siegfried was. She always knew why she danced. She knew when she was swearing her love, when she was saying no , when she was leaving him forever. I m not trying to denigrate Schandorff by emphasizing how much it seems she had help. Throughout Alexandra s childhood, she often dreamed of pleasures from a man, certainly, who carried her, but he was like no man she knew... (p.112) and these fancies continued as she grew older. She often slept in on Sunday mornings and during her lengthy sleep hours she accidentally fancied about a man whom she knew nothing about. These dreams appeared during times when she found herself the most fatigued from the unbearable work on the divide; we grow hard and heavy here (p.69). Surprisingly, Alexandra became disappointed with herself after the epiphany elapsed. She would rise hastily, angry with herself, and go down to the bath house... (p.112) to cleanse her body. As incorporated in the novel, these feelings expressed more characteristics of Alexandra s feminism as she daydreamed about a man in her life. However, little did she know that her dreams would soon become a reality. During times when the Divide experienced famine, most of its residents sold their property and migrated to other, more profitable lands. Among those who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Essential Care Needs in Nursing and Midwifery Essential care needs present specific requirements for an individual s survival. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (2010), suggest nurses should be able to consider patient s essential care needs and aid them with these needs when patients are not able to help themselves. Allowing nurses to make the patient feel comfortable, during periods when they may be undergoing distress or discomfort. Nurses have to deliver essential care such as making sure patients are eating sufficient amounts of food, keeping hydrated and assisting with hygiene needs. Arnett (2013) emphasises care needs are unique to each individual and vital for preserving patients health and well being. This links into Roper Logan Tierney (1999) model of activities of daily living identifying 16 activities essential to maintaining human life, including: eating and mobilising. Fulfilment and maintenance of these 16 activities indicate an individual is healthy and gives a focus for nurses to deliver targeted patient centred care. This is emphasised in Essence of Care (Department of Health, 2010) which reaffirms meeting essential needs of patients is the main focus point of nursing in contemporary practice. The Essence of Care is made up of 12 categories which health care professionals focus on in order to provide thorough patient centred care. These categories include: bladder, bowel, continence care and personal hygiene. Kitson et al (2013) identified the nurse s role as being one of promoting good patient ... • 24. Advantages Of Prep School A prep school is a place for students to learn, grow, and practice skills that will help them be successful later in life. They offer different possibilities for students, that other schools often cannot or do not have available. While public schools are where the majority of students go, due to a variety of factors, prep schools are frequently more beneficial than public schools. Prep schools have better facilities and higher success rates, and are therefore superior to public schools, despite what Holden experiences. A prep school is a school that offers a higher set of learning to its students, through various advantages. They only accept the best of the best students, which is one of the reasons that so many of their students go on to attend prestigious colleges as well (College Admission from Prep Schools | Ivy Coach Admissions Blog). These schools are known for offering diverse academic programming led by teacher scholars, many of whom hold advanced degrees in their subject areas (The 50 Best Boarding Schools in the U.S). Holden Caulfield in the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger attended prep school, and although he disliked it immensely, he still formed a close relationship with one teacher in particular. That teacher, Mr. Antolini offers Holden a place to stay when he needs it, which shows the kind of bond formed between teacher and student at a prep school, compared to a public school. Literary Analysis of the Handmaids Tale Erica Clark Professor Kachman WR 121 20 February 2013 Adverse Effects of Oppressive Dystopias A genuine identity and individuality is not possible in an oppressive environment especially when one s daily life, actions, and thoughts are dictated by domineering societal expectations. Oppressive environments such as regimes controlled by a dictatorship and that run off a totalitarian government system strip an individual of their civil rights as a human being in order to gain ultimate control over its citizens. This may not seem ordinary to you now, but after a time it will. It will become ordinary (Atwood 33). The repetition of ordinary is used to reinforce how harsh realities (e.g. public execution) are perceived and justified as normal by the citizens of Gilead; however, in Offred s previous life, she would have been repulsed to see a public hanging of an innocent person. With Aunt Lydia s presence and words casting a shadow in Offred s mind, she begins to have a sense of normalcy about life in Gilead. The Aunt Lydia s words are so powerful and influential that Offred begins to transform her way of thinking, which mirrors the lack of individuality that she displays. Not only can Offred not think for herself, but her vision is also controlled by Gilead. For instance, Offred and other handmaids must wear white wings, which are a headdress to restrict their vision. This is shown when Atwood writes, There remains a mirror, on the hall wall. If I turn my head so that the white wings framing my face direct my vision towards it...[I see] myself in it like a distorted shadow (9). The white wings are symbolic of her not being able to see reality and only what Gilead wants her to see; therefore, her vision is restricted and so are her thoughts. Victims Of Ignorance In Charles Bukowski s Post Office Despite his later riches from his book Post Office, Charles Bukowski was a victim of neglect as a child and often seemed to have trouble with women (Malone, 5 7). In his book Post Office, he portrayed women as ignorant, without morals, and only having worth based on their sexual abilities/sexual attraction. In Post Office, G.G. , a character portrayed as a kind old man is accused of molesting a child by the child s mother. In this instance, the mother is depicted as ignorant. Not only does she fail to initially see that G.G. gives candy to all children on his route, but she is shown as too dense to understand this when the post office boss tries to explain it to her. Instead, she is shown to be only thinking of sex and her only asset is her pussie . This is explicitly noted when Chinaski tells his colleague that the woman got a dirty mind. Half of the mothers in America, with their precious pussies...have dirty minds. Tell her to shove it (Bukowski, 44). We used two wands that created positive and negative charges when rubbed together one is blue and the other is white. When we used both wands, the electrometer almost read zero volts throughout the duration of the experiment. This proves that the negativity of the particles on the blue wand were equal to the positive charge of the particles on the white wand; so it cancelled each other out. While using the both wands we encountered an error. The voltage should have been zero when the wands was out the pail and not touching the pail; however the electrometer reading was 3 volt. This is most likely due to a random error in measurement due to a faulty electrometer or pail. The electrometer may have not been sensitive enough to pick up all the charged particles when the wands were not out the pail we should have repeated this so we can get accurate readings. We applied 2000 volts to one of the spheres. We grounded the aluminum wand placed it tangent to the charged sphere to collect particles. The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch is a triptych done in the Renaissance period. A triptych is a painting or relief carving that has three different panels and are hinged together side by side. I first came across this painting in my art history class in high school and from then on I loved it due to all the imagery, colors, and the overall meaning that it had. Ever since then this artwork has left a big imprint and got me to think about art as much more than a picture, but to look at it as a whole and analyze it. This painting always seemed interesting and intriguing for a couple of reasons. There are many themes going on, the colors are very monochrome but yet look vivid and life like, and it has a very deep meaning with the themes of mortality, sin, and shows the end results for evil doings. The triptych has three different panels and all three have their own story to tell. When the triptych is closed and both left and right sections are shut you see the world in tones of gray or neutral colors. At the uppermost left corner of the closed sections you can see a depiction of God looking down at the world with an open book in his hands. The first one on the left tells the story of how God introduced Adam to Eve. They are shown to be in a beautiful and surreal looking location which is thought to be paradise. Adam, Eve, and God ... In this particular drama, death does play a serious role and does possess some of the above mentioned characteristics, but not the stereotypical role associated by many with death; here Death is cast as an obvious servant of God, not the typical servant of evil. Certain uncommon qualities are given to Death in this play as well; Death clearly demonstrates fairness and mercy in his allowance of Everyman to take a companion with him to the grave. Ron Tanner, writing in the Philological Quarterly, illustrates another, borderline, humorous quality in Everyman, specifically Everyman s negotiation with Death: What makes the exchange between Death and Everyman humorous is Everyman s attempts at negotiation. First he asks for an extension of time, then he tries to bribe Death...it is ridiculous to attempt such bargains. This is the end, after all. Now, gentle Death, says Everyman, still hoping to slip away, spare me till tomorrow. The humor here is that Death is anything but gentle or noble: one has only to imagine the ghastly figure of death looming over the now flattering Everyman to appreciate the irony. Everyman s words are doubly ironic since his request for respite has dwindled from twelve years to only one day. (Tanner 1991) While the scene described by Tanner is not intended to be a ...
