Goodnight Mr Tom Identity
Goodnight Mister Tom (1981), is a novel by Michelle Magorian. It follows the story of a boy named
Willie, who is evacuated from London to his new home of Little Weirworld. He lives with a
misanthropic old man named Thoman Oakely, here Mr. Tom takes in the role of a supporting father
figure and helps him grow and develop from the state his abusive mother left him in. Within the text,
Magorian presents the key idea that changes in a person s identity, positive or negative, are complex,
fluid and crucial to their very character. This is explored further with the ideas such as; conflict shapes
a person s identity; that all identity change a occur for a reason; and that a person s surroundings can
bring change about in their identity. Magorian conveys ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the book, characters such as Mister Tom change dramatically, we are shown through their
speech and actions that they change in order to fulfil a purpose. At the beginning of the story, Mister
Tom, a misanthropic old man, has a shy young boy, Will, put under his care. Placed in a new and alien
situation, he has to reciprocate, as he develops compassion and learns to care for Will as well as taking
on new roles and becoming more open. Magorian uses characterisation to display to the reader Tom s
progression, with points that are taken from different stages of the book such as Eat up, I ain t got all
day. , and I love you too, boy, he (Mister Tom) grunted. , this shows immense change which allows
him to care for his emotional needs. This is as his diction and tone have changed from harsh, rude and
demanding, to caring and loving. That clearly shows that his identity has changed in order to care for
Willie. Very early on we are shown he doesn t accept the inevitability of war and refuses to buy a gas
mask, however, soon after Willie arrives he purchases two gas masks in order to protect the boy, his
actions and morals being clearly shaped from very anti war to cautious in order to provide for Willie.
He later even volunteers for a role in protecting the town from fires,

Punk Subculture Research Paper
The punk subculture, which centres on punk rock music, includes a diverse array of ideologies,
fashions and forms of expression, including visual art, dance, literature and film. The subculture is
largely characterized by anti establishment views and the promotion of individual freedom. The punk
subculture is centered on a loud, aggressive genre of rock music called punk rock. It is usually played
by small bands consisting of a vocalist, one or two electric guitarists, an electric bassist, and a
drummer.
Although punks are frequently categorised as having left wing or progressive views, punk politics
cover the entire political spectrum. Punk related ideologies are mostly concerned with individual
freedom and anti establishment views. Common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early punk fashion adapted everyday objects for aesthetic effect, such as T shirts, leather jackets
(which are often decorated with painted band logos, pins and buttons, and metal studs or spikes), and
footwear such as Converse sneakers, skate shoes, brothel creepers, or Dr. Martens boots. Hardcore
punk fans adopted a dressed down style of T shirts, jeans, combat boots or sneakers and crewcut style
haircuts. Women in the hardcore scene typically wore army pants, band T shirts, and hooded
sweatshirts.[1]
One part of punk was creating explicitly outward identities of sexuality. Everything that was normally
supposed to be hidden was brought to the front, both literally and figuratively.
Punk aesthetics determine the type of art punks enjoy, usually with underground, minimalistic,
iconoclastic and satirical sensibilities. Punk artwork graces album covers, flyers for concerts, and
punk zines. Punk has generated a considerable amount of poetry and prose. Punk has its own
underground press in the form of punk zines, which feature news, gossip, cultural criticism, and
interviews. Some zines take the form of perzines. Important punk zines include Maximum RocknRoll,
Punk Planet, No Cure, Cometbus, Flipside, and Search Destroy . Many punk themed films have been
made, as have punk rock music videos and punk oriented skateboarding videos. Some punk films

The Contrast of the Heian-Era Courtier and the Kamakura...
The Contrast of the Heian Era Courtier and the Kamakura Samurai April 29, 2011 The Contrast of the
Heian Era Courtier and the Kamakura Samurai The major periods that shaped Japan s history and
future were the Heian era of Aristocracy and the Kamakura period of Samurai. The Heian era and the
Kamakura period are interesting because of their differences in social structure, tradition, and culture.
In the Heian era, the aristocrat s social class was sought by many because of their social and cultural
status. When the warrior rise in the Kamakura age the social classes change dramatically between
aristocrat and warrior. The Heian era (794 1191) was an age of self development in Japan s culture and

In 1159, Kiyomori of the Taira clan was victorious over the Minamoto clan. Kiyomori murdered all
the adults of the Monamoto clan and forced the children into exile. The emperor rewarded Kiyomori
victory by giving him an advisor position in the government. This event was significant because
Kiyomori was the first warrior in Japan s government. Like the Fujiwara family, Kiyomori desired a
royal bloodline within the Taira clan. So the Taira clan consorted with the imperial family in efforts to
secure an imperial bloodline. Later, Kiyomori obtain a higher government position and more
importantly a grandson was born and is heir to the throne. Feeling cheated an imperial prince sought
the exiled Minamoto to overthrow the Taria clan. In 1180, Yoritomo of the Minamoto clan formed an
army and battled with Taira clan that is known as the Genpei War. Eventually, Kiyomori died and the
Taria clan shortly declined after him. During these battles warriors ran amok pillaging the Japan s
cuntryside. To end the chaos and violence the imperial turned to Yoritomo. Yoritomo in return raise an
army of samurais and took complete control of the government and transformed it into a military
government. The Kamakura government consisted of the emperor, shogun, and the house men. The
emperor served merely as a figurehead, he little to no control of his government. The shogun had

Fashion In Modern Society
Fashion is very important. It is life enhancing and, like everything that gives pleasure, it is worth
doing well. Vivienne Westwood. Fashion is not only a materialistic aspect in society but a voice a
voice which project identity, whether it is expensive or not. Extant fashion has enticed us as
consumers to reveal a quality about ourselves. In a world where fashion can be placed into a hierarchy.
Contemporary fashion reflects labels morphed into a designer s aesthetic, but with a more attainable
price point. The development of modern society has become a ground breaking system, freely
expressed by all demographics, whether it s a child or someone in there 80 s. Coco is the six year old
Japanese instagram star, who emphasizes fashion as a culture. Her street style places her as an outlier
in between other six year olds. Coco has mirrored her voice through the way she dresses whilst not
wanting to be ordinary achieving this through contemporary fashion.
The revelation of fashion has constructed a religion, where people express interest and beliefs.
Growing up having seen fashion form the outside world to museums to the village sin Cyprus. I have
recognized the way fashion is expressed so different yet so
similar, universally and how it portrays individuals separately. When it comes to mannequins or body
s dressing the human body, history has played a huge role in the development of fashion and the way
we have constructed ideologies and designs within fashion today.

The Secession of the South Essay
Tensions between the North and South had grown steadily since the anti slavery movement in 1830.
Several compromises between the North and South regarding slavery had been passed such as the
Nebraska Kansas and the Missouri act; but this did little to relieve the strain. The election of President
Lincoln in 1861 proved to be the boiling point for the South, and secession followed. This eventually
sparked the civil war; which was viewed differently by the North and the South. The Northern goal
was to keep the Union intact while the Southern goal was to separate from the Union. Southern
leaders gave convincing arguments to justify secession. Exploring documents from South Carolina s
secession ordinance and a speech from the Georgia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They further claimed that the fugitive slave act was not being enforced therefore the compact was no
longer protecting the property, the general welfare or securing prosperity for the south. South Carolina
s economy was driven by slave labor and slaves were seen as property. None compliance of the
Fugitive Slave act did impact the future economy and prior investments of the citizens in South
Carolina. It is also noted that domestic tranquility was being disrupted with the increasing number of
abolitionists from the North. Having broken these promises in the Constitution allowed re lease from
obligation to the Union. With no justice the South would not be able to have an arbiter so were entitled
to judge for themselves the facts and failures of the contract. It also allowed the South to determine the
consequences for the failure. The South chose secession as the consequence. Using these claims the
Southern leaders justified secession of the South. The second document the speech to Georgia from
Mississippi Secession Commissioner charges the North with disregard for the constitution based on
Article 1 sec 2 9, Article 4 section 2 and therefore being hostile and an enemy to the South. They
further charge the Black Republican rule, of breaking and overturning the Constitution of the United

The article Dissociation Between History and Challenge in Patients with Physical Urticaria within the
Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology discusses a group of seventy six individuals referred to
the National Institutes of Health with a diagnosis of physical urticaria previous received by either an
allergist, pediatrician, dermatologist, or an internist. The article begins with a well explained definition
of physical urticaria and includes statistics for its prevalence in society. It states that It is estimated
that 0.5% of the population has physically induced urticaria. . . The authors eventually state that there
were a total of 294 tests, respectively ran on the participants. These seventy six subjects ranging from

This article does well to examine the seventy six individuals and their reactions to the challenge
testing, however other than mentioning in a table that some participants had previously been tested it
does not go into detail about the precision of that testing or the depth of it. The majority of the
participants original diagnoses were accurate, however a significant portion were not. This left me a
bit curious on how the physicians of these individuals were able to properly medicate and assist in
treatment. My opinion on this topic however is a bit biased as I suffer from aquagenic urticaria. In my
experience physicians have not had an adequate way of testing for my particular diagnosis or most
physical urticaria. Consequently, I have been misdiagnosed with exercise induced urticaria as well as
cholinergic urticaria in the past. The article did explain that the research done by the doctors and
nurses of this particular study led them to conclude that the different types of physical urticaria can be
difficult to pinpoint when it comes to causes and subgroups. This I imagine would also make it
difficult to treat, which is an added burden individuals with this diagnosis do not need since they are
already in most cases dealing with lifestyle changes and other

Fitzgerald’s Use of Color in the Great Gatsby
F. Scott Fitzgerald s classic novel, The Great Gatsby, exposes the corruption and greed of the Roaring
Twenties. Fitzgerald is able to captivate readers attentions through his employment of color
symbolism. Fitzgerald portrays important messages in the novel by his symbolic use of colors. Colors
play an important role in Fitzgerald s descriptions of the lives of Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway and many
of the other characters in the novel. Fitzgerald uses the colors white, yellow, and green to express
certain sentiments to the reader, commenting what is going on in the story. Fitzgerald uses the color
white to symbolize purity and innocence, while yellow is used to symbolize moral decay, and death.
Green is used to represent hope and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Gatsby attempts to hide his dishonesty, Nick, considers himself one of the few honest people
that I have ever known (Fitzgerald, 59) and Fitzgerald often describes him as wearing white. The first
time he attends one of Gatsby s infamous parties, he wears a white flannel suit. Nick is aware of the
importance of this event, being formally invited to one of Gatsby s parties, and wants to project the
right image. His white suit emulates honesty and the appearance of being untainted. Similar to white
projecting honesty and purity, Fitzgerald also uses it to symbolize perfection. Daisy, always in white,
was perfect in Gatsby s eyes. He lived his life around her, in order to reclaim her. Just as Daisy s
whiteness symbolized perfection to Gatsby, the white world of the upper class was the epitome of
perfection for Myrtle Wilson, Tom s mistress. To Myrtle, the perfect life would be to live like Daisy, to
be wealthy. Although she lives in the valley of ashes as the wife of a garage owner, she feels she
belongs with the upper class. She stakes claim in high society through Tom, but will never be fully
able to gain access to their elite world. Fitzgerald shows her attempt to become white through her
clothing. When she is first seen in the novel, she is wearing a spotted dress of dark blue (Fitzgerald,
25).

Great Old Ones Research Paper
Great Old Ones The Great Old Ones are a group of cosmic beings created by 1920 s horror author
Howard Philips Lovecraft. They are primarily antagonists in his stories to the human protagonists, and
usually are victorious since they are extremely powerful. This pantheon of god like beings has been
referenced in many pieces of media and literature, as they are the pinnacle of the cosmic and
Lovecraftian horror subgenres. The first story to ever feature these beings was Dagon , written in 1917
and was the breakout story for Lovecraft. It s plot involved a mentally unstable marine officer writing
a letter about the horrors he witnessed while his ship was captured by German sea raiders, then
proceeded to crash onto an unknown island, which was filled with dead carcasses, weird obelisks, and
fish like people. The story ends when the officer writes about an amphibian hand on his window,
implying that he was then killed by the creature. This story featured a Great Old One who would later

Then, during a celebration of conquering Ib, Bokrug rose once again with his army of lizard like

What Is The Secret Of Prosperity
The Secret Of Prosperity The Secret of Prosperity is a very simple one. It is so simple that the people
do not realize it. Many people do a lot of work throughout the day and do not find blessings in their
work. Some people find that whatever they touch prospers. The secret is given by the psalmist in
Psalm 1: 1 3. Blessed is the man whose delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His law he meditates
day and night. It is not possible to read the Bible day and night all the time. But meditating in the Law
of the Lord means that he should compare his thoughts, words and deeds with the Law and
commandments of the Lord always. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings
forth its fruit in its season. His leaf also shall not wither. People expect the fruit of the blessings of
God the moment they decide for the Lord. But there is a season for bringing forth the fruit. And above
all it is said, Whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Psalm 1: 3). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

William Shakespeare s Three Sets Nature And The...
The Sublime in Three Sets Nature and the Romantics are two sides of the same coin. In almost every
single poem we have read over the course of this semester we have been able to find hints of the
natural world. These instances were moments of hunger. While industrialization was tearing
landscapes up by their roots, Romantic poets were desperate to experience the euphoric sense of
sublimity they had come to associate with the highest level of consciousness. However, this sense of
sublimity is not a constant achievable state. For each poet the definition is different, and time was
altering the facets of this theory. This paper will look critically at two poets and one essayist in an

These pastoral farms, / Green to the very door; and wreaths of smoke / Sent up, in silence, from

Smoke symbolizes warmth within these homes, as well. The reference to the word pastoral is
connotative with rural countryside based imagery. There is also a sense of innocence about this
landscape. Something the speaker is looking in on with feelings of elation. Wordsworth definition of
the word sublime is one of positivity, which is shown in the following quotation. ...felt along the heart;
/ And passing even into my purer mind / With tranquil restoration: feelings too / Of unremembered
pleasure: (29 32). Wordsworth is giving us what is happening internally to our speaker. He is lulled by
this picturesque countryside into complete tranquility and peace. He is even allowed the wonderful
feeling of pleasure. For Wordsworth, the sublime is synonymous with pleasure of the purest form.
Other language that supports this claim are words such as beauteous joy and dizzy rapture to describe
the experience of looking down upon Tintern Abbey s splendor. Further within the reading we find
that the sublime is often tantamount to mystery and a deep sense of the unknown. However, this
mystery to Wordsworth is not a haunting one. The following quotation expands on this characteristic
of the sublime. Of aspect more sublime; that blessed

Honor Society Application
I made my decision to attend Bishop State Community College after high school because it was
important to my parents and myself to have a great transition from high school to college at a gradual
pace; with the goal of eventually transferring to an university. I was extremely focus on finding a
career that match my passion in the areas of sciences and the years I would like to spend on my
education. I never gave a thought about looking into honor societies at my college. In fact, I did not
think I had the qualification to be invited to join any honor society; for Instant, I assume I had to have

upon transferring. My most memorable experience that will forever stay with me, was the day my
chapter advisor invited me to Phi Theta Kappa International convention in 2012 in

Conference were treated to educational forums, presentations on a variety of topics, and special guest.

this proposal talks about creating a support system for the students at Camosun College. It is
economically friendly in the way that the re use, recycle method would be put into place at both
campuses. The proposal itself says that it will create financial support for students at both campuses,
but has very poor English and vocabulary, and the main point is not made clear. Of what I could
understand the individual who wrote this paper wants to set up a student funded flea market of sorts,
where students could buy tables from Costco that cost $20 and sell their textbooks, non perishable
food items, etc at reasonable prices to other students. I recommend for this proposal that whoever
wrote it, go back and go through spell check, as words like money were spelled incorrectly all the way
through, and that a lot of their vocabulary is very basic and hard to follow or understand. The Plan
section seems more like a budget than anything else, it doesn t tell you how the student society will be
brought into the mix as it mentioned in the Introduction, or how they will garner the attention of
students to volunteer and spend the $20.00 on the table, or how the 8 000.00 a year will be distributed
among everyone involved. I recommend that the writer re visit The Plan section and actually add in a

Homeless Population in America Essay
One of the most prominent social issues is that of the homeless population. According to Korge Furst,
24 percent of the homeless population are severely mentally ill, 20 percent are physically disabled, 19
percent are employed, 14 percent are victims of domestic violence, 14 percent are veterans, while 3
percent are HIV positive (Chp. 2.4, 2012). Although there are numerous programs and policies to
eradicate homelessness, we still see that the numbers continue to rise. Essentially, social theories such
as conflict, functionalist, and symbolic interactionist theories have been fundamental methods used to
study and examine social issues like homelessness. Therefore, expanding on innovative methods and
policies for the vulnerable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, some interactional theorists would most likely point to the unwillingness with some
employers to hire homeless individuals and may lack any academic or prior employment experience.
This is more often than not a terrible disappointment as well as discouragement for the lower
economic status individuals and is one element that sometimes discourages numerous homeless
people from even trying to pursue employment in the first place.
Korgen tells us The nature of our interactions with others determines how we see ourselves and our
role in society. In turn, our actions are conditioned, though not determined, by the social situations in
which we find ourselves (Chp. 1.3, 2012).
The third sociological theory that helps explain the homeless population is that of the Symbolic
Interactionist. Korgen Furst state... Symbolic interactionist theory maintains that society is a social
construct, continually created and recreated by humans interactions with one another. So basically
what we agree upon as a society. As we practice certain patterns of interaction, we reinforce the belief
that society just works that way. Therefore, Symbolic Interactionist maintain that by changing how we

The World Trade Organization s Agenda And Implementation...
INTRODUCTION Dating back to 1949, the World Trade Organization was preceded by the General
Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. The primary purpose of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade
was to reduce tariffs and other barriers to trade, as well as to eliminate preferences in order for trade to
be mutually advantageous. Currently, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade is still in effect
under the World Trade Organization, which was established to facilitate international trade, economic
growth and development. However, the goals of the World Trade Organization have been called into
question. Although the intergovernmental organization was established in order to aid developing
states to succeed into developed states, the World Trade Organization has been criticized for widening
the social gap between the Global North and South. The World Trade Organization s agenda and
implementation of its agreements have all served to advance the interests of developed states,
sidelining the interests of developing states. What is increasingly more alarming is the fact that three
fourths of the members within the World Trade Organization compromise of developing states. This
paper will aim to analyze the various ways in which the World Trade Organization has marginalized
and allowed for the exploitation of developing states. Through examining the consequences of foreign

Analysis Of The Book Carver Essay
Every story you read has an author behind it now how you interpret that s up to you, but some authors
have a completely different interpretation of their writing. Some authors hide deep meaning behind
their writings that can be difficult to catch. Authors will use symbolism to tell a different story. A
period of their life could affect the way they write and you can see that as a reader if you pick apart the
story. Raymond Carver is a great example on how a period in his life affected his writing. Carver was
going down a dark path which readers can see the affects of this period in his life in his writing style.
It took Carver some time to find his sense of hope again, and when he did so did his writing. Carver
was known to be a great writer even according to Stephen King, Carver was considered to be one of
the most influential writing in the 20th century (King). Also, know for being one of the most important
contributors to literature. In his short stories Carver chronicled the everyday lives and problems of the
working poor in the Pacific Northwest. His blue collar characters are crushed by broken marriages,
financial problems, and failed careers. This short stories mirrored Carver s own life. Carver s stripped
down, minimalist prose style is remarkable for its honesty and power. He is credited with helping
revitalize the genre of the English language short story in the late 20th century.Carver dealt with a

Christmas Child Reflection
Operation Christmas Child has been a part of more than half of my life. I started volunteering when I
was eight at a family friend s church. However, the only reason I volunteered was because I needed
community service hours for school. I always secretly wished to be put in the packing group since it
had the least leadership role because I never wanted to be a leader. What I did not know at that time,
was those years before high school were preparing me for what God had in store for me. When I
started my freshman year in high school, I still had to do community service. This led me to continue
doing Operation Christmas Child. I was now volunteering at my school, Trinity Christian High School
along with my athletic director, Mr. Fitz, who was in charge of running it. Even though this was taking
place somewhere else, I expected that I would still be able to have a role not involving leadership.
This was not the case because Mr. Fitz had something else in store for me. He assigned to me the role
of the log sheets, which included talking to people, writing down the amount of boxes were dropped
off, and making sure the logs were neat and correct. I was very nervous to take on this role, so much
that I would start to shake causing me to get anxious and start sweating right before I would have to
talk to someone. There was a routine I went through every time. Hello, have you dropped boxes off
here before? I asked. Yes, I have a school teacher said. Great, what church or

and the Republican Party. A political party is a group of individuals who share similar interest and
they work together with one another to construct and execute policies. The Democratic Party was
established in 1828, by Andrew Jackson. The Democratic Party was created based on a belief in an
unyielding government and an advocacy of social and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nation is aware of the benefits political parties hold, and they are also are aware of their
hindrances. Numerous Americans oppose the political party system, because of their potential to
negatively hinder our society. They disagree with the system so much that they would rather see the
political party system abolished than see it reformed. I understand fully that the political party system
has their issues. For instance, our political party system does not offer equality for all parties. In our
society, our party system operates under the two party system, if we had three or more parties running
they would not have a fair chance. We only examine are two leading political parties in our ballots.
The system lacks equality which can be extremely unsetting to voters who support the less popular
parties. We are known as the land of equal opportunity, yet we contradict ourselves. In addition,
political parties can be selfish and they do not always focus on what is beneficial to our nation as a
whole. Political parties will focus on their interest and their end goals that will only benefit them. The
list goes on but I do not believe abolishing the party system is the answer. Abolishing the political
party system would be to extreme, but I do believe the party system needs to be reformed. Instead of
parties receiving funds from wealthy corporations there should be

My Lost Vacation
One of the best vacations I have been on is when I went to Las Vegas, Nevada, becuase it s one out of
the two vacations I ve ever been on. I went on this trip with my mom and my dad. This was the first
time my parents and I have been to Vegas.
One of the main reasons we went to Vegas was for the Motocross Championships. We left early in the
morning at 5:00 am to make out flight in Cedar Rapids. We flew to Denver, Colorado and then flew
from Denver to Las Vegas arriving sometime in the middle of the day. When we got to Las Vegas we
went to get a car rental. We met this cool guy that we rented the car from because he gave us a good
deal by giving us a mid size car rental but only charging us for a compact size car. After we got our car
rental we went to go eat at the Mexican restaurant. This Mexican restaurant looked like this old beat
down little building but was a bomb restaurant. This Mexican restaurant was one of the best
restaurants I have ever eaten at. It was amazingly delicious. After all our bellies were full we decided
to go see the Vegas strip where all the famous buildings and places were.
Later after we were done exploring we went back to our resort and wandered around, then went to
bed. The time schedule was different so we were staying up till about 2 in the morning from Vegas,
but about 12 pm in Iowa. The next morning we wake up and go downstairs and get a cup of Starbucks
coffee. After we got our coffee we would go hang out by the pool outside or I would

Three Models And Theories Of Classroom Management
Analysis of Three Models/Theories of Classroom Management
A teacher s classroom duties and responsibilities vary. However, the key role of a teacher is to
maintain effective classroom management by creating a safe and supportive learning environment. To
avoid disorder in the classroom, teachers need to establish an environment where rules or procedures
guide students conduct. The absence of such classroom organisation creates an ineffective and
unsustainable teaching and learning environment. Therefore, an understanding of the different theories
of classroom management such as Goal Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Theory and
Assertive Discipline equips teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to offer students the best
chance to succeed at school. A teacher s beliefs, attitudes and values help inform the best approach;
therefore, an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the three aforementioned theories will be
conducted, in addition to a concluding summary detailing the similarities and differences.
Firstly, Goal Centered Theory [GCT] is a classroom management approach developed by Rudolf
Dreikurs. Dreikurs founded GCT on the psychoeducational philosophies of Alfred Adler s Individual
Psychology Theory (Wright, 1957). The key principles of GCT advise that students behaviour is goal
directed, purposeful and aimed at attaining social approval (Dreikurs, Grunwald Pepper, 1998; Lyons,
Ford Slee, 2014). This instinctive need to belong is reflected in

Medicare-Recent Changes In Healthcare
Recent Changes in Medicare The year 2017, you will notice a change moving on into place for the
healthcare. If you already have or do not have medicare, there will still be a change that will be
noticed. Other than the usual every year changes that are introduced to be helpful to the program.
Everyone knows that Medicare is made for older adults starting the age of 65 or older, even with
people who have disabilities and they do not care about the income. A growth in premiums and high
deductibles will be posted. The use of inflation determines the gain of benefits that will be put into
place. An increase in a check might not be huge but still remember that you might be expecting a little
rise. If you are applying for Part B and get accepted

The Lady s Not For Turning
To those waiting with bated breath for that favorite media catchphrase, the U turn, I have only one
thing to say: You turn if you want to. The lady s not for turning. Margaret Thatcher at the 1980
Conservative Party Conference in Brighton Britain emerged as one of the victors of World War II and
became a founding member of the United Nations with a permanent seat on the Security Council.
However, it lost the title of global superpower, easily demonstrated by the Indian movement for
independence, and the botched attempt to occupy the Suez Canal. Massive war debts, lack of
economic productivity, and high spending, accruable to the demise of the British Empire, created
problems for all new government administrations . When Margaret Thatcher took office in 1979, she
became the first female prime minister and the first female head of state in the Western world. Guided
by her political philosophies, she sought to fix the problems that Britain faced. In doing so, she forever
changed the face of the United Kingdom. The Life and Tenure of Margaret Thatcher (Birth to
Election) Margaret Hilda Thatcher (née Roberts) was born October 13, 1925 in Grantham,
Lincolnshire, England. Raised in a strict Methodist family , she was the oldest daughter of Alfred
Roberts, a grocer, minister, and local politician, and Ethel Stephenson, a homemaker. Emulating her
father, she formed an early desire to be a politician. Propelled by her intelligence, she scored a spot at

Smoking Should Be Allowed In High School
Growing up, teenagers and children of the like hear an adult discuss their high school experience.
Back in the day, smoking was common for teenagers and even adolescents. There were specific rooms

Bible Verses On Forgiveness In Marriage
Bible verses on Forgiveness in marriage
The biblical perspective of forgiveness in marriage correlates with forgiveness in all relations. The
incorporation of spiritual angle of forgiveness allows married couples to have faith in marriage
restoration. The Christian principles advocate for forgiveness because of its negative effects stated in
Galatians 5:19 (acts of sinful nature). Galatians 5:22 lists the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are the
positive results of forgiveness. They include: love, peace patience, faithfulness, humility, kindness,
joy, gentleness, and self control.
The bible states that forgiveness is the power of the Holy Spirit for it draws love. In marriage, prayer
is a powerful tool of intercession between Christ our father (God). The example of how to pray in our
Lord prayer in Mathew 6:1 states ....Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us
A letter of Paul to the Ephesians in Chapter 4:31 32 ...Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger brawling
lander and every form of malice. 32: be kind and compassionate to another, forgiving one another just
like Christ in Heaven forgave you. We are compelled to love on another. Christ took the form of man
and went through all humiliation and further crucifixion, if He could still forgive us for our sins, then
who are we to hold grudge with our spouses?
Some of the hurt feelings are so deeply rooted in our hearts to an extend you feel forgiveness is not an
option. There is hope when you

Definition Essay On UGA HERO
Hero (n.): a person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for their brave deeds and noble
qualities; someone who fights for a cause; a large sandwich made of a long crusty roll split lengthwise
and filled with meats and cheese
The definitions of a hero are endless ranging from dignified to downright tasty. Still, with all these
interpretations it makes me wonder. What defines a true hero? I found my answer when I joined UGA
HEROs.
When I stepped foot onto UGA s campus I knew I wanted to get involved. To me, trying out a
volunteer organization was an obvious start. It was safe. It was volunteering. No one could make me
do it or stay if I didn t want to and while I was at it I could rack up some good karma points. I quickly
learned that there was basically the big three (among several other awesomely worthy organizations)
when it came to volunteer organizations on campus Relay, Miracle, and HEROs.
HEROs stood out to me for three reasons:
1. They were the most in my face and consistently passionate at organization fairs.
2. I didn t really know much about HIV/AIDS so I thought it could be a good learning experience.
3. The name. I mean it just sounded cool (and not to mention red is definitely my color) ... Show more

However, for my efforts I was allowed to be on a committee, but I didn t really know what was going

to our biggest event of the year to see what all the hype was about HEROs Olympics. That day I

I Am A College Student
I m a college student on a typical college student s budget, and I moved into my apartment about a
year ago. Let me tell you this, I just now decorated my room. Yes, I spent an entire year staring at
stark white walls, with nothing but last years calendar and my celebrity crush of the moment hanging
o the wall beside my bed. There s nothing inviting about an undecorated room, in fact it s sort of
depressing, and I wouldn t recommend it to anyone. No matter what your budget, decorating is
important and can be done. Here s how I gave my room a personal touch for less than $100. Like most
people the first thing I thought of to decorate my walls with were pictures. Little did I know how
expensive pictures could be. I first looked for framed pictures at discount retailers like Target, figuring
I could get a good deal. Wrong. Even their smaller pictures cost about $30, and while that isn t really
expensive, it was just a tad bit more than I wanted to spend on one item. I did come across a rather
small rectangular picture for $10 in the sale bin at Rite Aid, and a matching pillar candle for the same
price at Kmart, but those items ended up in my bathroom so they don t count towards the total for my
room. The point is, however, that we can t discriminate against those really cheap shops. To find good
pictures for a really low price I recommend going to unexpected places, such as Rite Aid. Believe it or
not, you might just find one or two items you like. If all else fails,

Am I going to eat THIS? Really? To be honest, I absolutely did not want to try it. I have a very strong
obsession with cleanliness. I am a person who even avoids holding on the straps of a train. Yakisoba
with the beer partially consumed by some middle aged man? No. It s not my thing.
But when the grilled, pleasant smelling Yakisoba was served in front of me, it just blew my mind.
Appetite is something mysterious. All of sudden, the Yakisoba seemed to be very delicious!
When I put this newly made Yakisoba in my mouth, it tasted so hot. And the noodles with sauce the
seasoning was slightly thick, the manager s preference, I guess.
I tasted the spiciness in the food, and I was wondering if the spice is from the pepper he added before.
Not only that, but I was also able to perceive subtle difference of flavor, from the secret ingredient half
consumed beer became invisible in Yakisoba, but aroma remained. What was that about? In fact, the
ingredients looked quite simple, just pork and cabbage, but with browned surface in places, conflated
with the fragrant smell of sesame oil, nothing could stop me from eating my food.
You beat me.

1) I feel that our podcast project is a success when referring to our progress check in. The main goal
that I wanted to achieve was to create a podcast that will show soon to be lawyers and prosecutors that
they are incarcerating people with an illness, not criminals. This should lead to empathy and create
institutions that rehabilitate drug addicts rather than incarcerate them. The factors that deem this
progress a success are the systematic, institutional and personal problems that told listeners about. We
talked about the systematic problems that stemmed from Richard Nixon s War on Drugs and how
African Americans were disproportionately targeted. Next, we showed how the War on Drugs created
institutional problems. As an example we used the Medical University of Southern Carolinas policy to
drug test pregnant women, which led to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We then explained how every mother that was tested was black and that the only white mother tested
was having a black child. Lastly, we talked about the personal problems that came from incarcerating
mothers, specifically African American mothers. Using two personal accounts we talked about how
the incarceration of women of color leads to intergenerational poverty. This podcast clearly shows
how African American women are targeted through drugs and that incarceration is not the answer. 2)
Although our project incorporates diverse viewpoints, they are limited to what Rachelle and I were
able to access within the allotted time to record our podcast. We used scholars from class material,
personal accounts, and outside sources that stem from our Wiki assignment. We used Patricia Hill
Collin s Black Feminist Epistemology to validate the lived experiences of African American women.
Collin s work gives a viewpoint that allows listeners to see the reality black women go through as
factual evidence. We followed Patricia Hill Collin s work with two personal accounts, one of Janet
Taveras and the other from my mother. Janet Taveras

False Shephers In Dante s Inferno
Literal: Poems are notoriously impossible to take literally as most of the meaning lies deeper within
the words, however, as Dante says, one first needs to understand the literal if one is to understand the
allegorical. Therefore, what is my poem trying to say literally? First of all we have they , who seems
to be a shepherd who tend to sheep, They say to their sheep, a simple front. Lead them down the
surely green path. They seem to take good care of their flock, however, something seems wrong,
especially if they are leading their sheep into oblivion. Suddenly we are in a land of everlasting dawn,
a seeming paradise, but we soon learn that these shepherds are being tormented by fallen angels and
will be tormented forever. Of course the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poem seems to follow the traditional retribution principle argument, that if you do evil then evil
will be done unto you. However, as the Book of Job explains, this notion is not correct, that there will
be, and has been, false shepherds who abuse their flock without retribution. On the contrary though,
this is also a poem and does include the author s feelings and emotions and can simply be their
outlook and message that one should not be false shepherds in the first place. Nevertheless, at this
level we can separate the amateur writing from the great writing. If the moral messages of the writing
are strong then that means all the metaphors, symbols and imagery in the writing works in tandem
with each other to paint the larger picture. However, if the morals messages writing are weak then that
means the literary devices of the writing are also confusing and bewildering, leading to an unmoving
and ineffective piece of writing. This poem is not at the moral level yet, because the moral of the
poem is not very strong, as it is mostly

The Importance Of Legalizing Abortion In The United States
Imagine being a woman with an unplanned pregnancy and no ability to get an abortion because the

unimaginable and terrifying hardships, which is why abortions should be legal throughout the United

Agatha Christie Dysgraphia
Agatha Christie Dysgraphia It was quite true and I knew and accepted it. It did not worry or distress
me. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha Christie said
one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia. Christie s
dysgraphia caused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from being an
amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three percent of
elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writing disability. Other names for
dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math disability (Siegel).
When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process; therefore, the children have
trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia have trouble forming letters, while
others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle with
the process, they become preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there
are many devices to help with the disease, there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of
the tools one can use to help a child with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can
use is special education services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education
services which can help children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools
commonly used may include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools
(259). Many teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note
taker. Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use
the checkbook programs companies provide (259).
Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the
symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters,
unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page (Richards
63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia, and
symptoms may

In the sixth section of the book Blown to Bits , the author talks about copyrights and how they can be

very hard to do without placing very hard legislation on the internet, which will result in a loss of
rights that the internet is fighting so hard to retain. The RIAA, which is the Recording Industry of
Association of America, has been trying very hard to protect their property by using unconventional
methods to protect their property, which includes often searching and pestering people about how they
obtained copies of their music. The reason this is an issue is because the record labels can no longer

Micah And Henri In A Company Of Fools
Comparative essay Micah and Henri, from Ellis Novel A Company of Fools, are very different people
when they meet each other for the first time but as the story progresses their similarities begin to show.
They are both orphans that have been taken in under the religious monks of St Luc. Micah was
snatched from the jaws of death on the streets where he lived, sung and stole, unlike Henri who grew
up with the nuns from an early age and then moved to the monk s Abbey to become a choirboy. As
Henri began his time at St Luc he was known as a quiet and shy boy but as Micah came into Henri s
life his attitude towards others changed. Henri and Micah start off by not enjoying each other s
company very much but as their time together progresses they become closer and closer together until
they are the best of friends. Micah and Henri are both orphans that have been taken into the careful
hands of the monks of St Luc and although they are both orphans they both grew in very different

From Homer’s Odyssey to Star Wars
From Homer s Odyssey to Star Wars The Unchanging Path of the Hero
In the fiction world heroes have been one of the most entertaining figures. It has always been fun and
interesting to read about heroic stories and about different obstacles that heroes had overcome. When
someone mentions the word hero it is more likely to think of characters like Batman or James Bond,
but it is for sure that if we had the chance to ask the same question centuries before, the answer would
have been different. From comics or TV it is seen that heroes change physically and spiritually
through time, but the heroic pattern stays always the same when moving from ancient times to today s
heroes.
The first hero whose pattern I am going to unfold is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later he faces the sphinx and defeats her by answering her riddle. This is a heroic act, considering that
nobody else in the kingdom could find an answer to that riddle. This victory makes him a king and he
marries with his mother just like mentioned in the beginning of the story. This shows the difficulties
he has to face. At the end of the story he is realizes his sins and punishes himself This part can be
considered as his redemption, defeating the most difficult opponent he had ever faced: himself (Green
73).
The second hero I want to give as an example of heroic pattern from ancient times is Perceval who is a
knight of King Arthur s court. In Perceval s case heroic pattern is again starts with a journey and the
reason here is Perceval s need to find his mother, whom he left years ago to become a knight. He
enters the unknown in search for his mother and just like a classical hero; he faces trials on his way.
He fights other knights and defeats them. In his journey he comes across the Fisher King who is
wounded and cannot walk and the king offers a feast for him and he accepts. During the dinner he sees
a grail which is supposed to have great healing powers and a bleeding lance. Unfortunately, Perceval
doesn t ask the king the reason who does the Grail serve and why does the lance bleed.

It follows the story of a boy named Willie, who is evacuated from London to his new home of Little Weirworld. He lives with a misanthropic old man named Thoman Oakely, here Mr. Tom takes in the role of a supporting father figure and helps him grow and develop from the state his abusive mother left him in. Within the text, Magorian presents the key idea that changes in a person s identity, positive or negative, are complex, fluid and crucial to their very character. At the beginning of the story, Mister Tom, a misanthropic old man, has a shy young boy, Will, put under his care. Placed in a new and alien situation, he has to reciprocate, as he develops compassion and learns to care for Will as well as taking on new roles and becoming more open. Magorian uses characterisation to display to the reader Tom s progression, with points that are taken from different stages of the book such as Eat up, I ain t got all day. , and I love you too, boy, he (Mister Tom) grunted. , this shows immense change which allows him to care for his emotional needs. This is as his diction and tone have changed from harsh, rude and demanding, to caring and loving. That clearly shows that his identity has changed in order to care for Willie. Very early on we are shown he doesn t accept the inevitability of war and refuses to buy a gas mask, however, soon after Willie arrives he purchases two gas masks in order to protect the boy, his actions and morals being clearly shaped from very anti war to cautious in order to provide for Willie. He later even volunteers for a role in protecting the town from fires, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The subculture is largely characterized by anti establishment views and the promotion of individual freedom. The punk subculture is centered on a loud, aggressive genre of rock music called punk rock. It is usually played by small bands consisting of a vocalist, one or two electric guitarists, an electric bassist, and a drummer. Although punks are frequently categorised as having left wing or progressive views, punk politics cover the entire political spectrum. Early punk fashion adapted everyday objects for aesthetic effect, such as T shirts, leather jackets (which are often decorated with painted band logos, pins and buttons, and metal studs or spikes), and footwear such as Converse sneakers, skate shoes, brothel creepers, or Dr. Martens boots. Hardcore punk fans adopted a dressed down style of T shirts, jeans, combat boots or sneakers and crewcut style haircuts. Women in the hardcore scene typically wore army pants, band T shirts, and hooded sweatshirts.[1] One part of punk was creating explicitly outward identities of sexuality. Everything that was normally supposed to be hidden was brought to the front, both literally and figuratively. Punk aesthetics determine the type of art punks enjoy, usually with underground, minimalistic, iconoclastic and satirical sensibilities. Punk artwork graces album covers, flyers for concerts, and punk zines. Punk has generated a considerable amount of poetry and prose. Punk has its own underground press in the form of punk zines, which feature news, gossip, cultural criticism, and interviews. Some zines take the form of perzines. The Contrast of the Heian Era Courtier and the Kamakura Samurai April 29, 2011 The Contrast of the Heian Era Courtier and the Kamakura Samurai The major periods that shaped Japan s history and future were the Heian era of Aristocracy and the Kamakura period of Samurai. The Heian era and the Kamakura period are interesting because of their differences in social structure, tradition, and culture. In the Heian era, the aristocrat s social class was sought by many because of their social and cultural status. In 1159, Kiyomori of the Taira clan was victorious over the Minamoto clan. Kiyomori murdered all the adults of the Monamoto clan and forced the children into exile. The emperor rewarded Kiyomori victory by giving him an advisor position in the government. This event was significant because Kiyomori was the first warrior in Japan s government. Like the Fujiwara family, Kiyomori desired a royal bloodline within the Taira clan. So the Taira clan consorted with the imperial family in efforts to secure an imperial bloodline. Later, Kiyomori obtain a higher government position and more importantly a grandson was born and is heir to the throne. Feeling cheated an imperial prince sought the exiled Minamoto to overthrow the Taria clan. In 1180, Yoritomo of the Minamoto clan formed an army and battled with Taira clan that is known as the Genpei War. Eventually, Kiyomori died and the Taria clan shortly declined after him. • 6. The Secession of the South Essay Tensions between the North and South had grown steadily since the anti slavery movement in 1830. Several compromises between the North and South regarding slavery had been passed such as the Nebraska Kansas and the Missouri act; but this did little to relieve the strain. The election of President Lincoln in 1861 proved to be the boiling point for the South, and secession followed. This eventually sparked the civil war; which was viewed differently by the North and the South. The Northern goal was to keep the Union intact while the Southern goal was to separate from the Union. Southern leaders gave convincing arguments to justify secession. Exploring documents from South Carolina s secession ordinance and a speech from the Georgia ... South Carolina s economy was driven by slave labor and slaves were seen as property. It is also noted that domestic tranquility was being disrupted with the increasing number of abolitionists from the North. Having broken these promises in the Constitution allowed re lease from obligation to the Union. With no justice the South would not be able to have an arbiter so were entitled to judge for themselves the facts and failures of the contract. The article begins with a well explained definition of physical urticaria and includes statistics for its prevalence in society. This article does well to examine the seventy six individuals and their reactions to the challenge testing, however other than mentioning in a table that some participants had previously been tested it does not go into detail about the precision of that testing or the depth of it. The majority of the participants original diagnoses were accurate, however a significant portion were not. This left me a bit curious on how the physicians of these individuals were able to properly medicate and assist in treatment. My opinion on this topic however is a bit biased as I suffer from aquagenic urticaria. In my experience physicians have not had an adequate way of testing for my particular diagnosis or most physical urticaria. Consequently, I have been misdiagnosed with exercise induced urticaria as well as cholinergic urticaria in the past. The article did explain that the research done by the doctors and nurses of this particular study led them to conclude that the different types of physical urticaria can be difficult to pinpoint when it comes to causes and subgroups. This I imagine would also make it difficult to treat, which is an added burden individuals with this diagnosis do not need since they are already in most cases dealing with lifestyle changes and other ... Fitzgerald is able to captivate readers attentions through his employment of color symbolism. Fitzgerald portrays important messages in the novel by his symbolic use of colors. Colors play an important role in Fitzgerald s descriptions of the lives of Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway and many of the other characters in the novel. Fitzgerald uses the colors white, yellow, and green to express certain sentiments to the reader, commenting what is going on in the story. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Gatsby attempts to hide his dishonesty, Nick, considers himself one of the few honest people that I have ever known (Fitzgerald, 59) and Fitzgerald often describes him as wearing white. The first time he attends one of Gatsby s infamous parties, he wears a white flannel suit. Nick is aware of the importance of this event, being formally invited to one of Gatsby s parties, and wants to project the right image. His white suit emulates honesty and the appearance of being untainted. Similar to white projecting honesty and purity, Fitzgerald also uses it to symbolize perfection. Daisy, always in white, was perfect in Gatsby s eyes. He lived his life around her, in order to reclaim her. Just as Daisy s whiteness symbolized perfection to Gatsby, the white world of the upper class was the epitome of perfection for Myrtle Wilson, Tom s mistress. To Myrtle, the perfect life would be to live like Daisy, to be wealthy. Although she lives in the valley of ashes as the wife of a garage owner, she feels she belongs with the upper class. • 9. Great Old Ones Research Paper Great Old Ones The Great Old Ones are a group of cosmic beings created by 1920 s horror author Howard Philips Lovecraft. They are primarily antagonists in his stories to the human protagonists, and usually are victorious since they are extremely powerful. This pantheon of god like beings has been referenced in many pieces of media and literature, as they are the pinnacle of the cosmic and Lovecraftian horror subgenres. The first story to ever feature these beings was Dagon , written in 1917 and was the breakout story for Lovecraft. It s plot involved a mentally unstable marine officer writing a letter about the horrors he witnessed while his ship was captured by German sea raiders, then proceeded to crash onto an unknown island, which was filled with dead carcasses, weird obelisks, and fish like people. The story ends when the officer writes about an amphibian hand on his window, implying that he was then killed by the creature. Many people do a lot of work throughout the day and do not find blessings in their work. Some people find that whatever they touch prospers. The secret is given by the psalmist in Psalm 1: 1 3. Blessed is the man whose delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night. It is not possible to read the Bible day and night all the time. But meditating in the Law of the Lord means that he should compare his thoughts, words and deeds with the Law and commandments of the Lord always. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings forth its fruit in its season. His leaf also shall not wither. People expect the fruit of the blessings of God the moment they decide for the Lord. But there is a season for bringing forth the fruit. In almost every single poem we have read over the course of this semester we have been able to find hints of the natural world. These instances were moments of hunger. While industrialization was tearing landscapes up by their roots, Romantic poets were desperate to experience the euphoric sense of sublimity they had come to associate with the highest level of consciousness. However, this sense of sublimity is not a constant achievable state. For each poet the definition is different, and time was altering the facets of this theory. Wordsworth is giving us what is happening internally to our speaker. He is lulled by this picturesque countryside into complete tranquility and peace. He is even allowed the wonderful feeling of pleasure. For Wordsworth, the sublime is synonymous with pleasure of the purest form. Other language that supports this claim are words such as beauteous joy and dizzy rapture to describe the experience of looking down upon Tintern Abbey s splendor. Further within the reading we find that the sublime is often tantamount to mystery and a deep sense of the unknown. However, this mystery to Wordsworth is not a haunting one. The primary purpose of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade was to reduce tariffs and other barriers to trade, as well as to eliminate preferences in order for trade to be mutually advantageous. Currently, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade is still in effect under the World Trade Organization, which was established to facilitate international trade, economic growth and development. However, the goals of the World Trade Organization have been called into question. Although the intergovernmental organization was established in order to aid developing states to succeed into developed states, the World Trade Organization has been criticized for widening the social gap between the Global North and South. What I did not know at that time, was those years before high school were preparing me for what God had in store for me. When I started my freshman year in high school, I still had to do community service. This led me to continue doing Operation Christmas Child. I was now volunteering at my school, Trinity Christian High School along with my athletic director, Mr. Fitz, who was in charge of running it. • 22. Three Models And Theories Of Classroom Management Analysis of Three Models/Theories of Classroom Management A teacher s classroom duties and responsibilities vary. However, the key role of a teacher is to maintain effective classroom management by creating a safe and supportive learning environment. To avoid disorder in the classroom, teachers need to establish an environment where rules or procedures guide students conduct. The absence of such classroom organisation creates an ineffective and unsustainable teaching and learning environment. Therefore, an understanding of the different theories of classroom management such as Goal Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Theory and Assertive Discipline equips teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to offer students the best chance to succeed at school. A teacher s beliefs, attitudes and values help inform the best approach; therefore, an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the three aforementioned theories will be conducted, in addition to a concluding summary detailing the similarities and differences. Firstly, Goal Centered Theory [GCT] is a classroom management approach developed by Rudolf Dreikurs. Dreikurs founded GCT on the psychoeducational philosophies of Alfred Adler s Individual Psychology Theory (Wright, 1957). The key principles of GCT advise that students behaviour is goal directed, purposeful and aimed at attaining social approval (Dreikurs, Grunwald Pepper, 1998; Lyons, Ford Slee, 2014). I tasted the spiciness in the food, and I was wondering if the spice is from the pepper he added before. Not only that, but I was also able to perceive subtle difference of flavor, from the secret ingredient half consumed beer became invisible in Yakisoba, but aroma remained. What was that about? In fact, the ingredients looked quite simple, just pork and cabbage, but with browned surface in places, conflated with the fragrant smell of sesame oil, nothing could stop me from eating my food. You beat me. Staring at the empty iron plate, I couldn t help thinking like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Podcast Project 1) I feel that our podcast project is a success when referring to our progress check in. The main goal that I wanted to achieve was to create a podcast that will show soon to be lawyers and prosecutors that they are incarcerating people with an illness, not criminals. This should lead to empathy and create institutions that rehabilitate drug addicts rather than incarcerate them. The factors that deem this progress a success are the systematic, institutional and personal problems that told listeners about. We talked about the systematic problems that stemmed from Richard Nixon s War on Drugs and how African Americans were disproportionately targeted. Next, we showed how the War on Drugs created institutional problems. As an example we used the Medical University of Southern Carolinas policy to drug test pregnant women, which led to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We then explained how every mother that was tested was black and that the only white mother tested was having a black child. Lastly, we talked about the personal problems that came from incarcerating mothers, specifically African American mothers. Using two personal accounts we talked about how the incarceration of women of color leads to intergenerational poverty. This podcast clearly shows how African American women are targeted through drugs and that incarceration is not the answer. 2) Although our project incorporates diverse viewpoints, they are limited to what Rachelle and I were able to access within the allotted time to record our podcast. We used scholars from class material, personal accounts, and outside sources that stem from our Wiki assignment. We used Patricia Hill Collin s Black Feminist Epistemology to validate the lived experiences of African American women. Collin s work gives a viewpoint that allows listeners to see the reality black women go through as factual evidence. We followed Patricia Hill Collin s work with two personal accounts, one of Janet Taveras and the other from my mother. Janet Taveras ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. False Shephers In Dante s Inferno Literal: Poems are notoriously impossible to take literally as most of the meaning lies deeper within the words, however, as Dante says, one first needs to understand the literal if one is to understand the allegorical. Therefore, what is my poem trying to say literally? First of all we have they , who seems to be a shepherd who tend to sheep, They say to their sheep, a simple front. Lead them down the surely green path. They seem to take good care of their flock, however, something seems wrong, especially if they are leading their sheep into oblivion. Suddenly we are in a land of everlasting dawn, a seeming paradise, but we soon learn that these shepherds are being tormented by fallen angels and will be tormented forever. Of course the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poem seems to follow the traditional retribution principle argument, that if you do evil then evil will be done unto you. However, as the Book of Job explains, this notion is not correct, that there will be, and has been, false shepherds who abuse their flock without retribution. On the contrary though, this is also a poem and does include the author s feelings and emotions and can simply be their outlook and message that one should not be false shepherds in the first place. Nevertheless, at this level we can separate the amateur writing from the great writing. If the moral messages of the writing are strong then that means all the metaphors, symbols and imagery in the writing works in tandem with each other to paint the larger picture. However, if the morals messages writing are weak then that means the literary devices of the writing are also confusing and bewildering, leading to an unmoving and ineffective piece of writing. This poem is not at the moral level yet, because the moral of the poem is not very strong, as it is mostly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are women across the nation who feel and endure these unimaginable and terrifying hardships, which is why abortions should be legal throughout the United States. • 34. Agatha Christie Dysgraphia Agatha Christie Dysgraphia It was quite true and I knew and accepted it. It did not worry or distress me. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia. Christie s dysgraphia caused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writing disability. Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process; therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease, there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker. Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use the checkbook programs companies provide (259). Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters, unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page (Richards 63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia, and symptoms may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Controlling illegal copies of copyrighted content is very hard to do without placing very hard legislation on the internet, which will result in a loss of rights that the internet is fighting so hard to retain. The RIAA, which is the Recording Industry of Association of America, has been trying very hard to protect their property by using unconventional methods to protect their property, which includes often searching and pestering people about how they obtained copies of their music. The reason this is an issue is because the record labels can no longer protect the music they produce, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As part of marketing in business, strategy is a leading light because it is a plan of action designed and followed by businesses to become successful. Three companies in the same industry can offer similar products in a completely different ways. Branding is everything and understanding what customers want determines a company s brand position. Airline companies are great examples of numerous companies offering the same product. The alliance will facilitate easy transfers to both airlines customers, but will not allow either airline to sell seats on the other airline, unlike traditional code share alliances, meaning customers must make individual reservations with both carriers, the newspaper said. With a goal of improving flight experience, JetBlue became the first airline to offer all passengers personalized in flight entertainment. In 2000, flat screen monitors were installed in every seatback which allows customers live access to over 20 DIRECTV channels at no additional cost. Micah And Henri In A Company Of Fools Comparative essay Micah and Henri, from Ellis Novel A Company of Fools, are very different people when they meet each other for the first time but as the story progresses their similarities begin to show. They are both orphans that have been taken in under the religious monks of St Luc. Micah was snatched from the jaws of death on the streets where he lived, sung and stole, unlike Henri who grew up with the nuns from an early age and then moved to the monk s Abbey to become a choirboy. As Henri began his time at St Luc he was known as a quiet and shy boy but as Micah came into Henri s life his attitude towards others changed. Henri and Micah start off by not enjoying each other s company very much but as their time together progresses they become closer and closer together until they are the best of friends. • 38. From Homer’s Odyssey to Star Wars From Homer s Odyssey to Star Wars The Unchanging Path of the Hero In the fiction world heroes have been one of the most entertaining figures. It has always been fun and interesting to read about heroic stories and about different obstacles that heroes had overcome. When someone mentions the word hero it is more likely to think of characters like Batman or James Bond, but it is for sure that if we had the chance to ask the same question centuries before, the answer would have been different. From comics or TV it is seen that heroes change physically and spiritually through time, but the heroic pattern stays always the same when moving from ancient times to today s heroes. The first hero whose pattern I am going to unfold is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later he faces the sphinx and defeats her by answering her riddle. This is a heroic act, considering that nobody else in the kingdom could find an answer to that riddle. This victory makes him a king and he marries with his mother just like mentioned in the beginning of the story. This shows the difficulties he has to face. At the end of the story he is realizes his sins and punishes himself This part can be considered as his redemption, defeating the most difficult opponent he had ever faced: himself (Green 73). The second hero I want to give as an example of heroic pattern from ancient times is Perceval who is a knight of King Arthur s court. In Perceval s case heroic pattern is again starts with a journey and the reason here is Perceval s need to find his mother, whom he left years ago to become a knight. He enters the unknown in search for his mother and just like a classical hero; he faces trials on his way. He fights other knights and defeats them. In his journey he comes across the Fisher King who is wounded and cannot walk and the king offers a feast for him and he accepts. During the dinner he sees a grail which is supposed to have great healing powers and a bleeding lance. Unfortunately, Perceval doesn t ask the king the reason who does the Grail serve and why does the lance bleed. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
