OUR PITCH
The chosen name our Band is Ultraviolet.
They are a male and female duo that consists of a male vocalist
and a female producer. They produce EDM (Electronic Dance
Music) and Deep House with 90’s R’n’B Influences.
We chose this name because it goes with our song style and
because a lot of pre existing groups within that genre have
quite unusual and creative names.
For example: Rudimental, Disclosure and Years and Years
BAND/ARTISTÉ
 Our groups Genre is Electronica - mainly Synthpop and Deep
House as they are subgenres of Electronica/EDM.
 This is a genre that has emerged from early 1980’s Chicago ,
It Is an umbrella term as it has several different genres fall
into it. It has a common use of the synthesizer and bass
popular sub genres include: techno, house, trance, drum and
bass, dubstep and trap.
 We chose this genre because it is upbeat and fun and has also
become more popular within the recent years with many
mainstream artist adopting the style e.g. Lady Gaga and Nicki
Minaj
GENRE
 The song we choose is Shift K3Y – Beep Beep.
 The reason we choose this song is because as a group we
were able to connect with the song style, it relates to previous
experiences and it also sums up popular music today as it is a
mixture every genre e.g. R’n’B and Trap.
 Also as our song doesn’t have a music video it enables us to
use our creativity to our full potential and to create a original
narrative for the video.
 It was also easy for us to develop a narrative for this song
after listening to it as we all formed a connection with the
song.
 Our previous song choices were: Mura Musa – Firefly and
Banks – This is what it feels like.
SONG CHOICE
 For our band Ultraviolet, we will need a
male and a female to portray the
members of the duo. We will need them
to take a photo shoot for the website we
are going to create and also for our digi-
pack. For the female member of the duo,
we are considering to use Phoebe.
However we have not casted the male
yet.
 For our narrative, we will need a group of
teenagers aged around 16-18. 3 boys
and 3 girls. As our narrative is projecting
them as a group of friend. A few
characteristic we will need from whoever
we cast will be someone who is outgoing,
able to act and also be comfortable
around people they may not know.
BAND CAST/CHARACTERS
 Fashion Style:
As they are young people (late teens/early 20's) they're up to
date on fashions and actively follow trends (hair, shoes, brands
etc.)
Statement item of the group is at least one item of white
clothing (plain or patterned), connection to band name
Ultraviolet as when white clothing is worn in clubs that use UV
lighting, the material will glow a violet colour, which connects
to the band name and their fun vibe.
 Media Image:
Very fun and energetic style to the group, similar to students
and party goers. Good press, rarely get into trouble or fights.
Get high amounts of praise for their contribution to the music
scene, and good reviews of their sets in uni bars and clubs and
concert venues. Have a wide fanbase who are very dedicated to
the group.
BAND/ARTISTE STYLE
 Our primary target audience is young adults (18- 26) we have
chosen this age group as the target audience as they are able to
relate to the lyrics used and listen to it whilst with a group of
friends, at the club and at concerts and festivals.
 Our secondary target audience is teenagers (14-18). This is as in
'beep beep' the lyrics are mostly about 'young love' with this we
thought young people are at the stage in their life where they are
finding themselves and experimenting with different things two
of which is music and relationships.
 Dance music has developed over the recent years and so has
been widely popular, due to this popularity the song has been
playing in clubs, on the radio and retail shops. Alongside hearing
them outside, house music could be listened to anywhere, such
as when taking a walk to the shops. The audience of house
music is easily able to hear the lyrics and also a genre which can
be danced to as the whole purpose of house music is to dance to
it.
AUDIENCE
 As our audience is Teenagers to young adults our main form of promotion
would be via Social Media, Websites, a Digipak and poster.
 Social Media would be our main form of promotion as it is the main way to
reach our target audience as well as it is cheap and easy to use.
 We were inspired by the way synthpop band Years & Years used social
media to interact with their audience by getting them to pick their
favourite video to the song shine that was debuted on Channel 4 this was
decided on twitter using the hashtags:#chooselight,#choosedark
#chooseshadow
 This has inspired us to utilise social media the was they have to promote
our artist
PROMOTION
Chosen Fan Video Official Music Video
 The idea for the production of our music video is going to be based on a
narrative performance.
 The initial idea for our narrative sequence is inspired by Romeo and Juliet.
The idea of the ‘ forbidden lovers’ that are wanting to be with each other
but are obstructed by their ‘families’ but in the interpretation of our video,
their friends.
 Although we are inspired by the theme in Romeo and Juliet we want to put
a modern twist to it so that our video can be relatable not only to our song
choice, but also our audience. So by the end of our video we are hoping to
create a moment where the two lovers are able to come together and share
that moment with each other.
NARRATIVE
 For our music video we are already considering various
locations. Each location we have picked help build up our
narrative in a modern/exciting way and also help us to
creatively come up with various camera shots/angels and
editing techniques we can use to improve the professional
quality we are looking to give from our video.

Our group pitch

  • 2. The chosen name our Band is Ultraviolet. They are a male and female duo that consists of a male vocalist and a female producer. They produce EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and Deep House with 90’s R’n’B Influences. We chose this name because it goes with our song style and because a lot of pre existing groups within that genre have quite unusual and creative names. For example: Rudimental, Disclosure and Years and Years BAND/ARTISTÉ
  • 3.  Our groups Genre is Electronica - mainly Synthpop and Deep House as they are subgenres of Electronica/EDM.  This is a genre that has emerged from early 1980’s Chicago , It Is an umbrella term as it has several different genres fall into it. It has a common use of the synthesizer and bass popular sub genres include: techno, house, trance, drum and bass, dubstep and trap.  We chose this genre because it is upbeat and fun and has also become more popular within the recent years with many mainstream artist adopting the style e.g. Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj GENRE
  • 4.  The song we choose is Shift K3Y – Beep Beep.  The reason we choose this song is because as a group we were able to connect with the song style, it relates to previous experiences and it also sums up popular music today as it is a mixture every genre e.g. R’n’B and Trap.  Also as our song doesn’t have a music video it enables us to use our creativity to our full potential and to create a original narrative for the video.  It was also easy for us to develop a narrative for this song after listening to it as we all formed a connection with the song.  Our previous song choices were: Mura Musa – Firefly and Banks – This is what it feels like.   • 5.  For our band Ultraviolet, we will need a male and a female to portray the members of the duo. We will need them to take a photo shoot for the website we are going to create and also for our digi- pack. For the female member of the duo, we are considering to use Phoebe. However we have not casted the male yet.  For our narrative, we will need a group of teenagers aged around 16-18. 3 boys and 3 girls. As our narrative is projecting them as a group of friend. A few characteristic we will need from whoever we cast will be someone who is outgoing, able to act and also be comfortable around people they may not know. BAND CAST/CHARACTERS
  • 6.  Fashion Style: As they are young people (late teens/early 20's) they're up to date on fashions and actively follow trends (hair, shoes, brands etc.) Statement item of the group is at least one item of white clothing (plain or patterned), connection to band name Ultraviolet as when white clothing is worn in clubs that use UV lighting, the material will glow a violet colour, which connects to the band name and their fun vibe.  Media Image: Very fun and energetic style to the group, similar to students and party goers. Good press, rarely get into trouble or fights. Get high amounts of praise for their contribution to the music scene, and good reviews of their sets in uni bars and clubs and concert venues. Have a wide fanbase who are very dedicated to the group. BAND/ARTISTE STYLE
  • 7.  Our primary target audience is young adults (18- 26) we have chosen this age group as the target audience as they are able to relate to the lyrics used and listen to it whilst with a group of friends, at the club and at concerts and festivals.  Our secondary target audience is teenagers (14-18). This is as in 'beep beep' the lyrics are mostly about 'young love' with this we thought young people are at the stage in their life where they are finding themselves and experimenting with different things two of which is music and relationships.  Dance music has developed over the recent years and so has been widely popular, due to this popularity the song has been playing in clubs, on the radio and retail shops. Alongside hearing them outside, house music could be listened to anywhere, such as when taking a walk to the shops. The audience of house music is easily able to hear the lyrics and also a genre which can be danced to as the whole purpose of house music is to dance to it. AUDIENCE
  • 8.  As our audience is Teenagers to young adults our main form of promotion would be via Social Media, Websites, a Digipak and poster.  Social Media would be our main form of promotion as it is the main way to reach our target audience as well as it is cheap and easy to use.  We were inspired by the way synthpop band Years & Years used social media to interact with their audience by getting them to pick their favourite video to the song shine that was debuted on Channel 4 this was decided on twitter using the hashtags:#chooselight,#choosedark #chooseshadow  This has inspired us to utilise social media the was they have to promote our artist PROMOTION

  • 10.  The idea for the production of our music video is going to be based on a narrative performance.  The initial idea for our narrative sequence is inspired by Romeo and Juliet. The idea of the ‘ forbidden lovers’ that are wanting to be with each other but are obstructed by their ‘families’ but in the interpretation of our video, their friends.  Although we are inspired by the theme in Romeo and Juliet we want to put a modern twist to it so that our video can be relatable not only to our song choice, but also our audience. So by the end of our video we are hoping to create a moment where the two lovers are able to come together and share that moment with each other. NARRATIVE
  • 11.  For our music video we are already considering various locations. Each location we have picked help build up our narrative in a modern/exciting way and also help us to creatively come up with various camera shots/angels and editing techniques we can use to improve the professional quality we are looking to give from our video.
