The Great Chicago Fire In Chicago Illinois
THE GREAT CHICAGO FIRE I n October 1871, Chicago Illinois was built on wood. There was dry
weather, and wooden buildings which made the city vulnerable to fires. The new city had drawn many
people there, to start new work. Then one day a tragic fire struck the city. It s still a mystery how the
fire started, but some people have their own theories. A common legend told is that a cow kicked over
a lantern in the O Leary s barn. Which started a blaze, and burned out of control because of the dry
weather. The wrong fire department was called, which means it took longer for them to get there and
put the fire out. Thus, by the time they got there the fire was spreading uncontrollably. A steady wind
from the southwest carried the flames

Sappho s Use Of Imagery Essay
Imagery is utilized in literature to appeal to the reader s senses and to paint a picture in their
imagination. Poets use the images they create to help the reader interpret their writing. For instance, in
Psalm 104 descriptive language is used throughout to praise the beauty of earth as god created. The
poem opens by praising the greatness of the lord and continues into: Who coverest thyself with as with
a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain / Who layeth the beams of his chambers into
the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot (Lines 2 3). In these lines the poet is explaining how
god created the natural world. The reader can visually picture god creating the heavens, in their
vastness, just as if he were shaking out a curtain. Attempting to picture the creation of heaven can be
difficult, however, the author uses a simile to help readers develop a clear picture. ... Show more

For example, in Sappho s poem number 94, her use of imagery allows the reader to experience the
speaker s loss of their lover in lines 1 5:
I simply want to be dead.
Weeping she left me
with so many tears and said this:
Oh how badly things have turned out for us.
Sappho, I swear, against my will I leave you.
The poem is written as a conversation between Sappho and a woman who is leaving her, probably to
marry another. The reader can relate and feel Sappho s heartbreak and relate to her agony. There is
also a sense of fondness between the two women as the discuss the time they shared together (lines 10
20).
Boat of Cypress, contained in the Classic of Poetry, also utilized imagery to allow the reader to relate
to the speaker of the poem.
The Boat of cypress drifts along, it drifts upon the steam.
Restless am I, I cannot sleep,
As though in torment and troubled.
Not am I lacking wine
To ease my mind and let me

Executive Systems Responsible for Visually Guided Movement
Land (2009) suggests that three executive systems are responsible for visually guided movements,
namely gaze, vision and action, and these are overseen by a fourth system labelled the schema system.
Figure 2.12 is an illustration a particular model that has been developed to explain visually guided
movement in natural environments, so it is relevant to sport.
Figure 2.12 illustrates the relations of the schema, gaze, visual, a from nd motor systems during the
performance of a visually controlled action. (Adapted Land 2009:51 62).
The gaze system, consisting of the frontal eye fields is responsible for locating and fixating (targeting)
task relevant objects. The visual system, located in the occipital lobe and much of the temporal lobe
supplies information to the other two systems, providing feedback as to what is being fixated and
directional guidance to the motor system. In this way the eyes act to gather the information necessary
for successful performance (Land 2009). In line with this thinking it is generally accepted that eye
movements tend to precede motor actions by about one second, this is dependent on the specific task
demands (Land Furneaux 1997, Land 2009).
It has been identified that the first visible response in visually guided action is usually an eye
movement corresponding to the direction and location of some feature important for task execution.
The eyes then fixate and

Comparison Of G Block And H Block Sat A Piece Of...
Between G Block and H Block sat a piece of corrugated iron tubing. Soggy leaves and bark were
smeared along the outside of it. Inside was dry earth and cold silver. That was where we went, Del and
I. I thought it looked like the poor man s version of a piece of playground equipment. From a
playground from not too far away, on the other side of the river bank away, closer to the worst kind of
civilisation. A human hamster wheel that was what it was called. When a person lies inside and there s
light at either ends of the tunnel and you have to peddle fast with your hands and feet, all the way
round in a cylindrical loop. Not so easy to stop. Not suitable for children under four that s what the
sign would say, even when it was smeared with a streak of blue from a can of spray paint. The four
year olds would go in and fall out and break an arm over the course of an afternoon play session. A
council inspector in a striped high visibility vest would arrive to look over the equipment. Then they
would walk past us and look up at the abandoned buildings of Briar Hills High School and shake their
head at the eyesore. They would probably write some notes too. One of us would go outside just to
burst a tyre on their car. The council always parked in the same place marked with a faded yellow line.
It was right in front of the barrier which looked like a brittle and old fence to them but to us it meant
we could hide and forget. When they parked near the barrier it was too close.

The Harm Principle In John Stuart Mill s Essay On Liberty
In this excerpt and the essay On Liberty (1859) as a whole John Stuart Mill seeks to set out the
guidelines for when liberty can be justly infringed upon and uses examples to show when liberty is
unjustly infringed upon by society or an authority within society.
During this excerpt John Stuart Mill sets out the Harm principle which would come to be influential in
both classical liberalism and modern day liberalism. The harm principle states that The only purpose
for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his
will, is to prevent harm to others (Mill, On Liberty, p13). In this he is placing the individual at the
centre of liberalism and the individual s freedom as one of the cornerstones of liberalism which still
persists to this day.
As John Stuart Mill set out in his harm principle that there are only a few circumstances under which a
community can rightfully exercise power over somebody this is shown when Mill states His own
good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant. He cannot rightfully be compelled to do or
forbear because it will be better for him to do so, because it will make him happier, because, in the
opinions of others, to do so would be wise, or even right (Mill, On Liberty and ... Show more content

The Pros And Cons Of Disabilities
The only disability in life is a bad attitude Scott Hamilton. People who are born physically impaired
do not let that define them or hold them back from being happy. Although, some may say people with
disabilities are treated equally even though they are handicapped, they are wrong. Handicapped people
are treated differently through social interactions because they are Handicapped. People s physical
disability will vary in everyone.
The word handicapped is first recorded in the late 19th century in the sense referring to a person s
mental or physical disabilities. In British English it was the standard term until the 1980s, but it has
been superseded by disabled, or, in reference to mental disability, expressions such as having learning
difficulties or learning disabled. In American English handicapped is still sometimes used, especially
in phrases such as handicapped accessible and handicapped parking. The International Classification
of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) defines disability as an umbrella term for impairments,
activity limitations and participation restrictions. Disability is the interaction between individuals with
a health condition (e.g. cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and depression) and personal and
environmental factors (e.g. negative attitudes, inaccessible transportation and public buildings, and
limited social supports). People have different ways of explaining and knowing what disability really
means.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Zeitoun
In his documentative account, Zeitoun, altruistic author Dave Eggers illustrates the experiences of one
muslim man, Abdulrahman Zeitoun, and his struggle to respond to and cope with the trials facing
society and nature following Hurricane Katrina. By describing the destructive flooding of his home
and his neighborhood, Eggers establishes a desperate tone, as a race against time ensues to save what
is left. As the physical landscape drastically changes, so do the very morals and establishments that
hold society together. Eggers utilizes several rhetorical strategies to highlight the cruel and destructive
stigmatization of Muslim Americans in a post 9 11 society, and that in times of calm or chaos, the
common man is the same despite the labels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously established using ethos, Eggers portrays Zeitoun as a reliable protagonist, a man who
shares many of the same morals and ethics with other human beings alike despite the small label of
being of arab descent and of the muslim fate. Similarly, Eggers relies upon the appeal of pathos to
render the reader sympathetic for Zeitoun, in order to achieve the same effect. When the flood from
the damaged levies reaches Zeitoun s neighborhood, Eggers demonizes the floodwater, describing it as
almost animalistic using verbs such as swallowed and crawled when referencing the water flooding
the property. This use of personification reveals Eggers motive to bring to light the helplessness felt by
Zeitoun to save what he has left from the damaging waters. In this Man versus Nature situation, the
reader feels the impact of the flood tearing away at what Zeitoun has built for himself. The stigma that
Eggers wishes to make redundant, and the same that would label Zeitoun a terrorist need not apply
here. The response Eggers wishes to trigger from the audience is that of sympathy and

Indian Removal Dbq
Politics, race, and medicine were all important factors during the Indian Removal of 1830, as they had
convinced the people of the United States that removing the Natives from their land was the right step

further away or to force them to assimilate to western culture.
Politics has always and will always play a large role in how the United States interacts with other
cultures. Jefferson through the Louisiana Purchase, bought 883,000 square miles from the french;

What Does White Man s Burden Mean
In the poem White Man s Burden, white man s burden is a phrase that came about in the controversy
about the United States procession of the Philippines after the Spanish American war. It was a theory
that the white Europeans would have to bring a sense of properness to the non white Europeans due to
the fact that they did not have a sense of properness. In the poem, it is suggested that the citizens
acquire a skill from practice. In the poem, it reads Take up the White Man s burden Have done with
childish days The lightly proferred laurel, The easy, ungrudged praise. Comes now, to search your
manhood (Kipling). The acquired skill is that the non white Europeans have acquired the skill of
putting away the childish days, and are now in search of manhood. This could be interpreted that the

During American Imperialism, the term white man s burden was used as a justification for expansion
and annexation. The form of justification of imperialism use is the term civilizing mission . This term
best describes the justification due to the fact that The White Man s Burden, explains the civilizing
mission as the motion to make all citizens right minded by the white Europeans. The white Europeans
had the mission to civilize non proper cultures. The same line mentioned above also confirms the idea
that the non white European had adjusted to the ways of the white European s and has accomplished
the goal of becoming a man. Social Darwinism can also be found in this poem. . Social Darwinism is
the theory that tries to explain the success of specific social group. This term can be used to describe
the tone of the poem due to the fact that it is expressed that a specific group of people is far more
superior and educated than another group. The line Take up the White Man s Burden (Kipling) is
evidence enough to support this

Is Scout An Important Character In To Kill A Mockingbird
Why is Scout Such an Important Character
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most recognizable books of all time. Ever since it s July 1960
release date it has been hailed for its genius writing, relatable characters, and narration. The novel is
told through the eyes of Scout, a young girl living in the fictional Alabama town of Maycomb, and
how she develops during an important time in her childhood. Scout s character will affect the story in
many different ways. As the only narrator, all of what you know of Maycomb and its inhabitants is
through her eyes. Her childlike demeanor, strong southern accent, and personality add to the book s
charm and memorability. You will get to see her evolve as a person throughout the entire story. Scout
is not only the most memorable, but the most important.
In To Kill a Mockingbird the primary narrator of the story is Scout. All the characters, setting, and plot
are introduced by Scout. You will come to know these characters through her. Why is Scout as the
narrator so important? Simple, you are able to see Scout growing up facing these challenges internally,
instead of externally. Through this story, you understand her emotions and see her learning about the
world. This also demonstrates a major conflict she and her family face. She ultimately comes to her
own conclusions. We have all been kids once, so we can relate to Scout and her dilemma. During the
confrontation with Bob Ewell at the ending of the book, if Jem were the

Analysis Of Rock And Metal Music
Groups of individuals continue being misunderstood by society leading to exaggerated misconceptions
of what is true about them. Emos are one of the many groups who are strictly misunderstood because
of their appearance and personal preferences. They are usually portrayed as being in their teens,
having long black hair, and wearing skinny jeans with a shirt of their favorite bands. While the
description does apply to them, it does not always mean that every person dressed like that is
considered an Emo. The simple meaning of a person who is classified as an Emo is that they are very
emotional towards situations, the cause usually being a horrific past experience. Rock and metal music
is the preferred music genre of the group which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether or not a person listens to emo music, writes emo poetry, or adopts an alternative lifestyle is a
personal decision that does not automatically have anything to do with the colour or cut of their hair (
Emo Scene Community Lifestyle Culture 2). What the author is trying to state is that we should not be
labeling an individual solely because they enjoy the fashion sense of a group. Just because someone
looks a specific way does not mean that it is okay to ridicule them in a manner that makes them
uncomfortable. It is okay for someone to dress or look how they desire, but what is not okay is for
them to be made fun of for what they like and enjoy.
When someone thinks of the word Emo, many different visuals appear in their mind. Most people
usually imagine a tall, slender, teenage male dressed in all black clothes with long, black hair. In the
article, What is emo? Why Emo? , the author describes them as, The fashion was simple: black tight
clothing with a dash of color thrown in their elbow length gloves or poetry covered converse. There
were the side bangs that produced what my friends in high school called the Cyclops look because it
covered one eye. And to follow up on the low self esteem, being thin was an obsession. If you wore
the clothes and appeared to weigh close to a hundred pounds, you were Emo, otherwise you were a fat

Responsibility And Entitlement In The Movie Starship Troopers
Entitlement. It seems that every American youth believes that they are entitled to call themselves an
American. They believe just since they were born in America they hold the right to call themselves
Americans. I believe however, that the right of citizenship must be earned. I believe such is true after
watching, the movie Starship Troopers. In this sci fi movie people are given the choice to become a
citizen by serving two years in the Federal Service. This does not imply military occupations, but
instead offers a wide variety of different jobs. Civilians (non citizens) must serve a two year minimum
service to their country to receive the right to vote, but once they have finished the service they
receive pretty nice benefits. In modern America I believe this can be accomplished with a minimum of
1 year of national mandatory service.
When people hear mandatory service they instantly believe that they will have to serve in the military,
but they are wrong. Just this year alone, 5.78 million jobs will go unfilled in America, and almost all
of those are outside of the military. Though in the Movie Starship troopers the military is the most
glorified (and so it should be in modern America), they do not fail to mention how there are many
other government jobs that people could fill, and all the while they are making their nation a stronger
place. When kids turn 18 they should finally earn their citizenship by making their country better. It
would be good for 18 year

Catcalling And Social Media
Street harassment, also know as catcalling, is an action that I hate the most. Street harassment is
unwanted sayings or gestures that are targeted toward someone in specific based on sexual orientation
or gender, and in this case, women. Catcalling can be verbal such as compliments, like, hey, baby.
Catcalling can be physical, like groping a part of the body, and it can also be sexual remarks. When I
see street harassment on social media, like in a picture or a video, I feel uncomfortable, so I can t even
imagine how some women feel when they have inappropriate comments thrown at them constantly.
I think catcalling is the dumbest thing that anyone could have possibly thought of. Women don t
deserve to get harassed on the street. We want to get from point A to point B without any interruptions,
unless it s with our consent and if it s a friend whom consent was given to. If I have to get stopped on
the street for a gross man to comment on my butt or follow me, it is not going to be a very good day.
Most women I know, do not enjoy the act of being catcalled, however, research from ILR ( Street
Harassment Statistics ) and Hollaback!, a non profit organization, showed that only 3%, out of 4,900
participants in the survey under the age of 40, has found street harassment flattering. Some people do
like it, and I m not going to shame, but I d much rather have people that know me and are my friends

Renaā€™s Concept of Nation Building Based on Chavez and Morales
Ernst Renan s concept of nation is about a proposal that urges people to come together in order to have
consciousness about the process of building a nation and to forget about the differences in geography,
language, race, and religion. He insists on telling that a nation is composed of people s collaboration
and agreements to stay together and be governed by mutual approval because they shared a common
past. Based on this concept, we can say that Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales were trying to build a
nation by using history to unify the nation and to challenge the notion of geography and in the case of
Morales the language and race.

Similar to Chavez, Evo Morales contributed to the concept of geography as part of making a nation
because Bolivia is divided into two races groups: European and Indigenous. It was difficult for Evo to
be able to unify Bolivia for being an Indigenous person. He can be seemed as one of the men that
Renan mentioned who are healthy in mind and warm of heart because he was creating a kind of moral
conscience based on the coca leaf which he defended to be a form of food supply for the poor. As
well, he said that the growing of coca was a job for the peasant community (based on the film
Cocalero). In addition, we can see that the contact with the people by playing soccer games with the
local miners demonstrate the moral consciousness that he wanted to implement. The fact that Evo
spoke demonstrated that the language as Renan said need to be forget, even though, there was a great
percent of people who spoke Quechua. He wanted to reach everybody by speaking the primary
language. Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales had similar and different contributions about Rena s concept
of nation building. Chavez supported the ideas that geography was important to unify and to have
progress in the nation. While, Morales was challenging this characteristic because Bolivia is a perfect
example of how difficult is to govern when a nation is divided. Both Presidents were fighting for
agrarian reform and this made the poor to enforce the agenda of each president. They tried to reach

So joining a Discourse community is a major part of life, because it can help you to grow as a human
being, and to learn a lot of things that can turn helpful to become successful in the future, therefore
through personal experiences one can demonstrate the importance of joining these communities thus
to convey young people to understand that living this experience would give them the chance to share
with self opinionated people, that while arguing with them, they can reach into conclusions that could
change their way of thinking and seeing life. Consequently by presenting my personal experience, I
can let people know how essential joining a discourse community can be. Gaitas is a musical rhythm

Josef Mengele Essay
Josef Mengele Josef Mengele was the oldest of three sons born to Karl and Walburga Mengele in the
village of Gunzburg. Karl was a local industrialist who owned a plant that manufactured farming
equipment. He was known as a stern but fair employer and a hard worker. It was his wife Walburga,
however, whom his employees feared the most. A big woman with a terrible temper, she was often
known to walk the floor of her husband s factory and publicly tell off employees for being lazy and
poor workmanship. Warnings were hurriedly passed down the production line whenever Walburga was
seen walking towards the factory, and workers purposely avoided her to get away from her wicked

Jazz Dance Research Paper
There are many different styles of jazz dance. The first of these is authentic jazz dance. It has
influences that come from African movement, and was developed along with jazz music during the
early 1900s. Some qualities which are often seen in this style include groundedness, syncopation,
polyrhythm, polycentrism, articulation of the torso, circles, improvisation, and individuality. Two
styles of dance which fall into this category include tap dance, which developed as a collection of
native African dances combined with European dances, and club jazz dance, which developed in the
80s ad includes elements such as fast footwork, splits, knee drops, and spins. Another style of jazz

One of these people was Jack Cole. Cole trained with many prominent modern dancers of the time,
including Ruth St. Denis, Ted Shawn, Doris Humphrey, and Charles Weidman, as well as studying
ballet with Cecchetti. He danced with Denishawn, a modern company, but also spent time dancing in
nightclubs. He was also introduced to dance styles from India. His influence from ballet, modern, and
ethnic dances, helped him to create his own style, which was seen in his choreography. He did a lot of
choreography that was displayed in either Broadway productions, or movies. Some of these included
Ziegfeld Follies, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Some Like It Hot. His style included movements
such as intensity in the eyes, a low center of gravity, use of levels, and attack. Another important
figure of this period was Katherine Dunham. She received a degree in anthropology, which she used to
research dance traditions in the Caribbean and in Africa. Although she was primarily trained in
modern, her research on dance traditions within the African American community were an important
contribution to jazz dance. She opened several dance schools throughout her career. One of them, the

Is Public Shaming Fair Punishment By Patt Morrison
Journalist, Patt Morrison, in her article, Is Public Shaming Fair Punishment (2014), argues that
creative sentencing is an effective way to punish the people who committed crimes and felonies but
must be careful to keep it safe and not cruel. She supports her claim by first questioning the 8th
Amendment to consider if creative sentencing is against the law and decides it is not because justice is
still fairly served, then by comparing the shame of creative sentencing to prison and it causes a lot
more vivid denunciation, then by highlighting how prison seems more like a retribution rather than
justice by using the example of Hester Prynne who was not affected by prison, and finally by

Burton Chapter 4
One thematic motif that emerges in chapter 6 of Burton and chapter 4 of Olstein is the concept of
connections and genealogy. Specifically, in chapter 4 of Olstein, he discusses the use of comparing
and connecting as a historiographical methodology that has been both used and challenged by
historians since its creation. In addition, in chapter 6 of Burton, she is discussing genealogy or the
history of how X or Y came to be, was shaped, emerged (Burton, pg. 73). In other words, Burton
contextualizes genealogy by defining it as a backstory.
In chapter 4 of Olstein, he notes early in the chapter, that comparative history has been on the defense
since its institutionalization (Olstein, pg. 83). This demonstrates that this is a highly contested
historical methodology that is yet to be widely accepted by historians. This might have to do with
various historian s interpretations of what comparative and connective history means. For example,
Sanjay Subrahmanyan disagrees with Victor Lieberman s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, Subrahmanyan sees connective histories as, attentive to local, regional, supra regional, and
global interfaces (Olstein, pg. 84). In other words, Subrahmanyan sees Lierberman s work as merely
comparing and contrasting different regions and argues that there is greater importance in looking at
how each region is not only different but also are connected through various means, such as for trade.
Olstein quantifies comparative history by stating it must have at least two units to compare, and that
comparative history is quantitative more than conceptual (Olstein, pg. 88). Through this analysis of
two or more units, we see that comparative history is converging with another methodology that
Olstein discusses in other chapters, which is historical sociology. Olstein concludes his chapter by
looking at the

3 Metal Roofs
Overview of 3 Metal Roof Types For Residential Use
If your home needs a brand new roof, you may be researching all of the materials available to you to
narrow it down. While metal can be a popular choice, there are different kinds of metal materials that
have their own pros and cons. Understand the differences so that you can make an informed decision.
Steel Roofing
A common metal material that is available to you is steel. This is because its popularity is often due to
its affordability, while also being a durable material that can withstand flying debris, high winds, and
frozen rain.
Steel roofs can benefit from having a zinc coating applied to them. It helps steel require less
maintenance over the years, since the coating will help the material ... Show more content on

It s cheaper than using copper, but will cost more than using steel. The biggest drawback with
aluminum is that the metal is soft, so it should be avoided in areas that have flying debris or high
winds that cause impact damage to a roof. The material does weigh much less than other metal roofing
materials, so it does tend to be installed faster and easier than copper or steel.
Aluminum will hold up well in climates that have a lot of rain, since the material will not corrode like
other types of metal roofing. You can purchase the material in shingles or sheets, which are usually
painted after they are installed to improve the overall aesthetics of the roofing material. This will
require additional maintenance over the years to give the material another coat of paint.
Copper Roofing
One of the most expensive metal roofing materials will be copper, but many homeowners go with it
because it s unique and beautiful in its appearance on a home. The material is also incredibly durable
with it being hard to damage, and it will not require any maintenance or cleaning after it is installed.
This makes it great for large homes that create difficulties when trying to access the roof.
A unique attribute of copper is how it is a heavy and thick roofing material, and its size won t change
when facing extreme heat in the summer. The material also changes color as it gets older to a green
blue hue, called the patina process, which is an aspect of it that many people like.

Summary Of Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets
The book I read was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, written by J.K. Rowling. The story
takes place at Hogwarts, a school of witchcraft and wizardry. Harry Potter is a student at Hogwarts,
and Ron and Hermione are his best friends. The main focus was a secret chamber hidden in the school,
that has been opened and was opened years before. There were attacks on the students by a basilisk
snake, which was put there by an evil wizard named Voldemort. Harry, Ron, and Hermione kept
searching for clues to find out how the attacks were happening until they were lead right to the answer.
Over all, the book was a good story and was very exciting and creative. The story begins when Dobby,
a small house elf, warns Harry about something bad in Hogwarts. Something bad did happen. It was
the chamber. It was being opened and attacks were coming from it. Harry was trying to figure out who
was planning the attacks, what was in the chamber, and who opened it. Harry, Hermione, and Ron
made assumptions about who opened it before, and tried to figure out who it was by making potions,
spying, and talking to different people about it. They often met in the girls prefects bathroom to talk.
Once when they were in there making a potion to get ideas out of people, they came across a magical
diary by a person named Tom Riddle. Harry figured out how to work the magic diary and was told that
his friend Poole2 and the professor of magical creatures, Hagrid opened the chamber before, but the

Coffee Commodity Chain And Its Effects On The Global South
Through out this essay I will discuss the coffee commodity chain and its effects on the Global South.
This essay will also, illustrate the impact coffee has on boosting developing countries economies
while, looking into Fairtrade and its links to the commodity chain.
The world in terms of development is divided in two, which is known as the North South divide this
shows a separation between developed and developing countries. This separation is caused by
economic, social and environmental factors, economy being the clearest and most prominent
influence. For many countries in the Global South coffee is their main income, and as a result is
highly important to their economy. For instance if coffee decreases in price then farmers will not earn
enough surplus to keep their farms and what follows is a life of poverty. The following are the world s
top exporters in coffee (as of July 2016, in thousands 60kg bags): 1. Brazil with 1,926 2. Vietnam with
1,650 3. Columbia with 489 4. India with 412 5. Honduras with 403
This is a clear indication that even though these are developing countries they still remain the highest
exporters, which signals they re not entirely benefiting from their produce or in fact receiving enough
money for them. World exportation of coffee grew by 9.5% in August 2016, compared to August 2015
(ICO 2016). This displays an increase in demand for coffee therefore in retrospect farmers should be
able to increase their prices to

Teens like to Ć¢ā‚¬Å“hang outĆ¢ā‚¬Ā at malls and meet their friends (Baker Haytko 2000). Indeed, visiting

crowd are surprising preferences of customers (Kang et al., 1999). The friendliness and conduciveness
of the mall to these activities affects the level the mall spending on the part of the teens. Meeting and
spending time with friends makes a difference in mall choice (Wang et. al., 2000). The physical
appearance of the mall also contributes to mall preferences. These include availability of unique store
design, good air quality and lightning, temperature, spaciousness of internal layout, cleanliness, and
even ease of finding car parking lot (Ibrahim et al., 2002). Other factors that influence the mall
environment perceptions are fashion, clean, organization, reflection of local culture, appeal, sensible,
and function (Kinley et al., 2003). Having adequate aisles and easy to follow layout positively adds to
mall choice (Keep et. al., 1995; Ibrahim et. al., 2002). Interestingly, they also found differential

to view everything in similar way.

If someone blame on me that i have killed someone and i have no evidence, it means not i really killed
someone. During initial inspection of the case there was no evidence in favor of kid. Due to that we
should not assume that kid had killed his father. There may be also possibility that all the evidences

The Ratio Of The Monetary Model
It is no surprise that there have been many literatures on the determination of exchange rates given the
significant impact that movement in exchange rates have on a world s political and economic stability
as well as the welfare of individual countries. It plays an important role in international investments,
company profits and a countries macroeconomic fundamental factor such as unemployment, wages
and interest rates among others. This has led to the development of many models and economic
theories, one of which is the monetary model. Despite this, economists still cannot agree as to which
model best explains movement in exchange rates because the results obtained when testing different
models often contradict one another.
Though the research in this paper doesn t compare different economic models, it does look at the
sticky and flexible price monetary model of exchange rate determination and its variables. The paper
tests the adequacy of the monetary model (how good a job the model does in explaining movement in
exchange rates). It also shows how GDP, interest rates, money supply and inflation influences the
nominal exchange rates for the Eurozone, Japan and the UK against the USD.
The aim of this research is to test if the sticky and flexible price monetary model is valid, which of the
variables making up the model has the biggest impact in the movement of exchange rates for the case
of the Eurozone, Japan and the UK, and comparing the results obtained to provide

Metastasis Term Paper
Metastasis is a hallmark of caner and leading to reduced survival rates of cancer patients. The ability
of a cancer cell to undergo migration and invasion allows it to change position within the tissues.
Metastasis consists of five steps which are termed the metastatic cascade (Fig. 1). These five steps of
cascade are invasion and migration, intravastion, circulation, extravasation, Colonization, proliferation
and angiogenesis. Various cellular processes like de regulated cell growth, loss of cell cell adhesion,
migration through the underlying interstitial stroma, altered survival signaling which support
metastatic spread, therapy resistance and unrestricted tumor growth, facilitate these five step of

The factors limiting the growth of malignant neoplasm include the basal membrane and various
components of the surrounding stroma, increased interstitial pressure, limited oxygen supply to tumor
cells and the formation of active oxygen forms, hypoxia conditions, and permanent exposure to
immune system cells. Given the intra tumoral heterogeneity, in the struggle for survival, some tumor
cells may be subjected to regression and death, while other cells, which resist powerful, counteracting
micro environmental factors, gain an aggressive phenotype and the ability of metastatic progression.
Invasive tumor growth is enabled by the detachment of malignant cells from the tumor mass due to a
reduction in or complete loss of intercellular adhesion molecules, and, therefore, the cells gain the
ability of anomalously high motility enabling penetration through the stiff structural elements of the

Water Is Essential For Any Plants
In order for any plants to grow you need water. Water is essential for any and all life to be sustainable.
Water itself is made up of hydrogen and oxygen. This happens through chemical processes in which
two hydrogen atoms combine with one oxygen atom in order to fulfill a complete outer energy shell.
When the process is completed water is formed.
Water is found all around you. It s in lakes, river, streams, oceans and even in canals. Water makes up
70% of the world. 2% of it is frozen at the poles in glaciers. Although it s most of the world, not all of
the water is drinkable. Roughly 3% of earth s water is fresh water and drinkable. Through scientific
research, a person can only go two days without drinking or consuming any water before they die.
Water also keeps kidneys functioning and working properly.
Photosynthesis is what plants use to create their food, and water is crucial to this process. Water comes
through plant s stems and travels up to its leaves, which is where photosynthesis actually takes place.
Once in the leaves water evaporates, as the plant exchanges water for carbon dioxide. This glucose can
be converted into pyruvate which releases adenosine triphosphate by cellular respiration.
Sunlight is earth s most valuable light source. Without the sun earth wouldn t have plants and the earth
s temperature would be below zero in under a week. If the sun would miraculously go out, it would
take eight and a half minutes to reach earth. Within nine

This also means that only the people that in all reality, could afford the child they are attempting to

people only see the value of a woman by what she creates and carries in her body, because if people
do not want birth control to be accessible to women, they only want them around to carry children.
Years went by without much luck on the goal of legalizing abortion, for the safety of the mothers or
the mothers well being in general. Until Roe v. Wade. It is a common misconception that Roe v. Wade
was the only court case revolving around abortion occurring at this time, but realistically, there were
dozens. With that being said, it is without a doubt that it was not a fluke. It was not by chance that the
passing of this court case was a one time scenario. If Roe v. Wade had not occurred, there would have

court in 1973, when the case was officially votes on and passed, which allowed women to have an

It doesn t teach them self control or ways to change their behavior other than not getting caught
misbehaving. One of the ways kids learn is by watching and mimicking the world around them,
especially their parents. They are quick to learn when words and actions don t coincide, for example,
when a parent spanks a child because the child hits someone else. Being a parent is not an easy job
and it takes time and patience to discipline children.
After a year of implementing a specific discipline for my daughter s temper tantrums, I witnessed my
daughter exercise self control at the age of three. Temper tantrums were her specialty. When my
daughter flew out of control I would put her in her room until she calmed down. Then she was
allowed to rejoin the family and finish the task she was asked to do, or apologize depending on the
circumstances. In this particular instance, when my daughter got angry she picked up her blanket and
stomped upstairs crying without me saying a word other than she couldn t play her musical
instruments in the same room while her sister was watching television. She stayed upstairs for about
ten minutes. After that, she came downstairs and proceeded to play quietly. I sat there in utter
amazement! She had disciplined herself.
To discipline a child we must first consider the problem and why the child is misbehaving. Are we
expecting too much from the child at their age?

  • 2. The Great Chicago Fire In Chicago Illinois THE GREAT CHICAGO FIRE I n October 1871, Chicago Illinois was built on wood. There was dry weather, and wooden buildings which made the city vulnerable to fires. The new city had drawn many people there, to start new work. Then one day a tragic fire struck the city. It s still a mystery how the fire started, but some people have their own theories. A common legend told is that a cow kicked over a lantern in the O Leary s barn. Which started a blaze, and burned out of control because of the dry weather. The wrong fire department was called, which means it took longer for them to get there and put the fire out. Thus, by the time they got there the fire was spreading uncontrollably. A steady wind from the southwest carried the flames ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Sappho s Use Of Imagery Essay Imagery is utilized in literature to appeal to the reader s senses and to paint a picture in their imagination. Poets use the images they create to help the reader interpret their writing. For instance, in Psalm 104 descriptive language is used throughout to praise the beauty of earth as god created. The poem opens by praising the greatness of the lord and continues into: Who coverest thyself with as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain / Who layeth the beams of his chambers into the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot (Lines 2 3). In these lines the poet is explaining how god created the natural world. The reader can visually picture god creating the heavens, in their vastness, just as if he were shaking out a curtain. Attempting to picture the creation of heaven can be difficult, however, the author uses a simile to help readers develop a clear picture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, in Sappho s poem number 94, her use of imagery allows the reader to experience the speaker s loss of their lover in lines 1 5: I simply want to be dead. Weeping she left me with so many tears and said this: Oh how badly things have turned out for us. Sappho, I swear, against my will I leave you. The poem is written as a conversation between Sappho and a woman who is leaving her, probably to marry another. The reader can relate and feel Sappho s heartbreak and relate to her agony. There is also a sense of fondness between the two women as the discuss the time they shared together (lines 10 20). Boat of Cypress, contained in the Classic of Poetry, also utilized imagery to allow the reader to relate to the speaker of the poem. The Boat of cypress drifts along, it drifts upon the steam. Restless am I, I cannot sleep, As though in torment and troubled. Not am I lacking wine To ease my mind and let me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Executive Systems Responsible for Visually Guided Movement Land (2009) suggests that three executive systems are responsible for visually guided movements, namely gaze, vision and action, and these are overseen by a fourth system labelled the schema system. Figure 2.12 is an illustration a particular model that has been developed to explain visually guided movement in natural environments, so it is relevant to sport. Figure 2.12 illustrates the relations of the schema, gaze, visual, a from nd motor systems during the performance of a visually controlled action. (Adapted Land 2009:51 62). The gaze system, consisting of the frontal eye fields is responsible for locating and fixating (targeting) task relevant objects. The visual system, located in the occipital lobe and much of the temporal lobe supplies information to the other two systems, providing feedback as to what is being fixated and directional guidance to the motor system. In this way the eyes act to gather the information necessary for successful performance (Land 2009). In line with this thinking it is generally accepted that eye movements tend to precede motor actions by about one second, this is dependent on the specific task demands (Land Furneaux 1997, Land 2009). It has been identified that the first visible response in visually guided action is usually an eye movement corresponding to the direction and location of some feature important for task execution. The eyes then fixate and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Comparison Of G Block And H Block Sat A Piece Of... Between G Block and H Block sat a piece of corrugated iron tubing. Soggy leaves and bark were smeared along the outside of it. Inside was dry earth and cold silver. That was where we went, Del and I. I thought it looked like the poor man s version of a piece of playground equipment. From a playground from not too far away, on the other side of the river bank away, closer to the worst kind of civilisation. A human hamster wheel that was what it was called. When a person lies inside and there s light at either ends of the tunnel and you have to peddle fast with your hands and feet, all the way round in a cylindrical loop. Not so easy to stop. Not suitable for children under four that s what the sign would say, even when it was smeared with a streak of blue from a can of spray paint. The four year olds would go in and fall out and break an arm over the course of an afternoon play session. A council inspector in a striped high visibility vest would arrive to look over the equipment. Then they would walk past us and look up at the abandoned buildings of Briar Hills High School and shake their head at the eyesore. They would probably write some notes too. One of us would go outside just to burst a tyre on their car. The council always parked in the same place marked with a faded yellow line. It was right in front of the barrier which looked like a brittle and old fence to them but to us it meant we could hide and forget. When they parked near the barrier it was too close. ... • 7. The Harm Principle In John Stuart Mill s Essay On Liberty In this excerpt and the essay On Liberty (1859) as a whole John Stuart Mill seeks to set out the guidelines for when liberty can be justly infringed upon and uses examples to show when liberty is unjustly infringed upon by society or an authority within society. During this excerpt John Stuart Mill sets out the Harm principle which would come to be influential in both classical liberalism and modern day liberalism. The harm principle states that The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others (Mill, On Liberty, p13). In this he is placing the individual at the centre of liberalism and the individual s freedom as one of the cornerstones of liberalism which still persists to this day. As John Stuart Mill set out in his harm principle that there are only a few circumstances under which a community can rightfully exercise power over somebody this is shown when Mill states His own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant. He cannot rightfully be compelled to do or forbear because it will be better for him to do so, because it will make him happier, because, in the opinions of others, to do so would be wise, or even right (Mill, On Liberty and ... • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Disabilities The only disability in life is a bad attitude Scott Hamilton. People who are born physically impaired do not let that define them or hold them back from being happy. Although, some may say people with disabilities are treated equally even though they are handicapped, they are wrong. Handicapped people are treated differently through social interactions because they are Handicapped. People s physical disability will vary in everyone. The word handicapped is first recorded in the late 19th century in the sense referring to a person s mental or physical disabilities. In British English it was the standard term until the 1980s, but it has been superseded by disabled, or, in reference to mental disability, expressions such as having learning difficulties or learning disabled. In American English handicapped is still sometimes used, especially in phrases such as handicapped accessible and handicapped parking. The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) defines disability as an umbrella term for impairments, activity limitations and participation restrictions. Disability is the interaction between individuals with a health condition (e.g. cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and depression) and personal and environmental factors (e.g. negative attitudes, inaccessible transportation and public buildings, and limited social supports). People have different ways of explaining and knowing what disability really means. When people learn someone is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Rhetorical Analysis Of Zeitoun In his documentative account, Zeitoun, altruistic author Dave Eggers illustrates the experiences of one muslim man, Abdulrahman Zeitoun, and his struggle to respond to and cope with the trials facing society and nature following Hurricane Katrina. By describing the destructive flooding of his home and his neighborhood, Eggers establishes a desperate tone, as a race against time ensues to save what is left. As the physical landscape drastically changes, so do the very morals and establishments that hold society together. Eggers utilizes several rhetorical strategies to highlight the cruel and destructive stigmatization of Muslim Americans in a post 9 11 society, and that in times of calm or chaos, the common man is the same despite the labels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously established using ethos, Eggers portrays Zeitoun as a reliable protagonist, a man who shares many of the same morals and ethics with other human beings alike despite the small label of being of arab descent and of the muslim fate. Similarly, Eggers relies upon the appeal of pathos to render the reader sympathetic for Zeitoun, in order to achieve the same effect. When the flood from the damaged levies reaches Zeitoun s neighborhood, Eggers demonizes the floodwater, describing it as almost animalistic using verbs such as swallowed and crawled when referencing the water flooding the property. This use of personification reveals Eggers motive to bring to light the helplessness felt by Zeitoun to save what he has left from the damaging waters. In this Man versus Nature situation, the reader feels the impact of the flood tearing away at what Zeitoun has built for himself. The stigma that Eggers wishes to make redundant, and the same that would label Zeitoun a terrorist need not apply here. The response Eggers wishes to trigger from the audience is that of sympathy and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Does White Man s Burden Mean In the poem White Man s Burden, white man s burden is a phrase that came about in the controversy about the United States procession of the Philippines after the Spanish American war. It was a theory that the white Europeans would have to bring a sense of properness to the non white Europeans due to the fact that they did not have a sense of properness. In the poem, it is suggested that the citizens acquire a skill from practice. In the poem, it reads Take up the White Man s burden Have done with childish days The lightly proferred laurel, The easy, ungrudged praise. Comes now, to search your manhood (Kipling). • 21. Analysis Of Rock And Metal Music Groups of individuals continue being misunderstood by society leading to exaggerated misconceptions of what is true about them. Emos are one of the many groups who are strictly misunderstood because of their appearance and personal preferences. They are usually portrayed as being in their teens, having long black hair, and wearing skinny jeans with a shirt of their favorite bands. While the description does apply to them, it does not always mean that every person dressed like that is considered an Emo. The simple meaning of a person who is classified as an Emo is that they are very emotional towards situations, the cause usually being a horrific past experience. Whether or not a person listens to emo music, writes emo poetry, or adopts an alternative lifestyle is a personal decision that does not automatically have anything to do with the colour or cut of their hair ( Emo Scene Community Lifestyle Culture 2). What the author is trying to state is that we should not be labeling an individual solely because they enjoy the fashion sense of a group. Just because someone looks a specific way does not mean that it is okay to ridicule them in a manner that makes them uncomfortable. It is okay for someone to dress or look how they desire, but what is not okay is for them to be made fun of for what they like and enjoy. When someone thinks of the word Emo, many different visuals appear in their mind. Most people usually imagine a tall, slender, teenage male dressed in all black clothes with long, black hair. In the article, What is emo? Why Emo? , the author describes them as, The fashion was simple: black tight clothing with a dash of color thrown in their elbow length gloves or poetry covered converse. There were the side bangs that produced what my friends in high school called the Cyclops look because it covered one eye. And to follow up on the low self esteem, being thin was an obsession. • 22. Responsibility And Entitlement In The Movie Starship Troopers Entitlement. It seems that every American youth believes that they are entitled to call themselves an American. They believe just since they were born in America they hold the right to call themselves Americans. I believe however, that the right of citizenship must be earned. I believe such is true after watching, the movie Starship Troopers. In this sci fi movie people are given the choice to become a citizen by serving two years in the Federal Service. This does not imply military occupations, but instead offers a wide variety of different jobs. Civilians (non citizens) must serve a two year minimum service to their country to receive the right to vote, but once they have finished the service they receive pretty nice benefits. In modern America I believe this can be accomplished with a minimum of 1 year of national mandatory service. When people hear mandatory service they instantly believe that they will have to serve in the military, but they are wrong. Just this year alone, 5.78 million jobs will go unfilled in America, and almost all of those are outside of the military. Though in the Movie Starship troopers the military is the most glorified (and so it should be in modern America), they do not fail to mention how there are many other government jobs that people could fill, and all the while they are making their nation a stronger place. • 23. Catcalling And Social Media Street harassment, also know as catcalling, is an action that I hate the most. Street harassment is unwanted sayings or gestures that are targeted toward someone in specific based on sexual orientation or gender, and in this case, women. Catcalling can be verbal such as compliments, like, hey, baby. Catcalling can be physical, like groping a part of the body, and it can also be sexual remarks. When I see street harassment on social media, like in a picture or a video, I feel uncomfortable, so I can t even imagine how some women feel when they have inappropriate comments thrown at them constantly. I think catcalling is the dumbest thing that anyone could have possibly thought of. Women don t deserve to get harassed on the street. We want to get from point A to point B without any interruptions, unless it s with our consent and if it s a friend whom consent was given to. If I have to get stopped on the street for a gross man to comment on my butt or follow me, it is not going to be a very good day. Most women I know, do not enjoy the act of being catcalled, however, research from ILR ( Street Harassment Statistics ) and Hollaback!, a non profit organization, showed that only 3%, out of 4,900 participants in the survey under the age of 40, has found street harassment flattering. In addition, in chapter 6 of Burton, she is discussing genealogy or the history of how X or Y came to be, was shaped, emerged (Burton, pg. 73). In other words, Burton contextualizes genealogy by defining it as a backstory. In chapter 4 of Olstein, he notes early in the chapter, that comparative history has been on the defense since its institutionalization (Olstein, pg. 83). This demonstrates that this is a highly contested historical methodology that is yet to be widely accepted by historians. Aluminum will hold up well in climates that have a lot of rain, since the material will not corrode like other types of metal roofing. You can purchase the material in shingles or sheets, which are usually painted after they are installed to improve the overall aesthetics of the roofing material. This will require additional maintenance over the years to give the material another coat of paint. The Greek philosopher Aristotle believed that effective speakers use three kinds of appeals to make their arguments convincing; ethos, the credibility of the speaker, logos, the speaker s actual message, and pathos, or the emotional appeal the speaker arises in its audience. These rhetorical appeals are present in many aspects of everyday life, including in websites. Websites such as the El Paso Zoological Society use these three appeals to effectively communicate with those who visit their page. The El Paso Zoo address is 4001 E. Paisano El Paso, TX, 79905. ... • 38. Metastasis Term Paper Metastasis is a hallmark of caner and leading to reduced survival rates of cancer patients. The ability of a cancer cell to undergo migration and invasion allows it to change position within the tissues. Metastasis consists of five steps which are termed the metastatic cascade (Fig. 1). These five steps of cascade are invasion and migration, intravastion, circulation, extravasation, Colonization, proliferation and angiogenesis. Various cellular processes like de regulated cell growth, loss of cell cell adhesion, migration through the underlying interstitial stroma, altered survival signaling which support metastatic spread, therapy resistance and unrestricted tumor growth, facilitate these five step of metastatic cascade. The factors limiting the growth of malignant neoplasm include the basal membrane and various components of the surrounding stroma, increased interstitial pressure, limited oxygen supply to tumor cells and the formation of active oxygen forms, hypoxia conditions, and permanent exposure to immune system cells. Given the intra tumoral heterogeneity, in the struggle for survival, some tumor cells may be subjected to regression and death, while other cells, which resist powerful, counteracting micro environmental factors, gain an aggressive phenotype and the ability of metastatic progression. Invasive tumor growth is enabled by the detachment of malignant cells from the tumor mass due to a reduction in or complete loss of intercellular adhesion molecules, and, therefore, the cells gain the ability of anomalously high motility enabling penetration through the stiff structural elements of the surrouss means the ability to thrust aside adjacent tissues, and also to actively invade and, therefore, destroy these ... • 39. Water Is Essential For Any Plants In order for any plants to grow you need water. Water is essential for any and all life to be sustainable. Water itself is made up of hydrogen and oxygen. This happens through chemical processes in which two hydrogen atoms combine with one oxygen atom in order to fulfill a complete outer energy shell. When the process is completed water is formed. Water is found all around you. It s in lakes, river, streams, oceans and even in canals. Water makes up 70% of the world. 2% of it is frozen at the poles in glaciers. Although it s most of the world, not all of the water is drinkable. Roughly 3% of earth s water is fresh water and drinkable. Through scientific research, a person can only go two days without drinking or consuming any water before they die. Water also keeps kidneys functioning and working properly. Photosynthesis is what plants use to create their food, and water is crucial to this process. Water comes through plant s stems and travels up to its leaves, which is where photosynthesis actually takes place. Once in the leaves water evaporates, as the plant exchanges water for carbon dioxide. This glucose can be converted into pyruvate which releases adenosine triphosphate by cellular respiration. Sunlight is earth s most valuable light source. Without the sun earth wouldn t have plants and the earth s temperature would be below zero in under a week. If the sun would miraculously go out, it would take eight and a half minutes to reach earth. Within nine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Abortion Is Not A New Idea According to Merriam Webster s Dictionary abortion is, the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus. Abortion is not a new idea, that is only understood in America. It is a procedure that has taken place worldwide for centuries. There is much debate over this topic because everyone has their own opinion of the idea. Some believe it should be banned forever and in all circumstances and others believe that abortion should be allowed and socially acceptable. Abortion in the United States of America has especially been a hot topic issue. This also means that only the people that in all reality, could afford the child they are attempting to abort, could pay for a doctor proficient enough to do the procedure safely. Before abortions were legalized, in the 1920 s and 1930 s, groups of people trying to make birth control more accessible to women, which was highly opposed by the Roman Catholic church (Garrow 835). This shows that people only see the value of a woman by what she creates and carries in her body, because if people do not want birth control to be accessible to women, they only want them around to carry children. Years went by without much luck on the goal of legalizing abortion, for the safety of the mothers or the mothers well being in general. Until Roe v. Wade. It is a common misconception that Roe v. Wade was the only court case revolving around abortion occurring at this time, but realistically, there were dozens. With that being said, it is without a doubt that it was not a fluke. It was not by chance that the passing of this court case was a one time scenario. If Roe v. Wade had not occurred, there would have been any of the other cases similar to Roe v. Wade that would have taken its place in the Supreme court in 1973, when the case was officially votes on and passed, which allowed women to have an abortion and be in relative privacy if she chose to do so (Garrow 836). This is a revolutionary court case in American history ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s Time to Put an End to Corporal Punishment in Schools Seven countries Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Italy and Cyprus have laws making it illegal for parents to use physical punishment on their children. Corporal punishment in schools has been banned in all the countries in Europe, South and Central America, China and Japan. The United States has outlawed corporal punishment from our prisons as cruel and inhumane treatment, as well as wife beating, once thought to be the right of a husband. Why don t we afford the same protection to our children? Our culture sanctions the use of corporal or physical punishment as a way for parents to discipline their children. Just a few weeks ago Marvin Munyon, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It doesn t teach them self control or ways to change their behavior other than not getting caught misbehaving. One of the ways kids learn is by watching and mimicking the world around them, especially their parents. They are quick to learn when words and actions don t coincide, for example, when a parent spanks a child because the child hits someone else. Being a parent is not an easy job and it takes time and patience to discipline children. After a year of implementing a specific discipline for my daughter s temper tantrums, I witnessed my daughter exercise self control at the age of three. Temper tantrums were her specialty. When my daughter flew out of control I would put her in her room until she calmed down. Then she was allowed to rejoin the family and finish the task she was asked to do, or apologize depending on the circumstances. In this particular instance, when my daughter got angry she picked up her blanket and stomped upstairs crying without me saying a word other than she couldn t play her musical instruments in the same room while her sister was watching television. She stayed upstairs for about ten minutes. After that, she came downstairs and proceeded to play quietly. I sat there in utter amazement! She had disciplined herself. To discipline a child we must first consider the problem and why the child is misbehaving. Are we expecting too much from the child at their age? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For instance, SDO and RWA hold negative attitudes toward working women especially who seek out hierarchy favoring positions (Altemeyer, 1998; Ekehammar, Akrami Araya, 2000; Sidanius, Pratto, Bobo, 1996) and negative racial attitudes in the organization (Altemeyer, 1998; Lambert Chasteen, 1997).
