They are 28 and 27
years old.
• Twenty One Pilots (TOP) are a American Duo that that
originate from Ohio, USA.
• They specialise in Alternative Rock and Hip hop but also take
part in a variety of electronic and Indie pop. Genre
• Once a Band of 4, TOP formed in 2009 however in late 2011
2 members left the band and were left as a duo.
• The group formed the band as College friends, all willing to
start a fresh band and make a mark on the musical world.
• The bands purpose; "to make people think", as well as
encourage them to find joy in what they come to believe in
life.
Their Success
• TOP are now a well known established Band that
has thrived in the past 2 years. Their Album
‘BlurryFace’ was a huge hit, its Best selling Song
‘Stressed Out’ Went Global and Peaked at
Second place in the US hot Billboard 100.
• In June, 2016 TOP partnered up with Highly
Rated Film ‘Suicide squad’ and took part in the
soundtrack for the song.
• Their Song ‘Heathens’ was very successful and
TOP are the 3rd rock group to get there singles in
the billboard hot 100 5 times in a row.
Things to note
• TOP are very popular with Karrang! Official. They appeal to younger Audiences, Rock enthusiasts
and pop fans. I would selectively identify teenagers as there main Target audience. There Music
Covers a variety of Genres and changes from song to song. The bands general appearance
Denotes an Alternative Rock/pop Band.
• They like to Follow a similar trend in Colour scheme and design principles regarding their
merchandise, Albums, Website etc. Use a lot of contrasting and striking colours such as Black, Red
and whites which are bold and vibrant.
• Their Music is largely based around poetry. TOP create songs of meaning and purpose and like to
tell a story. However their style means the music has been turned into raping and a musical duet in
a specialised manner. This unique style of alternative rock poetry could give me more ideas
regarding my music video. As their songs have deeper meanings I will have to connect with the
song and produce a music video that has a good story to backup to music. I could be very
adventurous with their lyrics.
• They issue their fan base as the ‘Skeleton clique’ The skeleton clique is very important to the band
members and almost all their physical interactive, via tweet, message or voice is to their individual
fan base.
• They like to use Social media as a platform of promotion and integration.

The Music video for the cong is as shown
on the left hand side. This is a still shot but
presents us the ideas of the song which as
very little animation and graphics. Its very
basic and simple. Therefore I believe I can
get very adventurous and produce as
music video that would be a huge
improvement on the clips provided currently
in all departments. I want to adapt a story
that follows the lyrics of the song and give
viewers a clip they can enjoy and feel part
of.

What I can learn, use and develop
Use?
•The colour scheme is very
effective despite the lack of
colours. Its striking and bold,
this is very important to promote
the digipak as its an
merchandise piece that needs
to attractive visually.
•Its elegant, yet simple. Has a
professional manner that I
would like my digipak to
express.
•The whole digipak contents has
the same designs and patterns.
Connotes synergy between the
items.
Develop?
•The Text isn't very interesting and too
small to have a defined look. I want my
digipak to stand out and viewers to
browse my design from distance and
know the band, its songs and any other
content.
•My digipak will be subject to the
storyline that my music video has.
Needs to carry on element of synergy
and connect the 2 merchandise pieces
together.
•My digipak wants to have more info on
it and be bigger possibly. A different
general design of the package.

My idea research and planning

  • 1. Promotional Package Further Research, planning and investigation.
  • 2. Twenty One Pilots This is the TOP logo, according to Tyler Joseph this logo represents purpose and ‘being human’. Tackling obstacles in life. Pictures are Band members Tyler Joseph (right) and Josh Dun (Left). They are 28 and 27 years old. • Twenty One Pilots (TOP) are a American Duo that that originate from Ohio, USA. • They specialise in Alternative Rock and Hip hop but also take part in a variety of electronic and Indie pop. Genre • Once a Band of 4, TOP formed in 2009 however in late 2011 2 members left the band and were left as a duo. • The group formed the band as College friends, all willing to start a fresh band and make a mark on the musical world. • The bands purpose; "to make people think", as well as encourage them to find joy in what they come to believe in life.
  • 3. Their Success • TOP are now a well known established Band that has thrived in the past 2 years. Their Album ‘BlurryFace’ was a huge hit, its Best selling Song ‘Stressed Out’ Went Global and Peaked at Second place in the US hot Billboard 100. • In June, 2016 TOP partnered up with Highly Rated Film ‘Suicide squad’ and took part in the soundtrack for the song. • Their Song ‘Heathens’ was very successful and TOP are the 3rd rock group to get there singles in the billboard hot 100 5 times in a row.
  • 4. Things to note • TOP are very popular with Karrang! Official. They appeal to younger Audiences, Rock enthusiasts and pop fans. I would selectively identify teenagers as there main Target audience. There Music Covers a variety of Genres and changes from song to song. The bands general appearance Denotes an Alternative Rock/pop Band. • They like to Follow a similar trend in Colour scheme and design principles regarding their merchandise, Albums, Website etc. Use a lot of contrasting and striking colours such as Black, Red and whites which are bold and vibrant. • Their Music is largely based around poetry. TOP create songs of meaning and purpose and like to tell a story. However their style means the music has been turned into raping and a musical duet in a specialised manner. This unique style of alternative rock poetry could give me more ideas regarding my music video. As their songs have deeper meanings I will have to connect with the song and produce a music video that has a good story to backup to music. I could be very adventurous with their lyrics. • They issue their fan base as the ‘Skeleton clique’ The skeleton clique is very important to the band members and almost all their physical interactive, via tweet, message or voice is to their individual fan base. • They like to use Social media as a platform of promotion and integration.

Title: ‘Stressed Out’ Above is the Album Cover for ‘BlurryFace’ which features the song stressed out NOTE: The remix version did not have its own Album but only a music video

This is a still shot but presents us the ideas of the song which as very little animation and graphics. Its very basic and simple. Therefore I believe I can get very adventurous and produce as music video that would be a huge improvement on the clips provided currently in all departments. I want to adapt a story that follows the lyrics of the song and give viewers a clip they can enjoy and feel part of.
  • 7. DigiPak What I can learn, use and develop Use? •The colour scheme is very effective despite the lack of colours. Its striking and bold, this is very important to promote the digipak as its an merchandise piece that needs to attractive visually. •Its elegant, yet simple. Has a professional manner that I would like my digipak to express. •The whole digipak contents has the same designs and patterns. Connotes synergy between the items. Develop? •The Text isn't very interesting and too small to have a defined look. I want my digipak to stand out and viewers to browse my design from distance and know the band, its songs and any other content. •My digipak will be subject to the storyline that my music video has. Needs to carry on element of synergy and connect the 2 merchandise pieces together. •My digipak wants to have more info on it and be bigger possibly. A different general design of the package.
