Nursing Team Essay
Nurses play a major role in healthcare teams today; their responsibilities are more involved than most
others within the healthcare team. Patients have more hands on time with nurses, giving more
opportunity for mistakes. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) in 2001 set out to make healthcare
improvements stated in a report, Crossing the Quality Chasm: A New Health System for the 21st
Century. The IOM lists six aims for improvement that they believe each healthcare member should
adopt and implement. (Cherry, 2008, p.381) The six aims of quality healthcare improvement include
safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient centered. Another issue brought forward by the
Joint Commission (JC) is the 2016 National Patient Safety Goals ... Show more content on

The campaign would emphasize the six aims acronym, STEEEP , and the seven patient safety goals
for hospitals on posters in every room. (Cherry, 2008, p.381) This serves as a constant reminder to all
healthcare employees the importance and regularity that should be taken. Secondly, quarterly training
meetings would add specific training for nursing staff in regards to safety. Within these pieces of
trainings, nursing staff will learn how to implement the six aims acronym, STEEEP, into their daily
routines. S safe, nurses shall prevent patient injuries. T timely, nurses shall reduce the wait time for
patients that could be considered in a critical state. E effective, nurses shall only perform services to a
patient that have are science based. E efficient, nurses shall prevent wastefulness in regards to
supplies, equipment, and energy. E equitable, nurses shall treat all patients with no discrimination;
every patient is treated with equal quality care. And, P patient centered, nurses shall always put the
concerns of the patient first, and be considerate towards their individual beliefs, values, and
preferences. (Cherry, 2008, p.381 382) During the training, they will discuss the seven patient safety

In The Suburbs Of LA Essay
In the suburbs of LA. What he saw when he turned into his own unpaved puddled driveway was a
decrepit house, crooked and unfinished with many different types of old bricks and a plastic tarp
lining the roof from the destructive storm. As he walks into the house that looks like it is going to fall
down into a pile of rubble and dust, all you see is the stepladder, the unfinished kitchen shelves,
exposed stairs and warm wood. Everything in his view ought to be white, had been white long ago,
and had lost its lustre and was faded and yellow. The candlelight was flickering like a small child
drowning wildly and scared. The floor creaks like a weeping willow in the wind. The doors were
falling off their hinges like trees without roots. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Gordon is. They are all dressed in black suits and the women are wearing black skirts. I spotted a
young girl with mascara falling down the corner of her eyes with the others having glum faces and a
soba look on their faces. He is confused and does not know who gordon is, as he walked into the room
next to him the is a painting of someone. The painting looks fermelia, as he catches a glimpse of
himself in the mirror next to him. Then he realises that is him and gordon is his name. So he walked
back into the room with the people and starts to talk to them, they don t respond or take any notice of
him. Then he tries to grab one of them as the woman walked past but as he lunges he misses. They
keep on talking about how Gordon and why he was such a great guy. So he walks closer to one of the
tables with a brochure on it and it says gordon 1991 2017. Then he remembers as he opens the door to
the unexpected person at the door, and how when they walked past him he saw what the house looked
like when he was alive. He gaspes in fright as he comes to the reality he is in a time look and cant

Suburban Creative Writing
From a distance, all you could here was the subtle noise of people screaming. The wind was blowing
slightly and there was a light sprinkle in the air, but the weather wasn t stopping these people. As the
hollering slowly quiets down, a group of five or six friends walk out of the arena laughing and talking
amongst each other, having the time of their lives at their favorite singers concert. They stood and chit
chatted outside of the gates of the arena for what felt like hours, until the light sprinkle turned into a
downpour. The teenagers then quickly ran to their suburban that seemed to be miles and miles down
the parking lot. Their suburban was the last vehicle in the parking lot. As they were running Jenny
yelled I call shotgun! as the rest of the group groaned in between runs. Once they reached the car, one
by one they piled in. They playfully yelled at Jackson, the driver, to start the car already so they could
turn on the heater because they were all wet and freezing to death as Dustin would say. Once they all
got into the car, it quickly heated up from all of the huffing and puffing from all of the out of shape
teenagers running through the parking lot and the heat blowing out through the rented car s vents, on

Communist Party And Its Muslim Minorities
On September 23rd 2014, China found the prominent Uyghur scholar Ilham Tohti guilty of separatism
and sentenced him to life in prison. This ruling came as a shock to the international community, for he
has been the foremost advocate of peacefully resolving Uyghur ethnic unrest in China. Ilham Tohti is
an ethnically Uyghur economist, professor, writer, and public intellectual who has been spearheading
the vanguard of cultivating mutual understanding and respect amongst Han and Uyghur Chinese. He
has been steadfast on working within the system to finding a solution that will be mutually beneficial
for the Communist Party and the Uyghur ethnic minorities in Xinjiang, home to many of China s
ethnic Turkic Muslims. Even in the face of adversity, he has been outspoken and quick to criticize the
missteps of the Communist Party s governance and policies towards Xinjiang province and its Muslim
minorities. Due to that, the CCP views him as a threat, rather than a solution, to the extreme affairs of
episodic ethnic and political unrest in Xinjiang. With the growing resentment from the Uyghur
populous towards government s policies, the tensions in the Xinjiang region between Muslim Uyghur
minorities and Han Chinese have escalated to waves of terrorist attacks around China, with the recent
stabbing in Kunming, being dubbed as China s 9/11 . In response, the CCP has imposed a more
oppressive campaign to crackdown on the separatists and stabilize the region. In this plight,

William Shakespeare s Othello And Racial Interactions...
New York City is the biggest, most international, multi racial and cultural difference city in the world.
It is common for the New Yorkers to interact with people visiting from all over the world. The racial
differences seem not to matter to anyone in New York. The book Othello show similarities to racial
interactions with the ones from New York City. However, looking closer at the play, Othello , seem to
show us many interesting aspects of cultural differences. It seems that not only, racial and cultural
differences were unconventional, but also unnatural .
As an illustration, within first act of Othello , Roderigo and Iago encounter Brabanito and make many
_not nice__ remarks towards the relationship between Brabanito s daughter and Othello. Iago says (...)
an old black ram is tupping your white ewe. (P.30), suggesting that the black ram is Othello, and the
white ewe is Desdemona. The first aspect of that quote is that a black ram, meaning black person
(Othello) shouldn t be tapping, meaning reproduce (having sex) with a white ewe, a white person
(Desdemona). Iago suggests that Othello s relationship is not only unconventional to the society in
those times, but also unnatural . Iago tries to explain that Othello s and Desdemona s relationship in
unnatural because, as he states in the previous citation, a black ram and a white ewe shouldn t be
interacting with each other. Another supportive line that Iago used to underline the racial difference,

Test Essay on International Competitiveness
Stephen Berkowitz Economics Unit 4 Test Essay International Competitiveness Question 3 June 2010:
3 (a) The UK fell from 9th to 12th place in the Global Competitiveness Index between 2007 and 2008.
Examine the factors which might have caused the decrease in the international competitiveness of the
UK s goods and services (20) A country s international competitiveness in output markets is a measure
of its ability to increase the sales of its goods and services in both its domestic markets and overseas
markets compared to that of its trading rivals. I will be looking at the aspects of this that are price
competitive. The first factor I ll look at is the real exchange rate and effective exchange rate. The real
exchange rate is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By simply pushing up total operating costs for businesses this will then damage international price
competitiveness. The is exacerbated by compliance costs such as health and safety regulations,
environmental regulations, and employment protection laws, that all reduce international price

improve the competitiveness of the UK s goods and services (30) To improve the international
competitiveness of the UK s goods and services, I ll be looking at supply side policies, exchange rate
policies, and policies that promote stability. Supply side policies aim to achieve an outward shift in the
LRAS curve by increasing the quantity and improving the quality of factor inputs. The first supply
side policy I lll be looking at is a reduction in taxes for businesses. What corporation tax cuts will
result in is less money spent on tax, allowing more money to be available for firms to spend on
investment spending. The reduction of tax will only be useful in the extra money is spent in this way,
as the government will benefit in the long run from the decrease of money gained in the short run if
the LRAS curve shifts to the write. Reducing tax may also increase foreign direct investment spending
by other countries in the UK. With greater capital goods, labour productivity will increase by

The Characters Of Sita In The Rishi, Valmiki s Ramayana
In the epic, Ramayana, by the Rishi (sage) Valmiki, Sita is the epitome of what an ideal woman should
be, as she is the ideal wife for Rama, the hero. Sita takes care of her husband and listens to his words,
despite situations that would cause others to speak out. As the ideal wife, Sita does not complain to her
husband when he does not trust her, and she sacrifices herself to prove to him the truth. Sita says My
trials are not ended yet... I thought with your victory all our troubles were at an end! . . . O Agni, great
god of fire, be my witness. She jumped into the fire (Narayan). As the ideal wife for the hero, Rama,
Sita displays as a docile individual who lacks a say in her relationship with her husband. She
possesses the characteristics of a feminine individual, which according to Merriam Webster dictionary
is the qualities or appearance traditionally associated with women, especially delicacy and prettiness
(Merriam Webster.com). Sita is a necessary character in the epic needed to display these feminine
characteristics and traits. However, if comparing how important Sita is in the epic, she is secondary to
Rama, showing a stark difference where they stand.
When reading Ramayana, gender is a significant factor that shapes the personas of the characters.
Gender is also a significant factor that indicates their level of importance in the epic. However, gender
is not only a significant factor that defines an individual in epics, stories, myths or fairy tales. The
reality is gender is a prevalent topic in every society, this aspect allows individuals to identify
themselves to others. Gender refers to the socially and culturally constructed roles, privileges and
relations of women, men, girls, and boys (Tadria). Gender creates a certain standard or expectation for
individuals depending on their gender.
In the epic, Mahabharata, there is a story that one can use to display the different standards that occur.
In the story, Draupadi, the five Pandavas brothers: Yudhistra, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva,
bring home a boon to their mother. This boon was won by Arjuna at a ceremony, however, this was no
ordinary boon, it was a woman. This was a marriage ceremony for the king s daughter,

Inventing Historical Truth On The Silver Screen Analysis
When viewing films of the past, we then form a counter discourse because we can compare it to
modern day views and beliefs. The article, Inventing Historical Truth on the Silver Screen, by Robert
Rosenstone, explains having a current perspective on history and how we interpret it. Written
historical documents can only be backed up by truth so far. These films Amistad, 1776, and The Black
Robe, can help form ideas of what might have happened, but that is what they are used for, to help
mold and shape historical events to the present day.
It is clear and obvious that slavery is wrong and never should have happened, but certain people
decided differently. Of course we do not obtain video footage of such historical event and go off of
verbal and written documentation, but the movie Amistad, goes into detail about how the slaves were
treated. It was inhumane and they were treated worse than animals. They were captured, traded in
from their own people, beaten, killed, raped, separated from families, forced to work and do things no
one should ever have to go through. But for public purposes, it did not show everything they went
through. The movie definitely softens certain clips for the reason of who might watch the film and for
what they would be allowed to film and produce. A few examples would be when the shipmen were
softly kissing on the women slaves on the boat, how the movie portrayed the selling of slaves, and
how Baldwin received one swat on his head and a few death letters. ... Show more content on

Stereotyping And The American Cinema
Stereotyping Arabs in Hollywood Stereotyping is a very common tool used by film makers because it
is a simple way of establishing a trait of a character in a movie but it provides a single sided portrait of
certain people based on their sex, gender, religion, race or age. As an example the way Arabs,
particularly Palestinians, are portrayed in cinema. The American cinema has painted a picture full of
misconceptions about them and created a stereotype that has been exacerbated in many movies since
the dawn of hollywood. Because Cinema is a powerful tool that manipulates and reshapes the thoughts
of audiences by making spectators passively consume all presented material, it made it easy to
manipulate the minds of people to serve a political agenda mainly the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Jack
Valenti a former president and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America had said:
Washington and Hollywood spring from the same DNA . Since the founding of Israel in 1948, every
American administration has made it clear which side it is on. On the other hand, it failed to support
the millions of Palestinians who are loosing their homes, their lands, and their lives to the occupation.
In the contrary, they have always been projected as the evil that wants death to Israel and America.
And that is where cinema comes in, it goes to reinforce that image in the minds of people so they are
less compassionate and sympathetic to the palestinian people as Israel is expanding in

Ariana Grande s Song You Don T Know Me
Art can be expressed in many different forms. Such as paintings, literature, dance, photography, and
music. The purpose of art is to convey stories to an audience. An example of this would be Ariana
Grande s song, You Don t Know Me . In this song, Ariana is telling the story of how people are
judging her based off of what is said about her in the media, instead of getting to know her for
themselves. Art can be interpreted in different mediums. I decided to use the different principles and
elements of art such as emphasis, focal point, color, variety, pattern, rhythm, positive shapes, and
contrast in order to recreate the story that Ariana is singing about in her song. In my composition, I am
telling the story of a two girls. First, I drew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my piece, I used the repetition of the shapes of lines and colors to create a pattern. This pattern of
alternating colors created an alternating rhythm in my artwork. I received inspiration for this rhythm
from the alternating rhythm in the song. Grande s Song starts off with heavy bass and is loud, but
transitions into a softer and slower rhythm. Throughout the song they rotate. In my composition, I
recreated this alternating rhythm by the way I had my lines start from the bottom corner on the right
side, but on the opposite side I started my lines from the top corner. The alternating colors and lines on
both sides create their own rhythms which coexist to form a complex, alternating rhythm in the
design. Using the colored lines I made a positive shape inside of my artwork. The outline of my figure
s body is the positive shape because it appears to be in the front of the composition. I made the girl a
positive shape because instead of coloring her in I left her colorless. The figure also creates a contrast
in my artwork. The plain, whiteness of the figure creates a contrast with the colorful lines next to it. In
conclusion, I used the different principles and elements of art to convey the story from Ariana Grande
s song, You Don t Know Me . Using emphasis, focal point, color, variety, pattern, rhythm, positive
shapes, and contrast to communicate the theme of the story is saying that people

Masculine Portrayals In The Roaring Girl And Tamburlaine
Toxic Masculine Portrayals in The Roaring Girl and Tamburlaine The portrayals of men in
Renaissance literature and plays is wrought with various aspects of toxic masculinity. Masculinity in
works such as Tamburlaine the Great or The Roaring Girl is shown in different ways and with varying
degrees of spectacle. Tamburlaine displays his masculinity through hyper violent acts and high
degrees of spectacle, whereas characters such as Laxton and Dapper flaunt their masculinity in
different, less violently spectacular means, however, they still participate in embodying the toxic
masculine ideal. Understanding masculinity and how it is defined at the time is important to grasping
why the portrayals of it in various works involve the aspects that they do. Masculinity as it exists now
is a fluid concept, yet in the past leading up the Renaissance it was treated as a rigid set of rules that
men must uphold to be perceived as masculine and in turn make headway in a patriarchal society.
Ideas about masculinity and femininity are beginning to be questioned more during the Renaissance in
interesting ways, especially when these ideas are presented in the world of the theatre. Men in this
time period are expected to be the backbone of their households and held up as a woman s closet tie to
God, right below their clergymen. These expectations come with backlash. With the expectation of
men to be the protectors and providers of their households and out in the world at large, violence,

Characteristics Of Catholicism And Christianity
Christianity is the most widely followed religion among the world s population with approximately
2.3 billion followers, half of which are Roman Catholics (Liu). As a result of this widespread
popularity, there is a unique and specific subculture that distinguishes this religion from others. As a
lifelong member of Catholicism myself, I wanted to delve further into the cultural aspect of this
religion and the unambiguous traits. Culture is defined by the shared norms, beliefs, and values within
a group. Catholicism is no exception and is an established subculture with specific characteristics,
material culture, hierarchical organization and other aspects that make it very distinctive. A subculture
is ...defined as the groups united by sets of concepts, values, symbols, and shared meaning specific to
the members of that group (Conley p.85). Catholicism corresponds with this definition because the
religion and its members are united by similar cultural characteristics including both material and non
material culture. The followers of this religion are unified by these cultural characteristics that are
specific to Catholicism. The non material cultural characteristics that define Catholicism as a
subculture are the shared values between members. In general, individuals of Catholic faith are family
oriented. Familial values are of the utmost importance in the Catholic faith whether it be faithfulness
through marriage or through socializing children to have similar values. In

Harkness Reflection
I was sitting around the Harkness table clueless of what to say as my peers were leading the
conversation. It was the first day of class and we were already trying out the Harkness discussion
method. All 14 students in my class, as well as the teacher were seated around the oval, wooden table.
The Harkness discussion is a learning method originated in Phillips Exeter Academy to discuss ideas
and topics in a environment where everyone is encouraged to participate. It is a student led, open
minded discussion with minimal interaction from the teacher.
During the Phillips Exeter Academy 5 week summer course, Project Exeter: A Greener Earth , this
course focuses on 3 areas: Why Art?, Alternative Energy Sources, and Advocating Change.
Throughout the course, all of my classes required the Harkness discussion. I thought that it was
extremely challenging to have the Harkness discussion as the learning method is totally different to
what we do in school, where we would just listen to the teacher and raise your hands to participate. In
the Harkness discussion, we don t need the teacher s permission to talk, we don t have to raise our

Limitations Of Peribulbar Anesthesia
Discussion With an examination of the acquired results from the study, we can notice that the quality
of globe akinesia in the 10th minute in the rocuronium group was comparatively better, and 86% of
the patients underwent the total akinesia; whereas, the percentage of the total akinesia for the
cisatracurium group and the control group in 10th minute was 73% and 66% respectively (p value
0.444).
Peribulbar anesthesia is widely used for cataract surgery. This method is associated with less serious
complications compared to intravenous anesthesia (8) However, it has the disadvantage of a slow
onset of orbital akinesia (9) and the frequent need for a block supplement. (10) To overcome these
limitations, many adjuvant drugs have been added to the local anesthetic mixture used for the
peribulbar block to increase its efficacy and accelerate its initial rate; their effects, however, were
different. (11, 12, 13)
In retrobulbar approach, a needle is inserted into the intraconal space, a space behind the eye formed
by the extraocular muscles, containing the major nerves of the eye and its adnexa. Therefore, it may be
associated with potentially serious eye damage such as: a scleral perforation, a stimulation of the
oculocardial reflex and an injection of an anesthetic in the perioptic meningeal space. However, this
approach may have the advantage of rapid onset of analgesia and akinesia with the use of relatively
smaller volumes of anesthetic. (14) (15) In addition to commonly observed conjunctival edema, a
higher initial IOP is accompanied by the higher volume of the anesthetic agent (16), also the need for
additional injection is higher for peribulbar block compared to retrobulbar block (14).
Neuromuscular blockers have been used as adjuvants for many trials. Reah et al. added a dose of 0.5
mg vecuronium to a mixture of lidocaine and bupivacaine with 15 IU / mL hyaluronidase. (6) In the
study of kucukyavuz et al. Atracurium 5 mg was added to the same anesthetic mixture without
hyaluronidase. (5) The siege of Peribulbar was carried out in these two studies using a technique of 2
injections (Infertembporal and medial orbital). Y.Aissaouit et al. added 0.06 mg / kg of rocuronium to

The Gig Is Up by Nathan Heller is a lengthy article that appeared in The New Yorker, an American
magazine. In his article, Heller explains that more and more people are relying on a gig economy as
their source of income. He focuses on the millennials more than any other generation because they
seem to rely on this economy more. Although gigging can make life a lot more simple, Heller leaves
his audience with a lingering question. Can they survive it? He sets the stage for his audience by
telling a personal experience of his. He moved into an apartment but minor tasks such as hanging
picture frames and artwork had yet to be finished. When the incompletion of tasks became
overwhelming he found an online source, TaskRabbit, and hired someone to complete the tasks for

economy is such a lonely economy (Heller 63). Not only does the excerpt appeal to ethos but also
pathos. The strategies used throughout the article make the audience think about the opportunities the
gig economy provides but also the problems it can create as well. Highly educated people like Seth
Flickers who are a part of this economy are now more than ever before, aware of the careers that they

It is not commonly known that the Mafia invested in the Stonewall Inn in 1966, turning it into a gay
bar. Located at 51 and 53 Christopher Street, the Stonewall Inn was owned by the Genovese crime
family. In 1966, three members of the Mafia invested $3,500 to turn the Stonewall Inn into a gay bar.
Previously, it served as a typical nightclub and restaurant for heterosexuals. Like many things the
mafia was involved in, much of the legality and dealings were under the table. Once a week, a police
officer would come collect envelopes full of cash as payoffs. The Stonewall Inn also had no liquor
license (due to the SLA refusing to grant gay bars the necessary license), no running water behind the
bar and no fire exits. Used bar glasses were ran through large tubs of water and then reused. The bar
was supposedly not used for any illegal transactions. Thigs such as prostitution or drug deals were
prohibited. This was simply a place for gay men in New York City to dance. There were virtually no
places in the city where gay men could do so. This led to be The Stonewalls re opening as a gay club.
Like all gay bar s in New York, police raids were very common. The raids were a police crackdown on
bars operating without a liquor license. Although the police raids were legally justified, the gay
community had grown weary of the police targeting gay clubs and bars. Many of these establishments
had already been shut down. Like many of the gay bars and

Perso-Islamic Synthesis Essay
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the Islamization of Persia in relation to the Samanid and Buyid
Dynasties. The synthesis of Persian culture and Islam was not an immediate result of the Arab
expansion into Iran and there is certainly a lack of research on the subject. However, in this essay, I
will attempt to explain the contributions of the Samanid and Buyid dynasties to this synthesis with a
focus on the attempts of the Samanid Dynasty at centralization and a unified identity through religion,
language and culture.
The Islamization of Iran occurred as a result of the Arab conquest of Persia. The institution of a new
culture, especially if the new culture is being installed by one less organized or less capable than the

This period marked significant changes for Persia since there was a large movement of immigration
directed towards the region from the Arabian Peninsula.
After Persia was conquered, the people began to convert to Islam and landowners gave their properties
to Islam and were granted even more land as a result of the conversion. Further, the Zoroastrians were
in fact the ones most enraged by the conversion to Islam as they were involved in occupations that
involved impurities such as working with fire, etc. Missionaries did not really encounter much
opposition as it became quite easy to convert the Persians into Islam alluding to the fact that there
were already many similarities and that transforming, or converting, was really not such a hard task.
Muslim leaders would also win conversions by attending public Muslim prayers, promising money
and allowing for the Qur an to be recited in Persian and not Arabic, so that all could understand what
the Qur an was really trying to say. The Samanids, who were originally based in the Zoroastrian
nobility, started their own conversion process encouraging people become Sunni Muslims. In fact,
during the reign of the Samanids in the 9th century, the Qur an was translated into Persian completely.
The Buyid Dynasty
The Buyid Dynasty, originated from the Daylam in Galian, is considered the Shi ite Persian dynasty.
They controlled most of Iran and Iraq during the 10th and 11th century. The

Bereavement Role, Disenfranchised Grief, And Mourning
Bereavement Role, Disenfranchised Grief, and Mourning
Laurel Ellzey
Denver School of Nursing
Abstract
Death is a part of life and eventually everyone on this earth will experience it. Nurses play an
important role in death. Mourning the death of a loved one is something that almost everyone will
experience in this lifetime because it is a natural response to death. Bereavement, grief and mourning
are all effected by one s culture, religion, the relationship with the deceased, personality, and how the
person died.
Bereavement Role
Nurses have a difficult yet unique role when it comes to bereavement. Nurses spend the most time
with patients, so they are most often the ones that patients choose to share their concerns, fears, and
grief with. According to Corr Coolican, (2010), bereavement is the term used when someone
significant is lost through death. According to Read (2002), nurses can help the bereaved by
acknowledging the death, using active listening, helping them to express their emotions and ensuring
that they are involved in the dying process. I am currently doing my senior capstone clinical rotation
at a jail and even though I haven t had to deal with any patient deaths so far, the patients that I deal
with are essentially experiencing a loss. To some of the inmates, being imprisoned is like losing a
loved one because they are cut off from the world and feel like their life is over. Even

John Walker Case Summary
The second probe concerned allegations of coordination between the Walker campaign and several pro
Walker political action committees during his recall election in 2012. After exhaustive legal battles at
several levels of the state court system the Wisconsin Supreme Court, in a sweeping decision, ruled
the Walker campaign had not violated any campaign finance laws. Importantly, a lower court had
previously determined that no laws were violated even if Walker s campaign and the groups had
worked together. Walker, along with fellow republican, chose to denounce the second John Doe probe
as without merit and politically motivated: They were looking for just about anything. As I pointed out
at the time, it was largely a political witch hunt. Court documents released as a ... Show more content

Regardless of Walker s decision making process, the Governor should ve been able to develop a
policy avenue that minimizes conflicts of interest while also achieve his desired goals. If Walker had a
legitimate and dutiful motive for carrying out the changes to the campaign finance, ethics, and John
Doe investigatory standards, then the governor should have taken additional steps to insulate himself
from the policy changes. For example, the Governor could have postponed the rule changes until the
end of his political career (final term), thereby removing the perceived incentive to position himself
against future ethics violations. While it is impossible to address the ethical implications of the policy
change itself, the ethically dubious manner in which the two matters were passed. Because it is
difficult to wholly understand the motive for these changes, given the nuances of the political system,
any suggestions posed in this paper must be limited to the Goerner s decision to spearhead the shifts in
policy. Similarly, it would be interesting to make a determination of ethicality in the actions of the

Using Medical Record Systems And How Electronically Stored...
2. Describe 4 limitations to traditional (paper based) medical record systems and discuss how
electronically stored data can overcome each limitation. Pg 50. a) Pragmatic and logistical issues: Can
I find the data when I need them? Can I find the medical record in which they are recorded? Can I find
the data within the record? Can I find what I need quickly? Can I read and interpret the data once I

When a chart is unavailable, the health care professional still must provide patient care. Thus,
providers make do without past data, basing their decisions instead on what the patient can tell them
and on what their examination reveals. They then write a note for inclusion in the chart when the chart
is located. In a large institution with thousands of medical records, it is not surprising that such loose
notes often fail to make it to the patient s chart or are filed out of sequence so that the actual
chronology of management is disrupted in the record. When patients who have chronic or frequent
diseases are seen over months or years, their records grow so large that the charts must be broken up
into multiple volumes. When a hospital clinic or emergency room orders the patient s chart, only the
most recent volume typically is provided. Old but pertinent data may be in early volumes that are
stored offsite or are otherwise unavailable. Alternatively, an early volume may be mistaken for the
most recent volume, misleading its users and resulting in documents being inserted out of sequence.pg

Feminism In Wonder Woman
Who doesn t love a good superhero? The perfect figure, the spandex suit, the flowing cape, flawless
looks, and the powers we can only dream of having. Superheroes have been around for ages now,
leaving an everlasting imprint on our hearts. It is no secret that males dominate the superhero industry;
both the heroes themselves and those who create them. Superman, Batman, Ironman, and Spiderman
have become the top heroes of all time; there is nothing wrong with them holding the spotlight, but
female heroes are underrepresented. There are notable female heroes, but they tend to be drawn with a
busty figure that few women are naturally blessed with, and show little emotional rational in fights.
Take Black Widow (Marvel) for example, anyone would love for her figure and kick ass moves.
Wonder Woman is our hero of the hour, she has made her way onto the big screen; casting her into the
spotlight more than ever. She screams fights for love, promotes peace, is a beacon of hope, and
screams feminism. What s not to love? The new movie released on June 2, 2017, has called more
attention to the American spirited, Amazonian woman than ever before. The movie is the first fully
female directed movie, Patty Jenkins brings a great female to the big screen. Although the movie is
great and supports feminism, is the movie the depiction of Wonder Woman that should be idealized?

Difference Between Foundationalism And Coherentism
1. What is the traditional understanding of knowledge? Explain two theories of truth. What is the
difference between foundationalism and coherentism? What is knowledge? What does knowledge
mean and how does a person get to know something? And taking the step further than that how does a
person know that the something is true? What is the basis for knowledge? There are two main forms
of knowledge; a priori and empirical. A priori is knowledge that is independent from a person s
experience and can be proven to be true by simple logic or basic definition of what is being stated. For
example 2+2=4 is considered a priori type of knowledge because it can be proven true by using the
mechanics of mathematics. The other type of knowledge is knowledge that can not be true without a
personal experience to give justification to why it is true, this knowledge is called empirical
knowledge. Empirical knowledge is much harder to prove to be true just by the nature of where the
justification comes from. An example of this is that the writing is in blue ink the statement can only be
true if I had seen for myself that the writing was done in blue ink because by definition writing does
not have to be in blue ink. To solve this problem, Plato would say that knowledge is a justified true
belief and gives us specific steps to work through this problem. This means the person making the
claim must be able to justify it in someway. The claim in itself must be true. And the person must
believe

Implementation Of Evidence Based Practices
Evidence based practices like bedside reports have reduced the number of patient calls during changes
of shift. Hence scholarly discovery not only helps with present issues, but also helps in assessing
future needs to meet the strategic goals of an organization. Implementation of report by the method
known as SBAR (Situation Background Assessment Recommendation) is another example of the
integration of knowledge in practice in this acute care hospital in north Texas. Nursing is a practice
and the pursuit of knowledge and understanding in nursing is inextricably linked to practice.

American in the 1980 s Essay
The 1980 s is one of the most interesting decades that was experienced in the United States. Dealing
with the stock market, the coming up of new inventions, all the way to the types of music people
listened to. During the 1980s, the only thing that made Americans be Americans was because of the
things they were provided with. Many Americans had fun throughout the 1980s with materialistic,
glamorous, and technological life styles; therefore there were different economical problems that
Americans faced.
During the 1980 s, many Americans were incredibly materialistic; they were only concerned with the
things in life, not with life as it was. In the musical world, Madonna was becoming popular. One of

There were many styles that people were able to work with. First off, one of the most common styles
was the retro style. Retro was, in a way, inspired by disco. Americans would often wear flares, which
were types of jeans where the legs got bigger and flared out towards the bottom of the foot
(CITATION, #). This proves that retro was just one of the major fashion statements in the 1980s.
Another style that Americans tried out was the Glamour style. This fashion included top of the line
designers like CoCo Chanel, Versace, and Oscar de la Renta. These designers made a significant
impact on the glamorous lifestyle. Glamorous was over the top, but in a fashionable or unique way
that people like to dress (CITATION, #). People would wear skirts with a huge puffball at the bottom
of it, or switch it up to a nice tight fitting pencil skirt. The economy was a huge factor. Obviously
people wanted the best of the best, but the economy was not doing that well (CITATION, #). There
were some bad things about the agriculture. Since the United States is just coming out of a recession,
they were working on rebuilding businesses in the city so they could expand their business and try to
earn back some of the money they lost. This proves that at this point in the 80s, life was not so
glamorous because people had to worry about earning back the assets that they lost along with
businesses. The farm economy was

Johannes Brahms Essays
Johannes Brahms was a German Composer, Pianist and conductor of the 19th century or the Romantic
period. He was one of the 3 B?s or the Big three: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. Johannes was a very
self critic man he burned many of his pieces before he could get anyone?s opinion on them and he
burned all of his compositions that he wrote before the age of 19.
Johannes Brahms was born on Tuesday 7th may 1833, in the city of Hamburg the birthplace also of
Mendelssohn. Johann Brahms was himself a musician, and played the double bass for a time at the
Karl Schultze Theatre, and later in the Stadttheater orchestra. In 1847 Johannes attended a good
Burgerschule (citizens? school), and in 1848 a better, that of one Hoffmann. When he was eight ...

When Johannes was in his tenth year he had made such remarkable progress that Cossel thought it
best to secure a more advanced instructor. He was thus put under the care of Eduard Marxsen (Cossel?
s own teacher), the royal music director at Altona, who took him unwillingly at first, but with whom
he remained for a number of years.
When he was eleven years of age Johannes made his first appearance as a pianist [at a private
subscription concert in which his father also took part, given with the idea of collecting funds for his
future education. He played the piano parts in a Mozart Quartet and in Beethoven?s Quintet for wind
instruments and piano, with such success that a speculative impresario wished to engage him for a
concert tour that was to take him as far as America.
About the age of twelve he came entirely under the tuition of Marxsen, who, finding him incorrigible
in his desire to improve compositions at the piano, soon began to teach him theory. But in order to be
able to continue these lessons, it was imperative that he should earn at least part of his keep at home,
where funds were always distressingly low, thus before he was fourteen he was obliged, for want of a
more congenial occupation, to play the piano at sailor?s taverns and dancing saloons, often very late at
night and always in a far from healthy atmosphere.
On his return to Hamburg he ventured, on 21st September 1848, to give a concert on his own account

Invertebrates In Alzheimer s Essay
Invertebrates in Alzheimer s
Recent medical advances, such as gaining the ability to observe closely the genetic makeup of an
individual, have led to the discovery that some invertebrates are somewhat genetically similar to
humans. Organisms like Caenorhabditis elegans, nematode worm, and Drosophila melanogaster, fruit
fly, appear to have genes similar to humans, where Alzheimer s disease genes are found. These
similarities will help researchers learn more about this relatively unknown disease and potentially save
human lives. The DNA of C. elegans and Drosophila can be used as models for studying the disease
and for testing new drugs to be used later on humans. These advances may lead to discoveries in
medicine that can save human lives in the future.
C. Elegans is a non parasitic round worm (nematode) found in locations rich with nutrients and
microorganisms, since it feeds on bacteria. This organism is commonly used as a model for testing
ideas related to aging, genetics, and drug response. This is because the genome sequence is very
similar to that of a human since according to McDonnell Genome Institute, About ... Show more

observe closely their genetics. Many generations can be produced quickly for observation since the
life span of Dorsophilia is about months and a population can easily be sustained on just fruit. It was
discovered that Humans have more genes than flies but about the same number of gene families. This
relation shows just how similar human genes are to a flies , which explains why they are the perfect

  • 2. Nursing Team Essay Nurses play a major role in healthcare teams today; their responsibilities are more involved than most others within the healthcare team. Patients have more hands on time with nurses, giving more opportunity for mistakes. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) in 2001 set out to make healthcare improvements stated in a report, Crossing the Quality Chasm: A New Health System for the 21st Century. The IOM lists six aims for improvement that they believe each healthcare member should adopt and implement. What he saw when he turned into his own unpaved puddled driveway was a decrepit house, crooked and unfinished with many different types of old bricks and a plastic tarp lining the roof from the destructive storm. As he walks into the house that looks like it is going to fall down into a pile of rubble and dust, all you see is the stepladder, the unfinished kitchen shelves, exposed stairs and warm wood. Everything in his view ought to be white, had been white long ago, and had lost its lustre and was faded and yellow. The candlelight was flickering like a small child drowning wildly and scared. The wind was blowing slightly and there was a light sprinkle in the air, but the weather wasn t stopping these people. As the hollering slowly quiets down, a group of five or six friends walk out of the arena laughing and talking amongst each other, having the time of their lives at their favorite singers concert. They stood and chit chatted outside of the gates of the arena for what felt like hours, until the light sprinkle turned into a downpour. The teenagers then quickly ran to their suburban that seemed to be miles and miles down the parking lot. Their suburban was the last vehicle in the parking lot. As they were running Jenny yelled I call shotgun! as the rest of the group groaned in between runs. Once they reached the car, one by one they piled in. They playfully yelled at Jackson, the driver, to start the car already so they could turn on the heater because they were all wet and freezing to death as Dustin would say. • 5. Communist Party And Its Muslim Minorities On September 23rd 2014, China found the prominent Uyghur scholar Ilham Tohti guilty of separatism and sentenced him to life in prison. This ruling came as a shock to the international community, for he has been the foremost advocate of peacefully resolving Uyghur ethnic unrest in China. Ilham Tohti is an ethnically Uyghur economist, professor, writer, and public intellectual who has been spearheading the vanguard of cultivating mutual understanding and respect amongst Han and Uyghur Chinese. He has been steadfast on working within the system to finding a solution that will be mutually beneficial for the Communist Party and the Uyghur ethnic minorities in Xinjiang, home to many of China s ethnic Turkic Muslims. Even in the face of adversity, he has been outspoken and quick to criticize the missteps of the Communist Party s governance and policies towards Xinjiang province and its Muslim minorities. Due to that, the CCP views him as a threat, rather than a solution, to the extreme affairs of episodic ethnic and political unrest in Xinjiang. With the growing resentment from the Uyghur populous towards government s policies, the tensions in the Xinjiang region between Muslim Uyghur minorities and Han Chinese have escalated to waves of terrorist attacks around China, with the recent stabbing in Kunming, being dubbed as China s 9/11 . In response, the CCP has imposed a more oppressive campaign to crackdown on the separatists and stabilize the region. In this plight, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. William Shakespeare s Othello And Racial Interactions... New York City is the biggest, most international, multi racial and cultural difference city in the world. It is common for the New Yorkers to interact with people visiting from all over the world. The racial differences seem not to matter to anyone in New York. The book Othello show similarities to racial interactions with the ones from New York City. However, looking closer at the play, Othello , seem to show us many interesting aspects of cultural differences. It seems that not only, racial and cultural differences were unconventional, but also unnatural . As an illustration, within first act of Othello , Roderigo and Iago encounter Brabanito and make many _not nice__ remarks towards the relationship between Brabanito s daughter and Othello. Iago says (...) an old black ram is tupping your white ewe. (P.30), suggesting that the black ram is Othello, and the white ewe is Desdemona. The first aspect of that quote is that a black ram, meaning black person (Othello) shouldn t be tapping, meaning reproduce (having sex) with a white ewe, a white person (Desdemona). Iago suggests that Othello s relationship is not only unconventional to the society in those times, but also unnatural . Iago tries to explain that Othello s and Desdemona s relationship in unnatural because, as he states in the previous citation, a black ram and a white ewe shouldn t be interacting with each other. Examine the factors which might have caused the decrease in the international competitiveness of the UK s goods and services (20) A country s international competitiveness in output markets is a measure of its ability to increase the sales of its goods and services in both its domestic markets and overseas markets compared to that of its trading rivals. Supply side policies aim to achieve an outward shift in the LRAS curve by increasing the quantity and improving the quality of factor inputs. The first supply side policy I lll be looking at is a reduction in taxes for businesses. What corporation tax cuts will result in is less money spent on tax, allowing more money to be available for firms to spend on investment spending. The reduction of tax will only be useful in the extra money is spent in this way, as the government will benefit in the long run from the decrease of money gained in the short run if the LRAS curve shifts to the write. Reducing tax may also increase foreign direct investment spending by other countries in the UK. With greater capital goods, labour productivity will increase by increasing ... • 8. The Characters Of Sita In The Rishi, Valmiki s Ramayana In the epic, Ramayana, by the Rishi (sage) Valmiki, Sita is the epitome of what an ideal woman should be, as she is the ideal wife for Rama, the hero. Sita takes care of her husband and listens to his words, despite situations that would cause others to speak out. As the ideal wife, Sita does not complain to her husband when he does not trust her, and she sacrifices herself to prove to him the truth. Sita says My trials are not ended yet... I thought with your victory all our troubles were at an end! . . . O Agni, great god of fire, be my witness. She jumped into the fire (Narayan). As the ideal wife for the hero, Rama, Sita displays as a docile individual who lacks a say in her relationship with her husband. She possesses the characteristics of a feminine individual, which according to Merriam Webster dictionary is the qualities or appearance traditionally associated with women, especially delicacy and prettiness (Merriam Webster.com). Sita is a necessary character in the epic needed to display these feminine characteristics and traits. However, if comparing how important Sita is in the epic, she is secondary to Rama, showing a stark difference where they stand. When reading Ramayana, gender is a significant factor that shapes the personas of the characters. Gender is also a significant factor that indicates their level of importance in the epic. However, gender is not only a significant factor that defines an individual in epics, stories, myths or fairy tales. The reality is gender is a prevalent topic in every society, this aspect allows individuals to identify themselves to others. Gender refers to the socially and culturally constructed roles, privileges and relations of women, men, girls, and boys (Tadria). Gender creates a certain standard or expectation for individuals depending on their gender. In the epic, Mahabharata, there is a story that one can use to display the different standards that occur. In the story, Draupadi, the five Pandavas brothers: Yudhistra, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva, bring home a boon to their mother. • 9. Inventing Historical Truth On The Silver Screen Analysis When viewing films of the past, we then form a counter discourse because we can compare it to modern day views and beliefs. The article, Inventing Historical Truth on the Silver Screen, by Robert Rosenstone, explains having a current perspective on history and how we interpret it. Written historical documents can only be backed up by truth so far. These films Amistad, 1776, and The Black Robe, can help form ideas of what might have happened, but that is what they are used for, to help mold and shape historical events to the present day. It is clear and obvious that slavery is wrong and never should have happened, but certain people decided differently. Of course we do not obtain video footage of such historical event and go off of verbal and written documentation, but the movie Amistad, goes into detail about how the slaves were treated. It was inhumane and they were treated worse than animals. They were captured, traded in from their own people, beaten, killed, raped, separated from families, forced to work and do things no one should ever have to go through. But for public purposes, it did not show everything they went through. The movie definitely softens certain clips for the reason of who might watch the film and for what they would be allowed to film and produce. A few examples would be when the shipmen were softly kissing on the women slaves on the boat, how the movie portrayed the selling of slaves, and how Baldwin received one swat on his head and a few death letters. ... • 10. Stereotyping And The American Cinema Stereotyping Arabs in Hollywood Stereotyping is a very common tool used by film makers because it is a simple way of establishing a trait of a character in a movie but it provides a single sided portrait of certain people based on their sex, gender, religion, race or age. As an example the way Arabs, particularly Palestinians, are portrayed in cinema. The American cinema has painted a picture full of misconceptions about them and created a stereotype that has been exacerbated in many movies since the dawn of hollywood. Because Cinema is a powerful tool that manipulates and reshapes the thoughts of audiences by making spectators passively consume all presented material, it made it easy to manipulate the minds of people to serve a political agenda mainly the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Jack Valenti a former president and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America had said: Washington and Hollywood spring from the same DNA . Since the founding of Israel in 1948, every American administration has made it clear which side it is on. On the other hand, it failed to support the millions of Palestinians who are loosing their homes, their lands, and their lives to the occupation. In the contrary, they have always been projected as the evil that wants death to Israel and America. And that is where cinema comes in, it goes to reinforce that image in the minds of people so they are less compassionate and sympathetic to the palestinian people as Israel is expanding in ... • 11. Ariana Grande s Song You Don T Know Me Art can be expressed in many different forms. Such as paintings, literature, dance, photography, and music. The purpose of art is to convey stories to an audience. An example of this would be Ariana Grande s song, You Don t Know Me . In this song, Ariana is telling the story of how people are judging her based off of what is said about her in the media, instead of getting to know her for themselves. Art can be interpreted in different mediums. I decided to use the different principles and elements of art such as emphasis, focal point, color, variety, pattern, rhythm, positive shapes, and contrast in order to recreate the story that Ariana is singing about in her song. In my piece, I used the repetition of the shapes of lines and colors to create a pattern. This pattern of alternating colors created an alternating rhythm in my artwork. I received inspiration for this rhythm from the alternating rhythm in the song. Grande s Song starts off with heavy bass and is loud, but transitions into a softer and slower rhythm. Throughout the song they rotate. In my composition, I recreated this alternating rhythm by the way I had my lines start from the bottom corner on the right side, but on the opposite side I started my lines from the top corner. The alternating colors and lines on both sides create their own rhythms which coexist to form a complex, alternating rhythm in the design. Using the colored lines I made a positive shape inside of my artwork. The outline of my figure s body is the positive shape because it appears to be in the front of the composition. I made the girl a positive shape because instead of coloring her in I left her colorless. The figure also creates a contrast in my artwork. The plain, whiteness of the figure creates a contrast with the colorful lines next to it. In conclusion, I used the different principles and elements of art to convey the story from Ariana Grande s song, You Don t Know Me . • 12. Masculine Portrayals In The Roaring Girl And Tamburlaine Toxic Masculine Portrayals in The Roaring Girl and Tamburlaine The portrayals of men in Renaissance literature and plays is wrought with various aspects of toxic masculinity. Masculinity in works such as Tamburlaine the Great or The Roaring Girl is shown in different ways and with varying degrees of spectacle. Tamburlaine displays his masculinity through hyper violent acts and high degrees of spectacle, whereas characters such as Laxton and Dapper flaunt their masculinity in different, less violently spectacular means, however, they still participate in embodying the toxic masculine ideal. Understanding masculinity and how it is defined at the time is important to grasping why the portrayals of it in various works involve the aspects that they do. Masculinity as it exists now is a fluid concept, yet in the past leading up the Renaissance it was treated as a rigid set of rules that men must uphold to be perceived as masculine and in turn make headway in a patriarchal society. Ideas about masculinity and femininity are beginning to be questioned more during the Renaissance in interesting ways, especially when these ideas are presented in the world of the theatre. Men in this time period are expected to be the backbone of their households and held up as a woman s closet tie to God, right below their clergymen. These expectations come with backlash. With the expectation of men to be the protectors and providers of their households and out in the world at large, violence, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Characteristics Of Catholicism And Christianity Christianity is the most widely followed religion among the world s population with approximately 2.3 billion followers, half of which are Roman Catholics (Liu). As a result of this widespread popularity, there is a unique and specific subculture that distinguishes this religion from others. As a lifelong member of Catholicism myself, I wanted to delve further into the cultural aspect of this religion and the unambiguous traits. Culture is defined by the shared norms, beliefs, and values within a group. Catholicism is no exception and is an established subculture with specific characteristics, material culture, hierarchical organization and other aspects that make it very distinctive. A subculture is ...defined as the groups united by sets of concepts, values, symbols, and shared meaning specific to the members of that group (Conley p.85). Catholicism corresponds with this definition because the religion and its members are united by similar cultural characteristics including both material and non material culture. The followers of this religion are unified by these cultural characteristics that are specific to Catholicism. The non material cultural characteristics that define Catholicism as a subculture are the shared values between members. In general, individuals of Catholic faith are family oriented. Familial values are of the utmost importance in the Catholic faith whether it be faithfulness through marriage or through socializing children to have similar values. In ... • 14. Harkness Reflection I was sitting around the Harkness table clueless of what to say as my peers were leading the conversation. It was the first day of class and we were already trying out the Harkness discussion method. All 14 students in my class, as well as the teacher were seated around the oval, wooden table. The Harkness discussion is a learning method originated in Phillips Exeter Academy to discuss ideas and topics in a environment where everyone is encouraged to participate. It is a student led, open minded discussion with minimal interaction from the teacher. During the Phillips Exeter Academy 5 week summer course, Project Exeter: A Greener Earth , this course focuses on 3 areas: Why Art?, Alternative Energy Sources, and Advocating Change. • 18. Limitations Of Peribulbar Anesthesia Discussion With an examination of the acquired results from the study, we can notice that the quality of globe akinesia in the 10th minute in the rocuronium group was comparatively better, and 86% of the patients underwent the total akinesia; whereas, the percentage of the total akinesia for the cisatracurium group and the control group in 10th minute was 73% and 66% respectively (p value 0.444). Peribulbar anesthesia is widely used for cataract surgery. This method is associated with less serious complications compared to intravenous anesthesia (8) However, it has the disadvantage of a slow onset of orbital akinesia (9) and the frequent need for a block supplement. (10) To overcome these limitations, many adjuvant drugs have been added to the local anesthetic mixture used for the peribulbar block to increase its efficacy and accelerate its initial rate; their effects, however, were different. (11, 12, 13) In retrobulbar approach, a needle is inserted into the intraconal space, a space behind the eye formed by the extraocular muscles, containing the major nerves of the eye and its adnexa. Therefore, it may be associated with potentially serious eye damage such as: a scleral perforation, a stimulation of the oculocardial reflex and an injection of an anesthetic in the perioptic meningeal space. However, this approach may have the advantage of rapid onset of analgesia and akinesia with the use of relatively smaller volumes of anesthetic. (14) (15) In addition to commonly observed conjunctival edema, a higher initial IOP is accompanied by the higher volume of the anesthetic agent (16), also the need for additional injection is higher for peribulbar block compared to retrobulbar block (14). Neuromuscular blockers have been used as adjuvants for many trials. Reah et al. added a dose of 0.5 mg vecuronium to a mixture of lidocaine and bupivacaine with 15 IU / mL hyaluronidase. (6) In the study of kucukyavuz et al. Atracurium 5 mg was added to the same anesthetic mixture without hyaluronidase. (5) The siege of Peribulbar was carried out in these two studies using a technique of 2 injections (Infertembporal and medial orbital). Previously, it served as a typical nightclub and restaurant for heterosexuals. Like many things the mafia was involved in, much of the legality and dealings were under the table. Once a week, a police officer would come collect envelopes full of cash as payoffs. Further, the Zoroastrians were in fact the ones most enraged by the conversion to Islam as they were involved in occupations that involved impurities such as working with fire, etc. Missionaries did not really encounter much opposition as it became quite easy to convert the Persians into Islam alluding to the fact that there were already many similarities and that transforming, or converting, was really not such a hard task. Muslim leaders would also win conversions by attending public Muslim prayers, promising money and allowing for the Qur an to be recited in Persian and not Arabic, so that all could understand what the Qur an was really trying to say. Nurses play an important role in death. Mourning the death of a loved one is something that almost everyone will experience in this lifetime because it is a natural response to death. Bereavement, grief and mourning are all effected by one s culture, religion, the relationship with the deceased, personality, and how the person died. Bereavement Role Nurses have a difficult yet unique role when it comes to bereavement. Nurses spend the most time with patients, so they are most often the ones that patients choose to share their concerns, fears, and grief with. According to Corr Coolican, (2010), bereavement is the term used when someone significant is lost through death. According to Read (2002), nurses can help the bereaved by acknowledging the death, using active listening, helping them to express their emotions and ensuring that they are involved in the dying process. Importantly, a lower court had previously determined that no laws were violated even if Walker s campaign and the groups had worked together. Thus, providers make do without past data, basing their decisions instead on what the patient can tell them and on what their examination reveals. They then write a note for inclusion in the chart when the chart is located. In a large institution with thousands of medical records, it is not surprising that such loose notes often fail to make it to the patient s chart or are filed out of sequence so that the actual chronology of management is disrupted in the record. When patients who have chronic or frequent diseases are seen over months or years, their records grow so large that the charts must be broken up into multiple volumes. When a hospital clinic or emergency room orders the patient s chart, only the most recent volume typically is provided. • 26. Difference Between Foundationalism And Coherentism 1. What is the traditional understanding of knowledge? Explain two theories of truth. What is the difference between foundationalism and coherentism? What is knowledge? What does knowledge mean and how does a person get to know something? And taking the step further than that how does a person know that the something is true? What is the basis for knowledge? There are two main forms of knowledge; a priori and empirical. A priori is knowledge that is independent from a person s experience and can be proven to be true by simple logic or basic definition of what is being stated. For example 2+2=4 is considered a priori type of knowledge because it can be proven true by using the mechanics of mathematics. The other type of knowledge is knowledge that can not be true without a personal experience to give justification to why it is true, this knowledge is called empirical knowledge. Empirical knowledge is much harder to prove to be true just by the nature of where the justification comes from. An example of this is that the writing is in blue ink the statement can only be true if I had seen for myself that the writing was done in blue ink because by definition writing does not have to be in blue ink. To solve this problem, Plato would say that knowledge is a justified true belief and gives us specific steps to work through this problem. This means the person making the claim must be able to justify it in someway. The claim in itself must be true. And the person must believe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
